Speaker 1 (00:00):
Good morning, everybody. Welcome. I'm Ron Wilson and you are
in the garden here on news Radio six' TEN wtvn
broadcasting live today From Oakland, Nurseries, Columbus. Ohio The columbus. Location,
always you, KNOW i think Of, OAKLAND i just think Of,
columbus all the, locations but they're all Individual, Delaware, Dublin New,
albany And. Columbus it's The Oakland park. Location and it

(00:24):
is always a lot of fun to be here because
this is always wraps up our spring remote. Tour so
we've done this for many many years here and this
is kind of a unique because when we wrap up,
here this kind of kicks off their customer, appreciation annual
thank you sale, everything and they've been doing this for

(00:45):
forty five. Years everything in stock is on, sale so
everything that's, here everything you see is at least twenty percent,
off if not, more up to up to sixty six
and it could be more than that if they're really
trying to get rid of. Something but they bring in
all from annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees and it looks LIKE
i know you've heard me say this for twenty three,

(01:06):
years but it looks Like Mother's day. Weekend it's. Unbelievable
you cannot come in here and see all these fresh
annuals and perennials in the whole nine yards and not
walk away without buying. Something and the prices are, phenomenal
and they grow all of this stuff just for the
thank you. Sale so it's going on right now at

(01:27):
all The oakland. Nurseries but of course we're going to
be here today until, noon so stop out and say.
Hello and they have The Roase show going. On we'll
tell you more about that a little bit later in the,
show and we'll talk to the riiners and find out
what's going on as, well and a lot of folks At,
oakland so stop out and say. Hi but in the
meantime we're gonna kick it off like we always, do
with a cup Of Joe Mister, Buggy Joe. Boggs that's

(01:49):
The Buggy Joe Boggs, Report Joe bogs ex OH Su
EXTENSION osu educator of, course their website bygl DOT osu dot.
Edu mister Common sensical, Himself Bucky Joe. Boggs good morning, Sir.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
Good morning singer on the road, Again on the road.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Again it's always our last stop At oakland on The Oakland.
Park and you, know it's such a great place. Too
it's been, around it's one of the original, locations and
it's just got the ambiance. Here it's. Huge most people
don't realize how big this place is to you walk.
In you, know you drive by and, say, oh it's
a small garden center and you realize it's acres and
acres and acres of garden center And Jody dawson and you,

(02:31):
know you walk in A Jody dawson with that smile and.
Everything you know you can't help and then it's just you,
know it's all and hopefully you don't See.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Paul, well that explains. It See i'm usually greeted by
security WHEN i go to these. Place WELL i don't understand,
that but well it is great to hear that you're
out where people can still buy and. Plant and we
keep talking about. That you, know the, season our, season

(02:58):
let's take advantage of it perhaps getting a little, longer.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
Right oh, Yeah and if the thing of it, is
you know this time of the, year some places are
they're selling down and just getting. Out they actually go
out and grow at their own facility to have all
fresh plus bringing in for mother. Greenhouses so it looks
Like mom's day weekend right.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
Now, well And i'll tell you one thing that we've
all experienced. This you, know you go in early in
the season with a planting, idea, right you, know with
annuals usually always and and they and for whatever, reason
they're not working out as well as you, plan you
know WHAT i, mean just like oh, yeah and, uh
and so then you're thinking TO i just want to

(03:39):
just keep this, going you, know for the rest of the,
season hope for the. Best if if they're annuals in
their front and, center it's a it's a bed that
you really want to stick it up. Quickly sometimes it's
not bad to start, over right. RON i, mean you
know that's something that we hesitate, sometimes.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
Pull and replant exactly.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
Exactly and and so this is that's really. INTERESTING i
did not know that they did, that but that really
sits with that idea that, okay let's not lose the,
season you, know let's come. In and of course while
you know all the newer every year new introductions of,
things it's Like i've never seen something like that. Before

(04:22):
so gives us a chance to try things differently and all.
That and you mentioned, roses AND i got to tell,
You i've been so impressed my entire, career you, know
back before even working with. Extension how let's be. Honest
roses can have, challenges, RIGHT i, MEAN i manage the
high end hybrid t rose garden and then you know

(04:46):
you can't have another type of rose that matches Hybrid
t's right, there just.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
Isn't it's the. Fragrance and you're doing a lot of
breeding in the floor bunners and the grand of floors
and all. That but you're. Right and you know the
thing About, Oakland they've always been known for the. ROSES i,
MEAN i Think paul single handedly grows ten thousand plots
up ten thousand a year just. Himself but they've always

(05:13):
been knowing. That but today The Columbus rose clubs, Here,
wow they're having a rose show this afternoon from one until.
Four And i've heard word that there's a young man
back there that you might remember his name and something
Like Elton.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
Smith my, GOODNESS i, mean oh that so for the,
LISTENERS i, mean the best horticulture specialist professor At Ohio state.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
Retired never, retired never.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
Retire you just spayed away.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
And that is. Incredible, well and of course being there with,
roses AND i wasn't meaning to just, imply you, know growing,
hybridses but my point was that they're, finicky but you,
know for the, purpose you, know they have a. Place
but all the other, roses like you Mentioned Flora, bunda

(06:12):
the breeders just continued And we've been through a. Lot
ron you think about. It i'm, Gonna i'm, GONNA i,
MEAN i hope this isn't being broadcast there because IF
i say, this you might just see huge well you
may see huge numbers of the of The rose club
members just. Fleeing BUT i need to bring it up
because it was an issue and it still, is excuse,

(06:35):
me still. Is but you Know rose rosette, Disease oh my.
Goodness when that first started wearing its ugly head and
it's still, impactful you AND i were just, thinking, wow
this this is, it, RIGHT i, mean it's, like this
is really but what, happened it's still out. There it
still represents a, threat but the breeders just keep working

(06:58):
through these. Things And i've always Been i've always been
very impressed by THAT i had some knockout roses in
the front of my, house and you, know from my,
perspective AND i didn't realize. This SO i did a little,
digging you, know in preparation for doing a big alert
THAT i didn't know knockouts were introduced in the in two.

(07:18):
THOUSAND i thought they were more recent.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
For something twenty five year. ANNIVERSARY i did not know.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
THAT i just but if you recall when they were,
introduced you, know they were just they were diseased and
insect free and all the wonderful. Stuff and for a
long time they. Were AND i have to say my
knockouts are PROBABLY i mean they're eighteen years, old so
they're very early on in the whole you, know series of.

(07:45):
Introductions and yet now they do have some. Issues you,
know you And i've talked about this. Before, yes a
little rust that we never saw, before which is kind of.
Interesting it's relegated to the get to the inside of the,
plants you, know some rose, slugs awfly. Damage but my

(08:07):
point to it is that these are old and still
with the old. Genetics they still have a very front
and center. Place everything's happening right now towards the inside
of the. Plants they're not, perfect but they're in the
landscape AND i do AND i do nothing. WRONG i
do no spraying or. Anything and to have roses, blooming

(08:29):
they're just coming through a first, cycle because you know
they will bloom right through the. Season but they were.
GORGEOUS i, mean you know this whole you, know when
they started, blooming they were. Gorgeous and so my point
is that people will hear about these challenges and, believe,
well Maybe i'll do something, different And i'm saying, no

(08:49):
the breeders continue to improve and you, know try some things.
Out we bought and planted some miniature roses this. Year
never had them. Before AND i and the reason we
did my. Wife you, know we were driving past landscaping
and she saw, these you, know kind of creeping. ALONG i, say,

(09:09):
creeping that's not a good, description low to the, ground
providing really, nice little delicate. Flowers and, YES i know
that roses can have some, challenges but why. Not and
they look. Fantastic they just not, planted but they're in
a wonderful. Spot and AS i said to, her there
really wasn't anything else there THAT i could think of

(09:33):
that's doing the job of these miniature. Roses they're in
a little bed and they just have a really nice
little display. Spot.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
Yep and they're hardy and they're. Tough AND i tell you,
what the folks that the knockout the breeders. THERE i
don't know if you've seen the. One we got to
take a break, here but it's called petite and it's
h and that thing is. Outstanding it's a you, know
it's basically across between a miniature rose and a knockout
rose the double and it's a, tighter but the foliage is,
great stays, small that thing blooms its head off all

(10:03):
season long and just Phenomen so, again you're, right plant,
breeders rose breeders of coming up every year with new,
selections great disease, resistance, heartiness and of course trying to
bring fragrance back into the garden as, well which we've
lost in some of the some of the shrub roses aren't,
fragrant but bringing in trying to bring that back into
the to that as. Well so you're. RIGHT i think

(10:25):
roses continue to creep back into the, landscape and rightfully,
so because they kind of disappeared for a. While so all,
right quick breaking come back more With Buggy Joe, boggs
broadcasting live today From Oakland nursery On Oakland Park. Avenue
going to be here till. Noon everything's on sale twenty
to sixty six percent. Off to stop, out say, hello
AND i tell you you can't walk through here without buying.

(10:46):
SOMETHING i promise. You here on news radio six to
TEN wtvn welcome. Back you're in the garden With Ron.
Wilson you're on news radio six' TEN wtv in broadcasting
live Today From, Oakland Nursery Oakland. Park avenue were going
to be here. Till noon and don't forget at All The.
Oakland nurseries everything twenty to sixty six. Percent off everything
in stock is, on sale, hard goods, soft, goods, plants

(11:08):
shrubs you, name it it's. On sale it could be even
more than sixty six, percent off so check. It out
and that's at all of, their locations but of course
you want to come to the One in oakland to,
say hello so stop out and. Say hi And the
roases clubs here, today too and we'll talk with someone
From The rose club a little bit later on. As
well but right now it's Time for. Part two With
The Buggy joe Boggs Report Buggy joe BOGS From I

(11:29):
Wish You extension. Part, Two, sir yes.

Speaker 2 (11:33):
So this Is. Around robin so what are some of
the things that are that are popping up on your radar?
RIGHT now i don't do this THAT often i and
we have a lot of fun. Doing it now we're
getting close to being out, of, time.

Speaker 1 (11:47):
Yes yes. We are. YOU know i don't know, about
You but i've been getting with the excessive moisture or
consistent moisture we've had in the landscapes this spring and in.
THE gardens i probably you know some here is this
real heavy. Slug damage some years. It's not i'm just
getting at just hammered with emails about slugs just devouring

(12:09):
just about anything and everything in. The GARDEN and i
think the other Thing is i've had folks send me
pictures of pill bugs and thinking that was what was
causing the damage is when actually it was. The SLUG
so i have gotten a ton of that. RIGHT now
i don't know.

Speaker 2 (12:24):
About you, you know that's. That's perfect you're. Exactly right
i'm not too Sure that i've had more slug. Damage
reports and here's the challenge. For me, very often, you
know YOU and i will just get like a single
leaf picture or something that's not, quite right, you know
in terms of it just doesn't speak, to slugs and,

(12:47):
you know you're kind of guessing because there are, you
know there are there are insects that can that can
cause very similar leaf scraping. CONSUMPTION damage i don't know
how to. Describe it that, Was good that.

Speaker 1 (12:59):
Was good that.

Speaker 2 (13:00):
Pretty good they have rasping, mouth parts so they kind
of scrape off, the epidermis usually the, upper epidermis and
that can of course on hostas, for example a classic,
you know can lead to this kind of streak like
symptom that eventually causes. A hole, you know eventually the

(13:20):
tissue dries out, and drops AND like, i said, you
know so MANY times i, You know i'll get. THESE
pictures i have to tell this on. Myself though how
many times have you gotten pictures of a variegated leaf
and the white area is becoming, sun skull that's, it's having,

(13:41):
you know you start seeing it developing holes we're in.
The variegations that happened, To, me yeah. It does and
so that happened to me with hostas several. Years ago
and and of course You've Had, pam bennett You Know,
CLARK county i Issue Extension clark kenny on the show.

(14:02):
Many times. Twin, sister, yes exactly and that's. Exactly right
we were born in the, same day Day, before christmas so,
we yes we do believe. We're there, you know. We're related, But, nonetheless.

Speaker 1 (14:13):
Joe That's Called. Christmas eve by, the way.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
Yes It Is. Christmas eve but the point BEING is
i was starting to take pictures for slug damage and
that's how it was going to. Be labeled it was
a VARIEGATED host i can't remember, the type very, popular
though that has, you know white in the variegation right white,
and green and the white areas, you know we're. Turning

(14:37):
brown it just looked like, they were, YOU know, i
mean we were developing. Necrotic areas the tissue was disappearing and,
it's like oh. My goodness so but it had that
kind of streaking PATTERN and, i said, oh boy that's.
Really Bad and, pam, said yeah that particular hosta does
that if you put it in. Full SUN and, i,

(14:58):
SAID immediately, i said, oh yeah. THAT'S right i was going.

Speaker 1 (15:01):
TO say, i know what. You said, You, said, oh, yeah,
Yeah yeah i've. Seen, TIMES yeah I.

Speaker 2 (15:07):
Think i did kind of, say, yes odd how strongly
it resembles. Slug damage.

Speaker 1 (15:15):
Some folks that think that was slug. Silly people, that's.

Speaker 2 (15:18):
Right that's EXACTLY what, i said. You know and then,
You know I'M glad i was taking the pictures to
document this, unusual pattern. Sentim pattern but the point being
is that that you're entirely right slug damage on all kinds,
of things including, YOU know i got pictures of slug
damage on a very small, maple tree probably not more

(15:41):
than like, you know two maybe not even two, feet
tall been planted, this spring AND ron I never, i mean,
you KNOW so i get a maple leaf and now
what are you? Thinking it and it wasn't until the
end of the email message that they gave the size of,
the tree so, You know, I'm yeah i'm looking at,
this thinking, you know this is maybe, you know ten

(16:04):
twelve feet above, the ground right and looking at THIS
and i, COULD not, i mean it, was like what is?
Causing that, YOU know i just COULDN'T until i again,
read down you. Know further but anything low to the
ground is. My point and if you're if you're, suspecting
slugs the best time to see the culprits is not

(16:25):
at two o'clock in, the, afternoon.

Speaker 1 (16:28):
Right, that's correct it's two o'clock in.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
The morning at two o'clock in the, morning exactly and shortly,
after dark, you know go out with the flashlight and.
Start watching and it is also interesting how they get.
LARGE numbers I mean i watched this one time in.
The backyard is, almost scary, you know coming up from
the dust beneath the plants. Very slowly and here's something

(16:54):
that is also kind of sneaky, is that of course
slugs don't just start, out big but we often think
of them as. Being large we actually don't have that many,
large species, you know but we have. A few on the,
other hand the subs are talking about may not even
be a half. INCH long, i mean.

Speaker 1 (17:12):
They get those little.

Speaker 2 (17:13):
Bitty, guys yeah they can really of course some of
those are immatures and some are just, different species but
they can really do a lot of. Damage fast but
we need to end ON what i think is the most.
Creative way there are a lot. OF options, i mean
one thing can be to, you know pull the mult
away kind of help to. Dry things but this time

(17:35):
of year and with the spring, we've had that can be.
Very difficult the, other though it could be kind. Of
interesting and what is that run with? Pipe plates and
you've talked.

Speaker 1 (17:44):
About, this WELL actually i tried to pipe plate and
got in trouble with. My WIFE so i use the
empty tuna cans rather than the pipe plate because the
pie and the soil did not go over. Very well
got to use the tunic cans and empty obviously. Wrenched.
Out uh and then a little bit of beer, in.

Speaker 2 (18:06):
There a little bit, of beer and even, near beer
even the beer that non alcoholic. Will.

Speaker 1 (18:11):
Work well. GUESS what i don't know if you, ever
Saw But colorado state did a research.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
On that ONE time, i did and we talked. About
it the most amazing thing was.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
Non, alcoholic beers imported non. Alcoholic beers and.

Speaker 2 (18:24):
That's, the thing and that's the deal that is so.
Important here it does, attract them like, you know OF
course i like to, USE personally i think let's just
use the alcoholic version because then they can go out
with a smile on their little. Slug.

Speaker 1 (18:38):
Face, right well then you can put it in a
pan and boil.

Speaker 2 (18:41):
THEM okay i no one's, having, breakfast right it's.

Speaker 1 (18:46):
Already ready it's like doing. The grapefruit, you know you
turn the grapefruit, half over they get up inside, that
grapefruit you squeeze out on into a glass of vodka,
on ice and you, you know, all right.

Speaker 2 (18:58):
That's enough that's another but. That's right it's. Very effective
and again studies, have shown even In an ohio state
study done many many, years ago, you know can be
a very. Very helpful, you CAN as, i said. You
can't there are baits that can, be applied but if
you don't want to go, that route you can achieve

(19:18):
the same thing just by. Using these and thankfully this
is pretty, well known except This year i've been kind
of amazed with a widespread damage on in landscape where
people really never had the, problem before, you know on
things other than hosta, for example hosta growers know about
slugs from the get, Go right but the, beer trick

(19:42):
the beer attractiveness is very effective and and and to
talk about that's kind.

Speaker 1 (19:49):
Of interesting so, No, doubt hey we got. To go
great information, As Always Buggy joe boggs B Y g
L dot O s U dot E d u will
talk to You.

Speaker 2 (19:58):
Next saturday and Happy.

Speaker 1 (20:00):
Happy father's day, to. You sir, all right, Bye bye
and that, does work of course if Unless You're johnny
hill does the traffic here on. Six' ten If You
are johnny hill's, next door neighbor you, cannot do that
or at Least, don't tell johnny or there won't be
any beer in your pipeans for the slugs. To go,
to all, right quick break. We come back What? Are
the reiners will join us here broadcasting Live Today, From Oakland.

(20:22):
Nursery oakland avenue stop out and say hello here on
news radio SIX. To ten wtvn here we are Broadcasting Live,
From Oakland, Nursery oakland, avenue stop. Out say hello going
to be. Here Until Noon the rose, society is here.
So Stop Out The columbus rose club and they've got

(20:43):
a show going on from, one until four so you
can enjoy. That as well, and as usual they are
completely stocked with just about every an you, could ever
imagine all fresh and ready to go. In your garden
and of course This is the reiner HALF hour where
i just, get beat up totally raked, over the, coals
called names microphone taking away From me and. PAUL'S not

(21:06):
here i guess he felt. Sorry for you we get
we get the Privilege Of having mark Reiner. Instead, OF
paul yeah i guess he decided to. Take a break you.
WOULD a break i don't THINK you and i have
ever done this together that. We have, not all. Right
we'll good how many years are you going to run me?
Over the coals? Or this too i'm a little bit.
Nicer in him how many years have? You been on?
You see that you said that in nearways. Shaking, THEIR

(21:27):
head no i don't want. To start anything but however
long we've been doing this? Twenty, three, years.

Speaker 4 (21:34):
Yeah well so maybe we'll get him. Back on again,
but right now. You got me He's taken any when
he said this spring that was. His last one he
told me when you guys Were up IN delaware that
i was on. After this year. So that's fine do
you think he got tired of? Giv me grief.

Speaker 1 (21:50):
Maybe he ran? OUT of material.

Speaker 4 (21:51):
I don't know your dad run? OUT of material i.
Don't think so he's been known, to reuse material. So,
PROBABLY not no.

Speaker 1 (21:57):
I was going to say that that man would never
run out of him, Out of material so, explain to folks,
WHAT you, do i mean. You really do you go
you not only grow all of this, for this sale
but you go out and scarf it up from other.
Greenhouses as well.

Speaker 4 (22:11):
So we're big believers in. Extending the season so the
only way to extend the season and keep people coming
is to keep the. Place looking good so you might
go into some places and they're they're trying to get
rid of stuff and it's, old and tired, and you
know they want to sell out and. Go on vacation
we try to push things at least all the way,
through you Know, fourth of July, middle, of July.

Speaker 1 (22:32):
Right which, i've always said. PLENTY of time i plan
up to The fourth of july for, The, most part
right any kind of taper off.

Speaker 4 (22:38):
For the summer, in my household The spring starts march
first And it. Ends july, fourth so, Yeah that's right
that's kind of how it is.

Speaker 3 (22:44):
In.

Speaker 4 (22:44):
This business yeah, but uh yeah so, we you know
we brought in some truckloads of fresh, stuff just yesterday
and certainly you know a lot of the shrubs and
perennials are just coming, on fresh crops stuff that we
have grown locally in our in. Our growing facilities so
it's a really nice mix of pretty much everything people,

(23:05):
are looking for and everything's on.

Speaker 1 (23:07):
Sale twenty to, sixty six percent and some could be.
More than that if you're trying to, move it, on
you know we might make. You a deal if, you ask. Here,
you go Now How about malch maulch is? Twenty percent?

Speaker 4 (23:19):
Off it, is it, is no, Kidding no kid no
matter what you want, as many.

Speaker 1 (23:23):
Bags is there limited on HOW many bags i can have? In? This, time,
no really. YEAH no kidding i can get fifty three
bags of. Twenty percent off, paul's not, here so yeah
that's that's. What, we're doing well. That's no fun.

Speaker 4 (23:37):
The fifty two bag is a is a.

Speaker 1 (23:40):
Early spring, sale, oh okay, yes all right but twenty
percent off all the. Rest, of them. Yeah that's outstanding.

Speaker 4 (23:45):
And the weather is perfect. For mulching today so, you
know what, IN all sincerity i would this is a.
KIND of day i like to work out, in the
garden work, in the yard. GET it, PLANTED i Know
i got ray moved in, later Maybe maybe but, i'm
all done and then let mother nature water.

Speaker 1 (24:00):
In for me it's. A little bit it's Not gonna
be wilton as soon as you put it. In, the ground.
Exactly it's cool i'm not going to get. Sun burned
today that's a, great. Guarding day agreed and if you
buy chance get home and it is, starting to rain
just let it sit. On the patio you got tomorrow.
The next day you got plenty of, time to plan
so you can come out, scarfet up today make. The
big Savings You've got.

Speaker 4 (24:20):
Father's day tomorrow if that's something you, want to do
you could, do planning then.

Speaker 1 (24:24):
Or just don't let dad. Do anything tomorrow or you
could plan it for dad and you can plan it
for dad so he. Doesn't do. ANYTHING that's right i
got It Talk with mark Reiner Instead. Of paul reiner
it's kind of fun talking with somebody, that actually, doesn't
you know beat up on me. The, whole time, WELL.

Speaker 4 (24:40):
You know i think a lot of people, do ENJOY
that so i might have to work on.

Speaker 1 (24:44):
SOME they do i hear. More About that when's paul
going to me? Once a week and he really reached you.
Over the coals see?

Speaker 4 (24:52):
What you did you did tell me you, were semi,
Retired semi yes and you said you went from working
eighty hours A week and, i asked you is that eighty?
Hours a month, it's a, week so. Yeah it's true
but that you do that in. The springtime, too oh
yeah we.

Speaker 1 (25:10):
All do on seven days a week for a. Few more.

on site yeah maybe a little bit, less this year
and then we, ship you know probably about half of
those stay here and then we ship some out to
the other locations out, of this site and, we get
started Like in late, february, Doing that right it's a
good thing to get some of our, labor started early.

(25:44):
Get things moving it's always kind of the feeling the
beginning of the spring when we're starting to pot.

Speaker 1 (25:48):
Roses over there so you got the, club here today
they're going to have an open to the public show what, One, to,

if you Go inside the, education center here which is.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
My, grandparents' house.

Speaker 4 (26:05):
Uh there's vases with with cut roses and they're they're
judging for structure and color and, fragrance and, uh you
know really some expert rose growers and STUFF they've, been
i mean there's some some guys in there that have
been doing.

Speaker 1 (26:18):
It for decades so it's it's. Pretty Awesome here elton smith,
Is In there elton. Smith isn't THERE that's a i
didn't know if that was a. Rumor or not and
you talk about legend. Besides, YOUR father yes i think
with you. On, That one uh i'm gonna put you.
On the spot and we got to. Take a break
you grew up, In this business you went away from

(26:41):
this business when you, went, to college yep and eventually
you came back. To this business what?

Speaker 4 (26:46):
Brought you back this is. An awesome place we have.
A great staff i mean people that have worked. Here,
FOR decades SO i mean i, grew up HERE and
it i wasn't always sure, i'd come back, but you.
Know it was it was always kind of in the back.
Of my mind so my dad, wouldn't ADMIT this but
i think it became a point where he could probably.

(27:08):
Use SOME help and i was probably looking for a,
change of scenery and the two things, kind of aligned
and you.

Speaker 1 (27:13):
Were in the financial world. For, a while yeah it. Was, a,
trader yeah, yeah but yeah. That was well my.

Speaker 4 (27:21):

Over here but i've heard it's Pretty cool and. I've
heard it if For any of folksho've been around for
a long time, In This industry elton smith is here

(28:43):
and he is truly a legend, in the Industry Along
with paul. Reiner as well so you Get To see
ELTON smith and i haven't seen him in a long
long time. While WE'RE here and i mentioned before we
went into the. Break bonn eyed do you say bone eyed?
Or bonn, eyed you know everybody says it. A little,
different i know but, SAY bone eye i, SAY bon eye. I,
Say boneye okay so that. We don't care as long

(29:05):
as you, buy the product you got it. You got
It kevin From, bonneye or boneite is with us this
morning and talking about All the great Bonite or, bon
Eye products and i'm glad you're here because this is
one of the products you guys came out with a
couple of years ago that most of the garden centers
are starting to switch over. To THAT exclusively and i
don't think folks understand neme oils out there been. Out

(29:25):
there forever it's always shows up on the all natural
ways for fung just side, and sect aside. Blah blah
blah but then you look and there's all kinds of neme,
oils out there and then all, of a sudden the
neme max shows up on The shelves From.

Speaker 5 (29:39):
Bonneye ne max there was a need for a, better
neme oil let's just. Call it that and this is
not your your. Grandma's kneeme oil this is a. Cold
pressed product my grandma didn't, have any well neme oil
has been Out for since jesus. Walked the earth we've. Had, neme,
oil wow yes well my grandma didn't. Have so well

(29:59):
so the problem is the way it's produced today is they.
Heat it up they heat. The neme seed then they
dump alcohol over it to get the maximum extraction of
oil out. Of the seed the problem is.

Speaker 1 (30:08):
When you heat that you lose all of.

Speaker 5 (30:10):
The natural goodness there's a natural insecticide in the neme
seed called as a dract, and don't worry it won't be.
A test later and then there's also a natural repellent.
Called a limanoid so this actually has a residual. Regular
nem oil unless you hit the bug, and coat it
you're not going.

Speaker 1 (30:24):
To kill it it's.

Speaker 5 (30:25):
A leaf shine this product you can leave on your
leaf up. To two weeks we've got a sunscreen in
it because some will, break it down so we've had.
To develop that we also have a when, you mix
it stays mixed if you, buy the concentrate so. There's
an emulsifier it will never separate once. You mix it.
Once you're good but we also have an. Rtun hose

(30:46):
end but what you want to do. Is spray this
the Bug comes along japanese beetles starts chewing on.

Speaker 1 (30:51):
Your grape leaf he ingested.

Speaker 5 (30:53):
As a dracting it's a stomach poison that kills him.
In a day so there's actually the benefits, of the
oil but you get some natural insect aside and some
natural repellent qualities with it because you do. Not heed
it that's the.

Speaker 1 (31:05):
Big difference here graham. Wants to know can you use it?
On hip plants you wouldn't believe the.

Speaker 5 (31:10):
Label on this you've got, everything on here from bulbs
to bores to disease house plan is. On this label
how's it? Work on bores so the adults on, the
adults correct and it's if what happens is obviously if,
they're you know bores and miners will eat, your leaf
too so they're gonna Get, the asidractive okay so that's

(31:31):
how it's going to be the. Stomach poison there so
what the thing about is is especially in herbs is.
On this label so this label is the most complete
niam oil label there is in. The market today wow
with the residual, and it works, AND it works i
swear not.

Speaker 1 (31:48):
All OF them do i? AGREE with you, I mean
really i used to be an anti and then start
trying to use it more and more and this nee. Max,
great results yes we've researched this a long time before
we decided to bring out because we knew there would
be a lot of skeptics because there's so many manufacturers with,
name out there but we decided to do it right and.

Speaker 5 (32:07):
Cold press it and that's all there. Is to it
and all you have to remember is THE is a. Z.
Max name max you got thank for the chemicals just
as asy. As a draft that's the. Rest of it
it's bonn eyed or boneye however you want. To pronounce it, It's.
Their name max so if you were reading something online
or get recommended that you'd want to, use neme oil

(32:28):
go to your local independent garden center and Ask for Bonn. Eyd's,
name max yep. You, got it kevin we, want, to
say Hey congratulations to oakland. Eighty Five years bonn eid's
