Speaker 1 (00:01):
I wanted to do a show on astrology, so first
of all, it is in your destiny to do this.
I'm mong asiaticular, and to be honest, I don't believe
in astrology, at least I don't think I do. But
from the moment I was born, it's been a part
of my life, part of my family's story for as
long as anyone can remember.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
In India, it's like smoking. You might not smoke, but
you're going to get secondhand astrology.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
And lately I've been wondering if the universe has been
trying to tell me to stop running and pay attention,
because maybe there is magic in the stars if you're
willing to look for it. So I rounded up some friends.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
I'm Mary and.
Speaker 1 (00:42):
I'm a Cancer, I'm Miitra and I'm a Leo, I'm
Markham and Gemini. We're the most hated sign, which is
weird because work great and although we had no idea
what we were getting into, we dove headfirst into the
global obsession with astrology and it got weird fast. Tantric curses,
(01:02):
major League Baseball teams, canceled marriages, K pop, fortune telling cows,
and you wouldn't believe the tension between believers and skeptics.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
I got into astrology trying to disprove it.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
I said, he's a Gemini, he's restless, and he goes
he's turning down one hundred million. Help.
Speaker 2 (01:22):
Is the president's interest in astrology something.
Speaker 1 (01:24):
For us to be concerned about.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
When people say that astrology is a science and has
physical roots in the stars, it's like, oh, no, it doesn't,
but it's true the way a poem is true.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
Along the way, I met people with really big questions
and astrologers who tried to answer them.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
Will I ever believe in anything? I had a question about,
like who's going to diverse? Because there's an answer that
I want?
Speaker 1 (01:48):
Because I feel like I'm at the brink of something.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
I just don't belto something.
Speaker 1 (01:52):
I discovered far flung beaches where women astrologers roam, and
tiny shops where centuries of predictions are kept hidden in faults.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
See what I've done lately? You want it pass?
Speaker 1 (02:08):
But just when I thought I had a handle on
this sweet and curious show about astrology, my whole world
came crashing down.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
You planned this under an eclipse. Eclipse energy can be
very volatile. Things happening unexpectedly. Can't really see it coming. Oh,
situation doesn't look good for father. There is risk to
father and.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
My whole view on astrology it changed. Whether you're a
skeptic or a believer. Give me a few minutes, because
I think your ideas are going to change too. Listen
to Skyline Drive and the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcast or
