Friday was as awful as expected. However, Jeff and I knew we were doing the right thing. I talked about the process and how the woman from Act of Love was so kind. Plus, we share some more of our favorite stories about Loki.

Things People Regret Keeping
  • Old paperwork
  • Unworn Clothing
  • Old Furniture
  • Anything That's Expired
  • Leftover Paint
  • Baby and Kids Items…when the kids are older or grown
  • Unnecessary Duplicates
  • Old Linens
  • Extra Cookware
  • Old Electronics
  • Decor That Doesn’t Reflect Who You Are Now
  • The “Just in Case” Pile

Sea Therapy:
The beach allows for mindfulness because it facilitates being more present when you are watching the ocean, as it’s repetitive and allows for greater connection to the present moment while keeping us engaged.
  • Spending time at the beach can “have profound effects on mental well-being.”
  • This includes benefits like reducing stress, boosting mood, improving sleep and even helping with cognitive restoration.
  • Spending time in the sun also helps the body produce vitamin D, which we need for bone health, immune function and mood regulation.
  • There are some potential downsides to “sea therapy,” including sunburn, dehydration, pollution, allergies and water safety concerns, but they can easily be avoided.

More variety from the two thousands, the nineties, and today
it's Star one oh one three Marcus and Corey Monday morning,
right after six o'clock. What's happening? Hello, Hey, Corey, Hi
and o'krey had a rough weekend this weekend. It's rough.
I had to put her oldest Loki down, so he
crossed the Rainbow Bridge on Friday. I'm gonna want to
know how the kind of the ebb and flow of

(00:21):
the emotions. We're going to talk about it in about
ten minutes or so. But you're holding up, Okay, I'm okay,
all right. Send some love. If you don't mind to Corey,
you can do it on our Instagram. There's a very
sweet picture of Loki. Tell me about this picture.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
That would be in South Dakota where they filmed Dances
with Wolves and we were hiking, and I just I
picked that photo because it's one of my favorite.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
Sure, he looks like he could fit right in the movie.

Speaker 3 (00:53):
He's the One thing about Loki is that he has
traveled the United States.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
Sure, he has been to a lot of different places.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
We're gonna discuss in a few minutes. Like I said,
send some vibes. Always going to do it on the
talk back too. It's a little red microphone on the
iHeartRadio app. If you're streaming Star one on one three
right now. Uh, we've got that coming up. We've got
Disney tickets coming up. We told you about that all
last week.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
Oh yeah, that's gonna be huge because it's two chances
to win this morning.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Four packs of two day, one park per day tickets
for you and the family for this summer. Your first
chance to win going to be seven thirty five. Stay
with us. More variety from the two thousands, the nineties,
and today Star one on one three. It's Marcus and
Corey Monday morning. Good morning, Hello, Corey, had a rough weekend.
We were talking about it basically most of last week.
I know you had to put your oldest dog, Loki down,

(01:43):
So look across the Rainbow Bridge on Friday afternoon. Dog
moms and dads, you get it.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
You know, I get so much amazing messages and support
from people.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
It was so nice because it really sucked.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
Yeah. The woman who came to the house, it was
from a service called Act of Love.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
She was so incredible.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
Her name was Chrissy, and she talked to us and
she was so good with Loki and.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
It was very peaceful.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
And what was interesting is one of my friends who
I knew in Portland sent me a message with a
video of Loki running around with his dog in the backyard,
and I thought to myself, like, that's not Loki anymore.
You know, he's he can't get up, and so we
knew he made the right decision.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
It doesn't make it easier.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
So when you have to make that decision for a
pet or you know, it's akin to me having to
put my dad in a hospice having to make that decision, right,
It's not easy. It's not easy at all.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
We had the other dogs there and it's very interesting
because they kind of sniffed loc and then went on
with their day. Yeah, they were okay. And then my
amazing friend Kim came over on Saturday. She's so incredible.
She brought us rum bunt cake chardonay.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
I was getting asked when that started.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
Yeah, it was. It was so nice of her to
come over and just sucks.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
I remember though, the one time I met Loki and
you warned me. Then I tinkled a little bit. I did,
because he's massive, But I'm a dog guy like I
pride myself dogs like me. I'm a likable dog fella,
and Loki took one look at me and went wrong.
That's when I bet a little bit.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
He's much better with women than men.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
I noticed that because the woman on Friday who was
just so tremendous, she came in hot and I was like,
oh God, and he liked her.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
I would not want to tussle with him, not at all.
It's one hundred pound what do they call him, along
hair German, long haired?

Speaker 2 (04:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
I love the story on Friday about him taking out
the two guys at the ATM that tried to jump
your husband while he was getting cash.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
Uh huh.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
He used the protector. He was the king, the big bro,
the king. Yeah, eighty four foot dog bed.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
Oh my gosh.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
It's just he had a wonderful life. Yeah, he got
to travel. I mean, he's been to more places in
the United States and I'm sure some humans have.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
Do you have like one more memory? We can share
it to honor him.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
We went hiking in Sedona and he was hilarious.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
He loved it. He loved it, but he couldn't get down.
So Jeff hadn't carry him.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
Down the mountain.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
The thought of the Jeff just picking him up, yeah,
slinging him over his shoulder, probably carrying his backpack. Your
backpack carried.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
My own backpack. He could get up, you know, he
could climb. But then he was like, oh wait.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
Was Jeff wearing a shirt when this went down? I'm
just curious.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
I'm sorry. Do you want me to say no? Just
for you?

Speaker 1 (04:58):
All right?

Speaker 2 (04:58):
P Loki?

Speaker 4 (05:01):
You know I said, I've said it a few times,
would please you know? And and if you had to
put an animal done, you understand a talkback would be great.
There is a post in a picture of Loki in
South Dakota on our Instagram Marcus and Corey. Please give
it a follow up and leave Corey a message if
you don't mind, We'll be back at Star one on
one three, a variety from the two thousands, the nineties,
and today it's Star one on one three.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
It's Marcus and Corey Monday morning, Good morning.

Speaker 5 (05:23):
Hello.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
We do love to declutter. These are things to ditch
that others regretted keeping. According to professional movers.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
I love purging and my husband and I have moved
quite often and it's the best feeling to look at
something and go and I've not used that in the year.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
I'm getting rid of it.

Speaker 1 (05:40):
I did it backwards. We moved my dad up to
live with us, and then we threw all these things away.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
Oh because well, I.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
Mean, nobody had time to go down there and clear
his place out. So I just moved it all and
then half a decade later we cleared out in ninety
percent of his things. He never noticed.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
You never touch him.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
Yeah, things to ditch first, old paperwork, coupling that with
old electronics. Yes, there is an electron. You can recycle
that stuff, So just keep that in mind. Anything that's expired, okay,
unworn clothing.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
I mean, we've got a pile in our guest bedroom
right now of clothes that we're getting rid of. I
just we don't have a lot of closet space, and
so it feels so good as I say, this pile
get bigger and bigger.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
Does everybody had the aspiration outfit, the one that says
I'm going to fit into this. I just have to
lose like ten pounds.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
I think.

Speaker 3 (06:27):
So, I mean, I do have a pair of jeans,
but I can get into them again, So I'm happy
about that.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
Other stuff to perch first left over paint. That stuff
does expire and you need to get rid of it properly.
You can typically go down to your local hardware store.
I love this one extra cookwear. I'll never forget one
of my coworkers. You know, she had a pretty good job,
but she married this super rich guy. He moved her
in immediately. Oh wow. And so she had a fire
sale on all of her things. And I was just

(06:53):
got my first apartment and I went in there and
she had the best cookwear and I was like, can
I take this? Can I take this? She's like, I
don't care take it off.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
Oh wow, that's nice.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
We just didn't want to move it. That's nice decor
that doesn't reflect who you are now. Yeah, I remember
when I got rid of my inflatable furniture. I see
your inflatable furniture. Yes, raise you a Budweiser co branded
NFL easy chair blow up by the way.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
Plus I had a glass coffee table that looked like
a piece of the Parthenon.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
Ooh no, tell.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
Me you came up in the nineties with that. Telling
me you came up in the nineties.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
Tell me you brought women over that you never saw again.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
Finally, just in case pile. I'm the just in case pile,
not to be confused with the I might need this pile.
No old twist ties, the rubber bands, a repair piece
from a KitchenAid mixer.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
This is just inspire me because I the other day
I couldn't find something under my sink. It's just cluttered.
I'm like, I'm never going to use that. I'm never
going to use this. I gotta get rid of it.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
Everybody's got a junk drawer. It might be time to
clear out the junk drawer. Yeah, totally, there you go,
thanks to ditch that. Others regret at keeping this again.
According to professional movers, anything to add you can leave
us a talkback on the iHeartRadio app. It's that little
red microphone. If you're streaming Star one on one three
right now.

Speaker 6 (08:10):
This is what I'm talking about.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
It's what's trending on Star one O one three.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
What's happening in entertainment news, the biggest stories of the
day and everything people are talking about today in the Bay.

Speaker 3 (08:22):
What's Trending is brought to you by Cash Creek Casina Resort.
It's your time to cash in at Cash Creek Casina
Resorts Experience Red Corvette, a Princes tribute show live. Buy
your tickets now at Cashcreek dot com. This happened at
the beginning of the weekend. Taylor Swift regained ownership of
her first six albums master recordings. She bought them from
Shamrock Capital for around three hundred and sixty million dollars

(08:44):
because she can, Because she can, she said. She credits
her fans in the success of the Era's tour for
making the deal possible. She hasn't re recorded Reputation yet,
but confirmed a new version of her debut album Taylor
Swift has been re recorded. She and Selena Gomez hit
the town to celebrate. In Manhattan, they went to the
iconic Monkey Bar.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
I love the post she did. I think it was
on Friday where she's sitting there with all of her
albums spread out right and the caption was you belong
with me?

Speaker 2 (09:12):
Oh kids?

Speaker 1 (09:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
There is a festival called to Doom. Netflix's to Doom.
You know the sound it makes it.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
I should have had that ready for you, I know,
because I'm doing a terrible impersonation of it. Well, Lady
Gaga was there this is in Los Angeles. Sofia Carson
was the host, and they did a bunch of announcements
like Stranger Things is going to launch. November twenty six,
they dropped the official trailer for season three of Squid Game.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
They also shared the first six.

Speaker 3 (09:38):
Minutes of season two for Wednesday, Okay, Haley, Joel Osmon
is a part of the cast. He's a serial killer,
and Lady Gaga is going to be in one of
the episodes fun for Wednesday, thank you?

Speaker 1 (09:51):
And before you move on? You know what it was?
The sound effect was supposed to be before they before
they decided on the to Doom what for it? It
was gonna be a goat true story. It was going
to be a to Dome Goat.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
Interesting. I don't get it, but that's fine.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
Every time your movie fired up, that's what you were
gonna hear.

Speaker 3 (10:14):
Ben Affleck and Matt David were plugging their new Miami
drama Rip The Rip and Sesame Street is getting a
new home at Netflix.

Speaker 1 (10:23):
Remember what a great show.

Speaker 3 (10:24):
Yeah, PBS lost a bunch of funding and so now
they're going to Netflix.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
I grew up so hard on that show that whenever
we would go on a road trip, I wouldn't ask
how much longer, I would say how many sesame streets?

Speaker 6 (10:36):
Mom?

Speaker 1 (10:36):
Oh, that was my point of reference as a kid.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
ARIANA Grande's joining the cast of Meet the Parents. There's
another sequel coming out. It's supposed to come out in
twenty twenty six.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
We don't know a lot of details yet, but Robert
de Niro, Ben Stillar, Terry Polo, and Blive Danner are
set to return, and the guy who co wrote the
three previous movies will be directing and also writing the script.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
Very cool.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
Yeah, I like that.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
Let's see. Locally, we're gonna have super nice weather, little
bit of heat wave on the weekend, but nothing crazy.
It's only gonna get about listen to me only so
in Livermore in the interior valley is about eighty five okay,
which after Friday and Saturday, not that serious. Yeah, let's see.
So the Jelly Roll post Malone tour kicked off with

(11:22):
a bang. The Big Butt Stadium tour is, yes, and
the girl is fine, but of a firework during the
pyro display actually hit a fan in the head. Oh No,
she's mostly okay, you know, burns some of her hair,

(11:42):
but I think the craziest part about this story is
that she was actually videoing Jelly Role singing the song
save Me and right when you hear the lyrics and
I quote, I'm so damaged beyond repair. The firework got her.
She got it on video. I have to review that
video if I'm gonna post it. I don't know if
it's appropriate. Yeah or not? She's fine?

Speaker 2 (12:05):
Okay, Now that's terrible.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
Hopefully they get in front of this and I would
offer her the world. Come backstage, hang out. We want
to meet you. Here are some tickets, bring your friends.
Let's get you a party bus. Otherwise, I don't know
how this ends.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
Uh, let's see what.

Speaker 1 (12:23):
Else do I have for you? So here is the
latest TikTok trend. Are you ready, Corey?

Speaker 2 (12:28):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (12:28):
Would you put sliced holapanos into your Chardonnay?

Speaker 2 (12:33):
No?

Speaker 1 (12:34):
Okay? So the latest TikTok trend is jalapeno seven, Yon Blanc,
ew chilled seven, Yon Blanc, and you ad you say spicy?
Save Blanc is the vibe, It's the move. They have
yet to find a reviewer that doesn't like it. I
don't like Save Blanc. If I want to be honest
with oh, I dig sab blank quite a bit. You
and I are different in that sense.

Speaker 3 (12:55):
So if I'm gonna be I mean, I don't want
that anyway. Okay, so don't want it with alapennos on.

Speaker 1 (13:01):
It, halapenos and your chardonay. We should we should do it.
Take no, I don't know, Well, think about it off
the er. Well I'll ask you next, douur.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
I mean, the thing is I wouldn't not try it.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
Sure, let's do that up on the Marcus of Corey
Instagram momentarily. We will have the picks. On the weekend,
I was with the family at cold Play at Stanford
with fifty thousand other people.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
That was a huge crime.

Speaker 1 (13:25):
I have to hand it to Stanford because we got
in and out very easily nice for that many people.
And then we talked about it earlier. Corey had to
send her dog Loki over the Rainbow Bridge over the
weekend on Friday, which was difficult. But thank you for
the throwback picks of our puppy, yeah, our hero. We
have those up on the Marcus Acrey Instagram. Please give
it a follows.

Speaker 2 (13:46):
What self catch what's trending every weekday morning on the
fifties does six fifty seven fifty AM.

Speaker 5 (13:53):
And Connection Now with Marcus and Corey everywhere at Star
one O one three FM, and.

Speaker 1 (13:59):
I'm marcusin back variety from the two thousands, the nineties
and today it's Star one on one three, It's Marcus
and Corey and we're back with second Date Update.

Speaker 3 (14:07):
It's not easy dating, and it's not to find somebody
on a on an app or maybe even in real life.
You want to get that second date and you're not
getting it, and we want to know why.

Speaker 1 (14:17):
Bring it in. Doug, Good morning, Doug, good morning. How
are you hey?

Speaker 4 (14:20):
Man?

Speaker 1 (14:20):
So we want to talk about Michelle. Obviously I understand
you guys met on Bumble. What can you tell us?

Speaker 6 (14:26):
Yeah, we had we had some communication prior to that,
Like we were texting and talking and stuff and super
sweet leading up to it. And we met at the
yard House and conquered a couple of weeks ago, and
it was I described it as the longest happy hour
of my life, but in a good way. We just
like ate up the clock. The conversation was great. We

(14:47):
both like made fun of how we can barely afford
Livier anymore, and that, Yeah, we probably ordered three quarters
of the appetizer menu as well, and we both walked
to our cars and had like a nice hug after dinner.
No kiss, but like it was you. No, I felt
like there was a connection, and I just I've been
on to mediocre dates that I would be on the

(15:09):
phone with you. I think I have a good gage
for this stuff. So I'm just shocked at the whole
thing when kind of like lukewarm.

Speaker 1 (15:15):
Was it impossible that you talk too much?

Speaker 2 (15:17):
Why would you say that?

Speaker 1 (15:18):
I'm just curious, Well, he said, because it was too
much right now? No, no, no, no, because you said it
was the longest happy hour ever. You did say it's
in a good way. I just want to make sure
that did you ask her questions? Was she able to touch?
Felt right?

Speaker 6 (15:31):
I felt like we were equal parts in this so
we were just kind of off of each other.

Speaker 1 (15:36):
Sorry, just trying to figure it out.

Speaker 3 (15:38):
All right, here's something again, please, So she decides to
take the entrance exam for a CIA espionage program, and
obviously she can't tell him about that. She's immediately chosen
to be part of a top secret mission in the
Middle East, and then she gets set upon by Soviet
forces in Afghanistan, and then realize it is not too
long after that that she's actually a decoy, she's not

(16:01):
the actual real spies.

Speaker 1 (16:04):
That's why she's not calling him back.

Speaker 2 (16:05):
Yeah, she's busy. She's on a secret mission.

Speaker 6 (16:08):
If you do look at your phone, though, it's not
nineteen eighty six, so that's the only bullet with the Soviets.
So in afghanis.

Speaker 2 (16:22):
Spies like us. Yeah, did I nail it? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (16:25):
God, I'm getting good all right. Anyway, Sorry, Doug.

Speaker 2 (16:29):
Let's I'm not I'm not sorry at all.

Speaker 1 (16:32):
Let's get back to the thing. So here's what we're
gonna do. We're gonna call Michelle. We're gonna ask her
what she thought of the dates, and then ultimately i'd
love to get you a second day, but at least
let's get you some answers. Okay, that sounds great. All right,
we'll be right back with it. It's Second Date Updates,
Star one one three, Star one on one three. It's
Marcus Kory doing Second Date Update. We're chatting with Doug

(16:52):
and he and Michelle hooked up at the Yardhouse in Concord.
I believe that's the verendous shop accessor. That's fun and
you guys met on Bumble, right, Doug. I like the
fact that he said it was the longest happy hour
of his life, but in a good way, which means
they chatted, yes, a lot, but she has ghosted sense,
so let's call her and try to figure some things out.

(17:13):
Don't go ahead and mute your phone, okay, so you
can listen in here we go.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
Hello, I may speak with Michelle. Please.

Speaker 1 (17:25):
This is Michelle.

Speaker 2 (17:26):
I'm Michelle. It's Marcus and Corey from Star one oh
one three?

Speaker 7 (17:30):
Hey, Hi, I love you guys.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
Are you busy?

Speaker 3 (17:37):
Never?

Speaker 7 (17:37):
Never too busy for you?

Speaker 6 (17:38):
So?

Speaker 1 (17:38):
I don't know if you know what time it is,
but we're doing second Date Update right now. Are you familiar?

Speaker 7 (17:44):
Oh yeah, it's one of my favorite things to listen to.

Speaker 2 (17:47):
We would like you to be on it.

Speaker 7 (17:52):
I was really hoping this would go away.

Speaker 2 (17:55):
Do you know who we're calling you about?

Speaker 6 (17:57):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (17:57):
Yes, okay, Doug, Yes, I know you're there.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
All right, Hi, Hi, I heard happy Hour was pretty amazing.

Speaker 2 (18:12):
Yes it was.

Speaker 7 (18:13):
He was doing great.

Speaker 2 (18:14):
He was doing good.

Speaker 1 (18:15):
But Doug tell us when he face planted.

Speaker 7 (18:21):
There was a test apparently, what and Doug, it really
pissed me off?

Speaker 1 (18:28):
A test? You said, yes, please elaborate end.

Speaker 5 (18:34):
So it was going great, It was going so well.
Right after we hug goodbye, he says, oh, by the way,
you passed. And I asked him to explain, and he says,
I have this little test at the end of dates,
and if a girl offers to pay her part, she passes.

Speaker 7 (18:54):
My entitlement test is what now what entitled?

Speaker 1 (19:01):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (19:02):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (19:02):
So that's an entitlement test.

Speaker 6 (19:05):
Yeah, okay. So basically, in my book, the women always
expect for the men to pay for everything. But I
kind of I liked the offer.

Speaker 2 (19:17):
I know it seems.

Speaker 6 (19:18):
Stupid because they're going to pay for it anyway, but
the offer, the kind of the reach for the wallet
and at least say that she wants to pay her
way and all that. And she did that and I
appreciated it.

Speaker 1 (19:29):
Is all so that made you like her more?

Speaker 2 (19:32):
Why did you have to say it out loud? Why
do you have to acknowledge it?

Speaker 6 (19:35):
I don't know I did. I just was like, she
was great in every way, and then I want to
say that you're even more great because of that. I
still got the bill. Sure, that's not the point, though,
I just wanted to sort of know that she's like winning,
you know, like.

Speaker 1 (19:50):
What, oh god?

Speaker 7 (19:53):
Yeah, So I felt like it just left a really
bad taste in my mouth. Calling women entitled. He has
a chip on his shoulder. It's gross.

Speaker 6 (20:02):
You don't understand what I've been through, what most men
have been through, is that women are mostly not exclusively entitled,
and they think that we're like your personal atm car.
So when you at least act like you're not, it's appreciated.

Speaker 2 (20:19):
I have a bad taste in my mouth and out
all right.

came out to represent on Saturday morning at PayPal Park
for the March of Dimes March for Babies that I
am see. Was it a big turnout, Yes, it was
great good So if you came and it was it
was hot. But here's what I loved about the whole
thing is that we we walked inside the stadium and
it was all shaded.

main causes for me for March of Dimes obviously having
been born with cerebral palsy six weeks early, so also
a premie, but like just understanding and recognizing the struggle
that families go through, sure when they're having to deal
with something, and how an organization like that and their
partners kind of it was, you know, we brought the
village together.
