Speaker 2 (00:51):
All right about uh?

Speaker 1 (00:52):
I would say maybe ten years ago I went down
and visited a good friend of mine, Matt money Smith,
who was with the Peptro some money show, and I
think he has like nine daughters. And it was with
my daughter and her friend and I spent the afternoon skateboards.
I remember there was a lot of American what are

(01:13):
they called American dolls.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
What are they? What's that doll that all the kids
they love?

Speaker 1 (01:19):
It's American, all American dolls. And my dad anyway, this
house was filled with American girls. American girl, all American girls,
something like that. But this house was filled with You
got a pool in the background, he got a skateboards,
he got toys all over the place. And my daughter
warmed up to these kids instantly. And one of the kids, Preston,

(01:42):
went on to be a musician and a terrific musician.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
And I still thought she was like nine or ten
years old.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
And then Matt money Smith said, no, she's singing in
the national anthem at Crypto dot com last night.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
I couldn't believe it. And she's with us on the phone. Preston,
how are you?

Speaker 3 (01:59):
I'm great president.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
Are you nine or ten? How old are you now?

Speaker 3 (02:04):
I'm seventeen?

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Now seventeen? Okay, all right, Well it was quite a
while ago. I think the last time I ran into
was with my daughter. It must have been ten years ago.

Speaker 3 (02:14):
Oh my gosh, that's crazy. My dad was actually telling
me that he was a little bit scared to go
back to the crypto after what you did in was
media path.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
That's so I stole your dad's media pass so I
can get on the ice after the game.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
That was classic.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
I always remember that too, you know, walking around the
ice and and them holding up a Stanley cup. I
thought I'd never get there, but okay, so let's go
through this.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
President.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
You have a band, you have a big, like a
music career going.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
How did you get involved with the with the Kings?

Speaker 4 (02:46):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (02:46):
So I actually I was singing the national anthem down
the Steel Beach line to put on a Veterans Day
kind of just kind of ceremony, and they asked me
to sing the national anthem for them. So after I'd
saying that, and after the ceremony was over, someone that
works in Seal Beach and also was in charge of
representing the It was Greek Knight. It was Greek Heritage
Night at the King's. Okay, so this guy named Dino

(03:09):
super sweet, he comes up to me after my show
and he goes, hey, I'm in charge of getting somebody
to sing the national anthem of the King's game. Would
you like to do it? And I was I was
so shocked. I was like what Wow? Of course, So
that was that was basically it. It was just he
he asked me to do. I said, of course. He
got into contact with people, made them, made sure that
everybody was cool with it. And then next thing I know,

(03:30):
I'm on the ice and I'm shaking.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
Oh my god, that's a difficult song to sing. Did
you sing it with the Do you have guitar or
music or acapella?

Speaker 3 (03:39):
Actually I had an accompany. I was accompanied by a
Dieter on the organ.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
Oh that's great, Okay, that's a cool deal. I was
there the night before. I was there on Sunday when
they had the lesser entertaining harmonica group do the national anthem.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
I didn't see that.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
I'm sure it was great though it was not.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
I'll tell you that all right. So when when you
got to First of all, what time did you go on?
Did you go on around six thirty right before the game?

Speaker 3 (04:09):
Obviously game started at like seven thirty ish, so I
think I went on the ice. I think it was
like seven thirty, seven thirty five, okay.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
And what time do you get to Crypto for that?
Are you there like at four o'clock warming up with everybody?

Speaker 3 (04:22):
Actually I got there at five and sound check was
at like five ten.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
And how nervous were you on a scale of one
to ten.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
I don't think it actually hit until I was standing
in like just waiting to walk out on the ice.
The second I got into that pre room, my stomach
dropped to my feet. I've never experienced anything like that before.
I had to just I was just staring at the floor.
I think people were talking to me, and I just

(04:51):
had to seriously take a breath and be like, this
is happening. There's nothing I can do. Now, I'm going
on stage, and I just got to saying this, who.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
Is more nervous? You or your mom and dad?

Speaker 3 (05:01):
Oh my gosh. My mom told me after she goes,
I was so nervous, and then you said that you
were nervous. So I just told I knew I couldn't
say anything to you.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
My mom didn't say anything.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
It was just my dad, my sister. My sister was
kind of my It was kind of my rock that night.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
That's great, And because you know it was it was
the Rangers. It was a sellout and so you had,
you know, seventeen eighteen thousand people there.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
Yeah, it was. I was under the impression I go
to my dad I was. I was like, we was
there like two thousand people in here. He laughed in
my face. He's like, yeah, try try eighteen thousand.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:36):
So, I mean that just calmed my nerves a lot.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
That's a big deal. And what was the reception. I missed,
you know, they didn't play that on TV last night,
so I missed it.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
What was the reception like afterwards?

Speaker 3 (05:49):
Oh, my gosh, everybody was so nice. I mean I
had I had headphones in so I couldn't really hear anything,
but listening to the video afterwards, I think people liked it.
I hope they did.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
That's really it.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
Was great, right.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
I mean, look, you've done that. You've checked that off
at seventeen. There's a lot of people who are professional
singers who are in their fifties who never had that opportunity.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
That's a really cool deal.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
I know, I'm so grateful. I was so honored to
just be offered this opportunity, especially just like to sing
the national anthem is such an honor in itself, but
to sing it at a professional sports game is on
another level of just I was beside myself. I was
so shocked.

Speaker 5 (06:26):
It was surreal.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
That's so great.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
Plus you know, most kids at seventeen, they're like, you know,
you know, screw the United States.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
I hate the anthem.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
It's you know, filled with you know, language, it's oppressive
and all that stuff. But I'm glad you were brought
up properly to love that song and to be able
to sing that in front of eighteen nineteen thousand people's
a big deal.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
Of course, yeah it was. It was incredible and I
am just so thankful.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
All right, now, let's talk about the rest of your career.
How do people listen to your music?

Speaker 3 (06:55):
So you can listen to my music on all streaming
platforms it's under Preston Smith. That's Preston with a Y
instead of an L p R E S T y
N Smith is normal. Or you can check out my
social media platforms. I have on Instagram that same spelling,
Preston Smith Music, or on TikTok, I'm just Preston, but
you can go on any of those. You can go

(07:16):
to my YouTube, which is also Preston Smith Music. Check
out all my songs there. I post some like just
new originals that haven't hit streaming platforms yet on all
of those if you want to see what I'm working
on but if you want to just see the stuff
that's out, you can go Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora. Anything
really okay.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
And it's Preston p r E. S t y N. Smith.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
Yes, okay, that is sensational. Are you playing anywhere? You
got any gigs coming up?

Speaker 3 (07:45):
No crazy gigs coming up. I'm just playing around town
with my trio. But other than that, I'm kind of
just working on some more songs to release soon.

Speaker 1 (07:54):
Oh excellent, okay, all right, So Preston Smith on all platforms.
And I got to tell you, I know your dad
will you know, probably kill me for this. He talks
about you and your sisters all the time. He couldn't
be more proud. Every time you run into him, I'm like, hey,
how are the Lakers. He's like, well, Preston's doing this
like my other daughter's doing this. He is the world's

(08:16):
greatest dad. You got a great mom too. And and
I love the fact that you guys are living, you know,
this lifestyle out near the ocean. I gonna say, what city,
but out near the ocean it must just be a
you know, like a really cool hang.

Speaker 3 (08:30):
It's so great. I am so lucky to have such
supportive parents there. Literally, I would not be where I
am without both of their help. He I am. I'm
just I would not be here without him obviously, But
I mean, hey, they've done so much for me, and
they've supported me through all of my decisions and they're
just so great and I love them so much.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
That is so cool to hear.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
You know, a girl who's seventeen and properly raised in
southern California, And what a novel idea to have two
parents that are still together.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
It's crazy, right, all right?

Speaker 1 (09:05):
President, you always got a place here to promote your
stuff p R Y S. Sorry, let me spell it
again for the audience p R E S. T y N.
Smith and available on all platforms. I appreciate you coming
on anytime you got concerts or give joways, having an
open space here.

Speaker 2 (09:24):
To promote it.

Speaker 3 (09:25):
Thank you so much, Sam.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
You got it, and tell your parents. I said, hey,
we'll do.

Speaker 5 (09:31):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
There she goes Preston Smith singing the national anthem bellio.
I mean, look, I remember when you know she was four,
you know, buzzing around the hall, I know, and now
she's singing the national.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
Anthem seventeen years old. Now I know at Crypto dot
Com is a big deal, amazing, and she's gonna go
even bigger.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
Yeah, Preston Smith on all of the social media apps
and all the platforms to listen to music that is
really cool and to listen to you know, brings a
tier to your when you listen to a seventeen year
old talk about how great her parents are. I mean,
you know, and they're at that age they hate their parents,
you know, not all, no, not all. But I'm just

(10:11):
saying a lot of kids nice are you know, they
locked themselves, you know, into a lifestyle that doesn't really
include their parents. That's true, and she's the opposite, so
properly raised. I give the matt and carry a ton
of credit for them, a ton of credit.

Speaker 6 (10:26):
All right.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
We had our second chase, two chases today, unbelievable day
here in southern California. We covered both of them and
maybe we got forty five minutes left, maybe a trifecta,
maybe a hat trick.

Speaker 7 (10:41):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
Am six forty.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
And we wrapped up our second police chase for the day,
So that might be a wrap, two chases in one day,
both of them starting in the Semi Valley area. So
that was a big deal. We nail both of those,
both of them all right. Now, we got mosquitoes, mosquitos
coming out of these pools that are unattended to because
the fires and palisades, the Eating Fire, and we're gonna

(11:10):
get wiped out, wiped out by these mosquitoes this year.

Speaker 8 (11:13):
The good news is is crews have already started spraying
the areas that need to be sprayed to control the
mosquito population. As the cleanup in the Eating Fire burn
area continues, the San Gabriel Valley Mosquito and Vector Controlled
District is taking care of another area of concern, working
on controlling the mosquito population.

Speaker 1 (11:34):
Yeah, we've got to get chlorine tabs into these pools.

Speaker 9 (11:36):
Man.

Speaker 8 (11:37):
With all of the destroyed and damaged properties, there are
more than thirteen hundred pools that have been left unattended.

Speaker 10 (11:43):
Up to three million mosquite Do you hear that?

Speaker 2 (11:45):
How many pools unattended?

Speaker 8 (11:47):
There are more than thirteen hundred pools that have been
left unattended.

Speaker 1 (11:51):
Thirteen one hundred, and each pool can create three million mosquitoes.
So thirteen hundred. Multiply by three million, three thousand, three million,
we're talking four billion mosquitoes. Four billion mosquitoes. That's in

(12:17):
addition to all the regular mosquitoes we have in a
typical year, we have four billion extras extras. Of the
four billion, one of them has to bite you if
you got the blood that they're attracted to. This is
going to be a bad summer.

Speaker 8 (12:34):
There are more than thirteen hundred pools that have been
left unattended.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
Well.

Speaker 10 (12:38):
Up to three million mosquitoes can grow in one pool
in the span of a month, So our district is
starting to go out in the field address these pools,
particularly around the perimeter of the burn area, to be
able to manage mosquitoes and reduce the risk of mosquito
transmitted diseases.

Speaker 8 (12:57):
Septic tanks and other areas of standing water will be
pret as well. This is also a strong reminder for
yourself to check around your property to check for standing
water right the weather is just right for mosquitoes to
lay their eggs.

Speaker 6 (13:10):
I think the mosquito problem is something that I personally
haven't really thought about.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
But really, what have you been thinking about? You haven't
thought about three about an additional four billion mosquitos in
southern California.

Speaker 6 (13:24):
I think the mosquito problem is something that I personally
haven't really thought about, but it's something that can affect
our community in a negative way. So that's something definitely
think about.

Speaker 8 (13:35):
If you have property in the Burn area with the pool,
it's strongly recommending you contact Mosquito and Vector Control.

Speaker 10 (13:43):
This would really help us just identify where these pools.

Speaker 5 (13:46):
Are and ensure that we're.

Speaker 10 (13:47):
Getting to them quickly and that we're also maintaining them
or controlling mosquitoes throughout the year.

Speaker 8 (13:55):
Good news is for property owners, property taxes will take
care of the car. So just go to the San
Gabriel Valley Mosquito and Vector District website let them know
where your property is so they can take care of it.
Reporting live at Altadeen, I said Garcia, ABC seven Eye
Witness News.

Speaker 1 (14:14):
Okay, so it could be free, so you have no
excuse not to get those mosquitoes taken care of. It
could be absolutely free of charge. Next Saturday, not this Saturday,
but a week from Saturday is the Santa Nita Derby.
Santa Anita Derby is April fifth, which I believe is

(14:34):
two weeks a week from the Saturday. Let me look
that up. I think I'm right. Let's go a little
quick calendar. Yes, the twenty ninth is this Saturday, and
then April fifth is the week after this Saturday. So
we're about ten to eleven days away. Ten days away
from the Santa Nita Derby. Santannita Derby is a beautiful

(14:56):
day out there. It's a five hundred thousand dollars raise
one for three year olds. Usually the winner of the
Santa Anita Derby is one of the favorites in the
Kentucky Derby. Sometimes that works out. So it's gonna be
a great day for racing at Santa Anita. I went
out to Santannita on Saturday and they gave me a

(15:16):
bunch of tickets to give away. So I'm going to
tell you how you can get free tickets to Santa Anita. Okay,
here's what you do. All you have to do is
email me your name and your address. Okay, that's all
you have to do. No longer emails, no explaining of
why you need the tickets. I know, stories of how

(15:39):
you lost your ass out there when you were a kid. Nothing,
just your name, and your address, and I'll send you
four free tickets to the Santa Anita Derby. So here's
the Gmail address. Go to Santa Anita dot com. I'm sorry,
go to Santa Anita at gmail dot com. Go to

(16:02):
Santa Anita at gmail dot com. I personally will get
that email. Doesn't go to anybody else. I will read
it and I will put the tickets in the mail
and make sure you get them.

Speaker 2 (16:14):
A SAP.

Speaker 1 (16:15):
So I have enough for about I think I got
one hundred tickets, so enough for about twenty five people.
So just email me and I will personally send you
free tickets to the Santa Anita Derby. I'm going to
give you four tickets and you get out there and
enjoy the entire Saturday. So again the email address, go

(16:38):
to Santa Anita at gmail dot com. And it's not
the it's not the number two. It's gooto sant Anita
at gmail dot com. And I will send you those
tickets to night tonight. You'll probably get them before the
weekend and we'll see out at Santa Anita for the

(16:59):
big dirty It's a week from Saturday, big race at
Santa Anita.

Speaker 2 (17:03):
All right, that'd be a lot of fun.

Speaker 7 (17:05):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.

Speaker 1 (17:12):
We'll keep filling up requests for Sanity tickets as long
as I have them.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
They'll go to you.

Speaker 1 (17:18):
And I just text the guys at Sanita can we
get some more? And they said yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
So we're all going to sant Anita for April fifth
and the Santa Anita Derby. That is going to be
a great day to get out enjoy yourself. We've had
a tough winter, the fires, the floods, the earthquakes, the winds,

(17:41):
the hot week we had last week or earlier this week.
It's been a mess in southern California. So it's nice
to just get out and not worry about anything and
spend the day at the greatest ballpark, greatest park in
the world, Santa Anita. All Right, Netflix, somebody's in trouble.
Somebody is accused of fraud and stealing eleven million dollars

(18:05):
from Netflix.

Speaker 5 (18:06):
It's like a scene out of a movie.

Speaker 9 (18:08):
It was all this legal, but instead it's about a
movie or a movie maker that is. Carl Eric Rinch
arrested Tuesday over charges including wire fraud and money launder,
alleging he defrauded Netflix out of eleven million dollars. Acting
US attorney Matthew Podalski in a statement saying, quote, as alleged,
Carl Eric Rinch orchestrated a scheme to steal millions by

(18:30):
soliciting a large investment from a video streaming service, claiming
that money would be used to finance a television show that.

Speaker 5 (18:36):
He was creating.

Speaker 1 (18:37):
Ah and no show, but that was fiction. Oh no,
didn't come up with the show. They came up with
the money. Netflix did their part. Then the guy didn't
deliver the program.

Speaker 5 (18:49):
But that was fiction.

Speaker 2 (18:51):
Ding dong Well.

Speaker 5 (18:52):
Netflix isn't named in the indictment.

Speaker 9 (18:54):
In twenty eighteen, the filmmaker sold a sci fi series,
White Horses, to the streamer for forty four million dollars,
as first reported by The New York Times, and a
year later he said he needed more money to complete
the series. In March of twenty twenty, Netflix paid eleven
million more dollars to finish the show. According to the indictment,
prosecutors say quote, Rynch began transferring the funds he received

(19:15):
through a number of different bank accounts.

Speaker 2 (19:17):
Here we go here we go.

Speaker 9 (19:19):
Consolidating them in a personal Brokeridge account and in two
months lost more than half of it. Our attempts to
reach representation for Rynch were unsuccessful.

Speaker 1 (19:28):
Likely the transfer to these different accounts contributed to the
government's decision to charge money laundry and what.

Speaker 5 (19:34):
Else do prosecutors say he did with the money?

Speaker 2 (19:37):
According to the guests, I'll bet there's a gambling aspect
to this.

Speaker 9 (19:40):
According to the indictment, there was money spent to speculate
on cryptocurrency.

Speaker 1 (19:44):
Oh okay, all right, there's the gambling angle. You know
it wasn't in veguas, but certainly gambling on cryptos. These guys,
whenever they steal lots of money, there's always a gambling
aspect to it.

Speaker 9 (19:55):
One million, seven hundred and eighty seven thousand dollars in
credit card bills, over a million on lawyer fees to
sue Netflix, and even more for a divorce. He spent
three hundred and dollars.

Speaker 2 (20:06):
Oh that's where it got expensive.

Speaker 5 (20:08):
And even more for divorce.

Speaker 2 (20:10):
Oh boy, this guy's life is complicated now.

Speaker 9 (20:12):
He spent three hundred and ninety five thousand to stay
at the Four Seasons and other luxury rentals almost four
million on furniture and antiques, nearly seven hundred thousand dollars
on two mattresses.

Speaker 2 (20:23):
And wait a minute, how much on two mattresses?

Speaker 9 (20:26):
Nearly seven hundred thousand dollars on two mattresses.

Speaker 2 (20:29):
Oh, that guy got hosed.

Speaker 1 (20:31):
You can go to sit and sleep and get him
for half that, or a quarter of that, or a
tenth or one hundred Wait how much seven hundred thousand.

Speaker 9 (20:40):
Nearly seven hundred thousand dollars on two mattresses.

Speaker 1 (20:44):
Seven three hundred and fifty thousand dollars per mattress for
one bed three hundred and fifty thousand dollars. Now it
does sound like a lot. I'll give you that, But
can you imagine fing comfortable that bed is three hundred

(21:05):
and fifty thousand dollars. Mattress has to be like sleeping
on a cloud, perfect temperature, perfect firmness.

Speaker 2 (21:14):
Oh man, I'd like one of those.

Speaker 1 (21:17):
Bellyo when Christmas comes around, I'd like one of those
high end mattresses you got, Thank you, and.

Speaker 5 (21:23):
Almost three hundred thousand on the sheets, plus.

Speaker 1 (21:26):
Three hundred that the mattress was three hundred and fifty
thousand and three hundred thousand on the sheets.

Speaker 5 (21:32):
And almost three hundred thousand on the sheets.

Speaker 1 (21:34):
Wow, I'd love to sleep in that bed just for
one night.

Speaker 5 (21:38):
You don't. You don't want the sheets too, though, right,
I'd like the sheets.

Speaker 2 (21:41):
Yeah, I like the sheets.

Speaker 1 (21:43):
As a matter of fact, I'll take the sheets over
the mattress. Maybe three hundred they've got. The thread count
has to be through the roof, you know. Oh yeah,
it can't be like four. It's not like, you know,
sleeping on a tennis net. Yeah, oh that's uh wait
a minute, Please don't tell me this is another chase.

Speaker 5 (22:01):
Please tell me it is.

Speaker 1 (22:03):
We're we're on channel five and channel eleven. We've got
another chase. Is this one out of Seami Valley as well?
What's going on with everybody today? All right, let's flip
on channel five. We got our sells another chase. This
guy's dragging his bumper. That's that hat trick you were
talking about.

Speaker 2 (22:21):
Yeah, there is the hat trick. That's the trifecta. There
we go.

Speaker 1 (22:24):
Somebody responded, you know, you know, Tim, I think you
should play lotto.

Speaker 2 (22:28):
Yeah, here we go. One on one that's cranked the audience.

Speaker 4 (22:30):
You saw them try to execute a Pittman over there
on you know, they may have been going a little fast.
The pittmaneuver wasn't Universal Studio spin out, but the was
able to regain control. Uh and in the process the
rear bumper was nearly ripped off. And that's why in

(22:51):
the condition that is coming towards us maneuver attempt by CHP.
So they remain apparently.

Speaker 1 (23:02):
Coming up on Universal, coming up on Lankershim, and then
he'll come up on the one seventy freeway one oh
one northbound, screaming on.

Speaker 2 (23:11):
The shoulder, moving at a high rate of speed on
an office.

Speaker 1 (23:13):
Passing Universal Studios right now one o one northbound, coming
up on Lancashim. Maybe he'll get off at Lankersham. There's
a great in and out right there Flankersham. He is
going to get off at Lancersham, believe yes, seventy five
at rush hour. There he goes off at Lancersham. Is
he going to get off the freeway?

Speaker 2 (23:34):
I don't know, continues to run.

Speaker 1 (23:37):
Oh oh, he didn't get off at Lancershim moments ago.
All right, Well, his next stop will be on Vineland.
Probably he just crossed over Lankersham there's a guy in
convertible who's pissed. There's the Ventura Boulevard exit. Next one
will be Vineland, I imagine. Yeah, and then he'll come
up on the one oh one one seventy interchange. There

(24:00):
time one oh one northbound coming up on the one
seventy freeway. He'll have two options staying on the one
oh one going north towards Sherman Oaks, or staying on
the one oh one turning into the one seventy.

Speaker 2 (24:12):
And he'll go north towards Pacoima.

Speaker 1 (24:16):
But that freeway does not go eastbound on the one
thirty four.

Speaker 2 (24:20):
Cannot get there from where he.

Speaker 1 (24:22):
Is, all right, I imagine he's going to stay on
the one oh one and try to get through Sherman
Oaks area.

Speaker 2 (24:30):
Looks like that's the move. That's the move. That's the
move he might make.

Speaker 3 (24:34):
And No.

Speaker 1 (24:35):
One seventy one seventy one seventy he went for the
one seventy. Now he's going to go up on Magnolia
Burbank Oxnar not in that exact order, Victory Van.

Speaker 2 (24:45):
Owen Sherman Way.

Speaker 1 (24:48):
That's he's on the one seventy northbound Diamond Lane, dragging
that back bumper and we're watching him. Third high speed
chase of the day. What is going on, Los Angeles?
This one's Alexis. It is all right, high end car
with the low end bumper and that's popped off, and
he's everywhere on this freeway hour here. So if you're

(25:12):
on that freeway, look out, look up, look a here,
he's coming after him. One seventy north bound, coming up
on Burbank Oxnard. What's the else ound there? Victory? He
just passed Burbank. He just passed Burbank. Oh he was

(25:32):
talking to me, all right, So you just passed Burbank.
Come up on Oxnard.

Speaker 8 (25:36):
We haven't heard it.

Speaker 1 (25:37):
And then Victory will be the next exit, I believe there,
and then Sherman Way. So if he stays here, he'll
eventually hook up with the five Freeway. And you can't
go south on the five Freeway from the one seventy,
so he'll be going northbound.

Speaker 2 (25:53):
Oh, looks like he's going to get off here. May know.

Speaker 1 (25:54):
The area looks like this is Sherman Way or maybe
ox Start. Looks like ox Snart, all right, so he's
gonna get off at ox Start here. There's some private
schools there don't like this kind of crap. And he's
gonna have to go left or right. Here, he's going
to turn right, So he's going to turn right. If

(26:15):
he turns right, he's going to go towards Burbank. No,
he's turning left.

Speaker 2 (26:19):
Oh he went left. Oh he went straight. All right,
there's the mall there.

Speaker 1 (26:22):
He went straight into that mall that in that where
there's a you know, the shopping center. There's a Trender
Joe the La Fitness. That's that whole shopping center there
that he's trying to get into. The Oh, he's trying
to get into the garage at the five below there
to try to take the stink off him with the cops.
That's what he's trying to do. Yeah, my daughter goes

(26:42):
to that mall every day. She works in that area,
and I hope she's not there. No, she wouldn't be
there now seven o'clock. But he's getting into Okay, he's
going into the garage where he's gonna try to lose
the cops. He's in the garage of that big shopping
center out there right off the one seventy freeway.

Speaker 3 (26:58):
All right.

Speaker 1 (26:59):
Well, Chase of the Day ends up in the big
shopping center. What do they call that? No Ho West
or there was some kind of odd name for them.

Speaker 7 (27:08):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.

Speaker 1 (27:14):
The three high speed Chases has come to an end.
I don't know if they caught the guy. He went
into No Ho West, which is that shopping center where
May Company used to be off of Laurel Canyon and
the one seventy Freeway.

Speaker 2 (27:28):
There's a May Company there.

Speaker 1 (27:29):
There was an ice rink in there, and they tore
it all down to build that new shopping center with
a trader Joe's five below, Seize Candy, Starbucks, you know
all the stores that you run into it nowadays. And
he buzzed into the parking lot, ditched the car, and
it looks like he's Scott free.

Speaker 2 (27:47):
So once in a while.

Speaker 1 (27:48):
They get away. Maybe this guy did. Who knows nineteen
eighty three. I don't know how old you were in
nineteen eighty three. I was twenty. And a woman went
missing in nineteen eighty three in her Yoda's selica and they.

Speaker 2 (28:02):
Found her right now.

Speaker 11 (28:04):
Elgin police are still working to determine if those skeletal
remains are that of Kiaren Sheeper's after her car was
pulled out of the Fox River after more than forty years.

Speaker 1 (28:13):
Forty years ago, she drove her car either on purpose
or accidentally into the Fox River and they just found her.
That's in Illinois.

Speaker 11 (28:24):
Her brother and family still left wanting to know just
how it ended up.

Speaker 1 (28:28):
There skeletal remains. Since nineteen eighty three.

Speaker 12 (28:33):
We were pushing against a brick wall for forty two years,
and now it's starting to give.

Speaker 11 (28:38):
A decade's old mystery in Elgin now closer to being cracked.
Yet many pieces are still left to be put together
for Karen Sheeper's family since she disappeared in April of
nineteen eighty three. Wow, her brother speaking to me over
the phone, just hours after her car was pulled from
the water.

Speaker 12 (28:55):
It as questions more than it answers them. They only
searched it. I know of that was done in nineteen
eighty three. Was that my dad, who was an airline pilot,
rented a plane and flew over the area hoping he
could spot her yellow car.

Speaker 11 (29:09):
But police say Sheeper's car wasn't easily seen from above. Instead,
all this time it was submerged in the Fox River.

Speaker 1 (29:16):
You imagine what that family went through looking for guys
looking for his daughter for forty years.

Speaker 11 (29:21):
The now faded yellow car discovered Monday night when dive
teams matched the plate of the car to Sheeper's missing vehicle.

Speaker 12 (29:28):
I wish they'd have looked in the river and found
her car forty two years ago.

Speaker 11 (29:33):
Sheeper's was twenty three when she vanished after leaving the
carpenter's filled bar with a coworker. The colde case was
recently revived following the launch of an Eligent Police Department
podcast earlier this year.

Speaker 9 (29:45):
This is an extensive recovery process and is expected to
take some time.

Speaker 1 (29:49):
Man that poor family looking for that daughter, or looking
for their sister for forty two years.

Speaker 8 (29:55):
And as a reminder, this will be treated as a
crime scene now.

Speaker 11 (29:59):
The family of the on's computer programmer still must wait
while the Kane County Corridor determines if the human remains
found are that of Karen Sheeper's.

Speaker 12 (30:08):
The feeling today is not that much different from the
feeling day before yesterday. Oh my god, I still don't
know where she is. I still don't know what happened
to her.

Speaker 11 (30:20):
Police say her car was taken to a secure storage
location and say the coroner's investigation to identify possible as
human remains could quote take some time.

Speaker 2 (30:29):
Oh what a horrible story.

Speaker 1 (30:31):
All right, there's a rumor going around on the internet.
It's not true that Chipotle was closing. It turns out
it's all.

Speaker 9 (30:39):
Bs hy, David, and then Chipotle says, stop bussing, We're fine.

Speaker 13 (30:44):
Indeed, Chipoti wants you to know they are not going bussed,
thank you very much. This is the latest example of
rumors that can circulate on social media that obviously can
cause a lot of harm, not just individuals, but also
the businesses. In this case, rumors of a looming collapse
of Chipotle, a bankruptcy filing and closure of their stores

(31:05):
started spreading last week after a Spanish media outlet reported
on the closure of far Mesa Fresh eatery, which is
a spinoff vnture that Chipottle had invested in. But some
people misunderstood that story about far Mesa and instead started
posting on Twitter akax that Chipotle is going bankrupt and

(31:26):
closing down all of its stores. It had gotten so
bad that a Chappos Chippotly spokesperson had to issue a
statement saying no, no, this is all wrong. In fact,
the article in fact was inaccurate across the board, in
fact for what it is.

Speaker 1 (31:41):
Okay, So Chipotle is going to remain open. One of
these small subsidiaries restaurant that they had invested in closed down.

Speaker 2 (31:51):
All right?

Speaker 1 (31:51):
That feature is yeah, I know, Stephuspan he was panicking
in there. That feature was brought to you by Advanced Tare.
Look at that one day treatment life change results. Make
your appointment today at advancedhair dot com. Don't forget Tomorrow
is the Dodger opener. The rings will not be given
out tomorrow on Thursday. The championship rings will be given

(32:12):
out on Friday, Friday Night's game at a ceremony that starts,
I believe at six point fifteen. So if you're gonna
go to tomorrow night's game, enjoy yourself. They're gonna play
the Detroit Tigers. Go back on Friday. If you want
to see your favorite Dodger get his ring for the
World championship that they won last year over the New
York Yankees, that should be a cool time. So Friday

(32:35):
is ring Day at Dodger Stadium on a day here
at KA five three high speed chases, three of them
a hat trick, a trifecta. We've never had three in
a single show, and we finally had three of them.
Two of them were caught or two groups were caught.
Where group of three kids were caught. Another guy who's
caught in San Monica, and that looks like the other

(32:56):
one may have gotten away in NoHo West. That new
shot popping center right off of Laurel Canyon, ox Snard Burbank,
right there near the one seventy Freeway.

Speaker 2 (33:05):
Big day right here on KFI.
