help. Yeah, police officer wasthat out ner u Croche and you out

(00:25):
to rally some help for this youngman. Let me play the story.

some assistance. First crash happened earlierthis month as a suspect was taken into
custody, but now the officer's familyis by his side at the hospital as
he tries to pull through. Iwould decision of Latisia Wantas spoke with his

(00:46):
colleagues and has more and how they'retrying to help. Kavino Police officer Jesse
Gouterres has led a life of service, first as a US Marine and now
as a police officer. On Maysixth, during a pursuit, Guitarras was
critically injured while protecting his community.Heard a long bang and we came out
and we saw the Camino PD withthe canine got an accident. They were

(01:10):
chasing. I guess a suspect.Eduard O Wrangles Cafe is across the street
from where Gutarra's patrol car slammed intoa cement sign. He says. Firefighters
use the jaws of life to getGuitarras and his cannine partner Paco out of
the patrol car. Because of thehead injury, they have Sedata Officer Gutierras.
He's been in sedation for a weekand a half. I think that's

(01:34):
how you pronounced the name. Ithink it's Gutierras. Sorry, but first
four uh get a mess Poco outof the patrol car. Because of the
head injury, they have Sedata OfficerGutierras. He's been in sedation for a
week and a half. Chief DavidPavero says good Terra's has been with the

(01:55):
department for four years. The husbandand father of two young boys, is
also the families sole provider. ThePolice Associations of Kavina has partnered with the
Peace Officers Research Association of California toraise funds to assist and support Guta's family.
Even though the city of Kamina isfully supportive behind Officer gutiers and his

(02:15):
care and we'll take care of that. There's financial gaps that occur that we're
trying to bridge. It's just unfortunatelythat something like that would happen, you
know. Hopefully we can help themout. The fund hero campaign for Good
Terra's is up and running on thePeace Officers Research Association of California website.
As for his canine, Paco, thankfully uninjured. He's gone to a veterinarian

(02:36):
and got a clean bill of healthwhile gid Terra's undergoing treatment and the intensive
care unit. His brothers and sistersin Blue are rallying to support his family.
Okay, here's how you can helpout if you'd like to help this
young man. How about identifying you. I shut that down. It's po
r AC and that's the that's thewebsite, and I think it stands for

(02:58):
either police or police or Peace awOfficers Research Association of California. I think
it's Peace Officers. So it's it'sp r A c p r AC and
just type in Covina Police Officer andyou'll find it there. The campaign goal
is at fifty thousand. A lotof people have donated, which is sensational.

(03:22):
A lot of people out in theCovina area. They're already at thirty
two thousand, five hundred and fortyfive dollars. And this guy is an
ex marine also a police officer, dedicating his life to you know, saving
us and helping us out. Andnow when he needs help, I think
it's our turn, all right,it's our turn now to help this chap

(03:45):
out. And he's in a Komi. He's got two young kids, and
he needs some needs some assistance. So if youve got a couple of bucks,
or if you just want to senda card to the Covina Police Department,
I get it. Maybe you don'thave any uh dough. I understand
that, but even if you couldsend a card or anything, uh to
that family, I think that'd bereally helpful. And again, if you

(04:11):
want to go to the website pO r A c dot org p o
r a c dot org and CriticallyInjured in a Coma. One hundred percent
of the donation proceeds will go toorganizing the PRSA Association to distribute the individual
funds to the family. It's goingto Officer good Tierras and you can donate

(04:34):
on the website. Again, it'svery simple. P O R A C
P O R A C and thenlook up Covina and the second the b
story here is that he was acanine officer or he is a knine officer,
and the dog got a check up. If that was that dog's first

(04:58):
checkup, that dog has one morethan Michael Krozer. How about that that
dog got a full checkup. Krozerhas yet to get one. Is there
a gold like at fifty five orsixty when you finally say, oh,
let's let's give it a once over. I find it, buddy. I

(05:20):
am completely envious that you've gone thisfar. I'm so torn both ways about
it because I know I probably shouldbe doing something, but look, the
healthcare system truly does just not makeit very I get it. I get
it. And my grandfather never everever had a checkup, never once in
his life. And my grandfather putbutter on butter. Everything got buttered,

(05:45):
Graham crackers, rolls, steak, potatoes, everything was attacked with butter.
Everything you would buy it, bythe case. Loved butter. I came
from Ireland, lots of it.Was the butter capital of the world.
I think the Irish butter. OhI missed that and and then it's seventy
five. He uh went, hetold my grandmother, Hey, I'm not

(06:06):
feeling so great. I'm gonna laydown, and died of a massive heart
attack in his bed at seventy five. That is the way to go,
you know, not five years inand out of you know, hospitals.
Uh, you know, not knowingwhere you are for the last two years.

(06:27):
Yeah, that's not the way toget It's yeah, if you if,
if you were to choose one orthe other, right, but you
cant. But you can't plan itright, you know, because we all
have an unbelievable natural instinct to survive, or not all of us, but
a lot of us. And soyou never think it's over. So if
you're gonna, yeah, if you'regonna have the long, drag it out
route like you're talking about in ahome, sick for a long time,

(06:48):
you get I guess the silver liningis you get plenty of opportunity to you
know, let people know how muchcare and get you know, the finals
all that out right, But you'redragging it right, But but you never
know when to pull the plug onyourself. You know, it's very difficult
to do. Well. Then there'sthe other side where the decision is made

(07:08):
for you. Yeah, that's right. Yeah, it's it's tough at the
end, man, it really is. It is a long ass process for
a lot of people. But butyou know again, the lucky ones,
you know, healthy as hell andhave a massive heart attack and exit the
building. Is it better to burnout or fade away? No? Burnout?

(07:30):
Right? Yeah, you know. The best way to go is in
some kind of radical accident, youknow, airplane, but with you No
no, no, no no nono no no no, you can't do
that. But airplane, car,you know, train whatever. I'm not
talking about suicide. I'm talking about, you know, just an action if
you're going to go, it's anaccident. I didn't see the train.
Bang wiped out? All right?Nice upbeat Monday hunting. Dare you?

(07:57):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior ondemand from KFI am six forty Real quick,

all right, homeless graduates what onehundred and thirty graduating seniors felt a range

(09:30):
of emotions as they gathered. Oh, I see it's not you know,
like guys that are you know, sixty five, it's these kids. And
man, this is wild. Youknow, there are so many kids out
there right now who are being asked, you know, to go through high
school, finish high school, andyet they're homeless. How about that?
Pressure on these kids. One hundredand thirty graduating seniors felt a range of

(09:54):
emotions as they gathered for an intimatecelebration at Bemo Stadium. I'm a little
nervous because I've never really been toan event like this, and it's a
little bit different for me. ButI'm excited to see what it's all about.
It's about celebrating students like Cameron Williams. She's among the thousands of LA

(10:15):
Unified students ranging from elementary to highschool age, who experience housing instability.
We had over sixteen thousand students experiencingalmost as sixteen. We have been living
out of our car. Do youhear that number? Over sixteen thousand students
experiencing almost as sixteen. We havesixteen thousand kids living in a shelter or

(10:37):
a car or I don't know, you know, on the streets. Sixteen
thousand you have been living out ofour car. And that's kind of hard
because you know, you can't reallysleep comfortably. What spirit this young lady
has. She's homeless and still goingto school, you know, getting up

(10:58):
every day and going to school carand that's kind of hard because you know,
kind of hard this girl. Thisgirl was raised properly where she's not
really complaining. She goes, yeah, it's kind of hard. It's kind
of difficult. She's homeless and stillgraduating high school. This is unbelievable,
and living out of our car,and that's kind of hard because you know,

(11:22):
you can't really sleep comfortably and it'snot really safe being in a car
sometimes and in certain areas. Williamshas juggled multiple jobs while achieving big milestones.
Today, she receives several scholarships andshe's been accepted to Clark Atlanta University.
She plans on becoming a cardiologist. She credits her counselors, school and

(11:43):
mother. I'm just grateful that theschool I'm at now has a it's very
big on supporting students and very advocatingfor the students, So I really appreciate
that, and they've helped me alot throughout the whole year. Williams and
her peers heard from student who've walkeda similar path, including senior Juan Mesa,
who is graduating with honors, andwriter, poet and novelist Luis Rodriguez.

(12:07):
The ceremony was hosted by the LosAngeles Unified Homeless Education Office. There
are a lot of supports for you. I know that in m fell hard
situation. But go to your schools, go to your designated homelessly ease on.
Their accounselors are waiting for you tosupport you. Annabelle Munos ABC seven

(12:28):
Eyewitness News, Wow, that issensational. Good for her. The congratulations
of those outstanding graduates, well done, that's so amazing. We're gonna check
out with Dallas Frains. Yeah, that is unbelievable. You know that,
the crap that some kids have tofight, never really get to see that
or hear about it. But thesekids who are living in a car and
still graduating high school, that's wild. Good for her. At a Girl,

(12:52):
you're listening to Tim Conway Junior onDEMYA from KFI AM six forty.
We have an update on the rawrampage in Orange County in Los Angeles,
four young men decided to spend theirnight knocking over eight convenience stores in La
County and Orange County and a lotof we're you know seven eleven at ampm

(13:16):
man oh Man, I don't thinkthey got the word. There's no money
at a seven eleven. Every timeyou pay for his snickers with a twenty
guy takes twenty minutes to find change. He's got to go to the safe
and he's got to put a secretcode in. He's got to do a
secret handshake, his thumbprint, hiseyeballs have to match, and then he's

(13:37):
got to wait for that plastic tubeto come down with three fives in it.
It takes an hour to get outof there. So I don't know
what you're getting when you knock overat seven to eleven slurping, I don't
know, seems odd, seems odd. And when you steal lottery scratch all

(14:00):
those are reported immediately and they're dead. They're dead. You can't cash them,
they're dead tickets. So I don'tknow what you're getting. Maybe cigarettes,
maybe, but how many cigarettes canyou move? Man? I don't
know. These young kids, they'renot thinking. You know, my dad

(14:20):
always told me, if you're goingto commit crime, you better be able
to retire on it, which isgreat advice, great advice the country.
Yeah, millions, millions, onebig hit, But don't do the you
know, pizza slice and wings andcigarettes, and that's not the way to
go. You're gonna end up witha long, long life. You got

(14:45):
a really difficult life in front ofyou. It's getting out. Let's get
the story in us here and thenwe'll I have an update for you.
Here we go a lot of criminalsbuzzing around. Police say that eight,
possibly nine robberies from last night intothis morning could be connected, including the
seven eleven behind me in Norwalk.Seven eleven place with no dough. Take

(15:05):
a look at your space. That'sso they should name it. We have
seven dollars in it should be aseven point one point one. They have
seven dollars eleven cents and change inthat joint. Nobody has any money and
seven eleven. Take a look atyour screen. We created a map so
you could see where all of theserobberies happened. Anaheim, Bellflower, Orange,
Norwalk, Fullerton and Guardina. We'realso told a possible robbery and commerce

(15:31):
may be related, but the Sheriff'sdepartment couldn't confirm that information. Now police
believe the same suspects could possibly bebehind all of these robberies, which range
from nine to fifteen last night toalmost two this morning. Wow, what
a busy night, you know,I mean eight stores. First of all,
when you pull up to a seveneleven has to be vacant. You

(15:52):
know, you can't rob at seveneleven with nineteen people in there. It
just doesn't go well. A lotof people eyeball you. They they identify
you. You get arrested pretty quickly. So you have to drive around with
your with your three dobe friends. There's four of them, so at least
four of them, and then there'sa driver. I think there's five of
them, and hats off. Ifyou can get four guys, you know,
a group of five guys to goaround robbing all night. I don't

(16:15):
know if I could pull that off. I think I'm I'm I'm beyond that.
I don't know if I could,Like, like Richie, if I
said, hey, you know, this weekend, we're gonna you know,
rob rob eight stories, would yoube into it or not? Depends where
we're going. Orange County definitely definitely. Okay, well all right, well
maybe maybe I am good at this. Yeah, And would you be the

(16:38):
driver or you got you going ingetting the cash? I'll just watch from
from a view. How about that? Okay, so you're a big driver.
No, I wouldn't even be doingthat. I would just be like
in the corner of wherever store we'regoing to crash and then I'll just keep
an eye out, you know,in case if you guys get caught,
then you're the lookout. Yeah, okay, all right, and then all

(16:59):
the robes, cash or cash registerswere stolen. How much cash at the
circle k and Anaheim Police say thesuspects stole the cashier's car and it was
later found at a seven eleven inOrange. We spoke with the sergeant at
the Anaheim Police Department. These arepretty rare. We haven't had a series
like this for a long time.Obviously, we had three overnight, and
we believe they're connected to multiple inthe Southland, both in Orange County and

(17:22):
La County, and so we're workingwith the other agencies throughout the Southland to
prevent and so all these crimes. Those suspects are still outstanding. They haven't
been found yet. Fortunately no injurieshave been reported. Okay, that story
is a little older because three ofthose suspects have been arrested. Yeah,
yeah, yeah. Way too manycameras out there, Way too many cell

(17:47):
phones out there. They can tellwho you are with your cell phone,
and it's not a way to gojust not but two men and a woman.
Wow, how about that? It'sa studley move, trying to get
the women involved here. I've beenarrested in connection with a string of convenience
store robberies overnight in LA and Orange, counting. Two other suspects remain at

(18:07):
large. They'll probably be arrested soon. Some of the robberies were captured on
surveillance video. Imagine all of themwore It happened at one of them.
Happened Monday at one forty five ata seven eleven in Bellflower. Four male
suspects were seen running into a storethe ninety four hundred block of Artesia Boulevard
for you geography nuts out there, and then they were taking items. What

(18:33):
happened? Three of the suspects alsojumped the counter and one took cash from
the register before fleeing that They saidhe got away with three ones and a
five. So let me see threeones and a five. That's eight he
split up between the five people. It's a little less than two bucks of
a cat. All right, Well, that's your night, I guess.

(18:56):
An hour prior to that, therewas another robbery for suspect wearing ski masks
hit a seven eleven at the fifteenthousand, three hundred block of South Figueroa
Street in Gardena, and they gotinto an Orange Kia. Bad move.
Orange Kias are pretty easy to recognizeby the cops. That's Orange. That's

(19:18):
a Kiya. Let's see if wegot our guys. And then on Sunday
evening between nine to fifteen and elevenfifteen pm, a convenience store in Norwalk,
one in Comeras, one in Fullerton. A couple of anaheim were also
robbed similar fashion, including one ofthe suspects stole the clerk's car. Guys
just trying to get by night andyou got his car. That vehicle was

(19:41):
used in another robbery and then recoveredin Orange at a seven eleven. So
busy night for the overnight crew inseven eleven AMPM Midi Mart. All these
convenience stores, they're convenient for usand they're also convenient for the guy's robbing.
You know, they're open all night, not a lot of action there

(20:02):
at night, and you can getin there and enjoy yourself. So three
of them are going to put jail. The other two are still out there.
They'll probably be nailed soon. Andthen that's the start of a difficult
life. You know, for whata couple bucks, maybe one hundred bucks
each, maybe on the high end. Kids, kids, kids, you

(20:25):
gotta it's not the way to go. It's not the way to go.
Bad choices, Bad choices. Kids. You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on
demand from KFI AM six forty. Some people have emailed us complaining that they
can't find the Covina Police officer criticallyinjured donation site. If you go to

(20:48):
p O r AC dot org,it's almost impossible to find. You know.
You type in the guys the officer'sname, you type in the Covina
Police Department. Nothing comes up.So we put on our website. Go
to KFIAM six forty dot com slashCovina if you're just tuning in. There's
a very brave police officer who's involvedin a chase. He's been in a

(21:08):
coma for a week and a half. He has two young kids, two
young boys, five years old anda year old. And even though the
Covina cops are very good at helpingtheir their brothers and sisters out, he
could use a little more dough sincehe's the breadwarner in the family, the
only paycheck in the family, andto help out his young kids. So

(21:29):
go to our website if you'd liketo donate or help out kfi AM six
forty dot com kfi AM six fortydot com slash covena and that's how you
can get there. But for somereason that the p o r C website
is difficult to use, which shouldn'tbe the case. Shouldn't be the case.

(21:51):
But I went to PRC dot organd I looked for like, spend
ten minutes looking for that page, and I couldn't find it. I typed
in everything, every thing, andI couldn't find it. And it's somebody
dropped the ball. Somebody dropped theball at po RC. Got to get
that together, gotta get that together. Guys out there busting his ass for

(22:14):
the city. And I understand youguys are making are raising money for him.
I get that that's a great idea, but you got to make it
easy for people to get there, because people have short fuses. They'll try
to get there once. If theycan't find it, they're gone. They're
gone, all right. I here'ssomething interesting. If you like hepatitis might

(22:36):
be in for a nice surprise. Here in Los Angeles, the La County
Department of Public Health is investigating acase of hepatitis A involving an employee at
a Whole Foods in Beverly Hills.Oh No, Beverly Hills. Hype it.
Hepatitis foods in Beverly Hills. BeverlyHills, oh Man, oh man,
they don't like that hepatitis in BeverlyHill. The employee who works at

(22:59):
the seafood counter at the Whole Foodson North Crescent Drive, oh good,
I'm out. I am out.Not a big fan, not a Whole
Foods guy, definitely not a seafoodcounter guy at Whole Foods. I avoid
that. Just the smell of it, you know, walking by the seafood
area, got almighty man oh manemployee stick. And it's not just there,

(23:21):
it's almost every supermarket. The seafoodthe fresh seafood smells like rotten ocean.
That's a bad seafood. Is thata bad seafood? Plushud smell?
It's it smell like if you goto the if you're at the beach or
at the ocean, you get thatgood ocean smell that leans. No,
this is a rotten meat man.The employee who works at the seafood counter

(23:45):
at the Whole Foods on North CrescentDrive is believed to be infected. Anyone
who purchased products from the seafood counterbetween April the twentieth and May thirteenth.
You get that. Those are yourdates, Those your hepatitis dates between April
and twenty and May thirteen. Yeah, and you get the you get surprised
with those fish sticks, you getthe hepatitis. Let me see, I'll

(24:07):
take some tuna. How about someone lobster tail? And if any do
any of your kids have hepatitis?Oh? Okay you I'll take that as
well. Side. Yes, hepsauce between April the twentieth and May thirteenth.
Did you hear that? Between Aprilthe twentieth and May thirteenth? If
you're at the seafood counter between Aprilwhat is it April between April the twentieth,

(24:32):
April twentieth and May thirteenth and Maythirteenth. April twentieth, yeah,
four twenty and May the thirteenth bewith you? Is that something? Or
is that my getting that date wrong? Now? Urge to get a a
vaccine if they are not already immune. Oh no, man, you gotta
worry about everything nowadays. You know, just went in to get some GD

(24:53):
seafood and now you got hepatitis.Hepatitis A is a highly contagious liver infect
that is caused by the hepatitis Avirus. Oh bobo, man, oh
man, they got to be carefulthere with that seafood over at the Whole
Foods. Hepatitis A is a highlycontagious liver infection that is caused by the
hepatitis A virus. All right, bad vibes over at Beverly Hills. You

(25:19):
know, I'm sorry one got awayin Beverly Hills, the Whole Foods seafood
section with the hepatities, all right, Mister Nordstrum has died. Bruce nordstrom
A helped grow that family business.Maybe you've heard of it. Nordstrum's Bruce
Nordstrum, who helped grow his family'sdepartment store chain into an upscale national brand,

(25:41):
has died. The train the chainrather traces its roots back to a
Seattle shoe store opened by Bruce's grandfather, John Nordstrum, of Swedish immigrants wo
Bruce and his cousins took leadership reignsin nineteen sixty eight, expanding the chain's
footprint while also launching the lower pricedNordstrum Rack stores. The company says Bruce
Nordstrom died at his home on Saturdayat the age of ninety. I knew

(26:03):
one of those Nordstrum kids. Hedidn't do as well as his brothers and
sisters. His name was Rack.Have you heard of him. Yeah,
didn't do well. He sells allthe crap that the big store doesn't want.
He's the poor kid that didn't reallymake it. Rack poor guy.
Do you ever go to those Northson'strack with Jen. I don't think so.

(26:27):
It's a bunch of poor people lookingfor expensive crap. Yeah. A
lot of the clothes that would besold at the full line Nordstroms end up
at the rack. You worked inStrums, Yeah, I actually worked at
both tim okay, but yeah,so, like if you're looking for like
a good deal, yeah, goto the rack. Usually a lot of

(26:49):
the times it's either like maybe likea snag or two, but they dropped
the price like immediately, and thenlike if you're really good, you'll find
like the good good? Does thatyourself that's been there first months? Right?
But yeah, no, a lotof the stuff is like from the
full line Nordstrums just out of likea real good discount and occasionally you'll find
like a rip pole or something, but you know, for the most part

(27:10):
is pretty good. It is likea secondhand store for poor people. Yeah,
for people that can't afford Nordstrum.Exactly. You'd slide in there and
you look like you went to NordsDrum pretty much. You didn't. You
went to Rack City. Yeah,Rack City, you worked at Rack.
Yeah, I started at Rack andthen I got promoted right away, so

(27:30):
I made it to full line.So wow, going the other way is
a demotion, not necessarily, Ithink, if you just want to move
around the company and grow, likeyou have to either either one or the
other. Okay, So Nordstrom ownsNorth from Rack. Yeah, it's kind
of like every other store, likethey have like their off discount store,
like I think Sacks fifth Down Avenuehas a off fifth or so. Okay,

(27:53):
but you know, I looked atthat Nordstrom rack. My my daughter
and wife liked to go there anduh and look at the shoes. I
don't anything wrong with the shoes.I don't know why they're at Nords from
Rack. They probably have fungus andyou don't even Oh my god, it's
kidding. They don't seem used atall. They seem like they're new.
They're not used, I would say. But like, you know, off
season, Nordrum's is. You know, you have to be on all the

(28:15):
trends at all times. Like forthe most part, this is how I
do my shopping. Actually, Iusually go to the Rack when I need
like summer stuff in the winter andvice versa, because you'll get the really
good deals. No one's buying shortsin you know, December. Sure,
so yeah, it's just like stepstuffus. He loves his shorts all season,
that's right. I've never seen stuffFoosh in long pants unless he's at

(28:36):
a wedding. Yeah, no,it's the only time he throws on the
lungs pretty much. Yeah, butI do like nord from Rack. I
feel like I'm I've made it,you know, when I'm in there with
all the other guys, you know, scrounging around. That's funny, you
know, with all the crap inthere. But that stuff it was originally

(28:56):
in Nordstrom's and then it made itto Nordstrom's racks, so they have like
like their own buyer From like justdevoted to the north From's rack, you
know, reasonable price points, differentbrands. And then they also have like
Nordstrum Nordstrom transfers, so those arelike more like the designer goods and stuff
that does it? Does it?Are you sad that one of the north
From founders has passed away? No? No, you know that store of

(29:22):
Nordstrom's. They used to be calledit used to be called not so hip
or used to be hip? Isthat true? I don't think so.
Isn't it? Isn't it? Trendsthat are over was not the name of
it originally, dying trends. Wouldn'tthat be a better name for it?
Dying trends, dead trends, trendsthat are over mom's How about mom's trends

(29:48):
that could work to Yeah, mom'scrap, the stuff that mom hates.
