Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is a special presentation of iHeartMedia Sports on Moose
Country one oh six point seven.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
And with that, it's time for high school football right
here on Moose Country one O six point SEVENFM, Moose
one O six dot com and iHeartRadio Noah Sports Here,
Dan Zones there, and we are thrilled to be alongside
here for round one of the WIAA High School football
playoffs here in Division seven between the number seven seed
(01:39):
Webster Tigers who come into this game at three and six,
and of course the number two seed Boyceville Bulldogs undefeated
at nine to zero. Welcoming in Dan Zones, the other
half of this broadcast team, Dan, great to be here
with you. Of course, we've seen Boyceville all season long
here on the Moose. They're a powerhouse. They can do
it a bunch of ways offense, running the ball and passing,
(02:02):
as well as his staunch defense. What are you looking
for here in this ballgame?
Speaker 3 (02:06):
I mean kind of a lot of the same that
we've seen in the beginning parts of the season. I
mean this team has been a powerhouse within and without
Carson rome Hill and the rest of this team. I
mean this is not only a team that has a
bunch of players that they can plug and play, but
they also have a lot of great depth that they
can put in the moment's notice and that's just coming
(02:27):
from great coaching from this Boys Bolt team. They've got
sets that work with everyone else. They've got sets that
work with Carson rome Hill, and especially that's gonna be
a name that we call a lot tonight, rome Hill,
because he has been somewhat of an absolute animal out
there on the football field, whether it's on offense, while
it's on defense, whether it's even on special teams. He's
going out there and he's getting touchdowns and he's making
(02:49):
something happen. And that's what you need. You need a playmaker,
and that is the playmaker for Boys Go there.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
He's been a lot of fun to watch and on
a team full of stars, Rome Hill certainly seems to
shine just a little brighter than the rest. Meanwhile, this
Webster team they come in sneaking into the playoffs, is
that seventh seed, just three and six on the season,
haven't won a game since September, but they run the
football exceptionally well.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
Yeah, and you don't accidentally make it to the playoffs,
especially when it's now going on a DPI scale, taking
the human completely out of the picture with that one.
But they have players like Ronald Hatch, who is absolutely
just targeted and has been one of the best runners
on this team this year, right behind their quarterback Jason
or Jacob Fernengo, I should say the junior who has
(03:33):
been kind of a more dual threat if anything, but
Ronald Hatch is gonna be who they go through. So
it's gonna be up to Boycefel's defense to close that down.
Speaker 2 (03:40):
Today we get to see the Webster Tigers first, as
they won the toss elected to receive. Boyceville will get
it in the second half and will be Boyceville kicking
off from left to right to Webster. Quick look at
your uniform matchup for the Boyceville Bulldogs purple helmets, black
jerseys and white numbers and purple pants for them and
meanwhile for Webster black jerseys, black helmets, white jerseys and
(04:03):
black pants. On the road that ball fielded at inside
the ten by Ronald Hatch, Hatch makes a move up
to about the fourteen before he is swallowed up by
that boys Field Special Teams unit. There'll be a long
field for Webster to start the game.
Speaker 3 (04:18):
Not really the start they wanted to come into this game.
Just not really able to get much going on that
kick return there. But now you got the offense coming
out there, and this has been a very run heavy
team behind Ronald Hatch and behind that offensive line. Twelve
and ninety two yards on the ground, also ten touchdowns
to go along with that. This is a hard team.
This is on paper, it's not the hardest of teams
(04:41):
to beat out there, considering their three and six. However,
you do have to watch out because they will play spoiler.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
It's first and ten from the fourteen yard line here
for Webster's hatch is their excuse me for an ango
is their quarterback looks like he is under center here,
no wide receivers on first and ten. It is a
direct snap to the ball carrier and looks like that
was roll uh Ronald Hatch and he gets a gain
(05:07):
of a couple now second.
Speaker 3 (05:08):
Down and they even get a couple out of that.
Was pretty great from Ronald Hatch, because I mean they
got beaten completely off the off the get go. Did
Webster and Boysville just completely clamp down and did not
allow any kind of rushing holes for Ronald Hatch, which
that's what you're gonna need to do if you're looking
to get this get out of this first round.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
Boys feel certainly looking for a fast start defensively. Game
of three on first down makes it second and seven,
same kind of formation here for Webster, it'll be a
direct snap once again. Looks like that time it was
Jack Smuda. I think, uh, minimal gain there. Looks like
another two yards makes it third and five here.
Speaker 3 (05:50):
Yeah, there's gonna be a bunch of different players that
we get. I believe they're gonna call down Jacob Fernando,
who's more of a dual threat quarterback. But there's two
ones there and from our angle on this we couldn't
really see it that well. But Jacob Fernando there getting
the carry. He's gonna have a couple more of those
coming up here, especially since he can really run the ball.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
So it is for Nango there on second down, makes
it third and five, ball right at the eighteen. This
time it has snapped once again to Hatch running to
the far sideline trying to get past the line of scrimmage.
Does but just barely. It'll be fourth and media and
we'll have to see Webster does as they announced, owen
Rod Dell on the tackle.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
Yeah, and that was a great job there. Defensive ends
on both sides really clamped down and didn't really allow
anything to bounce outside, especially on that left end. And
just an awesome job by the corner so also not
allow anything big from happening there. Looked like he may
have had a little bit of space, and it looks
like they're gonna line back up in the offense, but
now they're switching to a punt for Nation out there
does Webster fourth and two.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
The ball is spotted right at about the twenty one
yard line, but it looks like they're going to punt
back deep at about the forty five yard line for
Boyceville or a couple of guys. That punt is not
very deep, it bounces, takes a Webster bounce. Looked like
somebody from Boyceville might have touched it, and Webster thinks
they've recovered what it was. It was a blocked punt,
(07:16):
they're saying, but because they touched it, Webster recovers it
and they're up past the thirty to about the thirty
five yard line. So hey, just like that, Webster gets
a second chance at this opening drive in.
Speaker 3 (07:26):
Yeah, and I mean that is just exactly what they needed.
The inadvertent tap there by one of the defenders on
the Boyceville special teams unit just may have cost them
a whole set of downs there. As now Webster is
going to start with a great starting field position around
the forty five or close to the forty yard line.
Speaker 2 (07:43):
There it'll be first and ten from the thirty five.
They get another chance here at this opening drive. Do
the Tigers still mo score nine to twenty eight left
to go here in the first quarter? As this will
be a pass throwing near side incomplete intended for Kenneth
Schwinn on the near sideline. Schwendeman, of course, the six
(08:04):
foot junior running back, just could not bring that one
down on the pass from Jacob Fernango brings up second
and ten, and he's.
Speaker 3 (08:12):
Lucky to be getting that ball back because that was
nearly a pick there by Lexton Bennetts, who's had an
absolutely great job or has had a great monstrous season
on the defensive end, three interceptions for him in two
pass defenses, nearly another one for him on the season.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
Clock stop nine to one left to go in the
opening quarter, no score. Second and ten from the thirty
five here for Webster quarterback is in the shotgun. Looks
like it's a little reverse and uh up past the
line of scrimmage. Maybe a gain of two. Looks like
it was Swendeman. Once again, They're gonna call that a
(08:46):
gain of one or two and it'll be third and long.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
Yeah, And Schwendeman just didn't have anything going almost from
the get go. He had some momentum to really try
and break it around the sideline and maybe make a
little bit more, get a couple more yards, but just
stopped all his momentum in the backfield, and that let
all the Boysvil defenders come up and make a play.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
This Boysville front four, really the front seven not a
unit you want to mess with. So it'll be third
and eight from the thirty seven yard line this time,
once again a direct snap and met in the backfield
in a hurries the ball carrier looks like it was
Fernango and Zach helen Drunk got there well ahead. A
schedule makes it fourth and long.
Speaker 3 (09:26):
Yeah, I mean, that's just what Zach hellen Drunk has
done a lot of the season. Fourth sack fourth sacks
on the season for him. Add that to a fifth
one if you're kind of the playoffs too. But he's
been one of those guys that you cannot leave alone.
One on one. You got a kind of double him down,
But just a great job by the Boysvil defense to
hold up after a nearly nearly bad turnover there on
(09:47):
the special teams.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
Fourth and twelve. After the blocked punt, we'll see another
punt here from Webster. This time it's away, cleanly high
punt looks like it will land just shy of the forty.
He'll take another Webster bounce and it will come to
arrested about the thirty six yard line. A net is
where Carson rome Hild and the boys Field Bulldogs will
take over.
Speaker 3 (10:07):
Yeah, and this time all the boys bull defenders cleared
away from that ball. They were not inadvertently touching at
that time. So now boys will will actually get their
first drive of the game. And we've seen a lot
of running from them, but we've also seen a lot
of passing, especially from Carson rome Hild, who can absolutely
sling that football. But Zach Helen drunk. He is one
of those tough bruisers that you have in the backfield.
(10:29):
Not only did he get a sack on that last play,
but he can absolutely run through your guys and will
continue running through you until he puts some shoulder pads down.
Not an offense do you want to mess with?
Speaker 2 (10:39):
He'll be first and ten from the thirty six yard
line here for the Boyceville Bulldogs, as Carson rome Hild,
their star quarterback comes out under center, two backs in
the backfield, one wide receivers. It's a quick toss that
time it goes to Tucker Lindstrom. Lenstrom along the far sideline,
takes a hit at the sideline, gets up to about
the forty five before he's taken out of looks like
(11:01):
it's a game of about seven. I think they might
call that. Yeah, They're gonna call that seven and it'll
be second and three.
Speaker 3 (11:08):
Yeah. And that sophomore Tucker Linstrom is the second part
of that equation there is He's kind of the lightning
to the thunder of Zach Hellendrung and Tucker Lindstrom. He's
definitely one of the more fun backfield to watch out there.
But that's the thing when you have a guy in
Carson rome Hill throwing the ball and then those two
in your backfield. It can make things a lot easier
for your already dynamic offense.
Speaker 2 (11:29):
Second down and three here from the forty five yard line,
Boyce Pield puts rome Hild under center again and somebody
jumped early. Looks like that was on right, Dell getting
a little bit over anxious. It'll be a false start
and makes it a five yard penalty. And second and
eight now, and.
Speaker 3 (11:46):
It's better to get those nerves out in these early
playoffs too. So just some nerves coming, just carrying over
from the last couple of games to now the first
playoff game. But get them all out here, get them
all out early, and you can lift to fight another day.
It's still only second and seven.
Speaker 2 (12:03):
Second and seven, certainly not bad. Still on schedule, as
they say, Paul right at the forty no score, and
right at seven minutes left to play. Here in this
first quarter, rome Hild is back to pass, but flags
ahead of the snap. Looks like it will be against Webster.
They're signaling.
Speaker 3 (12:24):
Yeah, and now now they're just gonna kind of trade.
Oh no, now it's actually they're calling it on boysfail.
Initially it was a signal Webster, but now it got
signaled back towards boys ball as they talked it over
before the rest came back out there.
Speaker 2 (12:38):
Yeah, I was gonna say I had never seen a
false start on the defense before, because it was the
false start signal.
Speaker 3 (12:45):
They must have just like pointed to the wrong direction.
Speaker 2 (12:47):
I think must be. You know, sometimes when I have
to do my left and the right, I have to
make the l's with my fingers.
Speaker 3 (12:53):
Just a double check, Just a double check.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
Two false start penalties after a big game makes it
second and twelve. Rome hild back to pass throwing side,
got a man complete. That's Helen Drunk. Helen Drunks got
the first down and more across midfield, put across the
forty five into about the forty two of Webster Zach
Helen Drunk excuse me, Ollen right Dell with a big
(13:15):
catch and run that time for Boyceville, big bulldog first down.
Speaker 3 (13:20):
And he was also the guy that jumped off sides too,
so he could tell his really antsy to get into
that plane. He came up with a great catch and
then rumbled forward for a great break, breaking breakup tackles
to get that first down.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
He'll be first and ten from the Webster forty three.
Here for Boyceville is Rome Hild. We'll hand this one
off this time it does go to Helen Drunk. Helen
Drunks got a first down and more up past the
thirty to about the twenty six or Zach Helen Drunk
the senior running back here for these Bulldogs.
Speaker 3 (13:50):
Bulldog and I think he has kind of caught off
bar by just how much space he had out there.
I mean, you could have drove a freight train through it.
A great job by the offensive line setting up for him,
but then great job by Callen Drunk to just keep
those legs turning ahead and keep moving forward. He kind
of tripped up on himself a bit before running into
one of the guys, but he's not used to that.
He's not used to getting hit after five yards back to.
Speaker 2 (14:12):
Back first downs here for Boyceville, Phil it will be
first and ten. Here from the Webster twenty eight, Rome
Hilled under center, fakes the handoff, rolls out to his left,
got time throwing deep. Got a man complete that is
Jakobe Kirshner and Kirshner out of bounds inside the tent.
Looks like they might even call that one inside the
(14:34):
They're gonna call it right at the five. It'll be
first down Boyceville and goal to go.
Speaker 3 (14:39):
Kirshner eleven receptions, two hundred and eighty nine yards on
the season in five touchdowns. For that for that junior
wide out, he has been absolutely one of the better
sure handed players on this team. Hasn't gotten as many
looks in the last couple of weeks, but has absolutely
been showing that he is gonna be an absolute weapson.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
Tonight it will be first and goal from the five
from the far Hashmark Rome hilled under center again this
time the handoff to Helen drunk and looks like it
is a fumble and it is covered by Webster And
so that's really not the place on the field you
want to cough up the football.
Speaker 3 (15:17):
No it is not, and you just gave it back
to them. But luckily you give back to them with
a very short or a very long field to go.
But still you want to come away from that with
some kind of a touchdown or a field goal or something.
Now you have it at the now, the Tigers have
it at their own or at your own, their own
four line card life, their own.
Speaker 2 (15:37):
There we go.
Speaker 3 (15:38):
But now it's going to be about running the football
and trying to get it out of that end zone.
Speaker 2 (15:43):
Five point thirty left to go here in the opening quarter,
no scores. It'll be a handoff along the near side
making a move. Is the runner for Webster trying to
find him number on items like that was Ronald Hatch.
They're running back for Webster. That's a game of seven.
Makes it second and three.
Speaker 3 (16:02):
And you can see why he's such a tough runner
out there. He can make a man miss and also
just keep turning it upfield and still gain some extra
yardage after that after the initial hit. So great job
there by, Hatch. But if you're a boys fail, you
gotta really clamp down and close those gaps up. But
you can't let him run free.
Speaker 2 (16:18):
Second and three. Two guys in the backfield there for
Webster's will be I'll I guess they'll call that student
body right, And it looks like it got him close
to the line to gain they needed three. It looks
like they're spotting that right at about the line to
gain at the fourteen to fifteen. They're gonna say that's
good enough for a Webster first down.
Speaker 3 (16:40):
Yeah, and Webster's showing that they just because the three
and six doesn't mean they're gonna just turn over and
fall over and give you a free win. This is
maybe the first round of the playoffs, but it's still
playoff time in football Friday.
Speaker 2 (16:52):
This Webster team has not won a game since since September,
but you know what they say any given Friday. First
and two from their own fifteen here for the Tigers.
So it's a little reverse again, and this time stop
behind the line is Jacob Fernango as he is taken
down right back at about his own ten. It'll be
a loss of five. You're second and fifteen with four
(17:16):
to twelve left to go on the first quarter.
Speaker 3 (17:18):
And you just can't go backwards like that. If you're Webster,
You've already gotten your chance here to really find some
momentum and it's been carrying you forward here. You had
a great first drive coming out of that turnover. Now
you've got to be able to put some more yards
on the ground. But Boyce fel a great job not
letting their not letting their quarterback find some space outside.
Speaker 2 (17:38):
Second and fifteen from their own ten here for Webster.
This time it will be a sweep going the other
way and going backwards once again, as that Boyceville defense
was there behind the line once again, Johnson and Helen
Drunk on the stop makes it third and very.
Speaker 3 (17:58):
Long, and Helen Drunk absolutely blew that up. He was
in that backfield before they were even able to get
a block on him. Just no one on that Webster
offensive line. Where's ready really for a fast defensive line
to get there, and already Boysel's ready to go. Webster's
feels like they're trying to find anything to get some
extra yard at your now third and eighteen. On two plays.
Speaker 2 (18:20):
Third and eighteen, they were at their own fifteen now
backed up to their own seven is Webster and I
don't know what you've gotten the playbook to get you
eighteen yards, but whatever it is they need it now
is it is for Nango in the shotgun. But that
play blow is dead. It's a false start on the Webster.
(18:42):
And it'll be a half the distance to the goal penalty,
I believe. Actually no, they're going to walk off the
full five yards. It'll be third and twenty three.
Speaker 3 (18:50):
Wow. So after picking up a first down, so we'll
be third and.
Speaker 2 (18:58):
Twenty they will say half the distance third and twenty.
Here is the clock down to two fifty four and
counting left to go here in the opening quarter, still
no score between Boyceville and Webster.
Speaker 3 (19:10):
Might as well might as well have wiped off that
first first down, because now we're back to being third
and twenty at their own four at their.
Speaker 2 (19:17):
Own four yard line. That's where they recovered the fumble
to put them in this field position. Fernego in some trouble,
he's in his own end zone and he's taken down.
That is a safety for Boysville. Bunch of purple jerseys,
well I guess purple helmets and pants on that one
black jerseys, but either way, it is a safety for
(19:38):
Boysville and puts them up to a rather unorthodox to
nothing lead.
Speaker 3 (19:43):
Yeah, not really the way we expected this game to
start off here for Boysville, especially with them marching all
the way down to that five yard line. But now
they get the Now they get that ball back here
and have a chance to either go up by either
go up by two or go up by nine to
nothing here against this Webster team. And just a great
job coming back on that defense, especially after they gave
(20:04):
up that first first down from the four yard line.
Already pushed them, pushed them completely all the way back
in the opposite direction by almost ten yards.
Speaker 2 (20:12):
Well, they don't ask how, they ask how many. And
Boyceville just put up the first points of the game
on that safety, just pushing Webster's offense further and further
backwards until they got rewarded for it on the scoreboard.
Two nothing, Boyceville. You're with two thirty two left to
go on.
Speaker 3 (20:27):
The first Sometimes defense is a better offense, and it
really shone there in the yard line.
Speaker 2 (20:34):
So we get another chance to see this Boyceville offense
looks good as it'll be Rome Hild and Leslie back
to return what will be a punt from Webster's own twenty.
This is one of those rules in football that feels
like it was added on at the last second after
a safety instead of a kickoff. It is a punt.
Don't ask me why it's older than I.
Speaker 3 (20:55):
In We just followed the rules here.
Speaker 2 (21:01):
Talk about baseball being a sport mired in antiquity. Look
at football. It's uh. It will be a kickoff though
from their own twenty, and Rome Hilda and Leslie back
to receive it about their own thirty seven It's a
high kick, looks like it will go towards Leslie fields
that the forty five already up pass midfield, making a
(21:21):
move at the forty five, he's got some space. Oh
he is taken down right at the fortyah. But that
is still a very good return in a short field
for a Boysville offense that's been firing on all cylinders
all season.
Speaker 3 (21:35):
Longs Yes they have, and wow did that one almost
break away for another special teams touchdown? Both of those
ones coming from Carson Romhild, of course in those couple
of kickoff returns for touchdowns. But now you got to think, Okay,
how do we how do we make up from last time?
How do we get down the field, and how we
get a touchdown here after we just started off in
(21:57):
such a strong way on the offense.
Speaker 2 (21:59):
It'll first and ten from the forty one. Rome Hild
fakes two handoffs, now rolls left in some trouble throws
deep down the field. That one incomplete looked like a
little bit of a miscommunication with his wide receiver Bradley Mays,
who is down there trying to get there land and
Leslie was also in the area. I think he wanted
maze on the deep ball second and tent I.
Speaker 3 (22:21):
Think he did too, but also with the pressure coming
at him, he really had to set his feet and
find someone downfield or just find nobody. Good job by
him not trying to force the issue too much and
try and put an errant pass near those white jerseys
because they have made sure to say, hey, just because
we have a once since September doesn't mean we'll win.
Speaker 2 (22:40):
Right now, second and ten from the forty one yard line,
Rome Hild goes under center, two backs and two receivers
here for Boyceville back to pass. He's gonna evade the pocket,
rolls to his left. Now he's gonna go right. Rome
Hill throwing deep Gottam incomplete. It's on right down at
the ten to five and taking down at the.
Speaker 4 (23:02):
Ride Dell was wide open down the near sideline, and
it's a big boyce mil first down.
Speaker 3 (23:09):
And I can tell you what that was not the
original play. That was not the original play. That was
all product of Rome Hill being able to dodge around
the pocket and not get hit for a sack and
find him find own what right out wide open down
that sideline. Just a great throw and catch and now
sets you up right inside the five.
Speaker 2 (23:28):
We'll be first in goal from the two on after
a thirty nine yard completion there from Rome Hill to
Rye Dell, first and goal from the two. Rome Hild
is under center. They send Leslie in motion fake the handoff.
Romhild under pressure, throws open is Helen Drunk and Helen
Drunks got Roltz into the end zone for a Boyce
(23:49):
pil touchdown. Boycevil finds the end zone for the first
time in this ballgame. A minute thirty six left to
go here and right now it is eight nothing. You're
penning the pat.
Speaker 3 (24:02):
Yeah, And I mean that's a great way to come
back after turning it over on your own four or
on the four yard line there of Webster. But great
job to come back back into it found somehow fine
over right out wide open down close towards a five
yard line and then just let your big man Zach
Helen Jung just waltz it right in.
Speaker 2 (24:22):
Is it will be uh, It'll be Tomas Vitelli out
there for the extra point, trying to make this a
nine to nothing lead thanks to that snape safety. The
the snap is good, the hold is good, and the
kick is up and through. It's nine to nothing Boyceville
with a minute thirty six left to go. Here in
the opening corner, don't go anywhere. You're listening to your
(24:44):
home for high school football.
Speaker 1 (24:47):
This is Friday night lights on Moose Country one oh

Speaker 1 (25:22):
It's your home for high school football Moose Country one
oh six point seven.
Speaker 2 (25:27):
Welcome back, everybody. Noah Schwartz and Dan Zoon's alongside you.
Is Boysviel taking a nine to nothing lead over Webster
thanks to a safety and then just now a touchdown
here for the Bulldogs.
Speaker 3 (25:40):
Yeah, and that was the all product of just great
blocking from that Boysville offensive lying, allowing Rome Hill to
buy sometime with all that pressure coming with everyone covered downfield,
allowed him to be able to throw a great pass
to wide open Rydel who was able to march it
inside the five, down to the four, down to the
two and gave Zach hellenjong ad open run for a touchdown.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
Minute thirty six left to go, and it will be
Boycevil kicking off from left to right as Helen drum
uses his right leg. Looks like it's a little on
side kick and now there's a scrum for it. It
looks like Webster touched it first. Boycevil thinks they haven't,
and this signal indicates that they do. Boycevil recovers the
(26:23):
on side kick and he thought this all this offense
was humming before here. Let's see what they can do
on another drive right now.
Speaker 3 (26:32):
No, I'm not even sure if that was supposed to
be That was not That did not seem like they
were supposed to be planned because it looked like he
had dragged his foot on accident at Helen drunk and
just kind of kicked the ball up. It didn't even
look like what a normal on side kick would be.
There but Boyceville comes on top with it, and Webster
was just as surprise as Boyceville was to get it.
Speaker 2 (26:54):
Yeah, they'll take it. After a pile there, Boyceville comes
out with the football. Will be first and ten from
the web forty five. It'll be rome Hild in the shotgun.
Got Tim has to step up evading the rush, throws
deep down the field and that one incomplete between a
couple of bulldogs. Looks like it was either Mays or
Rye Dell the intended receiver inside the ten. Makes it
(27:18):
second and ten still from the forty.
Speaker 3 (27:19):
Five, and again great blocking around there, not letting that
pressure get to Carson Romhild. The tackles have been doing
a phenomenal job out there, not allowing any of those
edge rushers to really get around him make their That
has been one of the issues that Boyceful's had, are
those edge rushers that get around kind of make Carson
Roamhilt sweat and then suddenly has to throw an air
(27:41):
and pass. But great job there, but still an incompletion.
Speaker 2 (27:43):
It'll be second and ten from the forty five. Rome
Hild hands the ball off and really just a struggle
getting back to the line. There for Tucker Lenz Trema
Mcarrey and no gain makes it third and ten.
Speaker 3 (27:57):
And that was East and Jack all the way, the
big defensive lineman getting right down in there and doing
a great job at making a stop on that play.
And now third down and ten, not really allowing anything
on the running game.
Speaker 2 (28:09):
This Webster defense certainly been good all season. That's part
of the reason why they earn that seven seed. We're
inside of a minute left to go in the first quarter,
third and eleven. They're gonna call it here for Boyceville
and they're gonna put rome Hild in the shotgun. Looks
like a little bit of miscommunication with the play, trying
to figure out where everybody's lining up. Two backs in
(28:30):
the backfield beside Rome Hild in the shotgun, and two
wide receivers back to pass his Romhild looking deep downfield,
fires near sideline incomplete. Oh he wanted Mays, and Mays
takes a shot on that one, but he gets up.
It'll be fourth and eleven and it looks like it
will be a punk situation here for the Bulldogs.
Speaker 3 (28:51):
Yeah, and that's not something that we've said a lot
of this season, but Ronald Hatch doing an excellent job
of flying across the middle of the field to break
that up. But now you have a fourth down situation
inside of the Webster territory. So I mean, I always
got to watch out in the playoffs here, but I
wouldn't be surprised that they go for it because we've
seen them go for it on much longer before on
(29:13):
fourth down.
Speaker 2 (29:14):
And the way that the game is played today, you know,
you're seeing offenses at every level become more aggressive. And
it looks like Boyceville is going to keep the ball.
The offense out there with the ball right at the
Webster forty six, so they are in plus territory here
fourth and eleven. Rome Hill's got plenty of time in
the pocket directing traffic escapes. A man rolls to his right,
(29:35):
fires incomplete wanted maze. But some good pass defense. Looks
like on the pass breakup was Bryant McKinley, You senior
defensive back swatting that one away and it will be
a turnover on downs with twenty six seconds left to
play in the quarter.
Speaker 3 (29:52):
Yeah, and if you're Boysville, you're more or less trust
in your defense here, even though you give it up
at around the forty five yard line. It's still in
Webster territory. You're not giving up in your own territory
like the thirty five or the forty. So you got
to look at that, and especially with how Boycevill's defense
is played, I can definitely tell that the coaching staff
has decided, Hey, even if we do don't, even if
(30:13):
we don't get this pick up, we're still gonna have
our defense out there. It's still gonna be okay.
Speaker 2 (30:17):
We'll be first in ten from the forty six to
twenty six seconds left to play in the quarter, and
it will be a handoff along the near side to Hatch.
Hatch fights forward, gain of maybe a couple up to
the forty nine, He does not cross midfield, makes it
second down.
Speaker 3 (30:32):
Yeah, and Hatch has been quite literally the only offense
that has really gotten Webster going throughout this But that
also makes it a lot easier to key in on
him if you're Boyceville's defense, and that's kind of what
they've just been doing. Haven't allowed him to get really
much of anything going except for that big seven yard run.
Speaker 2 (30:47):
Yeah, we've played a quarter here, Voyceville making their presence
known here at home. It is a nine to nothing
lead for them over Webster. We'll be right back with
the second right after this. Here on Moose Country one
o six point seven, your home for high school football.
Speaker 1 (31:04):

Speaker 1 (31:39):
It's your home for high school football, Moose Country one
oh six point seven.
Speaker 2 (31:44):
Welcome back, everybody. We begin the second quarter Boyceville leading
Webster by a score of nine to nothing here in
the first round of the WIAA Division seven playoffs. No
Schwarts and dan zounds with you.
Speaker 3 (31:58):
Yeah, and we've seen it. Boys has been the main
dominator here tonight up nine nothing, But I mean Webster
they're still here fighting hand in hand with them saying that, hey,
we're not going away. We're gonna still be here.
Speaker 2 (32:11):
Webster moving left to right. It'll be second and eight,
and it looks like it is a handoff, really minimal
gain that time. As looks like they gave the ball
to McKinley that time there and McKinley looks like it's
gonna be a loss of a couple and that puts
them right back at the original line of scrimmage. Third
and ten here for Webster.
Speaker 3 (32:33):
Yeah, and they keep getting backed up and backed up,
and that's literally what gave Boyceville there the points that
they had to start off this game to nothing was
Webster could not find a way to get positive yardage.
And now going backwards again third and ten, you need
to get something up in the air.
Speaker 2 (32:49):
The third and ten ball at their own forty five
yard line. This time it will be a sweep toward
the near side, and it all looks like it's a
gain of about seven that time there. For Webster is
on the carry. It was hatch, but nowhere near the
line of the game though he is up across midfield.
It'll bring up fourth and five.
Speaker 3 (33:11):
And if you're Webster, I see them going for this
right now. They already have their offense back out there.
But if you're Webster, you need to get this first down.
You were just going very You were just able to
get a drive going beforehand that felt like they had
something going, but got backed up all the way for
a loss and got safety for it. This is your
chance to make up for and get your first points
of the of the postseason. Here, fourth and.
Speaker 2 (33:32):
Five from about the forty eight yard line. Here, okay,
so this time it will once again be a direct
snap to Hatch. Hatch running far side, he breaks three
first down and more by a fumble, he loses the ball,
it is recovered by Webster, and still it will be
a Tigers first down up past the thirty five to
about the thirty four.
Speaker 3 (33:54):
And this is why you can't turn your nose. It's
someone just because they're on a losing team. This guy
has over twelve hundred yards rushing on the season, ten touchdowns.
He is going to be a hard player to stop
out there, no matter who you have on that offensive line,
no matter who do you have handing that ball off
to him.
Speaker 2 (34:10):
They're gonna spot the ball right at the thirty six
yard line. So it will be first and ten here
for Webster coming in as the number seven seed, three
and six on the season, but a strong running team
and a competitive team, it'll be first and ten right
here from the thirty six of boys Phille for Webster.
Loaded backfield is it will be a direct snap. Hatch
(34:32):
gets it once again. He's running to his right and
looks like he maybe got back to the line that time.
Lindstrom on the tackle as they'll say that Hatch went
backwards two yards.
Speaker 3 (34:44):
Second and twelve, Yeah, he was definitely close there. But
that just seems to be their issue for a lot
of this night has been, you know, taking two steps
forward and taking three steps backward, and Webster just hasn't
been able to put it all together. They've gotten some good,
big runs, but then they also have had these very
short runs that push you backwards and backwards and backwards,
(35:04):
and that's just not going to be a good way
to continue playing football out there.
Speaker 2 (35:09):
Second and twelve, nine to forty one in counting left
to go in the first half, Boysville leading Webster nine
to nothing. Webster, there's two men in the backfield here.
They've got to get up past the thirty for a
new set of downs. It is a direct snap to
Fornaningo and Fournango runs right into the line and it
does not get a whole lot. It looks like it
(35:30):
will probably be a loss of one or two and
it will make it, according to the guys up here,
third and fourteen.
Speaker 3 (35:37):
Yeah, and this just keeps stacking them back more and
more than they want to not have to only go
through Ronald Hatch every single time, but sometimes you just
have to, and especially in this case, it's been the
only thing working for Webster out there. They keep trying
all these different runs with all these different players, but
Boysfil's have their number on it every single time.
Speaker 2 (35:56):
Boys Field, They've been a great defense all season long,
and if they know who's getting the ball, that just
makes it easier on them. So it'll be third and
fourteen from their own thirty nine yard line once again,
direct snap to Hatch. Hatch running to his left, trying
to outrun everybody, gets quite a few but does not
get close to the line again. Looks like it'll be
a gain of six or seven that time, as it
(36:20):
will brief fourth down, but it'll be fourth down and
about seven or eight there from fourth and seven from
about the thirty two.
Speaker 3 (36:30):
Yeah, and just kind of like last time, this one
a little bit closer towards that closer towards the end zone.
Now we knew that they were going to go for
it here and they're going to stay out there until
they either pick up that first down until someone wipes
them off the field.
Speaker 2 (36:44):
It will be fourth and seven ball right at the
thirty three, eight minutes left to go here. In this ball,
this first half is back to passes four and Angle
got a man complete. That's their first completion. As that
ball goes to Hunters, Sears the junior tie and Sears,
it's the Webster first down.
Speaker 3 (37:04):
And there was just no one out there. I mean,
they got a lot of pressure in the backfield and
it looked like they were gonna come up with a
sack there on the play, but just out of nowhere,
mister reliable out there to get a wide open first down.
And now Webster's continuously even though they keep getting backed
up and backed up, they still find a way to
get those first downs.
Speaker 2 (37:24):
That was Webster's first pass to the game, gets them
first and ten, knocking on the door of the red
zone right at the twenty two yard line. Seven and
a half minutes left to go in the second quarter.
Is Fornengo back to pass, went to his left. Now
he's going to have to throw. Well, it looked like
a little swing route to Sears, who cannot make the play.
It's incomplete and that'll bring up second and ten. Still
(37:46):
at the twenty two.
Speaker 3 (37:47):
Yeah, and that was a good move by right l
almost getting there and getting that sack, but just not
enough time to get them. Frontego for Fortengo. There we go.
Fernengo has been able to kind of move around to
find his way in his pocket. Even though there's been
a lot of pressure in his face. He's been able
to find a way to either get a couple of
yards or just get a first down.
Speaker 2 (38:10):
Second and ten ball right at the twenty two still
Boyceviil leading nine to nothing, but Webster is driving in
Boyceviel territory. It will be a little reverse and Hatch
ends up with it along the far sideline. Hatch, Oh,
it's gonna be close. He is forced out a bound
somewhere around that line to gain We're gonna have to
wait and see where the spot is as there's a
(38:31):
massive bodies and it looks like it will be a
first and goal inside the ten to about the nine at.
Speaker 3 (38:37):
The nine, and he just has that speed that once
he gets around everybody, he just can take the top
off of the defense. And that's just what we've been
seeing throughout. This drop is Ronald Hatch getting the ball
with fourth and seven plus and just being able to
somehow get a first down that time a second down
and long, but again he's got those long yardage runs.
Speaker 2 (38:57):
First and goal right from the nine, seven fourteen left
to go is once again they snap it. Oh, this
is Fornengo and he is dropped behind the line. Looks
like he's at about the ten. It'll be a loss
of a couple second in goal though.
Speaker 3 (39:13):
And Fernando kind of got the ball to him. It
looked like he bobbled it a little bit before he
was gonna go on and try and get a run in.
But again going backwards right as you had another good
play that set you up in first and goal territory.
Now it's second and eleven.
Speaker 2 (39:30):
Second and second and goal right from the eleven. As
Webster comes back to the line, Ferningo is in the
shotgun as looks like they will snap it directly to
Hatch again and Hatch fighting forward to about the nine,
maybe the eighth gain of well, I'd say a couple
that time, but still gonna make it a challenging third
(39:52):
and goal.
Speaker 3 (39:54):
And it feels like those sweeps to him, whether it
be an inside sweep or an outside sweep, those seem
to really break up the defense a bit, and kind
of it's something we saw in the Colfax and Spring
Valley game that Colfax did a lot was those sweet
passes are not sweet passes, but sweet runs that really
open up the defense and can just kind of make
it a one on one situation there with your running
(40:14):
back and some of the defenders.
Speaker 2 (40:16):
Five point fifty seven and counting left to go on
the second quarter, it'll be third and goal from the
nine for Webster. Bernango gonna roll to his left, throws
to the end zone, wide open touchdown Webster. It's Isaiah
Mangleson Mangleson, the senior wide receiver all alone in the
end zone, and that makes this game a lot closers.
(40:38):
Webster puts six points on the board.
Speaker 3 (40:41):
And that's gonna be his first receiving touchdown of the
season two only his third reception total. So like I,
like you had said, and like I had said, year
are going to see a bunch of different players that
haven't really gotten their name called, because that's gonna be
the only way they can get some points here against
Boyce Fell. And here we see it here with the
senior getting his third catch of the year.
Speaker 2 (41:00):
Looks like it will be the kicking unit out there
to try and make this just a two point game.
And now a timeout called by Webster with the commercial
break after the pat looming, we'll keep it here and
we'll talk about what has really been a close first
half those far Dan.
Speaker 3 (41:18):
Yeah, and definitely a little bit unexpected considering the record
difference between these two teams. But like we had said earlier,
any given Friday, you're gonna have a chance to get
out there and either get a win against the top
team or have the potential get upset by one of
those teams that you don't expect to see much from.
But Webster, Ronald Hatch has been absolutely electric out there
(41:41):
on both the defense and the offense. He had a
big pass breakup to first force a turnover on downs,
and then he also had a couple of big runs
to get those them into that goal to goal territory.
Get that touchdown for Mangelson, who definitely is thanking him
for setting him up for his first touchdown, probably of
the playoffs, but also of the season two.
Speaker 2 (42:04):
As now we get ready for that Pat. Hatches really
done the lion's share of the work here for Webster
and I. Here they're trying to get this within a
two point game. Here as they go for the pat,
looks like it'll be Hatched who will try and be
their kicker here on this Pat attempt. The snap is good,
(42:29):
the hold is down, the kick is blocked, and Boyceville
is gonna recover that no return, so it will remain
a three point game, nine to six Boyceville over Webster nine.
And we'll step aside here on your home for high
school football.
Speaker 1 (42:47):
This is Friday night lights on Moose Country one oh
six point seven.
Speaker 9 (42:52):

Speaker 1 (43:22):
It's your home for high school football Moose Country one
oh six point seven.
Speaker 2 (43:27):
Welcome back everybody I missed. Pat for Webster makes this
a nine to six game here with five forty nine
left to go in the second quarter. Noah Schwartz and
Dan Zon's here is Boysville takes on Webster in Round
one of the WYAA Division seven High School Football Playoffs.
Speaker 3 (43:44):
Yeah, and it's been a really close game, which is
not really what we expected coming into this. But so
far it's been the aggressor being boysful, but Webster showing
that hey we're still here. We're not gonna just crawl
around and let you just get the free win here
in the first game of the leg of the playoffs.
But boys will getting their challenge up a year early here.
So now you gotta come back from this encounter down
(44:08):
or up nine to six for Boysville.
Speaker 2 (44:11):
Nine to six, that is the score here is Webster
getting ready to kick things away and get us back.
Started a little bit of miscommunication on where to line up,
but they're all organized now. As the kick is high
and deep, looks like it will be fielded inside the twenty.
And that's rome Hill on the return, getting out of
the way, staying on his feet along the near sideline
(44:32):
up to the forty five and out of bounds, just
shy in midfield, Carson rome Hill doing it on all
three sides of the football, and it'll be good starting
field position here for the boys Field Bulldogs.
Speaker 3 (44:44):
And we don't often see him get to return a
lot of the ball out there, but rome Hill at
that time being able to bring it up and bring
it into the forty six yard line getting them start
in great field position here, probably some of the best
field position they've had most of this game. Other than that.
Speaker 2 (45:00):
Or on side kick Carson Romhild. He's taken at least
one of the house that we've been here for, and
you know he accounts for things on all three sides
of the balls. It'll be first and ten right from
the forty six yard line. Romhild will hand the ball
off as it looks like that is Leslie and Leslie
up across midfield. Excuse me, that's Tucker Winstrom and ma
(45:22):
L's confused here as Linstrom gets a gain of six,
makes it second and four and Boyce Field is gonna
hurry to the line with five twenty three left. Rome
hild Is under center, two wide receivers and two running backs.
It's a handoff to Zach Helen Drunk. Helen Drunk first
down and more full head of steam up past the
(45:44):
thirty to about the twenty six yard line. He put
those pads low and he just moved forward Dan first down.
Boys film, and.
Speaker 3 (45:52):
It is so fun to watch a big man running
out there like that. Helen Jung absolutely rumbling down the
side and at final his way out there. That's the
thing too, he keeps like he keeps dashing out there.
We always think of him as this bruiser, but he's
got some speed.
Speaker 2 (46:07):
First and ten from the Webster twenty eighth. This will
be a handoff in that one once again goes to Lindstrom.
Winstrom stays on his feet up past the twenty five.
Looks like he's near the twenty. It looks like they're
gonna stop him about the twenty two. And this Boysville
offense still working quickly.
Speaker 3 (46:28):
And this is when they're humin is when they're moving quick.
Speaker 2 (46:31):
It'll be second and three ball right at the twenty
two here for Boysville. Rome hilled under center, but he's
gonna drop tep pass, throws complete near side. That's Bradley Mays.
Mays is out of bounds inside the ten to about
the eighth. Another Boyceville first down.
Speaker 3 (46:46):
It's first a goal and he really should have been
brought down after that first five yards, but again just
the Webster defense being a little bit lazy out there,
gave him a push out of bounds. But he's still
tight roped it all the way to the eight yard line.
Speaker 2 (47:00):
First and goal. They're gonna spot him right at the nine.
Rome hilled under center again, two backs in the backfield,
goes to Helen Drunk. Helen Drunk fighting forward. He's up
past the five. I don't think he quite got the
goal line though. Body falls forward. Second and goal Boyceville.
Speaker 3 (47:17):
Yeah, and he's gonna be down close to that three
yard line there. Just absolutely making his making him making
his name be known out there, just pushing ahead and
rum went forward and he's got a chance here to
get a touchdown once again.
Speaker 2 (47:33):
It's a handoff. This time it goes to Lindstrom, but
Lindstrom is stopping his tracks at the line and make
that makes it third and goal. Is a big stop
that time, because it looks like it was Jacob foornango
on the stop.
Speaker 3 (47:46):
Quarterback doing it all on both sides for both teams.
Speaker 2 (47:49):
It will be third and goal here fo to twenty
six left to go on the second quarter.
Speaker 3 (47:56):
And now time out.
Speaker 2 (47:57):
Looks like there is a timeout call on the field.
I think.
Speaker 3 (48:06):
Maybe checking in on a player.
Speaker 2 (48:08):
Equipment could be. I'm not quite sure what the stoppages.
We've got a stoppage on the field. Both teams still
look like they're ready to line up as it looks
like we are just a bit of a clock malfunction. Yeah,
it's something to do with the clock on. It's above
our pay grade, I know that. But they're gonna call
(48:31):
it four minutes left to go on the clock and
we'll get ready to go here, third and goal from
the three here for Boysville a lead by three, it's
nine to six. As the clock starts to roll, Rome
Hill is under center. It'll be a pitch to Helen
Drunk and Helen Drunk into the end zone for a touchdown.
(48:52):
But there is a flying down, so we'll have to
check on the penalty marker, and so we.
Speaker 3 (49:00):
Look look like it could be a holding call here.
Speaker 2 (49:03):
Yeah, the guys up here in the press box seem
to think it's coming back and it will be a
personal foul on Boyceville. So that'll back them up a
bunch of yards. Here's still third and goal of them.
Speaker 3 (49:17):
Yeah, but that really backs you up because now it's
about a third and fifteen and you're trying to get
a touchdown here. But again, miss cues, mis cues. Just
the main issue here with Voyebawn has been throughout much
of the season.
Speaker 2 (49:31):
They're gonna spot the ball all the way back at
the nineteen yard line. Look, we've seen this Boysville offense
backed up a lot longer than nineteen yards before, and
we've seen them convert. So I'm sure there's not a
doubt in their minds, but maybe in the fans' minds.
As it is third and goal right from the nineteen
Rome Hilt is under center, one wide receiver on the
(49:51):
near sideline, and that's where Rome Hill's going to the
end zone.
Speaker 4 (49:55):
CD touchdown price will Jack Kroby Carr, I know they're
junior wide receiver high pointed that football and make put
another six points on the board here in Boycevil.
Speaker 3 (50:08):
Another big grab there for Jacobi Kirshner, a big time
touchdown when boycemil Is needed it most, because wow, they
it almost felt like they were stuck in mud for
a while there, but now finally taking the top off
in Kershner coming down with a big time touchdown.
Speaker 2 (50:24):
Yeah, they needed that one right now. It is fifteen
to six, three twenty six left to play in the
half as they get ready to go for the pat
looks like they're going for one. They've got their kicker
Vittelli out there, so boycefil trying to make this a
ten point ball game with this extra point. The snap's good,
the holds down, the kick is not good. A little
(50:46):
bit of a line drive and that one goes wide left,
but still a nine point lead for the boys Bil
Bulldogs over Webster. Three twenty six left to play here
in the first half on your home for high school football.
Speaker 1 (51:00):

Speaker 1 (51:35):
It's your home for high school football Moose Country one
oh six point seven.
Speaker 2 (51:40):
Welcome back everybody. Three twenty six left before halftime in
Boysville has taken a nine point lead over Webster here
in the first round of the WIAA Division seven playoffs.
No Schwartz and dan zoons alongside you.
Speaker 3 (51:54):
Yeah, and it's been an interesting game so far and
night now another miss extra point here, another kicking air
on the Boysful side, which is what one of the
more stronger portions of special teams that we thought that
boys Bail had. But obviously it's a little bit chillier tonight,
but still this is prime football, whether you got to
be ready to go no matter what. And it's gonna
get a lot colder here on Western Wisconsin.
Speaker 2 (52:16):
Is the kickoff from Helen Drunk will go from right
to left. Another one is that one bounces looks like
a kind of unintentional squib kick, taking about the twenty
and staying on his feet up past the thirty to
the thirty five is the returner there for Webster as
it is Seman number thirty one there for Webster on
the return. And you know now that that's the third
(52:39):
time we've seen some trouble kicking the football. Mason Crosby,
longtime kicker for the Packers, their leading scorer in franchise history,
used to say that kicking the ball in the cold
is kind of akin to kicking a block of ice.
Speaker 3 (52:54):
It can't be easy, no, it cannot, especially when it
gets down to those levels. Hopefully won't get down to
those levels tonight because it's definitely feeling a bit chilly
out there, but for sure can make it a lot
more difficult, especially if you're not used to that. And
it's been a relatively warm last couple of months, so
now you're trying to get yourself into the playing weather,
(53:16):
trying to acclimate yourself before it even gets tied, before
it gets timed for the second round, third round, when
it really really hits the fan.
Speaker 2 (53:22):
You know, I used to see Mason Crosby and the
McDonald's on West Mason Street in Green Bay. I was
growing up. This is a true story.
Speaker 3 (53:29):
Must have been some fun conversations there between you.
Speaker 2 (53:32):
I was never brave enough to talk to him. It's
first to tend from the thirty six. Webster sends them
in in motion. They've got two men in the backfield.
Here is three twenty one left to go as it'll
be a little swing pass as they try and get
that out to Hatch, and Hatch brings it down, but
he's met well behind the line. It looks like four
boys filled bulldogs. That'll be a loss of I think
(53:54):
they're gonna call that six makes it second and sixteen
here for Webster. Holy cow, and.
Speaker 3 (54:03):
They were quite literally ready for that play. I mean
they were almost half that entire boys feld line was
ready to jump on that play. But great job there
to not over pursue and allow him to break free
of those because Hatch has been doing that a couple
of times to these bulldogs kind of slowing him down
now and not allowing him to get any kind of space.
Speaker 2 (54:22):
It's second and sixteen. Webster backed up at their own
thirty yard line two and a half minutes left to
go here in this first half? Is that run goes
to Hatch again? Hatch games, Oh, that's got to be
more than ten yards, but it's not close to the
line to gain. And he'll get that one to about
the forty two maybe the forty three yard line. It
(54:44):
still looks like it's going to be third and four here,
two fifteen left to go.
Speaker 3 (54:49):
Yeah, and he's been their main drive on getting any
kind of yards out there, and so far he's been
really finding his way around the outside, around the outside
of the defensive ends.
Speaker 2 (55:02):
Third and four from the forty two yard line, they
give it the Hatch again. Hatch running near side, He's
gonna run into the pile. Oh, it's gonna be close.
Where are they gonna spot him? Oh? I think, Oh,
it's this is gonna be index Card territory. Judging by
the spot on the field, it's very close. It's either
(55:23):
gonna be fourth and inches or a first down, and
it looks like they will signal first down. So Hatch
gets the Webster first down and continues this drive for
the seven seed Tigers.
Speaker 3 (55:36):
And he just keeps the ball moving there for Webster again.
Just a great job there by the Tigers blocking, They've
been able to find a way to get some kind
of gaps in this boysful defense, and Hatch just has
that speed and wherewithal to be able to hit the
ground running and take the top off the defense when
there's even an inch of space to be given.
Speaker 2 (55:56):
It'll be first and ten from the forty six yard
line here for Webster. Two guys in their backfield again,
same formation they've gone with all day, as it'll be
a direct snap of Hatch once again, Hatch running along
the far side first down as he is across midfield,
across the forty and taken down out of bounds on
the far sideline toward the thirty five yard line. It's
(56:20):
another Webster first down.
Speaker 3 (56:22):
And it's been that run game, but literally with Ronald Hatch.
They have been trying to find other different players to
plug and play with that, but they have not seen
nearly the same success. In fact, they've gone backwards more
times than not when they've given it to anyone that
isn't Ronald Hatch. So right now he is their biggest
(56:42):
biggest challenge out there on the field.
Speaker 2 (56:45):
First and ten ball the Boys thirty five. Excuse me,
as there's a minute and twelve seconds left to go
before halftime, Webster trying to make this a little bit closer.
They trail by nine here in the first hat it
will be a pass. Looks like that is Fernango rolling
to his right throwing that one incomplete. Just had to
(57:07):
get rid of it and in there on the pass
rush was owen Ry Delk got close to having a sack,
but that one it will be an incompletion clock stop
with a minute and six left to go.
Speaker 3 (57:19):
Yeah, he's been finding a way into that backfield a
couple of different times now owen Ry Bell has and
now just unable to really get his way into the
backfield because Fernando has been able to find a way
to throw a ball away every single time. He's just
been so shifty in that backfield. But now it's going
to be about closing that down and not allowing any
run runs in between the gaps.
Speaker 2 (57:41):
Second and ten ball still at the Boysville thirty five
here for Webster. Sixty six seconds separate us from halftime.
As it looks like hatches in the backfield, Fernango is
back to pass, but instead flags flying it looks like
it will be a false start against Webster. So that
(58:01):
turned second and ten into second and fifteen backed up
to the Boyceville forty one.
Speaker 3 (58:08):
And that's not what you want to have happen, especially
after you've had such a great start to this drive.
You've been really moving on the Boysevil defense, which not
a lot of people can say. Well, still fifteen to
six right now, but you need to keep getting those
yards forward, not going backwards, which they've had been doing.
Speaker 2 (58:25):
Before second and fifteen. They're gonna spot it right at
the forty here for Webster, they're still in plus territory,
but hoping this drive does not stall off sixty four
seconds before halftime. For Nango, rolling to his right looking
downfield in some trouble, gets away from a man now
(58:45):
reversus field to his left, kind of like fran Tarkenton.
He's gonna try and run, but he is taking down
on his own forty five. That is a sack there,
and Dawson for a sack. It'll be third down. Looks
like we got a time out on the field.
Speaker 3 (59:02):
Yeah, man oo Dawson just a great job wrapping around there,
not allowing him because he's seen multiple times where Fantanga
has been able to find a way out has been
able to get a wide open player downfield, this time,
does not allow him to run, gets him in the backfield,
and now it's a third and nineteen play. Not a
lot of ways you can go with this one, but
(59:23):
we've seen Ronald Hatch pick up some crazier fourth down,
so anything can really happen out there. If you're Webster, I.
Speaker 2 (59:30):
Mean, if I'm there, if I'm Webster's play caller, I'm
calling four verts. But there's a reason that I'm up
here and not down there.
Speaker 3 (59:38):
I don't know if the Madden's gonna work on this one,
any of the Madden players will work on it, but hey,
I mean I've seen crazier out there, and especially with
Ronald Hats running the way he is, I mean, I
might want to just do a one verd and throw
it just downfield to him into the end zone. But now,
if you're Boys Belt, it's gonna be a lot about
countering those runs, especially the sweeps. Inside sweeps have really
(01:00:01):
been killing them because he just as soon as Robert
or Ronald Hats gets that ball, he just is immediately
cutting up to the middle. By then all the blockers
are already engaged so your defensive lineman doesn't have a
lot they can do, and suddenly you're only taking on
linebackers and defensive backs, and that's at least three to
four yards a carry at the very least.
Speaker 2 (01:00:23):
As we get back ready to go here, fifty one
seconds separate us between now and halftime and third and nineteen.
As you said, this is going to be a tough
one here for Webster.
Speaker 3 (01:00:37):
And backwards. After you were just going forward. They're more
of a running team, and we've seen a lot of
Ronald Hatch runs. You can't really pick up twenty yards
in just a couple of plays unless you're really ready
to go.
Speaker 2 (01:00:48):
Third nineteen. They give it to Hatch. Matt in the backfield,
makes three guys, miss, stays on his feet and still
does not get back to the lines. A line of scrimmage.
He was taking him down loss and it'll be a
loss of one somehow. After three miss tackles, Boyce Field
takes another time out, stopping the clock with forty seconds
(01:01:09):
left in the half. Is they want this football back?
Speaker 3 (01:01:11):
I thought I just spoke that into exist. It looked
like he was about to break one away after getting
nearly tackle in the backfield twice now, but still was
able to come down and take him down right before
the line of scrimmage and avoid a massive fourth and
third down and twenty pickup. But now fourth and twenty one,
you're gonna get the ball back forty seconds ago about
one time or no timeouts left. If your voice fail,
(01:01:34):
you still have time. You still have time to be
able to march your way down the field and either
come away with a field goal or even a touchdown.
But that's obviously if Webster decides to punt the ball.
Speaker 2 (01:01:44):
But well, fourth and twenty one, I don't know if
you've got a whole lot of other options. I guess
they figure with forty seconds left on the clock, maybe
it's worth going for it. Maybe there won't be any
consequences if you miss.
Speaker 3 (01:01:56):
But that's the issue too, is then you give it
up with a very short feel to one of the
better offenses in the state. So it's gonna be interesting
to see what they come out here with. I expect
a punt, though it.
Speaker 2 (01:02:07):
Looks like it will be their punt unit, as it'll
be Hunter Sears back to boot this one deep just
one man back to return, that is Rome hild standing
at about his own fifteen yard line here for Boysville,
Sears gets it away, it looks like Carson Romhild is
(01:02:28):
going to let that one go. Bounces inside the ten
down at about the six by Hatcher, and it'll be
thirty one seconds left to go, and we'll have to
see here what Boyce feel's willing to do with thirty
one seconds before halftime.
Speaker 3 (01:02:44):
And yeah, they have time to be able to make
it down the field. Of course, it's going to take
some massive throws to be able to make it. And
it's gonna be whether or not you actually feel you're
aggressive enough to really go for it here at the
end of this half, but especially being inside the ten
yard or the ten yard line as boys or as
Webster takes their one of their final timeouts. Here, we
(01:03:06):
got one war on there. It's gonna be interesting to
see what boys Will has to decide with this. I
think they should just honestly run it out. But that's
the thing. I'm not a coach, am I.
Speaker 2 (01:03:16):
Yeah, no, I mean running it out. I think that
might be the wise decision. I mean, you've already got
a nine point lead. If your boys fill and they're
spotting that ball right at about the six, so it'd
be a ninety four yard field ahead of you and
just one time out. But on the other side, you know,
if you want to risk it for the biscuit, I
think you probably got the best quarterback in all divisions
(01:03:37):
seven and Carson rome Hill. Do you know he's got
the army. You know he's got the deep ball. We've
seen him work on that all season, and yeah, I
wouldn't be surprised if they, you know, put rome Hild
in the shotgun and just say let it fly.
Speaker 3 (01:03:51):
And that's the thing. Other than an interception or some
other turnover. You could take a sack and say, okay,
we'll just run out the rest of the clock here,
or you could get a big twenty yard pickup and say, okay,
I think we can actually make this year.
Speaker 2 (01:04:03):
Thirty one seconds left to go before halftime. I to me,
this looks like a formation where they're gonna throw it
four wide receivers. Rome Hill back to pass after a
high snap. He's in his own end zone looking deep.
I think he's just gonna run it, and he does.
He's got the first down and more all the way
up past the thirty five and he's out of bounds.
Speaker 3 (01:04:22):
With twenty one seconds left, only ten seconds taking off
the clock and now your step shot at your thirty
five at their own thirty five yard line. Great job
there by rome Hill. Then now you have some options.
Speaker 2 (01:04:36):
That's about a thirty yard run from your quarterback, unplanned
and rome Hill just showing off the speed here twenty
one seconds left to go, and you know, honestly, I
feel like they were probably the plan was probably to
throw it on that last one, depending on the pressure,
I'd be shot if rome Hill doesn't let it fly
here at twenty one seconds left, first and ten from
(01:04:58):
their own thirty five year line, trying to extend this
nine point lead, Rome Hills back to pass, looking deep.
Canna escape to his left, looks like he's gonna run
it again. As he tucks it, he's up cross midfield
and out of bounds at the webster forty five, maintaining
that one time out left. Still twelve seconds left for
Boyce Phil and it's another Bulldogs first.
Speaker 3 (01:05:20):
Down, and he's just taking what the defense is giving
to him here, which is they're only they're dropping just
three at our They only have three down linemen coming
up and attacking that ball. So it's giving plenty of
lockers and plenty of empty space for rome Hill to
just be able to take off with them. Just smart job,
just being able to go up every ten yards and
(01:05:41):
just go out of bounds.
Speaker 2 (01:05:42):
Yeah, I mean, you know, using that boundary smartly, getting
out of bounds before they hitch it and stopping that clock.
It's been going a long way here for Boysfield. They're
being aggressive and they're hoping it's gonna pay off on
the scoreboard here. Twelve seconds left before halftime and it'll
be rome Hilled in the shotgun first and ten from
the webster forty five for Boys Phil. Rome Hild roll
(01:06:03):
into his right, got a man complete and out of
bounds at about the thirty one yard line at his
Land and Leslie and it's another Boys Phil first down
now just five seconds left in the half though Dan.
Speaker 3 (01:06:16):
Only five seconds left. That's a bit of a big
distance still for your kicker. You could still try and
throw something deep down the field and hope for a
touchdown there, especially with the big arm in rome Hill.
But I don't see a lot of options here if
it's not going towards the end zone.
Speaker 2 (01:06:32):
Well, they've got thirty yards to get it there. We
know Rome Hild certainly got the arm from this range,
and now with five seconds left, it probably won't do
him do much good to keep it in their pocket.
They're gonna call this last time out to be able
to talk it over and figure out what they're going
to do here on this crucial play with five seconds
before halftime.
Speaker 3 (01:06:53):
Yeah, because if you can get a touchdown here on
this drive, or even really a field goal, I don't
think they'll go for a field goal here, especially with
how long of a distance. I'd be about forty one
ish yards.
Speaker 2 (01:07:03):
I'm not sure Vittelli's range, but I don't know of
any high school kicker who's really good from forty one,
at least in the forty one prus any Yeah, literally,
maybe some of those powerhouses down in Texas has got
somebody who can kick fifty yards, but.
Speaker 3 (01:07:16):
Not here, not here in this day, at least not yet.
But as of right now, where it stands, I could see.
I think they're going to go for something deep towards
the end zone, whether towards their I don't think it's
gonna be a hail Mary, but I think I could
see maybe a four vertz call here.
Speaker 2 (01:07:30):
I could see that five seconds left to go really
no margin foreerr, but still a nine point lead, So
it really is not a life or death got a
score here thing. But man, what a complexion change it
would be going in with a two score lead versus
a three score lead into the half. And you know,
especially just for the momentum of this game, you know,
(01:07:53):
the attitude being able to go into your locker room
with their head held high. This is something that Boyceville
would like to do it here. Fifteen to six is
our score, five seconds left to go in the second quarter,
and it's an empty set. Three wide receivers on the
near sideline, two on the far side. Rome Hill back
to pass looking deep. Rush is coming, he evaids. The
(01:08:15):
rush steps up, throws to the end zone. Incomplete through
the back of it. There's a lot of a lot
of chance there. It looked like it was intended for
Rye delln But it is incomplete. And that and the
half your score boys, Phil fifteen and Webster's six. Dan
(01:08:35):
any final thoughts before we send it to the half.
Speaker 3 (01:08:38):
Yeah, I mean there's been chances on both sides to
really keep this closed, but Webster has been really the
ones keeping it boycelet a couple of missed opportunities, really
had a chance to really get a score in here
and almost at him there, almost at it. Especially at
the end, it looked like it may have been right Dell.
I think it was in the middle.
Speaker 2 (01:08:57):
They said on the PA, but yeah, it was. It
was mighty close. But you know, it didn't look like
rome Hill really had an option there. You just had
to let it fly. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:09:05):
There was only so much time left and you only
had so many steps to go, and especially with the
pressure incoming on you, you gotta just kind of throw it.
And that's what rome Hill did and was the best
option to do.
Speaker 2 (01:09:14):
Still, a great drive to go from inside your own
ten all the way to the opposing thirty uh inside
of thirty seconds left to go in the half. A
lot of fun to watch this boys field team, and
that's a big reason they're up fifteen to six. We'll
be back in two minutes with hopefully some out of
town scores. Doesn't look like it, Dan shaking his head,
(01:09:35):
but we'll have more on this game at least, And
it's been a fun one. Right after this, you're on
your home for high school football.
Speaker 1 (01:09:43):
This is Friday Night Lights on Moose Country one oh
six points sure home for high school football Moose Country
one O six point seven.
Speaker 2 (01:09:53):
Welcome into the halftime show right here on Moose Country
one O six point seven, AFM, Moose one O and iHeartRadio.
My name is Noah Schwartz alongside Dan Zones, and we're
happy to be bringing you the first round of the
WIA Division seven High school football playoffs in this game
between the number seven Webster Tigers and the number two
(01:10:15):
undefeated Boyceville Bulldogs. Right now, Boyceville leading Webster fifteen to
six at the half, and Dan, it's been an entertaining
first half, closer than we might have expected given these
two teams records coming in. What do you make of it?
Speaker 3 (01:10:32):
Well, really, it's a team really kind of overperforming versus
a team kind of feeling a little bit of the
nerves of the playoffs so far and right now, Boyceville
is just kind of trying to get themselves back in
and they especially these last couple of drives looked a
lot better than their first few. But Webster man not
all you can say, but they've been able to find
a way with their limited numbers over on their sideline,
(01:10:54):
But Boyce Ball came back in really looked like they
were gonna get a touchdown close stards the end there.
Maybe a little bit more time they probably could have
gotten a touchdown, but we don't we don't work in
assumptions and guesses. So as of right now, just being
a fifteen to six lead, that's probably the best case
(01:11:14):
scenario for Webster right now. We got into this thinking, oh,
it's gonna this might be over by halftime, but Webster
has since proved us wrong. Those Tigers have came out
and have came out scratching, and man have they really
clawed their way back in after what looked like a
pretty brutal nd nothing start here for your boys, Phil Bulldogs,
but Boysville definitely trying to get themselves back into it.
Speaker 2 (01:11:37):
Yeah, certainly. I mean I think that you know, we
joked coming into this game because we've seen Boysville all
season long, and every one of their games it felt like,
at least the ones that we covered, they were all blowouts,
you know, running clock in the third quarter easily, and
we were joking, especially with Webster's three and six record,
you know, whenever we're gonna get to that running clock
(01:11:57):
but Webster, you know, they've they've put on a great
performance here and it is a two score game at
the half, but it's only nine points separating these two
teams fifteen to six. It's it's been a weird game.
A couple of turnovers, a safety, of course, notwithstanding, but
certainly one that's at the very least keeping our attention.
(01:12:19):
And you know this, despite Boyceville's obvious prowess, this is
really still anybody's game, It really is.
Speaker 3 (01:12:27):
And that's the thing here is Webster's been able to
even with every miscue that boys have, Webster has tried
to capitalize every single time, and they've been close a
couple of different times.
Speaker 2 (01:12:36):
Now.
Speaker 3 (01:12:37):
They were really marching on their drive before giving up
to Boycevil for that final drive of the game or
of the half. But they were marching. They were marching
up until they started going backwards. And as soon as
you go backwards against this Voice Fail team, you just
almost sink backwards. Because that's literally what gave Voicebil their
first points of the game was Webster going from first
(01:13:01):
down and ten at around the thirty to get backed
up all the way to a goal line territory and
then getting safety to on that final one. But whichever
team that gets out of this game live after what
seems like a really tough one is going to have
to more than likely face either Turtle Lake or Pepen
Alma here on the standings, and that's neither really Turtle
(01:13:25):
Lake I'm expecting to really win, but Pep and Alma
can really push the buttons, and especially if you're not ready,
they could be that team that really that really drives
you home. So boys will needs to really position themselves
to both win against Webster here and then also think
about what they're going to be facing against Pepin.
Speaker 2 (01:13:45):
Absolutely certainly a lot to think about here. You mentioned
that Turtle Pepinola Turtle Lake game that is taking place
right now. You got any I know that the scores
aren't cooperating, but do you have any looks at other
games happening around the state right now.
Speaker 3 (01:14:03):
I haven't been able to actually pull up really anything
right now, but as of right now, we also have
Glenwick City Spring Valley going on too, and then on
the Furthest part of the bracket here in this region,
we'll have Conchrane Fountain City an assumption taken on and
that should be a good game there. Even though it's
a number eight versus number one, it's still in their division.
Then we also have Lord's Academy taking on Shocked and
(01:14:25):
then leave a strum in the lower of the category
taken on Blair Taylor. But so far, a bunch of
good games going on today. Obviously going to try and
get those scores going here, but until then, these teams,
it's been interesting to see a lot of Dun Saint
Croix teams. We both didn't expect to see as many
in them, but the new DPI scale favored them and said, hey,
(01:14:47):
these are the best teams to be going out there.
They had the hardest strength of schedule as well as
just more wins and on head to head matchups, and
it's definitely fun to see a lot of that Saint
Croix getting covered in these playoffs. So definitely gonna be
something that we keep the track of going forward, and
especially with some of these playoff games, Gonna be interesting
(01:15:10):
going forward. Gonna keep you keep you updated on that
as we get more of the scores throughout the night.
Speaker 2 (01:15:17):
We'll keep an eye on that for sure, But for
now we'll step aside here. We'll let halftime take its
course and we'll be back with you in seven minutes
right after these messages, right here on Moose Country one
oh six point seven FM and iHeartRadio, your home for
high school football.
Speaker 1 (01:15:33):
This is Friday Night Lights on Moose Country one oh
six point It's your home for high school football. Moose
Country one oh six point seven.
Speaker 2 (01:15:43):
Welcome back, everybody. It's time for the second half here
from Boysville as the two seed Bulldogs hold on to
a fifteen to six lead over the seven seed Webster Tigers.
No Schwartz and Dan Zoon's alongside. You're trying to stay
warm here after what was an exciting first hand.
Speaker 3 (01:16:00):
Yeah, it was a very exciting first half. Not much
that we expected, especially considering that we were thinking that
this could be a game that's over by halftime, but
certainly had had other plans.
Speaker 2 (01:16:11):
It is far from over, let me.
Speaker 3 (01:16:12):
Tell you, yeah, and especially with it being a fifteen
to six lead here about a minute forty to go
in this half, this halftime break before we get back
into it, and Webster has just been able to stack
the ground game so far and has really made it
hard for Boys fail to just get off of the
field from time to time but Voyce has been able
to do so by forcing turnovers and forcing turnovers on
(01:16:35):
downs too.
Speaker 2 (01:16:37):
Absolutely, it's been an exciting game. Of course, that safety
is opening up the score or giving Voicefull a two
nothing lead, and then they added a couple of touchdowns
after that. Meanwhile, for Webster, they were able to get
into the end zone back in that first half but
missed the pat so right now they trail by nine,
fifteen to six. It will be Boys Phil getting the
(01:16:58):
opening kickoff of the second half here and after they
led what was a great drive at the end of
the half, just could not come up with points here
as time expired.
Speaker 3 (01:17:09):
Yeah, and honestly, give them about an extra ten seconds
and maybe they could have put some points out there,
but obviously we won't know that. But considering how well
they looked, especially in that last drive in the drive
before too, it really felt like they shook off some
of that rust that they came into the they came
(01:17:29):
into the game with and kind of settled themselves down.
But still long road ahead, still two full quarters to go,
and boys was gonna be getting the ball to start
off the second half.
Speaker 2 (01:17:40):
As we get ready here the clock at halftime inside
of fifteen seconds. Not a whole lot else to talk
about other than the anticipation that these two teams, and
I'm sure these two fan bases must be feeling. Here
is halftime, wines down a couple out of town scores,
not in high school football, but if you're Milwaukee Bucks fan,
(01:18:01):
they beat the Raptors one hundred and twenty two to one.
Sixteen Giannis had thirty points, nearly had a triple double
for them. And from last time I heard the Dodgers
are up to nothing in Game one of the World Series.
Speaker 3 (01:18:13):
Definitely a couple of games, especially the Dodgers, gonna be
everyone's gonna be watching, especially with that World Series going on.
But good to see the Bucks come out with another win.
Speaker 2 (01:18:24):
Absolutely, you know, a good way to start the season
down in Milwaukee. And as we are ready to go, we've
got football here in Webster. Ready to kick it off.
Going from right to left across your radio dial, here's
the great Pete Canutson would say. The kick is in
the air from Sears. That'll be an on side kick
recovered by boycevil So an unsuccessful onside looks like it
(01:18:48):
is Zach Helen drug Big number twenty six coming up
with that football, and Boyceville will have a short field
here first and ten from right about their own forty five.
Speaker 3 (01:18:57):
And it almost looked like they were ready for it too.
I'm already ready to go, especially with Zach hellen Drung
just diving forward on it. They kind of set up
as if they were expecting that to happen. But now
Boyce Phil getting their chance to show off and gave
their chance to show what they could have done had
they had scorn on that last drive.
Speaker 2 (01:19:15):
First and ten twelve minutes left to go on the
third quarter, rome Hill is under center. He's gonna hand
that ball off to Helen Drung. I know it looks
like a little reversed. That's land and Leslie on the carry,
and Leslie with a big first down and more up
past the thirty five to about the thirty two. That'll
be another Boys Phil first down.
Speaker 3 (01:19:35):
And a little bit of a triple thread action there.
Carson rome Hill faked like he was having the ball.
Zach Hellendrung also got a fake coming his way, and
then Landon Leslie went untouched up the middle and got
a big first down for Boyce Pl. What a job
by him in the offensive line.
Speaker 2 (01:19:52):
Good first down there for Boyceville, and now they will
come back to the line, Rome Hill under center on
first and ten. This time it will be a handoff
to Helen Dron Helen Drunk running forward up past the
twenty five and nearly to the twenty. Looks like he
stopped it about the twenty one yard line, and they're
gonna call that one another Boycevil first down.
Speaker 3 (01:20:12):
Already out firing as boyce Will's offense to start off
this game. And Zack Hellendrunk just big man moving. Get
out of the way because he's gonna bowl you down.
Speaker 2 (01:20:23):
First and ten, knocking on the door of the red
zone right at the twenty one yard line. Boyceville trying
to extend their nine point lead. Is they send Leslie
in motion here head a first and ten. They handed
to him Leslie with a full head of steam, flagged down,
but Leslie is taken down inside the ten. We're gonna
have to see what this call is, and.
Speaker 3 (01:20:46):
It looks like it's gonna be a holding on boycemil.
Speaker 2 (01:20:48):
So that one will go backwards as Boycevil wipes out
the big game by Leslie would have been enough for
a first down first and goal. If it had stood instead,
it will back them up quite a few yards.
Speaker 3 (01:21:01):
And again just another shot in the foot to just
back them up. And Boyceville has had chances now to
really take the top off of this defense. But again,
two steps forward, one step backward.
Speaker 2 (01:21:14):
I'm gonna spot this football at the twenty seven yard line.
It'll be first and sixteen sixteen here according to the scoreboard,
eleven minutes and eight seconds left to go here in
the third quarter, Boysville leading Webster fifteen to six. And
a little fumble there on the handoff, and it looks
(01:21:34):
like Webster recovered as Rome Hilled was trying to hand
that ball off and it looked like he forgot the ball.
Webster recovered.
Speaker 3 (01:21:42):
Wow, So another turnover here for this Boysville team and
it ends up into the hands of Webster. And that
has been the miscues of the night for Boysville. Has
just been almost self inflicted wounds every single time that's
really stopped them. Webster's defense hasn't really put up much
of a stop. It's just been penalties and turnovers.
Speaker 2 (01:22:01):
Oh, Webster doing what they're needing to do, you know,
They're making the stops they need to make. And when
the football's there, they're falling on it. That's the second
fumble they've recovered in this game. They'll have it first
and ten at their own thirty as it looks like
it will be Hatch here on first and ten running
to the near side, and not a whole lot of
yards on that. Maybe a couple as Zach Hellen drugg
(01:22:23):
on the stop second down.
Speaker 3 (01:22:25):
Yeah, and it looked like they've completely blown up into
the backfield, but Hatch was able to kind of weave
around and still able to pick up a couple of
yards there. A great job by him, but that blocking
needs to get there for him, otherwise they're just gonna
be giving up tackles to that Boysel defense.
Speaker 2 (01:22:40):
Gain of three makes it second and seven, ten minutes
and thirty seconds and counting left to go in the
third quarter. Here, as Webster comes to the line second
and seven from the thirty three, Hatch in the backfield
alongside for an ango. He're on second and ten. They
will snap it right to Hatch again. Hatch running to
the far side, breaks a tackle but is unable to
(01:23:03):
get back to the line of scrimmage. Looks like he
will lose a couple and that'll bring up third and law.
Speaker 3 (01:23:09):
Man, this time Hatch goes backwards. He's been really the
driving force of the offense for much of the night
for Webster, but just this time got caught. Couldn't really
get forward anymore than he get dead and lost some
yardage there. And now Boyce will set up with a
third and long situation. You got to come up with
a stop here.
Speaker 2 (01:23:27):
Oh well, you know what they say. Three yards forward,
two yards backwards. That's just the situation here for Webster.
Third and nine from their own thirty one, nine and
a half minutes left to go in the quarter. As
this one will be back to pass. Looks like that's
for Nango thrown over the middle of the field, nearly caught,
but it is incomplete broken up by guess who has
(01:23:52):
actually excuse me? That one was landing Leslie on the
coverage getting a hand in there and making it fourth
and nine.
Speaker 3 (01:23:59):
Yeah, and now where you are at the start at
the at this point of the field, at thirty yard line,
this has got to be a punt because this, especially
with how this offense has been running. They've had some
good plays here and there, but nothing's got nothing's like
a fourth and nine at your own side of the field.
Speaker 2 (01:24:17):
Yeah, if your webster, you really can't afford to give
this football back to Boysville. So it looks like it
will be the punt unit. It will be their punter
out there, Hunter Sears and two men for Boysville back
to return at about their own forty five. Here's the snap.
Sears steps into it to say high punt. That one
(01:24:38):
looks like in the land at about the fifteen as
that one is taken and land and Leslie's got green
grass ahead of them. Twenty fifteen ten five and taken
down and about the two landon Leslie with a big return.
Although there is a flag at about the thirty seven
yard line, this one could be coming back.
Speaker 3 (01:25:00):
Yeah, And I think they're gonna get them with a
blind side block there Boycevil. It is gonna get penalized here.
That's gonna go back them up. But still a great
return there for that Boyceville special teams unit.
Speaker 2 (01:25:14):
It will be a personal foul on boys Phil. It
will back them up to me. I gotta find the
excuse me blocking the back. I gotta find where they're
gonna spot this ball. I think they're still talking it over.
Speaker 3 (01:25:28):
Yeah, they're just kind of trying to decide where it
is right now, because they got that ball out there,
and it looks like they're gonna place it a bit
back close towards midfield, if not a little bit up
at about around midfield, right at the.
Speaker 2 (01:25:42):
Forty seven yard line here, still plus territory to start
this drive for boys Field, but of course it does
wipe off landon Leslie's great return there inside the five
to the two. Instead, it'll be first in ten from
the Webster forty seven here for Boysville. As they send
Bennetts in motion and has got the ball, Bennett's first
down and more along the far sideline, He's running up
(01:26:04):
to about the twenty five yard line before he's taken
out of bounds, and that is a Boycevil.
Speaker 3 (01:26:10):
First down, and that's Bennett's using that great speed of his.
He's been able to make things happen on both offense
and defense. Remember three interceptions for him on the season,
but also Bennett's has been able to move all over
six receptions one hundred yards on the on in the air,
i should say receiving, and he's been able to make
that happen and really did it there, got him down
(01:26:33):
to the about the twenty four yard line as boys
Fail sets up shop again first.
Speaker 2 (01:26:37):
And ten at the twenty four there is Rome hild
Is under center. This time it will be a handoff
I hope it's a little reverse there to Leslie. Leslie's
got green grass.
Speaker 4 (01:26:47):
Ten five touchdown Borceville ndon Leslie and the and zone.
Speaker 2 (01:26:53):
As boyce Fil extends their lead midway through the third.
Speaker 3 (01:26:59):
What there by landon Leslie to not only get that
ball and break through a tackle, but also to then
just wait up for his blocker and kind of just
dodge around him to get in for that end zone touchdown.
Great job there from the senior and now Boyceville up
twenty one to six.
Speaker 2 (01:27:18):
And it looks like Boysville is gonna go for two.
They're up twenty one to six. Now trying to make
this what would be a twenty three to six lead,
trying to do the math in my head. Never do
math live on air. Good advice. It's like, looks like
it's a handoff to Tucker Lindstrom, and Lyndstrom does get
into the end zone. The two pointer is good. Twenty
(01:27:40):
three to six. It's a big lead for Boysville and
we'll be back with more right after this. You're on
your home for high school football.
Speaker 1 (01:27:48):
This is Friday night lights on Moose Country one oh

It's your home for high school football Moose Country one
oh six point seven.
Speaker 2 (01:28:29):
Welcome back, Noah Schwartz and Dan Zones alongside you is
boyce Ple has got themselves a three score lead. It's
twenty three to six, eight forty three left to go
courtesy of Boyceville's Land and Leslie.
Speaker 3 (01:28:41):
Yeah, and he had an absolute monthster run to really
take the top off the defense and to really give
the score that we had kind of been expecting. Boysfil's
had a couple of chances now to really extend this
to a three score lead, but has fallen. It's short
a few different times, whether it's a turnover, whether it's
a misqueue with a team. Now Boysville up twenty three
(01:29:02):
is six, can really start and finish this thing off
and move on to this next round if they can
continue to keep that foot on the pedal.
Speaker 2 (01:29:11):
Let's see if they can here eight forty three left
to go on the third quarter, as it looks like
Webster will be ready to receive Helen Drung He's ready
to kick this one away for boys Phil. He sends
this one away. It's a low kick, bounces about the
thirty and taking it the twenty five. Looks like once
again that is Hatch and Hatch. We'll get up past
(01:29:33):
the thirty before he's taken down. It'll be first and
ten from their own thirty three.
Speaker 3 (01:29:41):
And this Webster team really reminds me of what Spring
Valley does at time, which they have a kid there
named Asher Turner who absolutely handles the ball, gets it
on special teams, gets it on defense too, sometimes even
as a middle linebacker. But those teams can be a
bit one side, and when you really closed down on
a guy like Ronald Hatch, it can slow up that offense,
(01:30:03):
and that's kind of what has happened so far for
this Webster offense.
Speaker 2 (01:30:07):
First and ten from their own thirty three here for
Webster as Hatch one of the two men in the backfield,
he'll get the carry on first down, running toward the
near side, running into the pile, and it looks like
it's a gain of three maybe four there for Hatch,
but tackled there and brought down second back three.
Speaker 3 (01:30:27):
Yeah, and it really felt like he was gonna get
stonewall that kind of the line of scrimmage. But again,
that's why the coaches teach you to keep your legs running,
because he definitely kept that pile moving with just his legs.
And then with the offensive lineman pushing from behind, it's
like a tug of war over there, except you're just
pushing it instead.
Speaker 2 (01:30:43):
It'll be second and seven right at the thirty five
yard line here as Webster tries to stay on schedule
here on offense, same formation here for Webster. Two guys
in the backfield for the Tigers, as this one will
go to Hatch. Look like Hatch wants to throw it
and he does. That's a duck and that's intercepted, brought
(01:31:05):
down just about the forty can't quite see who it was.
That's Lendon Leslie. A big play for him coming off
that touchdown, and he manages to find that interception. It'll
be first and ten Boyceville.
Speaker 3 (01:31:21):
Big touchdown and now a big interception setting them up
in Webster territory. And also Ronald Hatch has had a
few different times to throw the ball this year. Two
for nine eleven yards, three interceptions, make that number four
on the year for the running back.
Speaker 2 (01:31:37):
First and ten from the forty one yard line of
Webster here is that's what the situation will be for Boyceville,
Len and Leslie having himself a heck of a game.
Just a quick word for any o Clare Express fans
who may be tuning in Dalton VARs Show. Former Express
player has homeward to tie the ballgame at two there
in Game one of the World Series. Ten from the
(01:32:00):
forty one here for Boyceville. Looks like it is Rome
hilled back to pass a little dump off to Leslie.
Leslie on the screen running near side. He's got blockers,
he's got space, and he is up past the thirty
taken down in about the twenty five. That'll be another
first down Boysville.
Speaker 3 (01:32:18):
And this is what really good teams do. You don't
have just one player you have to worry about, you
don't have two players. You have a whole lot of
players you have to worry about. In Boyceville. That's Landon Leslie.
He wasn't even on the docket of players that I
think we mentioned to start off this game. But that
just shows the impact of being able to have those
kind of skill mat or those kind of skill players
out there that can really make plays on those boundaries.
Speaker 2 (01:32:40):
Seven seventeen and counting left to go. Here in the
third quarter, it's another first down, first and ten right
at the twenty six yard line. Here for the Boyceville Bulldogs.
Rome hild is back to pass. He's trying to evade
the pressure and he throws a screen to his left
as it looks like that's right Dell and right Dell's
out some space inside the ten, diving for the pylon,
(01:33:03):
gotta see if there's a signal, and it doesn't look
like he's there, And now a flag comes out, but
he is inside the five. There's a flag on the
plane flagged down. It was on right Dell on the
reception for Rome Hill.
Speaker 3 (01:33:20):
And an unsportsman like for Webster there. So that's gonna
make it even closer.
Speaker 2 (01:33:25):
Carry. I'm not sure how much yards they're they're taking
off of that one. It was certainly inside the five
at that point. The penalty yard just becomes almost academic.
Speaker 3 (01:33:36):
Right, and especially with how the running game has been
for boys Buil so far, it's almost it's almost a
walk in either way.
Speaker 2 (01:33:43):
But will either way be first in goal here for Boysville,
trying to see where they're spotting this ball, I think
they're gonna spot it. That looks like right at about
the one inch line.
Speaker 3 (01:33:55):
Yeah, quite literally the one inch line, if not the
one yard line.
Speaker 2 (01:33:59):
If it was Philadelphia, all they'd have to do is
snap the ball. But times you're in high school, we
play by the rules, and Boysville is going to call
a time out, we'll step aside. We'll be back in
thirty seconds here on your home for high school football.
Speaker 1 (01:34:13):

It's your home for high school football Moose Country one

Speaker 2 (01:34:54):
Welcome back, everybody, six fifty six left to go. Here
in the third quarter, Boyceville leading U Webster by a
score of twenty three to six, and they're knocking on
the door of the goal line, first and goal from
the one.
Speaker 3 (01:35:08):
Yeah, and this gut did not get set up very
well by the Webster defense, as they also had an
unsports and like conduct that got an even closer to
that one yard line.
Speaker 2 (01:35:21):
Is that now they're going to talk to the officials
about something. I think they're oh, they're trying to get
the ball in or maybe a late substitution, and now
they're ready to go. A snap goes and the'll be
Tucker Linstrom into the end zone, and there's another Voyceville
touchdown as Lyndstrom the carry from the one didn't take
(01:35:43):
a whole lot, but he'll take it. As that puts
Boysville up by a score of twenty nine to six,
and I would expect them to go for one here
on this pa too.
Speaker 3 (01:35:53):
No, it kind of looked like how you set up
against a scout team on the goal line there, as
they kind of just walked right in. But Lynz from
getting a touchdown here on this one and really starts
to pull this game apart as it's a twenty nine
to six Leadys.
Speaker 2 (01:36:08):
They're gonna go for two. Rome Hilled throws intercepted and
that will they'll blow the play dead. So no convergon
there for boys Phil. Still a twenty nine to lead,
six fifty three left to go on the third. You're
on your home for high school football.

six point seven Welcome back.
Speaker 2 (01:37:06):
Six point fifty three left to play in the third,
Boysvil taking a twenty nine to six lead here over Webster,
Noah Sports, and Dan Zones alongside you, Dan Price, the
incomparable Dan Price back in studio making us sound good
and us Webster is set to get this football back.
What are you looking for? Dan?
Speaker 3 (01:37:25):
Some of what we had seen before from Webster, but
now that voice was kind of keyed in on it.
You're gonna have to do a lot more play action
plays to try and get yourself back into this game.
They really had a chance here to maybe even get
one of the upsets of the playoffs. If now the
best upside of the playoffs, I'd say, in my opinion.
But right now, Boyceville holds a twenty nine to six lead,
(01:37:46):
and if you're Webster, you're just trying to get this
ball moving, because it has not moved at all.
Speaker 2 (01:37:51):
Much. This half kick is a way that one. It's
a deep kick and that one will go into the
end zone untouched, so it's a touch back. Helen Drung
really got all of that one, and it will be
first intent here coming up for Webster.
Speaker 3 (01:38:08):
Yeah, and something else to note too is Thomas Viatelli,
the kicker for boys Felt, went out with an injury
a little bit earlier in this game, so now they
have Zach Hellen Drunk kind of acts as like the
backup kicker in there for the game. And that's why
he got a lot of oohs and ahs because he's
got the big kickoff there that's send it into the
end zone.
Speaker 2 (01:38:27):
We've seen Helen Drung handle at least some of the kickoff. Dude,
he's all season long, of course handling all the field
goals and the extra points, right. But Helen Drung certainly
being called on here in this one as it is
first intent from their own twenty here for Webster, and
that ball is handed to Ronald Hatch, and Hatch, who's
(01:38:48):
been the main ball carrier for the Tigers all game long,
is able to game get back to the line. It
looks like now second intent.
Speaker 3 (01:38:59):
Yeah, it's really been just three players they've called on
skill player wise to get the ball here, and it's
been Jacob Farrengo or a Fernando who's their quarterback technically,
and Ronald Hatch who's their main running back. And then
you have Kennis Schwenderman who has been gotten a couple
of catches here and there, but he hasn't really gotten
much of the line share of the carries. And now
(01:39:22):
setting up for this second down, Webster's gotta find something
going here.
Speaker 2 (01:39:26):
Six zho nine left to go here in the third quarters,
it is a run along the far side, gain of
about nine Not sure who the ball carrier was, looks
like it could have been Fernengo.
Speaker 3 (01:39:38):
It was, yeah, and that's a big it's gonna be
close to a first down. They might give it to him,
and they are gonna give it to him. So that's
gonna be a big first down there for Webster, who
has felt like they had been going backwards every single
time they touched the ball in the second half, but
now finally gaining that first first down, it's gotta feel
good for him.
Speaker 2 (01:39:58):
It'll be first and send ball right the thirty yard
line here is Webster gets a new set of downs.
They've got that backfield with Hatch and for Nango all
set to go here on first and ten, and it
will be Hatch running along the near side, and Hatch
is taken down after a gain of maybe a yard.
Second and second down, and.
Speaker 3 (01:40:18):
You got your Bo Dawson a lot of cright there.
He came all the way around from the backfield to
go over and get a big time tackle behind the sticks.
And now second down and second down and eight, I
should say, really sets them up in a poor position.
But if you're Webster, you just kind of been moving
forward as much as you can, even a little bit
(01:40:39):
of yards, like two yards, three yards, they're all gonna
make a difference.
Speaker 2 (01:40:42):
Boysville leading Webster twenty nine to six, five twenty five
and counting left to go in the penultimate quarter. It's
another way to say, the third, second and eight, this
ball goes to on the direct snap, it goes to
for Nango, it looks like, and he runs forward, game
of maybe a couple third.
Speaker 3 (01:41:02):
Down car And who's to say, we don't teach you
nothing on these broadcasts. But now no gain again for Webster.
As now it's gonna set up a third name. They've
been backed up a couple of times. Now, they've gotten
a good they've found some good running room with Ronald
Hatch from time to time, but they just have not
found any kind of consistency there.
Speaker 2 (01:41:23):
I should clarify for any youngsters with their dictionaries out,
penultimate does not mean third. It means second to last,
which is still the third quarter. Who says football is boring?
Back to pass? Fernaningo looking high in the air, caught
Hatch all alone, thirty twenty ten touchdown. Nobody's gonna get him,
(01:41:44):
and Webster is right back in this football game.
Speaker 3 (01:41:48):
Wow, how did you lose him?
Speaker 2 (01:41:54):
We've been saying it all game, you especially Dan, You
look at number eight Hatch. He is your key and
you know he's getting the ball more often than not.
That that might be the most open we've seen a
player and any game we've covered all season.
Speaker 3 (01:42:07):
Yeah, I mean easily, especially with covering this boyseball team.
I'm Hatch completely got out of it was all as
if no one was watching him on that far side.
But he gotten out of that backfield, kind of lined
up on the side and just took off and not
a single person was there.
Speaker 2 (01:42:24):
So right, Now the score stands twenty nine to twelve
and out there for the extra point. Looks like it'll
be sears here for Webster. The snap is down, the
kick is up and blocked. Excuse me, that was Hatch.
You're going for the extra point, It's no good and
so the score will remain twenty nine to twelve, four
(01:42:44):

It's your home for high school football Moose Country one
oh six point seven.
Speaker 2 (01:43:28):
Welcome back for twenty six left to go on the
third quarter, twenty nine to twelve. It's boys Field leading
Webster here in the first round of the WYA Division
seven High School Football Playoffs.
Speaker 3 (01:43:41):
Yeah, We just saw the second touchdown for Webster on
the night, and it came in another weird fashion. Completely
wide open was Ronald Hatch, who has been the leading
runner for this Webster Tigers team, but also the leading
receiver and also one of the guys you cannot leave
wide open on a pass play like that, and he
made them pay. And that's the thing. It's like, as
(01:44:04):
I told you in the break, doesn't matter who you
have to throw in the football. If you can get
that your skill player wide open down the field, it's
a touchdown every time.
Speaker 2 (01:44:14):
Boyceville will get another chance here with four to twenty
six left to go in the third, trying to maintain
this lead, and you know, it's still a little bit
a little ways to go here in the third and
all the fourth quarter left, But do you think they
start to try and worry about the clock a little
bit here?
Speaker 3 (01:44:29):
I think they do, especially if you're Webster, I would
I would expect them to be as aggressive as possible
with taking their time outs early in the fourth quarter.
But still seventeen point game.
Speaker 2 (01:44:41):
Sears kicks it away. It's a good one. It's plenty
deep and that'll be fielded about the ten as for Boyceville,
looks like that is Leslie. Leslie's got a full head
of steam. He's up across midfield and all the way
to the Webster forty five yard line. That's where the
Boycevil Bulldogs will take over.
Speaker 3 (01:45:00):
And another short field for this boysful team. Thanks Land
and Leslie. Again, he's been the name to call this night.
And that's the thing with this boysful team. It's gonna
be a it's gonna be a player every single night
that's gonna have their game. And tonight's been Lynn Leslie's game.
Speaker 2 (01:45:15):
It'll be first and ten ball right at the Webster
forty six here for Boysville is they'll look to take over.
Four to eighteen left to go here in the third quarter,
Boycevil comes to the line. Looks like it'll be a shotgun. Look,
two backs in the backfield, three wide receivers, two along
the far sideline, leaving Leslie all alone on the near side. Instead,
(01:45:36):
it is a handoff and that ball will go to
Tucker Linstrom. Is Lindstrom up past the forty yard line,
but there is a flag in the backfield, so we'll
have to see what that is. Said. Looks like this
one may be coming back.
Speaker 3 (01:46:00):
It's like an in sportsmanlike potentially.
Speaker 2 (01:46:02):
Sportsmanlike conduct against Boyceville, as that'll back them up quite
a few yards in fact, well passed or well beyond
the original line of scrimmage.
Speaker 3 (01:46:12):
It looks like, Yeah, especially since I didn't get a
lot of yards on that run there, it's gonna back
them up a long way.
Speaker 2 (01:46:22):
As ball is gonna be spotted. Well, it was at
their own it was it the excuse me, it was
at the Webster forty six, and now it's gonna be
spotted at their own thirty nine yard line. That's a
big deflating penalty here for Boyceville. Here first and twenty five,
(01:46:42):
Rome hilled back to pass. He's gonna roll to his right,
looking downfield, He's gonna try and run. He maybe gets
to midfield before he's out of bounds. It's gonna be
interesting to see where they spot him. They spot him
shy on the fifty at his own forty eight. I'm
still now second in a little less than a mile.
Speaker 3 (01:47:01):
Yeah, still a decent science pick up there from them
as their u scond as they're slowly waving, just could
not get much of an angle outside of them. There
wasn't really anyone open. Plus, when you have that many
blockers out in front of you, you just got to kind
of take and that's kind of That's what rome Hill did,
was saw his blockers out in front of him, said Okay,
(01:47:22):
I think I can make a play with this, and
ran and got a about nine eight nine yards there
on that play.
Speaker 2 (01:47:28):
Got to think that Webster's looking for it though. Also
we've seen rome Hild take off and run plenty of times,
not only this game but this season. It's still good
game of about nine there makes it second and sixteen
here for Boyceville. Two backs in the backfield as rome
Hild will go under center here for the Bulldogs. Second
(01:47:49):
and sixteen from their own forty seven, and this time
it will be a handoff that goes to Tucker Lindstrom.
Lindstrom stays on his feet up past the forty five
about forty four yard line, and that'll make it at
the very least third and manageable. Looks like it'll be
third and about nine.
Speaker 3 (01:48:08):
Which where they were at was a first and twenty five.
That's relatively manageable considering the situation. But also if you're
boys fail, you gotta watch out what you're doing. They're
gonna be trying to force a turnover here because that's
gonna be the quickest way they can get that ball
back that they have to punt that ball. It still
takes a lot of time off the clock. You still
have to make up the ground, but you can force
(01:48:28):
a turnover here. If you're Webster, that's gonna set up
your offense very fine.
Speaker 2 (01:48:33):
Three twenty three in counting left to go on the
third quarter, it'll be third and nine from the Webster
forty four fake hand off Rome Hills on the screen,
past that one goes to Winstrom. Winstrom on the far sideline,
got the first down and out of bounds. Oh, it's
gonna be closer. They gonna give it to them. That
will be a Boycevil first down. They'll spot them out
(01:48:56):
of bounds right at the thirty five yard line of Webster.
Speaker 3 (01:49:00):
And so they're getting hit with everything tonight, now getting
backed up to first and twenty five, having to pick
up that set it downs and now still moving forward,
you were able to get back to kind of your
original line, if you will, and now you're set up
to go. Just great movement there by the offensive line
and a great job by the backfield to find their situation.
Speaker 2 (01:49:23):
Is this time it'll be a handoff that goes to
Zach Hellendrung and Helen Drung up across the thirty to
about the twenty nine decent game there on first down,
makes it second and short.
Speaker 3 (01:49:33):
And then something to bring up to is just how
deep they're pushing that defensive line into the into the
blind backers before those running backs are even getting hit.
There hasn't been a lot of first there hasn't been
a lot of short run games because they've been able
to take five to seven yards almost each carry will be.
Speaker 2 (01:49:52):
A game of six. Makes it second and four to two,
sixteen and counting left to go. On the third quarter,
as boys piil holding onto this twenty nine to twelve
lead under center, is rom Hill takes a couple of tosses,
now back to pass. All the time in the world
looking deep. Now he's gonna escape left and he's gonna run.
He's got the first down at the twenty and out
of bounds toward the fifteen, and that'll be another boys
(01:50:16):
Field first down thanks to the scramble from Carson rome Hill.
Speaker 3 (01:50:20):
And I'm almost wondering if they're also if Rome Hill's
also thinking, Okay, yeah, I can't make a turnover here,
because there's a couple of throws he probably could have
made out there, but there just wasn't. It was just
barely on the edge of maybe I should throw this,
maybe I shouldn't throws, maybe this could get picked off.
So you can definitely tell it that that is a
thought on their mind out there is Okay, we can't
(01:50:41):
turn over the ball here. We cannot give them a
short field. Now they're moving forward in a great smart
play by Rome Hill. They're just tucking and run.
Speaker 2 (01:50:48):
Especially with the way that this lead is going. You know,
nothing wrong with being safe with the football with the
lead here, minute fifty eight left to go, and looks
like there's movement before the Snamp will have a flag down.
It'll be off sides against Webster and that'll be another
couple of yards, another five yards I should say here
for Boyceville.
Speaker 3 (01:51:09):
And just keeps the ball moving for Boysvil now, and
trust me, they don't have any They don't really need
the help there, but they're definitely welcome to it. And
now Boyceville has a chance here to find their way
to get into the end zone again and make this
an even bigger lead.
Speaker 2 (01:51:24):
First and five from the ten fakes hand off looking
that's a completion to Helen Drunk near side. Helen Drunk,
stiff arm, stays on his feet, Zach.
Speaker 4 (01:51:33):
Helen Drung in the end zone for another Boycevel touchdown.
Speaker 2 (01:51:40):
Helen Drung with an angry run.
Speaker 3 (01:51:42):
There, Dan. That was a massive run there by Helen Drunk.
Speaker 1 (01:51:46):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (01:51:47):
Just that reverse screen to just set him up and
then the blockers out in front. I mean, that's why
you set up your skill players with blockers, because that
kind of stuff happens. And Helen Drunk that great stiff
arm to just get in get that extra boostage and touchdown.
Helling Drunk. Great job from the Boysville offense.
Speaker 2 (01:52:05):
Boostage, good word, very fitting on that, Zach. Helen Rung
run makes it a thirty five to twelve lead a
minute and forty left to go here in the third quarter.
As Boysville they're they're firing on all cylinders here in
this one, and it looks like they're gonna keep the
offense out there and go for two again. Like you
said earlier, that may be due to the injury to
(01:52:27):
their kicker.
Speaker 3 (01:52:27):
Vitzli yeah, and also just to give get them over
that twenty five.
Speaker 2 (01:52:32):
Point mark two as looks like this is a reverse.
Looks like that's Andrew Ton and somehow Tod he was
stopped well short of the goal line, but he keeps
his legs moving and gets over that chalk and he
is into the end zone for the good two point
conversion thirty seven to twelve. We'll step aside here on
(01:52:54):

Speaker 1 (01:53:34):
High school football Moose Country one oh six point seven.
Speaker 2 (01:53:38):
Welcome back, everybody. A big touchdown for Boyceville and a
successful two point conversion give them a thirty seven to
twelve lead with a minute forty left to go. Here
in the third quarter in Round one of the WYAA
Division seven High school football playoffs, it feels like temperature
in Boysvil tonight. A ball me thirty six degrees. I
was just about to tell Dan Zounds before we came
(01:53:59):
back from break. This will feel downright, ballmy in a
couple months.
Speaker 3 (01:54:05):
Yes, it will. It's it is going to get colder,
and you gotta be ready for and especially in these playoffs.
Speaker 2 (01:54:11):
You do the kick is away, it's high and deep,
and returning it for Webster at about the ten looks
like that is it is not Hatch, but he stays
on his feet whoever he is up past the fifteen.
How the balls out and it looks like Boycefil recovers
inside the twenty and they do. That is a Boycefil
(01:54:35):
fumble recovery, and they'll have a real short field with
a minute twenty eight left to go in the third quarter.
Speaker 3 (01:54:42):
Just trying to do too much out there is Webster
and I mean, just go you just gotta go down
when you're wrapped up like that. Not every single playoffs
to be a run for the end zone there and
got held up by the Boysfuel defenders and then just
could not get out of it, and he kept just
trying to move around and trying to do something within
ended up getting the ball punched out. And now Boycevil
(01:55:03):
has it inside the twenty or inside the twenty.
Speaker 2 (01:55:06):
First and ten from the sixteen. That's what they're gonna
call it here is Boysvil gets their offense back on
the field, tries to figure out what they're gonna call
here with a short field. Of course, they've got that
thirty seven to twelve lead with a minute twenty eight
left to go here in the third quarter in the
first round of the playoff.
Speaker 3 (01:55:24):
So you don't have to be too aggressive here. If
you're Boys fault, you still have a chance to either
just run the ball down and get some touchdown, getting
easy touchdown walking in.
Speaker 2 (01:55:33):
Hey's Romhild under center, two backs in the backfield. He's
back to pass on first and ten, looking for the screen,
has to evade their rush, rolling to his left, looking downfield,
throws to the end zone. Oh nearly incomplete, as that
one was close Bradley Mays was the intended receiver, just
could not haul that one in before he hit the ground.
(01:55:55):
Second and ten, And.
Speaker 3 (01:55:56):
Say what you will about the Webster defense. Obviously they've
given up thirty, but that the defensive backs have not
been the issue for the most part tonight. It's been
a lot of the down linemen not being able to
blocks or the linebackers, but not the defensive backs. They've
been the ones really carrying this Webster defense.
Speaker 2 (01:56:13):
I mean second and ten from the sixteen after that incompletion,
minute nineteen left to go on the third rome hill.
This time it's a handoff to Zach Helen drug Helen
drunk with a full head of speed steam. I should
say he's up to about the five. I think they're
gonna say he stopped at about the six. It'll be
mighty close whether they mark that a first down or not.
(01:56:34):
Looks like it will be third and one.
Speaker 3 (01:56:36):
And it didn't feel like he even got touched until
easily the linebacking easily the linebacker spot. But just what
a run and this running game for a Boicefall has
been able to really find and really hit these creases
full speed, and it's been really great. To watch on
that offensive end.
Speaker 2 (01:56:54):
You're gonna call it third and one from the seven
clock inside of forty seconds in the quarters. The handoff
goes to Helen Drunk again. Helen Drung's got the first
down to be certain inside the fine but not quite
to the goal line. It will be first and goal
to goal here for Boyceville.
Speaker 3 (01:57:12):
Yeah, and just got to keep it percolating, just got
to keep it moving. Here this Zach hellen Jung grumbles
down into inside of that five yard line. Just a
great job by him. And also this offensive line for
being able to keep up with the defensive prowess of
the Webster defensive line. So far, it's been the offensive
line beating the defensive line of the trenches, and it
(01:57:32):
hasn't really felt like it's been close.
Speaker 2 (01:57:34):
First and goal from the three, it's a handoff and uh,
looks like that he's landing Leslie and he's into the
end zone. Here for another voice bil touchdown. They're now
leading forty three to twelve.
Speaker 3 (01:57:51):
And don't blink because what was just the fifteen to
six lead at halftime has ballooned into a forty three
to twelve lead. I mean, come on, that's what good
teams do.
Speaker 2 (01:58:02):
I was gonna say, this looks a lot more like
the Boyceville team that we've covered all season. Dan. This
team really taking the lead and making sure that everybody
knows it.
Speaker 3 (01:58:12):
Oh yeah, And they're the type of team to really
make sure that Okay, yeah, we are going to win,
and we're gonna win handily.
Speaker 2 (01:58:18):
Here, eight seconds left to go in the quarter. This
will be an untimed down on the two point conversion attempt.
Some kicking troubles here for Boyceville. Rome Hill is under center.
He's gonna toss that one as it looks like that's
Andrew Ton. Ton will not make it to the line.
He's taken down hard out of bounds, but no flags
and so the score will remain forty three to twelve.

Speaker 2 (01:59:37):
Welcome back everybody, forty three to twelve. It's a big
lead for boys Phylis. They have exploded for a boatload
of points here in this third quarter.
Speaker 3 (01:59:48):
Ye And I guess you could say you're there making
the change there too.
Speaker 6 (01:59:52):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (01:59:52):
I've just really been able to find their gaps, especially
in the running game there. And the offensive line, you
gotta give credit to that. They've been the lifeblood of
this team so far. You could say whatever you want
to about the skill players, but the offensive line has
really held strong against this Webster front and has either
been winning against them or has held their ground against
(02:00:13):
the different rushing attacks they'll have, especially when defending in
the pass rush or defending with the pass. But now
Boys will set to kick off. This is your chance
to really end this quote unquote end this game, or
at least get it started. Right in the fourth quarter.
Speaker 2 (02:00:28):
Eight seconds left to go on the third we'll try
not to get ahead of ourselves. A little squip kick
there falling on just at about the fifty yards somewhere
around midfield, as it looks like that is Wayne Dorn
falling on that one on special teams for Webster, and
that's where they will take over on their own forty
seven yard line.
Speaker 3 (02:00:48):
And what an interesting way to fall on the ball,
especially when it was going to be a squipkick, but
you still jumped on it as if it were an
on sidekick. So I mean it sets up your team
very well, but could have obviously been a bit of
a mishap if it would have gone a different way.
Speaker 2 (02:01:04):
Hey, better safe than sorry. It'll be first and ten
from their own forty seven here for Webster hatching for
an ango in their backfield as they trail. Boys fell
forty three to twelve. That one goes to Hatch Hatch
running near sideline. It's a game of maybe a yard
or two, but a flag is down four seconds left
to go on the quarter.
Speaker 3 (02:01:25):
Yeah, and it looks like this one might be going
back too.
Speaker 2 (02:01:30):
We'll have to see it looks like a holding call
against Webster, so that will back them up. Turns first
and tent into first and longer than that.
Speaker 3 (02:01:40):
And just another penalty they add to the score sheet. Now,
just been on both sides. Really, Boysfil's gotten a front
of them, but Webster's followed up with some more, especially
later here in this third quarter.
Speaker 2 (02:01:52):
Will be first and it looks like twenty is they're
gonna spot that ball right back at the forty excuse me,
First and eighteen and with four seconds left. Barring the improbable,
this should be the last play of the third quarter.
Speaker 3 (02:02:09):
We see we seem weirder.
Speaker 2 (02:02:12):
To say the least, First and eighteen. It will be
a reverse play running along the near side. Looks like
that was Bryant McKinley who stumbled behind the line of scrimmage.
Looks like they're gonna call that one a loss of one.
Make it second and nineteen, and that will end the
third quarter. But don't go anywhere. We've got the thrilling
(02:02:34):
conclusion to this one. Right after this Boyceville forty three
and Webster twelve. Here on your home for high school football.

Speaker 2 (02:03:23):
Welcome back everybody. It's the thrilling conclusion and it is
the fourth quarter of this one here in Round one
of the WYA Division seven High School football playoffs, as
Boysville right now leading Webster by a score of forty
three to twenty. No Schwartz here, dan Zounds there.
Speaker 3 (02:03:41):
Yeah, and I mean so far been all Boysville, but
Webster has had their chances here to keep it close,
but has just not really accumulated for them. And they've
had a few turnover on downs, few turnovers in general,
especially one on a kickoff. And now Boysville trying to
wrap this game out with a fourth quarter looming.
Speaker 2 (02:04:01):
Fourth quarter, it'll be second and twenty here for Webster,
ball on their own thirty eight yard line is back
to passes for an Ago. He's in trouble and a
free rusher wraps him up and takes him down. That'll
be a big sack. Or Boyceville makes the third and
second and long into third and even longer.
Speaker 3 (02:04:20):
Yeah, and that was Jakobe Karshner who just absolutely unblocked
around that left side and had a big, big beat
on Jacob Fernengo before he even had a chance to
throw that ball. Just had to kind of just grab it,
hold it down and just take that sack. And now
third down and twenty seven. You know, this thing's either
gonna be deep or it's gonna be a close and
short screen to try and gain some ground.
Speaker 2 (02:04:43):
Well, you know what Al Davis said, The quarterback must
go down and he must go down hard. Did that
time third and twenty seven here for Webster backed up
to their own thirty yard line. Not really a look
that they're gonna throw out of is. Looks like it
will just be a handoff once again to Ronald Hatch,
and Hatch maybe back to the line. Fourth down.
Speaker 3 (02:05:06):
Yeah, and just as you said, they just handed it
to Ronald Hatches broken away for some big runs here,
But there was nothing going on that one. It seemed
like the play was already done before he'd even gotten
the handoff.
Speaker 2 (02:05:19):
Fourth and twenty seven. That's that's what they call a lot, just.
Speaker 3 (02:05:23):
A bit almost thirty yards, some would say almost, not quite,
not quite, but we're getting there.
Speaker 2 (02:05:31):
Ten thirty five left to go here in the fourth quarter.
Big lead for Boysville. They're up forty three to twelve
here over Webster. And it looks like punt formation here
for Webster. I'd be shocked if it wasn't. As the
man for Webster steps into that one, bounces about midfield,
and that one is taken with a full head of steam.
(02:05:53):
But it looks like that is Lend and Leslie. Leslie
up past the thirty before he's taken down, and it'll
be another short field here for Boyceville.
Speaker 3 (02:06:03):
Yeah, Land and Leslie, Oh my goodness, I mean, he
was for a stef arm like it was no one's
business and just kept on running. But just like great
job there on special teams, and a great job by
Land and Leslie to also just kind of wait for
the play to develop and then grab the ball and
just take off full at his steam ahead and awareness.
Speaker 2 (02:06:22):
The acceleration the first step burst from Leslie really remarkable there.
And it'll be first and ten from the webster twenty
seven here for Boyceville.
Speaker 3 (02:06:33):
Chance to get fifty here, potentially get a touchdown, potentially
get an extra point.
Speaker 2 (02:06:37):
Ten thirteen left to play in this game. Rome Hill
in the shotgun, two backs beside him, he's back to pass,
He's got time.
Speaker 4 (02:06:44):
Throws over the middle, cut touchdown, Boyceville right up and
jack Kobe Kirshner, and.
Speaker 2 (02:06:52):
That is that touchdown you were looking for. Dan Kirshner
wide open on a slant route.
Speaker 3 (02:06:57):
And I mean it was just it felt like it
was just a basic slant route, but Kershner absolutely took
it up a notch and was wide open in the
middle of the field. Roam Hill almost felt like that
was gonna be the open guy there in the field,
and Kershner rewarded for a big time sack and a
big touchdown earlier to add to his stats total.
Speaker 2 (02:07:15):
Tonight got that separation. That was all he needed and
that makes it a forty nine to twelve lead here
for Boyceville, and they got to figure out what they're
gonna do. We haven't seen an extra point attempting quite
some time thanks to an injury to their place kicker,
vit sally So.
Speaker 3 (02:07:31):
And they're also a hard team to beat inside the
two to the three yard line there so, but they're
lining up for an extra point right now.
Speaker 2 (02:07:39):
It looks like it will be Helen Drum, their other kicker,
and of course they're running back trying to make this
a fifty point night here for the Bulldogs. To snap
is a little high, but it's brought down and the
kick is up and through little fifty to twelve. That's
your score. Ten oh seven left to play a big
lead for Boysville. Here on your home for high school football.
Speaker 1 (02:08:01):

It's your home for high school football Moose Country. One
oh six point seven.
Speaker 2 (02:08:41):
Welcome back, everybody. Fifty to twelve. That's your score with
ten oh seven left to play in regulation. Your boys
feel really running away from Webster.
Speaker 3 (02:08:52):
Yeah, and Webster hasn't really gotten I've gotten their lock
back yet, to be honest with you, they had a
close to start off this game, and it got back
to being a little bit closer with it being twenty
three to twelve, but nothing since then.
Speaker 2 (02:09:08):
The kick is high and deep as it is a
way returned at about the twenty little bit of a fumble,
but he recovers as it looks like that is Fernango
Forrnango running He's almost across midfield before he's taken out
a bounds on the far sideline, so a good return
there for Webster is the clock is running as the
lead has surpassed thirty five points here for Boysville.
Speaker 3 (02:09:32):
Yeah, and for Anengo, it felt like he was able
to somehow grab that momentum back. Even though his momentum
got completely stopped by him fumbling the football, he's still
able to pick it up and run with it. And
we haven't really been able to see him run too
much tonight because every single time he's gotten the ball,
it's either been backwards for about four or five yards
or has maybe been for minimal game. But him being
(02:09:54):
their quarterback, he kind of has to be one of
those guys in the backfield to either hand the ball
off or throw the ball here, and there's nothing going
for that offense.
Speaker 2 (02:10:02):
On first and ten once again, a direct snap looks
like that's Ronald Hatch and Hatch fights forward maybe a
yard second down.
Speaker 3 (02:10:11):
Yeah, and now that they fully keyed in on a
Hatch hasn't really allowed anyone to really distract them. Boysl's
been really holding him to one to two plus yards
that carry.
Speaker 2 (02:10:22):
Looks like Boyceville is starting to put in some of
their second unit here on defense, as it will be
second and eight right from about the forty nine yard
line here for Webster.
Speaker 3 (02:10:33):
Well if it being fifty to twelve. There's not a
lot of reason to keep a lot of your older
players out there.
Speaker 2 (02:10:38):
It looks like more of a spread formation than we've
seen from Webster. Three excuse me, four wide receivers, just
one back in the backfield is for an angle back
to pass under immediate duress. He's going to have to
throw this one downfield, but it's caught by Hatch and
Hatch has got it complete first down and more as
he's taken down at the Boyceville thirty five.
Speaker 3 (02:11:01):
And that was just a great job there by Fernngo.
He absolutely could have gotten brought down in the backfield,
but instead was able to just kind of dance around
by his time and was able to get it to
Ronald Hatche. We've set his name all game long. He
is easily the best playmaker on this Webster team. He's
really showing it, especially in this last bit of the
fourth quarter.
Speaker 2 (02:11:21):
First and ten here from the thirty seven. Here's Webster
comes to the line once again. They'll go back to
their usual two backs in the backfield formation. That's Hatch
and for Nango here and back to pass his four
n Ango once again, he's gonna step up. He's gonna
try and run. It looks like he's taken down by
(02:11:42):
the back of his jersey as he's stopped at about
the thirty five. Still gain him about three and that
will bring up second down.
Speaker 3 (02:11:50):
It looked like he was about to break away, but
I think that grab on the jersey there really slow
him down and pull him backwards. But now, if you're
a webster, you gotta really care off of this first,
this new set of downs and find a way to
get And like you had said before, we saw a
new look spread look, and I feel like that's where
they're at their best, is when they can really spread
their playmakers around. But I'm also more of a fan
(02:12:13):
of watching the spread look too. But that spread look
can also really spread, as it says, spread around the defense,
especially when it's your linebacker core out there.
Speaker 2 (02:12:23):
It will be second and eight. Ball on the thirty
five yard line is once again, four wide receivers here
and back to passes for an ago. He's gonna have
to roll to his left. He's under dress four black
jerseys there, he gets it away and that one stays
in bounds but incomplete looked like he was just throwing
it away.
Speaker 3 (02:12:43):
Yeah, or even they had. He had a wide open
receiver down there, but it didn't look like he got
nearly enough farm to try and get that throw down there,
So just kind of wabbled out of bounds. Maybe had
a chance at an interception there, but I think everyone
kind of lost in the lights here as the we
are and Friday night lights right now.
Speaker 2 (02:13:02):
Absolutely, And you mentioned that spread formation being a lot
more fun for us to watch the fans here. That's
essentially what we are, glorified fans.
Speaker 3 (02:13:11):
Yeah, of course, we just we just get to speak
about it more.
Speaker 2 (02:13:15):
Yeah, but certainly you know it is tougher to run.
Comes with different levels of nuance, different levels of risk.
Is it'll be a direct snap. Looks like that's Hatch
on third and eight, and Hatch fights forward for a
gain of couple of a couple I should say, is
Webster gets back to their bread and butter. But it
brings up fourth down.
Speaker 3 (02:13:34):
Yeah, and now on fourth down, closer field to work with,
you're you're gonna expect them to go for especially with
it with the score discrepancy right now fifty to twelve,
and Webster has kind of they've been pretty good on
fourth down for the most part. They've only had a
couple of fourth downs that haven't really gone their way,
but when it's been inside a fourth and five, fourth
(02:13:54):
and six, they've been able to pick.
Speaker 2 (02:13:55):
It up five point twenty and counting. With that running
clock left to play here in the fourth quarter, Webster
trying to play for some pride carrying it into next season,
as this will be a little bit of a reverse
that goes to McKinley, and McKinley is taken down right
at the thirty, he is stopped short on fourth down,
and Boyceville will take over on the turnover on downs,
(02:14:18):
And it.
Speaker 3 (02:14:18):
Looked like McKinley had some space to work with too,
but that space quickly dried up as Boyceville had it
really read it pretty well. It looked like they didn't
right away, but then suddenly the linebackers moved over, the
defensive backs moved over, and that really is really what
slowed him down and stopped him. And now turnover on
downs and Boyceville you're a few more snaps away from
(02:14:40):
moving on to that next round.
Speaker 2 (02:14:41):
It'll be first and ten from their own thirty here
for Boyceville, and looks like they've got some of the
second unit out there as Eli Weber. It will be
the starting quarter I should say the second string quarterback.
There will be a quick timeout for Boyceville. We'll step
side four twenty four left to go here in this
(02:15:03):
fourth quarter.
Speaker 1 (02:15:06):
This is Friday night lights on Moose Country one O

O six point seven Welcome back.
Speaker 2 (02:15:45):
Four minutes and twenty four seconds is all that separates
the Boysville Bulldogs from a trip to the second round,
as the rest of this one really a formality. Boyceville
leading Webster fifty to twelve here in the first round
of the WYA Division seven High School Football Playoffs.
Speaker 3 (02:16:04):
Yeah, in which they will have to either take on
Turtle Lake, or they'll also either have Elmwood or pepen Olm.
I should say I mix up those.
Speaker 2 (02:16:13):
Two a good bit, same neck of the woods, I
guess first and ten from their own thirties. It'll be
Eli Webber out there leading these second team offense for Boyceville.
Looks like that Carrie went to andrew Ton, and Ton
looks like he did not get back to the line
that time second and he might have fumbled that. I
(02:16:35):
think they're gonna say that's a fumble. I think you're right.
Speaker 3 (02:16:39):
Yeah, that was a fumble and it was recovered by Webster.
Speaker 2 (02:16:44):
So Webster will take it over at the Boyceville twenty
five and they will take a time out here with
four oh seven left to go, and so our producer
back in the studio, Dan Price is certainly getting his
money's worth. Will be right back after this on your
home for high school football.

oh six point seven.
Speaker 2 (02:17:41):
Welcome back everybody. After the fumble, it'll be first and
ten Webster and the ball is right at the at
the thirty yard line of Boyceville. The rest of this one,
as I mentioned a moment ago, a formality, Boyceville leading
Webster fifty to twelve with four oh seven left to go.
Maybe it's mathematically possible.
Speaker 3 (02:18:02):
But it sure is improbable.
Speaker 2 (02:18:05):
Oh, Webster is still gonna you know, they're playing for pride.
They're gonna do their best to make it happen. Here
is especially being gifted the short field after that turnover.
Speaker 3 (02:18:16):
Yeah, and especially with Boysville being as good as they are.
It's just nice to say, hey, we put up these
points against this Boysville team in this stage of the football.
Speaker 2 (02:18:26):
As it looks like back to pass once again, that's
for Nango rolling to his right in trouble throwing deep
down the field, cut no way, no incomplete would have
been an incredible catch. They're from Josiah Thunder, the senior
tight end, who was down there inside the ten. Instead
(02:18:46):
it will be second in ten.
Speaker 3 (02:18:48):
Yeah, and I mean there are a couple of different
players there with a chance with a hand on the ball,
but it just wound up incomplete, even though it looked
like he had it for a moment there just could
not bring it in. And now second and ten gonna
be expecting something a little bit more, especially with the
clock on clock gonna be running until the end of
this fourth quarter.
Speaker 2 (02:19:08):
Second down and ten, balls still at the thirty here
for Webster. Three backs in the backfield here is it
looks like they're gonna put Fernango under center. Oh, it's
a snap that goes on the ground, but it will
be handled by trying to find a number on them.
That's number twenty one. Braydon Grabo and Grabo the freshman
(02:19:30):
on the carry. Looks like he gets maybe a yard
there third and nine.
Speaker 3 (02:19:36):
After what looked like it could have been maybe a
loss of four there. He somehow able to get back
to that line of scrims. She's been able to He
was weaving around, kind of playing shifty, still able to
gain about a yard, but still third down to nine
for this Webster team.
Speaker 2 (02:19:51):
Fifty to twelve. That's our score. Boyceville leading Webster two
thirty six and counting left to play in this fourth quarter.
So he'll be fournango in the backfield instead. This one
directly snapped to Greybo and he is stopped well behind
the line. That'll bring up fourth and nine.
Speaker 3 (02:20:10):
Yeah, and just completely slipped there. I mean, the field's
probably a little slick from the condensation, but just kind
of a kind of a testament to what this Boysville
team can do, especially defensively. It's hard to even get
started when you're getting all the way dropped in the back.
Speaker 2 (02:20:28):
We're inside of two minutes left to play here in
this fourth quarter. It will be fourth and fifteen here
for Webster ball at the Boyceville thirty five yard line.
As Webster trying to get some positive yards here before
the end of the season. This one will be once again,
(02:20:48):
it'll go to Greybo and he is not back to
the line. That'll be a turnover on downs and it
looks like it'll be a happy kneel down here for
Boyceville as they can continue what will be an undefeated
season here or what will continue to be I should say,
an undefeated season here in round one of the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (02:21:08):
Yeah, and I mean just in dominant fashion like they
usually do, fifty to twelve, when it didn't really look
like that to start off, being only up fifteen to
six at halftime. But they really put together a complete
game here and now they'll be happy to move on
to that second leg, whether it be against Peppin or
Turtle Lake.
Speaker 2 (02:21:26):
Will be first and ten from their own thirty seven
backup quarterback Eli Webers in there and he will take
the knee and we're inside of a minute left to go,
fifty six seconds, so they'll need to kneel it down
one more time. But certainly a strong performance here for Boysville.
That third quarter really incredible.
Speaker 3 (02:21:45):
Absolutely, that is quite literally what really won them that
game was that third quarter, and that's gonna be what
they need to do. They're gonna have to really shake
off some of the stuff that they had go on
in that early bit of this game, which I fell
they did in that third quarter. It felt like they
shook off a lot of that rust and it felt
like they were kind of back to doing what they
were doing earlier in the season. But now boys All
(02:22:09):
done fifty to twelve with less than twenty seconds ago
and on everyone lining up.
Speaker 2 (02:22:14):
There was your final meal down in Boyceville. It's knocked
off Webster here in the first round of the playoffs.
Is they take the fifty to twelve win over Webster
in this one? Certainly, congratulations to Webster High School on
a great season for that playoff found but really no
(02:22:34):
stopping Boyceville as they won their tenth in a row
this season. Dad, any final thoughts before we sent it
to the postgame.
Speaker 3 (02:22:42):
I just got a lot of respect for what Webster's
done as a team as a program, especially with role
hatchback there. They're gonna have a couple of their returning
juniors next season, so definitely going to be a team
to watch for as they snuck into the playoffs. Now
made it close with Boysville for a lot of this game,
but all in all, Boys Well is just too big
of a match, too strong of a match, and really
(02:23:04):
has all the things you need to really make it
far in these playoffs. But it's been interesting watching it
was a fun game.

Speaker 2 (02:25:35):
Welcome back everybody here to your postgame show from Boysville.
And it's well, it's good news if you're a Boysville fan.
Is another dominant victory for the Bulldogs here in Round
one of the WIAA Division seven High School Football Playoffs,
as they have taken a fifty to twelve win over
the seven seed Webster Tigers and their season ends tonight.
(02:26:00):
We congratulate them on a great and hard fought season
over in Webster. But Boysville, you know, all season long,
they've been a powerhouse. They were really the story tonight, Dan,
and that continues to be the case.
Speaker 3 (02:26:12):
Yes it does. And I mean it wasn't all pretty
for boys Fail to start off this game. It became
a fifteen to nine, pretty close game, or fifteen to six,
I should say close game between the two. But then
Boysful did as boysful does, just as soon as that
third quarter took off. It almost felt like a new
team flipped in and only gave up one more touchdown
after that to Webster before it was all Boysful after that.
(02:26:34):
And that is just kind of what we come to
expect from this team, right, I mean, we've seen a
bunch of different players, and this time it was Landed
Leslie that came out there today got his clutch interception
before the half, but then he also got some big
time receptions as well as touchdowns that really encapsulated this game.
And it wasn't even all. It wasn't Rome Hill doing
(02:26:56):
all this kind of weaving and throwing in traffic. It
was a lot of setup screen passes that resulted in
a lot of blocking and skill players getting down the
sideline and getting wide open for some big plays. So
just a great job by Boyceville's offense tonight, as well
as their defense to hold Webster after they had looked
like they were gonna get something going there for a bit,
(02:27:16):
but not so much. Now Boysville goes on to either
face either Turtle Lake or pepin Alma in this next week.
Speaker 2 (02:27:24):
Yeah, that'll be a fun one and that will be
right here of course at uh Boyceville High school, and
it sounds like, from the sound of it, I believe
I'm right in saying that we'll be right here back
with you next week. Of course, Friday at seven pm,
that's Halloween. Are you gonna wear your costume?
Speaker 3 (02:27:41):
I might just have to. It's gonna be a scary
time with whoever the Boysville team's gonna have to face.
But still it's you gotta enjoy it a little bit.
I mean, come on, you gotta wear some kind of
a hat, noah or something.
Speaker 2 (02:27:53):
Something like that.
Speaker 3 (02:27:54):
I don't they go basketball jersey. We'll see.
Speaker 2 (02:27:58):
I've got my Chris Middleton jersey, you know, for.
Speaker 3 (02:28:00):

Speaker 2 (02:28:02):
Doesn't play for the Bucks anymore, but you know, he's
still good. I was thinking about getting those like plastic
vampliyer fans. You know, got some Transylvanian ancestry somewhere back there.
Speaker 3 (02:28:12):
It may may not come across the radio as well,
but I think the visuals will be just as funny.
Speaker 2 (02:28:18):
It's a good thing we're on radio. Oh yeah, well, Dan,
it's been a lot of fun tonight. Thanks for being

and we've we've done all the damage here we can

it in though, is once again your final score Boyceville
fifty and Webster twelve. We'll see in the second round
next week. So long,
