Clipper Nation Baby, get the podcast. I'm the iHeart Radio Aire and now
your host. He makes everything happen. Adam Auslin, Sydney of Brotherly Love

(00:26):
could have fooled me. Clippers loseby three in Philadelphia to the seventy six
ers and their winning streak stops atseven. Welcome into Clippers Talk. I'm
Adam Oslin to eight seven seven fivetwo zero eleven fifty eight seven seven five
two zero eleven fifty is the phonenumber coming up on the show. Here

(00:48):
we have postgame audio from coach tloew and my friend Jamal Christopher, artist
and analyst for your Los Angeles Clippers. At least week comes on this show.
He's at Clippers two oh seven. He's fantastic. He's been coming on
all season long. He'll be here. The Clippers were also close to another

(01:11):
gritty, gutty, grinded out comeback. It's been a trademark of theirs the
last month or so they are forgingthat identity and really merging back to that
twenty eight twenty nineteen Clippers identity, the comeback Clips who were never out of
a ball game, who came backdown fifteen or more seven different times,

(01:33):
including the biggest playoff comeback in NBAhistory, down thirty one to the Golden
State Warriors. There's the positive becausethey were down seventeen early. They got
jumped, they got ambushed, theygot absolutely blitzed and punched in the face
in that first quarter. They weredown twenty to three just three minutes in.

(01:57):
They looked like they were a littlebit day as it confused there and
Richard Linkler, whatever his name is, the director, was directing that offense
to start off the game for theClippers. They just looked overwhelmed. They
just didn't look right. They gothit hard by Philly. They were getting
bullied by them. Being down twentyto three less than five minutes in does

(02:21):
not happen often. They weren't lockedin, they weren't focused, and that
intensity and urgency wasn't there for whateverreason. But that would change quickly and
Paul George was back. He hadten in the first quarter and even without
Kawhi Leonard, without Sir Jebacca, still without Patrick Beverly, and I did

(02:42):
tweet this out earlier. This wasreally the first game since they've been without
Sir Jebaca where they were really missinghim tonight. They really could have used
his size, his shooting from theoutside to draw Joe Lmbad away from the
basket. Iviza Zubots has been fantasticand surge his absence, but tonight didn't

(03:10):
have one of his best games, just four points in sixteen minutes, had
three personal fouls, and Patrick Pattersonand played fourteen minutes just two less and
had eighteen points his season high whilegoing five of seven from distance. He
Marcus Morris and Nicholas Batoum, andeven Paul George at times they were just

(03:34):
throwing bodies in waves to try tostop or slowed down at least Joe Lmbiad,
who still finished with thirty six andfourteen on ten of twenty shooting.
Sixteen of his points, though, came at the free throw line, and
we've hardly talked about the officials allseason long, but he made as many
free throws, and you could sayhe attempted more free throws than the entire

(03:58):
Clippers team. I'm not saying thoseweren't all accurately cold fouls, but the
whistle Paul George has been getting ithas to be frustrating. He's letting the
league no. The Clippers have andI see you, Clipper Nation, I'm
watching the same game you are.In that third quarter, it looked like

(04:23):
Paul George got hacked a couple oftimes going to the basket and he couldn't
get a call, and he hadseven turnovers. Tell me that didn't play
into it. The fact that theywere calling a different whistle for him,
I thought, especially in the fourthquarter at one point, I believe he
had back to back turnovers. Itlooked like there was contact, couldn't get

(04:44):
a whistle. He's a superstar inthis league. I thought those guys get
calls. He hasn't been getting themall season long. To his credit,
he's been playing through it. Anyways, he had thirty seven his fifth straight
game now where he's had thirty ormore, but just went to the free
throw line seven times, and theClippers as a team just went their sixteen

(05:05):
times. Now they have to beaccountable for only hitting ten of them.
That was an issue self inflicted woundsin this game would haunt them. They
had nineteen turnovers, leading to twentyone points. And this is a team
that is top five when it comesto taking care of the basketball at only

(05:26):
about eleven turnovers per game. They'vebeen even better post All Star Break,
but they weren't great in this one, especially in the second half, where
they had twelve of them, fivein the third quarter, seven more in
the fourth quarter. Every time theymade their push, made their run,

(05:46):
got it two within five, gotit two within eight, or three or
one, they would have missq's offensively. It happened a lot tonight. They
ever had the lead until Pat patwho had three of his three pointers in
that fourth quarter, hit a hugeone. But it felt like it was

(06:10):
one of those games where whenever theyscored, fully responded, whenever they got
a stop on the other end, they couldn't capitalize by scoring themselves. It
was a frustrating game at times, but it also showed the heart of this
Clippers team to come back down seventeen, to come back down six in the
last forty seven seconds and have ittwo within one. They fouled Danny Green

(06:32):
with ten seconds left. He hitboth and they had a shot to tie
the game at the end and MarcusMorris, it was a tough look.
They were trying to get it intoPaul George, the likely defensive player of
the year. Ben Simmons was drapedall over him, and his Defensive Player
of the Year award means a littlebit more to me with how good he's

(06:54):
been this year. He has easilybeen the best defender, defending all five
position and giving you that solid effortfor however many minutes he's out there per
night. He's been phenomenal. Joel embiid so good offensively. A lot
of those assists are coming from BenSimmons. But this is the number one

(07:15):
team in the East. Now.They were missing Tobias Harris, Clippers were
missing Kawai though that's not exactly aneven trade off. But I like the
fight that this Clippers team has startedto develop or each and every game.
Now you can count on them nomatter how many points they're down, they're
gonna make that run. They're goingto continue to keep playing for forty eight

(07:36):
minutes. That's what we wanted tosee. That's when you start to have
that consistency and you build those championshiptraits. But I really feel like this
stretch of having to deal with somuch adversity because of all the injuries going
on with this team, and wetalked about it. No Eagle brought up

(07:57):
the quote from Nicholas Batoum after theycame back down twenty two against the Atlanta
Hawks, where in that third quartert Lou took out all the starters put
in the bench unit. They werethe ones that came back. Something was
born out of that, and cominginto this game when they had one thirteen
of their last fifteen, Kawhi Leonardhad missed four games, Paul Georgia miss

(08:20):
four, Sergebaka had missed fifteen,Patrick Beverly had missed thirteen, and they
still had a seven oh win streak. They still had one thirteen to fifteen.
They were fifteen and four coming intotonight post All Star Break. Having
all those guys missing. Kawhi andPG thirteen have combined to miss twenty nine

(08:41):
games so far this season, andthey're still in the hunt for the two
seed in the Western Conference. Thedepth on this team has shown to be
even more spectacular than they were lastseason, and I think they have better
playoff depth, guys that translator theirgames translate better to the playoffs. That's

(09:03):
gonna be huge. Reggie Jackson,he hit the big three pointer to bring
it within one. Wouldn't you knowafter what he did in Detroit on Wednesday,
and even though he was just fourof thirteen, he hits that big
shot, and he hits four threepointers overall. Ra Gen Rondo led them
with eight assists and had a spectacularone on the inbounds pass to bring it

(09:28):
within four to Marcus Moris with abouttwenty seconds left. I believe it was
or No. Forty seven seconds leftand it was one oh four to one
hundred that passed by Rondo. You'renot getting that from anybody else. He
had another assist to Nicholas Batoum atthe end of the third quarter to bring
it within four heading into the fourth, Big Daddy Nicholas Batoum three pointers from

(09:54):
the corner. That's been a trademarkof this team all season long. But
now he had Rondo from game one, they got a special connection. He's
always looking for Nicholas Batum to gethim easier shots. But you can't say
enough about the way he has playedso far as a Clipper and the way
this team continues to fight no matterwho is out there. Lord let them

(10:20):
get healthy in these last fourteen games. There's only fourteen more in the regular
season. But I do think thiscould be a blessing in disguise the adversity
they have had to deal with. There is a real silver lining here because
tylw has found out about guys onthis bench that have had to step into
starting roles who have performed really well, and their name, their number is

(10:43):
going to be called at times inthe playoffs in big moments. So I
think this is going to pay offfor the Clippers. And the fact that
they were able to be within threepoints at the end of this game while
having nineteen turnovers while missing six freethrows. It speaks to what we've been

(11:05):
seeing from this team and just theway they have competed for overall forty eight
minutes more consistently post All Star Break. If they got off to a hotter
start, maybe they win this game. They're down twenty to three early,
but they did have the lead. They were led by as many as one
late in the fourth quarter after PatrickPatterson three pointer. Let's go to Morris

(11:30):
and long beach. Morris, what'sup? You're on Clippers stock without Aim
Auslin? Who who that man Patterson? Who who that man Pattison? Lord
had? Where did he come from? Man? I'm telling you I was
a big time impressed that brother washitting some big time three. And look
here, Adam, we had alot of turnovers. You know why we
had a lot of turnovers. Phillyplayed some defense. They played some defense,

(11:52):
and most of the time you think, well, this game is over,
the Clippers is down two hundred tofive. But this is the NBA.
These guys came back. I mean, you got to be up at
you lost. Ain't nobody jumping upand down. They lost heartbroken, okay,
but they really showed some grits. And if you had told me when
the Clippers were down twenty to threethat at the end of the game it's
going to get down to more.Is shooting the three a tough one,

(12:13):
but just the three to tired orwin it, I wouldn't believe you.
But they got some grit. Theseguys are showing something. You're bet not.
Let them get healthy, behave yourselfat him. Thank you, Morris.
Of course there is something to thatyou're playing the second best defense in
the league, and they got upfor this game, and I think that's
what you saw at the beginning withthe energy that they brought. This was

(12:35):
something they circled on their calendar. Most likely this was one of those games
for them and Doc Rivers. ButI still feel like five or six of
those turnovers were careless and just unforcedturnovers. That the Clippers were a little
bit better in that area could havebeen the difference in this one. Still,
though you don't like calling things agood loss, but there are a

(12:58):
lot of encouraging things lessons to belearned in a loss like this, including
how you play late and how youexecute. And I thought from the ra
Gen Rondo pass to Marcus Morris tobring it within four on an out of
bounds play where you're trying to scoreas fast as possible and only point four

(13:20):
seconds come off the clock, whenhe throws that alleyup lay up to Marcus
Morris, and then getting the stopon the other end to Reggie Jackson,
then and the extra pass from NicholasBatum to hit him in the corner for
that three pointer. That was specialexecution. That was championship level stuff.
Well, here from TLU. I'malso wondering the strategy late in the philosophy

(13:43):
late where they did let the Philadelphiaseventy six ers run ten seconds off the
clock. I think they were goingfor the steal and then eventually they fouled
Danny Green and then also what theywere looking for in that final possession.
Tough shot for Marcus Morris. Hecan hit that shot, but I don't
think he was the number one option. I'm guests on that set. We'll
find out coming up from t LOUplus Jamal Christopher will be here at Clippers

(14:07):
two four seven after they lose bythree in Philadelphia to the seventy six ers.
No shame in a loss like this, but I know you Clipper Nation,
you want to win them all.I get it. PG thirteen seven
turnovers, yes, but had afifteen point third quarter put them on his
back, finishing with thirty seven, had twenty of those in the second half.

(14:35):
He's playing through this right foot injuryand he's playing spectacular basketball, some
of the best of his career.More on that too, coming up right
here on Clippers Talk. On thePatriot Amblem fifty stagger, Paul George.
This is the official home of yourLA Clippers. Don't miss a moment of

(14:58):
Clippers basketball law. The Clippers wayingstreak ends at seven at the hands of
the Philadelphia seventy six ers. Theylose late by a final score of one
oz six to one ozho three.Welcome back into Clippers stock. I'm at

(15:18):
a maslin to eight seven seven fivetwo zero eleven fifty eight seven seven five
two zero eleven fifty is the phonenumber coming up here in this very segment
you're gonna hear from Coach tlu postgame still to come. Jamal Christopher one
of my friends, one of myfavorites when it comes to his commentary on

(15:39):
Clippers basketball, and he's got somebangers two on Spotify. We'll try to
play some of his music coming backto but uh, let's go to Canoah
calling from Honolulu and the eight oheight and heartbreaking loss for the Clippers.
What's up then? Yeah, Yeah, it was a little disappointing, but
you were you were right on aboutyou know, all the turnovers as poorly

(16:03):
as they started out that they werestill in this game. But it's but
as bad as it was, itreally was the miss free throws, which
are real uncharacteristic they've made those, and then the real turning point at the
end, I think they'd actually takena two point lead, but it was
one when there was the fall onI think it was batoon Embied made the

(16:26):
first free throw but missed the second. They got the three bound in the
three. That four point play wasreally what killed him. And then it
was after that time I think Georgehad two straight turnovers, so it was
really unlucky on that that one play. I was a little surprised Jackson wasn't

(16:47):
in there at the end for thatlast shot because he's been so cool under
pressure, you know, to maybetake that last shot. The TV showed
George was like six out of fiftyand that sort of situation with the game
on the line. But Jackson's beenso tremendous. But yeah, what did
what did you think about that? That that four point play really turning the

(17:10):
game on that fall can no.I appreciate the phone call from Honolulu,
no less, that was critical. That was somewhat of a backbreaker, but
they still climbed right back into it. Now, what was interesting in this
game was how Philadelphia uncharacteristically went outsideof themselves at the half, they had

(17:34):
attempted twenty nine three pointers. That'swhat they attempt for an entire forty eight
minutes. They make ten per game. They had made ten at the half.
They end up with just fourteen madethrees, but that was a timely
one, so they had just fourmore three pointers made in the second half,

(17:56):
and they go just fourteen to fortyfour, like the Houston rock gets
putting him up from there from acouple of years ago. It was strange
to see that style of play fromthem, and maybe you know that's one
of the reasons the Clippers were ableto get back in this because they were
playing outside of themselves. But Ithought the Clippers defensively after the first quarter

(18:19):
or pretty darn good. And Ilove the way that they tried everything even
without Serge Ibaka. And it isparamount that they get him back, of
course, because he's that other bigbody that is so skilled picking pop,
pick and roll guy. But hewould have been huge in a game like
this against Joel Embiid. But Ithought Marcus Morris played as took us off,

(18:45):
as VTB would say, trying tode up Joel Embiad At times.
Paul George had two blocks. Theyboth came on Joel Embiid. Nicholas Batoum
took an elbow to the face tryingto guard Joe l Embiid. They did
everything they could. Patrick Patterson triedto slow him down. They threw the
kitchen sink at him. He's justtoo good and missing. Sergeerbaka really hurt

(19:11):
them in this game. No KawhiLeonard as well in this one. But
you gotta appreciate the way the Clippershave been able to show that toughness,
whether it's playing defense like that orjust that toughness in terms of mentality of
never say die, never give up. That has been the mantra of this
team the last few weeks now,and that's exactly what you need come playoff

(19:33):
time. Before you hear from tLou post game, let's go to Jose
and Southgate. Jose, what's uphere on Clipper stock without in Austin,
what's up? Adam? Thank youAdam thinking no illegal, thank you Rasselawlers.
Way you too many turnovers, waytoo many misfree throws. But besides
that, I love my Clippers,Yes I do. I love the Clippers.

(19:56):
How about you, Adam? Theywent from twenty to three two,
you've not entertained. Oh my goodness, Patricks, stay ready, you already
know, Ibata, you know whatI'm gonna let out. I've been holding
this every call. We haven't beenclaiming them because we don't want them to
get a defensive steam against us.But it's twenty fourteen games left, like
you said, so let's go.You already know, let's go. Ok

(20:17):
that first, thank you for thephone call. All right, let's hear
from coach Lou post game after theClippers fall late Buy three in Philadelphia to
the seventy six ers, here wascoach t Lou speaking with the media.
Hey, coach, good evening. Can you talk about the impact, even
in a loss, that Patrick Pattersonhad in this game to give you guys

(20:40):
a boost just being a profession ofyou know hat, Pat's always ready to
go and he's always ready to play. When you called his number and I
like say, gave him a hugeand about the bench, you know at
eighteen points on the wavefall and youknow, challenging beats all night. He
was huge for us. Thank you. We'll go next to Mason Bay coach

(21:03):
on that that last possession or notthe last question. Sorry, when when
you guys didn't folo immediately you weretrying to trap initially? Was that?
Was that recommunicating that that you wantedthem to fail immediately kind of see you
on the sidelines or the end ofthe broadcast said that you were They heard
you yelling foul foul? Was that? Did you want them to fil immediately
you wanted to trap first or wasa plan on that? Yeah, well,

(21:25):
being sam As probably wanted to trap. We wanted to foul immediately if
anyone else called it. We wantedto give one trap in and bid foul
once the guy out to trap. But I thought they did a good job
moving the ball quick and we reallycouldn't get to them, so give them
credit for doing that. But theywanted to try to trap, and you
know that that being sam As catcherand didn't try to foul. But of
course the ball to touch his hands. Thank you. I'm going to give

(21:47):
everyone ten seconds to raise your handand then tiam might need to let you
go early, Okay, long goahead. Uh. This was this was
the end of the you know, three game trip and everything, and just
wanted to see how you felt likethis team kind of executed everything, especially

(22:08):
going against tonight against one of theif not the best defense in the NBA.
Here, I thought we did agood job. You know, first
half we struggled to score to basketball, and they did a good job offensive
legue. I thought, second half, you know, came out, made
it, made it over past, made over, made it plays. Get

(22:29):
shout forty nine percent from three, you know, make it nineteen three.
So we did a good job ofmoving the basketball in that regard. You
know, got to the free though, I only sixteen free gools. But
overall, like I thought, ourguys competed, you know, like I
said, Joe Joe besially handful.I thought we did a good job of
just mixing it up on him.You know, you had thirty six points.
I thought he was trying to forcea lot and we was able to
get to him and show him adifferent looks. So, you know,

(22:51):
hats off to them. They playedwell. Next we'll go to Miriam any
time. What'd you make a PGtonight, especially being under the weather,
but offensively and defensively, he reallycame through. I probably played I probably
played well. You know, I'mjust called halling the basketball, you know,
from this halling the basketball far asa little dusty, but you know,

(23:15):
other than that, I thought offensivelyhe was he was really good.
And I thought, just making theright playing the right passes, you know
what we needed to you know,I started, I just want to you
know, let's coming in Stephanie down. He's been sicking the last days and
played the way he did it,laid down the line for us. That
means a lot to this team. Thanks, we go to Thanks, we

(23:36):
go to camp. Go ahead,Hey coach, Yeah, hey, hey,
coach, We'll ask you about PatrickPatterson. Man, he said,
can you hear me? Yes,sir, he contributed both offensively obviously and
defensively. Did you expect to getthat production from him on the defensive side

(23:59):
of the ball. He played inbeads. He's seemed to play in bed
pretty tough. Yeah, I mean, you know he always plays tough.
He plays the physicality to our team. He said, like he's able to
switch when they need to switch. But you know, post defense, he's
gonna be down bangs and he knowsfor him to be a four man,
you know, he's always going tobeat the five man. He did a
good job. Like I said,I'm just trying to compete, making him
be work, you know, falloff his baskets not probably did a good

(24:22):
job. We wore him beat down. You know, he got to the
Pretol line eighteen times, which weknow he leads Hi League again into the
Preto line. But overall, Ilike the way we falling competed, all
right. There was coach lou postgame after the Clippers fall. They lose
by three to the Philadelphia seventy sixers. It did feel like we were
in tron a little bit. Therewas some of that sound, but good

(24:47):
enough. Good to hear from thehead coach. I love the strategy there.
If m bead was the one whocaught it or touched the ball,
they would have felled him right away. Otherwise they were throwing a trap trying
to get a steal. And withthe way they created turnovers the last game
against Detroit Lake, you kind oftrust their defense and they did a good
job overall in the second half. They held Philly to just twenty five points

(25:11):
in the fourth quarter, just twentytwo in the third. Clippers lose one
O six to one O three inPhilly. Coming up next, my friend
Jamal Christopher will be here at CLIPStwo four seven we'll get back to your
phone calls to close things out. You're listening to Clippers Sack here on the

(25:33):
Patriot AM eleven fifty stagger from PaulGeorge. This is the official home of
your LA Clippers. Don't miss amoment of Clippers basketball all season long and
nine and hey, just because theylost their first game and their last eight,

(26:00):
the party's not over. But welcomeback into Clippers Talk. I've had
a Moslin coming up. We'll getback to your phone calls here. You're
listening to your guests now. JamalChristopher at Clippers two four seven, the
artist, the analysts. He's gota beautiful mind and we like to use
it here on Clippers Talk. Postgame, Jamal, thanks for coming on.

(26:22):
Let's start with the PG thirteen andthe gutty performance he had with thirty
seven points. Well, being sickearlier today, wasn't there for shooting around.
It sounds like flu like symptoms. But once again, fifth straight game
of thirty or more ties a careerhigh. For five straight games, that's

(26:44):
the longest streak of his career. He tied it once again. I thought
he was brilliant. I know hehad seven turnovers. I thought some of
those could have been fouls. Howwould you evaluate PG. Thirteen and just
how he has played recently while playingthrough that foot injury. Oh, this
is the best stress of his career. To me, Yeah, this is

(27:04):
the best stretch of his career.I thought today he was really good.
I have to rewatch the first half. Actually I didn't get to see it
because I was coming out from work, but yeah, from what I saw,
I saw that Tyler mentioned that hewas a bit rusty with his handle
from coming back, and I thoughtyou could really see it, especially when,
like in the fourth when Vin Simmonswas checking him. I thought he

(27:30):
got a little bit winded down thestretch, especially at the end of the
third quarter, and then when hecame back in the fourth, I just
really thought he was winded. Andif you're fighting an illness along with you
haven't played in two days, andhe was playing incredibly hard, that's to
be expected. But yeah, thisis just it's just really encouraging to see

(27:53):
a guy like Paul George play atthis level. You know, I think
anybody who's watched NBA basketball over thelast decade kind of knows the selling of
a Paul George right, Like,we all know that when you watch Paul
George play at his best, he'sreally up there with the best at his
position, man, And so thecloser he gets to that filling, the

(28:18):
better he is as a player, and it bodes well for the Clippers that
And I was just sharing this thathe's in the middle of the best stretch
of his career heading into probably what'sthe most important playoff runt of his career.
So, yeah, this is greatto see. He's been shooting it
well all year. He's starting toreally put the pressure on the rim more.

(28:40):
He's still not getting a fair whistle, but yeah, this is this
has been It's actually been fun towatch him play at this level and I
just hope it continues. Man,he's moving. I love how relentless he
is despite not getting the calls. It's not affecting his play much. It
may affect the score here and therebecause you could have got a few more
free throws that could have been theday, but it's not affecting his mindset.

(29:02):
And he talked about this the otherday where having to play with this
foot injury has made him tougher insome ways, and it's really significant when
you think about this Clippers team andthe toughness they've showed as a whole,
but there's a mentality there, orthey're refusing to use injuries as an excuse.

(29:22):
They used to not be able towin games consistently without Patrick Beverley,
and what we've seen post All StarBreak is really a stark difference compared to
what we've seen in the last threeyears. But even going back to last
season with the two on three connection, and it looks like this team is
forming that identity through the adversity, because adversity shows your true character, and

(29:45):
they are a team that refuses tolose. Yeah, I couldn't agree more.
I think more than anything though,it's the personnel on this team compared
to last year. Right, Ithink they're just a flat out better team,
a more solid team which allows formore more, more performances where you

(30:07):
don't expect them to be at theirbest. But you kind of know,
like there's no variance with Batun prettymuch, right, Like you know he's
gonna be there every night, Right, you know what you're gonna get at
this point, at least I believeyou know what you're gonna get from Rondo,
Right, like, you know, when Surge is healthy, what you're
gonna get from Surge just a muchmore competent group, a much more rock

(30:29):
solid group. And I think that'sbeen one of the bigger stories of the
year for the Clippers. And thenalso to Tyler right, like I think
I wanted to tweet highlight. Idon't think he should get Coach of the
Year, but I think he shouldget some more love from that in that
conversation, Like, the Clippers haveno business being as dominant as they have
been, with as many guys thathave been out, as many line ups

(30:52):
that they've had to use, andI think you really see it with like
a Kawaii doesn't play or when aPaul George doesn't and it's still the same
offense. They're still generating a tonof open looks. It's really been it's
really been toddlu being being the offensivegenius that he's been. So you can

(31:12):
really see that there's a real systemin place that no matter who's in,
no matter who's out, you're stillgonna get the same quality of Clipper basketball.
And it really bodes well for theplayoffs, you know, because in
the playoffs, you know, it'snot gonna be smooth. I know everybody's
gonna be like, oh, theClippers are better than this team. They
should do this time third. ButI'm telling you there's gonna be a series

(31:32):
here and there where it's gonna getrocky, and we just know that in
the middle of the battle. Iknow what I'm gonna get from betumb I
knowing I'm gonna get from this guy. I know what I'm gonna get from
that guy, and that matters. So yeah, that's it's gonna be.
It's gonna be fun. Jamal Christopheris my guests here. Follow him at
Clippers two for the Word seven onTwitter. It's funny speaking to awards and

(31:57):
TLU not getting enough recognition. We'vetalked on Twitter about Kawhi Leonard also not
getting much love. It's almost likethey've been too good for their own good.
Because they've been winning games, peoplejust go, Okay, they must
have a fully healthy squad and justlike the Utah Jazz I've had for most
of the season. Hopefully Donovan Mitchellcomes back quickly from that right sprained ankle

(32:19):
earlier today. But people are takingthem for granted a little bit. They've
been so good and I also feellike they're holding what happened last season in
the playoffs against them a little bit, even though that's a totally different team.
But also regarding t Lou, whatdid you think of the final play
there and the final shot attempted byMarcus Morris down three with just in our

(32:42):
ten seconds left. Yeah, Imean, but before before I get into
that, you touched on something withDonovan Mitchell, I just want to say,
you know, get get well,Donovan. Prayers out to Jamal Murray
as well. We're gonna get AnthonyDavis back soon. And that's a good
and hopefully Lebron follows. Man.Injury sucks, so shout out to those

(33:04):
guys. Man. But everybody wantsI mean, you want to beat them
at their best, right, Youdon't want any excuses either way, right
and and and it's it's set towin like that, you know. Yeah,
I just want everybody to be healthy, man, So all those guys
get well, get better. Thegame is better when those guys are playing.

(33:24):
But yeah, on that last play, I gotta rewatch it. I
thought Marcus Morris kind of rushed abit. I saw that he shot it
with like nine seconds left, likethat's just yeah, that or something like
that. And yeah, that wasjust nothing short of awful. Tylu literally
either a player or two before gotan out of bounce lot to Marcus Morris,

(33:47):
which was beautiful, Like you knowwhat I mean. You just expected
the Clippers to get a really goodlook there. I know a lot of
people like to throw the little clutchstad and all that stuff, and you
know, but typically Tylu and theClippers can generate some really good stuff and
some really quality looks. So itwas very surprising that that didn't happen there.

(34:10):
And then again, Marcus Morris isa good shot maker, so he
still had a chance to make it. But yeah, that just wasn't a
good look at all. Final onefor you here, Jamal, because you've
talked about this team entering the playoffsand how much better they are deathwise,
and I was mentioning this too. They have more depth that translates to the

(34:30):
playoffs. Guys that fit in betterin those playoff minutes because of their style
of play, and one of themto me is Terrence Man because he does
a little bit of everything and regardlessof if he's scoring or not, like
tonight where he had zero points,he was still a plus five out there.
Just how impressed have you been withhis play this season, especially over

(34:52):
the last month. It's it's hardto put in words. Man, you
know, it's crazy. I'll comeout and say it. And in hindsight,
a lot of it was the wayDoc Rivers used him. But yeah,
last year I was kind of notsure that I saw like a legitimate

(35:15):
rotation NBA player there. I wasnot sure. I didn't think so.
And you know, and he's likea late teching around pick. That's not
that's not crazy for that guy toturn out a non NBA player, right,
But this year it's just I mean, you hit it. He does
everything, you know what I mean. He competes on defense, he rebounds,

(35:37):
he flies in. I think hereally he really is given the Clippers
a dynamic that they didn't have, which is in somebody that can get to
the rim, some young some juice, you know what I mean, some
pop that kind of pushes the pace. Terrence Man has just been fantastic.
He's definitely earned himself a spot inthe rotation and to me, in the

(36:00):
playoffs, I just I just theproblem is there's quite a few guys that
have done that as well. Soty Luke has this like he's gonna have
to make some tough decisions in thatregard, you know what I mean,
Because like I think Luke Kenard,we're gonna need Luke Kenard, region Rondo
is gonna play, he has toplay. Yeah, and then Reggie Jackson

(36:24):
has been he's been off the chart, like, so it's tough. I
do think Terrence Man is probably gonnabe the one, no I see,
I see, I don't know.I think they're gonna be Terence Man or
Luke Kannard. That's gonna be theodd man out. But yeah, Terrence
Man has been great. He's reallyhe's really shown me that he's gonna be

(36:49):
around for a while man, andhe's gonna make some money someday. Like
he's he's really good and he's justfinding ways to be effective. And then
the jump shot is coming around andif that, if that's real, then
look out. So yeah, TerrenceMann has been awesome. He is Jamal
Christopher follow him at Clippers two fourseven. You're hearing him here. The

(37:10):
segment's over, Jamal, I appreciateyou coming on, my friend. Great

quickly just we got thirty seconds?Okay, Usually dark, I mean tylu
He. His substitution pattern goes withusually Kauai or PG on the floor,
one of them on the floor.Do you envision Rondo playing more miss than
he did tonight because he played twentysix And when he does, do you

(38:20):
think he'll stagger his miss with PG, PG and Rondo together on the floor.
Because I don't think it's any coincidencethat PG started playing a lot better
since Rondo came to the team.I think he said that he has a
scoring mentality and with Rondo and himtogether on the floor, PG will just
be able to score and it willhelp limit the turnovers as you saw today.

(38:45):
I think it's a good point toagis t Lou looks at the numbers.
He's going to check out that plusmining and that plus minus and that
net rating. When those two areon the court, they've been very efficient
together. Mitch quickly, Adam, how are you doing to keep team kilful?
