(00:00):
Someone is going to have to bethe chairperson. And Bretta Horne, who
I met I mean, Britta,I think I met you like ten years
ago now for the first time.Yeah, and you're just a super neat
individual. I'm just going to saythat. I know that's, you know,
a weird thing to say, butI think you're super interesting. You
have been very dedicated to the stateand two Republican politics for a long time

(00:21):
now. But why in the worldwould you want to stick your face in
this wood chipper? Thanks a lot, I really appreciate that. And yes,
I'll take meat. That's awesome.No, because I see what's ahead
of us, you know, wesee this complete you know, I mean,
Shenanigans are unbelievable. I mean,we can go over for days and
days and days. But that's what'sbeen going out to Lafe's two year and

(00:42):
a half. And I've always beenthe type of person is that, you
know, if a person's going toshow you who they are, believe them
the first time. And we haven'tchanged any of that, and so it's
time for change. And when Isaw this opportunity, and you're absolutely right.
We have one hundred and one daystomorrow to get candidates across the finish
line. I mean, bounce comeout what eighty six days? Yeah?

(01:04):
Yeah, And there's been no workingdone. So I'm looking at this like
I look at everything else. AndI know everyone knows that I'm a fire
chief up here in the mountains halfwaychange, steamboat, springs and jail,
and I'm just looking at it justlike a fire chief, just with critical,
critical set of eyes, you know, critical thinking. Everything I learned
in leadership and how to get peopletogether and to go focus on the idea

(01:26):
and learn on the fire ground, and we need to do this now.
So what do you bring to thechairmanship because ultimately, let me just list
out a couple of failures right now. The first failure, of course,
is the failure to abide by thebylaws, and the second failure by Chairman
Williams is that he has encouraged divisionin the party. He has encouraged purity

(01:47):
tests that decide who's Republican or enoughor not. And he has been an
absolutely abysmal fundraiser. They have nomoney coming in and it is a disaster
financially. So what would you bringto that leadership position if you were to
get it? I appreciate that,and I'll I have a role reverse of
It's what you just said. NumberOne is definitely fundraising, a really robust

(02:08):
fundraising position. And when I wasat the R and C mentioned in Milwaukee
last week or week and a halfago now, I went to everybody that
I know that in this state haveclosed their checkbooks and will not give money
to the state party for this situationyou're currently in. And with talking with
them, they said, if I'mtheir chair, I will definitely begin the

(02:30):
doors open to talk to other fundraisersand they'd open up their checkbooks. And
even more recently as two nights ago, and I've been going to meetings and
expressing this donor's been coming out tome in the parking lot saying, you
make this change, and you getthis done, you get your money.
And I started asking for amounts andwe're in the tens of thousands now,
just being what do you want tosay? Is just being pledged to my

(02:51):
campaign saying get me to the fundof the class and get this started,
and we will work together and we'llget the fundraising taken care of. The
second thing is also supporting our candidates. We got to support them they're not
getting the data they need, they'renot getting the volunteers they need. Again,
talk to people at the r andC convention and over the phone this
past week. There's so many outsideorganizations outside the state. They're like,

(03:13):
we will bring busloads of people injust show us the way. We'd be
happy to volunteer and get our candidatesacross that finish line. And finally over
with the last week with last day, we had a meeting when we got
to see our new National Committee womanChristy Fedora Ruckus as we call her.
She was getting ratified in and bothMichael Wattley and Laura Trump were there and

(03:37):
they were telling everybody in the room, we still need to get an energetic
get out the vote strategy and weneed to protect the ballot. So why
would we follow the rules that areahead of us with the arms SE wants
for all the states to do.We can do this and we can win
if we stick together and unite. Now, there are several other people who
have thrown their name in the hat. I know Eli Bremer has come out
from El Paso and he's assembled akind of a leadership team already saying,

(04:00):
look, if I'm tier then who'sthese are the people that I'm bringing with
me and they're from different parts ofthe state. Is there anybody that you
have spoken to or talked to thatyou would say, yes, I would
like them on a leadership team aswell, or would you rather fellow Republicans
decide that separately? And you justnailed in the head I think, Mandy,
I think you and I heard thesame kind of girl. I don't
think it's our decision to do that. When I start seeing slates and I

(04:24):
had a head phone calls and peopleare calling me in after me, it's
not for us to decide. Idon't think that's the game we're working at.
You know, that's not how thisworks. When you're up there on
stage and you're going for cheers. It's up to the people, the butts
in the seat, they are goingto be there tomorrow morning for them to
make the decision. Who should bemy vice who should be my secretary.
I'll work with anybody as long asthey want to win. Somebody just hit

(04:46):
a text this said there was atemporary wait. Let me see here,
let me let me get this, let me get this text before I read
it. Mandy. Apparently a temporaryrestraining order has been issued on the meeting
tomorrow. Have you heard anything aboutthat or is that a lie? No,
I don't know if it's a lie. I mean, there's been a
lot of paperwork going back and forth. There's going minute by minute. I

(05:09):
know there are some court has something, but they haven't decided whether they're gonna
rule on it or not. SoI don't know. I've never heard.
I haven't gotten the restraining order. They'd have to find me out here on
the ranch. Well, I'm notseeing a I'm not seeing any news about
that. I'm searching the Worldwide rabright now. I'm looking for no I
may I don't see any of that. So that's interesting that that's being floated

(05:32):
around this meeting. Let's just say, unless you get an email from Todd
Watkins or someone who is involved inthis, I would say ignore that and
show up for the meeting tomorrow. That would be really, really pathetic if
they were spreading a lie to preventthis meeting from happening. And there seems
to be a lot of fear mongeringand scare tactics. Absolutely, because you

(05:53):
can see the momentum and the energyof the state talking to candadas after candadiates
after candadate's going, what come todo? What can we do? What
do you need? And they're like, we need support, we need a
direction, we need to have aprocess. And I've been very fortunate to
be really close to Christy Ruckis andFedora and down there on plub mote.
They've done a wonderful job of flippingclubloads. Yeah, we're nine out of

(06:15):
eleven seats and then the other oneswere you know, you know, right
leaning. So they have a planand they have a way to do it.
Why wouldn't we do that time sixtythree more counties and get this done.
We can do this if we unitetogether. And I just put this
on on Twitter because somebody put somethingon our X and I just said,
you know, we can be whetherwe're big big FA Republicans, little city

(06:35):
conservatives all that, or libertarian Republicans. As long as we get together and
come together like we used to alwaysbe here in Colorado, Colorado roots,
we tin we can do this.Well. Tomorrow Central Committee members are going
to have the opportunity to first oustDavid Williams, and please, I'm begging
all of you for the future ofthe party. For the future of the

(06:56):
state. We have to move beyondDavid Williams lack of leader ship, and
it is a lack of leadership. So now I want to ask you this
question because you do have competition.Several people have stepped up and said they
want to be chairman. If youdon't get to be chairman, what's your
next step in the party? Well, absolutely so, I'm going to do
whatever data sea to get us towin. You know, this is a
six month stint in a way, because March is coming up to twenty five

(07:19):
when we have our new new leadershipand new you know, the new steps
to go, and I'm in itfor the long haul, you know,
if it's not only this the sixmonths, I'm up for March for the
seat also because I think we needcontinuous direction and one focus and one way
to get to get this done. And I believe that if I had the
opportunity to do this for the nextsix months and the next hundred and mondays,

(07:42):
you'll see all the different tactics andstrategies and people coming to the table
because we're going to be looking alldifferent, but we all bring it to
the table because we all have somethingto say. And how to do it.
Why would we listen to the people, listen to the party and find
a way we can do this towin and stop with the backstabbing, name
calling, crazy. I mean,it's unbelievable. So let me ask you
the hardest question that the next chairmanis going to have to answer, and

(08:05):
that is how do you bring togetherthe various factions of the Colorado GOP.
When I'm looking at the post underneaththat Lauren Bobert post on our social media
and you have those people, whyshould we team up with those rhinos?
Why should we all the name callingin the idiocy coming from a certain part
of the wing. We still needthem in the party. How do you

(08:26):
bring everybody together? It's just goingto have to be. They have to
have that one goal and a goalthat we want to win. This infighting
is not going to get us anywhere. We're always going to have those naysayers.
So the people who are honest andwant to get back and get to
the Colorado roops we used to have. I mean, it wasn't long ago
the state was a red state.I think we all know that old story
with the blueprint and all that.If we are one, we can win,

(08:50):
and do they want to win ordo they want to keep fighting.
If they want to, the fighterscan go keep fighting. But we're going
to stay on a strategy and literallyput this fire out. I appreciate that.
At Britta Horn is my guest.I hope you know, fingers crossed
that whoever gets elected, whether it'syou or anybody else, fingers crossed that
this is the new beginning for theRepublican Party moving forward in Colorado and we

(09:11):
can somehow write the ship and figurethis thing out. I appreciate that,
and we will, and with awin, we could get this done.
And I look forward to seeing everybodytomorrow and then not only asking for everybody's
vote, I'm also asking for prayers. All right, Britta Horn, I
appreciate you. I'll talk to yousoon, hopefully with good news. Okay,
thank you. I have a goodweekend. She's such a nice person.
