St. Jude’s Hospital in Fullerton had to partially evacuate after a bomb threat, and guests were left stranded when the hotel chain Sonder abruptly shut down one of its properties. Target is rolling out its “10-4” holiday strategy, and Conway floated the idea that he might—might—become an Anaheim Ducks fan.

Dean Sharp, The House Whisperer, joined us to talk about the incoming rain and what homeowners can actually do during a storm—mainly buckets, tarps, and sandbags—and what the right steps are after the weather clears to fix roof leaks, drainage issues, and water intrusion the proper way.

The Conway Show “flipped” as Aldik Home set up their annual Christmas tree spectacular, and Dean & Conway chatted with Brian Gold and Rosie about holiday décor, lighting, and the art of making your home feel warm for the season.

A major storm is expected to hit on Friday and Saturday, bringing heavy rain and potential flooding concerns across SoCal.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's KFI Am sixty and you're listening to The Conway
Show on demand on the iHeartRadio app. Hotel Nightmare guests
were left stranded after hotel chain suddenly abruptly just shut
its doors and it's over.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
It's a hotel horror story for travelers around the world.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
We just got evicted from our hotel.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Guests left in the lurch after a major hotel breakup.
Marriott ending its partnership with the short term rental company
Sondra over the weekend citing its default, the chain arrival
to Airbnb abruptly announcing bankruptcy, and now guests of Sonder
properties finding themselves kicked out, now lorded by just a
sign on the door.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
They're saying basically that we need to move everything out
with less than twenty four hour notice, and scrambled to
find another who's helped him.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
So, okay, let's go to breaking news here in fuller in.

Speaker 4 (00:54):
Other locations, I believe, schools, but right now they are
assisting in this hospital evacuation. Again. We're still trying to
get some more information. As we get some more, O
bring right to your reporting life from Air seven on
Chris Christie, ABC seven I would do had some reason.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
Why are they evacuating that hospital? They say it was
a bomb threat? Oh bo oh, my god. These poor people.
You know, when you're in the hospital, you're just trying
to get better. Every little thing matters, you know, the
food you eat, the people that come by to visit you,
the medicine you got to take. Your body's on fire,

(01:29):
you're probably in pain, you're exhausted, and now you got
to worry that some lunatic has called in a bomb
threat and they have to take you and your bed
out of the hospital. It's the worst, it's the absolute worst.
Hope they find out who did that and who's blowing
up hospitals. Where are you in life? Usually that comes

(01:51):
from somebody who thinks, who's out of beef with the hospital.
They think they weren't treated right, or they think that
they had a or poor diagnosis that led to, you know,
further injury, or a loved one passed away and they
blamed the hospital. Then they get pissed or an insurance company,
and that's usually at the root of all this stuff.

(02:14):
So we'll find out all right. Back to the hotel nightmare.
These people thrown out of the hotel while they're on vacation.
Thrown out of the hotel.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
They're saying basically that we need to move everything out
with less than twenty four hour notice and scrambled to
find another Hoo's helped.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
So here we are hostle homeless.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
Sounder employees also confirming they were laid off.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
This was all dropped on us abruptly and it's a
bit heartbreaking.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
The company saying it was left with quote no choice
other than to proceed with an immediate wind doown of
our operations.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Yeah, so the employees are all now out of work too.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
And Maria saying its priority is supporting current guests and
minimizing disruption.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
What do we do?

Speaker 5 (02:54):
Are we going to be able to even find a
hotel in New York City at Christmas time with three
weeks notice?

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Was once an up and coming company challenging Airbnb with
stays in forty cities around the world and perks like
digital check ins.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
How's that going?

Speaker 2 (03:08):
That's over after struggling during the pandemic, striking a licensing
deal with Marriott last year, But now the company says
it's liquefying all its assets, leaving travelers from Miami to Paris,
wondering and what comes next.

Speaker 6 (03:21):
It's pouring outside and you don't know what to do.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
So what is next for guests?

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Right? Marriott says that they're going to be contacting travelers
who booked directly through their website and app to address any.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
Booking concerns, but those who book through.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
A third party travel agency are asked to contact those companies.
NBSC News has reached out to both Sonder and Marriott
for further comment. So far, guys, we have not heard.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
Now then, okay, all right, let's talk about Target here.
Target has a brand new approach here of friendliness for
the holidays. Seems odd that you've got to remind people
to be friendly, but that's what's going on. Target looking
for a much better year this year than last. Remember
they were at the heart of all those protests last year.

(04:07):
All right, Target, great storm. I go to one the
Empire study here in Burbank, beautiful store, and let's find
out what's going on with them this Christmas at Target.

Speaker 5 (04:15):
With the holiday shopping season already underway, Christmas.

Speaker 6 (04:19):
Is the greatest day in the whole white world.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
That's right.

Speaker 5 (04:21):
Some retailers are putting holiday spirit at the top of
their wish list target rolling out a new guest engagement
program called ten four.

Speaker 7 (04:29):
This smiling Way, Boys, Smiling Wave at.

Speaker 5 (04:33):
Ten feet, employees are being instructed to smile and wave
to customers and use welcoming body language. If a shopper
is just four feet away, they're expected to personally greet
them and initiate a warm, helpful interaction.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
How do you know if you're ten feet you should
smile or your four feet you should engage? What the hell?

Speaker 5 (04:54):
The retailer's chief stores officer, calling it one of their
new ways to increase connection during the most important in
time of year.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
Belly, I'm going to adopt that policy around here. If
you're ten feet, if you're within ten feet of me,
you should leave me alone. If you're within four feet
of me, really leave me alone. You're too close. That's right,
that's right. Yeah, it's called the Zelman's rule. Leave me
alone alone. But anything short of that is considered an attack, right,

(05:25):
exactly right. Yeah, don't attack me with gifts and kindness.
Do not get within ten or we could go up
to five. You guys, stay within ten. Ten or more
would be preferable. Ten or more. Hey, can we talk
about coast flipping or not. Is that not public knowledge?
They're promoting it. It's on Oh it is. Yeah, Okay,
So they're flipping tomorrow at eight am. Yes, are you going? Yes,

(05:47):
you're not. No, no, okay, but I am going. You're
flipping tonight. So right, we're flipping. Yeah, yeah, later yeah,
seven pm, we'll flip to another host at seven pm.
Detroit has just scored again. So Detroit, with nineteen minutes
left in the third period, is beating your Anaheim Ducks
four to two. And I'm toying with becoming an Anaheim

(06:10):
Ducks fan. How about that. You would never ever hear me,
you know, ten years, five years ago saying I might
become a Ducks fan. But I'm telling you this guy
who is coaching him, this Joel Quinninville. He was from
He's had a long career in hockey. He coached, he
was the head coach of the Chicago Blackhawks when they

(06:33):
won two Stanley Cups in the twenty teams. And he
has set this team up to win. They're winning, they're leading,
They're ahead of everybody else in the Western Division in
the NHL, in the NHL West, they have I think
twenty five points. They've won up until two nights ago
and they lost to Denver. They had won seven straight

(06:56):
and this is a fast, exciting team to watch, these
Anaheim Ducks. I know, Angel, you're gonna throw up, but
I might become a Ducks fan. I might throw that
jersey on and stick and just laugh in your face.
I'm already throwing up.

Speaker 8 (07:12):
Okay, as soon as especially since they've got the old
Hawks coach.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
Yeah, but I like that old Hawks coach, and he
when he takes over a team, he takes over everything.
What are the Kings have? They got a forty year
old's I think they have three forty year olds on
the team and a general manager who's just turned ninety eight.
So nice young squad over there at Crypto dot com. Yeah,
doing great. But these Ducks, they're young, they're hungry, and

(07:40):
they're happening. I might become a Ducks fan. Me and
Tim Lynn throw that Ducks jersey on. Oh my god,
most seek him and misk would disown me. They'd never
talk to me again. But Ducks. I think it'd be
hard to do, but I think you can do it.
I think you'd have to just hold your nose for
a while until you get you know, you get to

(08:00):
know the players. Are you allowed to be both? No, no,
not at all. I don't know anybody in the world.
It's both nobody. That's like being a Saint Louis fan
and a Chicago fan. Nobody is both. No, one, not
in the history of the world. Tim Lin's hooting and
hollering right now. Yeah, he's watching this game, probably all
buzz I heard him on earlier talking about this chase,

(08:22):
the early chase he was on I think KTLA he
was there. Yeah, yeah, great, great job, great job, dude.
All right, we got to take a break care we're
coming back a Dean Sharp is with us. We'll talk
to Dean about how you can protect your home from
the imminent rain that are coming up. Two storms are
coming up. They're going back to back, two back to

(08:43):
back storms. I'm gonna start using that term. Two back
to back storms one after the other coming up Friday
and Saturday. We're live on KIM six forty.

Speaker 9 (08:52):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM sixty.

Speaker 1 (08:59):
Dean Sharp is with us. He's on every Saturday from
six to eight am, and he's also on Sunday from
nine am until noon, and he's been involved with Aldacombe
for a long time. Dean, You're right. They are putting
up a Christmas tree here in the studio. Rosie and
Brian are here decorating it right now, and man, I
can't wait until you see it. It's a more of

(09:20):
a traditional look this year than it was last year.
Looked spectacular, had the whole setup and everything. He's not
with us, Hey, Tim, Hey Dean, how you Bob?

Speaker 6 (09:33):
Yeah, apparently I'm sitting on a glitchy connection here, but
I'm I'm fine.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
I was just saying that Aldercolm, that Brian Rosie are
doing an unbelievable job. I can't wait to see this tree.
Oh yeah, are.

Speaker 6 (09:46):
They there now there, right now here? Oh my gosh, yes,
decorating right now. That's he here in the background.

Speaker 1 (09:52):
That's awesome. That's awesome. It really is terrific. Hey, So
rain's coming up? Yeah, got Friday and Saturday unbelievable rainstorms.
I went last night to home Depot and they had
four or five huge boxes of those quick dam and
I bought two of those just in case because we
do get a flood. In the bag but man, those
are worth every dollar, every dime you spend on them.

(10:13):
The ten footers or twenty six dollars, and then the
individual bag ones those I think are thirty nine dollars,
but you get six, you know, the equivalent of six
sandbags that expand when they get wet, and they're.

Speaker 6 (10:27):
Terrific exactly, and you know what, they're not sandbags, which
makes it right.

Speaker 1 (10:32):
Just we're worth it, so worth it. They weigh less
than a pound.

Speaker 6 (10:36):
You're just walking out of the store with everything underneath
your arm. These are basically for people aren't aware of
what a quick dam is.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
It is. It's basically a diaper for your home, right,
I mean it looks exactly like a sandbag.

Speaker 6 (10:48):
Yeah, yeah, it fills up once the rain hits, once
the water hits it, it fills up, and then it
gets real heavy with that water and then it becomes
the sand bag that it needs to be. So it's
got that same kind of like a diaper absorbent material inside.
It's unbelievable. They are worth every penny. And at this
point somebody just asked me, actually they just asked me, so, Deane,

(11:12):
the rain's coming, what can I do?

Speaker 1 (11:13):
And I'm like nothing, You're screwed. It's so late.

Speaker 6 (11:16):
It's you know, here's what you've got time to do.
If you know you've got leaks, if you know you're
going to have a flooding issue, you've got like like
two and a half hours to get down to the
big box store before they close at nine before the rain.
Because the rain's going to hit around here about nine
thirty or ten o'clock is going to really start rolling.
And at that point, you know what, just pick up
some of these quick dam flood barriers and some buckets

(11:41):
if the ceiling, and some plastic and just ride it out. Okay,
here's the thing. I love your house. I love you more.
I don't want you up on a ladder while it's
rain and trying to fix a leak. Just ride it out,
and then, you know, on Sunday Sunday Show, we're actually
going to be talking about how to evaluate what happened
after the fact. But it's about to start raining about

(12:02):
nine o'clock to nine. Apparently it's not going to stop
until I don't know, February or something.

Speaker 1 (12:06):
That's right.

Speaker 6 (12:08):
But here's the good news, all right, If we want
a silver lining in all of this, if this storm
proves out, or storms prove out to be everything they're
expecting them to be, fire season is over.

Speaker 1 (12:19):
Yeah that's true. Yeah, you're exactly right. Yeah yeah. One
saving grace silver lining is what is your theory on gutters.
I have heard both that you know, it's not that
bad for your house, we don't get enough rain. But
then I also heard it is really necessary to keep
water away from the foundation of your home.

Speaker 6 (12:38):
Uh, yeah, you know, yes, both things are true. It's
important to keep water away from the foundation of your home.
And so we don't want an overt amount of water
pouring off the roof, right, you know, and then heading
towards the side of the slab or the side of
the race foundation, because you're just asking for trouble. So

(12:59):
if utters are the answer there, gutters aren't always. They're
not the only answer for that. By the way, if
you've got to really absorb in flower bed or planting
up against the side of the house that can actually
absorb some of that water, that's fine too, Okay, But
gutters are always a good idea in general. But when
it comes to gutters, I'm going to spend some time
doing this on Sunday too. I'm gonna let the designer

(13:20):
talk a little bit as far as gutters are concerned,
because I want you, if you're going to gutter the house,
I want you to do it right, do it once,
do it right, do it in a way that is
totally functional, so that they do their job, but they're
going to last, and they're also going to add to
the aesthetic of the house all at the same time.

(13:41):
And that can totally be done with the right gutter situation,
and it can totally be ruined if you just go
and get like those PVC vinyl gutters and you throw
them up and you don't worry about the rest because
at that point, not only are those things going to
fail you eventually, but as far as I'm concerned, they
failed you on day one when you put.

Speaker 1 (13:59):
The Yeah, you've never been a big fan of that
PVC on anything like fences or anything. I'm not. I'm not.

Speaker 6 (14:06):
I'm not a big fan because because number one, it
looks like plastic. It feels like plastic because it's plastic.
And also, you know what, you know how your PVC
patio furniture just deteriorates, and you know every year they
tell us, oh, no, no, No, this product has UV
guards in it.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
Yeah, right.

Speaker 6 (14:26):
You know what, I've yet to see PVC sit out
in the sun. It's not the rain. Rain isn't the
problem with those vinyl gutters. It's the sun all the
rest of the year that just keeps breaking them down.
So and also not a huge fan. It'll also color
them too. They turn yellow. Yeah, they're yellow. They're yellow,
and then they crack. Yeah, all right, so rain is

(14:47):
coming in. I think it's a great idea to get
these quick dams. I've not seen them at Low's. I've
only seen him at Home Depot. Is that a deal?

Speaker 1 (14:55):
Does Home Depot have an exclusive on that or am?

Speaker 6 (14:57):
I don't think so, you know what, I can't I
can't speak for Lows, but I was just actually this
afternoon at Ace Hardware and they were sitting right out
by the door too, So I don't think.

Speaker 1 (15:06):
I don't think. Yeah, they got smart because I remember
two years ago we had horrible rain. Home Depot sold
out immediately. But you can buy two of these and
you don't have to use them this year or next year.
They can stay on a shelf. I imagine the shelf
life is probably infinite.

Speaker 6 (15:22):
Oh it is it is. They can just sit there
waiting for the emergency. There's no expiration date on these things.

Speaker 1 (15:28):
But you know what I see all the time again,
Dean Sharp is with us every Saturday Sunday morning here
on KFI. The people that put that big plastic sheeting
on the hillside and then they weigh it down with
sand bags. Almost every single one of them, without exception,
looks like it was poorly installed. It's flying around, flipping around.
You know, half the mountains not covered. Nobody can get

(15:53):
that assignment right. Nope, it's crazy. It's just everything's working
against you.

Speaker 6 (15:59):
Water's working again, does you, Gravity's working against you, wind
is working. I mean, everything is literally working against you.
That's why when people ask me, so what kind of
material should I put on my hillside? There's one answer. Plants. Plants.
Put plants on your hillside. Nothing holds a hillside and
place better and plants and their roots and deeper.

Speaker 1 (16:19):
That's right, excellent. I'm gonna go back and talk more
with Dean Sharp. We got rain coming in tomorrow and Saturday,
and we'll talk more about what you can do and
how you can you know, I sort of get ready
for it. We're live on caf I Am six forty.

Speaker 9 (16:34):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.

Speaker 1 (16:40):
Before we get to our guests here, the people in
Toronto have got to be again pulling their hair out.
The Los Angeles Kings have just beat the Toronto Maple
Leafs in overtime in a game that they shouldn't have won.
They were losing the whole game, and they scored late
in the game to hied up and then scored in overtime.

(17:02):
And again La comes in and wins a game that
they shouldn't have and beats Toronto. That has got to
be horrible for Toronto. Okay, Dean Sharp, you've been working
with Aldacom for a long time. We have Brian and
Rosie here in the studio who just put together this
beautiful tree and and Dean, I know that you can't.
You don't talk out of school, and neither does Rosie

(17:24):
or Brian. And without giving names, you guys get a
lot of celebrities in that store. We do. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
you do. Hey, Brian, how you go man?

Speaker 7 (17:32):
You get you know, celebrities who just love Christmas and
they know the only place to get the best stuff
is that our store.

Speaker 1 (17:38):
Yeah, you don't. We don't have headphones, so you didn't
hear it. But Dean Sharp said you owe him money.
Is that true. I'm not sure that's true, but he
just said, the belly has got some of my headphones
for you. Here. Rosie, you're the decorator. You've decorated over
five hundred of these trees. People can go to Aldick Home.

(18:01):
It's on Sepulva. You know that high speed chase went
right by your store today, that that first chase went
right by your store around two forty five. It did.

Speaker 7 (18:09):
I think they were coming to look for some Christmas stuff.

Speaker 1 (18:11):
And nobody stopped in. Huh, nobody stopped in. But Dean,
you have been working with ALDK for quite some time.
I went and took a tour of Aldick with you,
and I couldn't believe not only the great winter stuff,
but the beautiful furniture they have and the and the
summer furniture that they have is incredible. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (18:29):
ALDK is one of the most difficult to describe and
put your thumb on its stores that I've that I've
ever known, and and they're just awesome in every category.
So whether you know it's silk flowers during the rest
of the year, trees, custom made trees. I just had
a client in there who will remain unnamed, who we

(18:50):
just did. We just built you know, Tao just built
me four trees for their house. Oh wright indoor trees right, uh,
just unbelievable stuff. And then during this they literally carry
the world's best patio furniture. And then you know, come
October it's winter wonderland time. And if you've never been,
I'm just gonna say this again, if you've never been

(19:12):
down to Aldacombe for the for Christmas, you've got to
get there because to a person, I've never coaxed somebody
into that store who didn't walk out with their jaw
just like hanging open. They're like, I have no idea
that things could look like that, and yeah, exactly exactly.
And not only that, but they I mean people families

(19:34):
come in. Brian, I guess I'll ask you just to
take photos, you know, like Christmas photos they do.

Speaker 7 (19:40):
They we see them on the weekend, all dressed up,
nine in the morning, all the kids all dressed up,
and they stand in front of their favorite tree.

Speaker 1 (19:47):
Are all the trees up already for the year.

Speaker 7 (19:49):
They are all fifty three trees are all fully decorated,
and then sixty something in the tree lot.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
And what's the website? Aldkhome dot com, correct home dot com.

Speaker 6 (20:01):
Tim, how does that tree look like a studio? You know,
we're gonna put a picture of it up on social media.
But Dean, you're gonna love it.

Speaker 1 (20:08):
This year. It's it's more traditional. There's no flocking on it.
All of the ornaments are like either Santa Claus or
bears or or you know, just standard ornaments. But it
looks like at like an old school, really beautiful tree
this year. Love it?

Speaker 6 (20:24):
Has he set the lights to pastel? No oh no,
the lights are changing. Yeah, Brian, you got to set
the lights to pastell. Man, everybody's gonna freak out.

Speaker 1 (20:34):
All right, We're gonna send it to set it to
a pastel. But man, you can change the lighting on
it here. And what is that tree? Obviously, if somebody
wanted to come into al they could buy that tree, yes,
and take it home and put up themselves. Or Rosie.
That's where Rosie comes in.

Speaker 7 (20:51):
They can set it up themselves and we'll teach you
how to do it, or they could hire one of
our guys to set it up for them and show
them how to do it the first year. Than our designers.

Speaker 1 (21:01):
They can be.

Speaker 7 (21:01):
Hired out to decorate the trees. But we have all
of our trees on display in person. You don't have
to take a shot at buying something online that you
know how it goes online. You see something that maybe
it looks good, and then you.

Speaker 1 (21:17):
Get it right it sucks.

Speaker 7 (21:18):
Yeah, and you've figured you just got catfished by a
Christmas tree company online. You don't have to do that
with us. You could come see them, oh good in
person and we'll show you what makes them the best
quality artificial Christmas trees anywhere in the country.

Speaker 6 (21:32):
You know what, it's not even that, it's just and
I'm serious. I love it when I don't have to exaggerate,
and I have to convince people that I'm not exaggerating
because you know, as a designer, I have dealt with
every imaginable kind of artificial tree ever. And I'm telling you,
these are the finest artificial Christmas trees on planet Earth.
I have yet to find one that out straps the

(21:56):
age gold trees at Aldacombe. They're just they're just unbelo unbelievable.
By the way, Tim, you know what. A week from Sunday,
A week from this Sunday, we're doing our live holiday
show sponsored by Aldi and Brian and Rosie and the crew,
they're gonna be here live and they're gonna be decorating
another tree, a tree just like this one in the

(22:18):
in the help of Honda Lounge. And then by the
time we're done at the end of the show, we're
giving that whole thing away.

Speaker 1 (22:25):
Wow, that's a great gift. That really is a terrific gift.
I love Brian's story that he came in to help
his parents who owned the store ten years ago, just
to get him up on social media and never left,
never left. Yeah, they captured you and kept you, they did.
I love going to the store. It's I guess we can.

(22:48):
You know he's no longer with us. I know you
don't like to use celebrity names, but Michael Jackson was
a big fan. He was and you come in often.
He did.

Speaker 7 (22:55):
That's fantastic, Yeah, and super nice and loved loved this
store and it was it was great.

Speaker 1 (23:02):
And the store is on Sepulvita. I think it's just
north of it, between Burbank and Sherman Wayne. It's further north.

Speaker 7 (23:10):
It's north of Sataquay, north of Satiquy and Roscoe.

Speaker 1 (23:15):
Okay, Pula on Pula, And you're sitting right next to
Harbor Freight, a store that I never go in. That's
a classic.

Speaker 6 (23:26):
Just find Harbor Freight and go next door. That's all
I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (23:30):
Yeah, for guys who are not really into tools, slide
into Harbor fright, buddy. I appreciate you coming on. We'll
talk to you next week and we'll keep promoting that
big party of yours. All right. All right there he
goes Dean Sharp every Saturday morning sixty eight am and
then Sunday nine am until noon. Brian, thanks for coming in, Rosie,

(23:51):
thanks for coming in. And go to Aldacolm. It's a
very The Christmas season has already started and you can
get your trees there. And we bought this about before
I knew you, was about ten years ago. We bought
one of those fake box trees and I set it
up at home and my wife said, uh, what's wrong

(24:11):
with this tree? And I said, what do you mean?
She goes, well, it still looks like a box. It
was still square. She goes, I don't think this is
the way it's supposed to look. I'm like, all right,
we took it back and we got a real tree,
but this is the best place to go. What are
your hours.

Speaker 7 (24:24):
We're open nine to nine Monday through Saturday, in ten
to six on Sundays.

Speaker 1 (24:29):
Excellent, okay, Aldickolm dot com, Aldikcolm dot com, thanks for
coming into both of you. Beautiful tree. You can see
it on social media. Bellyes taking pictures of it. It's
always the beginning of Christmas, in the highlight of this
season to get that tree done. And everybody here enjoys it.
Bill Handle likes it, Amy King, I know, Shannon Farren
always goes off about how great it is, and also

(24:51):
John colevelt Gary Hoffman as well. We're live on kf
I AM six forty.

Speaker 9 (24:57):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on de Mayo. It's
from KFI AM sixty.

Speaker 1 (25:05):
We have weather coming in, lots of rain tomorrow and Saturday.
It was supposed to arrive earlier today but it never
showed up. But it's on its way. It's on its way,
and you don't want to be caught not knowing, so
you got to keep it on KFI and find out
where all the heavy stuff is. I'm looking at a

(25:26):
radar right now. We're under a flood watch and I'll
give you more details about that, but it looks like
the big, huge cell is off the coast of San
Diego right now. So if you live in San Diego,
a major, major cell coming your way, coming right towards

(25:47):
San Diego and Tijuana, mostly towards now. Looks like San Diego. Yeah,
San Diego and Tijuana, they're going to get doused. It's
going to dump on Oh Bellio, You're going to be thrilled.
This big cell is coming to Irvine and it's going
to be there at eight twenty eight twenty about eight
twenty pm. Yeah, that's beautiful. You got to get home quick.

(26:11):
It's on its way San Diego ocean side about eight o'clock,
starting around eight o'clock, this huge cell, and it's just
a river. It's not going to quit. It's going to
as soon as it starts around well, let's go, let's
see here, seven to fifty. As soon as it starts
in most areas between San Diego and Irvine around seven

(26:31):
fifty there's a river that is not going to quit.
It will keep coming. It looks like a warmer storm
that they predicted, though it looks like it's coming mostly
out of the south. Originally they predicted it coming from
the north, but it looks like most of this precipitation
is coming from the south, so warm air and lots

(26:51):
of rain. It's a river, it just it's it extends
hundreds of miles. It looks like three four hundred miles
of one storm that's coming right towards Los Angeles. So
it's coming a little late, but it's on its way,
and you have got to be aware of that because

(27:12):
especially in the Burnscar area, got to be aware of this.
It is going to It could literally wipe your property out,
of course.

Speaker 8 (27:20):
Live one looking from the San Peter Long Beach area
out towards the Rancho Palace Verdes communities, and this is
prefrontal cloud cover that continues to roll on in and
the moisture is now rolling on into southern California. Late
in Nature and much of La County, you could see
Orange County. The i E still looking at some partly
cloudy skies for the time being. But everybody's going to

(27:40):
get their dose as we make our way through the
night tonight, a little bit of a closer look up
towards the Channel Islands, the Point Conception area.

Speaker 1 (27:47):
Okay, that's another area they're going to get a little
later than we are. Don't forget your Belinda. We are
coming to your neighborhood. We are going to invade the
store there, the Smart and Final next week from tomorrow,
November twenty first, four to eight pm. We're going to
extend it by an hour so everybody can buzz on
buy and we'll be raising money for Catarina's Club. We

(28:09):
will have auction items as well. We'll have food samples,
there'll be giveaways, special gift bags that Bellio's putting together.
Those will be hot for the first two hundred and
fifty people that show up. Two hundred and fifty people
and that's that's that's a doable number. When we had
our Wendy's remote last year around this time, we had

(28:32):
three hundred and twenty five people show up at Wendy's.
So it's totally doable and I think it's going to
be a great event. That'll be one week from tomorrow.
One week from tomorrow and It's going to be a
fantastic event, So get on out there. It's very simple.
Twenty one five zero zero two one five zero zero

(28:55):
your Belinda Boulevard and it's going to be an awesome,
awesome event, all right. Penrose is coming up right now
on KFI AM six forty Conway Show on demand on

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
