Speaker 2 (00:00):
Onward.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Now the Sports Brief, a Hoscar Buzz edition with our
Big Red Insider Sean Callahan Live and Lincoln Rosie.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
All Right, Shano, have you been foiled by the government shutdown?

Speaker 3 (00:12):
Yes, you know, unfortunately we've we've dealt with something. Yesterday
about five o'clock or four thirty, I got a message
from United. Our Lincoln flight, which was through SkyWest carrier,
was canceled. So and then I was heading over to
take my daughter to help coach basketball practice, so I
had to rebook our travel yesterday. But we're we're going

(00:33):
out of Omaha. I know Lincoln has definitely had a
couple sky West cancelations through United, and those are the
smaller regional jets, But we're on the same it's we're
essentially on the same itiner we're on. We're just flying
out of Omaha house. We're at least at this point
lucky that we're But I'll give you the full or

(00:53):
port once I get through the airport.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
You might be hitchhike at home. Okay, let's talk about UCLA. And,
at the risk of sounding like the typical Husker fan
who has no respect for the other team, I watched
their defense against the Utah and I saw what Devin
Dampier did to them dual threat quarterback, and it was
almost like one against ten. He killed him. This is

(01:17):
not a good defensive football team by any measure. Nebraska
should be good.

Speaker 3 (01:22):
Tomorrow, Yeah, he would hope. I mean, especially if they
can utilize the mobility of Latif and put in some
new wrinkles that they haven't shown, because look, last week,
they didn't have time to implement anything special for Tigu Latif.
Now you can, and I'm intrigued because Dana Holgerson and
Glenn Thomas and these guys, will you be able to

(01:43):
do a lot more, hopefully over the course of a
bye week to get him ready for this moment where
last week it happened so suddenly, you know, I think
you're a little limited in what you're going to do
in the communication and just everything that needs to go
on in the flow of a game. So there's a
lot of intrigue I think to see what they can
do with TJ tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
I mean, they're worse in the Big Ten in penalties
and penalty yards per game. They're last in Division One
at rush defense, and the reason they're decent in past
defense is and nobody throws the ball against him. You
don't have to just run the ball. So it seems
to me and I believe this well, and you know
how much I love the Royola family. In fact, I
had a text exchange with Don the other day. I

(02:23):
think Nebraska's offense will be better with TJ. Latif if
he doesn't throw turn it over, because this is a
dual threat quarterback who can hurt you on the edge
and who gives a dimension that Riola did not.

Speaker 3 (02:35):
I don't think you'll see Nebraska take as many sacks either.
That will be the maybe the biggest difference of if
he's able to escape, they're going to get the ball
out of his hands quickly. They're going to keep his
reads simple, as my prediction, and if the reads one
and two maybe aren't there, he's going to take off
and run. So I think hopefully that will eliminate some

(02:55):
of the sacks. I mean, I still that nine sack game.
I've never seen anything like that before. Think back to
what we saw in Minnesota, even a Michigan game.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
I mean those were Michigan State.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
I don't know if we've ever seen games like that.
At Nebraska or Nebraska. But I don't think the tief
is going to you know, be in that position, because
he's going to be able to escape and run a
little bit better than Dylan did.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
Okay, Sean, Uh, I had a vision. Oh, I had
a vision.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
Who was in it? Uh?

Speaker 1 (03:20):
Well, TJ Latif was in it and he was running.
He went he went out with prickly heat and uh
Jalen Grahamstead came in and then he went out with
a broken silanctum. Tell me about Uh, tell me about Marcus.
You're a very disturbed person. Thank you Tell me about
Mark Mark Bielan should have come to that, Sean.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
Yeah, Marcus Marcus is a Purdue transfer out of Texas.
He red shirted at Purdue last year, you know, and
has not really I think, progressed here like we thought.
I mean, he didn't travel the previous two road games
that they played at Minnesota and Maryland. So there, you know,
I wouldn't really count much on him.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
If if we get to him one.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
Quarterback and Marcos Deavilla.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
But it would be Harburg would.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
If if everything went wrong and yeah, you had injuries,
I mean, who knows what what the discussion would turn
to at that point. But yeah, Debila, you can't really
expect a whole lot out of him at this point
because he's not been traveling and he's your three.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
Now now you're you'll have Harburg in the wildcat if
it gets to that stage. So ok, you can still
run that. No, Seriously, I know Dylan Royola is an
NFL caliber thrower and we get that, but I just
really believe this offense will be much more difficult to
defend with t J latif so long as he doesn't

(04:52):
turn it over. And you gotta agree with me.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
I think the mobility and it will help him, and
it will it will change how safeties played Nebraska. If
you watch when Dylan was in the game, they don't
respect the running of Dylan obviously, so safeties play deep
because they do respect his arm and they don't want
you thrown over the top. Well, Nebraska, can you know,
create more in the ground game because of the added

(05:17):
mobility of a quarterback. Hopefully that makes some of the
safeties come down more and that could lead to some
bigger plays as well if they take advantage of that.
So I think there are a lot of things that
they can do with Latif and watching how the safeties.
If you see LA defend Nebraska will be something worth
watching early.

Speaker 1 (05:35):
Indeed, and now the team a charter flight has more flexibility.
They're headed out today. So have you heard anything about
are there any issues with LA? I assume they're flying
into Lax, right.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
Yeah, I was. I thought it was. I don't think
Burbank or I think it's Lak.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
Yesterday was Lax. That that could have changed because of this. Okay,
Well is down to one and a half points. Uh
u c l A favored out there to morro on Nebraska.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
