beard that I've been trying to grow for this is
two months worth. This. This took me two months or
a month and a half. I guess we would say, right,
a month and a week or two.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Uh, So that's not a lot for you know what's better.

Speaker 6 (02:40):
It's filled in Thank you.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
I appreciate it. But we got her welcome.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
Angel's got a guy coming in today to shape it

Speaker 3 (02:52):
And we also we also have the winner of the
Monster Singing Competition. Briannas has her song and part of
winning the Monster Singing Competition was she got to go
in with a professional producer, which is our buddy, Matt,
Matt McEwan and have a song, you know, uh, put together,
completely produced the whole thing, and we would play it

(03:15):
nationwide nationally on iHeartRadio. So she gets that that happens today.
She's very excited to come in and debut her song nationwide.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
So that's happening the day along with it.

Speaker 6 (03:26):
People are coming in here today.

Speaker 2 (03:27):

You told me yesterday it was more me Friday and
it was just gonna be me and the and the boy.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
It is you.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
And then you invited you invited Jackie Siegeal to come in.
He did, and we had again the stand up comic
is a big deal. The guy's a big deal and
we're excited to have him and and uh, you know,
I'm sure you will like seeing this. A young young
lady get her song played nationwide. Is her dream come true?
She's so excited.

Speaker 6 (03:53):
I'm excited everybody's dream coming true.

Speaker 4 (03:55):
Good.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
It's not enough.

Speaker 7 (03:58):
About you, because I wish the dream more, mate.

Speaker 5 (04:01):
Maybe she didn't dream about me, she just didn't remember it.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
Angel I got to drive a damn spaceship to work today.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
Yeah, we're going to talk about that. Did you see it.

Speaker 4 (04:09):
Yeah, it looks fantastic. It is an incredible, incredible vehicle.
But you didn't listen to a word we said to
you yesterday about what you're just gonna Willy Nelly park
in the same spot that you would park your Blazer.

Speaker 7 (04:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
Yeah, well I went to because my son went Ryan, Uh,
I don't know if you remember, Brittany, my daughter was
able to drive up to her reception in my dad's
fifty seventy bird, right, it was a big deal, like the.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
Pictures with it was.

Speaker 6 (04:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
Well, Ryan calls my son's like, Dad, do you haven't
Is there a cool car that you can get? Because
I want to do kind of the same thing, So
I call him a buddy. Omar Rodriguez shout out to
Omar from Carl Black, Chevrolet, Buick and GMC and I
went by yesterday and picked up a white convertible Corvette
and it is twenty five.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
It's an incredible vehicle. R Angel. It's like driving a
damn spaceship.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
And I understand why older guys who got little wieners
drive a Corvette like that, because it makes you feel
like you're right on par with everybody else.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
If you're I.

Speaker 4 (05:07):
Don't know what any that last part of what you said.
I have no idea what Jimmy by that.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
The thing is they always say, oh, he's looking at
that guy. He's got it.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
He's got a Corvette. He must be trying to, you know,
compensate for me and having a little week.

Speaker 4 (05:18):
We say that about any guy with any muscle car
or any exotic car.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
Well, the reason they do it is because it does
make you feel like you're right on par with everybody
else as a fat guy getting into a little corvette.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
By the way, they make them big enough for us
big guys. I've been in it. I fit in it.
I fit perfect.

Speaker 7 (05:33):
The American car.

Speaker 5 (05:34):
We're going to make them for fans, the American cars,
American guys.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
I got into that thing yesterday. Uh, and I'm like,
am be able to drive this?

Speaker 2 (05:44):
You know?

Speaker 3 (05:45):
And uh, you can't help but go over eighty like
like because of because of the way that the car.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
Drives you want to go fast.

Speaker 5 (05:53):
Better not get one of them super speeder tickets.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
I won't. I'll watch it. The whole goal was that
he did on the way here. That's it.

Speaker 5 (06:01):
I've been close to getting superspeders. Think it's my own
self in my little call.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
Well, let me tell what happened yesterday. So I was
goofed the day before. I was goofing around with my
ways app right, and I wanted to get rid of
a couple of the things that because it kept giving
me these like notices like uh, railroad coming up or whatever,
like I don't want to hear all that.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
I hate the ways.

Speaker 7 (06:22):
I have so many Kravitz ways app but it just
keeps going go my ways.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
So I'm deleting all this stuff, right, and and so
I'm trying to get home from a Carl Block Chevrolet
viewickain GMC to my house in winter Haven, and it's
taking me all these weird ways. I'm like, what the hell, Like,
I know this is not the way to go, but
I'm like, okay, I'll pay attention. And I looked down
and it's like i'll be home in two hours. I'm like, well,
that's just not right. Turns out that I had hit

(06:48):
a button that said to avoid all of all highways.
So but so I spent I spent a good time
yesterday driving this to Corvette. But it was good because
it made I feel a lot more comfortable driving it.
Now because it's a I mean, it's a different thing
in a quarterback because you're lower to the grounds.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
You want to go fast. It's engineered to do that,
and it's a spaceship.

Speaker 3 (07:09):
When you when you're looking in the rearview mirror, it's
not just a rearview mirror.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
It's like, uh, it's a it's a camera, you know.
It's like it's kind a rearview camera. Yeah, a perfect
picture of what's behind you.

Speaker 6 (07:19):
I don't trust review mirrors.

Speaker 5 (07:21):
I don't trust review mirrors, and I'll trust rearview cameras.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
Why. I just don't.

Speaker 8 (07:25):
If I say closer than an objectment a peer, I
keep hitting my face.

Speaker 7 (07:28):
I don't.

Speaker 5 (07:29):
I have to turn all the way around right and
make sure I know where I'm going, Like I can't.

Speaker 6 (07:34):
I don't trust that.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
That's good, that's a good.

Speaker 6 (07:37):
Look at it and be like, I don't know about that,
and then I have.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
To turn angel. It's got a button on it, right,
Like if you're come into a railroad.

Speaker 8 (07:44):
Guns that come out of the side, did you guys
ever do that as your driver or tender stick shift
to a gun and you're shooting them.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
It's got a button on it.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
Where it lifts the front and it makes the front
go down. So I guess you have the front go
down when you're on the highway to go faster speed bump,
but it goes up when there's speed bump. But but
normally it goes back down to be closer to the ground.
Because I asked Omar, I said, well, can I just
keep it all the way up? And he's like, no, no,
it's not gonna do. You never been able to.

Speaker 5 (08:12):
Oh he got you on that one. I feel like
Ri's gonna Lenny Kravitz says all day to day.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
Anyway.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
Yeah, so I did get the Core, Matt, I got
to drive it. I understand why. You know they have
that thing where the hey, old fat guy's driving to
make you feel good, because it does make you feel good.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
Damn it.

Speaker 6 (08:33):
You guys.

Speaker 5 (08:34):
You guys had a party yesterday. From what I understand, Well.

Speaker 3 (08:37):
We had an incredible show, and we were to talk
about that in the next time. We're already late, so
we'll talk about the next time. Uh, well, there was
a party. We had an incredible show yesterday.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
You guys were here.

Speaker 6 (08:48):
Yeah, I know, I passed them.

Speaker 5 (08:50):
They were like, we're going to iHeart, and I was like, okay, yeah,
I'm going.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
To I saw a couple of your buddies.

Speaker 3 (08:54):
Actually, right when you were texting me, I saw them
and the they were coming in the door.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
I got to see them.

Speaker 5 (09:00):
You had you had Jamaican food at your party yesterday
because I had Ryce and Peas and Bammy because rock
Hill packed me at go plate and sent it with
them to for Oh did she Yeah?

Speaker 2 (09:09):
She did?

Speaker 6 (09:10):
And Amber wrote a note on top of it. Wasn't
that nice?

Speaker 2 (09:13):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (09:14):
Amber, I want to talk about yesterday a little bit.
We're gonna catch up with Savannah. She's done some incredible Uh.
She had an incredible trip. We're gonna talk about that.
We got a bunch of stuff to catch up on.
We'll talk about what happened with Ryan yesterday. Uh, and
then an email. I got a bunch of stuff, a
bunch of big, dumb fun. It's a Friday. Hope you're
ready for a good day. Don't go anywhere. You're listening

(09:35):
to the Match of the morning.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
Yeah, we got Spanning with us today. Good to see her.
She's gonna fill us in on her trip to New York.
I saw a bunch of photos. Look really cool. We'll
talk about that.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
We got We got Ali Sadik coming in a little
bit later on. He's gonna be the doctor Phillips center
hammer and nails to be here to get my beard
looking right for my son's wedding. We got a bunch
of stuff happening today. I do want to address though,
and go over yesterday because something sort of funny happened again.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
I don't know. Uh so Savan, I know.

Speaker 3 (10:11):
You were busy working at gator Land doing gator Land business,
so you didn't get to, you know, be with this
entire five hours.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
But yesterday started off.

Speaker 3 (10:18):
You know, I was in uh you know, what is
it when you feel grateful?

Speaker 2 (10:21):
I was in.

Speaker 3 (10:22):
I was in grateful mode, right self reflection, self reflection.
I had had like my yearly checkup, you know, like
a yearly review with doctor Reeney about where I was
last year to where I am now. Did you get
I did not get a colonoscopy, you know, but I did.
I did talk to my trading wealth people about where
I was financially then and now. And I mean like

(10:44):
came in here super positive, in a really great mood.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
And then we had.

Speaker 3 (10:49):
A couple of guests come in and one was George Wallace,
and then then we had killer Bees and the show
just it just was going absolutely awesome by the way, Uh,
he enjoyed. Wallace asked Ryan Holmes to open up for him,
not once, not twice, but all weekend.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
You're You've been.

Speaker 3 (11:05):
Invited to open or h you know, for a legend
which is really really cool. And then I kind of,
you know, I I listen.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
I knew Ryan could kill it.

Speaker 3 (11:15):
I sort of forced him to do his bit in
front of two legendary comedians.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
And you absolutely crushed it. Ryan.

Speaker 3 (11:23):
You proved that he didn't just give you that spot. Uh,
you know, because you're here. You proved that you deserved it.
And I was proud of you, and I you're not
supposed say that, right, you should be proud of yourself
that you did. You did a great job and you
killed it. Show went well and am Bernova made me
laugh with her stupid conspiracy theories. Uh. Then we had

(11:43):
a big meeting afterwards with a bunch of our clients.
I got to hang out with Judy like the big
big boss, talk to her and a lot of positive
stuff from her, A lot of positive stuff from uh.
Shannon Frasier, who handles a lot of the business stuff
around here.

Speaker 2 (11:56):
And then that talked to Rick Everett.

Speaker 3 (11:59):
He's so thrilled about our participation with Earth Day Birthday.
Like you know, normally they don't lit to radio stations
another radio station and get in on their thing, but
they're so excited because we're doing the wrestling gimmick at
Earthday Birthday. Just everything going good, right, great day. And
then uh and then I go to uh Carl Black
and pick up the corvette and this is just just

(12:21):
everything is just wonderful day. Get home and I start
doing a little bit of my work and I go
kind of checking my my messages and.

Speaker 2 (12:29):
You can be high on the mountaintop, you know. Uh.

Speaker 3 (12:31):
Oh, by the way, another ratings thing came out yesterday too,
so uh that was another positive. It's like, oh my god,
you know, it's just a great, great day. And then
the first uh direct message I read is this one.
This is a it just goes to the show. You
can be thinking you're on top of the world.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
Russ.

Speaker 3 (12:46):
I've been listening to your show for a long time
and I honestly don't know what's happening to you.

Speaker 2 (12:50):
Why do you think.

Speaker 3 (12:51):
Any of us, uh will tune in to hear your
endless ramblings about burlesque wrestling, washed up comics like today
and uh what you're now calling sports These days, I
feel like you really run out of things to talk about. Meanwhile,
there are actual issues in the world that other talk
show hosts don't shy away from. Serious stuff like the

(13:12):
war in Ukraine, concerns about immigration, and debate over fairness
in women's sports. But instead of you tackling anything real,
you're acting like some side show host instead of someone
who actually knows.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
What they're doing.

Speaker 3 (13:28):
Maybe take a page from the other people who run
their shows like a professional, because right now, Russ, I
feel like you've forgotten how to do your job.

Speaker 6 (13:38):
Oh my gosh.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
I'm like, I'm like a douche.

Speaker 3 (13:43):
It's signed a fed up listener and and I'm like, man,
you could go and have a day where you're like,
we just hit it out of the park all day long,
and then you're gonna find a person.

Speaker 2 (13:56):
You're doing the thing.

Speaker 4 (13:56):
A person you're doing the thing? What's that thing? Listen
to how you just set this up? Right? Ye all?
And I okay, And this is the part where it
gets kind of confusing sometimes with you because sometimes you're
doing you do stuff for stick for content for radio.
Maybe that's what you're highlighting this right, because you just
rattled off an amazing, amazing, twenty four hour run that
doesn't even make it to the plate.

Speaker 3 (14:18):
Then yeah, no, no, I know that's the one person
light well, you know what, I don't care, it's all
it gets all fodder for you know what.

Speaker 2 (14:27):
That's just our audience is that.

Speaker 3 (14:29):
There are still people that even most of our audience
absolutely loved yesterday.

Speaker 2 (14:34):
And you're always going to have.

Speaker 3 (14:38):
A detractor that's going to have something that give to
say about burlesque or wrestling or the way we do sports.
And it's like, and here's my message to those folks,
And I know your message. Your message is why I
give him any because I want to say this.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
That's why we do what.

Speaker 3 (14:52):
We do and it's different from everybody else, and that's
why we're the number one morning show in town.

Speaker 2 (14:58):
Yeah, we leaning.

Speaker 3 (14:59):
We lean in the stuff that nobody else leans into
because we're different. That's why AI can't take my job
because what we do, nobody else would think about, Like
who the hell cares about wrestling?

Speaker 2 (15:09):
What we do and we're doing it. Who cares about burles?
What we do? We do it?

Speaker 3 (15:12):
Why don't you treat monster sports more serious? Because we don't.
That's how we do it. We do it different and
that's why we're number one. And for the five of
you that send an email like this, and there's some
people that text us, go listen to something else.

Speaker 2 (15:24):
Man, Well that's what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (15:25):
That's I guess that's the point of it all the
sense of that particular person. They answered their own question.
They can get that someplace else.

Speaker 2 (15:32):
Everywhere else. Yes, so so so the.

Speaker 3 (15:35):
Fact that you're I'm pointing out that we're completely unique
to the entire audience.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
No, I get.

Speaker 4 (15:40):
And here's the thing though, that that's one of those
things where again, because we've got a year of ratings
behind us, and we've done all the things, all the
things that person's complaining about, we've been doing them for
the last couple of years.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
Well I've been doing it my entire career all this.

Speaker 4 (15:52):
No no, but I'm saying no, no, just highlighting this
windows time because they referenced, you know, the things that
are going on globally and everything, right, yeah, yeah, And
because of the decisions that have been made and internal
and conversations that have been made. Hey, we're getting the
results that we need to be getting doing what we're doing. Yeah,
so that Hey, there's plenty of other places where that
person can go get that correct.

Speaker 3 (16:13):
And like the way we do sports has made Angel
considered the number one sports guy in town. Right. The
thing we're doing with wrestling means that we are a
part of Earthday birthday, and no other radio show in
town could do what we're doing with the wrestling thing,
the burlesqued thing. It's something that no one else has done.
We're doing things that other people don't do because we're
completely unique. And if you want something like what they say,

(16:34):
like every other talk show, then do every other talk show.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
You don't got to listen to this man. This is
what we This is what we do.

Speaker 5 (16:41):
And I think also people forget people forget things like this,
like this is a brave radio show.

Speaker 6 (16:49):
It is a brave radio show.

Speaker 5 (16:50):
It is not common in today's society for anyone to
do anything that's not what everyone else is doing. So like,
even since the beginning of the show, this has been
a brave radio show. You know, like the characters that
have come across here, the music that's come across here,
the topics that have come across here, the things that
we've done legally to try to help people that have

(17:12):
come across here.

Speaker 6 (17:14):
Like everybody in the like not everybody.

Speaker 5 (17:16):
Obviously, but like the general population is not very brave.
They want to do everything like everyone else. So don't
be mad at that guy. He's just a peasant, and
peasants don't understand how royalty works.

Speaker 3 (17:26):
I just thought it was it's interesting to point out
I think, I think, thank you, and thank you Spann.
You're right about that. It's interesting to point out though
you could be on the highest.

Speaker 2 (17:35):
Of high right, and then one person he didn't yuke
my yarm. He didn't.

Speaker 3 (17:39):
He didn't put me in a batter way. No, no, no,
I just wanted to point it out.

Speaker 2 (17:43):
Right.

Speaker 3 (17:43):
Look, I'm gonna I couldn't be happier. I don't know
about y'all, but you know you got the the the.

Speaker 7 (17:49):
I thought we're having fun Briday.

Speaker 8 (17:50):
Now I got to hear some dumb guy who just
believes me coming, like, doesn't even like care, like your
life is stupid.

Speaker 7 (17:55):
I don't care. My life's fun. We have fun.

Speaker 8 (17:57):
We bring a lot of happiness to a lot of people.
She has a actively yuck, myam, screw this guy. That's
why I don't recomment.

Speaker 3 (18:03):
You know what's washed up comics like we're on your
show today, Like, man, I love talking to those guys.
Like like talking to George Wallace was.

Speaker 7 (18:12):
After the word comedy legend weird. Huh he said the
word comedy legend weird.

Speaker 2 (18:16):
Who did that?

Speaker 7 (18:17):
Guy? That's it's It's not it's comedy legends.

Speaker 3 (18:20):
Always said a wash up car. Yeah, comedy legend, Yeah
for sure. Uh, but it just goes to show work.
You could be in an incredible dude about all the highs,
and then there's always gonna be one person that sees
it different.

Speaker 5 (18:31):
Also, like like as A as A, as A as
A United States right now, like the emphasis on having
fun is just not there anymore either.

Speaker 6 (18:40):
It used to be like people.

Speaker 5 (18:41):
Want to have fun, Like they want to have a
good time, they want to laugh, they want to joke,
they want to feel better, right, right, Like it's like
my dad tells me about Joel Ostein. Right, I listened
to Joel Ostein every day, right, And I know a
lot of people don't like him, but I don't care.
Joel Ostein is a preacher and he's also a motivational speaker,
and so if I tell him my dad, I'm listen
Joel Ostein, He'll be like, that's a feel good preacher,

(19:03):
and I'm like, yeah, that's what I want.

Speaker 6 (19:05):
Why am I.

Speaker 5 (19:06):
Trying to not feel good? Like I'm not trying to
wake up in the morning and not feel good about
my life. Right, I'm trying to feel good when I
walk out the door, and so like the world needs
to feel fun again, like it.

Speaker 8 (19:17):
Doesn't know, we got to talk about women's Everything.

Speaker 5 (19:20):
Is not everything is not a problem, and we live
in the greatest country in the world.

Speaker 4 (19:26):
Obviously, has that no idea what they're talking about. Their
heads so far up their ass that they because again,
when was the When were the monsters ever serious?

Speaker 2 (19:34):
Never? Never?

Speaker 4 (19:37):
So so with that said, it's a you know, that's
what I'm saying, That's what I'm trying to say, and
I get it. And this is the duality of it.
Its content. We've got a segmentary to fill in and
there's all that. I understand all that, but that doesn't
come that doesn't even get to my radar, and I
agree with you.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
And I know what you're saying. I just I think
what I.

Speaker 3 (19:55):
Just wanted to reiterate to anyone who wants to take
time to complain if we do a wrestling segment, or
if we do a segment about burlesl like we did yesterday,
or if we're talking to a you're wasting your breath.
Russ Rollins has always done this, and I always do
what I do, and I always do what I like,
and I always do what's fun to me, and complaining
about the content of the show, you're wasting your time.

(20:15):
You would be better instead of texting us or emailing
me to just listen to something.

Speaker 6 (20:18):
Else, to find yourself a new program.

Speaker 2 (20:20):
That's an ain'tle change, man. I've been doing this thirty
three years exact same way.

Speaker 5 (20:24):
Uh and we men, trust me, everybody that's known Russ
for a long time.

Speaker 6 (20:27):
We've tried to change it. It doesn't work. So what
makes you think your dumbass email is going to change it?

Speaker 3 (20:32):
There you go, So you you're wasting your time if
you're sending us a text about content or what we're
talking about, or.

Speaker 5 (20:39):
I don't want to talk about wrestling all the time
when I come in.

Speaker 6 (20:41):
But that's what we're going to talk about sometimes.

Speaker 3 (20:44):
That's that exactly, That's what that's what we got going on.
But here's the thing. You know, back in the day
when we just have a band, right, and the band
would get us in front of a bunch of people. Yeah,
Now our gimmick is we've got the wrestling thing. We've
got a big thing going on in winter Haven. Yes,
Angels DJing it, Ryan's got a party bus, Amber's wrestling
and and and now it's gotten us into uh two
Earthday Birthday as an entire show. So it's a new

(21:06):
alley to get us into events and to have fun.

Speaker 2 (21:08):
And everything is just big, dumb fun. It's not supposed
to be serious.

Speaker 3 (21:12):
This is all about fun. So so that's what we're doing. Ryan,
are you excited about.

Speaker 8 (21:17):
My mood is ruined? I hate this guy. Let's go,
let's go find.

Speaker 2 (21:20):
Let's go beat him up.

Speaker 3 (21:21):
No, I are you excited about opening for George Wallace?
And I I have complimented you several times about you
killing against today and you will and you haven't texted
me back, and you have. After the show, angel I
sent him a text, say, bro, I gotta tell you
you absolutely killed it today and you should. And I
said you should be proud of yourself, because I almost

(21:42):
I almost said I'm proud of you, and I realize
that's condescending, So I said.

Speaker 4 (21:46):
You know, Ryan, you acknowledging it, right, he knows, like.

Speaker 3 (21:51):
Well he could say thank you, Russ, right.

Speaker 7 (21:58):
I need to think, oh my god, text you back.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
I know you did.

Speaker 7 (22:03):
And second of all, I'm so mad at this guy.

Speaker 2 (22:05):
I want like he's forget about that guy.

Speaker 3 (22:08):
Yeah, that guy represents all the people that text in
and what we're doing a bit, and they're like, these
guys or whatever, screw those you got. You're wasting your
time if you're if you're talking.

Speaker 2 (22:17):
To me a content of the show.

Speaker 7 (22:19):
I just don't acknowledge those people.

Speaker 8 (22:20):
I feel like some local celebrity riot homes and these
dorks don't even hit my radar at all. They sometimes
try to friend me, and they always have a Facebook
profile that's like take it from down here with sunglasses,
you're right about so they can.

Speaker 7 (22:34):
There's so many times I almost cursed now this morning.

Speaker 2 (22:36):
Talk to me about forget about that guy's email.

Speaker 3 (22:40):
Talk to me about you being successful yesterday and earning
a spot to open for the great George Wallace.

Speaker 7 (22:47):
Problem is you think you did it.

Speaker 2 (22:49):
I did not do it. I know you did it.
I knew you.

Speaker 7 (22:51):
You're like, look what I did for you.

Speaker 8 (22:53):
I made you do it, and now now it's because
of me you get to do it. Okay, I know
what you're doing, so thank you for letting me, uh
and shine through you by letting you manipulate me.

Speaker 2 (23:03):
Okay, well I accept that said. How many comics you know?

Speaker 7 (23:10):
But you're nervous. But it's fun.

Speaker 3 (23:12):
You're here all the time, right, and you should take
opportunities to be able to do to further your stand
up career. Here's an opportunity where you're on the show.

Speaker 7 (23:21):
George Wallace. I want to open for for sure. These
guys come in and I'm like, I'm good.

Speaker 4 (23:27):
And the other part of it is it's a it's
a feeling vibe thing. And in this regard, and if
I'm speaking out of school, let me know, Ryan, in
the sense of that, I'm certain there's been other guys
that you were interested in doing it. But in the
process of sitting here and talking and everything and seeing
if the ViBe's correct and if the ViBe's correct if
the conversation goes that way, because I'm sure those comics

(23:47):
everywhere they go, there's a there's a guy at every
radio station who doesn't is it cool about it or
chill about it? Be like yo, I want to open
for you and that, and then that sets a different
kind of tone and vibe and everything.

Speaker 8 (23:59):
So George Wallace, I mean like he immediately knew that
why this guy is as successful as he was from
the moment meeting him right away, very friendly, very warm,
then like learned everybody almost super fast.

Speaker 4 (24:12):
Lets you know that, like that right off the bat,
He's like, that's a different type of dude right there.

Speaker 3 (24:16):
And just so you know, he texted me after the
show to thank me again for allowing him to stay
so long.

Speaker 2 (24:21):
The class guy, Now, how classy is that? He Yeah,
he was in six segments.

Speaker 5 (24:25):
Like he's been in the show before, like I've met
him before, and he was absolutely wonderful, absolutely wonderful.

Speaker 6 (24:32):
So good for you, Ryan, he.

Speaker 3 (24:34):
Said, I think it was eight years ago and you
you probably were here. And he did tell a joke
that he told eight years ago because when he started
telling the joke about the about the orange shoes like, oh,
he did that last time, but still so funny as hell.
Uh and and the guy, the guy was just amazing.
And then kill the eight.

Speaker 8 (24:50):
That's the thing, like like I want to talk to
him about because like I'm like, I'm this age and
I feel like my mind is starting to break, you know.

Speaker 7 (24:57):
Yeah, And I'm like, what does he do how? It's
just incredible.

Speaker 8 (25:01):
I think seventy I think my grandma, you know, like
trying to do stand up comedy.

Speaker 7 (25:05):
And he's he's six ft like four or five.

Speaker 2 (25:08):
He was taking a back about how tall I was.

Speaker 4 (25:10):
He's like, oh, you're a lot taller than I had
a place.

Speaker 7 (25:14):
I would never clock him at seventy eight, first of all.

Speaker 2 (25:17):
And then here's the other part. I didn't realize this.
We didn't even talk about it.

Speaker 4 (25:19):
His brother was a professional football player with San Francisco
forty nine ers.

Speaker 2 (25:22):
I didn't know that. Yeah neither.

Speaker 3 (25:24):
Yeah, I know that yesterday as well as that Bees
came in and I didn't know.

Speaker 2 (25:28):
At first, I thought, oh.

Speaker 3 (25:29):
I got to get one guy out and get another
guy in, you know, in order to give him a
proper interview.

Speaker 2 (25:32):
I'm like, now you know what Bees has been here?

Speaker 3 (25:34):
So many times killer Bees, Let's just bring him at
the same time and see how that goes.

Speaker 2 (25:37):
And it went great.

Speaker 3 (25:38):
He complimented him, you know, it's not like one was
trying to overshadow the other. They complimented each other. Bees
was still funny, had some funny lines.

Speaker 5 (25:45):
And that comes from being a professional, right, Like that
comes from being like like a very well uh yeah,
like a showman, right.

Speaker 6 (25:55):
Or like a statesman.

Speaker 5 (25:56):
Right, you learn that, like everybody in comedy is not
your competent titian.

Speaker 6 (26:00):
Like they got along really well.

Speaker 5 (26:02):
They played off each other, like that's great, Yavana.

Speaker 4 (26:04):
One of the best lines he had is, uh, He's like,
everybody wants to be the top of the mountain, how
about just getting on the mountain mountain, you know?

Speaker 2 (26:11):
And I was like, damn, that was.

Speaker 3 (26:12):
Good because you said people on the top of the mountain,
you got prints, you got Michael.

Speaker 2 (26:15):
Jackson got all these other problems they burn out, you know,
kind of super interesting.

Speaker 8 (26:20):
Is so like the other thing I noticed about him,
and again goes to like why.

Speaker 7 (26:24):
He's so successful so long? We couldn't get him to
talk us about anybody.

Speaker 2 (26:28):
He wouldn't.

Speaker 8 (26:28):
He had a nice that that's such a move like
reading about things like this, that's such a move to
just like you to bring somebody up, you compliment them.

Speaker 3 (26:36):
He's gonna be hard to beat as far as this
year Hall of Famer, like like like, I can't imagine
him not making the Hall of Fame.

Speaker 2 (26:45):
The TXIC.

Speaker 4 (26:45):
The Texic has been pretty oudam and eye. We haven't
really addressed it, but I mean he would die first, right,
that's on par on par with like, uh, what we
did with Tommy Davidson. There's there's a there's a discussion
to be had and either we have it or put
it to bed, whether we should entertain the idea of
putting him in right now, because like you just said,

(27:05):
we're in the very beginning processes of this, and in
a year.

Speaker 2 (27:09):
Does it dilute it? Does it dilute it?

Speaker 3 (27:11):
If we automatically blit people in like that.

Speaker 2 (27:15):
It's our own things, so we can do it if
we want, but think about it.

Speaker 4 (27:18):
And in this regard, the only other person to do
have blown us away like that was Tommy Davidson. And
Tommy did this kind of the same thing, and it
says he hung out with us for six seven segments.

Speaker 3 (27:28):
You know what I'm saying, let's do that. Can we
do a pole, Can we do a poll and ask it?
I mean, does it dilute the Hall of the monster?
Guess hall of fame? If we just become so enamored
by someone and just throw them in right away?

Speaker 2 (27:40):
I mean, is that diluted?

Speaker 6 (27:43):
I think you need to throw TJ. Miller in there too.

Speaker 2 (27:45):
See there's the thing t J.

Speaker 7 (27:47):
Miller.

Speaker 3 (27:47):
You and I both loved him. So many people didn't
like him because a lot of people have a problem
with his backstory, and I don't.

Speaker 2 (27:55):
I would.

Speaker 6 (27:56):
Everybody's got a backstory, man.

Speaker 3 (27:58):
I agree, Savannah and us human beings is like, you know,
learn our lessons and do better.

Speaker 6 (28:04):
Like that's that's the world.

Speaker 3 (28:05):
So here's my point. If if it were up to me, TJ.
Miller was in here for five or six segments, he
was wonderful, I'd throw him right in right away.

Speaker 2 (28:14):
But is that diluted? Right?

Speaker 8 (28:15):
Like?

Speaker 2 (28:16):
Is that there? We put it up to a vote
this year.

Speaker 4 (28:18):
I hear what you're saying, and I think what the
difference is is like in the sense of it's not
just us, right, this is overwhelming response for them listeners.
And it's also because of how the experience was with
Tommy Davidson when we had that again, not throwing casting
shade or anything. But when we had TJ in, not
one person said that, not one text said the.

Speaker 3 (28:39):
People said he should be in the Hall of Fame,
but a lot of other people said he shouldn't even
be in the room.

Speaker 4 (28:44):
Again overwhelmingly, then the sound and the noise was, or
the response was, why are you even entertaining him?

Speaker 2 (28:49):
Why are you?

Speaker 3 (28:50):
I will say I remember the negative more because it
does stick out, But there was a lot of positive
about him that day. So so going back to George Wallace, right,
we just did our Monster Guests Hall of Fame introduct chairs.

Speaker 8 (29:03):
Comedian George Wallace not a famous segregationist.

Speaker 2 (29:08):
He's got a road named after in Georgia.

Speaker 8 (29:11):
There'd be a time in the Monsters where they might
have put that guy on the wall.

Speaker 7 (29:14):
We're talking about different George Wallace.

Speaker 2 (29:16):
This is true.

Speaker 3 (29:17):
Okay, okay, So I'll let you put the ball up.
You guys can text me at seven seven zero three one.
Do you think we should just leg put George Wallace
right in the Hall of Fame because of his appearance yesterday.

Speaker 2 (29:27):
I think they're saying put him in now does not dilute.

Speaker 7 (29:32):
It said it will kill him.

Speaker 3 (29:33):
But we got Billy Gardell that we still got to
get the plaque for Billy Gardian coming next week, and
also for Guy Tory, who both definitely deserved they were
they got the boats and all that kind of stuff.
If we do I don't know something about me thinks
I mean, I think he believed he belongs in the
Hall of Fame.

Speaker 2 (29:50):
He was.

Speaker 3 (29:50):
That was probably one of the greatest come in interviews
by any celebrity, probably almost ever. Bob Bob saget pretty good,
you're right, and then and then Eddie Money. God, dang it,
he was so funny. But anyway, right, we'll take a break.
We can discuss this. And also we're gonna catch up
with Savannah.

Speaker 5 (30:07):
Don't worry about catching up with me. Just keep on
going with your stuff.

Speaker 2 (30:11):
We got five hours.

Speaker 6 (30:12):
We'll get somebody just forget it.

Speaker 7 (30:16):
To catch out with me.

Speaker 4 (30:19):
Emails, No, no, a little sidebar here as well. We
were promised breakfast yesterday, but the show got away from us.
So I'm curious that if we could, uh you know, catch
that check in today.

Speaker 3 (30:29):
Well I got well, I got the Monster music Man
Matt wants to bring us Chick fil A.

Speaker 8 (30:34):
I'll allow it, okay, but but I'll give me one
of the breakfast burritos was breakfast.

Speaker 2 (30:43):
He wants to bring it at ten o'clock.

Speaker 6 (30:47):
Before this.

Speaker 7 (30:48):
Yeah, starting will not even come in.

Speaker 3 (30:50):
I'll tell you what I am in a damn great mood.
I reflected over the past year. I'll I'm better than
I've ever been. I will buy everybody breakfast if you
one breakfast, so Y's issues breakfast on me? All right,
don't go anywhere. You're listening to the Monster of the Morning,

(31:18):
all right, get a lot of text at seven seven
zero three.

Speaker 2 (31:22):
One appreciate it.

Speaker 3 (31:26):
Making some good points about the Monster Guest Hall of Fame.

Speaker 2 (31:30):
Welcome back.

Speaker 3 (31:30):
I'm Russ Rollins, along with Savannah and Angel and Ryan Holmes. Okay,
George Wallace was in yesterday. And remember someone pointed this out.
Remember when I said, you know, the reason we started
the Monster Guest Hall of Fame was because of John Witherspoon,
and I felt bad. We never got a chance to
let him know how much we appreciated the fact that

(31:52):
he had he would come in and bring such a
you know, just do such a great job and stay
and entertain our audiences.

Speaker 4 (31:58):
Another one that he would have come in and just
hang out with us. But he was never under any hurry.
He loved hanging out.

Speaker 2 (32:05):
And George Wallace said just that, why didn't you tell him?

Speaker 3 (32:06):
Man, which was a very good point, right, like, why
didn't you tell him? So people are saying, Russ, if
you wait a year at George Wallace's age, you know, you.

Speaker 2 (32:17):
Never know, it could be too late. Agree or disagree.

Speaker 7 (32:22):
I mean he's seventy eight.

Speaker 5 (32:24):
I mean, put the man in there. Just put the
man in there. Who cares put him in there?

Speaker 2 (32:29):
I guess there are no real rules there.

Speaker 6 (32:32):
Are we do you make up the rules? When is
the last time you.

Speaker 5 (32:35):
Just dictated, dictate that this is what's happening.

Speaker 7 (32:38):
We might as well just be the Rock and Roll
Hall of Famer this day.

Speaker 6 (32:41):
If you're the host, whatever you want, be the host
of the show.

Speaker 3 (32:43):
All right, Angel, tell him to order one more, one
more platform, George Wallace, that's our second instant instant in
the Hall of Famers.

Speaker 2 (32:54):
He definitely deserves it.

Speaker 3 (32:55):
I love the fact that he's having Ryan open up
for him all weekend this weekend. That is really cool.
He stayed all segments. He he he.

Speaker 4 (33:03):
Would have stayed to the close of the show. Oh,
I know, yeah, all the reason I had, Yes, we
had showed it.

Speaker 3 (33:09):
Yeah, I guessed that I had already been invited in
the burlesque, the Blessed Thing, so I had to.

Speaker 2 (33:14):
We had to do that.

Speaker 3 (33:15):
Matter of fact, the burless thing was supposed to happen
at eight.

Speaker 2 (33:17):
They sat out.

Speaker 3 (33:18):
There in the green room for an hour and a
half or so. Wait, and I'm like, let's I'll get
you in the last segment. I'm not getting I'm not
making George Wallace leave, you know. Uh so all right,
I feel good about it. And then that way, as
soon as we get the plaques, I've got George Wallace's number,
and I can let him know. Hey, a man, we
put you in the Hall of Fame.

Speaker 4 (33:37):
He's in Miami a lot. I wouldn't be surprised if
he would. He drove back up.

Speaker 3 (33:40):
Oh. He texted me. He said, he said he's gonna come. Heause,
I might just come in town just to hang with
you guys. And that's okay. He's like, I've never done
Honest to god, he was being super cool. I've never
done radio like that before. I've been doing this. Uh,
my entire life.

Speaker 6 (33:55):
Itself is saying something great.

Speaker 2 (33:57):
Yeah, he enjoyed everybody.

Speaker 3 (33:59):
I mean like he got along with Amber, he got
along with Angelique, he loved.

Speaker 4 (34:05):
He had to deal with Angelique and Amber. And Amber's
over here, just going off the rails.

Speaker 2 (34:12):
What did you say that, Amber? That was like when
did you when did your mind walk out on you?

Speaker 3 (34:19):
Or something like why did your brain walk out of
your head like that, something like that.

Speaker 2 (34:22):
It was funny as hell.

Speaker 4 (34:23):
She's not She's over The scenario is this, She's over here,
kind of half listening. She's over here, you know whatever.
And she's sitting in here now right at that point
of the day. And all mister Wallace mentioned was that
in the early days he was in sales and he
used to sell this towel kind.

Speaker 2 (34:38):
Of thing, shamow.

Speaker 4 (34:39):
And it was and it was before the sham wow, right,
All she hears and all of that, All she heard
was the word sham wow. And as we're talking and everything,
she comes in again. I hate to use a wrestling
analogy with her, but that's all the way that it works.
Off the top rope and does this whole thing about wow.
The shambow. It's an hostile it's best however, so oh great.

(35:00):
I used that to one like it was like Bart Simpson.

Speaker 3 (35:03):
Rather it's man, I'm in the middle of interviewing Jeorde
Wallace about stuff that guy's going on, and she just
pops in about the sham.

Speaker 2 (35:11):
Well everybody wherever we're it was funny.

Speaker 4 (35:13):
They were all stunned and we're like and and you know,
it's like, is she really is like, yeah, that's that's
that's how she is.

Speaker 2 (35:19):
And that's when Georgia was immense asked her about her
brain walking out of her head. Yeah, it was pretty funny.

Speaker 3 (35:24):
All right, listen, we've got we got trivia time coming
up next. If you want to get on the line,
it's a good thing to do because we have had
some great prizes this week. The telephone numbers four oh seven, nine,
one six one o four one. Angel will tell us
what prizes we have when we come back. Don't go anywhere.

Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
