Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's KFI AM six forty and you're listening to the
Conway Show on demand on the iHeartRadio app. According to
a lot of sources, Iran and Israel have a ceasefire.
Now we are trying to confirm it. We have confirmed it,
then it was denied. It was confirmed again and denied again.
(00:23):
So we are working on our tails off bellios at
the Mid East Desk.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
Or is it the Iranian desk?
Speaker 3 (00:35):
The Foreign Minister for Iran has said that Tehran, Iran
will stop its attacks. It's supposed to start its attack.
It's supposed to start stopping its attack. Okay, a full
twelve hours before Israel is supposed to start stopping their attack.
Speaker 2 (00:51):
That doesn't seem fair.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
So yeah, Israel essentially has twenty four hours and Iran
has twelve the first twelve hours of that twenty four
to stop Theirs. Really, now Iran is saying that it
will stop its attacks if his reel stops it's air
strikes before their time is supposed to start.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
The crow.
Speaker 4 (01:08):
Yeah, it's a whole Now they're getting into the specifics.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
I've never heard of that.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
Yeah, you know, I've never heard you know, that's like
saying you know, the Lakers are going to play the
Golden State Warriors, but the Lakers are only going to
play the first half.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
Yeah, right, I don't get that. Yeah, I've never heard
of that.
Speaker 4 (01:24):
I've never heard of.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
They're going to they're gonna stop firing first for a
full twelve hours, and then these guys over here will
still We'll have twelve hours. He Trump said that he's
basically I don't know if he's allowing them, but it
was agreed upon that that they would have time to
finish up the military operations that they already had scheduled.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
Essentially, Oh my god, that is wild truth. Never heard
of that and anything. You know that one side goes
twelve hours before the other.
Speaker 3 (01:53):
Yeah, and they're they're Irana saying flat out there is
no as of now, there is no agreement on any
ceasefire or sition and military operations complicated.
Speaker 4 (02:03):
But if Israel stops, we'll stop.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
Okay, whatever happens that, you know, we will give it
to you as we get it. But it's complicated, really complicated,
and so well. And also they've got to get somebody
in there to figure out if the how how much
damage was done by these bunker bustin bombs, and nobody knows.
(02:28):
I mean, you don't know until you get, you know,
somebody down there to take a look into the bunker. Yeah, exactly,
I mean, how badly were these things damaged? Let's find out.
They have been well prepared to receive this, They're well defended.
Speaker 5 (02:41):
It comes as there are major questions about how much
of you Run's nuclear program was destroyed in Saturday's attack,
as President Trump says the facilities were obliterated.
Speaker 6 (02:49):
Completely and totally obliterated.
Speaker 5 (02:51):
The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff says it's
too early to tell the full scope.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
Final battle damage will take some time, but initial battle
damage assessment to indicate that all three sites sustained extremely
severe damage and destruction.
Speaker 5 (03:06):
President Trump now floating the idea of a regime change
in Iran, Trump posting online, if the current Iranian regime
is unable to make Iran great again, why wouldn't there
be a regime change?
Speaker 2 (03:16):
The administration? What is that? Maga am i ga maga
make Iran great again? Why wouldn't there be a regime change?
Speaker 5 (03:26):
The administration clarifying that believes the regime change should come
from within Iran.
Speaker 7 (03:30):
If they refuse to engage in diplomacy moving forward. Why
shouldn't the Iranian people rise up against this brutal terrorist regime.
Speaker 6 (03:38):
That's a question the president raised last night.
Speaker 5 (03:40):
Iran says he used the same number of missiles against
the US that the US used against them on Saturday.
It appears there was some kind of intelligence about the
attack today, with US embassy and guitar telling Americans this
morning in that country to shelter in place until further notice.
Speaker 8 (03:54):
Perry russellm EBC News, Washington.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
Can you imagine if you're in the Mediterranean and you know,
you're you're and your wife, maybe a couple of dogs,
or you've retired. You're on a nice, you know, forty
to fifty foot yacht and then a cruise along, and
then a submarine comes up right next to you and
launches eighteen Tomahawk missiles.
Speaker 3 (04:15):
Sweet salted Mediterranean air blowing through your hair, it's left
of it. Then bag it'll drink in your hand, and
all of a sudden, you're getting pushed out of the water.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
Right like, is that a whale, No, it's a it's
a Los Angeles class submarine.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
Oh my god. It seemed like we paid for this?
How's this is happening you?
Speaker 1 (04:32):
And I also heard crows that they they have this
figured out because in the forty Tomahawk missiles that they
threw it Ran they wanted them all to hit at
the same time, so each one of them had a
different speed on them, so they'd all catch up and
bomb at the same time. And some of them they
throttled it. Yeah, some of them they launch and then
they circle around until the others are launch. Hold up cigar,
(04:56):
and then they all go in together. Complicated complicated business man,
complicated business. So whenever it happens, you'll hear it first
here on KFI. Whatever kind of truce happens between Iran
and Iraq, I mean Ran and the Israel. I'm sorry,
but there's a lot, there's a lot of information. Maybe
(05:17):
that's why we've had issues with air traffic controllers. They're
all in the military now coordinating missile stret.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
Yes, that's right, they're gone. They're overseas.
Speaker 3 (05:23):
You can't tell the planes. Hey, you get up to
circle around. We've got another one in landing. Are taken
off right now.
Speaker 1 (05:28):
And the Supreme Leader has not been been seen in weeks.
Speaker 9 (05:32):
I guess he's underground, so I can tell you despite
all this talk, the statement from the presidents, the Israeli
defense forces conducting their most extensive wave of attacks in
Trun so far in this conflict. And even right now
while the show's on there we're getting reports of heavy
bombing inside Tehran, another warning by Israel to residents inside
the Iranian capital to essentially go go into.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
A safe area.
Speaker 9 (05:56):
Meanwhile, as you say, Astola ali Hamani has not been
seen for almost two weeks in public now, prompts some
speculation about ways hiding Israel in the US. As you
know say, they're not trying to change the regime there,
but raising questions where is he to nights and what
would happen if you were killed in one of these attacks.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
I was watching Netflix over the week and I thought
I saw him hosting a show called No Introduction Needed.
I guess that was Letterman. They look alike, a little
bit weird, weird time, weird time, A lot going on,
and we're going to help for all of it right
(06:35):
here in on KFI. All right, we're live on KFI

Speaker 2 (09:42):
I think you can bring your own bird.
Speaker 13 (09:45):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from kf
I Am six forty.
Speaker 1 (09:51):
Over the weekend, I was watching news. I just shut
it off. I don't know what happened, but every person
that I've ever met who is from Iran is smart,
and they all want regime regime change over there, all
of them. And I was watching local news over the weekend,
(10:11):
and nobody mentioned it.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
Nobody.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
They were talking about how it's illegal what Trump has done.
They didn't go to Congress. I mean, it sounded like
it was coming right out of Tehran. And you know
the Iranian people. For people who don't know this, I mean,
I'm pretty much Iranian.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
That's how much I know about this group.
Speaker 1 (10:34):
But a global study involving one point three million people
one point three million participants has found that Iran ranks
fourth in the average IQ placed to get amongst the
world's most intelligent nations, behind only behind China, South Korea
and Japan. So they are a hell of a lot
(10:57):
of smart people, family people, dedicated people. And I didn't
see a single story over the weekend on any of
the local people being interviewed. And Los Angeles has a
tremendous population, a very high population of.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
People from that part of the world.
Speaker 1 (11:16):
But research on Iran's population, intelligence, and academic achievements suggests
the following number one. Iran has been ranked high in
international IQ tests very impressive. Some sources suggest that that
area Iran ranked as high as second or fourth in
(11:39):
global IQ, as high as second deep intellectual and cultural
history that values knowledge and scholarship. It's a group of
very smart people, but nobody really knows that because of
this heavy handed regime that's been holding him back for
(11:59):
forty five fifty years. Very strong with education. The education
system in Iran is very very strong, particularly in mathematics
and mathematics and science. Fifty five percent of the young
people in Iran attend post secondary education fifty five percent.
(12:23):
So they're just a nation waiting to have their you know,
have the the need taken off their neck and watch
what happens when that part of the world, When Iran
has a leader that celebrates how smart and how creative
(12:44):
that population is, it's going to be an unbelievable country,
one that you'll want to visit, one that'll that'll supply
a tremendous amount of knowledge to that area. And and
all they need is a new direction in life, and
(13:04):
hopefully one comes out of it over this weekend, over
the next couple of months. But I didn't see anything
on TV, any local. I didn't see until today. When
I was watching today, I saw some local stories of
reporters interviewing, you know, dissidence people who have been who
(13:26):
have left Iran. Only today. I didn't see it on Saturday,
and I didn't see it on Sunday. And don't tell
me I wasn't watching. I was watching every station, every broadcast.
I'm a I'm a news aholic, a news junkie. I
love TV news, and something happened over the weekend. I
don't know what happened. Maybe all the you know, news
directors were away and they could get away with that,
(13:49):
but not today. When I watched today, it was back
to normal where they're interviewing local people, local Iranians, and
they are all every single one of them was talking
about regime change, every single one.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
That's a big deal.
Speaker 1 (14:04):
And once they get a new leader in in in
that country, it is going to be a powerhouse. It's
going to be one of the great countries in the world.
All they need is a new leader and new direction.
That's what they all say. You know, I've ever been there.
(14:24):
I don't know, but from every every single person, with
that exception that I know. My my my doctor was
from Iran. A good friend over at kalis X was
from ran. We had a big advertiser who is from Iran.
They all talk about how great that country is and
how great it will be once they take the leash
(14:45):
off that country.
Speaker 2 (14:46):
It's going to be unbelievable.
Speaker 1 (14:48):
So maybe that comes, maybe this will allow that to happen, hopefully, hopefully.
All right, we have we're going to continue to follow
the the truce, the rumor of the truths that have
been going around. Krozier had a sort of a complicated
breakdown of what it means, you know, with one country
(15:08):
going first for twelve hours, the other one going for
twenty four hours, and I couldn't figure that out. But
this Portia show is being brought to you by Advanced
Tair one day treatment, life changing results. Make your appointment
today at Advanced Tair dot com.
Speaker 13 (15:21):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
Am six forty.
Speaker 1 (15:27):
It's all right, anything comes out of the Middle East.
Any more information, we will have that for you immediately.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
Here.
Speaker 1 (15:34):
It's a crazy story. It is changing every second. Here's
a breakdown of what this truce is going to look
like if indeed it happens, which it looks like it
might be happening. But here are the actual here's the
actual breakdown of who goes first and how it's It's
very complicated.
Speaker 2 (15:55):
Let's just dumbly just play it for you here.
Speaker 8 (15:57):
This is the false moving situation.
Speaker 14 (15:58):
We have yet to hear officially from either party, but
not long ago, President Trump announced a ceasefire deal between
Israel and Iran set to begin in just a few
hours time.
Speaker 8 (16:08):
Under the terms of this deal, Iran would initiate a
twelve hour ceasefire. After that, that'd be twelve hours of
ceasefire from Israel. If in those twenty four hours piece
is achieved, well that is the end of the war.
But as we know, a lot can happen in twenty
four hours.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
It's complicated, very very complicated. And they have a long
complicated history there Israel and Iran.
Speaker 7 (16:32):
US relations with Iran are marked by a complex history
of conflict. The recent US strikes on Iran's nuclear sites,
prompting Iran to retaliate, is just the most recent incident
of a turbulent history which spans over seven decades. In
nineteen fifty three, the US helped overthrow Iran's prime minister
and back to the Shah, a move that sparked decades
(16:54):
of mistrust. In nineteen fifty seven, the US and Iran
signed the Cooperation Concerning Civil Uses of Adams Agreement, which
laid the foundation for the country's nuclear program. Fast forward
to nineteen seventy nine, the Islamic Revolution toppled the shaw
A group of Americans at the embassy were taken hostage
and tensions escalated and ties were cut.
Speaker 1 (17:16):
You know, I'm old enough to remember that, and I
remember Nightline was created around that situation. Every single night
at eleven thirty, once the local news was over, ABC
ran an update on the hostages in Iran, and that's
how Nightline was created. It was created because of that
(17:40):
hostage situation. I remember the helicopters that went in to
try to save all those people, exploding in the desert,
where people were killed and bodies were you know, thrown
all over the place. I remember the bodies coming home
in coffins after that. It was a really bad situation
(18:00):
and also led to Ronald Reagan being elected President of
the United States, and those hostages were all released on
the day he was inaugurated, the very first day in office,
they released all of them.
Speaker 10 (18:12):
And so when the Shah was overthrown, the American perfidy
in what they did in nineteen fifty three was re
emerged among the national consciousness of Iran.
Speaker 7 (18:24):
Iraq invaded Iran in nineteen eighty and the US provided
economic and military support to Iraq. Iran was labeled a
state sponsor of terrorism by the UN I.
Speaker 2 (18:34):
Remember that war as well.
Speaker 1 (18:37):
Every couple of days there was be an update on
Iraq versus Iran in that war, and it would move
a mile in towards Iraq, then it would move mile
back in towards Iraq into Iran.
Speaker 2 (18:47):
Then Iraq and the I ran, and at the end
nothing was gained.
Speaker 1 (18:51):
I think there was over a million people, a million
soldiers killed, at least a half million on either side
or more. And nothing came out of it. Nobody won,
nobody lost. Who was exact, you know, the same borders.
After that war was over.
Speaker 7 (19:09):
Iran was labeled a state sponsor of terrorism by the
US throughout the nineties and went under strict sanctions. In
two thousand and two, George W. Bush described Iran as
part of the Axis of Evil, along with Iraq and
North Korea. In twenty fifteen, a breakthrough happened by the
Iran Nuclear Deal. Iran agreed to reduce uranium enrichment in
(19:30):
exchange for sanction relief. Three years later, President Trump withdrew
from the deal, reimposed sanctions, and tensions escalated.
Speaker 10 (19:39):
Okay, look, you know we will we will not pursue
nuclear weapons anymore if we can get rid of the
sanctions is a bargaining position for the Iranians. What the
Americans want, of course, as they want to make sure
that Iran doesn't have a nucleio weapon.
Speaker 7 (19:53):
In twenty twenty, top Iranian General Solimani was killed in
an American drone strike. Iran responded with missile strikes on
US basis in Iraq. The world braced for war, but
conflict was narrowly avoided. Now in twenty twenty five, nuclear
talks were back on. The negotiations came to a halt
just two days before the US and Iranian delegations were
(20:16):
set to resume talks following what Israel called a preemptive
strike attack on Iran and the announcement of the Iran
Israel ceasefire. Now raises the question of what's next in
the region. The stakes are very high, as a new
deal could stabilize the region and bring peace, or its
collapse could trigger a new wave of further escalation.
Speaker 1 (20:35):
So all right, we will stay on top of this.
A very complicated story between two fierce, fierce enemies around
in Israel and we It is a really complicated situation.
It's been going on for a long long time, and
it looks like there finally is a truce, so well,
(20:58):
see what happens. We'll see what happens.
Speaker 13 (21:01):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty belly O.
Speaker 2 (21:08):
I don't know if you know this.
Speaker 1 (21:09):
I don't know what kind of fan you are of
the WNBA, but I've become I would say, a mild
fan over the last like six months to a year,
where if I'm watching a game and Caitlyn Clarkson and
I'll watch the whole.
Speaker 2 (21:21):
Game, She's amazing.
Speaker 12 (21:24):
I was just reading some of her stats, like some
of the she's done in forty two games, what has
taken some of the other players, like over three hundred
But she's for real.
Speaker 2 (21:34):
And then there's another check on that team, Sophie Cunningham.
Speaker 12 (21:38):
Oh, Sophie Cunningham. So now Sophie, because there was there
was a game. I forget was it who it was against.
But Caitlyn got a little beat up right like she
always does, Yeah, like poked in the eye, then knocked
to the ground, and this Sophie Cunningham, I guess she's
like the enforcer. So she took and I forget her name,
but she took her down, and so people are just
(22:00):
going crazy over her. Social media's like gone up over
five hundred thousand.
Speaker 6 (22:04):
Her jersey's sold out.
Speaker 12 (22:06):
She's like taking somebody the spotlight off of Caitlin, which
I think is a good thing.
Speaker 1 (22:11):
Yeah, and it's it's great to watch. And they're fighting.
I think just enhances it. You know, the battles that
they're having is great.
Speaker 12 (22:19):
People are going nuts just because she's defending her teammate
because she felt like the refs weren't, you know, giving
out that they didn't eject some of these women, they
weren't given the technical two. Yeah, so she took it
into her own hands. She was a black belt by
the age of six, is that right? She played football
whow when she was in high school was the kicker.
Speaker 4 (22:39):
So she's a tough, tough chick.
Speaker 1 (22:42):
I remember, I think it's god. What's her name is
it Mulvaney or Maulvi, Mulky, Kim Maulki. She's the coach
of LSU and LSU had beat IOWA in I think
the semi finals are fine, and the Louisiana coach, Kim
(23:03):
Malky is her name, was talking about Caitlyn Clark afterwards.
Speaker 2 (23:08):
I'm gonna play the audio for you here. You know,
this is the.
Speaker 1 (23:10):
Coach of LSU talking about Kitlyn Clark when Kaitlyn was
in where played for Iowa University of Iowa?
Speaker 6 (23:17):
Like, where are you from?
Speaker 11 (23:18):
Sorry?
Speaker 2 (23:19):
Yes, identify name and affiliation?
Speaker 11 (23:21):
Sorry Emmadler. From the next two quick questions, just what
went into the strategy in terms of how you wanted
to defend Kaitlyn Clark. And then also just wondering, you know,
it seemed like you're a long embrace and some kind
words for after the game of the handshake line. Just
wondering if you wanted to share what those were.
Speaker 6 (23:36):
Well, there's not a whole lot of strategy. You gotta Garter.
Nobody else seems to be able to guard her. We
didn't even garter last year when we beat them. She's
just a generational player and she just makes everybody around
her better. That's what the great ones do. I think
(23:57):
they had a kid that scored twenty one in eighteen,
she had twelve assist Caln Clark's not gonna beat you
by herself. It's what she does to make those other
teammates better that helps her score points and them score
points to beat you. What did I say to her?
I said, I sure, am glad you're leaving. I said, girl,
(24:20):
you something else. Never seen anything like it.
Speaker 1 (24:24):
That's pretty high praise from LSU women's basketball coach, uh
and pretty southern of her to say, sure and glad
you're leaving.
Speaker 2 (24:33):
You know what you said, serin glad you're leaving. Let's
seek at the right audio here.
Speaker 6 (24:39):
What did I say to her?
Speaker 10 (24:40):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (24:40):
What did you say to her?
Speaker 6 (24:41):
I said, I sure, am glad you're leaving.
Speaker 1 (24:43):
I sure, am glad you're leaving. But that's that WNBA.
When they started fighting, somebody called it the WWNBA, and
I said, a pretty good coming. But they're going after
each other and it's great and it's fantastic. It's a
a cool deal. And Caitlin Clark in the Fever coming
to LA to play the Sparks I think in August.
(25:06):
So that'll be huge, especially with that Sophia Cunningham taking
off like BELLYO predicted.
Speaker 2 (25:12):
Man, Belly, are you predicted that right? You were all
over there.
Speaker 12 (25:14):
Well, I knew when they picked her up in January
that Yeah, you said that it was going to play out.
Speaker 1 (25:19):
Yeah you said in January you said man, oh Man, Sure,
am glad you're leaving.
Speaker 12 (25:25):
But I said, sure, I'm glad you're coming.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
Sure, am glad you're leaving. That's that's what I said
about one of our guests.
Speaker 6 (25:31):
Didn't they What did I say to her?
Speaker 10 (25:34):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (25:34):
What did you say to Harry?
Speaker 6 (25:35):
I said, I sure, am glad you're leaving.
Speaker 1 (25:37):
I'm sure, am glad you're leaving. Sure, am glad you're leaving.
Speaker 6 (25:43):
I said, I sure, am glad you're leaving.
Speaker 1 (25:45):
Yeah, Sure, I'm glad you leaving. All right, here's some
news here locally. This is not getting a lot of attention,
so we thought we'd bring it to your attention. It's
the tale of two Trader Joes. Where are they? Right
across from each other? Both located in Los Angeles off
the one to one Freeway on Riverside Drive in Sherman Oaks.
(26:06):
One is more than fifty years old, while the other
one is brand new, wow, built within a new apartment building.
They're recently open. Apparently. A main point of difference between
the stores is parking. That's always been an issue with
Trader Joe's always been an.
Speaker 2 (26:24):
Issue, everybody talks about it.
Speaker 1 (26:26):
While the older Trader Joe's on one side of the
street has limited outdoor parking. The new one has underground parking.
They're finally getting it together. Trader Joe's, after fifty years,
finally said, you know what, every single one of our
customers complains about parking.
Speaker 2 (26:44):
Let's get that together. And they did. They did.
Speaker 1 (26:48):
In a statement, Trader Joe's spokesperson told USA Today they
wanted to bring their products to more people and how
opening more stores was the best way to make it happen.
Every time I go to Trader Joe's and I've been
a new Trader Joe's customer, I wasn't a big fan
for years.
Speaker 2 (27:08):
I didn't get it.
Speaker 1 (27:09):
But I went with my daughter recently, about six months ago,
and the three or four items that I got were
all great. Everything was great out of Trader Joe's, very
inexpensive quality.
Speaker 2 (27:21):
It's a great market.
Speaker 1 (27:22):
So shoppers took to social media to joke about the
close proximity of the two Trader Joe's in Sherman Oaks
across the street from each other. And so one has parking,
the other one doesn't. We'll see, we'll see what happens.
But that's a beautiful storm. Trader Joe's. The salads at
(27:43):
Trader Joe's are incredible, so good, oh my god, and
all they like everything they sell in the frozen section
of the pizzas. The chocolate is great, the vegetables are fresh,
the meat's good. They got it going on there, you know, Stephush,
I know you're not a fan, but I love it.
Speaker 2 (28:03):
No, I love how you doing. Yeah, I get that wrong. Sorry,
screwed up on that.
Speaker 1 (28:08):
All right, Iran and Israel, it looks like there's a truth.
We're not really sure what that looks like. It's a
truth that we've never heard of before, or at least
the you know, the rules of the new truths are
odd in the place. Real quickly, before we go to
a mod's show, here is the breakdown of what's going
(28:28):
on in that part of the world.
Speaker 8 (28:29):
This is a fast moving situation.
Speaker 14 (28:31):
We have yet to hear officially from either party, but
not long ago, President Trump announced a ceasefire deal between
Israel and Iran, set to begin in just a few
hours time. Under the terms of this deal, Iran would
initiate a twelve hour ceasefire. After that, that'd be twelve
hours of ceasefire from Israel.
Speaker 8 (28:49):
If in those twenty four hours piece is achieved. Well,
that is the end of the war. But as we know,
a lot can happen in twenty four hours.
Speaker 1 (28:56):
There you go, So it could be ending as quickly
as it started. Wouldn't that be great? Not a summer
of everyone bombing each other, just the summer where we
can get back to our own issues here in Los Angeles.
You know, they try to take the attention off of
the LA and we're like, no, no, no, no, we
need it back here now. And I think we're going
(29:17):
to get it all right. We're live Moe Kelly next
