The game is over. Paul Georgemoney in the pain, but the postgame
reaction has just begun. Khi Leonardis so smooth in the mid range.
This is Clippers Locker Room, arecap of today's game and a look ahead
on your home for LA Clippers Basketball. And now your host, you,
sir, are a bad man.Adam Ousley Clippers win one oh six to

(00:23):
ninety five over the New York Knicksfrom KIRPO dot com arena. Welcome in
to your post game show. Comingif you're gonna hear from the head coach
and the players. We'll get thesecond half highlights in your final box score.
But first back out to your voiceof the Clippers in Noah Eagle.
No, how about this defense?Second straight game holding the team under forty
percent from the field and second straightgame holding a team to one hundred or

(00:45):
less, which has chronicles is abig deal for this team. When they
do that, they're literally unbeatable tothis point this year at sixteen and ozero.
But yeah, a thirty six percentclip for a Knicks team that over
the last fourteen fifteen games, Adamwas one of the best offense is in
the NBA. They were second inoffensive rating over the last fourteen and their
fifth overall on the season in offensiveratings. So they've been one of the

(01:07):
most efficient offenses in the league, averaging more than one hundred fifteen points per
game. The Clippers hold them toninety five. Sure, no Jalen Brunson
in this game, I get it, But you still have RJ. Barrett
who's averaging twenty. You still haveJulius Randall averaging twenty five. You still
have a Manuel Quickly, he's beenone of the best players in the NBA
the last couple of weeks. Youstill have the energy Isaiah Hartenstein and Josh
hard Quentin Grimes has had some explosivescoring games this season, and they did

(01:30):
a good job on most of theirmain really, I would say threats on
the offensive end. You've got Quickly, who was the leading scorer for the
Knicks. He had twenty six andten rebounds. So he had a big
game in forty two minutes, mindyou. But Julius Randall thirty five minutes,
played five of twenty four from thefloor, just nineteen points. RJ

(01:51):
Barrett eleven points. Didn't score inthe fourth quarter of this game when it
mattered the most. I mean, this was a comprehensive win in so many
ways. I think the Clippers shouldfeel really good about where they are after
these last three. We talked aboutit when he had I think nine points
in the third. He would endup with nineteen of his thirty eight points
in that third quarter. But Kawaidefinitely took over to start the second half

(02:12):
big time. He was unbelievable inthis game. So yeah, he had
the huge third quarter, but hescored twenty eight second half points. That's
just what he's capable of on anygiven day, any given night. And
so thirty eight. And by theway, the Clippers missed their first four
free throws from the charity stripe, they made their last twelve. They turned
it over a ton in the firstquarter. They only ended the game with
ten turnovers, all the little thingsthey had to clean up for the second

(02:34):
straight game, it feels like theyadjusted as the game went on, and
that to me is as important asanything when you look at what this team's
ceiling could be is how do theyadjust on the fly. And these last
two games have been super encouraging againsttwo very good basketball teams, mind you,
and another closing lineup with Eric Gordonout there. Really loved his play.
He had the nice bounce pass toPlumbly early in the fourth quarter,

(02:57):
hit a three pointer, but juststeady, reliable Gordon out there, no
doubt about it. He was greatand running the point guard, having the
ball in his hands, not reallyturning the ball over. In fact,
he had zero turnovers himself this entiregame, and so the Clippers as a
team with the ten turnovers. Butas mentioned, I thought they did a
really good job of taking care ofthe ball, especially when it mattered with
the most and Gordon was a bigreason why. Defensively we still see the

(03:20):
impact he's making. Had a coupleof strips, had a couple of good
defensive plays, and sure some foulsthat maybe he didn't agree with, but
he was a plus eight in thisgame. And have a Paul George in
this one. So you could talkabout Kawhi Leonard being thirty eight points leading
the way scoring wise, but PaulGeorge led this game in plus minus plus
twenty one in this game and agame the Clippers won by eleven in a
game that RJ. Barrett was aminus twenty one. So you look at

(03:43):
the mirror there. I think thatPG just thoroughly outplayed his matchup in this
one, and it wasn't all thatclose. Yeah, I had that big
second quarter, I should say, with thirteen of his twenty two points.
I thought this was the best gamefrom Marcus Morris in some time, not
just with his scoring, but defensively, he just looked a little bit er
out there. The rest can certainlyhelp veterans. Yeah, and I thought
that the big shot he hit inthe fourth quarter, you know, he

(04:05):
had already been building that confidence back, and to your point, the rest
is a big deal for him.His shots were a lot of them being
short, and he was out fora couple of games with the elbow issues,
so he was a little out ofrhythm. But I thought not just
the big shots that he made, which were two big threes to open up
that early lead for the Clippers, got them a little bit of good footing
on the offensive end, but thencertainly the big shot at the end of

(04:28):
the fourth quarter. More importantly,I thought his defense was stellar and I
know that he ended up this game. He ended up with four personal fouls,
and a lot of them were inthe fourth quarter, But I thought
he did a good job moving hisfeet, staying in front of quicker guys
like Emmanuel Quickly and others. SoI think he deserves a lot of respect
and praise for the way that he'splayed, not just today, but even

(04:49):
the other day against Toronto and thenthe fourth quarter against Memphis. He was
a big reason they won that gameas well. Clippers end up winning by
eleven over the Knicks. Final scoreone o seven to ninety five. They

down two at the half in thisone. Kawhi Leonard, though, got
things going in a big way.In the third Leonard chap step ripped through,
drive right out, bump, putit up. Oh how did he

(06:21):
do it? Kawai magic. Hejust threw it up like Wayne Knight in
Space jam after he got pumped uplike an air balloon, and somehow it
fell with a chance for three.Thought about the three on Robinson. Now
he will fire and he ties thegame. Gowhi Leonard connects sixteen for the
claw fifty five apiece Johnson left toright. Leonard stepping was straight away three,

(06:45):
but Cowhi Leonard connects again and theClippers have a lead time out in
New York. Backing down on Grimesforces it up and end from eighteen on

Leonard takes flight, crocious finish andthe Clippers leave by three seventy three seventy
with two thirty five to go.Shout out pitfall anyway, Kawhi with nineteen
points in the third quarter and inunder the radar big play Julius Randall,

(07:30):
letting some frustration boil over picking thatpicking up that technical to end the third
quarter and ended up giving the Clippersthree free throws instead of being down one.
Hitting into the fourth, they'd beup seventy six to seventy four over
the Knicks, and then it wasmore from Kawai to close things out.
George Loppett Jalin exent far side ona court, Leonard down the left alley

for the exclamation point at crypto dotcom. Arene. Now he's got thirty
eight points on a Saturday matinee showingof Clippers basketball as they lead one oh
six ninety five. That was yourfinalist. Kawai close things out with that

(08:33):
big throwdown. He had thirty eightpoints on fourteen of twenty two shooting win,
three of six from distance and sevenof seven from the free throw line.
Underrated fact, Kawhi Leonard has beenthe best three point shooter in the
league since January. The guy keepsgetting better. Clippers make it three straight.
They take down the Knicks, winby eleven, and now they got

(08:54):
three days off until they take onthe Golden State Warriors on Wednesday. More
on that coming up here in yourpostgame show on the Los Angeles Clippers Radio
Network. Oh, Paul George LAClippers basketball continue facing his pains as he
carries the three on the home ofyour LA Clippers. Clippers win one oh

(09:15):
six to ninety five over the NewYork Knickerbockers. Welcome back in this is
your postgame show. I'm Adam Oslin. Clippers end up shooting forty eight percent
from the field, just ten ofthirty from the outside. Doesn't matter even
with them getting beat up on theboards fifty four to thirty nine in favor
of the Knicks, who had twentyoffensive rebounds to just seven for your Los

(09:37):
Angeles Clippers. You hold a teamto thirty two of ninety from the field
overall, that's just thirty five percent. You're gonna win the majority of the
time. Clippers, after having sixturnovers by the way in the first quarter,
had just four the last three quarters. They were led by Kawhi Leonard.
He had thirty eight. Paul Georgehad twenty two. Off the bench,
Eric Gordon with ten points played greatdown the stretch in that fourth quarter,

(10:01):
closing line up once again for theClippers, and meanwhile, Emmanuel quickly,
Yeah, he got his twenty six. He's been playing great. He
may win six Man of the Year, but Julius Randall just nineteen points on
five of twenty four shooting. Afteraveraging twenty seven over his last ten games,
where he's been shooting forty nine percentfrom the field and thirty nine percent

(10:22):
from the outside. The Clippers holdhim to five of twenty four from the
field. Clippers win one oh sixand ninety five over the Knicks. Their
next one again coming up against theGolden State Warriors in three days. They're
taking them on on Wednesday night indowntown Los Angeles. Tip off for that

five with their defense. Is theyhold the New York Knicks to just ninety
five points and win one ozh sixto ninety five in downtown Los Angeles.

(12:09):
Welcome in a Clippers Talk after theymake it three straight victories eight seven seven

phone number if you'd like to geton on the Patriot AM eleven fifty when
after the Dodgers are on AM fiveseventy, we'll be on our sister station,
the Patriot AM eleven fifty Still tocome. You're gonna hear from Marcus
Morris post game, you'll hear fromthe head coach, and I believe Charles

(12:33):
Mockler from Clips and Dip will behere to join us as well. Kawhi
Leonard finishes with thirty eight points onjust twenty two shots, as the Clippers
didn't have a lot going themselves offensively. One oh six isn't a big number.
They didn't shoot it great from theoutside. They missed their first four

(12:54):
free throws and only attempt at sixteenat the charity stripe after the last two
going for thirty plus, but theymade enough plays down the stretch on the
defensive end, where they held theNew York Knicks is just twenty one points
in the fourth quarter when they scoredthirty and would end up winning by eleven.
Second straight game. Now, theClippers have looked like they've tightened things

(13:16):
up on the defensive end. Theytalked about the communication and practice and how
they had to be better there.Guys are rotating, guys are staying connected,
five guys on a string. It'sstarting to happen again. They're looking
more like that Clippers defense we sawthe first month or so of the season.
And it helps when you have aViza zubots back another twenty seven minute
output game in this one eight boards, excuse me, six rebounds, eight

(13:39):
points. But the way he patrolsthe paint, he makes a difference.
It's just the threat of having aguy like that, who's a great rim
protector in there that makes guys shyaway from attacking. And Julius Randol may
have had a career low type ofday five of twenty four from the field
against the Clippers, and I gota credit Marcus Morris. He played decent

(14:03):
defense on him. Kawhi Leonard didas well. They threw different guys at
him. Marcus I think had hisbest game though in a month or two.
Not just with his shooting where youhit a couple of three pointers early
in the first quarter, but thenone late in the fourth quarter to help
put this one away, but hewas moving his feet much better on the
defensive end. Coach Lew said he'dbe on Julius Randall. He was for

(14:24):
some of the time, and Ithought gave a really good effort on defense.
That's the Marcus Morris they need sometimesit Helston, you're going up against
your former team, just guess thejuice is flowing a little bit, the
competitive juice is flowing when you're takingon a former team that you used to
play for, that traded you tothe Clippers. And you know, in

(14:45):
this one, it looked like alot of Kawhi and Paul George until the
fourth quarter, where I thought otherguys started to make contributions, where Eric
Gordon had a really nice bounce passto Mason Plumley for a flush early in
the fourth He hit a three pointowner, a big one in the fourth
quarter. And this has been atrend Eric Gordon in closing lineups. We've

(15:05):
seen it three or four times now. And coach lou went away from starters.
Russell Westbrook played just twenty three minutes, didn't get in in the fourth
quarter, and he went with theguys who were playing well, and it
was Eric Gordon out there next toKawhi, Leonard, Paul George, Marcus
Morris and Avizza zu Bots. Thosewere closing core five out, not quite

(15:31):
five out with a vizza zoo bots, although we've seen him hint of three
be four. But those were yourfive out there on the floor, I
should say. And as much asthey needed everything they got from Kawhi Leonard
with those nineteen points in the thirdquarter when not a lot of other guys
had it going, I felt likethe Clippers cleaned up a couple of things
early on in the last three quartersof this one. Remember they started oz

(15:52):
four from the free throw line. They would hit their next twelve. They
finished twelve of sixteen at the charitystripe. They started to knock him down,
and after having six turnovers in thefirst quarter, they had just four
the final three quarters. So combiningthat with great defense, with guys digging
their heels in on that end,you get a result where you win by

(16:12):
eleven and a hold of team toninety five points. After holding the Toronto
Raptors to one hundred points on Wednesday, something has changed on that end,
and I've sent it a few timesnow, but I think it was a
blessing in disguise. They gave upthat fifty one spot in the third quarter
to the Memphis Grizzlies. They cameback to win that game down fifteen,

(16:34):
and I think that was their wakeup call. It's starting to look that
way because the Clippers defensively have beenmuch better since then. They were embarrassed
with that third quarter against Memphis wherethey just got whatever they wanted to win
ten of thirteen from the outside andhad a fifteen point lead hanging into the
fourth quarter. Since then, thisClippers team has looked much different defensively.

(17:00):
Else they gave up in a quarterand this one was thirty in the second
to the Knicks, but nineteen pointsin the first quarter, twenty five and
the third, twenty one in thefourth quarter, and only giving up ninety
five total for the ball game toa team that has been the second best
offense over the last fourteen games, including a nine game winning streak in there.
And now they've lost three in arow, and some frustration was boiling
over with Julius Randall getting into itwith I don't know if it was assistant

(17:23):
coach or a trainer there on thesidelines, but this Knicks team has now
lost three in a row. Ithought that was trouble coming into this one.
They lose the Charlotte, they loseto the Kings, I felt like,
Oh, they're gonna be primed totry to get back to their winning
ways. They've been playing great basketball. They're still thirty nine and thirty on
the season, but a Tom Thibodeauteam that was playing that well offensively is

(17:48):
very scary, and the Clippers holdingthem to ninety five. I just love
the attention to detail on the defensiveend right now from this Clippers team.
I said, other teams with defensiveissues, they don't necessarily have the personnel
to turn it around and find thatswitch to flip. The Clippers may have,

(18:11):
and it may have come because theygave up a fifty one spot in
the third quarter to the Memphis Grizzlies, only to come back and win that
game in a situation where no otherteam had done it all season long.
Teams were zero and two hundred andthirty nine entering fourth quarters down by fifteen
or more, and the Clippers cameback in that one. Was something born
out of that night. I stillthink time will tell. They got three

(18:33):
days off and these practices they've beengetting in obviously it's translated to end game
situations it's helped a lot, butalso the rest you can see more pop
and juice out there from Paul Georgeand Kawhi. Leonard Kawhi caught a lab
from Paul George. I want tosay it was. It was definitely second
half. I'm not sure if itwas end of the third or early in

(18:56):
the fourth quarter. I put itup on my Twitter count at follow Adam
May. Kawhi did have a dunkto end this one, to kind of
put the kapper and the bow onthis, but I loved seeing that transition
play. Yeah, it was forthree minutes left in the third quarter.
Paul George got out and was runningand Kawhi threw it down with two hands,
not just one hand. He hadto get up with both and was

(19:18):
hanging on the rim for a secondand kicking his legs out and swinging around
there. I loved seeing that theathleticism. After five dunks against his former
team in the Toronto Raptors on Wednesdaynight, Kawhi, I want to say,
had three dunks in this one. Both them playing with more force and
you can see it in the amountof points they've been scoring in the paint
recently. They had fifty points inthe paint tonight after having sixty against Toronto

(19:44):
on Wednesday night. That's a bignumber for them. They've been averaging just
forty four per game before the lastcouple, and you could see they had
thirty of those fifty points in thefirst half tonight, and you know what,
I believe they ended. Yeah,it was with fifty total. But
you'll take that against a Knicks teamthat has some big bodies in there,
and Mitchell Robinson and our old friendIsaiah Hartenstein some good battles between him and

(20:07):
Mason Plumley, who I thought hada good ball game overall. I know
he was just one of four, but he had a couple of blocks,
six points, four boards. TheClippers physicality had to be ramped up.
They had to meet this New YorkKnicks team with the way in the style
that they play. If they weregoing to be able to beat them,
you just have to start to playharder. And I've said it before,

(20:29):
but sometimes it's just that simple.Paul George said it after the Memphis game.
We just gotta play harder. Theyhave the personnel, they have the
roster to turn this thing around. And I really like what we've seen ever
since that fourth quarter against Memphis, you can start to talk about this team
turning the corner. Now. Ithink they beat the Golden State Warriors Wednesday
night, who struggle on the road. I want to say they're seven and

(20:52):
twenty six, but they do havestep back. We'll see if Andrew Wiggins
is back by then they take downthe Warriors and make it four in a
row. Then you got to say, Okay, something has changed with this
Clippers team. That five game losingstreak where they lost a couple of close
ones in ot another one point lostin the Kings, they started to battle
back. Now there's thirteen games leftin the regular season and they're three games

(21:14):
over five hundred, and they're stillroom to maneuver in the Western Conference standings.
I'll update you on those coming up. But while we have a moment,
let's pause ten seconds for station identification. Here on the Patriot AM eleven
fifty, this is LA Clippers BasketballAM eleven fifty k IB Los Angeles,
an iHeart radio station. It wasGordon to Aviza Zoobots. I believe actually

(21:37):
who had that throw down in thefourth Just want to correct myself there,
Big Zoo he's been needed this levelof big zoo where he is playing once
again, like he's got juice outthere, like he's recovered from that calf
injury, which apparently was a lotscary than anybody believed. He thought he
tore it, and I think hemeant he tore he Audi tours Achilles.

(22:00):
That was against the Phoenix Suns thelast game before the All Star break.
Obviously that didn't happen. Thank goodness. Their defensive anchor is back, and
coincidentally, Clippers defense looks to beback. Hassan and Anaheim, you're on
Clippers stop without Amas and what's upus on? How's it going, Adams?

(22:21):
What do you think of the ballgame? Two takes number one?
Let me be the first to Joeand welcome back Marcus Morris. Okay,
fair enough, I thought it washis best game in quite some time.
Yes, so welcome back Marcus Morris. I apologize that my frustrations got the

(22:42):
better of me. Glad to haveyou back. It's good. Good to
see Marcus Morris playing at a highlevel again. I'm with you as on
yes, second takeaway, glad tosee that I have no problem benching what
Brook because everyone thought that he wouldbe a problem if he got benched in

(23:03):
the four quarters. So that helpsa lot because he was smoking a lot
of layups. Russ didn't have agood game. This was the first game
as a Clipper where I'd say definitivelyhe had a bad game overall. You
mentioned those two miss layups, buthe had three turnovers as well. He
just had one of those days andthey didn't go back to him after the
third quarter, right, And sothis will show everybody and calm bent down

(23:27):
that tylu can bench Westbrook and itwon't be a problem. So that's my
take on the game to talking toyou. Have a good day, See
you Wednesday. All right, assnI appreciate it. Having said that,
a big congrats to Russell Westbrook. He moves up the all time assist leaderboard,
passes Isaiah Thomas. In the thirdquarter he caught Paul George on a

(23:48):
back door cut for an easy one, and now he's ninth all time as
he passes up the great Isaiah Thomas. In assists, Mitch and the Jersey
Mitch, what's up here on upstock without a Maslin him match? How's
you going to end? I loveall those trades, been a while since
they've spoken to you. Nice tohave the early game. I love the

(24:10):
pickups. What's going on with Bonesand I would say Gordon who should never
left being a Clipper. Gordon andMan they got CP three four. I
don't know if that was the worsttrade. Yeah, CB three. Uh,
he's still waiting for his first chanceshiptoo. But I think I don't
really think Phoenix. I think Demon'sgonna hear you failed. But I think

(24:32):
Man and Gordon is a nice backupbackcourt to get in there. What's going
on with Bones Highland? And I'mlooking forward to see if it's Kings and
Clips in the first round. Iwant to be in the top six.
That'd being awesome series. Yeah,I think, look, there aren't any
good options, and be careful whatyou wish for. But considering Sacramento doesn't

(24:52):
have playoff experience. They haven't madethe playoffs since two thousand and six,
longest playoff drought in North America insports, and they got a lot of
young guys there. I think outof the teams available, it's them in
the Memphis Grizzlies who you'd want tosee over teams like the Denver Nuggets and
the Phoenix Suns in the first round. If somehow you can get into a

(25:15):
series against the Dallas Mavericks. Iknow there's a lot of PTSD there from
what Luca Doncher has been able todo against the Clippers, but bottom line
is they beat them both times theyfaced him in the playoffs. Yes,
Kyrie Irving is there now, butthey just don't play a ton of defense.
They lost their best defender and DorianFinney Smith to bring in Kyrie Irving.
I think those will be the preferredoptions, you could say, but

(25:37):
there's no easy series in the Westwith how tight things are and talent wise,
there just isn't a huge gap.So yeah, it'd be nice to
see the Sacramento Kings, I thinkin the first round as opposed to some
of those other options. But Ican't be careful what you wish for.
You know, the Beam team wouldbe rocking up in NorCal if they saw

(25:59):
the Clippers. Clippers win one ohsix to ninety five over the Knicks,
they sweep the two game season series. Remember that game in New York where
Nicholas Batoum hit the three to sendhim into ot to get them a victory.
There about a month ago. Patumoh three from distance this time,
but you know it's more than that. He was still a plus five and
sixteen minutes. Clippers got huge productionfrom the two one three connection where those

(26:25):
two ended up combining for sixty asKawhi had thirty eight, Paul George had
twenty two and a thirteen point secondquarter. Clippers win one oh six and
ninety five more Clippers stop next hereon the Patriot AMBLYM fifty. Who is

(27:14):
phone number let's go to Damien inLa Damien. What's up here on Clippers
stock triple? Ay? Man,that's three in a row. Man,
here we go. I'm loving it. Clippers are making a move here,
and you know what, they've gottensome help in the standings as of late
two. So we'll update the standingsin a little bit here. But you
know, for once, it seemslike the Clippers are getting a little bit

(27:37):
of good luck a little bit right, we're finally getting the shamrock. Let
me know to some isle on it'sa little bit with you know, Saint
Patty's day coming up. You know, Morris had a great game. I
want to talk about plum Ly thoughI thought what plum Lely did today isn't
gonna show up in the stat line. But I think he did a really
good job in his role destensively. And I know we've talked about his role

(28:00):
defensively and what to expect from him. I think that if he can give
us that type of performance every night, you know, and backup Zoo,
and then Zoo can get his breather, come in and retch shop like he
does, we could be looking ata mean two headed monster there. Man.
So I'm real, you know,Juice about what I saw from the
team. To your point, Iwas actually talking to Brian Seaman at the

(28:23):
down there at the arena tonight.Look at you, you know, Marcus
Morris, great energy man, greatenergy, and I was happy to see
him have a better game. Missedyou at the game, bro, I
was looking for you after that. But you know, I'm real happy about
the way the guys came out andplayed. I will see you in Clibor
Nation there on Wednesday. Appreciate thephone called Damian. You mentioned Mason Plumley.

(28:47):
He had that big block on IsaiahHartenstein in the third quarter after he
missed a layup on the other end. Kind of made up for it there.
He was battling, He was doingwhat he could. He's not the
rent protector of Visa zubats this, but he gives your great effort. What
more can you ask for? Andhe has some skill set that offsets some
of what Big Zoo does. Theycompliment each other well because they have different

(29:10):
strengths and different weaknesses out there.I thought though it was a great pick
up at the time, it certainlyworked out. He played twenty minutes.
He had six points and four boardsand a couple of blocks overall. One
more before we hear from Marcus Morrispostgame Sean and Sean, hello are you?

(29:33):
I don't know? Take me offspeaker and I'll tell you. Okay,
okay, you hear me now,I hear you much better, Sean,
you want to sound good on theradio? What's up? Okay?
Great? Great? Great? Allright, So two couple of things here.
Looks like we have a chance tocatch Phoenix, but the number four

(29:55):
spy and another thing when you're talkingto the color I was just thinking,
it looks like injuries are catching upto the opponents now and the Clippers are
finally healthy. Knock on what,Sean, knock on wood. They're still
not healthy. Norm Palills still outfor at least another week. Well that's
the only thing. But they shoulddefinitely beat the Warriors. The words are

(30:18):
terrible on the road, seven andtwenty six on the road, twenty seven
and seven at home. So youknow, play that good defense and play
with confidence. We'll take the Warriorsand just make that momentum go. I'd
like to see him get about eightor nine in a road that would really
be nice. Yeah, they're playingbetter Kawai. You're surprising me when he's

(30:44):
the best three point shooter, saysJanuary. That's very very nice. He
may be the second or third bestnow, it's on so many attempts you
take. Of course, like guyswho have taken just one or two and
or two for two, he can'tbe better than one hundred percent. But
in terms of guys who have beenputting them up, and maybe I've taken
at least fifty since January, Ibelieve he's right there at the top of

(31:07):
the list of three point shooting. He's basically right underneath fifty percent, or
he might be there after going threeof six today against the New York Knicks
from three. Well, I liketo see what they've been doing defensively.
It looks like they're able to concentratebetter on the d on the double teams,
as well as being able to taketheir leading scorer or the other team

(31:30):
out of his just out of hisusual you know, activity, and just
make it uncomfortable for him. Sothat's a good way to go, and
hope they keep the good work up. All right, Sean, appreciate the
phone call. I know we'll talkto you on Wednesday. Glad you didn't
give up on this team. Huhme, who you what do you mean

(31:52):
gave up on the team? Youwant me up up the email? How
about my email today? You didn'tmention that at the pregame analysis. Yeah,
except they still got beat on theboards fifty four to thirty nine.
I mean, we all knew cominginto this one it was gonna be a
tall task against the New York Knicks. They had to compete with them on

(32:13):
the boards, and the Knicks hadtwenty offensive rebounds. Clippers still one though.
Bottom line, their defense was thatgood. Even though they got those
extra possessions, the Clippers clamped down. So Sean, I'll give you,
I'll give you a partial credit atleast. Okay, okay, but one
last thing, we do still haveto work on that last second shot when
we have the ball. We hadto just actually have better plays called Now

(32:35):
be happy, all right, Sean, appreciate the phone call. Those atos.
I think they've been pretty good withthem. But Sean disagrees in that
area. Let's hear from Marcus Morris, who I want to say, maybe
he had his best game of thenew year so far, hit two threes
in the first quarter, a bigthree in the fourth quarter, finished with
eleven points. But his defense wasgood, his feet were moving out there.

(32:58):
He just looked a little bit freshfor in those thirty one minutes on
the defensive end. And here hewas post game on Valley Sports with Teamie
Macio the season sweep of the NewYork Knicks. How'd you guys get it
done today? Play hard. That'sa good team over there. Just play
hard and we've got the win. It's good to see you getting those three
balls to go early. You hadanother big three late in the game.
This is now three wins in arow for the Clippers after a difficult stretch.

(33:22):
What corner have you guys turned? What have you guys figured out?
I was just playing a little harder. We had a couple of days of
practice, so we started to figureeach other guys out and getting a rhythm,
and you know it's turning into winsand you'll have a chance for a
few more days of practice after thisgame. Couple of days off, well
deserved rest. But thirteen games areleft in the regular season. It's a

(33:45):
very crowded Western Conference. How doyou guys approach these remaining thirteen We approached
as is a playoff games, onegame at a time and what time better
than now? And to get onthe street. There he was Marcus Moore's
post game on Ballet Sports. Clipperswin over his former team in the Knicks,
one oh six to ninety five. That ninety five number you love to

(34:07):
see it. Clippers gave up justone hundred points against the Raptors. Yes,
in this league, holding a teamto one hundred nowadays his an accomplishment.
I think the worst team in theleague averages one hundred and five or
something like that. Clippers make itthree straight. Coming back, we'll get
back to your phone calls eight sevenseven five two zero eleven fifty eight seven
seven five two zero eleven fifty. We'll also review some audio from Kawhi Leonard

(34:29):
who spoke post game Wednesday night andmade an interesting comment that was making the
rounds. I want to bring thatup as well. Coming up next,
Seria Clippers stalk on the Patriot emeleven fifty Oh. Paul George, La
Clippers Basketball continue face in his painsas he carries the three on the home
of your LA Clippers. Big winningClippers win one oh six to ninety five

(34:52):
over the New York Knicks and Queens. They win by eleven, and they've
made it three straight after losing fivestraight coming out of the All Star Break.
And I'm telling you that win overthe Memphis Grizzlies, coming back like
that in the fourth quarter, thatwas meaningful. Them giving up fifty one

(35:15):
in that third lowest point of theseason, they just look completely disconnected and
discombobulated on the defensive end. Sincethen, much better. They didn't give
up more than I want to say, twenty eight and a quarter against the
Toronto Raptors, and they don't giveup more than thirty in one quarter.

(35:35):
That was the Knicks high in thisone today, it was no just twenty
six for the Toronto Raptors. Thatwas the most they gave up in a
quarter. Remember they had those seventurnovers against Toronto and they were down by
seven after the first but the Raptorsonly had twenty five points, so they
stayed within striking different distance because oftheir defense. That's where it has to

(35:57):
be. But I think something mayhave changed after they outscored the Memphis Grizzlies
thirty eight to seventeen to come backdown fifteen to win that game. About
a week ago, only gave upseventeen points in that fourth quarter against Memphis.
Guys were rotate, guys were everywheredefensively, and since then, I

(36:19):
think the Stars in particular have beenleading on that end. They've been really
good there. But I like seeinga guy like Eric Gordon being in that
closing lineup because he can guard up, he can guard multiple positions too,
and also for ball security reasons. He had three assists to zero turnovers zero
two zero turnovers, and he's anotherplaymaker ball handler out there. It's just

(36:40):
a veteran presence to have next toKawai and Paul George late to close games,
along with of beats the Zubos.Who was in the game. Marcus
Morris was out there in this one. He hit a big three Clippers holding
a team to ninety five points. You'll take it, Morris and long beach.
Morris, what's up you're on clipperstHey, Adam, I need to

(37:01):
fact check some You know you hearsomething, but you ay sure about it.
You were speaking earlier about NBA historystuff like that in the fourth quarter
about teams fifteen points behind. Itwas just in this season teams that were
down fifteen heading into the fourth quarterwere zero and two hundred and thirty nine.

(37:22):
They had not come back down fifteenor more entering a fourth quarter this
season. No team had until theClippers did it against Memphis. You know,
lost your mind, Adam, zeroand what two hundred and thirty nine?
Wow? Man, I can't factcheck that because I'm gonna have to

(37:42):
take it. It's a fact.Take it to the bank. Trust me
on this one. Trust your boy. Come on, that's some crazy stuff,
Adam, Come on, but Iwant to taste them. I had
a little tune for you, butI couldn't get that the chesting out of
my mind. I want to tellyou them. The tune I had was,
they got to look Kawhi Leonard. It's got to look that fool gonna
be the MVP next year. I'mtelling you right now. He can do

(38:04):
whatever heck you want on the basketballcourt. And you know, when I
played basketball, wasn't no good.Everybody's plays of fun. But whoever had
the best players won the game. And the Clippers right now, they got
a bad They got a bad dudenow in Kawahi. I mean, you
know, we don't it's hard toremember how good he was. Now we're
seeing it the best player of thegame. Remember that left hand dunk.
He brought the ball down court rightand he would have done with the left

(38:27):
hand at him. That was somecold stuff. So I believe that the
Clippers got the best player in theleague right now because he ready to go.
So I'll see you on Wednesday.I had a little tune for you,
but I couldn't move past that number. You was talking about steel camping
pathtic. But anyway, these guysthey got to look, they got to
look at him. Hey, thatnumber was music two ears enough apparently,

(38:49):
all right, Morris, that's thatI appreciate you. Look Kawhi Leonard Now
since January seventh, The reason Igo to that point is that's when he
started playing regular minutes again. Sincethen, this is in twenty four games
including today, he's at thirty sevenminutes per game, getting twenty eight points

(39:12):
per game on fifty three fifty ninetyone splits. Those shooting splits being fifty
three percent from the field, fiftypercent from three, and ninety one percent
from the free throw line. That'swhere Kawai has been his last twenty four
games since January seventh. Now,dominant and just makes it look so easy

(39:35):
in the mid range. But someof the end ones he got when he
came back into the ball game justunder the seven minute mark of the fourth,
he had that tough move past.I want to say the blowby was
on Josh Hart, got fouled, got it to go. He had a
push shot. I want to sayit was in the third quarter where he
was fouled and just threw it upthere, a circus shot, got it
to go, but hit three threepointers. And Yes, of guys who

(39:59):
have taken fifty or more threes sinceJanuary, nobody's better than Kawhi Leonard from
the outside. He has shot fortynine point two percent. And I don't
think that counts today's game where hewas three of six fifty percent from the
outside, but forty nine point twopercent from three since January. Of guys
who have attempted at least fifty threepointers, nobody has been better at wait

(40:23):
son of a bitch, Nikola Yokich. Nobody who has attempted one hundred or
more three pointers since January, letme put a new qualifier in there,
has been better than Kawhi Leonard. How is this even possible. Yokich is
fifty two percent, but he's onlyattempted fifty two since January. Kawhi three

(40:45):
pointers he's put up since then onehundred and eighteen and he's at forty nine
point two percent. Here was coachlu post game after the Clippers win one
oh eight two. Let me getthere right, one o eight one hundred
was last game six ninety five todayover the Knicks, the biggest things are
defensively. I think those two guyslocking into the other team's best players and

(41:07):
taking that challenge. And so whenthey're playing at a high level defensively,
you know we're a different team.I thought we did a good job of
taking care of the basketball. Youknow, only ten turnover tonight, and
you know when we got Kawhie out, he played the whole third quarter to
start the fourth, I thought PGreally came in and offensively just kind of
took over the game and kind ofgive us a good cushion. And then

(41:28):
in that first half the Knicks grabbeda ton of offensive boards and got a
lot of points in transition. Whatchanged in the second half, Well,
we talked about it at halftime, and you know, my team shoots thirty
five percent from the field. They'regonna get some offensive rebounds, but the
ones that we gotta take care of. I thought we'd hit, you know,
Mitchell on a few of'em,but he's just so long and athletic,
you know, it's tough to getto him all the time. But
as long as we're making the rightplays or just making sure we hit bodies

(41:51):
and you know, not staring atthe basketball when the shot goes up,
and I thought we did a betterjob with it. In the second half
tie up before the game, Iasked you how you guys were and handle
Randall. He said, Marcus wasgoing to do a good job in there,
and but I think overall, youguys did a solid job five of
twenty four shooting. Just talk aboutthe job that you guys did. Guardian
brand I thought Marcus just being physicalwith him early, you know, kind

(42:13):
of got him frustrated a little bit, and then our shrinks defensively, I
thought we were you know, wedidn't leave him on an island by myself.
We were digging in and out,you know, cat and mouse,
getting in and out, and soI just try to keep him all balanced
as much as we could. Andthe when he spun baseline, we had
Mason Zoo on the baseline, youknow, waiting for him. So when
you didn't want a guy like youknow, random, we can score the
basketball. And he's a tough cover, you know, so he's got to

(42:34):
just mix up the coverages on himand try to keep him all balanced.
And I thought we did that tonight. There was Coach lou postgame Clippers win
by eleven over the next final scoreone oh six to ninety five. Coming
up, I got some interesting KawhiLeonards sound for you. Okay, have
guys who have attempted one hundred. It's unbelievable. He's turning into a splash

(42:54):
brother. I told you guys thisthough. The one thing when you're out
with the lower body extremity injury youcan work on you're shooting. We still
may see the best version of KawhiLeonard off of two major injuries in his
career this season, and you knowhe saves the best for last in the

(43:16):
playoffs. More Clippers stock next hereon the Patriot EM eleven fifty, who
is blocked by George This is LAClippers basketball. He is a one man
kra defensive man. On the homeof your LA Clippers. Clippers win one
oh six to ninety five over theNew York Knicks. They have won three
in a row currently, and there'ssome games coming up later tonight that could

(43:38):
affect this. But the Clippers arein the five spot. They are three
and a half games back. Yeah, of the Phoenix Suns who are in
the fourth spot. Phoenix is takenon the Sacramento Kings later tonight. The
Memphis Grizzlies, who are in thethree spot Sacramento on the two are taken
on the Dallas Mavericks in the sixspot behind the Clippers who are in the

(44:00):
five spot. Are you following mehere, camera guy? So here's what
I think you'd like to see,and it would be this something I brought
up earlier. Phoenix continues to win, the Clippers continue to win, obviously,
and Memphis loses and the Clippers endup catching them in the four or

(44:22):
five matchup. You would take thatbecause of four or five matchup against the
Phoenix Suns with Kevin Durant supposedly beback by the playoffs or by the end
of the regular season, but whoknows. That freaky ankle injury it was
very unfortunate. He had what inthe layup line or in pregame shoot around.
It was just unbelievable to see.But I think Memphis obviously better options

(44:45):
than Phoenix with Kevin Durant in thefirst round. But we'll see. You
can only do so much scoreboard watchingand looking at standings, and there's still
thirteen games left to be played. But I wanted you to hear this from
Kawhi Leonard. This was Wednesday nightafter their win against the Toronto Raptors in
this former team where he had fivedunks. Here he was post game and

(45:07):
speaking with the media. Listen tothis. Why you kind of talked about
in these last games that they allstart bringing up in one possession here or
there for maybe this being much different, these games going differently. Now you
got some momental women, what haveyou seen? And this this new team
with all these new pieces, thatkind of makes you believe you guys can't
make that deep run into playoffs likemany people expect you guys do. I

(45:28):
mean, our heads are still high, you know, even when we lost
those games, Uh, you know, we're still confident in ourselves. So
and then I'm on the floor andyou know, whenever I'm playing, I
feel like we gole Main. I'min a basketball game, and I think
everybody else feels the same way.Whenever I'm playing, I feel like we
can win a basketball game. Ohthat's that superstar confidence. That's that quiet

(45:52):
killer confidence that Kawhi Leonard has run, silent, run deep. He is
the machine out there. He isso good and has mastered the game on
so many levels, the top seventyfive player of all time. But here
in a different level of energy thanwe typically hear post game. This is
the type of stuff that was onlyrumored to be heard. Like went against

(46:14):
the Milwaukee Bucks when he was playingfor Toronto in twenty nineteen the Eastern Conference
Finals and they were down two ohoand Nick Nurse was talking about all these
adjustments they're gonna make, and Kawhiapparently stood up in the locker room is
said, here's the adjustment. I'mgarden Jannis, that's what's happening. And
they would win four straight and heheld under forty percent the next four games.

(46:36):
That's what that reminded me of.It gives you confidence. The Clipper
nation, so is this they've wonthree in a row. They got three
days off. They're taking on GoldenState back in downtown Los Angeles on Wednesday.
Before we get out of here,I do want to thank the Clippers
organization, Noah Eagle, Brian Seaman, Ralph Lawlor, big Brother, Jake
Warner, the callers, the listeners, Katie Newton, our producer here in

(46:57):

wors with their pregame show starting atsix. I mean, I'm awesome.
