Speaker 1 (00:00):
More variety from the two thousands, the nineties, and today
it's Star one on one three, it's Marcus and Corey.
What's up right before six? And it's Friday.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Dude, holler, dude, are you doing Friday? I had the
craziest thing happened yesterday. Maybe it's not the craziest. I
don't want to be dramatic too late. Uh when I
got home, this is going to be a little convoluted.
I have to park my car outside, go inside, and
shut a door to the garage because we leave that
door open to the dogs and go in and out

(00:28):
while we're not home. And so parth car, go inside,
shut the door, blah blah blah, whatever, do my thing,
bring the car in the garage, shut the garage door.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
Whatever.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
It's super windy yesterday. And on our front door, we
have these bells. I once read that to protect your house,
you have bells at the front and bells at the back.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
So I do have the bells, and they're noisy.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
So I always know when Jeff comes home, my husband,
and out of nowhere, I hear the bells, and I'm like,
he didn't tell me he was coming home early, And
so the dogs go running because they do that and
they're barking and then nothing.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
Was it the wind?

Speaker 2 (01:11):
You kind of ruined my story, But I was like,
oh my god, did someone tried to open the front
door because I forgot.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
To lock it? Oh okay, so I forgot to.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
Lock it, and I'm like, oh my god, did someone
tried to get in? And then they heard the dogs
and they were scared off and ran away. And so
I'm like looking at the ring cam and doing a
perimeter check and it was the wind.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
Yeah, But everybody listening was like, Corey, it was the wind.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
But I mean, the wind was crazy.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
But for that split second where I'm home alone and
the Jeff isn't there, I'm like, so I try to
get in.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
Thank God for the docks.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
That's that shows on the ID network messing with you.
You see what happens.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
They're true, it's true. You're not wrong.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
But thank God for the ring cam because I just
went through the history and there was no one there.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
Good, So thank god for the wind.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
Stupid wind.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
I had a great lunch yesterday.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
Where'd you go?

Speaker 1 (02:00):
So it was in the castro at a place called
Wooden Spoon. Oh yeah, right next to Cafe Dunard across
the street from that one medical right there on Market Street.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Would you have?

Speaker 1 (02:12):
I just had avocado toast. It was the conversation that
got made. Okay, you know how we always talk about
spending time with people that fill your cup. Well, I
have a buddy. His name is Bentley, and he's one
of those guys that I met. I was doing a
podcast and he was a guest on my podcast. He
used to run a company called good Eggs, and he recently,

(02:36):
you know, kind of re evaluated what he was doing
with himself and decided he wanted to just move on
and just kind of left and whatever. And when I
when I talked to him on the podcast, I was like,
this is the guy I could hang out with. And
then we were making plans to make plans, and then
the pandemic hit, so we lost touch for literally five years.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
Stupid pandemic.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
Yeah, and I just reached out to him randomly. I
was like, dude, you want to get grabs from lunch?
And it was three hours?

Speaker 3 (03:03):
Three hours? You had so much to do yesterday?

Speaker 1 (03:07):
Well, the thing is, I knew it was gonna be
a good time, so I blocked out four hours. Oh
so you know, that was my thing, and we just
talked about everything and it was so great and and
it was one of the It was weirdly kind of
it was the most emotionally intelligent opening because I was like, dude,
when we met, I just decided I could hang with

(03:29):
this dude. He goes, Dude, I thought the same thing.
And now here we are. So we broke bread and
you know, there were maybe Paloma was involved.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
I was gonna ask about that.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
It was good, good time.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
That's what I thought when I met my friend Kim.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
It's pretty awesome. Anyway. Reminder this weekend, call somebody that
fills your cup and spend some time.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
Don't make people call people.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
We're gonna have more tickets for you this morning for
the Counting Crows at the Greek Theater. They're going on
sale this morning at ten. You're gonna win years at
eight oh five with the trivia game coming up next.
I can't remember what we're talking about. Which one are
we doing? Oh, habits that boomers think are lazy that
millennials do. We're gonna do a gut check here.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
The millennials and the boomers. Man, you might as well just.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
Have that war. We don't typically like to do generational wars,
but I am curious as to what side of the
ball you're on on these things. Okay, stuff like working
from home, taking too many breaks, not working ot are
these lazy or are these smart? We'll get into it
coming up at US six twenty Hang on. More variety
from the two thousands, the nineties, and today. It's Star

(04:37):
one on one three, it's Marcus and Corey. It's Friday morning.
We'll end of the week. We'll check in. This is
a mindfulness expert who shared easy ways to live a
happy life. Little things get ways to stay mindful about
what you're doing in the moment. Number one I don't
do nearly enough. Practice gratitude.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
I think it's really helpful if you write down something
every day that you're happy for or grateful for, you
remember to be grateful.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
I have a friend who does this and says it
changed his life. Literally, at the end of the day,
sits down and writes three things that he's thankful for.
I think that is so healthy. Find joy in the
little things.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
I tell you what, man, My friend Kim and I
had some cheese curds the other day.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
It was just amazing when.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
I cut a fresh lime into a wedge and I
squeeze it on my Friday Paloma. Yeah, the smell of
the citrus takes me to a hammock in Acapulco.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
See, these are important.

Speaker 1 (05:30):
Nurture your positive relationships. What do we always say.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
You want to hang out with somebody who fills your cup.

Speaker 1 (05:35):
With people that fill your cup you can't wait to
hang out again. Not the people that are like a
brain drain, or emotional vampires.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
Or just makes you feel physically just exhausted.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
No, embrace impermanence. I don't know what that means that
things Some things are temporary and you have to be
okay with it.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
Oh, change, like change is inevitable.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
Yes, okay, that's right up there with embrace failure.

Speaker 3 (06:00):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
I think one of the most powerful things I did
as I got older is I realized, like at work,
I know this is hard to believe, but I'm kind
of can be a perfectionist or try to be, and
some I know you do. Don't look at me like that. Sorry.
There are some days when I finally look up and go,
you know what, this is the best I can do.
This is the best I have.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
But if you fail, all I have you learn from
your failures? Sure, and I think that's helpful as well.

Speaker 1 (06:23):
Let go of comparison. Comparing ourselves to others is like
mental and emotional death.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
It took me a.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
Long time to realize that there are different Like when
I was younger, I was always comparing myself to other people,
and it's like we all have different hair types and
skin types, like I don't tan, and growing up in Florida,
I was constantly told by strangers and people, I knew
you need a tan.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
I don't tan.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
I can't sponstaneously combust.

Speaker 3 (06:51):
You see how irish I am?

Speaker 1 (06:52):
Yeah, exactly. Another phrase that I kind of taught myself
when if somebody comes to you and says, oh, well
you know so and so is doing this, I just go, well,
good for that, good for them, and mean it, yeah,
not in a snarky way, goody, good for you man,
that's great, good for you on the come up. Here's
another big one that people forget prioritize self care and
that you know that's physical and mental.

Speaker 3 (07:14):
I mean, it's both so important to you.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
So many people listening right now who put others above
themselves as people pleasers ourselves. We see you.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
Your mindset is so important right now because there's so
much going on in the world that can make you
feel just stressed and overwhelmed. Take that time to take
care of yourselves. And I'm not suggesting, like, don't be
a nurturer to other people. Some of us are built
that way.

Speaker 1 (07:38):
Some of us want to make sure that you're having
a good time, that you are comfortable. Your husband gets
like that. But also the Jeff is good at taking
care of himself too, right, So just don't forget about you.
It's important, all right. Hopefully we were helpful right there.
Hopefully anything else you want to add If you've got
some pro tips, hit us with a talkback on the
iHeartRadio app that little red microphone. If you're streaming Star
one one three right now, a variety from the two thousands,

(08:00):
the nineties, and today Star one on one three, It's
Marcus and Corey, good morning.

Speaker 3 (08:04):
Hello.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
We don't like to do generational wars, but a lot
of things that pop up are millennials versus boomers, gen
X versus gen Z and blah blah blah blah blah.
I did find this one interesting though, Okay, millennial habits
that boomers think are lazy.

Speaker 4 (08:20):
Okay, so depending on what side of the fence you ron,
are the boomers are like our parents. Correct, Millennials are
what late twenties to early forties. Here are some of
the habits that they discuss. Number one on the list
working from home? Now, is that lazy or is that smart?

Speaker 2 (08:35):
It just depends on who the person is. Because when
my husband works from home, he's working. I don't see
him right now. And yes, discipline though another friend of
mine who works from home will work for about twenty
minutes and then go to the garden, right, that would
be me, and then works for twenty minutes and then
takes a nown.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
Yeah, breakfast burrito.

Speaker 2 (08:52):
Yeah, So it all depends on your own discipline.

Speaker 1 (08:55):
I think it's inconvenient to your coworkers. Hear me out
for a second, No, I I think you're missing out.
If I need something, if you work from home, now,
I'm not going to call you because you're not going
to pick up. No. And if I email you, now,
I gotta wait. But if I need an immediate answer
and I text you, now, I gotta wait. If you're
in the office, I could just walk down to wherever

(09:16):
you are and go hey man, blah blah blah blah blah. Yep, yeah, cool, peace,
And what might take an hour took ten seconds exactly.
It's inconvenient to your co workers.

Speaker 2 (09:25):
And I appreciate going to work because when we do
take vacation, I find if it's too long, I start
to become a hermit. The less I go out, the
more I don't want to go out. And that kind
of was a habit that I got into with the pandemic.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
And I understand, like commutes can be brutal. Sure, they
cut down on your productivity. Maybe there's something to be
said for being in the office. And boy do we
sound like boomers right now? I get that, and we
have really cool coworkers and there's camaraderie, there's an energy,
there's a vibe. Okay, I'll move on, Yeah, move on.
Other things that millennial habits the boomers think are lazy,

(09:59):
having side hustle instead of full time jobs. I say,
get in where you fit in. If side hustles is
what you want to do, then cool, you're making it.
If you're making it cool, yeah.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
If it works. If you're an influencer and you're doing well.

Speaker 1 (10:12):
Good for you because you're not taking my tax dollars. Cool.
I don't care taking frequent breaks. This is another thing
that's inconvenient to your coworkers.

Speaker 3 (10:20):
Frequent breaks.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
You know what's funny is like you and I don't
step off the gas until like eleven. There's no really
any breaks in this business. No I tell you for
someone to go. You take too many breaks. I'm like,
what's a break?

Speaker 1 (10:33):
Our whole life is operated in between the songs, and
the songs used to be a lot longer.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
I know, whre's some moody blues nights and white Satin.
That's like a seven and a half minute song.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
That would be a break. I really did. Uh Boomers
think that prioritizing mental health overwork is lazy. I would
disagree with that. I think it's super important. I'm on
board with that one.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
Mental health is very important. But you're in charge of
your own mental health.

Speaker 1 (11:02):
Using technology for convenience what the slippery slope. Basically, what
they're saying is don't rely too much on technology because
you don't think, oh, like AI, like chat GPT, whether
it's AI or Google Maps or whatever else. I would
say it can erode your ability to critically think if
you rely too much on your phone or on chat GPT.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
You know, I have this friend, I love her, and
it's hilarious because she's lived in this city forever, forever,
and she still has to use her GPS to go
to places she's been doing.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
Because you turn off that side of the bridge.

Speaker 3 (11:39):
I do it.

Speaker 5 (11:40):
I'm right there with her. I need my GPS a lot.
When I lived here in the late nineties, we didn't
have GPS. No, you just I got so good at
driving around the city. And now I'm a moron. You know,
I've been here a million years. I still throw the
GPS on.

Speaker 3 (11:56):
My husband's really good at He's like, San Francisco's a grid.
Just learn the grid. I'm like, he's not wrong, he's
not wrong.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
Are you on board with these I'm specifically interested on
your thoughts on working from home? Let us know what
the talkback if you don't mind. If you're streaming Star
one on one three right now and you hit that
little red microphone, you can leave us a message.

Speaker 6 (12:11):
This is what I'm talking about.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
It's what's trending on start one one three.

Speaker 2 (12:16):
What's happening in entertainment news?

Speaker 3 (12:19):
The biggest stories of the.

Speaker 1 (12:20):
Day and everything people are talking about today in the Bay.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
San Francisco's Recreation and Parks Department announced last week that
the two miles stretch of the Great Highway from the
southern tip of the Golden Gate Park to the Zoo
will officially be closed to cars for goods starting today.
The city's going to turn this space into a new
fifty acre park, schedule to open April twelfth. Hasn't been
named yet, but residents are invited to submit their ideas
for potential names by five o'clock Sunday. The new park

(12:46):
will have murals, lounge spaces, elevated seating for ocean views,
a live music space, sculptures, public art installations, a skating space,
outdoor fitness equipment, a nature area for children, bike parking,
so much more.

Speaker 1 (13:01):
I'm torn because that all sounds amazing, but also I
will miss cruising down the Great Highway, yeah, because it
was one of those stretches where ag because I live
on the coast side, it's a quick way to get
home sometimes if traffic in the city is snarled, and
you can set your cruise for like, I don't know,

(13:21):
twenty four miles an hour because all the lights are timed.

Speaker 2 (13:24):
Oh that's nice. Yeah, I do appreciate a good time.
To that being said, I do like a good park,
so yeah. But it's a hot button out there. Residents
are not happy. There's a lawsuit going on. Oh god,
so we'll see what happens.

Speaker 3 (13:38):
Here's some more positive news.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
There's the Doggy Spring Fling Festival for dogs tomorrow from
one to five. Dress your pupp in their groovyous spring
themed outfits and join dog Bar at the Hayes Valley Promenade.
There's gonna be dog vendors, all kinds of fun things,
spring themed photo booths, Eager East. This is my favorite
Easter egg hunt, all pits, okay for the dogs. There's

(14:02):
gonna be spring themed doggy lattey drinks. It's free to attend.
You can RSVP just to kind of give him a
headcount at dog barbay Area dot com.

Speaker 1 (14:11):
I love it.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
And then I picked this story just for your wife.
Back at October Clawson. You know Klassan and mixed pickles
tease just the brine pickle juice instead. If fans showed
enough love, they'd make it happen. Well, just the brine
is now real. Starting today, pickle fans can buy six
packs of the eight ounce bottle of pickle Brine. You
can use it as a tangy cocktail mixer or an

(14:34):
electrolyte boost to get rid of a hangover. Right now,
it's only available in certain cities, but you can go
to their website and it's everywhere.

Speaker 1 (14:42):
My wife and her friends love just pickle juice and
every time they get so excited, get the pickle juice.

Speaker 3 (14:48):
Pickle.

Speaker 1 (14:49):
It's a great everything. Corey just said, we buy local,
So shout out to our guy, Pete's Pickles out of
Pleasant Hill. He's making them like he'll pickle any of
you want and he's great. So he actually also just
started doing just pickled juice. So that's exciting. Yeah, let's see.
So it's National Pie Day today, three one, four, Hey, Hey,

(15:12):
I to go eat pie or not? Also National Potato
Chip Day. Keeping it fluffy, it is furry Fridays. Shout
out to our partners this week. So the shelter that
we are trying to clear out this week is Peninsula
Humane Society in SPCA. That's my home shelter. It's the
one closest to my house.

Speaker 2 (15:32):
There are a pair of bonded six year old short
haired rabbits named Moose and Rhino, and they are so adorable.
You can see them on our star Instagram.

Speaker 1 (15:42):
Yes you can. Are we not going to talk about
the fact For the first time in the history of
free Fridays, there is a pigeon.

Speaker 3 (15:48):
There's a pigeon.

Speaker 1 (15:50):
I didn't even know this was a thing.

Speaker 3 (15:52):
He's wearing an outfit.

Speaker 1 (15:53):
He says he's looking for his forever family. I would
be great for a first time pigeon family.

Speaker 3 (15:58):
He wears his pigeon pan so he doesn't make a
mess around the house. He's thirty.

Speaker 1 (16:04):
There's a kiddie named Freya, and there's a doggy named Margo.
All need adopting right now. Adorable And you know what,
inasmuch as if you're thinking about adopting a pet, it's
a good time because when you help clear out whatever
shelter we're talking about, then they can bring in more
animals that are been displaced by the Southern California fires.
We do not want to forget. Yes, so make sure

(16:26):
you check out all the pictures and all the descriptions
and get some adoption information on the Marcus Acrey Instagram
for free Fridays. Shout out to Uncle Steph Curry, who
made history last night with his four thousandth career three pointer.

Speaker 3 (16:41):
That's amazing.

Speaker 1 (16:42):
Only NBA player in history to do that, which I
think is pretty awesome. Warriors back in action tomorrow night
against the Knicks at Chase Center. Go Dubs. Guess what's
trending every weekday Morning on the fifties. That's a six fifties.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
And connect now with the Marcus and Corey socials and blogs.

Speaker 3 (17:04):
That's at one on one three dot com.

Speaker 1 (17:06):
More variety from the two thousands, the nineties and today
are one on one three Back with second Date update.

Speaker 3 (17:12):
Hey, hey, we love love.

Speaker 2 (17:15):
Maybe you're not necessarily in love right now, but you
went on a first date, you had a great time,
and you want that second date.

Speaker 3 (17:21):
Yep, we try to help you do that.

Speaker 1 (17:23):
How we do it? Talking to Lazette right now, Lazette,
good morning, Good morning. Let's talk about your date this guy, Alex. Right, okay,
how did you guys meet? First of all, and then
let's talk about the first date, and then we're gonna
want to know what has happened since of.

Speaker 7 (17:39):
Course, Yes, okay, so Alex and I met unhinged, and
we were talking for a few weeks, you know, back
and forth and like really lighting a fire and everything
before we even decided to go out and just kind
of making sure the communication was there sure and the connection,
and he was awesome. He picked me up and we

(18:00):
went to dinner and Walnut Creek and then we actually
went back to my house with a bottle of wine.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
Oh goodness, oh wow.

Speaker 7 (18:08):
Yeah, okay for me, but it just was going really well.
So yeah, so we came back to the house. Then
all of a sudden, right after I opened the bottle,
he totally just left.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
He left.

Speaker 3 (18:20):
He didn't say anything, No, he just like left.

Speaker 7 (18:23):
It was bizarre right after I opened the bottle of wine.
So I thought maybe there was something with that, but
he seemed really into it, and we were really into
each other and gol. Anyways, I digress. I'm always like
really busy at work. I get slammed during the day
and I can't really talk much. But getting his messages
throughout the workday is like really welcoming. It's a nice break.
But unfortunately they have disappeared.

Speaker 3 (18:44):
Oh now, yeah, I mean.

Speaker 2 (18:47):
It sounded so promising the fact that he felt comfortable
enough to invite him back to your plan.

Speaker 1 (18:51):
I didn't know it got so scandalous in the creek.
Just kidding. Yeah, okay, well.

Speaker 3 (18:57):
Here's what I'm thinking. Please Alex leaves her plate.

Speaker 1 (19:00):
Uh huh.

Speaker 3 (19:00):
He's not familiar with the neighborhood, right, uh huh.

Speaker 2 (19:03):
So he drives straight into a wormhole and realizes this
space time can be warped.

Speaker 3 (19:08):
He's now in the world West no cell service.

Speaker 1 (19:09):
What in the world?

Speaker 8 (19:11):
I love you?

Speaker 1 (19:13):
Do you mean, like, uh, Westworld?

Speaker 3 (19:16):
It's warped like you went through the worm No happening,
wasn't just move along?

Speaker 7 (19:23):
I love it. I love it. I think it's a
great answer.

Speaker 1 (19:26):
We'll go with that on board.

Speaker 3 (19:29):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (19:30):
Let's call him.

Speaker 7 (19:31):
I'm sorry to cut you off before you call him.
One more thing that I think is kind of important.

Speaker 3 (19:34):
Uh huh.

Speaker 7 (19:35):
We had like this really great time, but we actually
discussed deleting our Hinge accounts because we wanted to see
where things were going.

Speaker 1 (19:41):
Well, what in the world?

Speaker 3 (19:42):
What happens?

Speaker 7 (19:44):
Wormhole?

Speaker 3 (19:46):
Wormhole?

Speaker 1 (19:46):
Okay, you guys, we're gonna call him. Let's regroup, and
then we'll hit him up after this song. All right,
it's a second date update Star one on one three,
a variety from the two thousands, of the nineties and
to day. It's Star one on one three. It's Marcus
Corey doing second Date Update. Let's has been waiting patiently,
no doubt, holding her breath right before we call Alex.
Just see what's going on, because you're not dramatic. I mean,

(20:08):
she got up all the You're to your house with
the bottle of wine and then he just left. This
is so bizarre to me.

Speaker 3 (20:15):
We'll figure it out.

Speaker 1 (20:16):
Is that you ready?

Speaker 7 (20:17):
I'm ready?

Speaker 1 (20:18):
Okay, here we go. Let's call him. I'd love to
get you a second date, but I need answers. Here
we go, Here we go, definitely.

Speaker 3 (20:32):
Hello, Hi, may I speak with Alex? Please? This is
hi Alex. This is Marcus and Corey from Star one
on one three.

Speaker 1 (20:41):
Hey Alex, what's that?

Speaker 2 (20:44):
We are a morning show on a radio station here
in the Bay area, Star one O one three.

Speaker 1 (20:50):
I'm guessing you don't listen?

Speaker 6 (20:52):
Uh No, did I win something or what are you
guys talking about?

Speaker 2 (20:56):
Uh? Well, we were hoping you wouldn't mind talking to
us on the air about a date you went on.

Speaker 1 (21:00):
We're doing something we call second Date Update.

Speaker 8 (21:04):
Is this is this about Lazette by James?

Speaker 1 (21:08):
Oh wow, my goodness.

Speaker 3 (21:09):
Good guess.

Speaker 1 (21:10):
Yes, she floated us your phone number. She would love
to go out again. She thought your first date went awesome,
but then she says you just left. Yeah, like literally
you were in her place and left, So now we're confused.

Speaker 8 (21:27):
Look, I'm super into Loze. She's we had an awesome
spark that night, and right we heard.

Speaker 6 (21:38):
Normally I wouldn't accept an invite into someone's own, but
she invited me into a home on the first date.

Speaker 8 (21:44):
I mean, I just I can't get enough time with her.
This is what happened.

Speaker 6 (21:47):
I went to the bathroom and when I came out,
so that was on the phone, like talking real low
and basically blowing off our night a conversation with someone
like I overheard her saying things like I don't see
it turning into anything and that it's no big deal.
And you know, she really appreciated the check in from

(22:07):
whomever she was talking to, you know, like the phone
call is going to save her from the date or something.

Speaker 1 (22:14):
So I like one of those emergency phone calls that
you pre arranged with your bestie.

Speaker 3 (22:18):
I don't get that though, Why would she invite you over.
If she didn't have a good time.

Speaker 6 (22:22):
I don't get it.

Speaker 8 (22:23):
It was like an awkward feeling, like, what is going
on here? I just didn't feel right.

Speaker 1 (22:29):
Speaking of slightly awkward feelings, So Lazette is actually listening
right now? Yes, no, listen, We're just trying to bring
people together. Yeah, and she really liked you. It sounds
like you really liked her. This feels like a misunderstanding,
so maybe we can clear the air. Was that what

(22:50):
was this phone call about?

Speaker 7 (22:52):
Okay? So I'll like you know that I work a lot.
Workaholic is an understatement, and there was a problem at
work that day with an eloyee that needed answers, and
they needed answers before going to the meeting in the morning.
So I'm sorry it was really bad timing to take
the phone call, but you left so fast. I didn't
even get to tell you what happened.

Speaker 1 (23:12):
That I had nothing to do with him, nothing to do.

Speaker 8 (23:15):
With him, so it was all in my head. Basically,
you heard it.

Speaker 3 (23:22):
Is work related.

Speaker 1 (23:27):
Okay.

Speaker 7 (23:27):
So, and like you said, I really liked him, he
really liked me, so yeah, to communicate better, So what's up?

Speaker 8 (23:35):
I mean, if that's the case, I mean, can we.

Speaker 1 (23:37):
Get a second date?

Speaker 8 (23:39):
Oh yeah, I'm down man, I'm into her. You know,
I feel better?

Speaker 1 (23:44):
How cute is this?

Speaker 3 (23:45):
I'm loving it? Does that mean I get to ring
the cow bell?

Speaker 1 (23:47):
The cow bell of destiny shall be wrong?

Speaker 7 (23:54):
You know what this call me? It needs more cowbll
more cowbll.

Speaker 1 (23:59):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (24:00):
All right, so second date? It is right.

Speaker 8 (24:02):
Amazing here, this sounds like a fun radio station.

Speaker 1 (24:06):
It is what on the iHeart Radio app on demand
as well as one on one three. That's a plug.

Speaker 7 (24:14):
Okay, you guys, listen you guys in the morning, and
then maybe we can get married on the air.

Speaker 1 (24:18):
Yeah, that'll cost you guys.

Speaker 3 (24:23):
Not yet, not.

Speaker 1 (24:24):
Yet, hang on the line YouTube, hang on?

Speaker 5 (24:26):
Thank you?

Speaker 1 (24:28):
Cute? Although are we just going to ignore the fact
that she dropped the M word right there?

Speaker 3 (24:32):
I was kind of taken aback by that.

Speaker 1 (24:34):
Thankfully she caught herself. Second Date Update seven oh five

if you go to the newly redesigned iHeart Radio app,

iHeart Radio app Star one on one three Poor variety

(24:57):
from the two thousands, the nineties, and today it's Star
one on one three. It's Marcus and Corey Friday Morning,
Good morning.

Speaker 3 (25:03):
Hi.

Speaker 1 (25:03):
Here's a relationship gut check. People in healthy relationships don't
mind giving up these following things. I like the majority
of them. You said there are a couple on here
you don't agree with. Yes, okay, number one on the list.
You can give up always being right and be okay
with it.

Speaker 2 (25:20):
I've gotten totally fine with that because I'm usually wrong.
Trying to remember a conversation we had, I'm like, really, okay.

Speaker 1 (25:31):
Sounds like your husband's a champion gaslighter. That's what that sounds.

Speaker 3 (25:34):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (25:39):
There was a comedian by the name of Ralphie May
who had the best line for fellas. He's like, Fellas,
you can be right or you can be happy.

Speaker 3 (25:49):
Oh there's that.

Speaker 1 (25:51):
So I kind of subscribe to that. To be honest
with you, it's not worth it. I already know I'm right.
I don't have to spread that to everybody. You don't
want to ruin the vibe in the house, there's no point.
What's the point? Something else you give up when you're
in a healthy relationship social media.

Speaker 3 (26:07):
I don't know if I agree with this one, because why.

Speaker 1 (26:12):
Because you don't have time, because you're spending time with
each other being present. Well that's the that's the poetic answer.

Speaker 2 (26:18):
Beginning of a relationship, because we're going to need something
to pass the time to people.

Speaker 1 (26:23):
What it's like about fifteen years in?

Speaker 2 (26:25):
Go ahead, Corey, we're twenty years in, not married, but
we've been together at least twenty.

Speaker 3 (26:30):
Years, right, So how's that TikTok going?

Speaker 1 (26:35):
Still cracks me up that your husband and Jeff is
what I call a lurker. He does not contribute to TikTok,
but he sends us videos all the time because he's
on there. Yep, he's in. If you're in that club,
he's part of your crew. He's a social media lurker.
People in healthy relationships give up comparisons. And I'll couple
that with criticisms.

Speaker 2 (26:56):
Well, there's no I mean, if constructive criticism maybe, but
if you just don't want to. I just feel like
all of these are don't start it, don't do it,
don't make it a mess.

Speaker 1 (27:09):
The problem is sometimes you got to break some eggs
because it's the hardest thing to do is to start
that conversation about something you don't want to talk about
with your person. You've tread very carefully because sometimes you
can't take words back.

Speaker 2 (27:23):
I do that with you all the time. I think
very carefully about what I'm gonna say to you. Do
you really I do because I want to keep a
healthy relationship.

Speaker 1 (27:31):
I was telling my therapist the other day. I was
last night. Actually I do a weekly check in, and
I said, you know, one of the things I appreciate
about my relationship with Corey is if we are having
a disagreement and one of us ticks the other one off,
the one person can say, hey, man, my feelings just
got hurt because you were being a jerk. Here's why,

(27:54):
and then the other person, nine point nine out of
ten times is big enough to go, you know what,
You're right, I'm sorry, I see where you're coming from,
and then we move on.

Speaker 3 (28:03):
That's a healthy relationship.

Speaker 1 (28:05):
I don't get offended.

Speaker 2 (28:07):
I mean when I say that, I think about things
before I say them. It's like, is it necessary to
say that.

Speaker 1 (28:12):
I don't have that gear?

Speaker 8 (28:15):
No, you do not.

Speaker 1 (28:17):
Sorry, people in healthy relationships give up phones in bed.
That's up there with the social media thing.

Speaker 2 (28:26):
I don't bring now, I don't do that. I don't
bring the phone or the tablet or whatever.

Speaker 1 (28:31):
Right, giving up control.

Speaker 3 (28:35):
That's a good one.

Speaker 1 (28:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (28:38):
I mean, I'm more than happy to let Jeff plan something.
Oh my husband, I don't because the thing is, I'm
a little afraid if I plan it it's not going.

Speaker 3 (28:46):
To be up to his standards.

Speaker 1 (28:48):
We have a system, like when we go on vacation,
I am in charge of pre event logistics, so books
the hotel, room, books the car, books the airline tickets,
sends the wife all the information. The second we land
or get to wherever we're going, she is now in charge.
She's the itinerary person because she decides what speed we're moving.

(29:11):
Does that make sense.

Speaker 2 (29:12):
I think it's good to split the responsibilities and the
person who's good at one thing should do that.

Speaker 1 (29:16):
I'm really good at planning the trip, and she's really
good at executing the trip. So there you go. I'm
gonna we have to take a pause because we're runing late.
But there are several on here. Anything you want to
add would be great. Those of you in that have
been in long term relationship. Stuff that works for you. Again,
here's the topic. People in healthy relationships don't mind giving
up these things. Yes, there you go. Hit us with

(29:38):
a talkback on the iHeartRadio app that little red microphone.
Would love it, would love to get some wisdom on
the air. Today. It's time for good News with Marcus
and Corey.

Speaker 2 (29:50):
Sometimes all you need is one a good thought to
make it a great day.

Speaker 3 (29:54):
So let's do this. It's good News on Star.

Speaker 1 (29:59):
Good News this hour brought to you by Stanford Medicine
Children's Health Access to Excellence. We'd go to Corey's home
state of Florida for some hilarious but inspiring news.

Speaker 2 (30:09):
This is Bradenton, not far from where I grew up,
which was Saint Petersburg. There was a pizza delivery person
who was delivering a pizza when she was stopped by
a police officer who said, hey, there's an eight foot
alligator in the driveway of the customer's house. Now, the
police officer is Michael Tolson, and he had already contacted
Fish and Wildlife because they will come out and remove

(30:31):
the gator, right, But they weren't there yet, so he's like,
why don't you take a different route to the house,
And the pizza delivery person said.

Speaker 1 (30:37):
No, nope.

Speaker 2 (30:41):
She asked if he would deliver the pizza for her hero.
So the homeowner went out the front door because she
thought her pizza was there, and she was like no
and went back inside. The police officer went to the
back door so he could get her pizza tour and
everybody was.

Speaker 1 (30:57):
Happy because not all heroes wear capes.

Speaker 3 (31:00):
Yeah, and then the Fish and Wildlife showed up and
removed the gator.

Speaker 1 (31:03):
Would you mind? So Corey grew up in Florida, as mentioned,
can you do your PSA again? About it? How to
evade a gator that might be charging you.

Speaker 2 (31:11):
Gators are very fast. They might not look like it,
but they are very fast runners. But the thing is
they have very short legs. So if you are running
from a gator, use zigzag because they can't really zigzag
quick the.

Speaker 1 (31:22):
Short stubbies right, okay.

Speaker 2 (31:24):
Or you can climb a tree because they can't climb trees,
or get in your car and drive away because they
cannot reach the pedals.

Speaker 1 (31:34):
These are things you learn in elementary school in Florida. Well,
the rest of us are learning earthquake drills.

Speaker 2 (31:40):
Get under your desk for a hurricane, and zigzag away
from a gator.

Speaker 3 (31:47):
You're picturing it right.

Speaker 1 (31:48):
Private school education. I am picturing it a variety from
the two thousands, the nineties, and today it's Star one
on one three. It's Marcus and Corey and it is
time to play the bay his favorite trivia game called
what you Know about That.

Speaker 2 (32:02):

Speaker 1 (35:49):
On Star one oh one three, A variety from the
two thousands, the nineties and today it's Star one O
one three. It's Marcus and Corey and it might be
the cutest for a Friday's ever.

Speaker 3 (36:00):
Very unique one.

Speaker 1 (36:01):
All of the categories are represented. So we have the
cutest dog named Margo's a four month old Lab Retriever mix, gentle, curious, friendly,
little lady. She's the cutest.

Speaker 2 (36:14):
Then we got Freya, who's a one year and nine
month old female cat who looks very Siamese to me.

Speaker 1 (36:21):
Yes. Our shelter this week, by the way, is the
Peninsula Humane Society SPCA. We rotate shelters, trying to clear
them all out, and frankly a lot of them so
they can take more displaced animals from the southern California wildfires. Totally,
so we're doing big things. We have a couple of
bunny rabbits, a bonded pair of newter short haired rabbits
looking for a home together. They look the sweetest. And then,

(36:41):
for the first time I think in the history of
furry Fridays, and we've had some animals on this thing.
We've had iguanas and turtles and things, we have roller Ball,
a thirteen year old roller pigeon.

Speaker 3 (36:52):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (36:53):
Perfect for a first time pigeon family. I was today
years old when I found out you could actually adopt
pigeons to be your.

Speaker 3 (37:00):
Did you also find out that pigeons wear pants?

Speaker 1 (37:03):
I didn't. He's got a pair of pants on. Yes,
he's thirteen.

Speaker 2 (37:06):
Well it's also you know, so you can have him
free room in the house and you won't make a mess.

Speaker 1 (37:10):
Yeah, this is so cute. Anyway, he's he likes to
walk around, wander around wearing his pigeon pants. That's what
just kind of like me on a Friday.

Speaker 3 (37:19):
I'm going to start a new line of clothes called
Pigeon Pants.

Speaker 1 (37:22):
Anyway, this is what we do on Furry Fridays. This
is the mission. Help us clear out the shelters, get
yourself a fur baby for their forever home. Information, UH
pictures and adoption info is on the website one on
one three dot com slash Furry Fridays Star one O
one three. It's Star one on one three. It's Marcus
and Corey about to bounce out of here. Stay dry
out there and drive safely. Yeah, a lot of hydroplaning

(37:43):
going on.

Speaker 3 (37:44):
Yeah, there were a lot of accidents this morning, so
be safe.

Speaker 1 (37:47):
Drying out tomorrow in time for a lot of Saint
Patti's Day festivities here in the city, including Lepra Kahn.

Speaker 3 (37:54):
I get it.

Speaker 1 (37:56):
Hey, have a great weekend. Nina's on the way next.
We'll talk to you Monday.

Speaker 3 (37:59):
Bye.
