know he's feeling good. Take theshow with you anywhere you are and Nation
Baby, get the podcast. I'mthe iHeart Radio while and now your host.

(00:29):
Leonard and the Clippers would take downthe Phoenix Suns with a one thirteen to
one ZHO three victory at Staples Censor. Welcome into Clippers Talk. I'm Atam
Oslin to eight six six nine eightseven two five seventy eight six sixty nine
eight seven two five seventy is thephone number if you'd like to get on.

(00:49):
Have you been Ronda owned lately?Jen Rondo had his best game as
a Clipper, just his third game, but had fifteen points and nine assist.
The apology line is open. Youknow who you are, you know
what you said when they made themove forward Gen Rondo. It looks to

(01:10):
be paying dividends already for the Clippers. While we have a moment, though,
let's pause ten seconds for station identificationhere on A five seventy Early Sports
LA Clippers Basketball A five seventy KLACLos Angeles eight seven KYSR HD to Los
Angeles and iHeart Radio Station eight sixsix nine eight seven two five seventy is
the phone number still to come hereon the show here on Clippers Stock,

(01:34):
we'll have the head coach Tlu.Hopefully we'll have some er Gen Rondo audio
or some PG thirteen or some KawhiLeonard. But this was one of the
best wins of the year. Ofcourse for your Los Angeles Clippers. We've
talked about this. We've said thisa lot post All Star Break because of
the type of defense they've been playing, which has led to easy offense.

(01:56):
They hold the Phoenix Suns to onehundred and three point tonight. The Sun's
average one fourteen per game. Nobody'sbeen better defensively when it comes to the
oppositions points per game since the AllStar Break. Then you're Los Angeles Clippers.
In fact, teams are just averagingone hundred and three points per game
against them. To put that inperspective, now, the Cleveland Cavaliers are

(02:21):
the lowest scoring team in the leagueand they still average one o two the
Clippers defense has been special, ButI thought offensively what happened in that third
quarter with Kawhi Leonard waking up aftera sluggish start for him. He had
four turnovers in the first half, finished with just five, had just eight
points in the first half. ButI think we have the audio of this

(02:46):
because I can't do it justice withoutus hearing the actual call from Noah Eagle
on what may have been the dunkof the year, right to left,
walk piece for Leonard on the frontcourt on the right wing. Now the
four side corner letter crosses over upbridges drives right now, Oh, Kawhi

(03:06):
Leonard, look out? What's yourhead? Kawhi Leonard dunked on the entire
Phoenix Suns and then amiss from Bookeron the other side. Seventy three seventy
two. Unbelievable bounce from the claw. How dare the Phoenix Suns try to
get in transition and run a fastbreak to give everybody the men in black

(03:30):
forget everything you just saw pen flashlike that didn't just happen, Kawhi Leonard.
It's as best dunk as a Clipper. It might be the best dunk
of his career. I'll have togo back. He's had some big ones
in the playoffs for the Rafters overJannison denn't coopo on one leg. That's
one that comes to mind right away. But his twenty seven points and those

(03:53):
two points right there were so key. It wasn't just your typical field goal.
This ignited the Clippers. It ignitedhim. He had eight points in
the first half, he had fourteenin the third quarter alone, had a
beautiful step back three pointer and thethree ball. It was the Clippers friend

(04:15):
once again. They went eighteen ofthirty seven. That's forty eight percent.
They are the best shooting three pointteam in the league. They could go
down his second best all time inthe history of the league. And if
you want to add in their freethrow percentage, you can say they're the
best shooting team of all time.Nobody shot forty percent from three and eighty
percent from the line in a singleseason. But I thought the three point

(04:40):
shot kept them alive when the PhoenixSuns were making runs. There was a
point where they were up by sevenor eight in that third quarter and Marcus
Morris hit a big three pointer,Reggie Jackson hit a big three pointer,
PG thirteen Paul George. He wentseven of nine after going six of nine
last game against the Portland Trail fromthree. What a sight for sore eyes

(05:02):
because as he's playing through a soreright foot right now, he's playing some
of his best basketball once again, looking like PG. Thirteen from the first
half of this season. He's figuredit out somehow with that right toe injury.
And he had thirty three points.Eighteen of them came in the first
half, ten of them came inthe fourth quarter, and something else that

(05:24):
I thought ignited this Clippers team andit was a good thing to see.
Well. Patrick Beverley was ejected fora hard foul. I guess the logic
there is he wasn't making a playon the basketball at all. Was CP
three who did sell it as heis prone to do, the King of
Crafty is some of put it overthe years. But Pat Bev caught him

(05:46):
with an elbow in transition and heraised his hand right away and he owned
it, but he was ejected witha flagrant two. It was a little
bit surprising just because Devin Booker caughtelbow to Kawhi Leonard's throat and it was
just a flagrant one. But thatwas was seven minutes left in the fourth

(06:08):
quarter in a tight game when thatoccurred, that ejection, and sometimes that
can be deflating. You see theheart and soul leave the court like that
with Patrick Beverly, who's so importantto this Clippers team. But the two
one three connection absolutely took over afterthat. They picked up their teammate and

(06:28):
they put that game away along withRashon Rondo. Immediately it was Paul George
and Kawhi Leonard getting it done.Paul George eighteen footer, Kawhi Leonard eleven
footer PG thirteen a three over DeAndreAyton. Not only does he get dunked
on and embarrassed and yammed on likethat from Kawhi Leonard, then a ridiculous

(06:56):
step back three over a seven footerwith his arm outstretch is made by Paul
George in the fourth quarter. Andthese two teams, they don't really like
each other. If you saw theCameron Payne foul on PG thirteen the first
game around, you would know that, and PG thirteen ended them in that

(07:16):
game as well. He had thirtynine points back in January, but I
thought he was even better in someways in this one with the timing of
those big shots that he was ableto hit. But it's also about ra
Gen Rondo being on the court latein the fourth quarter. We don't want
it to say we told you so, or we're on the right side of

(07:38):
history because we thought it was agood move. Is difficult as it was
to see Sweetleew Williams leave the Clippers. Believe me, it still is.
I've been watching him in Atlanta.I saw him put up some big time
fourth quarter numbers recently against the GoldenState Warriors, and I thought to myself,
well, we've seen this over theyear, Low Williams, Sweetleew Williams

(08:01):
against the Golden State Warriors. It'sgood to see him back home, though,
and on a team that is goingto be a playoff team and they
can do damage. The Atlanta Hawksare very talented, but that element,
that passing element, and just theveteran savvy and that ice in his veins
that Rajen Rondo does have. PlayoffRondo's a thing. Finals Rondo's a thing.

(08:26):
Nationally televised Rondo is a thing too. Going up against CP three,
Rondo is a thing. Maybe yousaw them go fisticuffs a few years back
when Chris Paul was on the HoustonRockets. Those two guys they don't like
each other. And Jen Rondo canbe an irritant and I say that affectionately,
the same way Patrick Beverley can be, and there's nothing wrong with that.

(08:50):
It seems to bring out the bestin his teammates, and he often
gets into the opposition's head. ChrisPaul had just thirteen points. He had
almost half of those points. It'son the first quarter. He started off
hot, just had three assists.I believe he averages eight per game.
You can make the case where genRondo off the bench, and I will
make the case definitely outplayed him tonightwith his defense, with his big playability,

(09:15):
hitting that three pointer in the faceof CP three late, the dagger
three, as Noah Eagle called it. It was. It put the game
away. Clippers led by as manyas sixteen in that fourth quarter. But
he also found Kawhi Leonard for aneasy dunk where he was fouled. This
is what we're talking about. It'snot that Kawai and Paul George aren't good

(09:37):
facilitators. They've grown leaps and boundsin that area in their game. But
to have Rondo setting the table andorchestrating everything like the maestro he is,
it's a thing of beauty to watch. And it takes a lot of the
onus off of the plate of Kauaiand PG. Thirteen, and they have

(09:58):
more energy therefore late in games. It's not hard to see. And I
just couldn't believe how many people weredown on Gen Rondo because the way he
was playing in Atlanta on a teamthat likely isn't in contention for a ring.
We know the deal. Rondo's fooled, y'all before trick, y'all is
this is who he is. Hewants to win. He wants to be

(10:22):
competing for rings. He has twoof them, and he already talked about
how he wants to help get thisClippers team their first ring in franchise history.
But nine assists, fifteen points injust nineteen minutes, three of four
from downtown. I was fighting peopleoff Twitter recently or going back and forth
with people saying, well, JonRondo, you know, just thirty one

(10:45):
percent shooter from the outside for hiscareer. Well let's look at that,
Let's look at the details of that. A little bit because his first nine
years in Boston he shot only twentysix percent from three. He wasn't a
shooter at all. It was awkward, It was worse than Lonzo at his
worst at times, but he improvedin that area his last six years.

(11:09):
Now, Gen Rondo has been shootinga league average thirty six percent from three,
and has obviously been much better thanthat in the fourth quarter. So
what's more representative of who he isas a player from beyond the ark,
who he was fifteen years ago onthe Boston Celtics, or who he's been
the last five years. I thinkthat's the case, and he's gonna get

(11:33):
even more open three pointers now withyour Los Angeles Clippers. They win one
thirteen to one oh three over thePhoenix Suns. Coming up, we'll get
to your phone calls. I seethe lines are lit up. Eight six
six nine eighty seven two five seventyeight six six nine eight seven two five
seventy is the phone number. Theapology line is open for Sean Rondo.

(11:56):
If you were a doubter, ifyou were a detractor, that's okay.
You can jump back on board. Now after a game like this, we'll
get to your phone calls coming up. Clippers now winners of ten of their
last thirteen, but they just tookdown the hottest team in the league.
Phoenix Suns had one twenty eight oftheir last thirty four games. Coming into

(12:20):
this one. They had one nineof ten. They just beat the Utah
Jazz last night and the Clippers theyhold them to one oh three. This
defense is for real. Clamp Cityhas arrived. More Clippers stack coming up
next. You're on a five seventyLA Sports Stagger, Paul George. This

(12:46):
is the official home of your LAClippers. Don't miss a moment of Clippers
basketball all season. Log right toleft, walk pace for Leonard on the
front court on the right wing. Now the four side corner letter crosses over
on bridges. Drive right, Oh, Kawhi Leonard, look out, what's

(13:09):
your head? Kawhi Leonard dunked onthe entire Phoenix Suns and then a miss
from Booker on the other side.Seventy three seventy two unbelievable bouts from the
claw. I don't know if that'sa solar eclipse or a lunar eclipse,
but Kawhi Leonard absolutely got DeAndre Aytonin a bad position and had bad intentions

(13:33):
at the rim, as Noah Eaglewould also say, he caught a body
and Aiden went scoreless the rest ofthe way after he was eaten in the
third quarter where he had eight ofhis eighteen points. But Kawhi has twenty
seven and the Clippers win one thirteento one oh three over the Phoenix Suns.
At Staples cents here, welcome backinto clipperstock. I'm at a Moslin

(13:56):
eight six six nine eight seven twofive seventy eight nine eight seven two five
seventy is the phone number. I'mmaking a case for that dunk on Andre
Aiden by Kawhi Leonard to be thedunk of the year and as high as
Anthony Edwards jumped. I can't rememberthe guy that he threw down on,

(14:16):
and I don't believe he was asinner, and certainly not someone of the
status of DeAndre Ayden, who isa really good m protector, shoplocker and
a young player who probably thought hehad a really good chance of getting Kawhi
Leonard there. And I credit guysthat actually attempt to block shots. The
only way you get dunked on isif you take chances like that Matambo got

(14:41):
dunked on a tont and also blockedintent of shots. Plenty of guys have
been in that position before, andAiden gave everything he had. But Kawhi
Leonard those bunnies that we've been talkingabout post All Star Break, where he's
been averaging almost two dunks per game, it looks like he's ramping up and

(15:01):
in peak physical condition for the playoffs. I haven't seen him like this since
twenty seventeen with the Spurs, beforeZaza stepped underneath him and injuries followed.
This is as healthy as we haveseen Kawhi Leonard since then, indicative by
the fact that he is playing onback to backs this season. But he's

(15:22):
had so many throwdowns and that oneabsolutely stands at the top. His best
dunk is a clipper so far, considering the circumstances, considering the player who
is protecting the rim, that hasto be number one eight six six nine
eight seven two five seventy is thephone number. Sean and Inglewoods shout out

(15:43):
Tom loud, no man, doublea how you living? Oh? I
mean, we're all living good afterthis except for Charles Barkley. Credit him
a little bit for this win aswell as earlier in the broadcast, he
said the club weren't for real,They're not a contender on TNT, which

(16:03):
is usually good news because he isprone to be widely inaccurate with his predictions.
So yeah, you gotta feel goodabout that as well. What's up
those Sean? I add to thattoo. How many rings does Barkley has?
Well? Oh well, he lostto MJ and he played great in
that series. What do you want? Yeah, But one of the things

(16:26):
I want to say is that, first of all, they played so well,
and our starting center hasn't even beenaround for about a month, so
I mean, and then you know, that's an interesting uh point. We'll
see what happens because if za Zuboshas played so well, he's making his

(16:48):
own case of being the starting centeragain. But you're right either way,
Sirgebaka is a huge part of thisteam, right, and we have depth
a Bookie Cousins didn't even play, and I like the way he played Sunday.
And I'll tell you this. Oneof the things I really have to
say is that when Rondo was inthe fourth quarter and it looked like the

(17:11):
play was broken down, I thinkRondo looked like he didn't have anybody to
throw the ball too on purpose, and then he threw that bounce pass to
Leonard. He controls things. Heshows his values in so many ways,
and you can just see a differentenergy, a different flow. And when
you got a really good passer onthe floor, it makes you cut harder,

(17:33):
it makes you look to be rewarded, and it just a flow in
the energy just goes a lot ofa lot better. And I see that
in the theme. I see himgetting better every game. And I'll listen
to your comment now, great phonecall, as always, Sean. He's
getting better by the game, andit's just game three with him wearing a

(17:53):
Clippers uniform. He had and Idon't like to say this because I'm too
old, but he had a sickPaul fake under the basket. He faked
out multiple guys as if he wasgonna kick out I think kick out pass
to Nick Batum in the corner. They were, they were wise to it,
but instead he kept the ball, got Devin Booker in the air for

(18:15):
the foul. He had multiple greatassists in the ball game. He had
a given go in the first halfwith Pat pat that led to free throws
and then he got Patrick Patterson awide open dunk. He found Batoum the
next possession for an easy one. That all happened, I believe. In
the second quarter, ra Gen Rondothe spinning lay up. The next time

(18:40):
down he hits Paul George for anopen layup. Tell me this is the
same guy you saw in Atlanta andsaid was washed. Tell me that because
it ain't the truth. I'm sorry. You had to know when they brought
in ra Gen Rondo they were gonnaget the best version of him, because
this guy's a champion and he wantsmore. He wants more, and I

(19:04):
think he's the perfect fit for thisClippers team. Noah Eagle and I have
talked about it a lot. Welove to move and so far, so
great. Let's go to Jose andsouth Gate. Jose, what's up?
What's up? Adam? Once again? Thank you man. You know it's
a real Clipper saying yes, sayit's one of those nights you don't want

(19:26):
to go to street. Got along driving tomorrow, Campaig Now were text
my white last many things he getsfrom the story. I'm emptying and repacking
the cooler one story short back onthe a and fight Symy. So it's
only right. Clippers showed out subspringhere Shawa, they were number two.
Adian was cilling mess and then Iguess it's some type of you class because
the last thing he saw it wasnumber two and uh Rondo, Oh that's

(19:48):
just we We don't want to giveRondo. We're doing cool with Pat and
Leggie, but we had a giveRondo so they had to see what you
know, while we got him,so they he already with the championship on
story short anyway, say yeah,I like called Zuba. He stayed in
there just seeing about it everything butalso eating with eating him up and do
the same game. Now you knowwe're gonna let's go Clippers. Thank you

(20:14):
for the phone call, Jose andSouthgate. He's a regular here. Let's
go Clippers. Uh if Beta Zubasstruggled at times, I thought he and
Kawhi Leonard didn't look right for partof this game, including when DeAndre Ayton
was going off in that third quartertill Kawhi Leonard to put a stop to
it with that dunk he had withthat giant throwdown. But that's what can

(20:37):
happen from plays like that. Themomentum swing can be drastic and it can
happen quickly, and the Clippers reallytook control of the game from that point
on. Kawhi Leonard had fourteen pointsin the third after just eight in the
first half. Who let's go totay Just and Walnut Tay Just, what's

(20:59):
up, hey, Adam? Greatwin. You know it's crazy. I
was thinking Clippers leave the NBA andthree point percentage, and I think that
number could even go higher with Rondo. Now, when we thought, you
know, that they're shooting was maybenot sustainable. But here here seems like

(21:19):
we're going to get more open threes. And we've been showing all year that
open, if our guys are open, you know pretty much everyone can knock
it down on the floor. AndI just love the way that, you
know, Rondo sets everyone up inposition to succeed. He's letting PG just

(21:40):
focus on scoring, KAUI can focuson scoring. It takes a lot of
pressure of And I also wanted tosay that I'm going to mention the top
five teams that we in the Westthat we think are contenders, the Clippers,
the Lakers, the Nuggets, theSuns, and the Jazz and those

(22:03):
five teams at them is crazy istheir championship contenders, but in the first
round one of them has to beeliminated, and we think, yeah,
so when you think about it's prettycrazy that you can go being from a
contender and one of them will beout in the first round at least one.
So when I was looking at itlike that, I was just like,

(22:25):
Wow, the West is just reallyloaded. But what's really you know,
encouraging, is that we we haven'teven hit our stride yet. We're
still trying to figure out lineup androtations. We don't get everyone back.
I think we seem the best thatPhoenix can play, the best that Utah
can can play. Lakers, youknow, they're hurt, they're depleted,
they're going to be there. Theonly one that I think that Nuggets are

(22:48):
the peak form and I think they'rethe ones that you know, you really
got to watch for. But Ithink everyone else, uh, you know,
I think I feel I feel goodabout matching up with ten Tages.
Thank you for the phone call.As always in great commentary there on the
Western Conference. I do think theDenver Nuggets well and then their record since

(23:11):
bringing him in. Aaron Gordon wouldsay so, but they got a lot
better. It's just a perfect fitthere. I said, it's a match
made in heaven or at least amile high. But that was the right
guy for them to get to thatnext level. But as you say,
there are some teams that look tobe peaking. The Utah Jazz when they

(23:33):
won twenty one of twenty three games, that's probably going to be their best
stretch, even though they're still playingreally well. They've won eight of ten.
The Phoenix Suns, they've won twentyeight of their last thirty four games
coming into tonight. Hottest teams sinceJanuary first, But the Clippers, I
still feel like they have two morenotches to go. I said this all

(23:56):
last season, but they could getto a place that I don't think anyone
else could meet them at. Thequestion was how often they got there and
how long would they stay there? And they were two inconsistent. Now there
is one team, maybe two.I'll give the Lakers that they are the
champs that could meet them there. But the Brooklyn Nets also have levels.

(24:21):
They've only had I think seven gamesso far with Kyrie Irving, with Kevin
Durant and James Harden all three ofthose guys out there on the floor.
We'll take a quick break. Clippersclosed to within two games of the two
seed. They are just two gamesback of the Phoenix Suns after they win
one thirteen to one. H threementioned New Jersey, Jeff and Tarzana others.

(24:47):
I don't know that I'll screen duringthe break. Hold on. Plus,
my friend Nick Hamilton will be hereafter the Clippers get one of their
most exciting wins of the season, needed victories because of where they are in
the standings with Phoenix. These twoteams still play each other one more time,
but even more impressively, Phoenix wasready. If you listen to those

(25:11):
guys post game after beating Utah lastnight, they had circled this game.
They had won it the Clippers afterthe Clippers beat them in Phoenix earlier in
the season, and Nicholas batoum wentBa Boom hit that big three pointer in
the corner off that pass from PGthirteen, and this one, though the
Clippers took control in the second half, it was Kawhi Leonard, and the

(25:32):
third it was PG thirteen or GenRondo and Kawahi, and the fourth when
they win by ten more Clippers sawcoming up next right here on five seventy
LA sports Stagger Paul George. Thisis the official home of your LA Clippers.
Don't miss some moment of Clippers basketballall season. Law I heard you

(25:56):
got the leaf the flay up.Somebody said you had it going. I
heard about the people. The PhoenixSuns shoot fifty percent from the field and
only put up one hundred and threepoints thanks to swarming, scrappy Clippers defense
that forced fifteen turnovers. They wouldturn that into twenty six points of their

(26:17):
own. They only turned the ballover eleven times after I think, having
eight turnovers at the half. Theycleaned things up and they win one thirteen
to one h three over the PhoenixSuns at Staples Center. Welcome back into
Clippers talk. I'm atam oslins eightsix six nine eight seven two five seventy.
Let's go to Joe and North Hills. What's up, Joe? What

(26:37):
do you know, Adam? Whenwhen we traded, Lou I wrote Lawrence
Frank and nasked the emails, sayingto trade was stupid and disloyal. Now
I still think it's disloyal, butit's far from stupid. Uh, Rondo's

(26:59):
Rondos can take charge. Kenny Smithsaid a couple of weeks ago that we
lacked a point guard to control thegame of the fourth quarter, and it
showed tonight. Paul George said afterthe game that with these point guards,
I don't have to think about playingpoint guard. I can just think about
scoring and give giving all my energyto scoring. This. This is the

(27:23):
right last piece. I was wrong. Joe. You're a big man for
admitting that. Please. I know, I know you're not a Staples Center
right now, and everybody loves thecall in show when they're driving home,
but regardless, put on a fiveseventy radio or the Patriot Am eleven fifty
or put on that iHeart radio appand check us out after each and every

(27:47):
Clippers game and call in some more. Joe, all right, I'll I
will. Thanks Thanks for making mefeel good, Joel, this Clipper's team
making everybody feel good. Thank youfor the phone call. We'll not the
suns. Uh, let's go towe have it, oh, CJ and
Alhambra. As the apology to orcontinues, CJ, how are you hey,

(28:08):
Adam? Congratulations, brother, congratulation. No no, no, it
ain't no congratulation. I hear yourmoonlighting now as a host for a call
in talk show radio for apologies anduh so, you know what, congratulations
to that. Look Rondo played abig game and and and are my fears

(28:33):
completely alleviated? No, because Iknow that he's had a history of not
being completely engaged, but you knowwhat, it looks like he is.
So you know what, big upsto you, Adam. It was a
solid win. He came in andreally led the bench and made some smart

(28:53):
moves. I was a little kindof curious why DeMarcus, who who I
think I know we're going to signbeyond the ten day, just didn't make
a presence tonight. I think itcould have helped. It really could have
helped. And you know, Ijust want to ask you this question now.
Now, with all these reports ofKauai kind of being obligated to coming

(29:18):
back to the Clippers, not obligated, I wouldn't characterize it that I would
okay, okay, wrong choice ofwords, but but that that his interests
are in returning to the Clippers.I think I think that that third quarter
really just showcased both him and PGjust realizing that they are the duo that

(29:40):
are going to work this out together, and everybody's play, yes, including
Rondo's Adam, including Rondos. Ithink this really kind of fortifies the vision
that both the front office and andthe coaching staff had with with everybody just

(30:00):
participating at strong levels. And I'lltell you this win probably one of our
biggest without a doubt. CJ,thank you for the phone call. Kawai
and PG in this game combined toshoot fifty six percent from the field.
They also went ten of sixteen fromthree And this is what I mean when

(30:27):
you're talking about this team getting tothat next level and there's still layers to
go because they're so talented, they'reso versatile. They're just bringing in some
new guys. No Dicas playing inthis game, but Avita Zubots only played
twenty four minutes, and Patrick Pattersonplayed so well. I thought he was
great and had that Kentucky connection withJen Rondo. So when you're talking about

(30:48):
En Rondo also and that concern overwhether or not he's engaged, well,
look at a game like this,Look at the team he's on. Look
at some of the players who areon this team. DeMarcus Cousins, I
think Ronda was in his wedding. These guys are tight. This was the
perfect situation. I thought it wasgonna happen this last offseason during the summer,

(31:10):
well during during the seventy days ofhaving an off season. I guess
during the winter of the fall.It didn't. They made it happen,
and it looks like another perfect moveby this Clippers front office. Jeff and
Tarzana, what's up here on Clippersstop without a Muslin? Yeah, I
really liked the way Tyrone Tyrone lukind of coaches this team, but I

(31:37):
don't understand his substitute package tonight. Why Terrence Mann didn't play, Why Kenyr
didn't play, And obviously, likethe gentleman said, why DeMarcus Cousins didn't
play. You know, the Clipperswere shorthanded anyways, so I would have
thought that he would use this wholebench. But the fact of the matter

(31:59):
is that I don't think it wasdisloyal for the Clippers to trade for Rondol.
They wanted to improve the team andthe only trading block was lou Williams.
Am I correct, well, thatwas the logical piece to be moved,
and to be moved to Atlanta toact like they didn't do him a

(32:22):
solid on the way out by makingsure he went home back to Atlanta where
he's playing well so far. Youknow, it was a tough decision.
They've had to make tough decisions, but that's what it's going to take to
eventually win a championship. People,I remember the calls coming in about Blake
Griffin. Where are they at ifthey don't make that move six months after

(32:45):
signing Blake Griffin? Right now,I seriously doubt they're a contender. That
was the first Domino or you couldeven go back to CP three since they
were playing the Phoenix Suns tonight. Now, he wanted to be traded,
but look at the pieces they gotfor him and how that was able to
work out and they started to builda culture there and sweet Loew Williams he
was a part of that. He'salways going to be a Clippers legend,

(33:06):
Jeff, just like you're a legendaryClippers fan caller here on Clippers Talk.
Is Lou Williams a free agent afterthis year? Yes? I believe he
is. He can always come backto the Clippers. There is that.
We'll see what happens, Jeff,So that way you have your cake and
needed too. Yeah, and ifthe Clippers go on to win a championship

(33:28):
this season, and Paul George talkedabout this the first game after Sweetlee Williams
was officially traded, it's almost extramotivation to win because he would still get
a rank for being on this teamthe first half of the season. And
guys obviously love him. Patrick Beverley, they're extremely close. If you listen

(33:49):
pre game. We played audio fromPat Beverley post game after he returned Tuesday
night for the first time and Ithink twelve games, but he was finally
asked about not playing next to sweetLou Williams and just what he's meant to
him, not just on the court, but off the court. Those guys
are brothers. Uh, Mitch inNew Jersey, Mitch Yaron Clippers stop with

(34:09):
that? Am awesome? Thanks? How are you doing it such a deep
I'm stretch. I hope this placebe swan always news. Mitch. I
love you. I can't tell ifyour accent is getting thicker, your phone's

(34:29):
getting worse. It's one, itwas one or the other. I'm sorry,
Mitch. I just could not makeout what you're saying. There outside
of it's such a deep team.And that's a great point. And they
are. We talked about this abouta month and a half ago. They
had that stretch where they were averagingfifty three points a game or something like

(34:51):
that off the bench, which iswhat they've done in past seasons. But
with all the injuries going on rightnow, the depth in the backcourt is
ridiculous. And now having DeMarcus Cousinsgranted on a ten day contract, we'll
see if he stays past that, that bolsters their front court at least in
the short term. We'll take aquick break here, we'll come back.
Nick Hamilton will be here. Oneof my favorites NBA analysts. Clippers win

(35:16):
one thirteen to one h three overthe Phoenix Suns from Staples Center. They
take on the Houston Rockets tomorrow atStaples Center. This is Clipper Stock.
I'm ATAM Moslin and you're listening toAM five to seventy L a sports stagger

(35:36):
from Paul George. This is theofficial home of your LA Clippers. Don't
miss a moment of Clippers basketball allseason long. Fret, you should have
a healthy favor requsts. Too muchof us is danger arrest, So danger
arrest is so dangers mos is dangerrest? Sorry, I was Clippers win

(35:59):
one thirteen to one oh three lookedextremely dangerous against the Phoenix Suns, especially
down the stretch. Welcome back intoClippers Stock. I'm Atam Mosland at eight
six six ninety eight seven two fiveseventy. Coming up before we leave you,
we do have postgame audio from PaulGeorge speaking with Is it the mush?
Is that what you call guy who'swho's always wrong when he gambles something

(36:23):
like that? I think I sawthat in a Bronx tale. You are
listening to Clippers Stock. I'm AtamMoslin. Get to me at follow Adam
A. But let's get to NickHamilton, my friend. He is the
founder at night Cast Media. Youhear him on Sirius XM. You hear
him on AM five seventy LA Sports, see him on Going Rogan with our

(36:44):
friend Fred, who I hope stayedup late enough tonight to see this Clippers
victory. He's at Nick Hamilton twoone three. That was an old joke.
Nick, Thanks for doing this. What did you like most about the
Clippers tonight? But more specifically, how Rondo was fitting in, specially in
the second half. But this isjust his third game and he looked to
cure what has ailed them at timesthis season with the lack of ball movement

(37:07):
late. He was great. Hey, Anamal, thanks for having me on
man. First of all, propsto you for playing the classic Busta Rhimes
record number one. But when youlook at this Clippers team, I mean,
this is exactly what the Clippers havebeen eating. Like you said,
Raisan, Ronald came in midway throughthe first quarter. His aggressiveness was pretty
much just a ripple effect throughout theentire team, and his aggressiveness, especially

(37:30):
that second quarter, really set thejust kind of get away from it for
a bid. But they were ableto regroup in the second half, and
Kawaid Lennard was absolutely fantastic in thesecond half that third quarter. That dunk
that is a top ten highlight.I think that was one of the story
of duh, his phone's getting dunkedon. We're losing, Nick, Nick,

(37:54):
you're still there? Yeah, canyou hear me? I'm sorry,
Yeah, I got you. Thatdunk. That dunk was amazing. Nick
Hamilton is my guest here on ClippersTalk. After they win by ten over
the Phoenix Suns. Am I wrongor complete homer to make the case that

(38:17):
considering the stakes in this game, two of the best teams in the league,
the Clippers, right behind the PhoenixSuns and the standings, and also
just having a rim protector like DeAndreAyton be the guy who got dunked on
that this could be the dunk ofthe year, even when you take into
account with Anthony Edwards. Did isclose? Adam is closed? But a

(38:39):
man still has a dunk in yearas far as I'm start, I mean,
he's nasal soul and did give itback? Goes on some Mortal Kombat
side, Yeah, but whose soulwas it? Who was the player?
No? What, it doesn't matter, And that's exactly where a man did.
So, Yeah, Kawhi is aboutone beat. I would say that.

(39:01):
Okay, that's fair. Let's talkabout Paul George a little bit,
because he also got DeAndre aiden fromthe perimeter with a huge three pointer in
the fourth quarter. Had thirty threepoints, had eighteen in the first half,
had ten in the fourth quarter. But he's been working through that foot
injury. And I know you've beenon a lot of these media calls with

(39:22):
the Clippers pre and post. Didyou hear anything post game from Paul George
or just how do you feel aboutthe way he's played the last two games,
because it seems to be a distinctdifference from what we saw the last
three weeks as he's still been dealingwith this foot injury. Yeah, I
think, you know, I thinkit seems like he's starting to feel his

(39:44):
stride again. It seems like he'sreally finding his rhythm and he's really playing
the way that we saw him playin the first half before he went down
with the initial injuries before the AllStar break. So it's really comforting.
It is really really a great signto get the other guys involved. But
when they when you're watching Paul Georgeand mostly especially you talk about that three
from the corner pocket right in frontof Deandre's DeAndre Ayden's faith, I mean,

(40:07):
that was pretty much that That's stillthe game, right, Kate.
That was the Russell Simmons, thankyou for coming down, God bless him,
good night. That was exactly whatthat three four to represented. And
besides could not recover from that pointon. When you look at Paul Jordan
has been more a lot more aggressivewhen he's played his style of basketball,
and that's will be accustomer to singingin Paul George. I think, like

(40:27):
I said the last time that wespoke at him, Paul George has a
he's on a mission. He's ona mission to prove his worthiness. He's
on a mission to let people knowthat he is the guy guy or he's
one of the guys that are onthis team that could really elevate this team
and get this team toward championship level. And to me, he's the one.
He's the ceiling racer, he's theX factor. If he plays like

(40:47):
this, the Clippers can beat anyone, even at their best too, because
I think the Clippers still they gota couple of notches to go with this
team, because they're still bringing inbringing in new players and we saw one
of them tonight and Jen Rondo andyou talked about it a little bit,
but the fifteen points, the nineassists, this isn't even playoff Rondo yet.

(41:10):
Nick, this is somebody who canget even better in the playoffs.
But this Clippers team, to me, and I mentioned it earlier, because
of acquisitions like this, because ofKawhi Leonard, looking healthier than he's been
since twenty seventeen, and the ZazaPetulia incident that at their best they might
be able to get to a levelno one else can get too outside of

(41:31):
I don't know the Brooklyn Nets, but we haven't seen them and played together
much so far. So what isyour outlook on this Clippers team? The
rest of the way here. Ilike the way this Clipper's team is assembled.
I liked the way that Tyler wasable to suffer to shuffle this team
because that I agree with you. This team is pretty deep when you look

(41:52):
at the components that go along withit. You see Nick Won, you
know, he's continued to exhale. You see guys and uh you know,
like Paul George Kawhi Leonard and evenyou know Rayjon Rondo, which I said,
you know, we talked about thisbefore too. This is this is
a team that has been missing thefloor general in ray Gen Rondo, especially

(42:12):
with his defensive you know, sidehis defensive president. This is a team
that really embraced Rayson Rondo, neededRayjon Rondo, and we're seeing why and
so too. Rajon rondold not justa floor general and a point guard for
raygan Rondo is the coach on thefloor as well, so that also helps
to keep guys discipline, to keepguys in rhythm and focus on what's going

(42:35):
on. And I'm looking forward toseeing what DeMarcus Doesnis can grace to the
table, what searge Vaka gets backhealthy. That's gonna be something that the
Clippers can definitely, uh, youknow, utilize, be able to strategize
even more with as far as beingable to space this team out Terrence Mann,
Luke Kennard. So this team reallyhas many levels to it that they
can really excel, and especially inthe Western Conference when you have teams like

(42:59):
Can and for Nuggets, who areyou know, a serious the breaks off
the Portland round places his last lastgame, but in the playoff situation,
you know Poortland is it still atough, you know, formidable team.
So you're gonna have to have guysavailable, healthy and ready to come to
compete at a high level. Andso that the Pipers are definitely on their

(43:22):
way. They can continue this street, they can stay healthy and get guys
back healthy, they're going to bea very very dangerous team in the Western
confect especially, it gives that teamacross the hall. They are building Clipper
Nation. Enjoyed the journey, enjoyedthe process. I've enjoyed listening to Nick
Hamilton. He's at Nick Hamilton's twoone three on Twitter again. You hear

(43:43):
him on Serious XM. You hearhim on the M five seventy l A
Sports. He's the founder of NightcastMedia. Nick, speaking of night thanks
for staying up late with me tonightafter this victory and coming on clipperstock.
Hey, thanks for having me,Adam. I appreciated manning and continue success
to you as well. Coming upright now before we get out of here,
I want you to hear from PGthirteen Paul George post game. This

(44:07):
was on with Chuck and I don'tknow who was hosting tonight, but I
did see Shack in there. Idid see Kenny Smith. So here was
PG thirteen after he had thirty threepoints led the Clippers once again at thirty
nine, the first time against thePhoenix Suns. Here he was post game
on the NBA and TNT. Goodthing to you guys. You guys got

(44:28):
to go deep in the playoff ofthe season's not gonna be successful. So
what's your number one goal for theregular season. I think for us,
get healthy that's first and four most, and stay healthy. You know,
we've been battling a lot guys inand out. For us, it's just
staying healthy. But we got adeep roster. Adding Rondo helped us.
Add and Couz late in our pushhelped us. You know, I think,

(44:51):
you know, we're starting to buildour identity. When we get on
this floor, we know who weare. You know, Paul, you
talk about added Rondo, you talkabout Patricks, Beverly, you talk about
all the point our play. Youknow, shot, I thought I had
a good point and he tell meif it makes sense. Early in halftime,
he said, playing with so manyguards that at that level, then
it allows you to not always haveto handle the basketball and then become more

(45:14):
of a score. Yeah, Iwas getting in trouble. I mean I
had fun early on uh t Louwas allowing me to playmate and kind of
play the point a bit, butit was taking a lot of energy,
you know, having to guard, come back down, running pick and roll
constantly. It was taking a lotout of me. Whereas now I could
just look to be aggressive offensively toscore. You know, I got Rondo

(45:34):
to make plays, Pat Reggie.I got guards that can make plays,
that can handle the ball, bringthe ball up for me, tlu.
Just putting me in, you know, areas putting me in spots rock and
score, and you know I gotenergy to score. So it helped big
time having having our guard play anduh, you know again having Rondo Reggie,
Pat, It helped me out alot. Paul, No, there

(45:58):
was Pg thirteen Gay on TNT.I think Kevin Frasier was in there for
Ernie Johnson. Tonight Clippers win byten and what an important point there at
the end, just having more energyto score do what he does best in
PG thirteen playing like the six nineSteph Curry going seven of nine from three.
Clippers win by ten over the PhoenixSuns and they get right back after
