(00:00):
The game is over. Paul Georgemoney in the pain, but the postgame
reaction has just be gone. GohiLeonard is so smooth in the mid range.
This is Clippers locker Roo, arecap of today's game and a look
ahead on your home for La Clippersbasketball at now your host, You,
sir, are a bad man,Adam Oslin. Clippers returned home to fall

(00:25):
one ten to one, all foursto the Dallas Mavericks and Kyrie Irving.
Welcome into your post games show.Coming up, we'll get to your final
box score. You'll hear from thehead coach and the players after this one,
but first we get back to yourvoice at the Clippers in Noah Eagle.
You know, no, I don'tsay it very often, but this
felt like a game that may havebeen lost in the first quarter where the
Clippers got down by nineteen and hadto battle back or ice skating uphill.

(00:49):
You could say you brought it up. Yeah, it just it just wasn't
the urgency that they needed to startthe game. Where then part of it
was that Dallas just shot the lightsout in that first quarter. They couldn't
miss from three. Reggie Bullock wentfive for five in the first quarter from
three and then went one for seventhe rest of the game, so you
know, the law of averages doeskind of bounce back. But overall,
Dallas still shot at seventeen to thirtyfive from three, and if they're gonna

(01:11):
do that without Luka don Chiz,it's gonna be hard to beat them,
especially with Kyrie irving and closing time. We saw some of the finishes that
he had. You know, it'sa tough loss for the Clippers. There's
no really beating around the bush inthis one. And now this next twenty
four hours are really less than that. Next twelve hours is going to be
fascinating. LA is going to haveto make some decisions, figure out what

(01:32):
they want to do if they wantto roll with the roster they've got.
But the trade deadline is always aninteresting time around the NBA, and the
Clippers being one of the teams thatbelieve they can win a title this year,
certainly with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, they're gonna have to take a
good, long, hard look inthe mirror and figure out what makes the
most sense. But the pieces arein place, no doubt about it.
It's just about playing the right wayon a consistent basis, and who was

(01:53):
saying it beats the Zubot's last game, Nick Batombs talked about it. The
consistent effort has to be there, and the first quarter it just really wasn't.
And even more bizarre, Kawhi Leonardtook just four shots in that first
half. Now he made up forit in the third quarter at thirteen points
there, but ends up with justtwelve shot attempts in the night. Yeah,
a little surprising from Kawhi just didn'treally look like his assertive self,

(02:15):
certainly early in the game and oneof the two of the two on three
connection. It's felt like they've donea really good job of late during this
more recent winning streak. Let's callit not a full winning streak, but
had one eight of ten games comingin and eight of nine with the two
of them on the floor, they'vedone a really good job of one of
them stepping up in the first quarterto set the tone, and it felt

(02:37):
like they didn't have that today andthey got pulled early. Terrence Man actually
was the one who did it,but at some point that well dries out.
Man finishes with twenty one points twelveof them in the first You know,
it's a disappointing loss, it reallyis, and I think that Peg
and Kawai will certainly feel like theycould have done more. I think that
the Clippers defensively in that fourth quarterjust didn't do enough. And then Tim

(02:59):
Hardaway Junior hits that dagger three. You know, if they get that one
more stop, you say, okay, you can make it a one possession
game. And then you play thefree throw game and anything is possible.
And we've seen crazy things, butit just wasn't meant to be tonight.
Sometimes that's the case, to makeher miss league and Clippers miss tonight.
Kyrie Irving finishes with twenty four pointsin his debut as a Dallas Maverick.
He did make an impact late.He hit that tough fade away over Kawhi

(03:22):
Leonard, who got him back witha block the next time down. But
yeah, in a game where hejust has twenty four, I thought he
might be gunning for forty in thisone in his premiere. But the Clippers
lose one ten to one oh fourhere in downtown Los Angeles, coming off
the six game road trip. Theyreturn home not a safe haven tonight.
They'll get back after it though,on Friday against a team they just saw

(03:43):
in the Milwaukee Bucks. Looking forsome revenge. Look, they couldn't pull
it off against the Denver Nuggets, but this is a chance for redemption against
Milwaukee. This is a huge gameFriday. They need it, Honestly,
they needed for a variety of reasons, but the main one probably confidence,
believing that you can compete with thetop of the top up in the NBA.
Tip time is at seven thirty. We'll have Clippers countdown for you starting
at six thirty. Noah, okay, noah, okay, great to see

(04:08):
it. We'll see it back here. I'm care wait at him. I'm
ready to go already, let's getback to it. Coming up your final
box score. Clippers fall by sixto Kyrie Irving and the Dallas Mavericks.

(04:53):
You can also reach me on Twitterat follow Adam A. Dallas ends
up shooting fifty three per from thefield, but they go seventeen of thirty
five from distance. That's forty ninepercent. After that hot start where they
were nine of thirteen from three inthe first quarter and they put a forty
one spot on the Clippers in theopening twelve minutes, they scored just forty

(05:16):
points and the next two quarters combined. The Clippers defense was better but not
good enough late where Dallas scored twentynine points in the fourth quarter some more
big three pointers. Penston hit acouple, went two of two and the
fourth from distance, and then TimHardaway Junior with a dagger three as he
was four of nine from the outside. Kyrie Irving, in his debut as

(05:38):
a Maverick, had twenty four pointsfor the Clippers, They were led by
Norman Powell. He had twenty fourhimself eight of seventeen from the field,
but their two stars, Paul Georgejust twenty points Kawhi Leonard just eighteen.
But the number that sticks out tome attempted just twelve, just twelve shots

(05:59):
in this ball game, and fourof those came in the first half.
It was bizarre. Clippers got offto a slow start and Dallas got off
to a fast start and close fastin the end, they win one ten
to one oh four. As theClippers return home off the six game Grammy
road trip to a loss, theylose by six of the Mavericks. Coming
up next, we're preview Friday night'sgame right back here. Clippers taken on

Coach Lou and the players. PlusChuck will be here. Charles Mockler from

(09:05):
Clips and Dip. We talked abouta postgame with Noah Eagle. I thought
this was a game that was lostin the first quarter by the Clippers,
who just came out absolutely flat.I said, key to the ball game.
They can't have a road trip hangover. I've seen it before with this
squad. I've seen it with otherteams. You come back from a long

(09:28):
road trip and you just don't lookright that first game. Now, typically
you got two days off before youplay after a long road trip like that.
They had one day off. Wouldhave thought it'd be enough, though,
for them to not give up fortyone points in the first quarter.
Another first quarter where the opposition shotthe lights out Brooklyn. Remember they were

(09:52):
eight for twelve in the first quarteragainst them on Monday in Brooklyn. Tonight,
Clippers come back home. The Mavericksgo nine for thirteen in the opening
quarter from three just hot shooting.Reggie Bullock started five of five from the
outside. He couldn't miss anything, and the Clippers made it easier on them

(10:15):
by just missed assignments and poor defensiverotations along the perimeter. There were open
three pointers. Not all three pointersare created equal there's a difference between a
guy being in front of you andnot and that stuff is actually categorized now
on NBA dot Com. You canlook at it. There's wide open threes,
and there's open threes, and therewere a lot of wide open threes,

(10:37):
not a guy within six plus feetof the shooter. So the Clippers
let them get into a groove offensivelyearly on, and then even when their
defense was much better, where aftergiving up forty one points in that first
quarter, they give up just fortycombined over the second and third, and
the Clippers were down just three headinginto the fourth. But I think they

(11:01):
started to run out a little bitof gas and the Stars didn't have it
tonight for whatever reason. This isone of the oddities of the season.
Kawhi came out in the first halfand attempted just four shots. He didn't
make his first field goal till aboutthe three minute mark of the second quarter,
but taking just four, he endsup taking twelve, finished seven or

(11:26):
twelve. So he got hot eventuallyin that third quarter where he at thirteen
of his eighteen points, but that'sjust not enough. He only plays thirty
two minutes. Paul George plays thirtythree and we just saw this post game.
But Kawhi Leonard and this is comingfrom Justin Russo at Fly by Night,
Clippers reporter, Kawhi Leonard and PaulGeorge will see their minutes reduced and

(11:50):
cut a little bit as the teamheads into the All Star break. So
a few more games where they're notgonna hit I'm gonna in the forty minute
mark. We'll see if they hitthe thirty five minute mark. But in
a game where there's no Luca donChich and Dallas is playing for their first
time with Kyrie Irving out there onthe floor, for them to look like

(12:13):
the team that had been together longer, it's just bizarre. I mean,
Irving had twenty four, not ahuge game, didn't hit his average.
He did hit a tough fade awayover Kawhi and the fourth quarter late.
Kawhi blocked him the next time down. But that sense of urgency from the
Clippers you felt to kick in defensivelynot till the third quarter, really,

(12:37):
where after the first time out theylooked a little bit different. On that
end, Kawai and Paul George trappedand got a steal on Kyrie Irving.
Of beast, the Zoobots had ablock, Kawhi was rolling. He had
ten straight at one point for theClippers and the third. But I've told
y'all season long people ask me theiridentity. They are consistently inconsistent game to

(13:01):
game, quarter to quarter, possessionto possession with just being locked in and
focused. And what twenty four gamesremaining is that who they are at this
point is something going to change.Could the next few hours heading into the
trade deadline, which is at twelvepm Pacific tomorrow changed things for them?

(13:24):
I don't know, but this iswho they've been. And even though they
had won eight of their last ten, we told you there were problems in
there. They still weren't playing greatbasketball. They hadn't peaked yet, which
tells you the talent on this teamthat they could still win while not playing
great and going in and out ofplaying quality basketball within games. But eventually

(13:46):
that stuff burns you against quality competition. Because what happened against Chicago and Atlanta,
where they faltered down the stretch andgot away with it and won those
games. Anyways, it didn't workagainst Milwaukee when they were up twenty one,
when they unraveled it led to aloss against a good ball club,

(14:11):
and tonight they just didn't look tobe engaged enough. That energy that you're
hoping to see, we saw itin the third quarter. But it can't
just be for a quarter or afew minutes here and there and scattered like
that. If you listen to thepregame show after the victory over Brooklyn on

(14:35):
Monday to end the road trip wherethey went four and two successful road trip,
Grammy road trip is tough, hesaid. Basically, they were sporadic
with their play and consistency where they'renot putting together complete games for forty eight
minutes. Tonight certainly underscored that pointand Dallas won because of it. And

(14:58):
even and though they didn't remain shootingthat hot from the outside, after hitting
nine three pointers in the first quarter, they'd hit just eight the last three
quarters. They might have won offa couple of three pointers made in the
fourth Tim Hardaway Junior or Dagger three. I thought Penson, who hit a
really tough fall away three pointer earlyin the fourth quarter, I think I

(15:20):
put him up ten. That wasbrutal. He went two of two from
three and the fourth and when theClippers finally started to really ratchet up the
defensive intensity, and you saw Kawaion Kyrie and they were trying to get
him off of him, and they'dset a screen and try to get the
switch with Marcus Morris, but they'dtry to double Kyrie, but Dallas always

(15:45):
found the open man when they weredoubling, and they got a couple of
easy layups. Powell had one.I think Tim Hardaway Junior had another.
They made him pay. Just seeingthe Clippers, though, all of a
sudden, bring that intensity, itwas jarring because where was that earlier in
the ball game and why did ittake so long for them to get there.

(16:07):
But it's been like this all seasonlong, where they go in and
out of playing really good basketball tolackluster basketball. Just the inconsistency. They
are consistently inconsistent. You have tosay, that's what we've seen from this
team for the most part this season, and tonight it's one of the most
disappointing losses of the year. Comingoff a four and two road trip,

(16:32):
you're back home. You think there'dbe some energy coming out tonight on opening
tip with the crowd behind them underneaththem, but Dallas was hitting shots early
and outside of Terrence Man, whohad twelve points in that first quarter,
nobody else was joining him. Andthe two stars Kawai and Paul George weren't
good enough. Neither had more thantwenty points. That's a little bit alarming.

(16:57):
Clippers lose one ten to one fourto the Dallas Mavericks. Let's start
things off with rex In La rexR on Clipper stock without Amazin Adam.
I'm about to give you a hottake right now. It's coming up to
the trade that line like you keepsaying, you've been inconsistent for honestly since

(17:18):
we have gotten quiet and Paul Georgewould be go all the way back to
the past three years. You tryto rectify that situation with getting point guards
or the leaders like let's say Rondoor John Wall or Earth but so and
you think about it. One thingthat was in common with all these guards
none of them could shoot or noneof them are good shooters. I think

(17:41):
that's the best time that we getsomeone. Sounds like you've been listening to
me because I've talked about it prettymuch every night recently. The difference is,
Yeah, those guys not great shooters. They can't play off the ball
or be that effective off the ballwhere some of the names that have been
thrown out there now some of thepossibilities. Yeah, those guys much better
shooters, and they're going to haveto be. I think if they do

(18:03):
make a move for a guard,it's going to be somebody that can play
off of Kawai and Paul George andI just wanted to add one extra thing,
a hot take, who they cantrade for, because you talk about
inconsistency. They need someone who isgoing to keep not just the world players,
but the stars and keep them, you know, consistent. Two guys

(18:25):
come to my mind, Chris Pauland Draymond Green. I know these are
two quite the hot takes, andChris Paul's probably not even a reality,
but I don't know. They needsomeone who's going to change the entire way
this team's identity is because, likehe keeps saying, it's inconsistently inconsistency.
Right now, all right, Rex, I appreciate the phone call. Yeah,

(18:47):
those are definitely hot takes. BecauseChris Paul coming back to the Clippers
with the contract that he has, that would be very difficult to facilitate.
Same with Draymond Green and his contract. But do I think there's gonna be
a move made by the trade deadlinetomorrow? Yeah, I'm sure there will
be. How big or substantial,I don't know. But this team is

(19:11):
underperforming too often at times, andit's just confounding because you see their potential
when they lock in, when theydo have that focus, when they do
look sharp out there. They're theteam that we thought they'd be coming into
this season, but it comes andgoes. Let's go with Mike in La,

(19:36):
Mike, what's up your on Clipperstock without I'm astin. Hey,
Adam, you know, I kindof wish the Clippers could have pulled off
the trades of the Lakers pulled offtoday. They got younger, they got
more, they got faster, meantreally ultimately what the Clippers need even you

(19:56):
know, I know we've talked about, you know, the need for a
point guard and the point guard thatcan playoff of you know, PG and
Kauai. That's just when you know, you look at this team, they
just they feel so luggish so muchof the time, and they're an older
team. It's it's a fact,I think place of their advantage when the
game slows down in a playoff series. But you still got to get there

(20:19):
first, and there's twenty four gamesleft, and with the way things are
in the Western Conference, every loss, every win is so crucial. I
mean, they're you know what teamI think out of the play a tournament.
I think after tonight lost there inthe sixth seed or in like a
game away from a game out frombeing in the play it all Right tournament.

(20:40):
You know, I actually thought tonight'sgame would have been a good opportunity
for someone like a mirror Poppy, just to you know, a guy who
hasn't played much, but who hasyou know, really over the course of
his career played well in meeting fulNBA game well. Coachler definitely tried some
things. Musa Diabatte was out therein the first half. He try to
shake things up to find some energy. Some of the doc rivers always used

(21:03):
to say, how do you findthat lineup that brings that energy and turns
a game back in your favor andyou recapture that momentum. But it didn't
really happen. That's a good pointwith Musa. Yeah, tried. I
appreciate the phone call, Mike. You made some good ones as well.
Yeah, Clippers in that sixth seed. Now Dallas is in the fourth seed.

(21:26):
They just flip flopped and the Clippersare a game up on the seventh
seed, which means a game outsideof the playing tournament. Just a game
up on the New Orleans Pelicans.Tough one tonight. More Clippers dock coming
up next after they fall one tento one oh four to the Dallas Mavericks.
We'll get back to your phone callseight six six nine eight seven two

(21:47):
five seventy eight six six nine eightseven two five seventy as the phone number
well here from Coach Low and CharlesMacker will be here as well. You're
listening to say am five seventy lsports. Oh, it's blocked by George.
This is LA Clippers basketball. Heis a one man king Crawl,
the defensive man on the home ofyour LA Clippers. Frustrating night for Clipper

(22:07):
nations. The Clippers come back home, just lose to Kyrie Irving in his
debut for the Dallas Mavericks one tento one oh four. Irving had twenty
four four more points than Paul George, six more points than Kawhi Leonard.
Norman Powell did have twenty four offthe bench for or A. Ten of
those came in the fourth quarter forthe Clippers, but not enough. They
lose by six. Welcome back inthe Clippers stock. I'm out of Oslin.

(22:32):
Coming up, we'll have Charles Mackleron and you'll hear from the head
coach in sharn Lou Before we getback to your phone calls. Let's pause
ten seconds for station identification here onM five seventy LA Sports. This is
LA Clippers Basketball, A five seventyKLAC Los Angeles, ninety eight seven KYSR
HD to Los Angeles and iHeart radiostation Wallace and Plia del Rey, who

(22:55):
had the pleasure of meeting tonight herein downtown Los Angeles. Wallace, how
you feeling about this all? Oh, thank you. Kyrie's super good.
I'm just really impressed with him.But I don't think the Clippers should make
any trades. I still love theClippers. The only thing I see is
I don't see Cannard being integrated intothe offense. I see him standing around,

(23:19):
and I think, in this league, and you know, twenty twenty
three, you've got a player likethat who I really like, Leonardo A.
Canard rather a lot, and Ithink you gotta look at tron lew
And if I think if the Clippershave shortcomings this year, you've got to
look at the coach. I thinkthere's no other place to look, no

(23:41):
trades. I see the most talentedteam in the league, Wallace. I
appreciate the phone call. You know. Luke Kennard has been out of the
rotation some. He just played fiveminutes tonight, and he's been struggling since
he came back the second time fromthe cafe injury. He hasn't looked like
him self. He's been even lessaggressive out there, and even when he

(24:03):
has taken shots, I think hewas one for six Monday against Brooklyn.
They tried to get him going,he had some good looks, he couldn't
get him to go. It's beenlike that since he's returned pretty much.
Lucanard has just been in a shootingslump, a deep one for his standards,
especially Javier and Lahabra heights. Javier, you're on Clipper stock. What's

(24:25):
up? Javier? I mean, what's up that? I think you were
taking my call getting like you andNova Annoy Eagle said, you can't start
the game like that. I meanthey lost the gaar on the first quarter.
I mean, you're down nineteen pointsin the first quarter. I mean,
that's that's that's hard to do.To get down nineteen in the opening

(24:45):
twelve minutes, that's not easy.Yeah. I mean you can say whatever
you want to have, Like DocRivers when he was forcing the Clippers,
and you know, he had togo like at least he had to Klippers
ready to play every game. Hehe canning close the games, but he's
hand ready to play. And tyLou he's the opposite. It always come

(25:07):
on flat and that's on the coaching. So at this point, hey,
there were plenty of games when theClippers came out flat on twelve thirty starts
on a weekend, hundred Doc Riversas well. I gotta at least point
that out. Yeah oh yeah thosegames, yeah, those call clock games.
Yeah yeah, but I mean itjust I mean, and like the
other college said, I don't knowwhat's going on with Lukeinnard, but I

(25:30):
mean I'm just kind of disappointed.I Mean, I know he got his
injury, but man, he worriedfor five to sixty minutes and empty kelis
we were just running around doing nothingbut my last point here I talked to
you last time and through the wholeyear from tanyo, Marcus Morris. If
we didn't win the championship, thechampionship with Marcus Morris, you got nothing

(25:52):
in coming at him again, onefor eight, four rebounds, all those
thoughts at him in the beginning ofthe game, with Richie Bullocks shooting those
three Who's who's guarding him? MarcusMorris, Yeah, Marcus Morris had a
rough one. If we got totrade Marcus Morris birth two movie tickets,

(26:15):
popcorn and the printer something. Alright, let's not be too disrespectful here,
Javier. He's done great things forthe Clippers. I appreciate the phone call,
though, eight sixty six ninety eightseven two five seventy eight sixty six
ninety eight seven two five seventy. It was a disappointing performance from him from
a lot of guys, because youknow, the MAVs turned the ball over

(26:37):
eighteen times in just the last threequarters. They weren't great in terms of
just getting their shots up because theywere their own worst enemy at times,
and the Clippers did get some deflectionsand they had their opportunities. Clippers turned
that into just thirteen points though eighteenturnovers. In the thirteen points, you
want at least a point per turnover. They were below that. That's tough.

(27:02):
Clippers get up eight more shots thanthe Dallas Mavericks. Doesn't matter,
they still lose by six. Let'sgo to Sean and Inglewood. Sean,
what's up, hey, Boddy? How you don't can you hear me?
I got you? Sean? Okay, great, Well listen to Adam.
First of all, I just havetwo points I want to make. The

(27:23):
first one is whatever they have todo to change, whatever they do their
rootsine they get going. They justcame out. They come up to many
times extremely flat, with the energyjust being just almost negative. It was
just like, oh, well,we gotta play a basketball game. It's

(27:45):
not exciting, you know. Itwas just it was so blog say that
by the time they realize that, okay, we're nineteen points down, you
know. But the other thing Iwanted to talk about is that there were
times they did get turnovers. Theyin that third quarter, they got a
bunch of turnovers. They hand fivefast breaks, and now the trend as

(28:07):
somebody goes in the corner and shootat three instead of getting a high percentage
lay up and getting filed, andso they were about four times they did
that. I think they were justabout to take the lead and they pop
it out to somebody that bricks upat three and it doesn't go in where
you would have got a m oneor at least filed at least three out
those four times, and so totoo many times, and everybody does it

(28:33):
in the NBA now where they're takingthat lower percentage shot even though if a
wide open three is a two twoand the pain is still better as far
as percentage wise. And I thinkthey got lulled into doing that because Dallas
was hitting a lot of three. So it's a very disappointing loss there.

(28:53):
I mean there's things as that couldbe pointed here, there and everywhere.
I'm not going to do that.I think Zoo was on the board to
like crazy in the first quarter.I hate seeing Zoogle out of the game.
And I also think that Jill McGeehad a period when he blocked him
out four or five shots and thatactually also had an effect. All what's

(29:17):
your what's your take on it?Man? Yeah, McGee was good in
his six minutes. He had threeblocks, of eats. The Zoobots overall,
I thought really made an impact inthe second and third quarters. He
finished with nine and ten. Ithought they still could have got him more
involved offensively. Kauai got it tohim with some intent and he got to
and and one play. Look,if you got wide open three pointers,

(29:41):
it may be a lower percentage, but some of those guys on wide open
three shoot forty six percent. Someshoot fifty percent, and it's worth an
extra point. So this is avery good three point shooting team Sean.
When they're not falling, it's tough. They still shot thirty six percent.
That's not awful. That's a littlebit below what they shoot on the season.

(30:04):
But they missed one. It wasNicholas Batoum who missed a good look
in the fourth. Paul George misseda good look early in the fourth when
Dallas was starting to build up adouble digit lead again, And those were
shot that they had to have becauseDallas was getting them. On the other
end. You talk about three pointshooting, well, Dallas was making nurse.
That was a huge difference in thisballgame. All right, eight six

(30:26):
six ninety eight seven two five seventyeight six sixty nine eight seven two five
seventy is the phone number coming up. Back to your phone calls, and
we'll hear from Charles Mockler from Clipsand dip. Clippers lose one ten to
one O four to Kyrie Irving andthe Dallas Mavericks. We didn't have look
at nonstage in this one disappointing loss, to say the least, coming off

(30:48):
that successful four and two road tripfrom the Clippers. This is Clippers sock
here on em five seventy l sports, Oh, Paul George, La Clippers
basketball continue Pikes in its face ashe carried the three on the home of
your LA Clippers. Welcome back atthe Clippers talk after they fall one ten
to one O four to Kyrie Irvingand the Dallas Mavericks, and the Hits

(31:11):
keep on coming, Clibernation, listenup closely. Sham Sharania of The Athletic
is reporting that the Brooklyn Nets aretrading Kevin Durant to the Phoenix Suns for
a package including Michael Bridges, CamJohnson, four first round picks, an

(31:33):
additional draft compensation, meaning they didn'thave to give up Eton or Booker or
CP three, and Kady is backin the Western Conference and back in the
Pacific Division. Who that it's amajor bobshell dropping here as we are just

(31:53):
about fourteen hours away from the tradedeadline. Welcome back into for Stock.
I'm at a Moslin. Joining theshow right now post game is Charles Mockler
from Clips and Dip. Charles, the floor is yours. You want to
react to the Kevin Durant news.I don't know how to react to the
Kevin Durant news. Adam. Iwish he wasn't in the Western Conference.

(32:20):
I think part of this is I'mfrustrated because the Clippers they have not made
some move to this point that peoplewho wanted them to make the team.
You know, we saw some ofthe same issues that we've been played with
all season happened again tonight against theMavericks team that didn't have Luca Dodger.
It's sure they had Kyrie Irving, but they didn't have Luka Dodger. They
didn't have their two best defenders. And we just keep seeing the same thing

(32:45):
from the Clippers. So I don'tknow. I guess you know, the
Sun Depp takes a hit, forsure, but when you have Jander eight
and Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, and even this version of Chris Paul.
You're still going to be a prettygood basketball team. But you know a
lot of people are saying in thePacific Division is the best in basketball,
and now it just keeps getting betterand maybe the best in sports after this.

(33:07):
Jay Crowder is also a part ofthe deal. He'll be heading back
to who are hitting the full resetbutton after losing Kyrie Irving who had twenty
four against the Clippers tonight as amember of the Dallas Mavericks. Yeah,
I thought, you know, consideringwhat was at stake and where they dropped
in the standings because of this lossto the Dallas Mavericks, and with just

(33:29):
twenty four games left, this wasone of the toughest, most difficult,
frustrating losses of the season. Forthose reasons. You bring up Charles where
they're still dealing with the same inconsistencyout there on the floor and I'm not
sure why a first half where KawhiLeonard only takes four shots is just bizarre
to watch. But they came outflat and gave up forty one points in

(33:51):
the first quarter to Dallas. Andthis is a team that has been known
for getting off to slow starts, but lately those comebacks are coming up short
quite often this season than maybe inyears past. Are you seeing the same
thing? Yeah, It just likeI feel like we're still at game one

(34:12):
almost right Like we're there's a minuterestriction now on a PG and Kauai kind
of because of the fact that weplayed such a short rotation over this road
trip, you know, these EasternConference teams and stuff like that. I'm
kind of all out of things toreally kind of say what the issues are
with the Clippers, because it's nothingnew. You know, we're still not

(34:34):
Dee and Robert Cunnington. Luke Kennard, he's kind of, you know,
seems like a shell of his formerself. And PG and Kawai just couldn't
get it done tonight, right,Like, it's not that they should have
played more. They just weren't verygood tonight. And we've seen that happen
a little more often recently, andit just it's just tough. Even during
the wind streak, there wasn't,you know, really an identity formed or

(34:58):
anything like that. We haven't seena stretch of play where this team looks
like the best team in the NBA, we've only seen it in shifts,
so I mean something's coming in thenext twelve hours. I would have to
assume if it's Westbrook on a buyoutand Christian Wood for Reggie Jackson, I
guess we'll just keep our heads downand keep going forward. But it's getting

(35:20):
a little frustrating now, and it'sstill it's pretty incredible that you know,
there's only twentieth games left from theseason to go. What position do you
think is more important for the Clippersto strengthen their backcourt or their front court.
I think it's got to be thebackcourt. We saw Reggie Jackson with
just the terrible entry pass turnover today. Guys are exhausted. Paul George can't

(35:45):
run point like we need right now, you know, And I just don't
know. It feels like it's fiftyone to forty nine in terms of importance.
If I'm being out street because weneed someone to play take up some
minutes for Zoo, and we mightneed someone to give Marcus morriser break.
There's no reason for Marcus Morris tobe playing thirty minutes and pursue and not

(36:06):
be closing in a game like this. When the rim is just wide open.
So yeah, I'm gonna go fiftyone percent back court, forty nine
percent front court. All right,I'm gonna go positive to end things here.
Norman pal had twenty four. Hehad ten of his twenty four points
in the fourth quarter. He's beenso good for this team over the last

(36:27):
two and a half months now. He's given them exactly what they've asked for
in a trade with the Portland TrailBlazers that you know, you look back
upon. It's just unbelievable to howthey were able to get this player.
Yeah, I'm at a loss. It's fantastic to see. I hope these

(36:49):
stays right. I think most Clippersfans get nervous at anytime a guy has
a really good game before the tradedeadline. But we'll see Clippers lose tonight
one ten to one oh four,or to the Dallas Mavericks as the West
gets that much tougher with Kevin Durantback in it with the Phoenix Sons.
Well, Charles, thanks for doingthis tonight. I appreciate it. Tough

(37:10):
one for Clipper Nation, especially withthis news coming out as well, but
I'm sure we'll be doing eclipse anddouble dip tomorrow my friend, Oh,
absolutely for sure, or a tripodtomorrow night. It's the clips and double
dip though outside of you know, the game and the tough analysis after a
loss like this one. Who comingup next? We'll get back to your

(37:32):
phone calls eight six six nine eightseven two five seventy eight six six nine
eight seven two five seventy as thephone number. How you feeling? Cliper
Nation Sons got KD and they didn'tgive up any of the guys in their
big three with eight and CP threeand Devin Booker. Unbelievable. Back to

(37:52):
your phone calls next. You're ona five seventy al A Sports. It
was blocked by George. This isLA Clippers basketball. He is a one
man king crawl and defensive man onthe home of your LA Clippers. I
guess three straight forty point games fromCam Thomas didn't sell KD on staying with
the Nets. Kevin Durant is nowa member of the Phoenix Suns and joined

(38:15):
CP three, Devin Booker and DeAndreEighten. On a night where the Clippers
lose one tenth to one oh fourto Kyrie Irving and the Dallas Mavericks.
Pet's heads are falling off. Itis difficult to keep track of some of
the star players in the movement rightnow. It's still strange to talk about
Kyrie Irving being a Dallas Maverick andnow Kevin Durant being a member of the

(38:37):
Phoenix Suns. Difficult to process.Tough loss for the Clippers and the West
and the Pacific Division just got awhole lot tougher. Welcome in to Clippers
stock. I'm out of Moslin eightsix six ninety seven two seventy eight six
six ninety seven, two seventy It'sgonna Lenny in Englewood money. What's up?

(38:57):
Oh man? Where do I start? I told you from the beginning
of the year or something's wrong withthis team. They're not playing with the
with a sense of urgency and notplaying like they got a chip on their
shoulder. Then I told you ReggieJackson was not a starting point guard on
a championship team, and you youcounted me. I told you something's wrong

(39:22):
with Luke Kennard, been wrong withLuke Kenard at this point, he needs
to return some money. And nowwe just flipped from fourth to six and
Phoenix is the favorites to win itoff. And this is gonna go down
as one of the worst seasons inClipper history. And it's looking like that

(39:43):
Paul George trade at Kawhii and Sisterwe make it's gonna go down one of
the worst tracy as well. Theyhave achieved zero, they have gotten,
They've gotten not sent Bro, allright, I don't know why. I
mean, I know Steve Barmer wasresistant to to do what Kawhi affect.
If we would have just lady, what happens if Kawhi doesn't tear his acl

(40:08):
they win it. Yeah, butthey have a great chance of winning it.
But let me tell you this, they had it. Let me tell
you something. The way way Giannisafter Scimble was playing in that series,
he just kept getting He just keptgetting better and better right before our eyes.
I mean that final game he hadfifty points and twenty rebounds. Bro.

(40:28):
He was great. But we don'tWe saw what Kawai did to him.
Huh. We saw what Kawai didto him in the Eastern Conference Finals
in twenty nineteen. I don't thinkit would have been the same. We'll
never know. I'm just saying howcan you plan for Kawhi Leonard taking a
bad step and tearing his acel. It's just bad luck is very unfortunate.

(40:51):
Well, let me just say this, Norm Powell is untouchable Kawai because we're
never gonna get back, but wewant for him Terrence Man and I'm besides
that, they's just going ahead andprepare for a full on rebuilt, because
I you can't sell us that thisteam is gonna He's gonna do anything.

(41:12):
We can't get by now, wecan't get by Dallas we had I did
not see as getting by Joke atDenver the way they They've destroyed us,
and now you got kd CP threeEighten and Book on the same damn team.
It's over, Man's so I'm goingto I'm putting my money in Vegas

(41:38):
tomorrow. I don't know how theNBA. I don't know what's the on.
Maybe I don't know what's the ill. We all thought it was over
when Brooklyn brought in James Harden toadd to Katie and Kyrie and that didn't
work out. You never know whatthese things? Am I wrong? No

(41:59):
I ever say that. Did youreally see us away? He playing We're
gonna all of a sudden just wakeup and start stopping through the West and
getting the finals. Let me comeon, really, man, I really,
I've seen this team turn things aroundbefore. And there's still twelve more
hours left a little bit over thatbefore the trade deadline, and I would
be surprised if the Clippers don't makea move to improve this ball club.

(42:22):
I'd be very surprised. So we'llsee, we'll talk on Friday, Okay,
Lenny, all right, man,Clippers lose one ten to one,
O four to the Dallas Mavericks ona night, or the Phoenix Suns end
up with Kevin Durant to add tothe value team Clipper saw in the Western

(42:45):
Conference finals a couple of years agowithout Kawhi Leonard took him to six.
But yeah, this is going tobe a new super team in this league.
KD with Devin Booker is about aslethal as it gets, those two
with their shot make ability. Butagain he had Kyrie Irving and that situation
didn't work out. It's a warof attrition. Healthiest team goes on to

(43:07):
win it. Right now, theClippers, though, they gotta worry about
themselves and the way they're playing withtwenty four games left, they have to
find some sort of consistency through therest of the season. The good news
is they've got a lot more homegames left to play. They got a
lot more days off to build upsome of that chemistry through practice and preparation

(43:30):
and to get this thing right. And we'll see on Friday what this roster
looks like. They fall by six, though, tonight, Before we get
out of here, I do wantto thank the Clippers organization. No It
Eagle, Brian Seaman, Ralph Lawler, no Big Brother, Jake Warner's night,
