(00:00):
You're listening to KFI AM six fortyon demand. So Thursday has come and
gone, Thanksgiving Day has come andgone. And it's interesting how just prior
to Thanksgiving all that you see cookingshows, magazines or how to prepare turkey,

(00:20):
how to prepare your Thanksgiving meal?Right, that's all you could see.
Now it's after Thanksgiving and what seemsto be popping up everywhere is how
to prepare your what your leftovers?Everywhere? How to prepare your leftover overs
this year? How to use yourturkey and stews and soups, whatever it

(00:41):
might be. And that's a goodthing. That's a practical thing. When
you're dealing with so much food, you have a feast of sorts. The
last thing you want to do istake the leftovers and toss them out.
Shows that you're good steward with yourmoney, with your food, with your

(01:02):
time, very practical. So it'sbound to be that type of the year
that leftover has become something very important. My producer Neil loves to cook,
loves to take things from the pantrythat look like nothing and make them into
something. Loves the concept of takingleftovers and making something wonderful again out of

(01:25):
them. In that sense, it'sgood. That sense leftovers wonderful. However,
you wouldn't serve leftovers on Thanksgiving night. They're a byproduct, their byproduct

(01:48):
that you use, a resource thatyou use again. But serving them to
your guests originally at Thanksgiving might beconsidered tacky. The whole point is to
come together and bring those those greatfruits of labor to the table. There's

(02:12):
a poem about leftovers dealing with Godthat I want you to hear. Source
is unknown, but it speaks truth. Leftovers are such humble things we would
not serve to a guest, andyet we serve them to our Lord,
who deserves the very best. Wegive to him left over time, stray

(02:36):
minutes here and there, leftover cash, we give to him such few coins
as we can spare. We giveour youth unto the world to hatred,
lust and strife. Then, indeclining years, we give to him the
remaining of our life. Not poempoints to the way some of you might

(03:02):
treat God. It's very easy toget wrapped up in the world right now
during the holidays. It's very easyto get wrapped up in everything that goes
with the world now you've got toget gifts, and now you've got to
do dinners, and now you've gotto get together, and all kinds of
hubbub. But really it's about themost simplest things. It's about breaking bread

(03:27):
with one another, about loving onone another and spending time with one another.
All the other stuff is gravy,as they say, But the leftovers
that God loves are the practical onesand not throwing out food, reusing it
and making sure you're a good stewardof your money and your time. The

(03:52):
leftovers God hates are when you don'tgive God his due, and that God
gets your scraps, the little thingsthat come after everything else, because you're
constantly focused on what the treasure's here, the things that you need here,

(04:13):
building your empire here, building upyour treasures here. Matthew six nineteen through
twenty one says, do not storeup for yourself's treasures on earth, where
moth and vermin destroy, and wherethieves break in and steal, But store

(04:34):
up for yourself treasure's in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy,
and where the thieves do not breakin and steal. For where your treasure
is there, Your heart will be. Also, it's so easy to get
caught up in the things of theworld to think that you need more and

(04:58):
need to achieve more. And there'snothing wrong with achievement, there's nothing wrong
with growth, there's nothing wrong withhope or goals or any of those things.
All good, all godly. Butis there balance in there? Is
there a timeline in there for God? Or does God get your leftovers?
Does God get your scraps, littlethings that they come at the end of

(05:27):
the meal. God is not yourcosmic dog waiting at the end of your
bountiful table for you to finish themeal and then throw him a bone.
The Father wants to participate in lifewith you, wants to be invited to

(05:51):
do so. And I know thatit gets very easy to get lost in
this life. But certain things shouldremind you. Holy days that you call
holidays now were originally there to dothat, to re center you, to
refocus, to show appreciation to God, to keep certain days holy, not

(06:15):
because the date mattered or something likethat, but because it was important to
stop. It was important to spendtime with God, to be thankful for
the things in which you have inlife. And the last thing you want

(06:36):
to do is take the remnants, the scraps from those things and throw them
to God. You're called to loveGod and to worship God and to praise
God with all that you are. That means all your talents, your gifts,

(06:57):
yes, even finances. All thesethings play a part in one form
or another. You don't need togive to your broke that's not being very
wise or practical with your money. You don't have to start a Christian band
because you like playing music. It'snot the only way to do it.

(07:19):
But if you have gifts and abilities, you want to utilize them for God.
You want to take all those thingsthat God gave you and give them
back in some way. That typeof respect, that type of reverence and
appreciation of who God is in yourlife should should come to you easily.

(07:46):
It's good not to be wasteful withyour food. Those kind of leftovers no
problem, but you wouldn't serve themto your guests on Thanksgiving. So being
in a mindset where you would serveyour leftovers to God should be something that
stops. Now. The balance inthis life is so key. There are

(08:13):
those that go off the spiritual handlewant to give away everything and on the
surface, that doesn't sound bad, does it. However, I hear the
aftermath, the frustration, the feelingsof abandonment when people give up all that

(08:39):
they have and then feel as ifGod has somehow left them. Because the
things that you have you should haveto provide for you and your family.
But God should be a part ofyour family. It's not that you'd give

(09:01):
all your money to one child. That to be a balanced parent, a
balanced member of the family is toput into it in a way that's healthy
and beneficial for all involved, andnot put yourself in a place where the
enemy can get a foothold and makeyou regret your decisions. If you are

(09:26):
good at music, it doesn't meanthat it has to be a Christian band.
You can still praise God in manyways using those gifts and abilities.
The important thing is to use themand always use them to the glory of
God. Talking about leftovers, why, because everyone talks about leftovers after Thanksgiving.

(09:52):
You can't turn on the TV orlook at a magazine or even in
the newspaper without seeing some story onhow to use your leftovers. However,
although when it comes to food, leftovers are a good thing. You certainly
wouldn't serve them to your guests thefirst time out right, it's not what
Thanksgiving is about. However, thattends to be the meal that God gets

(10:16):
is your leftovers based on whatever youhave, and really you're called to give
God, to give to God fromevery part of who you are and everything
that you have. Your talents, your money, your time, None of
these things should be your leftovers toGod. Always seeking new ways to serve

(10:39):
and to glorify God should be theconcern. In just a little bit,
we want to take your calls. As always, you are welcome to bring
your thoughts, your questions dealing withtheology, God, religion, spirituality,
world views, or if you're goingthrough something in life you want to talk

(11:00):
about it, you can call usas well. We'd love to hear from
you anywhere in the us of adial eight seven seven Holy Host numerically eight
seven seven four sixty five nine foursixty seven. The disciples themselves use their
talents, and if you remember inscripture that I looked for people that had

(11:20):
certain abilities, you may have thought, well, that seems weird. Why
would you choose that, Why wouldyou choose fishermen for example? Well,
fishermen were known to be people withwork ethic. It's just not something you
could sit by and let happen. Now, there might be some women right
now saying, hey, woy,my husband fishes. Trust me, you

(11:41):
can sit around and just let ithappen. But as fishermen, when you're
doing it for money, that reallyyou had to be out there for long
periods of time, very dedicated andfocused to that one task. You have
to add great, great patience. And if you remember in script sure I
said follow me, I will makeyou fishers of men, speaking to uh

(12:05):
Simon, Peter and Andrew his brother, and they left it all and followed
me. And this happened again,as there were others that we came across.
But for you know, the beginningof the art of fishing, this

(12:31):
produced a particular type of person.Could be very strenuous. Work had to
be a very coordinated effort, ifyou had partners, and you couldn't just
sit around being lazy and doing nothing. Now were fishermen did they tend to
be a little salty in their languageand attitude? Yeah? Who. My

(12:56):
concern was to get those with thatwork ethic. And here are people in
scripture that use those gifts and abilities, those talents of being able to gather
fish with patience and technique and coordinatedeffort and use them to the glory of
God. And that's what I wantto do with you. I want to

(13:18):
take your abilities and the things thatyou do well, and I want to
use them to the glory of God. Brent, welcome to the Jesus Christ
show. Yes, I have asmall question. It's confusioning me slightly.
Okay, after Jesus pasted for fortydays of forty nights, Satan walked up

(13:41):
to him and said, worship meand I will I will give you all
of this, and he was talkingabout the earth. My question is,
who is the ruler of the earthtoday? Is that Jesus or God Satan.
That's where I'm confused. I'm gettinginto some conversations with people, sure,
and it can become confusing based onunderstanding the stations of the individuals.

(14:05):
In this case, always God controlseverything. However, for the non believer,
the God of this world is goingto be Satan. Okay, So,
and scripture talks about that that theGod of this world is really going
to be based on those that don'tbelieve those that are wrapped up in in

(14:28):
unbelief, for the ones that aregoing to be bound by it. Second
Corinthians four to four. The Godof this age is blinded the minds of
unbelievers, speaking of the devil lowercase g so that so that they cannot
see the light of the Gospel, the glory of Christ, who is the
image of God. So the peoplethat will be blinded by it and really

(14:50):
subjects to the devil will be theunbelievers, not the believers. So what
it essentially means is not that thethat the devil has full authority. What
it means is that the devil thishas become the playground of the enemy in
such a way because of the choicesof the individuals with free will, that

(15:11):
he, in fact, it's likebeing voted there, he in fact becomes
the God of this world because peoplewant the devil more than they want God.
Now, those aren't the believers, those are the non believers. So
as long as people are calling uponthat kind of wickedness, or as the

(15:33):
Satanic Bible that has only one commandment, and that commandment is due as thou
wilt as the whole of the law. So as long as there are people
that just want to do what theywant, then yes they're going to be
serving that particular God. But makeno mistake that the Holy Father, God
in Heaven has power and dominion overeverything and merely allows the enemy to have

(15:56):
his agenda on earth for this time, because in that process becomes a purification
that is necessary for humans to maketheir decisions, and to make a pure
decision for love. In order todo something good, you have to have
the option not to do something goodto make it have any valuable, any

(16:18):
value. That's what makes that choicea moral one and not just a choice.
So in practicing and participating in thatand choosing God, you have to
have the option not to choose God. And in not choosing God, you
choose the enemy. And that's whatmakes him powerful on this planet. But
he is not a god in thatsense. He has power here as long

(16:42):
as people give him power here, but not to the believer. The believer
is separate and apart from and onlybrings the enemy into things when they choose
against the will of God. Sobeing a follower of being a Christian,

(17:03):
then the ruler of as you statedearlier, than the ruler of the earth
is God always is the people's choiceto let them determine who their ruler is
going to be. Yes, Johntwelve thirty one says, now is the
time for judgment on this world. Now the prince of this world speaking about

(17:23):
Satan will be driven out. Butbefore that time, people will have a
choice to either serve the enemy.People say, oh, well, I'm
just not going to serve a God. I don't believe in God. You
are serving one or the other. That's the way this planet works. But
God allows that. God allows thatbecause he also knows that there are those

(17:48):
that will choose against the enemy andchoose good and go towards God always.
So that it's not that God isreleased full of thought. It's that the
enemy has so much authority in thefilth and the pollution of this world,
and in that darkness and that uglinessthat people bring upon this earth. The

(18:14):
enemy has power and strength in thoseplaces. Then that makes the enemy a
very powerful creature here on earth inthat context, so much so that that
the enemy could offer me the greatestcities of the land as a temptation,
but only the things that are templetemporal, only the things that can rock,

(18:37):
only the things that will go awayand never the things that are eternal.
And God is about eternity, notjust about the temporal eighty ninety one
hundred years. You're on this planet, right, There's more to it than
that. So the enemy, bydefault, because of the way people choose

(18:57):
against God, then he gets thevote on earth, which gives him the
power and the authority on Earth thatGod allows with that particular agenda, knowing
that true love can only come fromthe option of not having to do it.

(19:17):
And so the enemy kind of capitalizeson that on this earth and becomes
powerful in that sense. But notalways. As John twelve to thirty one
points out, there will be ajudgment and he will fall during that judgment
as well. Thank you very much. You made it very clear. I
appreciate You're very welcome. I appreciateyou taking the time to call. I

(19:41):
know that that can be a confusingone, especially when it comes to the
enemy and the way the enemy playsIt seems as if, well, you
know, why would God allow this? Well, this is part of your
purification process too, and people haveto have the right to choose against God,

(20:03):
and in doing so, they choosethe devil. Mark welcome, to
the Jesus Christ Show. Good morningto you and the Lord. Bless you,
man, thank you, thank you. Hey, you know I'm reading
Job. I've read it a coupleof times and and and you know,
I love the Lord and I knowthat you know, the Lord has you
know, knows everything, future, present, past, knows what's going to

(20:26):
go on and everything. And Ijust don't understand why, if if the
Lord knew or God knew, thatJob wasn't in a budge from from him
and go with Satan, why didhe put him to so much? I
mean, you know here on earthyou got your children, and all his
children were killed. Everything was takenaway from him. And it seems to
me just could like it was abet from God to Satan that hey,

(20:48):
I'll bet you you can't do it. You know, I'm gonna allow you
to do this to him, butdon't kill him. But if he knew,
Job wasn't in a budge, whywould you put him do that?
And I don't understand it. Well, you sort of answer yourself when you
said that God knows, God knowsthe past, president and future, so
it wasn't for his knowledge. Soyou have to look at the fact of

(21:08):
well, whose knowledge could it befor? Could be for the devil,
and it could be for Job.That when scripture you noticed that even I,
when I walked this earth, wouldask questions that you knew I knew
the answer to, but I askedthem so that the person I was asking
could get the answer. When youlook at different parts of Scripture when people

(21:33):
are called to really heavy things, the story of Job absolutely looks like it's
some sort of bar bet between theFather and the devil. And that's not
the case. And what's not knownis how those things might have happened.
Regardless that those things could have happenedin a normal course of life. People
do lose family members, things dohappen, people do get ill. So

(21:57):
it's not about that that when someonegets ill, this is God and the
Devil making a bet. In thisparticular case, it was really a point
of showing the Devil and even Job, the intensity of Job's faith, not
about God coming to some understanding oreven using him as a robot. God

(22:18):
tested Job within the realm of Jobwanting to be tested. Job, it
says, was righteous man and somebodywho's sought God and the things that he
did, but ultimately everything that yousee Job go through, you can take
parts of it and look at yourlife and go wow. You know,
Job pushed through during this, evenwith bad counsel from friends, even all

(22:41):
the things that were going on inhis life, he continued to stay focused,
and so are you. You're supposedto be focused on God through all
things. So there's a lot that'staught through this as well. Now there
are many that go into service tofight for this country, not because this

(23:03):
country is perfect and or everyone init is perfect, but because the premise
or concept of this country is perfectin their eyes and one that's important to
defend. That doesn't mean that it'salways going to be righteous. That doesn't
mean that they're not going to haveblood on their hands. That doesn't mean
that they're not going to go throughwar, which is ugly. It means
for something greater they push forward. And that's the same with Job. It

(23:26):
didn't matter. See, humans tendto look at this world as the end
all beat all. This is it. This is the most important part of
all of it, and God seesit as reverse. This is not the
most important part. Heaven is,and this is just merely a purification process.
Prior to heaven. So what youvalue and you look at even family

(23:55):
are not the most valuable things toGod. They're important as they teach you
about the family of God. They'reimportant because they teach you how to be
selfless. All these things are important, but it's about what's what's understood about
that process of family and living iswhat's important for heaven. So when God

(24:18):
does certain things, it may looklike, oh, wow, he's trashing
his own creation, something that ifyou did, would be a sin.
But for God to do it,it's not because what God's doing is purifying
his creation and testing it beyond measureso that you know the most important thing
is is that the person grows andcontinues to grow towards God. Job's a

(24:44):
heavy book, no doubt about it, and it's a one worth reading more
than once. But keep in mindthat all these things are not like you
know, what was the movie TradingPlaces, where they're making a bet in
a bathroom for a dollar over youknow, two people's life, seeing if
they can ruin one and make onebetter. That's not what it is.

(25:06):
It's God saying, hey, naturalthings are going to happen. People are
going to lose family, people aregonna, you know, get sick.
Things are going to happen, andand my man, Job is going to
hang tight and going to hang withme throughout the entirety of it. And
that's to prove to the enemy andalso to prove to Job. Catherine,

(25:26):
Welcome to the Jesus Christ Show.Hi, Jesus Hello. I'm a big
scheme of things. God, whoalways was and simply is, made us.
Why did he make us? Weseem to be such a complicated mess?
Oh boy? I could ask youthe same about children, couldn't I.
Yeah, Well, I just wantto know why God made us,

(25:48):
because that's the simplest answer. Gotup and well, what's the meaning?
God is a creator? By definition, there is no need for a meaning.
That's a very human t rate togo, well, why why are
we here? Or why did Godcreate us? There is no need.
I had no need whatsoever. Ididn't I wasn't lonely. I didn't go,
Gosh, it would really be niceif I had this. I just

(26:11):
did. That's simply it. Anybody, It's a complicated mess of a creation.
Oh but it's so beautiful. Andreally, the humans tend to be
stuck in the middle of things andnever see the end of the story.
Could you imagine if you watched It'sa Wonderful Life and you stopped, you
know, three quarters of the waythrough, it'd be a horrible film.

(26:33):
It'd be the status film on theplanet. But if you watch it in
its entirety to the very end,you see that it is truly a wonderful
life. Alex, Welcome to theJesus Christ Show. Hey Jesus, Yes,
listen. I have a question aboutwhy scripture, the themes of scripture

(27:02):
seem to become more popular than theactual words of scripture. Okay, for
example, Okay, for example, you see like horror movies and and action
films where you see angels or demons. You might even see like references to

(27:23):
not often visuals, but references tobefore horsemen, and it all seems to
be more it's more like the writerjust taking those ideas, those names.
Well you mean, Hollywood's stealing ideas. Oh the heck, you say,

(27:45):
right, I know, yes,the Bible has been picked in pilfed and
all kinds of stories. I mean, even you know, wonderful and creative
films like The Matrix Really deals.Neo is a is a Jesus type character,
and that's throughout script throughout film, you'll find scripture in there and concepts

(28:07):
because the concepts are really quite masterful, and people try and reject them,
or they you know, kind ofpick and poke what they like, and
in doing so they remove it andthey pass it along to someone else,
not with it, not saying thatit's with scripture. And there's many tons
of films. I mean, theGreen Mile is about a character called John

(28:32):
Coffee JC who has the ability tomiraculously heal people and was a prisoner,
and uh, you know, there'sthe concepts will continue be taken by by
Hollywood and writers and the like.Because the concepts are powerful, doesn't mean
people are accountable to them or thatthey want to dive in and see why

(28:56):
they're powerful. They just kind ofuse them as literary devices, I know,
but that's just it. I feellike I feel like that there should
be a certain a greater degree ofappreciation there of reference. Sure I'm not,
I'm kind of agnostic. I'm notsure what I believe or how strongly,

(29:19):
but I know that there's power inthe verses, and I feel like
the best way to do something isto get it accurately, and I'm often
turned off by the way people talkabout things like how angels think like they
you know, they're they're actually kindof sad to be up in heaven all

(29:40):
the time, or board or something, and how you know what, Unfortunately
we're up against the clock because you'rejust getting to a place where I'd love
to poke more at. Maybe we'llhave time. KF on demand
