(00:00):
The game is over. Paul Georgemoney in the pain, but the postgame
reaction has just begun. Cohi Leonardis so smooth in the mid range.
This is Clippers locker Roo, arecap of today's game and a look ahead,
your hope for LA Clippers basketball, and now your host, You,
sir, are a bad man.Adam Osley first bounce back with one of

(00:24):
their best victories of the season. They win one twenty seven to one oh
five over the OKAC thunder here anddown town Los Angeles. Welcome in your
post game show. I'm Adam Oslincoming up second half highlights, plus you're
here from the head coach and theplayers. But first we get to your
voice of the Clippers and Noah Eagle. No we talked about them progressing to

(00:44):
the mean the Clippers were due. They hit eleven of their last fifteen attempts
from the outside and absolutely put thisgame away. Eleven or fifteen, Say
that one more time. I thinkmy math is right from the last two
The math is math from the lasttwo minutes of the third quarter when they
got hot. Kawai hit one,Bones hit two, but tomb hit two,

(01:06):
and through the fourth they would goeleven of fifteen from three scot it
Hot. Yeah, yeah, no, you're not. You're not wrong.
I'd say Jim Carrey in the MaskCircle of nineteen ninety four would feel pretty
good about it. You know,Cameron Diaz right there with them and Stanley
ip Kiss, you know they werefeeling good. But this is what the
Clippers are. This is why theyare so dangerous when they play at their

(01:27):
top level. Thirty four assists onforty seven made field goals. But it's
because they're making their open shots. And that's what was so puzzling about the
loss the other day on Tuesday. It wasn't that they didn't get some good
looks, they just didn't make them. And a normal game like this,
this is a normal Clipper game. This is a team that was second in
the NBA in scoring after the AllStar Break coming into the game on Tuesday

(01:49):
at over one hundred and twenty agame. We'll guess what they put up
one twenty seven to day. Andthey did it the way that we expect
them to do it by finding openshooters, drive kick, swing, the
Torontoo special, get into the paintis staring, man said, or die
trying and let the rest take careof itself. But the open shooters today,
once they found that rhythm, theydid not relent, and that second
half barrage was special. Clippers inthe first quarter were down seven, and

(02:13):
Coach slew and we knew guys wouldget extended minutes, we'd see different players
out there because they have to makeup for the loss of Paul George for
now. But Bones Highland and TerrenceMan just an injection of youth and energy
out there. And those five minutesthey played early on that first quarter,
you could just see the trajectory ofthis game was going somewhere else. Yeah,

(02:34):
I really think that those two ofthe reason the Clippers win this game.
You know, Kawhi Leonard obviously hasthirty two. He starts the game
seven for seven, and he's thegame's leading score at six rebunds and six
assists with it. That's all great, But Bones Highland and Terrence Man change
the energy and the momentum of thisgame the second they stepped on the floor,
and then they continued that and tookit to a different level in the
third quarter, and then they playedthe whole fourth quarter. That's winning basketball.

(02:57):
Those guys are winning players. CertainlyTerrence Man. And that's the other
part is the lost things on Tuesday. But it stings a little more because
Terrence Man was ejected because he didn'tThey didn't have him in that second half
where they were fighting tooth and nailand they could use every fifty fifty ball,
every hustle play, every three ballin the corner, all the things
that Terrence Man does today. Theyhad it. The second tech was rescinded

(03:20):
by the way, so he shouldhave still been in that ball game.
Terrence Man, Yes, was fantastic. Bones Highland. We talked about it
during the game. His level ofconfidence with Kawhi not missing anything and Bones
still not afraid to put him upfrom distance while Kauai is on a heater,
that says something about the level ofconfidence. Look, we know that
Bones is as confident as they come. We know that he thinks he's the

(03:40):
best player on the floor every timehe's out there. That's what makes him
special. And who did I tellyou? He reminds me of when he
first got traded to the Clippers.See, that's right, And this was
a lou Williams performance if I've everseen one. Twenty six minutes off the
bench six of thirteen from the floorsixteen minutes, but seven assists and Lou
Williams were the most under rated partsabout his game was his passing. He

(04:02):
was a great pick and roll pocketpast. That's why Montrese Harold was the
sixth Man of the Year, whichbecause lou william found him time and time
and time and time again. Well, Bones Highland has that in him and
he is still a young pup.Bones is only twenty two years old.
He's only going to keep getting betterand with performances like this in such a
big moment, recognizing what the teamneeds, recognizing if they lose this game,

(04:24):
they are not in the driver's seatanymore. They're in the passenger seat.
Well, guess what, right nowthey control their destiny. They want
a top four seed, It's theirsif they wanted. Bones Highland was seven
assists as just one turnover. Earlyin that second quarter, when Russell Westbrook
came back in for his second stintplayed some critical minutes. He had a
quick eight points to start things offin the second finished with twelve points in

(04:44):
the second quarter. Has twenty four, which is about his average against the
OKC thunder since he's been on alittle more. Actually, twenty three point
four was the average. He gotto twenty four, one up them,
so why not eight of thirteen fromthe field. He also knocked down a
couple of three pointers. He reallydid, and show shooting it with confidence.
That's all we've asked out of RussellWestbrook since he's been here. Guess
what two or four from three youdo that. You're a Hall of Famer,

(05:08):
which he is, but you're aHall of Fame three point shooter.
You're winning three point shootouts. Thisis It's not about him not shooting it
all together. I think that's themisconception with Russell Westbrook. The goal and
the prerogative for him is about takingthe good ones, taking the ones where
he can square his feet, wherehe's in rhythm, he's got a good
look, and he can just letit fly and believe it's going in.

(05:28):
Today we saw that out of him, and I was really pleased with the
way he played in every fast ofthe game. Finally, you mentioned Kawhi
a little bit earlier. Started sevensfor seven, only misses two shots in
the ball game. He has afifteen point third quarter, just an unbelievable
performance by a guy who took ownershipfor the final possession on Tuesday night,

(05:48):
which went arrived for them. Whata great bounce back performance from your leader
and your superstar. Yeah, andthis is what you expect out of him.
He was poled after the game monthTuesday, Adam, and rightfully so,
I think for a variety of reasons, for the technical foul, for
not getting the shot off, forPG going down, for whatever else.
He came out like it, andhe came out on a mission, and

(06:11):
he was a plus sixteen and thirtyfour and a half minutes, and he
scored thirty two points on fifteen shots, and he did Kawhi Leonard things.
He wasn't settling. That was thekey for me. He wasn't settling.
He was getting to the mid rangeearly and that got him into rhythm the
rest of the way. So goodto see Kawhi looking like himself. Good
to see him dominate a game likewe know he's capable of on both ends
of the floor and the other part. Four steals for the claw Defensive Player

(06:33):
of the Year, not once, but two times. Clippers hold the Thunder
to one oh five, They winone twenty seven to one, all five.
They bounce back in this two gamemini series coming up next for them,
They're staying right here in town. They'll be hosting the New Orleans Pelicans

And let's be honest, it's beena difficult forty eight hours with the
news coming out with Paul George, which overall was encouraging he'll be reevaluated with
a right knee sprain in two tothree weeks. But this team, they

(07:59):
stepped up a big weights to night. Let's talk about the second half.
They were tied up at fifty fourthrough twenty four minutes. But in that
third quarter, after starting the ballgame seven of seven from from the field
but uncharacteristically not taking a shot inthe second quarter, Kawhi got cooking again
in the third. Left to right, Leonard behind his back of age william
spins in the lane, floats itup and in, and a array of

(08:20):
moves that would make anyone celibate atthe thought of what could look like that
seventeen like night, Leonard thought aboutthe free pump, big drive, left
pullet, left elbow, Kawhi Leonard. That line drive delivery finds nothing but
Nihlon sixty five apiece nineteen for theclaw. Leonard against Williams, crossing back
and forth, Leonard dancing with abasketball drive left, pulls a free throw

(08:41):
line Kawhi Leonard cash twenty one forthe claw seventy to sixty eight. La
Westbrook looking at drive, spins onJoe kick out. Leonard tees up the
right wing, three nuts it down, Kawhi Leonard forces the Oklahomas any time
out, twenty four for the boardman, five assists for the protium board.

(09:03):
The plaid Kawhi Leonard Money went thirteento fifteen overall for his thirty two
points, but he had fifteen pointsalone in that third quarter, and before
the quarter ended, the three pointsshooting started to unroll for the Clippers.
They would hit four straight in thefinal two minutes, one from Kawai,

(09:24):
two from from Bones Highland, andone from Nicholas Batoum, and they led
heading into the fourth quarterback score ofninety two to eighty and the three point
shooting that hot stretch did not stop. There. Patoomb on the right wing,
pump fake three balls up. It'sgood again. What a pass from
Leonard? How did he find him? Ninety five eighty five He was in

(09:46):
a straight jacket. Managed a Gabbatoumleft wing, another one, another one
thikobatomb kaboom, ninety eight eighty five, hidling to three ball that's good,
Bones Highland man, can it rain? It's time to get busy in downtown
Los Angeles. He's got fourteen oneoh one eighty five La extra fee demand

(10:07):
top of the key eight to shoottwelfs over step back three is on the
way. Oh Terrence Man connects twelvefor t van one oh eight eighty seven.
La Westbrook extra one ptomb on theright wing for three. He can't
stop. Pattomb berries another and it'sone eleven eighty seven. Clippers Island drives

(10:30):
whale kick light wing Westrook on threeball. It's good Russell Westbrook twenty two
against this former team and pumping upthe crowd at crypto dot com Arena one
fourteen eighty nine. Covington a leftwing three minds nothing but the bottom and
the three point party continues. Eighteenof thirty five. Now the Clippers from

(10:50):
Downtown. On twenty three ninety fivetheir league, the Clippers would hit eleven
of their last fifteen from the outsideend the ball game. That's seventy three
percent from the from the three pointline. They go on to win,
and they make it look comfortable witha one twenty seven to one oh five
victory here over the ok See Thunder. Coming up next, we'll get to

victory after what happened on Tuesday night. They did it by committee. They

(12:22):
had five players in double figures, including Bones Highland, who goes for his
Clippers high of sixteen, six ofthirteen from the field, four seven from
the outside. The Clippers overall eighteenof thirty seven. Everyone who attempted a
three made a three outside of MarcusMoore still struggling a little bit from there,

(12:43):
but the Clippers shot forty nine percentfrom three and ended on a heater,
hitting eleven of their last fifteen takesfrom distance, Kawhi Leonard leading them

(15:03):
This is Clipper Stock. I'm hata Moslin eight six six ninety eight seven
two five seventy eight six six ninetyeight seven two five seventy is the phone
number coming up. We're gonna haveCharles Mockler on from Clips in Dip.
You'll hear from the head coach inthe players after this one. What a
win though, Clipper Nation, amuch needed win in a huge spot here,

(15:24):
and you're gonna hear from Bones Highlandcoming up in just a little bit,
who was magnificent in his twenty fiveminutes. He ends up with sixteen
points but seven assists to just oneturnover, and a lot of that hot
potato passing around the perimeter where theClippers were knocking down open shots was created
by Bones drawn two, getting intothe paint, kicking it out, drive

(15:48):
kick swing, that's the mentality. He knocked down four three pointers himself.
The Clippers, though, were eighteento thirty seven from three, and they
win eleven a fifteen at the lastfourteen minutes of the ball game from the
end of the third quarter heading intothe fourth quarter, scorching hot after struggling

(16:11):
and two out of the last threegames from distance. They were asked about
it postgame. Kawhi Leonard was talkingabout it a little bit Tuesday night after
the one one hundred loss to OKCand said, you just gotta keep shooting
with confidence. It'll come back around. Sometimes the game is like that,
keep firing and the confidence from BonesHighland to see someone like that come out

(16:36):
and play like this when I can'tremember the last time he was on the
court in significant minutes or a gamewas still hanging in the balance. Obviously
there was a minute scrunch with RussellWestbrook being brought in, who had a
great game himself, twenty four points, eight of thirteen shooting, He hit
two three pointers, had seven assists. But when Paul George went down,

(16:59):
and I know a lot of peoplefear the worst, and luckily it's not
that it's a Sprainwright knee. He'llbe reevaluated in two to three weeks.
But when he went down, minuteswere up for grabs, about thirty six
minutes a night, we're there forthe taking. Who was going to soak
him up? Bones Highland got twentyfive in this one. Terrence Mann played

(17:22):
twenty seven, Mason Plumbly was attwenty five. A lot of guys filled
in the cracks and were able tocontribute. And while you can't have one
guy make up for the loss ofPaul George, you do it by committee
and the dead. And I've gonetoo far without talking about Kawhi Leonard.
What a spectacular performance from your superstar, from your leader, after struggling and

(17:49):
having a head scratching, brutal possessionto end that game, which he took
ownership of post game Tuesday night, and he comes out and starts seven first
seven from the field in the firstquarter, got fifteen and all those shots
were in the mid range and onethree pointer. I believe he had one

(18:11):
bucket in the restricted area. Tonighthe finished thirteen of fifteen. Curiously,
he didn't take a shot the lastseven minutes of the second quarter when he
came back in for a second stintand the Clippers were tied at fifty four
heading into the third quarter. Buthe got back in control and back to
his spots in the third where he'dhave fifteen points once again, and finished

(18:36):
his thirteen of fifteen for thirty twopoints plus six assists, just brilliance.
I said it the other day onthe Clips and Dip podcast. But with
the numbers he's been putting up oncehe got back to regular minutes, basically
fifty fifty ninety splits since January seventh. If this guy was at seventy games,

(18:59):
if he had the ben fit ofsome good luck, good health out
there, he'd be your front runnerfor MVP. If you're putting up fifty
fifty ninety splits, he would be. That's how dominant he's been for about
three months now. But to doit in a big spot without Paul George,

(19:19):
to know what's going to be onyour shoulders, that you have to
be the number one at all timesout there and play like that to start
this game and then wait for everybodyelse to get involved, which maybe what
he was doing strategy wise in thatsecond quarter not taking any shots. It
was just a master class and amaster full performance by Kawhi Leonard. Top

(19:41):
seventy five player ever. And you'rein good hands and large, strong hands
and claws. When you have KawhiLeonard. Even without Paul George, this
team can still win ball games. There's eight left in the regular season.
They proved it tonight against a teamthat they had lost the first three to
this season in in the Okase Thunder, who looked to be back in control

(20:04):
by the end of the second quarter. But the Clippers defense got much better
in the second half. They didn'tgive up more than twenty six points that
was in the third, just twentyfive and the fourth. But their offense,
I think was fueling their defense. When you hit shots, when you
make shots like that, you canset your defense, something they weren't able

(20:26):
to do as much Tuesday. Theyplayed at a better pace, that's what
coach Leu was looking for. Butthe way they moved the basketball around the
perimeter, and it starts with gettinginto the paint and attacking. You heard
Terrence Man talk about it with NoahEagle post game. And even though the
Clippers only had thirty eight points onthe paint, they didn't have the majority

(20:47):
of those in the second half oftwenty six. And there were some good
looks Tuesday night they missed Tonight, they progressed the mean it flipped. Stay
confident, That's what Kawhi Leonard saidpostgame Tuesday night. Eyes were But when
you see someone as young as bonesHighland out there not afraid to put up

(21:07):
shots after not playing much post AllStar Break in a game where Kawhi Leonard
is that hot, and he's stillnot deferring because he knows this team needs
his shooting as well as his playmakingthat is special, that deserves to be
applauded. And now when Norman Powellgets back and hopefully fall George does at

(21:30):
some point this season, you gotmore good problems, I guess with how
many guys you have on this teamand the death and how you're gonna fit
everybody in. Because Bones Highland, they don't win this game tonight without him.
When he and Terence Mann came intothe first quarter with about five minutes
left after the Clippers were down byseven to turn things around momentum wise and

(21:51):
change the trajectory and the energy outthere of the ball game, you could
just see it. Everything was adownhill attack from them. Everything was wreaking
havoc in the I said it onTwitter. At times it didn't look like
Bones even had a plan came tothe basket, but damn it, he
was gonna get there, come hellor high water. He missed them gimmes
at the basket because he was intraffic, so I guess they wouldn't be

(22:15):
gimmes. But he missed them closeto the rim just because he was going
full force out there and refused tobe denied. They need that Terrence Man
the same thing he had fourteen. He knocked down two three's, four of
ten from the field. Russell Westbrookhad a huge stretch early in the second

(22:37):
quarter where they opened it up toleading by eleven. I want to say
he had eight of their first tenpoints of the second finished with twelve of
his twenty four in the second quarter, but then got into the act late
with bones Highland and throw him abeautiful mob in the fourth. I get
everybody up and out of their seathere at Crypto dot com arena. One
of the more complete second halves,at least of the season where the Coppers

(22:59):
haven't had many. We talked abouta post game Tuesday night with Noah Eagle.
How many games have they had runningaway? Not many of this season
when they're a team with enough talentto do so on dominate. Don't get
me wrong, the Okac Thunder aregood and they've been playing really good basketball
offensively defensively. But this Clippers team, even without Paul George even without Norman

(23:22):
Powell right now, a ton oftalent and when they when they get everybody
pulling in the same direction, they'retough to beat. And they can put
it on you on both ends, scoring one twenty seven and holding a team
to one oh five, eight, six, six, nine, eight seven,
two five seventy eight six sixty ninetyseven two five seventy Jabier and Lahabra
Heights start things off to night hereon Clippers stock Kabier, what's up?

(23:47):
What's how bad? I'm thinking theywant to call again. This is a
game that Taylu finally, in myopinion, finally deal a good job coaching.
I mean, I mean, Imean, but you know it just
now. Was it a brilliant moveto leave Kawhi Leonard in after playing the
entire third quarter to start the fourthto continue and keep that momentum, of

(24:10):
course, but it's not the onlytime coach Lewis made good moves. Well
yeah, yeah, maybe I'm alittle bit exaggerating, but you know what
the smart move was here, Likelike always, Marcus Moore went out of
the game, the Clippers went ona twelve over run, and then he
even sniffed the fourth quarter. Imean, I think what happened. I

(24:30):
was at the game on was itTuesday when Kawai was very upset at Marcus
Morriston. He s at that screenand he was I mean I saw he
was younger at him. There wasmore going on there. It wasn't just
on Marcus. Kawhi even took responsibilitypost game. It looked like at first
he wanted a screen, then hewanted him to take his defender away from

(24:51):
the play so they wouldn't clog upthe paint in the mid range that Kawhi
was starting to get to. Therewas miscommunication out there. It was.
It was a boss into possession ina lot of different areas. It was
not just on Marcus Moore. Sothough, okay, all right, it
wasn't that's completely unfair, I understand, but that's that wasn't the situation.

(25:14):
Okay, all right? And thentoday Bone's playing. I mean he did,
uh. I mean as soon ashe entered the game, I mean
the Clippers are running. I meanhe is a young player, like you
said, he was a twenty twoand they meet that sometime. You meet
somebody just as soon as you getthe rebound, go just go and and
try to score. And he didthat. So hopefully now that Paul George

(25:37):
is not playing, he could comein and sparked the team. And like
Norwegil said, he does kind ofremind me of Lou Williams and uh,
so hopefully he plays them more anduh and and do you know plays the
right uh players in the fourth courtlike he did today and the Clippers should
should be fine. So I'll bethere on Saturday at him for the game.

(26:00):
So thank you for taking the fuckingall right, hiber I appreciate the
phone call. He found a vitsazoobots for a huge dunk in the third
I mentioned the lab to Russell Westbrook. I think he got Mason plumly and
easy one. But yeah, thatwas the camp coming in. This guy
looks a lot like not just inplay but body type. Sweet Low Williams,

(26:23):
a Clipper legend, the underground goat. So it was a welcome sight
to see him get run tonight andto run out there pushed the pace.
You wanted to change the energy ofa game. They got a couple of
guys that can do it instantly. He and Terrence Mann. They just completely
changed the complexion and the trajectory ofthe ball game. But Bones no fear.

(26:48):
Shots from the outside get into thebasket, getting good looks for others.
I think more so than even justhis three points shooting, he got
them into their actions and into theiroffense and into playing Clippers basketball with that
drive kick swing philosophy. One morebefore we break here, Let's go to

(27:08):
Danny in Lapoinza, Danny, what'sup here? Cliper Stock without amslin Hey
andm just kind of take them timefrom the previous color and loved the Terrence
men and Bones minutes both or plusthirty two bought a lot of energy on
both ends, and ty Lukana mentionedthe next man of mentality. Do you
think they're gonna try to use someof their depth or more of their depth
and stick with hot hands? Sometimesit thoes like ty lukan Tyson four certain

(27:32):
players into the lineup, le mean, what do you what do you think
about that? If tonight is anyindication, Yes, they rode the hot
hand in the group that made thatbig run to end the third quarter into
the fourth, even with Kawhi playingtwelve straight minutes. I don't think all
season long, Kawhi has gone fromplaying the entire third to starting in the
fourth quarter, because that's typically PaulGeorge time, he'd get the first five

(27:57):
minutes of the four after resting latein the third. Couldn't afford to do
that in this one, and theycouldn't afford to not continue to build on
that momentum in the run that theymade to end the third, where they
hit four three pointerers, Bones hittwo of them, but twomb hit one,
Kawhi Leonard hit one. The floodgateshad opened, and it continued into

(28:19):
the fourth. They hit eleven oftheir last fifteen attempts from three. Clippers

(29:30):
and there was action back and forthand they were going on a scoring spree.
There was another game happening with theUCLA Bruins taking on Gonzaga, and
no one got a glance of iton a TV nearby and went into dual

(29:52):
broadcaster mode. This is some threeD five D chess stuff with the young

with the Clippers up eighty nine toseventy eight. If he's got twenty eight
points for the thunder. Leonard leadsall scorers with thirty. We'll just Alexander
will try to make this a twofor one opportunity ten seconds to shoot forty
five to play in the third thatwe'll being shaded by Batoum and man A.
SGA drives to his right Annyway eurostep through the two of them,
and they're gonna call the foul onthe way up on Batoum. So gil

(30:37):
just Alexander will shoot two. Withthirty seven point seven seconds remain a year
and a chance to crack thirty himself. Highland has eleven off the bench for
the Clippers, Westbrook has nineteen.Leonard leads all scores with thirty. Oklahoma
City led by Sga with twenty eight. Going to the line for two more.
Giddy's got sixteen, Jaylen Williams ifSanta Claro's got fourteen and SGA hits

(30:59):
the first to make it eighty nineseventy nine Clippers by ten thirty seven point
seven seconds remaining two missus from DrewTimmy at the free throw line, UCLA
has a chance to tie or takethe lead. With twenty seconds left.
Sca second free throw is good eightynine eighty thirty seven point seven seconds left.
A three for a Maori Bailey wasgood for UCLA twelve point two seconds
left. They have a one pointlead. Meanwhile, Highlands top with the

(31:22):
key with thirty seconds left in thethird and I think but Toomb hits the
three right after that. It wasincredible. No Eagle working on two different
planes of existence. It was inception. It was crazy. But what a
call. Clipper Nation lucky to havethem as they win one twenty seven to

(31:44):
one oh five. Unfortunately, theBruins would lose seventy nine to seventy six
two Gonzaga. All right, Derekin Silver Lake, Derek, what's up?
I'm picking my jaw up off thefloor from that Noah call pretty saying
stuff, my friend, Yes,sir, the Master, the young go

(32:05):
the young Goat. We love tosee it. I gotta say we liked
the Clippers. Kawhi Leonard had anamazing upfishing game. Again. Is there
anyone more efficient as a superstar rightnow in the NBA? I will say
no, especially for someone who's nota big man, who's not taking all
his shots within five feet of thebasket. Kawhi is doing special stuff out

(32:28):
there. I totally agree. Seventyfive percent from three point thirteen of fifteen
from field goal. I have somany likes. I loved Kawai tonight.
I loved Westbrook. Obviously we've beentalking about Highland. Can I give you
some of my dislikes? Things toimprove rooms for improvement. All right,
we'll take it, but go easy, all right, I will be kind.

(32:50):
I will be kind. The firstis I love Russell Westbrook tonight twenty
four point seven assists, one block, But man, he had two too
many turnovers. He ended up withfour. There was a couple of passes
right before the end of the firsthalf. I just there's something about it.
Man. If he just plays witha little bit more efficiency, he
would. Let me just say this, though, Derek. One of his

(33:14):
turnovers was a pass on the moneyto a Visa zoobots who wasn't ready for
it. That's not on Russ. You always got to be ready for it.
No, not that one. Notthat one. There was one of
the first half. I'm with you, I'm with you. You you gotta
be ready for that. There wasthere was one where he slung it from

(33:34):
the three point line to the otherside of the court, and I thinks
Shade picked it off. It wasa very cross court pass. He's got
to work on those and he's gottabetter. This is like we know who
Russell Westbrook is at this point. You gotta take the good with the bad.
There's gonna be some of that whenyou have a high usage rating,
when the ball is in your handsa lot, when you're trying to make

(33:55):
things happen out there, turnovers aregonna happen as well. Sometimes keep him
to a minimum, do the bestyou can. I thought he played well
within himself and had some runs inthis His scoring is needed without Paul George
to get twenty four against his formerteam, which is about his average against
them now in eleven contests against OkaySea since he has left. That was

(34:20):
a huge game from Russ. Ididn't think he tried to overly extend himself
or do too much. You know, this wasn't a ten turnover game or
anything like that. And as Imentioned, one of those turnovers is definitely
not on him. So a sevento three turnover ratio, when you take
away that one, it's not badall right. I appreciate the pook called
Terrik anything else? Keep it upall right, Damien in La Damien.

(34:46):
As we keep rolling here on ClippersStock, what's up man, great win,
great win? First stock Man,the young go bro. I was
listening when he did that. Youknow, I just happy to turn on
the app because I was headed outof my car and I said, I
gotta listen. He said, I'mcalling two games. It doesn't matter,

(35:08):
it doesn't matter. I was like, because dude's going ballistic. That is
crazy, bro. I'm glad Igot to hear that live because you know,
when we look back on this guy, that'll be one of the things
that they talk about, you know, and it's Hall of fame whatever,
you know. But getting onto thegame, we had talked about Highland in
Man and the little teaser of timethat they sipped together when we had some

(35:30):
injuries earlier in the season when wefirst got him, and I told you
look out for this Highland and ManCombo. I liked what I saw in
a really small sample, and Ithink this is just, you know,
a sign of good things to comefor those guys. Both plus thirty two,
Adam, Both plus thirty two.So that's a great thing right there.
Plumbly not far behind him with theplus twenty eight. Like I said,

(35:53):
a lot of what he does forus not necessarily gonna show up in
the box score, but happy thatwe have him there. I thought Plumbly
did a much better job defending tonight. He gets out of position sometimes defensively,
he over commits because he's trying alittle bit too hard, and guys
use a lot of pump fakes onhim. But tonight it looked like he

(36:15):
didn't fall for quite as many.So I agree with you, Mason,
plumb is great faker. I thinkwe're I think we're in in NBA history
right now talking about Plumbly effective andefficient defense. So we need to It's
a hallmark day all the way around. You know, you're making history.
I'm making history. No one's makinghistory right now. Plumby's making history.

(36:36):
It's beautiful, all right, David. I appreciate the phone call my friend
Darnell in La. Darnell, you'reon Clippers stop without amslin Hey, Adam,
what's going on? Darnell? Firsttime caller, a long time listener.
Appreciate everything you do, man,I love Clippers talk. Thanks man
Hey got about three points. Numberone. Why man, he's the man.

(37:00):
I have to agree with him.A man Morris from Blonge Beach Cool.
He's on anytime he's on the floor. Man, He's just perfect.
He was obviously perfect in the firstquarter and he did his thing. When
you see today's game from Kawaide Darnel, it makes what happened at the end
of the fourth quarter more baffling andperplexing because he's been so good in big

(37:23):
moments. Today was a big momenthe had to step up. He did.
He starts seven for seven and finishesthirteen of fifteen. Just an otherworldly
superstar performance. Keep rolling Darnell allright right exactly. Number two. The
boots from the bench, man,the energy that Bones Highland and Terrence Man

(37:45):
just brought. Man, it wasit was crazy. We just have one
of the deepest bench in the league. And I feel like with the Paul
George and the Paul George injury,I think we're just gonna be just fine.
If Tyler just continue used to goto our bench and rely on guys
will continue to step up, we'llbe fine. And last point, Russell

(38:08):
Westbrooks, this was probably his bestgame as a Clipper twenty four points.
Man. He was awesome, didhis thing. Take shots that I feel
like, you know, he shouldn'thave, but you end up surprising me
and making them. But at thesame time, I think it was just
an overall great win. All Right, Darnell, I appreciate the phone call
eight six six ninety eight seven twofive seventy you bring up Russell Westbrook there.

(38:30):
Yeah, this may have been hisbest game considering the spot they were
in, knowing they were without PaulGeorge. And I still think you gotta
walk this line. You gotta findthis perfect balance and threat the needle of
doing more without doing too much, without playing outside of yourself, without putting

(38:51):
it all on you, because notone guy can make up where Paul George
does, and Rusted a great balancingact in this game. In his thirty
minut this let's go to as wegot Sean and Englewood. Sean your Clipper
stopp at that, I'm assume Adam, Hey, buddy, how are you
okay? How was that the gametonight? Oh you didn't come say hi?

(39:15):
Didn't I didn't know where you werebecause nor Eagle told me a long
time ago. You don't come tothe game. So I can't come to
certain home games because if there's agame afterwards, I gotta break everything down.
I wouldn't be able to do thepost game show, Sean. But
I am here believe that, okay, So basically I will. Yeah,

(39:37):
but I'm sorry I didn't. Idon't have ESP I didn't know you were
there. But it's all good. What'd you think of the ball game?
Here's the ball game? Okay.So I was explaining to you guys sitting
next to me, is that whenyou are not the star and the stars
are in the game, you go, well, I don't want to I
shouldn't take the shot in the backof your mind, and then when you

(39:58):
take this shot, you're not shoowere confidence? Okay? So when Paul's
not playing and everybody's saying I haveto do my part and nobody's yanking me,
if I take a few shots,then there's more confidence. I mean,
we know Bones Highlands. You don'thave to give me any confidence.
He has it. He just neededto play. So I'm glad he got

(40:19):
a chance to play. I don'tknow what was the matter with Marcus Morris,
but he didn't have it tonight, and I really couldn't see how he
was in the game that long. But when they took him out, hey,
the streets started, the run started, and you know, no knock
on Mark Morris. He's a goodplayer, but you know he didn't have

(40:40):
it tonight, and he's not He'sbeen a pretty deep funk. He's been
a pretty deep yeah, and he'sjust really not my prototypical power forward,
just gonna go in and get yourchine love and rebound, you know.
So you know, if he's notshooting, he's got the same thing with
Conark and ours. Not shooting anyhitting, then he's not a value on

(41:02):
the floor. So if he's nothitting the shot, then he's not doing
He's got like four rebounds for thegame, you know, So it is
not any other production you're going toget out of markets if he's got shooting.
But overall, not just Marcus,it was a good game. I
can see how everybody was relaxed intheir role. I can tell you that
much. I did want Russell todrive even more because there are time with

(41:27):
that speed, I felt he couldhave just took everybody on the floor,
and he held up. Because Ican tylwis in his hand saying, we
want you to hold up, wewant you to facilitate. But other than
that, I looked at the Clippersschedule, the nine games left, including
today, and I think they canpull off seven and two. I really
do, with who they're playing. And but I'll take six and three.

(41:51):
You know they put them in theplayoffs and put there's eight games left,
so you're gonna have to readjust thoserecords. Did you not hear me say,
including today's game? Okay? Isaid, and two, Hey,
I'll take Yeah. He gotta bringthat outitude in here. You didn't even
say hi to me earlier yet,I said hi, And how are you

(42:13):
doing? My friend? Okay, but not in person. I need to
see you in person, Sean.We gotta hang out of the game sometime,
all right, I would love to. All right, Sean, I
appreciate the phone call. Eight sixsix ninety eight seven two five seventy eight
six six ninety seven two five seventybefore we break Taylor in Huntington Beach.
Taylor's good, how are we doing? It's grand Taylor here. We just

(42:36):
wanted to say. We were atthe game tonight and man, it was
beautiful. Oh, I was cookingto start that game out, and I
mean Russ had to go in andchecking in Bones and Man at the same
time. It was beautiful work byTyrone Lou. It was beautiful. You
gotta give coach Lou a lot oflove tonight for the rotations and pushing the

(42:58):
right buttons at the right time. But it started with about five minutes left
in that first quarter when Bones andTerrence Man came into the ball game.
It was great to see anything else. Taylor Roco just staying ready. It's
so big for these Clippers, andeveryone talks about our depth and the fact
that as soon as they get theirchance, they're ready. It really proves

(43:19):
the Clippers can really make this runand Paul George is going to come back
to the first round or not. We're gonna be ready and I think we
can really make a big push inthis playoff season. I think the Clippers
are ready to do it and wereally proved that tonight. Love it,
Taylor, Appreciate the phone call andto your point of staying ready. Bones
Highland hadn't played since March third, twenty days ago. In that one point

(43:40):
loss up in Sacktown and he didn'thave a good game. He was one
for nine, took nine shots intwelve minutes. I love it though,
Sometimes young players, you gotta havean irrational confidence when you haven't already made
your name. Austin Rivers used tohave some of that. You take tough
shots, sometimes bad shots, butyou gotta believe in yourself and you'll progress

(44:05):
from there. And Bones Highlands twentytwo and they got him for two second
round picks. Let's steal all right, more Clipper stock. Next, we'll
have Chuck Mockler on from Clips andDip. We'll get back to your phone
calls you'll hear from Bones Highland,Clip Clip Clippers flip the switch on,
okay see in the second half. They end up winning one twenty seven to

(44:27):
one oh five over the Thunder.Next game coming up Saturday, right back
here in downtown Los Angeles, they'retaking on the Pelicans, and you're listening
to Clippers Stock here on amp byseventy l A Sports. Oh. Paul
George LA Clippers Basketball continue facing hispains as he carries the three on the
home of your LA Clippers. Clipperswin one twenty seven to one old five

(44:50):
over the OKAC Thunder. They bouncedback after losing by one in disastrous fashion
in a few different ways. Aboss final possession on Tuesday Night, Paul
George going down last forty eight hoursmust have felt like a whirlwin for a
lot of these players and coach louBut they had a laser focus and came
out firing, especially in the secondhalf. They end up eighteen to thirty

(45:15):
seven from the outside. That's fortynine from three. You hear the music
that means we got cliffs and doubledip here. Chuck Mockler is on with
us. Chuck, was this justa hot shooting game from the Clippers or
was there more going on here?I think there was a little more going
on here. I think we sawKawhi Leonard potentially going to his final form.

(45:38):
He was unbelievable in this game.It didn't make any sense. I
think I tweeted out from the clipperspot account that he was in We're not
going to lose this damn game mode, and right after nothing in the personal
five oh run. So this wasfantastic to see. I don't know how
much of you know this Bone Terrancecombination we're gonna see in the playoffs during

(46:00):
this regular season push. I reallyhoped, HOWU you know, we see
it more against the Pells because Bonesand Terrence together is a lot of energy,
it's a lot of fun, whichthe Clippers haven't had, you know,
on the court too much this season, and they were effective tonight.
So if those guys are hot,I really hope we see more of that
period. Terrence Man at twenty sevenminutes, Bones Highland at twenty five.

(46:20):
Kawhi finishes just thirty four minutes.Because the Clippers won this one running away
with it. You know, it'sfunny. I was watching Kawhi Leonard warm
up as I usually do because it'sjust it's I've been all He's one of
the greatest players to ever play thisgame, and I want to see,
you know, his method, andI saw him miss a layup in the

(46:43):
layup line. In warmups, Kawhimisses Moore shots. I swear, having
watched him for years now, warmup pre game, two hours before the
game, two and a half hoursbefore the game. He misses more shots
there than he does in game. He's more comfortable once the game starts.
He comes out seven for seven andthey were all mid range shots. Or

(47:05):
three pointers. It's so incredible.I just I can't say enough about his
performance, so please take over.I mean, I don't know what else
to say. Right, there's nobetter way to show that you are still
one of the best players in theleague than to the game after your counterpart

(47:25):
goes down, you come out andgo seven for seven and then play also
good defense. He wasn't just doingon the offensive enda. He was playing
great defense the thunder also on thesecond half of trying to get really physical
with Kawai. He only ends upwith one turnover in the second half,
which is absolutely fantastic. Three assists, I mean, he h did with
four steals like this was. Thiswas one of his best regular season games

(47:47):
as a Clipper, and tomorrow aphrase that you love so much. Something
may have been born from this Kawhiperformance. There's been a lot of berths
so far this season, optomm didn'thave his main births. Is what's going
on with the Clippers with eight gamesremaining, by the way, now,
okay, let's talk about I thoughtRussell Westbrook maybe had his best game as

(48:10):
a Clipper, and I thought thegame against the Golden State Warriors was very
good. You saw the adjustments asopposed to the first game as a Clipper
against them. But considering no PaulGeorge, you know you still have to
play within yourself. As much asyou want to pick up the slack.
No one player can do that.No one can replace what Paul George does
for this team. You can doit by committee, though, And I

(48:31):
think Russ elevated himself just enough whilenot trying to do too much or playing
outside of himself. And I'm gonnasay it, he only had three turnovers.
One of those was on a visaZubas, so twenty four point seven
assists to three turnovers on eight ofthirteen shooting, and there was a play
where he passed up on a threepoint shot, got into the paint,

(48:52):
got the end one. I lovethis game from Russell Westbrook. Yeah,
this was. It's funny you saidhe has three turn members because two of
them were pretty pretty brutal. Ithink the first half of this game was
the bad part of the story andthe second half, thankfully for the Clippers,
was the good part. We didsee a little bit of the bad
from Rusk. He had an illadvised three early in the shot clock.

(49:14):
The thunder then went and scored onBut you're right, this is where we
are. You know, we needRest to be this efficient kind of all
the time. Now with Paul Georgeout, we know Tyley's going to lean
on him. I thought ty pickedhis spots with rust. Well tonight there
has been an interesting trend where youknow, we're getting a packed paint when
Russ is out there because they're daringus to shoot it. And thankfully we

(49:37):
saw Nick Batum see a couple ofthrees go in, which has been a
bit of a rarity from him,you know, since we all Star break.
So I'm hoping now maybe some guysare rounding into form and we won't
just see the pack the paint defensewhen Russ is on the floor. But
he was good. He was hewas what we needed him to be.
I hope I can continue on Saturday. And Batum was a bit of fish

(50:00):
area of great ball movement in paceout there. Drive kicks swing was certainly
in effect thanks to Bones Highland, thanks to Terrence Man, thanks to Russell
Westbrook. He hadn't hit let's seemore than two three pointers in a game.
Since they're one point loss up inSacramento. You know, three weeks
ago, so for him to seethe ball go through the hoop at that

(50:22):
rate four of six from the outside. We're on the season, he's still
at thirty eight percent. It's justbeen feast or famine with Nick Batoum,
But that would be a big developmentright now for him to start to get
things going from the outside once againnow that they're missing Paul George, because
they have to make up for someof that shooting and that efficiency from distance.
Yeah, and Tyler said it rightin the pregame press conference. No

(50:44):
one guy is gonna makeup what PaulGeorge can do. But they have a
lot of guys who can make upparts of what Paul George can do.
One of those parts is outside shooting. I'm really happy this game for Miko
happened at home. He got tofeel the crowd, feel the love a
bit. And I do want togive a shout out to the fans at
the arena the night I was upthere and the press box and people were

(51:04):
excited. This wasn't your usual, you know, Thursday night game against the
Thunder after a rough injury. Like, the crowd was fantastic in this game,
and yeah, I mean everyone cametogether. Roku even got some minutes,
which is how you know things areeither going really bad or really good
for the Clippers, So you know, the second half of something they can

(51:25):
hang their hat on. Wouldn't worryso much about the first half. Yeah,
just a great way to bounce backafter what you know, you mentioned
a pretty horrible forty eight hours.Yeah, they kind of were up and
down in the first half. Theyhad their moments, but they put it
all together in the second half andthe hot shooting from the outside carried them
through. But what are you thinkis going to happen with Bones Highland now?

(51:47):
Because he is such a need youexpect him the rest of these eight
games to play fifteen to twenty minutesnight. Is it just going to be
case by case basis? Whoever ishot they're gonna roll with. I think
we'll see it on a case bycase basis. You know, Eric Gordon
ty said is going to be thestarter for the rest of the season,
which obviously isn't that many games. But he only had seven minutes in the

(52:10):
second half, right Bone Thayland hadseventy. So if Bones is hot and
things are working, Tyler is absolutelygonna let him, you know, run
it out and see if he cankeep the you know, whatever amant him
he has going. I don't again, I don't know if that translates to
the playoffs at all. I don'tknow what the rotation is going to be
in the playoffs. You know, worm is still he's not going to be

(52:35):
you know with us this weekend, but he should be on the road trip.
So I think it's going to bea hot hand, and I think
we're gonna be kind of you know, flying by the seat of our pants
here. But I guess there's nobetter coach to have, you know,
in that situation than taylu Clippers wentone twenty seven, one five over the
Okase Thunder. He is Charles Mocklerfrom the Clips and Dip Pod. We
got a tripod coming up tomorrow withmyself and will up to Charles. Thanks

(53:00):
for the double dip accent here onClippers Talk tonight, my friend. Absolutely,
I'm just happy I get to comeon for a win. I wish
you would have came and seen me, though I already had one caller who
gave me the stiff arm tonight, and now we didn't take a picture.
I thought we were going to havea moment, but that's cool. The
Clippers did on the court, soeverything's fine. Everything's fine. I'm not

(53:20):
gonna get all jelly. Thanks Jack. We'll talk to you tomorrow. That's
good. Thanks that coming up nextyour phone calls eight six six ninety eight
seven two five seventy eight six sixninety at seven two five seventy is the
phone number. Clippers big victory thanksto some big three pointers. Even though
Eric Gordon didn't play much in thesecond half, he still hit a couple
of his patented deep threes after startingslow. I like him in the starting

(53:44):
lineup. Stability, reliability, avet. It's been good for this team
since he's been back. More Clippersstock next year on NAM five seventy only
sports, Oh Paul George La Clippersbasketball continue fis in his face as he
carry's the three on the home ofyour LA Clippers. Okay, now triple

(54:04):
doubs tonight, but the Clippers werewell over triple digits scoring wise. One
twenty seven to one oh five isyour final score. Clippers win over the
Okay see thunder eight six six ninetyseven two five seventy. Let's go to
Mike in La. Here on Clippersstop Without'm awesome him, Mike, Hey,
Adam, so great win, greatwin. Tonight was the first game

(54:25):
in a while that was actually fun. And but I just want to also
emphathize. I know everybody's talking about, oh well when we get to the
playoffs, the playoffs, despite thenight's winner, not a short thing.
Still, I was just looking atthe Western Conference standings and the difference between
the fourth seed and the twelfth seedis only three games. Mike, You're

(54:47):
appreciance at the choir. How manytimes have I screamed here on Clippers talk,
nothing is guaranteed. No, Iknow, I know, I'm just
I'm backing you up here. U. That was the only point I wanted
to make. We still gotta, you know, take care of business in
these coming games, and you know, hopefully we do. The sense of

(55:08):
urgency cannot stop to piggyback up yourpoint pedal to the medal. Thank you,
Mike. I appreciate the phone call. Dominic in La. You're on
Clippers stop without I'm awesome, Dominic. What's up, hey, Adam?
How's it going. I don't geta lot of Clippers ready. I'm from
Arizona. Don't get a lot ofClippers ready out there. And I didn't
catch this game, but I sawthe first original game against the Thunder,

(55:31):
and my biggest question is, Idon't know if this has been brought up
before, but I heard previous callerssaying Marks Morris didn't have the greatest game
to night. My question is,I don't know what we're gaining from having
him out there. He's not thedefender he's been great for us over the
years. He's not the best defenderanymore. He's not hitting open shots.

(55:54):
I don't I've seen Tyler have ashort lease with a bunch of other players.
I don't know why we're continuing toplay Marcus Morris these minutes and put
him in the starting role and wehave more capable players on the bench.
I don't. To me, Idon't know. I don't know what's going
on with that. Well, Iappreciate the phone call, Dominic. I've
gotten a lot of calls about thisover the last couple of months. Like

(56:15):
coach lou believes in Marcus Morrise thathe's gonna come around, that he's gonna
find his shooting stroke, and he'sbeen one of the consistent starters on this
team in the two one three era, and yeah, I'm hoping Marcus Morris,
we talked about progression to the meanfrom this Clippers team from the outside.
I think eventually it's going to happenwith him as well. A quill
in La a quill you're on Clippers. Stop with that. I'm astin close

(56:37):
things out quickly here. Hey,thanks for having me all. I wanted
to call in and and really justtalk about something a little bit different tonight.
I want to actually celebrate the amazinghistorically black colleges and universities, which

(56:58):
is a tradition for my family tocome out. I'm a graduate of Langston
University in the state of Oklahoma, and I graduated from their physical therapy program,
and I think we need to makesure that we're highlighting this beautiful,
festive event and it the game wasamazing, and I just wanted to call

(57:21):
in and celebrate with everybody tonight withall the Divine nine organizations that was present.
And one of the things about Iwanted to chime in on what I
think is going on with Marcus Morrison. I I think we junct of Russell

(57:42):
Westbrook. I think he's finding hisrhythm, and so it's gonna take a
little while. One of the questionsthat I have is not so much about
Marcus Morrison, but why we're notusing I just had to I just had
a break Cot. I can't,for the life of me understand why he

(58:06):
stuck on the bench. Defensively,he's great, Offensively is pretty good.
Can you chime in on that forme? Well, I appreciate the phone
call and you bring it up hbcU nite here. It was a great
celebration here. I appreciate the phonecall and the words, yeah, Robert
Covington. It kind of ties inwith the conversation with Marcus Morris. We've

(58:28):
been talking about it for a longtime. I don't have a good answer
for you outside of coach Lewis rollingwith Marcus Morris. Marcus was huge when
they got to the Western Conference finalsin twenty twenty one, and he's been
great playing next to Kawhi Leonard andPaul George. There's always so many minutes
to go around, and Robert Covingtonseems to be the odd man out,
the tenth man on this team currently. All right, before we get out
