Speaker 6 (03:23):
How far?
Speaker 3 (03:24):
How far? Best? How far down the road are you? Steve?
Speaker 6 (03:28):
I'm on twenty seven, headed down to one ninety two.
Speaker 3 (03:32):
Oh you're way on down the road. Okay, all right,
Well we got.
Speaker 4 (03:35):
A trivia You got a tribute question for you, buddy.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
If you get it right, you're the man, You're the king.
You get to plug, promote whatever you want, and you
get the prize. If you don't get it, then you
got another shot. Angel or Rio can try to get
it for you.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
Are you ready, yes, sir?
Speaker 2 (03:48):
Twenty two years ago, on this day, in two thousand
and three, this twenty one year old became the youngest
singer to ever get a star on the Hollywood Walk
of Fame.
Speaker 3 (04:00):
Who was it, Michael Jackson?
Speaker 2 (04:04):
Michael Jackson was not twenty one in two thousand and three,
so that is incorrect. Who do you want to help?
You've got Angel and you've got Ryan.
Speaker 5 (04:13):
I like Angel, Angel Rivera, I don't like you.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
Twenty two years ago today, in the year two thousand
and three, this twenty one year old became the youngest
singer to ever get a star on the Hollywood Walk
of Fame.
Speaker 3 (04:26):
Who was it, Britney Spears.
Speaker 4 (04:33):
Boom, Britney Spears is correct, Yes, it was Britney Spears.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
They didn't take you long. I was doing the math
in my head. It had to be one of them,
and I was trying to figure out it was between
her or Christina Christina Aguilera. But I don't know if
Christina ever got one. I don't know if she did either.
Speaker 7 (04:49):
He's got one, and Brittany got one. She was like,
you got to get me one too.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
She paid the fifty gees.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
Yeah, she was twenty one at that time, the youngest
singer to ever get that. I don't know if it's
if it's changed since then, but at that time, I
am she was the youngest singer to ever get to
a star or on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Uh
and now boys once again, like she deleted her Instagram,
I think it came back. She's still it seems that
she has more problems than everything. The Free Britney movement
(05:17):
probably wasn't the best for Brittany. She probably didn't need
someone helping her out.
Speaker 7 (05:21):
You know, sometimes rush in life, you think you know
a situation and you don't know, and so you think
you think, like, oh, this is gonna be the best
for something. It's like this this person, we should we
should vote for them to be free and do whatever
they want. Yeah, and then you realize later that's a
really bad idea and it's okay to go, oh, maybe
(05:44):
we shouldn't have done that, and that could do a
lot of things.
Speaker 5 (05:48):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (05:48):
Yeah, so anyway, but tell you she was she was
the youngest. Have you ever seen either of you ever
been to the Hollywood Walker Fame?
Speaker 5 (05:56):
Nope, I've been to California.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
Yeah, I mean it's all over Hollywood, is downtown Hollywood,
So you just walk around different neighborhoods or different because like,
what's the Chinese Theater? Yeah, that's where I went. And
then and then there was another one. There was a
really famous deli, dang, I can't remember the name of
the deli that had some of the stars on there too.
In La Yeah. Yeah, and I saw that, and it's
(06:19):
what's interesting about it. Sometimes when you're doing that, you're
going to see names there that you have no idea
what their contribution it was to Hollywood on the Hollywood
Walk ye Walk the Fame thing. Mark, This is way
back end of the day.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
It was a two thousand and I think two thousand
and two or something like that. Mark Merrow, who I was,
you know, close friends with, was working with Gene Simmons
at the time because his wife at the time, Sable,
was in Playboy and they did something with kiss. I
forget what it was, but so Mark knew Gene really
well and he's like, hey, I can get Gene to
(06:55):
call you, but they're busy this morning. They're on their
way to the Rock and Roll Hall of or not
the wrong the Hollywood Walk of Fame to sign to,
you know. And so they were in the limo when
Gene called us, and the entire band was there and
they were on their way. So every time they showed
they were on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. I can think, man,
they were talking to us on their way up there
(07:17):
to do that, which is a kind of a cool thing.
But anyway, all right, we got Steve on the line.
We'll take a little break. We'll get to know Steve
a little bit when we come back. Don't go anywhere.
You're listening to the match in the morning. Hey, Ryan,
(07:37):
we have to get together our our favorite Christmas songs.
So tomorrow you meet you an angel, and who's here
on Tuesdays?
Speaker 3 (07:46):
The just met you and angel tomorrow right, sometimes in
the week, but the champion comes in on Tuesdays.
Speaker 4 (07:52):
Oh, the champ Yeah, t deal Piper, Oh yeah, Piper.
So we gotta like introduce our favorite.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
Christmas songs because they're gonna have us featured on Magic
when I was seven point seven for their Christmas music
this week.
Speaker 3 (08:04):
This Friday, right is our day. Yeah, we're recording this
for friend. Oh well, okay, while we're at at an
event on Friday.
Speaker 5 (08:13):
Friday.
Speaker 3 (08:14):
Where were we on Friday?
Speaker 5 (08:15):
Isn't?
Speaker 3 (08:16):
Uh no, well, we don't anything. What am I thinking about?
Speaker 5 (08:20):
I thought, weren't doing anything else in November?
Speaker 4 (08:22):
No, Yeah, we're good. We're't anything from November. We just
have to get to do that the Christmas thing so
we can.
Speaker 3 (08:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (08:28):
The reason that they changed the Angels because we have
the December fifth, That's.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
What it was.
Speaker 2 (08:31):
Yeah, for the risk prosor bless. Yeah, so they switched
us out a little bit earlier. But people already listening
to Christmas music. I've seen a bunch of stories about that. Hey,
welcome back. I'm Russ with Angel and Ryan here.
Speaker 4 (08:42):
Today we have our winner on the line, Steve, who
won in trivia.
Speaker 2 (08:45):
Congratulations buddy, Right, Angel got it right for you. The
Britten Spears answer, Steve, how long have you been listening.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
To the show.
Speaker 6 (08:54):
Oh, gracious, you aren't gonna believe this. I'm seventy two
years old and listening to this radio station for about
thirty years.
Speaker 3 (09:03):
I do believe it, sir.
Speaker 6 (09:04):
And that's the first time I've ever called a radio
station in my life. I never thought I would get through.
I just was driving down the road and I heard
you all, and I said, well, I'm just going to
give him a call. And I got through. And I'm amazed.
I'm a little stunned.
Speaker 3 (09:19):
I'm a little It's cool man.
Speaker 6 (09:22):
Assciate you guys. I appreciate every one of y'all. I'm
there for entertaining me for my long drive that I
do all the time. And I just I just enjoy y'all.
I really do well.
Speaker 2 (09:33):
I appreciate it. Thank you so much. I know, are
you retired yet? Are you still working?
Speaker 6 (09:39):
You know I'm still working. I'm I'm stupid. I can't retire.
I tell my wife I love her the pieces. But
if I don't leave, how you're going to miss me?
And I just I just like to work and I
like to keep going.
Speaker 3 (09:51):
Hey, there's nothing wrong with that. That's good.
Speaker 4 (09:53):
And are you're obviously are you a truck driver?
Speaker 6 (09:57):
Don't say I'm not a truck driver. I really I
kind of roll. Don't want to really say what I
do in a way because I uh, I know it's
going to pop out in between here. And I'm not
trying to advertise for anybody, but I do. Uh. I
do pressure lossing, repairs and service and and I still
work with my hands. I'm still mechanics and and I
still get dirty and I still get but I do
(10:19):
it for large companies and stuff like that.
Speaker 3 (10:21):
Good.
Speaker 4 (10:22):
If you love what you do, there's nothing wrong with it. Man,
that's good.
Speaker 6 (10:25):
He keeps you going, Yes, it does, it really does.
I I just I just enjoyed getting up every morning
and going to work. And I know I'm kind of
slowing down this a little bit, but but I still
I still enjoy the work and I love I miss
you guys as far as when I go over to
I live the other side of Brooksville. I know Ryan
knows where Brooksville is at.
Speaker 5 (10:44):
Oh yeah, and.
Speaker 6 (10:46):
And I live in spring Hill, but I can't really
pick you guys up there, so I just can't wait
to get back over kind of a cross over in
the next county so I can listen to y'all.
Speaker 3 (10:55):
Very good well time, So well, that's good.
Speaker 4 (10:56):
You know you can listen on the app.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
I don't know if you've got that figured out yet,
but the app thing you could listen anywhere at any time,
just so you know.
Speaker 6 (11:04):
Okay, I'll try that. And I'm kind of hold for
that stuff.
Speaker 3 (11:07):
I got you. That's why. That's what I say.
Speaker 4 (11:09):
And sometimes it really isn't that hard.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
Once you did at once, you'd be like, okay, this
is pretty easy. But I get it. Some people don't
like I don't play with that stuff. Hey, what would
you like to plug and promote and tell us about.
Speaker 6 (11:19):
I just like to plug and promote you guys. How
fantastic you are, how entertaining you are. I love listening
to each and every one of you of your different
events that you all do. And I've been going to
come to one of one of your events, but like
I said, I live clear over there, and but I
still enjoy it. I'm like you, Russ, I still like
my alcohol and I still like my food a lot.
(11:42):
So yeah, there you go plug and promote you guys.
Speaker 4 (11:45):
Those are my two favorite things, sir.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
Hey, listen, you know what you can always, you know,
grab somebody and get a room on December fifth and
go to the Burless Show.
Speaker 3 (11:56):
It's gonna be a lot of fun.
Speaker 4 (11:57):
Uh uh.
Speaker 3 (11:58):
You know that. That's our wrestling event coming up in January.
Speaker 2 (12:01):
And we have a big wrestling event in January that's
in winter Haven, which is closer to.
Speaker 6 (12:05):
You, right exactly. And I've been listening about that and
I've been thinking about doing that myself. I've been it's
got to talk my wife into it. I mean, she
enjoys doing all that kind of stuff. And then she
just kind of rags on me a little bit about
you listening to them and then then wanting to go
to the events, and I go, heck, yeah, I mean
that they're a big part of my life.
Speaker 2 (12:23):
I think she would I think she would enjoy the
Burless show. It doesn't get like, you know, dirty or
anything like that. It's just, you know, it's just burlesque,
se h, because it'll be that's a classy event. And
then the wrestling event in January will be fun, a
lot of drinking. You know, we got we got wrestling
going on. Angel's gonna be spending tunes. Ryan's got his
party bus, so that's gonna be fun too. So we'd
(12:44):
like to see you come out to one.
Speaker 6 (12:45):
Of those, I do we can try it. So I
want to make a good attempt to try to make
it to one of those events.
Speaker 4 (12:51):
All right, buddy, Steve, thanks for listening as long as
you have been.
Speaker 3 (12:54):
I appreciate it. Buddy.
Speaker 4 (12:55):
We'll put you on hold, make sure you get your
prize and you have it.
Speaker 3 (12:57):
You have a great day.
Speaker 6 (12:58):
Okay, thank you very much. Russ and guys, I appreciate everything.
Speaker 3 (13:02):
You got it.
Speaker 4 (13:02):
Take care now.
Speaker 2 (13:03):
So yeah, man, we only have like so many shows
before we're off for our Thanksgiving break. Isn't that hard
to believe? You know, Thanksgiving coming up very very soon.
They just came out with the average cost the average
American is going to spend how much do you think
on Thanksgiving? Now, this probably just counts if you're hosting Thanksgiving,
if it's at your house? Uh, do you either one
(13:25):
of you host it at your house? Hell no, no,
have you ever hosted it at your house?
Speaker 5 (13:29):
Never gone?
Speaker 3 (13:30):
Yeah, So I'm at the age where I've done it.
Oh you've done it one? Yeah?
Speaker 6 (13:33):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (13:33):
So, uh, you know, I dow years ago and then things,
I don't know what, I've done it many many years.
Speaker 2 (13:40):
And this year they're saying it's you know, they got
a particular amount. What do you think the average America
that's hosting Thanksgiving at their house what it costs them?
Speaker 3 (13:49):
Two hundred dollars? Two hundred dollars.
Speaker 5 (13:52):
That's very very.
Speaker 3 (13:53):
Low, very low. Angel, What do you think? I don't
know what an you think? Right? Eight?
Speaker 4 (13:57):
Eight hundred dollars? You're closer.
Speaker 2 (13:59):
It's a thousand dollars if you're hosting it at your
house and I can.
Speaker 3 (14:03):
Step doing it everyone eating lean yeah one for getting
turkey sandwiches in.
Speaker 5 (14:13):
It could be done for two hundred for sure.
Speaker 3 (14:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (14:15):
Yeah. I think I'm going to put my foot down
this year for me though, What are you doing?
Speaker 7 (14:20):
I think twenty twenty five I spent my entire life
going to multiple Thanksgivings because I have my dad and
my mom are obviously not together. And then it's always
been like I've had to take the Thursday and like
plan out how I eat and like strategically schedule how
I go to places, and it's been it's very frustrating.
Speaker 5 (14:40):
It's actually super stressful day of the year for me.
Speaker 3 (14:42):
Because you're trying to make sure everyone gets enough, right.
Speaker 7 (14:44):
Because if I know, if I go, if I go
to the other place, like they feel neglected. Then the
people that I leave, they're mad that I'm leaving, and
I can never like I have I feel like strategically
eat yeah you know what I mean, because you have
to eat at all the places, and it's so frustrating.
So this year, I'm like, from now on here on
that my dad has passed away, I am doing one Thanksgiving.
I'm not doing multiple dinners anymore, none of that.
Speaker 3 (15:06):
And then you know, that's okay.
Speaker 5 (15:08):
I think that's fine.
Speaker 7 (15:09):
I think I'm allowed to enjoy Thanksgiving at this point
in my life.
Speaker 3 (15:11):
At your age, it is okay, listen, I'm just this
is what I'm doing.
Speaker 5 (15:14):
I mean, when you're.
Speaker 4 (15:14):
Younger, I think you have a responsibility to jump around,
like when you're younger, like Okay, this is what you're
supposed to do. But then you get a certain age, it.
Speaker 2 (15:22):
Is like, okay, I'm just going to one place and
that's yeah. And that's why I've always hosted it at
my house, like it's here, if you want to come,
you can come if you you know, you don't know.
I've moved out the winter haven, so nobody comes over.
Speaker 5 (15:33):
Well, to make it really inconvenient for everybody I have.
Speaker 2 (15:38):
You know, I've got people that are coming. But then
my daughter told me, she's listen, Dad, I got Chris
is working because he's a firefighter, and it's just me
and the two kids, and it's it's a far drive,
and I'm just I don't think we're going to make it.
Speaker 3 (15:50):
And I was.
Speaker 2 (15:51):
I wanted to cry a little bit, but I understood,
like I'm like, okay, I get it. You know, She's like, listen,
I just it's just too much for me to drive
an hour with two kids screaming, and I'll have Chris
to help me. And like, you know what, I'll come
see you when Chris can come. You know, her husband
maybe that weekend, but on christ on Thanksgiving Day, I
just I'm just have decided. She just decided, I'm not
(16:14):
gonna do all that. It's too stressful for me to
understand it.
Speaker 3 (16:17):
Yeah, everybody moved that the second day, the leftovers are
it tastes way better, that's right.
Speaker 5 (16:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (16:24):
And uh, but but we had a small crowd coming
from Thanksgiving, and then after the wedding.
Speaker 3 (16:29):
It grew a little bit more.
Speaker 4 (16:30):
You're like, oh, we know, we got we've got tote
these people, and so we've got more people coming than we.
Speaker 5 (16:36):
Say, you just had the wedding. No you don't, you
just saw No.
Speaker 2 (16:40):
But you know what, at the wedding, I got this
overwhelming feeling of how important family is and how lucky
and blessed I am to have these people. And then
you never know who's going to be there next year
kind of a thing, you know, So I feel like, okay,
you know, we want to invite everybody. And uh and
even Mary Ellen. Uh she agreed with me, like she's like, yeah,
we got we've got to do this, even though it's
(17:01):
a lot of work.
Speaker 3 (17:01):
Really for her, she knows what is the work, you know.
Speaker 2 (17:05):
Uh, And we've got the whole house decorated for Thanksgiving
and and she's like, I want to put up a
Christmas tree.
Speaker 4 (17:11):
I'm like, no, you can't put up a christ tree yet.
Speaker 3 (17:13):
You gotta wait till after now.
Speaker 4 (17:14):
Uh yeah, you can do that.
Speaker 2 (17:17):
You can't mix, you know, fall decorations with a Christmas tree.
Speaker 3 (17:21):
There's no rules anymore.
Speaker 6 (17:23):
Now.
Speaker 3 (17:24):
All you gotta do is go driving around. There's a
house that's got the Turkey inflatable with the Abominable Snowman,
the one that we made the T shirt up right,
So there's a whole there's a whole new inflatable with
that guy and all the characters. The first time I'd
seen it, I was like, that is awesome. Yeah, it's
like five hundred.
Speaker 7 (17:42):
Did you see the one that what they're doing out
of Gaylord Poems right now with their ice there.
Speaker 5 (17:46):
They always do that ice thing.
Speaker 3 (17:47):
Yeah, I love it.
Speaker 5 (17:48):
This year it's it's it's Ranked Rasking and bat.
Speaker 3 (17:51):
Bakons and Rank or whatever Basking rink or whatever.
Speaker 5 (17:54):
Yes, it's the first time they've almost got me to go.
And I'm like, that does seem pretty cool.
Speaker 3 (17:59):
It's pretty cool to go to that.
Speaker 4 (18:00):
I mean, it's if you're if you're looking for something
to get you in the you know, the spirit, and
you got your girl. It's like a good little date
night thing.
Speaker 7 (18:06):
Yeah, I think last year is like Shrek and I'm like,
I'm not gonna go see Yeah, I'll go see the
root from the.
Speaker 3 (18:13):
So I've never been. But is that is that more
for kids or is it for adults or is it
just in general Christmas?
Speaker 2 (18:18):
It's family but like you know, you and your girl
with enjoy and it's it's a it's a good thing
to do. Uh So anyway, but yeah, we decided and
she really Mary Allan was like, I don't know know
if I want to decorate for Christmas that much this
year because we're gonna be gone half the month. Uh
But then after we had the wedding, She's like, Okay,
I'm gonna decorate for Christmas because you know, people are
coming over and we want to you know, got to
(18:40):
keep that keep that positive energy going. Oh so she
decided like we need to buy another big like she
likes the artificial trees, right, so have you I haven't
like priced artificial trees in a long time. And because
of the tariffs, did you know that uh like a
(19:01):
ninety five percent of the Christmas trees, artificial Christmas trees
made come from China, you know, yeah, yeah, they come
from China, and all the with the tariffs, all the
prices of artificial Christmas trees are almost doubled. Oh my god,
I can't believe how expensive they are. Like I'm like, well,
there's got to be some discount or something on Black Friday,
you know, like a home depot or something where you
(19:23):
can get one. But yeah, that's our next thing, and
trying to find a really good fake tree one.
Speaker 5 (19:30):
Those aren't im China.
Speaker 2 (19:32):
Okay, here's why Mary Ellen was a paramedic for in
many years. Most of the fires that she saw were
from real Christmas trees.
Speaker 3 (19:41):
She does not like real Christmas.
Speaker 5 (19:42):
Yeah, but those people also smoke mass.
Speaker 4 (19:44):
Possibly, I don't know. But instead of me trying to
change her mind, I just say, yes, ma'am.
Speaker 5 (19:49):
A plastic tree can still burn down.
Speaker 3 (19:51):
No, they are, they're they're fire retarded.
Speaker 5 (19:54):
Hey, we don't say that word anymore.
Speaker 2 (19:58):
It's retardant retard, Yes, not retarded retarded, it's fire retarded.
Speaker 5 (20:04):
No, that'd be a weird episode of the Human Toy.
Speaker 3 (20:16):
Laugh.
Speaker 5 (20:18):
I don't know.
Speaker 7 (20:19):
I want I always want to get a real tree
because every year I have to like spray down my
fake Christmas tree with what well, because I keep it
in the shed, so it stinks and the shed gets.
Speaker 3 (20:30):
All gross, oh, gets all moldy.
Speaker 5 (20:32):
So I gotta like pull it out, like host it around,
let it dry like it's the whole thing. I've never
put it up.
Speaker 4 (20:37):
I've never done that. I was keeping in a nice garage.
Speaker 5 (20:39):
Well I've seen how you do it. You wrap your classic.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
I wrap it with cellophane and uh, and I keep
on and I keep all the all the decorations on it.
Speaker 4 (20:48):
You just wrap that with cellophane.
Speaker 2 (20:49):
And it's like a nice little tight little package and
you put Uh. But the tree I have is super
thin and skinny. And now we have a bigger house
with a big area where we can have a bigger tree.
So it's you decided to get another artifical treatment. Those
because of the tariffs have gone up tremendously, you know
what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (21:06):
Yeah, I heard they wouldn't be.
Speaker 5 (21:10):
China pays the tariffs. You don't pay the tariffs, right.
Speaker 4 (21:13):
Well, I'll send half the bill to China.
Speaker 3 (21:18):
Respond to that.
Speaker 4 (21:19):
Okay, I'm gonna I'm about selling ignorant again.
Speaker 5 (21:22):
And that's what I do.
Speaker 4 (21:23):
But do they do they use Christmas trees in China?
Speaker 3 (21:27):
They don't do. They don't do Christmas China. No, it's
for the American market or the rest of the world.
Speaker 4 (21:30):
So they're making Christmas trees in China and send them
over to us. Yes, why don't we have American Christmas
tree makers?
Speaker 3 (21:36):
Oh boy? Wait?
Speaker 7 (21:37):
Well, I mean, do you want to go into the
economics that we've taken all the manufacturing out of the
out of this country and moved it to third world
countries to make the cheaper and bigger returns for stock
market shareholders.
Speaker 2 (21:48):
We need to make Christmas America again.
Speaker 7 (21:50):
We do you just you just just buy the tree.
It's a real tree, Detective barb trees down on obt.
Speaker 4 (21:57):
It does not want a real tree.
Speaker 2 (21:59):
And I'm not gonna you pick your battles right like rush,
give him the ring beforehand. Don't get in front of everybody. Fine,
listen to you. Uh you know the Christmas tree?
Speaker 4 (22:08):
You know?
Speaker 3 (22:08):
Okay?
Speaker 4 (22:09):
Fine, if it's something super important.
Speaker 7 (22:11):
Sounds like women are running your life, buddy, they are.
You need to fight back, but your foot down there.
Otherwise you just become their bitch.
Speaker 3 (22:18):
You know what that get me? Get me?
Speaker 5 (22:22):
You could fight back.
Speaker 7 (22:23):
A little bit, though, I mean, like you, it sounds
like you're being controlled.
Speaker 4 (22:26):
Now.
Speaker 5 (22:27):
This is not the Russ Rollins I grew up with
listening to on the radio. Russ Rollands is the man.
Speaker 3 (22:31):
You would push me into another divorce.
Speaker 7 (22:33):
I know what you want to divorce.
Speaker 5 (22:35):
Pushed back a little bit.
Speaker 7 (22:42):
We didn't like to be pushed back against.
Speaker 3 (22:45):
They do.
Speaker 5 (22:45):
They want you to kind of show that you like
your experience.
Speaker 3 (22:48):
Yes, so you push your wife around.
Speaker 7 (22:51):
My wife if I would walk all over me, I
have to push back sometimes. There's things that I don't
even want to push back on that I do it
just out of principals, so she knows I'm a man.
Speaker 2 (23:01):
I do if I really care about it, whether we
have an artificial tree or a real tree, I don't like.
I think it'd be fun to have a real tree.
But she's got a thing.
Speaker 4 (23:10):
She's seen too many fires as a paramedic with real trees.
She doesn't want one.
Speaker 2 (23:15):
So how am you looking to spend I don't know, well,
I mean I don't know's they're like seven eight hundred bucks.
Speaker 3 (23:21):
I think I found I'm sending these to you an email.
So I think I found two companies that they claim
to make their trees here in America. Oh I like that.
Speaker 4 (23:30):
Yeah, I have freedom freedom Tree, Give me a Freedom tree.
Speaker 3 (23:36):
So I was just asking to see what, like where
your price point was, what price point you got? Well, okay,
so cause you're looking for a bigger, fuller tree. And
so there's some of the ones that with lights already
on it. Yeah, with lights on it and everything. So
again I'll send it to you and you look, because
they cover the spectrum. If you want to spend eight
(23:58):
hundred dollars, they got you covered. Do you want to
spend five hundred dollars, they got you covered. And then
they got a couple of them where there's just one
it looks really super full. It's a Builo Classic of Pine.
It's one hundred and forty four bucks. Oh wow, yeah,
that's doable, and it comes with the lights and everything.
So I'm sending you two links to do different companies.
Speaker 2 (24:15):
Everything I looked at it was like I was gonna
have to spend about five with the lights and everything.
Speaker 3 (24:19):
Well they have that right and it's a massive tree. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (24:23):
Yeah, my wife wants me to get one of those,
because our whole house is like mid century modern, and
so she wants me to get one of those Christmas
trees from those times, which was like the fake one
but they were like silvery.
Speaker 3 (24:35):
Oh yeah, I like those. I think that from the sixties.
Speaker 5 (24:38):
From the sixties ugly as simo doubt.
Speaker 4 (24:43):
Yeah, She's like, she's like love it.
Speaker 7 (24:44):
She's like, this is how they did it back and
that they would match all our furniture. And I'm like, gosh,
like the ugly Trees Fantastic four.
Speaker 2 (24:51):
If that movie, if it was in the Christmas time,
that's the kind of christ tree they'd have, like tensil, Like, uh,
it looks like aluminum.
Speaker 5 (24:59):
Yeah. Why were people in the sixties doing that?
Speaker 4 (25:01):
I have no idea, but I love it for some
reason because it's so tacky and so sixties.
Speaker 3 (25:07):
Oh I'm gonna suggest that to Mary Ellen. Watch you
watch or slap.
Speaker 7 (25:10):
Me Like She'll pull up all these pictures and like,
while I like the furniture style of all that, this
this is an ugly tree man.
Speaker 3 (25:19):
Oh yeah, that's awesome.
Speaker 4 (25:23):
It's terrible, but I love it.
Speaker 3 (25:26):
Who with that first? I don't know.
Speaker 7 (25:28):
I don't know the plastic company. It's so crazy.
Speaker 3 (25:31):
I started in the in the forties and fifties.
Speaker 7 (25:33):
Yeah, and then so people people genuinely like them. There's
versions of things that I like that are so ugly
that they're cute.
Speaker 5 (25:40):
This is not one.
Speaker 3 (25:41):
There's a version of that tree though, when it's done
right and lit upright that it looks awesome.
Speaker 4 (25:45):
Why do I associate that with the sixties? But it
was the fifties.
Speaker 5 (25:48):
Wasn't fifty sixties that.
Speaker 3 (25:51):
Terrible?
Speaker 7 (25:52):
Yeah? I know I have pictures of my grandma looking
like this sitting next to tree.
Speaker 3 (25:56):
You know what, Maybe that's it because I have a
photo of our our family that at some point that
someone in the family had one of those.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
Like an aluminum Are we taking a little break? More
big dumb fun when we come back, don't go anywhere.
You're listening to the Monsters in the morning. Sounds like
(26:30):
tso a little bit. Welcome back to the Monsters in
the morning on Real Radio one oh four, probably one.
Speaker 4 (26:37):
I hope you're having a great day. It's a Monday.
Weather is absolutely perfect, and I think it's gonna be
it's warming up for the rest of the week.
Speaker 2 (26:46):
Man.
Speaker 4 (26:46):
We can't stay we can't stay cold for nothing.
Speaker 3 (26:48):
In Florida, it was nice, had a little bit of chili,
you know.
Speaker 5 (26:51):
Uh, that's gonna be a beautiful week about it.
Speaker 3 (26:54):
I know.
Speaker 7 (26:54):
Yeah, it's like like a great week. No no rain,
beautiful weather. Enjoy this part of it.
Speaker 3 (26:59):
Yeah, I mean what makes awesome is the low humidity.
That is the best part.
Speaker 5 (27:04):
Yeah, for sure, it's got the heat, it's the humidity.
Speaker 2 (27:07):
And I got something like for the next couple of months,
Like this week is my mom's birthday, so we're doing
birthday stuff for mom this week, and then next week
is Thanksgiving, and then the next week we've got the
Monster Burless show, which will be great.
Speaker 3 (27:21):
Uh. We got the bike drive to do.
Speaker 2 (27:23):
Uh, and then we get a couple of weeks off
and I'm driving to uh to New Orleans after Christmas Day.
After Christmas, we got a week before Christmas is to
do whatever we want, which is uh, which is nice.
So uh yeah, next couple of weeks and then the
Christmas party. There's got to be a iHeartMedia Christmas party
coming up.
Speaker 5 (27:40):
Oh yeah, well there's the one there's giving coming up.
Speaker 2 (27:43):
No, that's usually in a Monday, like a Monday night
or something. Are we doing that this year? You guys
know about it.
Speaker 5 (27:50):
I don't know anything about it.
Speaker 4 (27:52):
There's got to be a Christmas.
Speaker 5 (27:53):
They do it last year. They didn't do it last yek.
Speaker 3 (27:54):
Yeah we did because we were at Alixir. Yes.
Speaker 5 (27:57):
Oh yeah, in a weird day where I had to
get up the next morning.
Speaker 3 (28:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (28:02):
I bet Raquel's listening. She knows that she's screaming, screaming.
Speaker 3 (28:06):
I sent you the email us.
Speaker 5 (28:09):
Can we get it on a Friday or we take
that Monday off. I feel like I never can hang out.
Speaker 3 (28:14):
I know.
Speaker 2 (28:14):
I always feel like I got to leave too now.
Oh wow, this year I live in winter Haven.
Speaker 5 (28:18):
Oh yeah, buddy, enough to rent a room downtown.
Speaker 4 (28:22):
I'm not reading a room downtown.
Speaker 5 (28:23):
Well then you ain't going, are you?
Speaker 3 (28:25):
I don't think I am.
Speaker 2 (28:27):
I just realized that, like I can't. I mean, the
party starts at seven.
Speaker 7 (28:32):
I remember when you moved to Winter Heaven. I'm like,
it's gonna change your life. It's gonna affect how you
do stuff Like No, I won't affect me. I'll be fine.
Speaker 2 (28:37):
It's changed my life for the much better. I'm much happier.
Speaker 4 (28:41):
Just getting home yesterday, I'm like, oh my gosh, it's
so nice to be home.
Speaker 3 (28:44):
I don't know if they've sent when they invite out
for this year's because last year's was actually on the
I thought I saw angel.
Speaker 2 (28:51):
Second, I think the Christmas party is at that place
where they have at the loft or whatever and they
have the dog thing, you know, the guys that come
into the dog thing ift a loft.
Speaker 3 (29:01):
I believe if I'm paying attention, can I bring my
dog a loft which is a hotel right now? Ago?
So I could stay there?
Speaker 5 (29:12):
Yeah, and I can bring my dog to the Christmas party.
I don't have to worry about her. Awesome.
Speaker 4 (29:15):
Huh.
Speaker 3 (29:16):
It's Monday when twelve eight, twelve eight, and it is
a loft.
Speaker 4 (29:22):
See I pay attention. She sent this out like a
long time ago for it, yeah yeah, yeah, so we would.
Speaker 3 (29:32):
Have got the reminder of it. Uh here so because
I so, yeah, this was sent down a while ago.
Speaker 4 (29:38):
I could get a room there you go, But Mary
Ellen can't go.
Speaker 2 (29:43):
Why because we got two dogs, but a loft they
like dogs.
Speaker 3 (29:48):
Oh okay, I get super fancy.
Speaker 5 (29:50):
We're getting rid of your excues. Give me another one.
Speaker 4 (29:54):
You are getting rid of all my excuses.
Speaker 2 (29:55):
Okay, all right, All right, Well I better start thinking
about this because, uh, the that's the reason I'm talking
about this now. There's a lot of stuff coming up,
you know, and we're not thinking about that much. Oh
and I got to take the well today, I got
to take that Corvette back twenty twenty six Corvette.
Speaker 3 (30:11):
How much have you drive it?
Speaker 2 (30:11):
From Carl Black, Chevrolet, Buck and GMC. I've driven it
a lot.
Speaker 4 (30:15):
I was noticing this morning, like now I feel comfortable
in it, like at first.
Speaker 3 (30:19):
Oh yeah, you gotta get your bearing straight now.
Speaker 2 (30:21):
Well I know, I know how much it costs, right,
and my buddy Omar just allowed me to borrow it.
Speaker 3 (30:26):
So I'm super scared. And I'll tell you something I did.
Don't tell anybody.
Speaker 2 (30:31):
But when I'm out on I for I don't like
being around other cars because I'm afraid some other car
is going to hit that Corvette and I'm responsible. So
so I will take the uh Expressway, you know, or
what's the express express lane or whatever. But I keep forgetting.
I do it out of habit to stay away from
other cars. I keep forgetting I don't have my little
tag thing with me. So Omar is going to get
(30:53):
the bill for me go and tell me express thing.
Speaker 3 (30:56):
Yeah that I'm gonna tell them today.
Speaker 2 (30:59):
I'm man, I did something, but it's because I was
concerned about I don't like being around because just this morning,
and this is at four o'clock in the morning, some
big old truck and I'm going seventy five miles per hour.
Speaker 3 (31:11):
It's pretty fast, it's pretty good.
Speaker 4 (31:12):
And I'm in the middle lane, I'm not in the
left lane, and some guy comes right up on my
ass at seventy five miles per hour and I'm like, dude.
Speaker 3 (31:19):
And eighteen with her or a a.
Speaker 2 (31:22):
Big old redneck truck, and I'm like, it makes me
nervous when people get so clock. I like to be
as as much by myself on the innerstate as possible.
Speaker 4 (31:30):
Got because I don't trust other people, you know. Anyway,
I got to take the Corvette.
Speaker 3 (31:34):
How much fun was it driving around? Though? It is
pretty amazing.
Speaker 2 (31:37):
Yeah, it really is the reason people get the cars
like that.
Speaker 3 (31:40):
It's because it makes you feel good. Yeah, I mean
that's that's not a yeah, it's a luxury. Yeah. And
that's this version of the Corvette pretty incredible. You got
to see it, right, Oh yeah? Yeah? Yeah. So when
I got there. They were still doing photos. Yeah, and
so he was out there with with the vehicle and everything.
Speaker 2 (31:59):
So how great did it look because you know it's white. Yeah,
and she had her beautiful dress worked out. He was
in black. I really popped it.
Speaker 4 (32:05):
It was in front of that incredible uh church, I
guess that's called a church.
Speaker 3 (32:11):
That was yeh yeah.
Speaker 4 (32:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (32:13):
We caught Russ on Friday rolling out of the studio
with the in the corvette. He put the top down,
had to freshly shaved beard, being looking cool, trying to
be cool guy man.
Speaker 5 (32:24):
And it's pretty cool though.
Speaker 3 (32:26):
Yeah, absolutely awesome. And they got a look how fast
we're going? Oh so don uh so.
Speaker 2 (32:34):
Anyway, thank you with one of our great clients, Carl
Black chevrolety against GMC, allowed me to borrow it and
I got to take it back today.
Speaker 4 (32:41):
And but you know, we get the Blazer back.
Speaker 3 (32:43):
I like the Blazer, you know, I'll that's gonna be
a remarkable change too.
Speaker 5 (32:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (32:48):
Look look at how and just said it like, no, no,
I do like get a cool car. It's time, man, No,
it's time to get one of these bad boys.
Speaker 4 (32:58):
I don't need a sports car. Why because I don't.
I don't have a sports car. Guy, I don't drive
fast like I did drive. You can't help but drive
this thing fast. You can get on it. It's quick.
Speaker 2 (33:08):
You've got the Corvette and I'm going down and I'm like,
how fast am I going? I'm like, oh my god,
I'm going eighty like I you know, it would just
kind of creep.
Speaker 3 (33:13):
Up on just between us triple digits.
Speaker 4 (33:17):
No, I didn't go past eighty. Boo, it gets a long, Guys,
I don't like.
Speaker 3 (33:24):
Dude, on the drive out there, This is what I
was trying to tell you. It would have been perfect
experience in that Corvette on the drive to where that
facility is.
Speaker 5 (33:31):
Dude.
Speaker 3 (33:31):
There is a stretch of highway just north of DeLand,
or stretch of road, and it's one of the most
and I think I've I've heard about it, but I've
never actually driven it until this time. And it has
one of the natural occurring Florida like like where the
trees the trees kind of grow over the highway a
canopy thing. Yeah, oh yeah, it's a guy exactly. And
it's a really beautiful stretch of road there in DeLand
(33:54):
with the canopy over and everything. And I was like,
oh my gosh. And again my car not to spaces
the Corvette whatever, but I do have the sunroof. And
it was beautiful weather out there, and.
Speaker 7 (34:04):
So you know, oh yeah, you're right by the it's
called the Tunnel of Trees.
Speaker 3 (34:08):
Yeah there, and they have the little signs of it
and everything. And motorcyclists love that stretch of highway as well.
There was a ton of motorcyclists. So driving up there,
you know, I had all the windows down, the sunroof,
hoping and everything, and I was like, this is awesome. Yeah,
you got an image you can show Rush he's looking
at it. But it was that's the first time I
had driven that stretch of road and it was absolutely beautiful.
(34:31):
And take the Corvette out there on the oh you're
going to go the opposite direction. I'd take the longest
way possible to return the corvette. Yeah. Oh that's it. Yeah,
that's beautiful. Look at that. That was like something from
Forrest Gump. There you go.
Speaker 2 (34:43):
Yeah, you know, I like driving that Corvette with the
top down too. Uh yeah, it's like a transformer. You
hit the button, it doesn't really quick. Do you have
any ladies hollow at you?
Speaker 3 (34:54):
Uh? Just my wife, that's the most important one. Yeah, sure, yes, No, I.
Speaker 4 (35:01):
Didn't have any lady to holler at her.
Speaker 5 (35:02):
What it's nice when somebody hollers at you. I'm sorry.
Speaker 7 (35:06):
I did the show over the weekend. And then, uh,
George Wall there's a lady sitting right up front. She's
a beautiful black woman. She had she had gold teeth,
she had some some nice hair, nice dress, and she's like,
I'm gonna make you my new baby daddy.
Speaker 5 (35:22):
And I was like, hell, yeah you are girl. It
just feels good. It feels good.
Speaker 7 (35:26):
I'm not gonna cheat on my wife with this lady
or anything, but like it just it nice.
Speaker 3 (35:30):
To be recognized. Explain this.
Speaker 2 (35:33):
So a corvette is low to the ground, right, So
when you pull up at the Hilton and everybody's looking
at staring at you, and you gotta roll your fat
hats out of the corvette, here's.
Speaker 3 (35:49):
The perfect thing you now if you get the corvette.
Now it's again more reason to get in shape, I guess.
Speaker 2 (35:56):
But I wasn't in shape for the last Saturday rolling
out of that. And I'm like, oh, but it was great.
And once again, thank you Omar Rodriguez and my friends
at Carl Black for allowing me to borrow that for
the weekend. My son absolutely loved it. It just it
was a great, great weekend. All Right, we come back.
Andrew's gonna bring your Monster Sports. Don't go anywhere. You're
listening to the mantras the morning
