In this insightful Market Mondays clip, Rashad and Troy dive into Google’s evolution as an AI powerhouse, its strategy in the competitive tech landscape, and why it might just be one of the quiet leaders in artificial intelligence. The discussion starts with Rashad asking if Google is a sleeper AI company. Troy responds by praising Google’s flawless execution and adaptability, especially when Apple lost its focus. The duo highlight how Google invested in AI, redefining its approach to innovation and solidifying its presence as a tech titan. The clip explores Google’s strategic moves, such as the anticipated pipeline reduction in search pages and the company’s potential new deal with Apple to serve as the primary search engine. Rashad shares how industry insiders foresaw the arrival of major AI products from Google and how he benefited by making smart investment choices based on these trends. The hosts also discuss Gemini, Google’s standout AI product, and its continuous improvements, alongside other innovations like VO3. Troy draws comparisons to Netflix’s move to stop password sharing, emphasizing how data is the new oil and Google owns the pipeline and refineries. They reflect on Google’s powerful earnings, impressive product rollouts, and dominance in both AI and traditional search, underscoring how every innovation from Google prompts competitive responses in the tech sector. In a forward-looking segment, Rashad and Troy touch on the potential integration of Google’s AI technologies with YouTube, which could transform content creation for millions. They salute Google’s team for their ongoing innovation, while wishing Apple had taken a similar path. Speaker 2 (00:44):
Is Google a sleeper AI company if I wanted to
wait to December. One of my favorite comeback stories of
just flawless execution is Google's has done everything I would
Apple would have done.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
I can't wait for this update to come out.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
But just at the highest level, when people were even
starting to say what AI erode their search business completely,
they found a way to invest and create AI at
a faster scale. And it's a great thing of being
focused because it's Apple lost their focus they were able
to come in and be a partner.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
So it is a sleeper AI company. We've been talking
about it.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
All year, and I've clearly said like, once they made
the switch and focused, I was the first one to say, Hey,
they've righted the ship. So I don't think they're a
sleeper company. But I do think they are the quietest
of the big tech companies in AI.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
But that's because they're actually executing at a high level.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
I think, Yeah, I don't even know if I want
to use the term sleeper. I remember about a year
ago we were talking about this topic, and I think
the one knock I had against them was that they.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Didn't have the product. They didn't have anything. There wasn't
a thing.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
And then I spoke to some people in the tech
world and they were like, naturely, trust me.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
The thing is on the way.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
So obviously, using that information doing the research, started to
get some calls on them and did pretty well on
those calls. And then at the All Star Game this
year in UH San Francisco, we uh we were enlightened
by some of the folks at Google. They had been
watching the show and talking to us about some of
the product things that were coming, and uh, we should

(02:32):
just you know, give it, give us some time and
then set some products over to us. And what we've
seen is when we talked about the clips earlier, this
is this is the.

Speaker 3 (02:45):
Technology quiet just executing. They're executing at the highest level.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
The product is phenomenal. When we're talking about AI, Gemini
is still one of the top three, right and still improving.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
VO three is incredible.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
Last week they talked about their potential new deal with
Apple to be the search engine.

Speaker 3 (03:10):
Google has had had a phenomenal year.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
Uh, they reported earnings last two weeks ago, had an
amazing order innovation looks incredible.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
For the future, they're there, man, they're there.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
And in fact, I was reading an interesting piece about
how they're looking at search going forward. Right when we
had to scour the internet, when AI, like Chat, GBT
and Claudes had to scour the internet, data source was
was Google because that's the place, you know. And now
they're saying like in the future they're going to shorten
that search so that models can't take which was what

(03:45):
we'll see, right, I was brilliant. Yeah, I feel like
they were a little late to that though, right had
they saw that train coming they would have.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
It reminded me of Netflix stopping path for sure, Like
if data is the new oil, they have all the
oil and refire Sam while you're being arrogant, Well, what
you can talk about in a little bit, Okay, Well
let's cut the pipeline off and appo and a banana.
Every update that Google does it felt like at one
time every week they were launching a new improvement, just

(04:16):
a fantastic and once again, everything they're doing, I wish
Apple would have did.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
Yeah, yeah, it's interesting, right because I didn't not that
you said, I didn't even think about that, like you
cut that that pipeline off, and for those that was
what I'm trying to explain here is that when you search, right,
like when Google has like thirty o's inside the word,
that's how many search engines that they've done to come

(04:41):
up with results in the future this and that they've
cut that down to maybe two pages. Right, So remember
when people used to go seos and they're like, oh wait,
we're trying to land on the first ten searches. Now
that I'll be confined so that the other companies won't
be able to use that database to use inside their platform.
Which is interesting the Apple have done this. I think
Apple could have done something in artificial intelligence. I think

(05:04):
they're the roller is defline. Now they're gonna sit back
and watch and say, how do we improve how we
innovate inside of what's already happening.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
Google is just innovating. They're just innovating at a very
high level.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
And every time they innovate, there's a response. And so
when vo three came out, we saw soa they updated it.
It comes soa too. They're leading the way now right,
they're leading away. Search engine is there. We know that
that it's a huge business. And obviously they still have
that Golia called YouTube, which.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
Now they're gonna say and once they figure out how
to integrate Veil into YouTube for creators, if you go
on a cable home sell.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
What would be like what's reality?

Speaker 2 (05:48):
At that point it's tough mm hm m h. Job
or done to everybody at Google. Once again, I wish
the Apple would have done the same.

Speaker 1 (06:00):

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
