CEO You Should Know - Carmone Macfarlane

A craft beer enthusiast for over 20 years, Carmone is the Chief Creative and Marketing Officer for The Phoenix Brewing Company in Mansfield, Ohio. She also manages the merchandise, and the Craft Beer Education program for the Phoenix. A member of the Pink Boots Society and founder of the Jane Doe's Craft Beer Consortium, she is an avid supporter of women in the Craft Beer Industry and in the taproom. A Certified Beer Server, she is studying to become a Certified Cicerone. Occasionally she dabbles in home brewing and helps out in the brewery with recipe development At home, she and her husband, a professional brewer and head brewer for the Phoenix, enjoy cooking with beer and pairing beers with different foods for the best flavor combinations and fair-weather camping. She loves to work in her studio in her spare moments. After spending 20 years in Visual Arts education and loving it, she never dreamed she would find another career that she could love even more. “One of the best parts about the craft brewing industry is the comradery within the industry and the importance of building up the community. It is an absolute joy to be able to love what I do every day and to be able to share and give back to our own community. I can’t imagine any better career.” Carmone said.
