He makes everything happen. Adam Mosley, come on man and went the local

(00:25):
DBC news and coo Jay with thetrain come back, but tonight, don't
call it a comeback. I've beenhere for Dan. I'm backing my Pan
making the team damn like an Howabout some March madness NBA addition, courtesy
at your Los Angeles Clippers. Theycome back down twenty two with four minutes

(00:49):
left in the third quarter and theytake down the hottest team in the league
in the Atlanta Hawks. Clippers winone nineteen to one ten over Trey Young
and the Hawks. Welcome into ClippersTalk. I'm at a Moslin eight seven
seven five two zero eleven fifty eightseven seven five two zero eleven fifty is
the phone number or get to meat follow Adam May on Twitter. Coming

(01:12):
up on the show, we'll havepostgame audio from the head coach Sharn Lou.
You'll hear from the players, includingLuke Kennard and Joey Lynn, Clippers
super fan, the voice of theEagles at Biola University where I attended Bible
Institute of Los Angeles. That's whatthey say, this was the biggest win
of the season, because I'm notsaying it cures everything that has ailed them,

(01:37):
because that will see as we movealong here, if this was the
cure all for the Clippers, becausea lot of those flaws that they've had
this year had showed up, andplayers who hadn't even played much, like
Luke Kenard, stepped up. LukeKennard comes in with the second line shift

(02:00):
in a brilliant move by the headcoach Hron Lou as he wasn't getting what
he wanted from the starters. Earlyin the third quarter, he called a
time out within I think thirty secondsafter the Atlanta Hawks went up by eighteen.
Again, after PG thirteen missing openthree, Atlanta hit one, he

(02:22):
called a time out. I don'tknow what he told them then, but
apparently they weren't listening, because bythe midway point of the third quarter the
Clippers were down by twenty one.He called another time out at the six
and a half minute mark and didit. A complete line shift. In
came Luke Kennard. In, camea mere coffee, in came Terrence Man,

(02:49):
In, came Patrick Patterson, andthese guys got it done. The
energy, the effort on defense returnedbecause it simply the Clippers starters. They
didn't look locked in, they didn'tlook focused. It has been a problem
all season long, the inconsistency onthe defensive end, not just from game

(03:12):
to game, from quarter to quarter. They're in the middle of the pack
defensive team right now. They havetoo much talent to be that far down.
They should be a top five defensiveteam. Now. I understand there's
no Pat Bev right now, there'sno Surgeonbaca, but there's really also no
excuse for some of the defense theyplayed in this game, and the miscommunication

(03:35):
that was happening over and over again, and just wide open shots being taken
by Tony Snell and wide open dunksby John Collins and TLU had seen enough.
There's a certain movie called Snakes ona Plane, and Samuel L.
Jackson gets up it says, enoughof these bleep in snakes on this mother

(03:57):
bleep in plane. You gotta makea stand at some point. And t
Lewis said before in the past coupleof weeks as the defense has been up
and down, even though they werereally good the last three games, and
they were really good down the stretch, and this one more on that.
But he has alluded to this inpress conferences saying if guys aren't gonna play

(04:17):
hard, then I'm gonna find guyson the bench who do. And he
did that tonight. He made thismove. It was strong, it was
powerful. It was a message messagereceived because when Kawhi and PG came back
into the game with Terrence Mann andLuke Kennard and Marcus Morris was with him
too, had a really good game. They flipped things around. They only

(04:41):
gave up five points in the lastthree minutes to Atlanta. Hot Atlanta the
hottest team in the NBA. Theyhad won eighth straight, they had just
beaten the Lakers, and they wereup by twenty two with four minutes left
in the third quarter, and theClippers flipped the script on him, and
Terrence Man and Luke Kennard were unbelievable. Luke Kennard especially because this stat line,

(05:06):
I don't know how often you're gonnasee this or see a player get
this hot. When we joked aboutit, popst game the Nard Dog,
as Noah Eagle calls him, hewas in the dog house. He wasn't
getting a run. He hadn't playedconsistent enough himself so far this season and
it just hadn't been aggressive enough.Well, this could change that. This

(05:29):
could get him back into the rotationreal quick, because he really saved them
in this game. He and TerrenceMan but Luke Kennard had thirteen points during
a six minute stretch in the thirdquarter. He had seven more points on
the fourth quarter. He finished eightof eight from the field. He went
four or four from distance, hadtwenty points in eighteen minutes. Was a

(05:53):
plus thirty out there. Turned thegame on its head. Hit a half
court shot at the end to thethird was otherworldly, incendiary, scorching hot,
hotter than Rihanna in Alsana. LukeKennard needed a breakout game, and
it happened at a time when theClippers needed it as a team. Hopefully

(06:17):
this means he's turned the corner. This is something to build off of.
He's looked confident the last few timeshe's been out there. The problem was
it wasn't during meaningful minutes. Butthey needed somebody, anybody to play with,
some passion and some energy out there, because the starters looked flat coming

(06:38):
out of the half. They lookedflat from the first quarter on, really
the second half of the first quarteron. They were up by ten early,
they looked locked in on both ends, and then things went awry and
they were only up by one goinginto the second and they were down by
as many as eighteen in the firsthalf. They got outscored thirty four to

(06:59):
eighteen. In that second quarter. They couldn't find any offense. Paul George
still was just three of twelve, did have seven assists, though some big
ones late, some nice ball movement. When he came back in the game,
Kawhi Leonard, he took him home. He wasn't having a good night.
But then when Luke Kannard and TerrenceMan gave him that boost and gave

(07:24):
them hope and gave them life,Kawhi Leonard was able to close things out
as superstars do. He had elevenof his twenty five points in that fourth
quarter, hit two clutch three pointers, had a reverse and one and just
look confident and said, you know, thanks for getting us back in it.

(07:47):
I'll take it from here, guys. But it's not like Terrence Man
or Luke Kennard stopped Terrence Man outeleven points in the fourth quarter alone.
He was fantastic. Energy has beeninfectious. It permeates throughout the team.
When he's getting run, he's running, he's playing downhill. It's been a

(08:09):
void on this Clippers team all seasonlong, one of three areas of concern.
But in that third quarter, heand Luke Kennard worked well together.
Luke had a nice assisted Terrence foran easy layup, and Terrence Man had
twenty one points on eight to fourteenshooting, plus ten rebounds. He led

(08:31):
them in rebounding. We've joked abouthim doing his best Patrick Beverly like impression
all year, but I don't knowif anyone could have expected him to grow
this much, this fast with hisplay on the court. The last month,
we talked about Nicholas Batun being thatrevelation to start the season, exceeding

(08:52):
all expectations. Well, now TerrenceMan has given them a boost, a
lift, is filling in some ofthe gaps, some of the holes on
this team. By playing with thatspirit and getting in transition and going downhill
and being relentless with attacking the basketeven and Noah Eagle took note of this
your voice of the Clippers during thethird quarter. I believe it was when

(09:16):
they were starting to make their run, even when Atlanta made a play on
them hit a three pointer. TreyYoung was five of eleven from distance.
I don't know if he hit athree pointer that was within twenty five ft
of the hoop. It felt likeeverything was a thirty footer had twenty eight
points. Clippers still survived that. But even when they fought back, even

(09:37):
when they caught that counter punch fromAtlanta. During those runs by the Clippers,
the bench well was cheering on thebench at that point, the starters
who were on the bench, theywere cheering on their guys, and the
coaching staff was encouraging them because theywere playing with the right spirit. Sometimes
you can have a lot of effortand not have the execut but that usually

(10:01):
comes when both converge. You're ingood shape. And the Clippers also turned
things around at the three point line. They were five of fifteen in the
first half from three. They gotwelve of twenty three in the second half,
Clippers come back down twenty two, their biggest comeback of the season.

(10:22):
I'll try to find some more newsand notes and stats and facts and trivia
on just where you put this gamehistorically, because they made that comeback in
the last sixteen minutes. They weredown twenty two with four minutes left in
the third quarter. This was special. This was a flashback to twenty eighteen,

(10:43):
twenty nineteen Clippers. When that secondunit came in, I thought I
saw like Juan Evans out there, well, one of those guys. They
just embodied that spirit of never giveup, never give in, never say
die mentality. Yes, they're allcliches, sports cliches, as Ben Maller

(11:03):
would say, but they happen, and momentum is a funny thing. And
when this game flipped around, I'msure the Atlanta Hawks felt it because the
Clippers outscored them in that second half, where the Clippers put up thirty four
in the third quarter, thirty sevenin that fourth quarter, a seventy one

(11:26):
spot to Atlanta just having forty sevenpoints in the second half when they had
sixty six in the first half.Clippers outscored them by twenty four points.
They come back down twenty two, they win one nineteen to one, ten
over the hottest team in the league. Coming back. We'll get to your

(11:46):
phone calls. I gotta screen them. Eight seven seven five two zero eleven
fifty eight seven seven five two zeroeleven fifty is the phone number. Clippers
with one of the most improbable winsyou'll see in the NBA this season.
This wasn't coming back down twenty twoin the first half. That stuff's a
little more common. This was withsixteen minutes left. Insanity pedlam. Staples

(12:11):
Center would have been rocking with fansthere. Hopefully we get that soon enough,
but I know you guys enjoyed thisone. We'll get to your phone
calls. I'm continuing with the LLLas the Clippers handed the Atlanta Hawks their
first LA nine games. More Clipperssaw coming up next right here on the

(12:35):
Patriot Am eleven fifty price is everymoment all season long on their officials,

(12:56):
Why letters sends it back home? But the Clippers still come in here,
come on man, and went thevocal. DBC news ed coo ja the
twent come back. But tonight, don't call it a come back. Clippers
been here for years, all right, I'm Ali. Clippers win one,

(13:16):
nineteen to one ten. They comeback down twenty two with four minutes left
in the third quarter. They defeatthe Atlanta Hawks. Clippers went two in
a row for the first time inover a month. It was also the
first time in over a month they'vehad back to back games at Staples Center.
Maybe there's something to that correlation there. Eight seven seven five two zero

(13:39):
eleven, fifty eight seven seven fivetwo zero eleven, and fifty is the
phone number still to come this verysegment, we'll have postgame audio from the
head coach, Coach Lou after thisridiculous, ridiculously unexpected in some ways because
of how they came back. Itwas the bench. It was Luke Kennard

(14:01):
out of nowhere, going Luke's Skywalkerand Mando season two at the at all
you see is that green lightsaber andyou know it's over. Joey Lynn is
gonna join me here in a littlebit too. Let's go to Sean in
Englewood. Sean, what's up hereon Clipper stop without a Moslin? Hey,

(14:22):
what's up? Double a number thovefor you? How you doing?
What's up there, Sean. Okay, best announcer in the world. Hey,
Noah Eagle was on earlier. No, I'm talking much to you,
know that? Okay? So Isent you two emails previously, one about
Terrence Mann and one about Luke Kennard. And ironically he's playing against Bosanovich,

(14:48):
whoever his name is, and Isaid that he would be a better deal
than than bog Bovanovitch and so farit hasn't happened until tonight. Hopefully this
is going to be the catalyst forgood consistent performers, not only from him,
but the rest of the con Clippersthat they dig in and play like

(15:11):
is not going to be easy fromthe beginning and work hard. And who
knows, maybe it's these new ConfederateArmy uniforms that they weren't but whatever,
Oh whoa, whoa, that ain'tit? Shan, Come on now,
all right, you know what.I'm from Englewood. I'm not about the
Confederate Army. But anyway, I'mjust saying, whatever it is, I

(15:31):
just hope they keep it up andstay more. Focus is the focus is
the main thing, and that's allI gotta say. I'm with you,
Sean. Thank you for the phonecall. Look, there was a point
in this game where I was thinkingthey're taking another step backwards because they haven't
turned that corner. We haven't foundthat catalyst win yet that has got them

(15:56):
and kept them pointed in the rightdirection. We thought they responded against the
Golden State Warriors, that would beit. For consistency on the defensive end,
for having that defensive mindset for fortyeight minutes didn't happen. We saw
what happened with the New Orleans Pelicansrecently in that game where TLU was not

(16:18):
happy afterwards, and then they playedthree really good games defensively, they lost
one of them. You can livewith that. They just couldn't get shots
to fall in that second game againstDallas, and then I thought they were
taking one more step back tonight. But with the way that they were able
to come back, I'm wondering, does this have legs? Can this carry

(16:45):
over? Can they consistently lock innow for forty eight minutes? There have
been signs of that here and there. But if they're gonna be a championship
ball club, you have to bebecause especially in this league right now,
we're the worst team in the league. Is averaging one hundred and three points
per game. You don't lock infor five minutes, you can get down

(17:07):
fifteen in a hurry, especially comeplayoff time with the level of competition they're
gonna see. Here was coach Loupost game after the Clippers complete the twenty
two point comeback at Staples Center overthe Hawks. Here was coach Ron Lou
speaking with the media, kind ofwalk us through the six minutes left in

(17:29):
that third quarter, You're senior teamdown twenty one, just the decision making
to pull the five starters and insertthat bench unit. I don't really have
a lot of answers for you guys, and I just frustrating, you know,
just frustrated early on. But I'mjust by the way we were playing.
You know, like I said, these guys have been working on every

(17:52):
single day. They've been you know, competing in practice, they've been playing
five five afterwards. You know,I just wanted to put a group in
and try to change it up,play hard and compete. And those guys
did the hell of a job,you know. Terence Man, Luke Kanard,
Pat Pat, you know, Nico. They all came in a mirror,
they all came in and got usback in the game, and that's

(18:12):
what we're looking for. And Iguess around a seven minute mark, eight
minute mark, we got Kawai andPG back in and they was able to
bring us home. Thanks. We'llgo next to Justin Rousseau, Hey coach.
On a night like tonight, whenthat lineup brings the team back from

(18:33):
down twenty one with four minutes togo on the third, is that's the
kind of thing that could earn guysmore minutes going forward into the rotation.
Yes, sir, I mean, you know, the rotations are being kind
of crazy this year because the guysare dead in and out. But I'm
just so happy for Luke Konard, you know, just staying ready the ways
before in the last four games he'splayed, he's definitely earned you know,

(18:55):
he's earned something and just seeing theway he played and when he came in
the locker room on the guys werewater all over and jumped up and down
for him. So you know, everyone loves Luke and we just we's just
glad that he's playing well right nowand just happy for it for him from
the night light tonight. Thank you. We'll go next to Till Mare obviously

(19:15):
you're frustrated, you know, withthat first unit to start the third quarter,
didn't didn't get it done. Butwhen you insert the second unit like
that, like what are you expecting? He's obviously the energy and stuff,
but like what are you expecting outof them? Are you just looking for
life or what are you looking for? Are you looking for energy? Looking
for life? You know, wehave you know, slow start and you

(19:36):
know, guys just didn't happen tonightwhatever for some reason. But just like
we were moving too slow defensively,we're working good, very very good,
and so I just wanted to youknow, he start some guys with some
life from young guys with with withsome fresh legs and shop making competing,
and those guys came in and giveus a great live and then like I
said, our guys came back inat the end of the fourth quarter and
brought us back and brought us home. So I'm he was a total team

(20:00):
toub of team win. Like Isaid, I just thought, our business
guys, you know, with LukeKnar and Terrence Man leading the charge,
we're really good for it tonight. We'll go next to oh Ty, what
was the message to your guys athalftime and even in that first time out
that you took it the early inthe third quarter. I'd rather not say,

(20:21):
oh, I'm sorry, that's allright. Uh. And what did
you see tonight in Terrence? Imean you've seen him progressive over time,
but tonight, I mean there weretimes when he literally was the offense.
He took over the game. It'shis energy and effort. You know.
I think when he rebounds in basketball, he can attack, He can attack
and transition, especially when teams arefanning out, you know, without three

(20:41):
points shooting, you know, justand then today, like I said,
him put him in a small, small pick and roll. But yourere young.
I mean we executed to perfection, you know down the stretch. You
know, I think I might havegenerated you know, eighteen to twenty points
just on a small, small pickand roll the last eight minutes of the
game. So that was a goodto see. Some of we've been we've
been working on for three months andwe've been getting better at it. So

(21:03):
something we want to just continue tokeep doing. But I thought, you
know, Chance was fantastic tonight. Thanks that. Thanks. Next we'll go
to Miriam. You're tired after PGand Kawai came back in and you know,
eventually it kind of got everybody going. Kawai was playing with so much

(21:23):
juice and kind of hooting and holleringout there. What'd you make of that?
Can he carry that over? Like? Is that just a special moment
or what'd you think of that? No? I just think you know,
the guys seeing how we gotta play, you know, how we gotta attack
and approach every single game, youknow, no matter who it is we're
playing, and we can't let missshots determine how we're gonna play on a
night to nine basis. And so, you know, I think Kaua I

(21:45):
saw, you know, what theywhat those young guys did and what they
was able to do, and that'sshort stretch and him and PG came in,
you know, with a lot oflife, a lot of a lot
of pop, and they attacked andmade the plays, and like I said,
it was just something that I thinkKawai and Peg thought to themself they
didn't want to let the young guysdown. After having the performers like that,

(22:07):
thank you, We'll go next tolaw he when when it when it
comes to the defense to shift whatexactly went into just defending stray young like
further and trapping them out. Like, how how do you feel about that
unit executing that in a second half? Feel good? Someone's been working on

(22:30):
for a while now, something thatwe've been you know, having in our
back pocket for you know, gettingready for the playoffs and stuff like that.
But I thought our guys executed itperfectly. I thought our young guys
really did it. Set the toneup doing it, and then when all
other guys came back in, wewere able to execute, like I said,
getting the ball out of tray hishands and denying the ball back and
making someone else make a play ofmaking them beat us. And you know,

(22:52):
we did a good job with thedefensive with there was Coach Low post
game. While we have a moment, let's pause ten seconds for station.
Identify here on the Patriot AM elevenfifty in the Clippers radio network. This
is La Clippers Basketball AM eleven fiftyKiB Los Angeles, an iHeart radio station.

(23:14):
Clippers come back down twenty two inthis one. They end up winning
by nine over the hottest team inthe league in the Atlanta Hawks. Luke
Kennard is the first player in franchisehistory to have at least twenty points,
seven rebounds, and four assists inunder twenty minutes of play. Last player

(23:37):
in the NBA to achieve that featwas Jannis Dena Coupo two years ago in
twenty nineteen. Canard is also justthe second player in the shot clock era
to have at least twenty points, seven boards, four assists while shooting one
hundred percent eight for eight from thefield and under twenty minutes of play.
He joins Jerry Lucas, who didit back in seventy one versus the Blazers.

(24:00):
I think he was on the Warriorsat that time. Only two players
to do that. You wanna talkabout jolt and jump starting the offense?
Luke Knar Luke twenty points in eighteenminutes. Coming up next here on Clippers
Talk, my friend Joey Lynn, voice of the Biola Eagles, will be

(24:21):
here. We'll take more of yourphone calls. Eight seven seven five two
zero eleven fifty eight seven seven fivetwo zero eleven fifty Clippers come back down
twenty two, was sixteen minutes leftto defeat the Atlanta Hawks. This is
Clippers Talk. You're on the PatriotAM eleven fifty stagger from Paul George.

(24:52):
This is the official home of yourLA Clippers. Don't miss a moment of
Clippers basketball. I'll see said log. Clippers come back down twenty two with
four minutes left in the third quarter. Luke Kennard and Terrence Man take over.

(25:17):
Kawai takes them home. They winone nineteen to one ten over the
Atlanta Hawks at Staples Center. Welcomeback into Clippers Talk. I'm at a
Maslin at eight seven seven five twozero eleven fifties. The phone number eight
seven seven five two zero eleven fiftyor gets me at follow Adam A.
I'm now joined by a special guest. He's at Joey Lynn underscore. He's

(25:41):
the voice of the Eagles for BiolaUniversity, where I went, whether they
want to admit it or not,and this is the Cold War kids,
they also went to biolaw Joey, thanks for coming on Clippers Talk tonight.
What were the range of emotions thatyou went through during a game like this?
Oh, my goodness, Adam,it was night and day where I'm

(26:03):
at right now and where I wasabout midway through the second quarter, because
it was the effort that wasn't thereabout midway through the second quarter. I
heard you talking about it on theshow earlier, but it was just lack
of daisical, There was no energy. And that's when Tyler decided, you
know what, I'm going to pullthe starters and put in the bench.
And whether or not that was gonnago, well, I was happy to

(26:26):
see him do it because it senta message to the team to let them
know that the effort output was justnot enough. And when those guys came
in, team in Luke pat pata mirror and absolutely turned the game around.
Oh my goodness, I was upoff my couch going crazy. What
do you attribute some of the hereand there sleepwalking performances the Clippers go through

(26:48):
at times defensively, at times they'relocked in. They looked like they could
be a top three or the bestdefense in the league when you account for
the guys they have that are sotalented on that end, especially on the
perimeter. What do you put thison where they go through these lulls during
games where they just look lifeless outthere. You know what, Man,
if we knew the answer, Idon't think there'd be a question because it's

(27:11):
just one of those things that makesno sense because, like you mentioned,
we have seen how elite they canbe on that end, and we've also
seen them look like they don't knowwhat they're doing out there on the defensive
end. So I wish I hadan educated and inarticulate answer for you,
but I really don't. It's oneof those things that's just kind of baffling
when you watch it and you see, Okay, this is one of those

(27:33):
games where they're sleepwalking out there. But I think it honestly could be something
that was talked about last season, and it's just this idea that they're gonna
be okay. They have the topend level talent, they have the roster
that they believe is good enough towin it, and it's the mentality that
is completely opposite to what we sawin twenty eighteen nineteen, where they knew

(27:55):
every single day that they showed up. If they didn't give their best,
they were gonna lose. That teamknew that they needed to bring it every
single night. The case for thisClippers team is a little bit different.
So if I had to give ananswer, that's probably what it would be.
Part of it, I think isbecause when Pat Beverly isn't out there.
The complexion, the feeling of thegame is just different, I'm sure

(28:18):
because he turns a scrimmage into aplayoff like atmosphere. It's just the way
he is. But Terrence Man hassome of that. Now, what have
you seen from team Man? Whatdo you expect from him? First of
all coming into this season and howpleasantly surprised have you been with the direction
this play is gone. Well,I'll tell you I'm actually in the process
of making a Terrence Man YouTube breakdownbecause these few games since Pat BEV has

(28:42):
been out, I have noticed thatnot only has his play stepped up,
but that emotional leadership that you mentionedhas also stepped up. And that's equally
as important because abb as great ofa basketball player as he is, and
I could go on about that,it is his energy in his leadership that
he brings to the table that makesthe Clippers such a different team when he's

(29:04):
off the floor. So for teammateto step up in that way, especially
since Pat BEV has been out,as I mean, made me such a
proud fan because I've always seen glimpsesof that in him. I think he's
the type of guy who really feedsoff of energy like that. And here's
the thing, I'm not really surprisedto see what he's been doing, because,
like I said, the flashes ofthat play have been there for a

(29:27):
while, even going back to lastseason a little bit. He has improved
drastically from then intel now, butas I mentioned, I always have seen
that in Team Man, so Iwouldn't even say I'm surprised more so than
I am just proud of him. It's funny because when people ask him postgame,
where do you get this style ofplay? He's like, yeah,
I've always been like this. It'sbeen like this for me, having this

(29:48):
motor, having this infectious energy,It's always been like that. He is
Joey Lynn at Joey Lynn Underscore onTwitter, his YouTube pages, clips,
convos, look for one coming upon Aaron's Man soon. But somebody else
who showed up in a big waywho has disappointed fans I know this season,
But Luke Kennard was somebody everybody elseon Twitter was begging to come into

(30:11):
the game just because he is alethal shooter. I mean, if he
could get hot, who knows whatcould happen. Well, it happened.
Luke Kennard goes eight of eight,he has twenty points in eighteen minutes.
What do you think this does forhim moving forward? Because it looked like
his confidence had been there, hejust hadn't played in big spots the last
few outings for him. But nowto be one of the guys that manufactured

(30:34):
this comeback, this could have legs. This could be something for him moving
forward where he can always look backon this experience. Well, Adam,
you see me on Twitter. Youknow that I have been one of the
most vocal about Luke Kenard and wantingto get him back out there on the
floor. And before I get intoanswering your question, I want to go
back to something that you mentioned beforeI hopped on. You said you were

(30:56):
going to do a little bit ofdigging and try to figure out where this
game out of ranks in history.Right, So I did that, and
before yeah, I wanted to seehow many players in NBA history have scored
twenty points, made four threes, eight shots on one hundred percent shooting in
less than twenty minutes of play.I hear it's just two. I have

(31:18):
just one. I have just LukeKennard when I looked that up, he's
the only one that I found. When you qualified the three point four three
point shots in the eight field goalsone hundred percent shooting in less than twenty
minutes, in less than twenty minutesof play, I think that's the qualifier
that makes him the only one.But even if you remove the qualifications of
the three pointers made and the eightfield goals made, the only players in

(31:42):
NBA history to score twenty points onone hundred percent shooting in less than twenty
minutes of play. It's only beendone twelve times outside of Luke Kenard tonight,
in all the history of the game. So that's just a little bit
of historical context for how fantastic LukeKennard was tonight. But to go back
to your question about what this meansfor him going forward, you know,
man, as much as it meansto him, I think this is even

(32:06):
more important what it means to tyLou and the coaching staff because I think
after this game they are forced toplay him more. And Luke Kennard,
as he mentioned, has had thatconfidence over the past few weeks. When
he's been in the game, He'sbeen absolutely fantastic. He just hasn't gotten
consistent minutes, which was what wasdriving me crazy because I was on Twitter
scene. You know what, rightnow, the Clippers are struggling to make

(32:29):
shots, Louke Williams and Reggie Jacksonare struggling to make shots. Why not
throw Luke Kennard out there, throwhim a bone and say, you know
what, go get it. Andthat's exactly what they did today. And
that's exactly what he did today. So I'm extremely excited for him. Throw
the Nard dog a bone, saysJoey Lynn. Clippers win, they come
back down twenty two. Yeah,I wonder how many of those other performances

(32:49):
that Luke has lumped in with withperformances like this, with a stat line
like this came about during a twentytwo point comeback. That just makes this
so unique. It was necessary andI hope it's a pivotal point of this
season that the Clippers look back on. But coming up is the trade deadline.
Joey, and I'm curious, wherehave you been leaning when it comes
to everyone talking about them needing anotherplaymaker out there? Do you think that's

(33:14):
the direction the Clippers go? Doyou think they stand pat after a performance
like this. Well, I've alwaysbeen in the camp of the Clippers not
needing another playmaker or another point guard, because the main reason why people say
this is because they don't think thatPatrick Beverley can be that guy. If
you want to cite health for thatreason, then I'll listen to the conversation.

(33:36):
But when you watch Pat Bev whenhe's healthy, and you look at
the numbers when he's healthy, there'scertainly nothing there that says he can't be
a point guard of a team thatgoes deep into the playoffs. So as
the roster's constructed fully healthy, Idon't think that a quote unquote playmaking point
guard is what they need. Italked about it in one of my recent

(33:59):
videos. I said, if theywere to make a trade, I think
it would have to be for adefensive minded backup guard, because I think
that's the clippers biggest issue right nowis that when Pat Bev goes to the
bench, or when Pat beb isinjured, their second line of backcourt defense
is pretty poor. So a guylike Wonzo or George Hill would fit that

(34:20):
description. But here's the thing.I don't see it as a fatal flaw
that has to be fixed, especiallyif you see what Luke Kennard did tonight
as a playmaker, because he wasn'tjust making shots, he was finding guys.
He was penetrating, beating his initialman, drawing second defenders, and
slinging passes to wide open shooters bothMarcus Morris Darent's man. He was finding

(34:45):
guys and he looked like a pointguard out there. So because of that,
I would still hold off on sayingthe Clippers need a point guard if
they were to make a deal withthe deadline, I wouldn't anticipate it being
for a defensive minded guard. Yeah, and it feels like everything's a bonus
with this group. The ingredients arethere. We've been waiting for something like
this to happen for Luke Kennard becauseto me, he's a ceiling raiser if

(35:08):
he is a consistent rotation player outthere for him and makes a three point
shooting even better. Even though they'vestruggled in that area except for the second
half tonight where they went twelve ortwenty three lately, but he is someone
who can change the dynamic of thisteam. He is Joey Lynn follow him
on Twitter at Joey l I nn Underscore. Get to his YouTube videos.

(35:30):
They're fantastic. They go deep, they're deep dives, they're in depth
conversations about Clippers. It's at clipsconvos Co Nbos on YouTube. Joey,
I appreciate you man, keep doingyour thing. You are the voice of
the Biola Eagles. Adam as always, it was a pleasure, my man.

(35:51):
Anytime you need a guy, youknow how to find me. Always
a pleasure breaking it down with you. I'm sliding into those dms soon.
It's happening even up next here onClippers Stock. We'll get back to your
phone calls. Eight seven seven fivetwo zero eleven fifty eight seven seven five
two zero eleven fifty is the phonenumber. Clippers come back down twenty two

(36:13):
with four minutes left in the thirdquarter, and they're able to pull off
one of the most improbable upsets orat least comebacks of the season tonight against
a team that was red hot andplaying like it. Mind you, Atlanta
got down early, but then theylook like that Hawks team that all of

(36:35):
a sudden is the top ten defenseand has been the second best offense during
their eight game winning streak, whichwas broken tonight by your Los Angeles Clippers.
They win one nineteen to one ten. More Clippers stock coming up next,
maybe even more cold War kids hereon the Patriot AMLM fifty. Let's
sleep with Stains and the Clippers cooloff Hotlanta. They take down the hottest

(37:09):
team in the NBA, in theAtlanta Hawks, by a final score of
one, nineteen to one ten.Even with Trey Young getting twenty eight and
five three pointers, even with theClippers shooting forty two percent in the first
half and going five of fifteen fromthree, they turn it around days to
guys like Terrence Mann and Luke Kennardjust going in unconscious eight of eight from

(37:35):
the field in eighteen minutes with twentypoints was a plus thirty. We heard
from Joey Lynn earlier as a statline nobody's put up before. And oh
yeah, Terrence Man had seventeen ofhis twenty one points in the second half,
had fourteen of his sixteen points inthe second half last game. This
is beginning to be a trend withhim. And here was team Man post

(38:00):
scheme speaking with the media. IfTerrence, how's it going good? Put
your hand up please. If youhave a question for Terrence, are you
so good man. Thanks. We'llget started with our first question from law

(38:22):
Hey, Terrence tells everything. Man, all right, that that now,
I'm actually pretty energized right now afterI've seen that comeback. You in that
in that lineup that made to comeback like you played a lot of center
like responsibilities, you know, settingscreens, getting the rollmantenching, having to
make decisions to pass in the corneror finish yourself, and then defensively just

(38:46):
running around on the perimeter. We'vetalked a lot about your energy, but
you're finishing has been great in thelast couple of the games. Like how
do you feel having to make decisionsright around the free throw circle? Just
I don't know, just playing mygame, reading what I see. You
know, if the little man comesall the way in, I'm gonna kick

(39:07):
it. If he's playing both,I'm gonna keep it and finished. So
you know, we we work ona lot in practice, we work on
a lot. Get a lot ofreps at it. So that's just really
what it is. Just a lotof reps. Are doing exactly what I
did today, Believe it or not. We get a lot of reps.
Thanks. We'll going next to Miriam, Hey, Chance, it felt like

(39:29):
an emotional win. I wonder ifthis is sort of like a weighty day
for you with Fee getting traded andthen kind of coming in and playing such
a big role and a come backlike this. What's it all feel like?
Trying to stay neutral to it,trying to stay you know, even
killed right in the middle. Don'tget too high, don't get too low,
you know, shout out to feed. He was a great teammate that

(39:50):
I've been in for the past likefive years, So you know, I'm
gonna miss him, and I can'twait to see what he with his future
holes and he's gonna be great,So it's exciting for him. And then,
you know, in terms of youknow, the highs where we're out
there, when we're down twenty,we come back, you know, just
staying in the game, every play, one position at a time, trying
to cut the lead. And that'sreally what I was focused on. I
wasn't really thinking about anything else. Thanks, We'll go next to andrew Paren's

(40:20):
once the kind of the emotion kindof wears off from tonight. How do
you guys keep doing what you guysdid well to fuel this victory? Keep
it going in future games, justyou know, going over the film,
looking at what works for us,what doesn't work. I think we realized
tonight or actually the past few gamesthat you know, energy is one thing
that works for us. You know, when we're out there playing with a

(40:40):
lot of energy and you're playing hard, making hustle plays, rebounding the ball,
you know, showing personality, youknow, things like that I think
helps us. And I think todaywas a good test for us and it
made us you kind of opened upour eyes. Thank you. Next up,
Terence, you literally look like youhad the green light there in the

(41:02):
second half and the fourth quarter. You're just like almost a go to guy.
I'm wondering what did I feel likefor you because you're on the team
with two big stars who who dominatethe ball. And also, what do
you think you showed the coaching stafftonight as far as trying to get an
even bigger role, even though you'vebeen kind of growing already, you know,

(41:22):
in terms of the green light situation, I don't really know. I
was just out there, like Isaid, taking one possession at the time
I saw the lane it was open, I would attack it. If I
saw the ram I would shoot it. You know, I was just out
there trying to bring the team back, trying to bring energy. And yeah,
you know, in terms of whatthe coaches saw, they know,
they know I'm would be aggressive intransition and they know almost drive the ball.
They know I would make the rightplace. So you know that's that,

(41:45):
you know, whatever they want todo with it, that's what they
do. But we're just gonna keepgoing, keep playing as a team and
getting better and trying to build offthis. Thanks, we'll going next to
it far By. It turns.Congrats on the big game. You know,
as the game's progressing, it's becomingmore and more of a reality that

(42:06):
you know, you guys have achance to win, and then you guys
take the lead and at the veryend, you guys win, and we
see all you kind of explode withemotion. We see Steve Ballmer, you
know, hug you as well. What's going through your mind in that moment
when you guys finally pull through andyou were such a big catalyst to it.
This is great effort. You know, I was just proud of everybody's
effort, even when even when thestarters came back in, you know,
they gave so much effort. Youknow, they were out there getting deflections,

(42:28):
rebounding Garden. I mean, kauI got a big time block.
You know, they were out therefacilitating COUI had two big threes to close
it, like that's just what theyare. And they came back in with
effort, and I was just proudof everybody's effort, you know, to
turn the game around. And that'swhile also happy, you know, hugging
everybody time for one more go aheadtill mayor hey to answer congrats on the

(42:50):
wind tide calls at that time outin the third quarter of about four and
a half minutes left, and youknow, the second unit kind of is
where the Hawks started to make theirrun in the first half. What is
that message or maybe not berbatable, what did Ty say to you guys in
that time out to sort of sparkedyou guys, because from that moment on,
it was just you know, allup hill. He just said,
play hard. You know, hewarned us that, like what you said,

(43:12):
it was the second unit that camein and threw that punch in the
first half, and we kind ofhad to go out there and get them
back. And that's what you know, we were focused on just going out
there, playing hard and getting themback for that run that they made in
the first I think we did agreat job of that. What did you
make of Luke's perfect eighth for eightshooting? That was awesome, man,
Luke Luke is a bucket. Hecan get to it and it was great
to see he can score the ball. Thanks Terrence, Thanks Terrence, have

(43:36):
a good night, all right, thank you. There was Terrence Man post
game. He hit the ignition switchalong with Luke Kennard and they took the
Clippers into orbit tonight and then KawhiLeonard would help take them home. Something
else. I saw Luke Kennard mentionedthis on post game, but I saw

(43:59):
it on Twitter. During that runthey made, Nicholas Batoum was out there
and the stats weren't huge. Itmay not show up in the box score,
but he was during that third quarterwith he and tea man and a
mere coffee and Pat Pat with aputback, Pat Pat with the putback slam.

(44:22):
And the Clippers have made it twoin a row for the first time
in over a month. We'll seeif this turns into them turning that corner
with twenty eight games left to wherethey can really build off of this going
into the playoffs. Before we getout of here, I do want to
thank the Clippers organization, Noah Eagle, Brian Seaman, Ralph Lawler, Mike

(44:46):
noo get Well, Big Bro,Jake Warner, thanks to Joey Lynn for
coming on, Thanks to Zach Lcaldyfor helping me out, Thanks to the
board operator. It could have beenbetter. It could have a little tighter
in a few different different areas.I don't want to criticize anyone, but

(45:06):
it was me. Not that bigof a scumbag. Clippers win one nineteen
to one. Ten. They comeback down twenty two against the Atlanta Hawks.
We'll talk to you on Wednesday whenthey take on the Spurs in San
Antonio. Tip time is at fivethirty. Well, have your Clippers pregame
show, Clippers campdown starting at fourthirty. I'm out of Moslin. We'll

(45:30):
talk to you. Then you stillplay them one as say
