Speaker 1 (00:00):
On to sports Breath now Huscar Buzz edition with our
Big Red Insider, Sean Callahan Live and Lincoln Rosie.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Well, thanks Sadler Chanow. There's nothing like a after a
win bye week press conference to calm everybody down.

Speaker 3 (00:15):
Yeah, it was uh, you know, Matt rule always does
a Monday press around bye weeks, which is always great
for the media to get you know, get some stuff
for this long week year ahead, but especially after a win,
it's great. I mean, Matt Ruhle was in full pr
mode at the start. Obviously went through and recognized every
sport at the athletic department that's had a great season

(00:35):
thus far, which many are, and then he went you
know into you know, Emma Johnson and went through what
he's done this year and really feels like Emma Johnson
should be considered for the Doak Walker Award and possibly
even talk about the Heisman. So it was an interesting
press conference. But this bye week comes at a great time,
and especially after a win, You've got a lot of

(00:57):
time now to think about these next two weeks.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
How much influence does that kind of electioneering have on
voters or people that pick these award finalists and these
Award winners. If a coach goes off and really starts
to pimp for his guy, how much of an impact
do you think that has in the year twenty twenty five.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
I think it's more just making people aware. I'm not
sure a lot of people realize that Emma Johnson leads
the Big Ten in rushing by a wide number, that
he's the leading power for running back in the country,
and he's second only to a Jacksonville State running back
in the national rushing yards and numbers. So there's just
a lot of numbers that he has, like he leads
the conference by far and runs of ten plus yards.

(01:40):
I mean, there's a lot of metrics that support the
year he's having, and I just think it's important that
you get that out there and make people aware of
what imman has done this year. And I think that's
what Matt Ruhle was doing yesterday.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
And he's doing it not just for Emma Johnson, but
he's doing it for his you know, not individually, but
he's really trying to make people understand how much better
this team is than its record, that they're playing their
best football right now despite the loss to USC Did
you glean that yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
I mean I thought that the game Saturday was a
very complete performance. I mean, they had trouble, obviously with
a mobile quarterback, but I think everybody would have trouble
with Nico. He's a hard guy. If they're going to
run him like that fifteen times and put him at
risk that many times in a game, it's gonna be
hard to defend that, you know. And they had their problems,
but they still scored on their first four possessions of

(02:34):
a low possession football game. That's pretty hard to do
when over three quarters you only get four possessions essentially,
and you score all four of them. So it was
a complete showing by the offense in a lot of ways.
We aren't seeing penalties, we aren't seeing turnovers, a lot
of the beat yourself things that have hurt Nebraska over

(02:55):
the years, they're not even a table topic at this point.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
What about the what is obviously now the elephant in
the room, and that is a quarterback competition. Did he
touch on any of that or was it just a
I love DJ latifde No.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
I mean, they go out of their way to make
sure how supportive Dylan's been and how you know Dylan
is happy for TJ. And but yeah, I mean if
this thing gets a win at Penn State and or
Iowa and or a bowl game all of a sudden, yeah,
I do think that the discussion becomes real, especially if
the offense looks as complete as it has all year,

(03:35):
like we saw Saturday night. Now, you've made reference to
this many times u C LA jim was arguably the worst,
if not the worst defense in the Big Ten. Yeah,
they've got an interim coaching staff, you know, and they're
not really having a good year, and so you can't
put everything in that game. Now, Penn State's got a
really good defense. I mean they've pressured the quarterback over

(03:58):
one hundred and fifty times, so they're going to get
after Latif and and bring some heat. And they've got
a good running game on offense. For they've got two
NFL running backs. So there's a whole different deal now
heading out of state college.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
I think this is the test for TJ. Latiff If
he passes this test, even though they're not having a
great year, they have great players. Uh, this will tell
us all right.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
