They're an off day down there inNaheim, and our next guest is
not only a Hall of fame Rinersbroadcast room, he's a world renowned chef

(02:02):
and people that don't know this.In his downtime when he's in Anaheim,
he heads over to Disney World, where he is on road trips many he
dresses up as many on his offdays. And joining us right now from
Anaheim is Gary Hills Junior from theMariners broadcast team. Hello, Gary,
how's the park? You know thatI am honestly in Disneyland right now as

(02:25):
you say that, so no wayyou know it's the family trip. So
my family is here with me.They are in line for Pirates for the
Caribbean. I stepped out to talkto you guys because I love you so
much. But you're not kidding.I am in Disneyland right now. Wow,
Pirates in the Caribbean's awesome. Yougot to get back in line.
We'll call you later. I know, I don't know. I'll jump back

(02:49):
in. It's a long line,so it's yeah, it always is.
And it's the only one there rightwhere you can't get the fast pass.
That's exactly right. Yes, yougotta wait it out. Yeah, I
was us there but a few monthsago. It's the only one. See
Gary cares more about his family thanBrad does. Because Brad's out golfing today
again. Yeah, Brad wouldn't dothis. Brad would tell us the pounds,
saying, are you gonna go?Hey? Have they closed? Have

(03:10):
they closed because they're redoing it?Have they closed Splash Mountain yet? Splash
Mountain is closed? Yes? Yeah, Finly, my oldest is upset by
that, but we'll be okay. Are you a roller coaster guy? You're
gonna you're gonna go to Space Mountain. You're gonna do the Matter Horn all
that. I'll do a couple probablynot those two though. Oh you don't

(03:31):
like him, See I don't likeroller coasters. Well, I'm okay with
him, but I can't. Ican't wait in line for an hour to
put myself through that. That doesn'tmake any sense to me. Like I'm
not really enjoy it and I'm gonnawait an hour for it, Like that
doesn't make any sense. What's what'sa day of Disneyland cost for a family?

(03:51):
These days? Everything I have?I mean we're talking that type of
thing. No, it's more thanthat. It's up there man, because
I mean how many kids you have? Two? Yeah, I mean you

(04:12):
factor in like to eat there theride, Yeah, you got a factor
all. This isn't all We're hereall day because this is the one up
day, so it's all day, food, the whole thing. Yeah,
it's gonna be a lot. Idon't want to know, honestly, Yeah,
you don't. You don't want toknow. Hey, you know it's
got a good lunch. I couldn'ttell you who's got a good lunch?
Really, I like it is rightby the parents of pirates of the Caribbean.

(04:34):
Is that little uh, the oneright next to the Louisiana Restaurant?
That's right there. Oh that's agood one. Good spot, really good
spot. Oh, by the way, thank you for the dinner suggestion in
San Diego. Did you go?Did you guys go? Yeah? We
Yeah, it was excellent. Yeah, it's a good spot. That old
barrio up there and buy the zooand San Diego, San Diego. Do

(04:55):
you find yourself wishing why do Iwhy do I not live here? It's
the greatest. I'm always so madthat it's always a two game series and
it's like it's not long enough forSan Diego. Those should be the four
game series. Hey, this wasthis was kind of someone had wrote about
it or I saw at someplace, and it was a great description of these

(05:15):
two games. And again Gary HillJuniors with this Marins broadcast team and where
it was the good and bad forboth teams because both teams are kind of
stuck in this like weird season rightnow, expectations they're not playing up to
their expectations. Where you saw thegood for the Mariners the bad for the
Padres in game one, and thenyou know the potential of both, and

(05:38):
then you saw the potential the Padresin game two, and then the bad
of the Mariners. They're in Gametwo, so kind of a weird series
and kind of a weird last fewstarts. It feels like for George Kirby,
you're right on both those sayings. So I kept thinking that in the
entire series against the Padres where thatit's it's a mirror match in a lot
of ways, because both teams havesky high expectations and both teams haven't met

(06:00):
him yet, and both teams arelooking for the spark to get it going,
and both teams had one of thosegames. Like I thought, the
Mariners first game of the series wasexactly what they want to do and how
they want to play. The startingpitching was excellent, Gilbert was great,
bullpen was great. They had long, solid vats not to start out early,
and they hit a couple of homeruns. It's like two scripts how

(06:24):
the Mariners want to play. Gametwo was not and that was the Padres
team that we kind of expected cominginto the season. Soto five hits,
but shout of the whole thing. It's weird when you look at their line
up, how they're not good offensively. It makes no sense. And yeah,
the Kurvy things so odd. He'sbeen so consistent and so great all
year, yet these last couple oftimes or not. You know, the

(06:46):
time before against Yankees, it wasgreat time before that he struggled. This
time it was. It was reallystrange. I felt like this start hinged
on a couple of play appearances whereI don't know if he gets through Sanchez,
I feel like the start is differentinstead of home run, And I
felt that way about Carpenter. It'sjust he had them O two and they
scored their first round because he justleft it over the plate for Carpenter to

(07:08):
hit. In that sense, notsomething you usually see from Kirby, but
a strange series. And you werehoping after the first game that they would
really build off in game two,But now you're hoping after an off to
if they can get things rolling againstthe Angels. Because the reality now when
you look at things, they're staringup at a bunch of teams. The
Angels are one of them. Soit's important when you have fewer cracks at

(07:30):
teams in your division that you takeadvantage of it. So they'll try and
do that starting tomorrow. Okay,Gary, I'm I'm a negative guy at
heart at nature. I admit it. My my glass. My glass is
usually half MTM, cynical, skeptical, I'm all those things. But well,
I mean you're not You're not likethat? What what? What?

(07:53):
What could give me? What aboutthis team should give me hope? I
mean seriously, because I mean there'sso many reasons to not have hope anymore
about everything. For that man,why do you think get drinks so much?
Yeah, it's good. Thank youfor narrowing it down, because I

(08:13):
didn't know what which direction we're goingon. This is what i'd say.
I feel like you could have saidthe same thing about last year, and
we saw how last year it turnedout. I would say the rotation is
still really good. And I knowthey've had some hiccups, but when you're
rolling out Castile Gilbert Kirby three yearfifths, that's really so. That's a

(08:35):
really good threesome. And I stilldo feel like and I know we haven't
seen it full yet, although likeTaosker spent better, there are track records
with their offense. You're not askingguys, except for probably Kelnick, who's
in a different both than everyone else. You're not asking you guys to do
things they've never done before. You'rejust hoping that they can revert to what

(08:56):
they've been in the past. Andif you couple what the rotation has been
with what you're hoping to see whatthe guys have been in the past,
and you're not asking for eight runsa ball game, you're asking for four
or five. And if you dothat consistently, they can put her on
together. So that's that's the hope. I think it is the world.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, Imentionally, yeah, you know, you

(09:20):
don't seem convinced over there, yousee, No, Gary, Yeah,
Gary's a koog man. I'm gonnalisten to what he has to say here.
I think that the I guess theflip side of it would be this,
Gary, would be the teams thatare now, like opposed to last
year, there are more teams playingbetter now, especially you know in the
American League East, and you knowwith the shortened schedule and I not shortened

(09:43):
schedule, but with the you know, you're not playing you know they're gonna
play the A's nineteen times anymore, right, you're playing you're playing everyone thirteen
times. And it's been mentioned beforelike the AL East is not going to
cannibalize itself like it probably did.I mean, there's just a teams that
are playing so much better in frontof them right now, and it just
seems that they are not being ableto take that next step where they left

(10:05):
off last year. And I wouldask this, I don't on the horizon,
whether it's trades or what they cando. It doesn't seem like there's
much out there as of now,and I know what can change in the
next month or so, but itjust feels like the core they're guys are
the ones that have got to turnit around. I agree with that one
hundred percent. I don't think therethere's no one you're calling up. There's

(10:26):
no one you're bringing in that isgonna make that kind of difference. It's
who's here. I mean, it'sthe guys here that are going to make
the difference. That's the thing, and that's where we're kind of waiting on.
So I think you're one hundred percentright on that there's no there's no
one riding in to save the day, like it's gonna be this group of
guys to turn it around. Imean, maybe there'll be some guys to
help on the margins, you know, maybe Dylan Moore comes in and helps

(10:48):
against lefties that kind of thing.Smunos is back obviously, that's that's a
big difference maker. But it's thiscore, that's the thing. I mean,
it's it's Julio and te Oscar andSuarez being better and just go down
the list. That's what it is. His name is Gary Hill Junior.
He's the one that got out ofEdward our Merle School of Communication. Everyone's

(11:11):
envious, they look up to him, and why he hasn't won Have you
been awarded yet, like a MerrowSymposium award yet? I mean we're not
gonna get one, but I thinkyou should. I mean, you know,
besides, you know, the thegreats Copple and rather when when's your
turn? I Am never gonna winan award, mostly because I'm not deserving

(11:33):
of any kind of award, really, I mean that's why. It's it's
the they don't really award mediocrity,so well, you know, pucket night
they give us. We haven't wonanything either, Gary. It's it's it's
sad, It really is sad,and it's a reflection. I look in

(11:54):
the mirror every morning. Go mediocreis good. It's okay, it's fine.
Hey, I said we had Goldsmithon I don't know last week,
two weeks ago. Let me haveGoldsmith. Yeah, I said, Rough,
I'll be honest with you. Rough. I said this to him,
And I've told you this before itprobably in private and stuff. But the
chemistry between you two is is unbelievable. It's great. It's like a comedy

(12:18):
routine. Um. I wish Icould listen to it more and more and
more of it. I mean,if I was put in charge more of
it. But um, this isgreat. You guys do a great job.
You do a fabulous job calling games, running the ship there pre and
post game show and also calling thegames. Keep it up, man,
you're doing great. Get back toyour family. Enjoy Pirates of the Caribbean.
We'll talk soon. Thanks for that. And it's all pretend with me

(12:41):
and Aaron. We actually don't speakoff there at all, so it's all
You're the best. See Gary. Thanks Gary, Thanks guys, talk to
you. You know one of theguys that you probably had went to school
somebody like when we were in schooltogether and we were doing baseball games.
You just there's the guys that youknow you're like, oh, he's that
one's gonna make it. Yeah,no one ever said that about me,

(13:01):
but we always said that about Gary, like Gary's He's gonna make it.
Did you just meet him? Theircommunications in one of your classes classes,
and then we did baseball games together, you know, part of the programming.
You just kind of knew right awayand that he would. He just
had there the play by play andhe was the analyst. Wund we would

(13:22):
just one person would do an inningor two and then the other person,
you just would two innings. You'dbe the analyst, two innings, you'd
be the play by play. Anddon't you still in the back of your
mind kind of think you'd like todo that? Oh? I would,
But yeah, I think it wastold to me. Maybe not. I
don't think anybody told you that. But no, Gary's doing you doing a
great job. And you mentioned outenough tapes and they don't come back they

(13:45):
tell you, you know, Iguess. But how many years ago was
that? It was a long timeor was it just a month ago?
It was last week? Okay,Um, here's are you hopeful? Well,
now here's I said there there,there's I hate doing this. It's
yelling, screaming two minute range. But I just I am comments by the

(14:09):
GM of this team. It's justit just angers me. It really really
does. And I get so tiredof listening to the same rhetoric over and
over and over again. You knowthis, this this talking point he now
has is, well, no,I'm not going to mortgage the future to

(14:30):
improve the team. I'm not goingto trade away all these guys to you
know, everyone's clamoring for us totrade who's clamoring for that? I cover
all of it. I look ateverything on social media and and listen to
everything. Who's clamoring to trade awaytheir prospects. I'm not, You're not.

(14:52):
I don't want you want help forthe current team too, sure,
and to do that you have totrade the problems. But no one's begging
for that. No one's claiming theyneed to trade Handcock. No one's begging
they need to trade Brian Wou orany of their top players. No one
is saying that. No one ourshow, in the morning show, Chuckabuck,
we we couldn't be polar opposites ofhow we view the marias right,

(15:13):
safe to say, yeah, Ithink they probably are a little more positive.
I'm just saying our opinions are andthat's fine, that's the way it
should be. First of all,why would you want every show to be
the same. That would be boring. But I think what we would both
agree on. And if Buck he'slistening, would text me, has he
ever heard me? Or isn't yousay, well, we need to trade

(15:35):
Hancock, we need to trade Celesti, and we need to trade Harry Ford.
I don want to trade any ofthese guys. No, but is
it yeah? But isn't it understoodthat you would have to trade one of
those guys to get a quality play. There's nothing out there of quality of
return. We said it last week. What did we say? We said
it with Gary. The only waythey're going to turn this thing around.
The only way is if their coreguys, can you turn your phone off?

(15:58):
It keeps? The only way,Jesus is that the pub reminder,
Hey, you have a reservation ofbart the pub. The only way they're
going to turn around the core guysturn it around. That's it, and
they're gonna have to take it.They can make a trade, but not
certainly trade away one of their coreguys, like he intimates, like everyone
wants me to trade away my coreguys, no one wants to do that.

(16:22):
You are you are falsifying a narrativethat does not exist. But you
can you go get Jock Peterson.Sure, you can go get Jock Peterson.
The Giants fall out and pay themand eat the remaining of his nineteen
million dollars. Jock Peterson would bean unbelievable fit for this organization. But
I am so I'm so pissed offof just listening. Oh well, we're
you know, I mean five hundred, we're kind of still there. He's

(16:45):
been the GM, he's been runningthis team for eight years. They've been
in the postseason one time. Ifthey don't make it this year, my
Matt tells me, that's nine yearswith one postseason appearance. How why do
people accept that as good? I'vejust never I can't wrap my my he
get but he gets a break becausehe broke the playoffs. Okay, it's

(17:07):
one appearance. Be we act.We have parades and we celebrate, and
it's like on and on and on, and I mean other markets they laugh
and look at it. There's teamsand fan bases in our own market that
laugh at us. If you're aSeahawks fan, let's say you're not emarrassan.
They look at you're like, whatdo you what are you celebrating?
I'll bring up the Sounders, theSounders. Would you make an argument the
Sounders probably the most successful, nodisrespect of the Storm, most successful let's

(17:33):
say Men's franchise in this city.Yes, we're all nodding. Yes,
how many m MLS Cups have twoConker calf No team has ever won that
before? Correct? You listen totheir fans. I listened to ten minutes
last night of Jackson felt his Sounderscoverage. And if you listen to anders
and and Felt he talk about Imean there's talking about Ido Schmetzer could be
on the hot seat. Is thisis a guy who' led to the Matu

(17:56):
MLS Cup. Most successful franchise thiscity has seen on the Men's there's an
expect fans can get rid of theGM, but there's an expectation. There's
a demand from that fan base,a demand that you be good. And
they're not good this year. They'rethey've been playing poor and the fans are
letting them have it because the expectationis to be an MLS Cup title guy.

(18:18):
They set their own expectations to startthis season their own where their manager
wrote on a whiteboard twenty twenty three, win the whole thing. And then
they turn around and they go,you know where not. I mean,
I listen to it again today. We're not built just for one year.
We're built for nine years and tenyears. That's not what you said in

(18:38):
a video, your video. Yousaid it was this year, and the
round and round and round of well, when it's time to spend, will
do it. And then you didn'tdo it, and you and you,
you, you, you, you, you trotted out this crap sandwich of
offseason acquisitions and wanted this this thisfan base just lap it up because you

(19:03):
broke a playoff drought and you tryto convince people smart people understand who bought
it, by the way, thatoh Lostella is going to be a good
fit. Done, Cooper Humble isgoing to be done. Aj Pollock done,
Colton Wong done. Hey, Oscar, I mean he's still here.

(19:23):
I just I just wish this fanbase would just please just demand more and
stop being and just buying into itall the time of it's just okay where
they're at right now. It's notokay where they're at right now. It's
not it's not to say you're givingup on the team. This is the
other part of it. Everyone thinksyou're giving up on the team. No

(19:45):
one's given up on team. Butno, no one should just sit here
as a fan your local pub, because that's what it is, a sports
stock gets. You're sitting at yourbar and you'r bs and over beers and
you're double fisting to keel and bourbon. No I go to these places.
You know what they're not saying atthese places? Oh well, you know,

(20:06):
but we're built for next year andthe years to come because we've got
a young cores. Are you kidding? That has people who do this for
a living and support they are operatein non reality because that's not how fans
think. And when you go tothese places, what do the fans say?
Terrible season so far? This isunderwhelming? What are we doing?

(20:27):
We didn't get it back, Wedidn't do this, we didn't do that.
I just wish the more of uswould just acknowledge that. And last
night was embarrassing, an embarrassing game. Yeah, teeth kicked in? Your
teeth kicked in by Michael Waka.Let me come on, guys of the

(20:48):
month. I don't care what itdoesn't It really doesn't matter. It doesn't
matter who the Mariners are facing.Now. You look at Otani tomorrow night
and you know it's going to bea rough night. But it can be
a guy that was just called upfrom Triple A and they struggle against him.
Their their first run yesterday, thatwas a beauty, wasn't It was
like a little league run that theymanufactured three walks on a hit by pitch.
So no, you're right. Imean you can, you can draft

(21:10):
and develop and trade, but youneed to supplement that with free agent splashes.
And they told us that they weregoing to make a splash at the
appropriate time. Then and then Ihear and the World Series is the isn't
it the goal of every team? But that's especially for this franchise. It
should be what they said. Theysaid it, and then they go and

(21:30):
he backtracks on it. Yeah youknow, but uh yeah, but it's
it's you know, it's it's along term play here. I don't he
gets away when he gets away withit because of the playoff drought and because
he talks so well, he's areally good talker. He can work a
rule. That guy can work arun. He's unreal at it. He's
like newhisl that one again. Iwill contend that it's it's again, you

(21:53):
know me, and we've discussed asmany times before. I don't think it's
his fault. I don't. Ithink this is an ownership issue. I
just maintain that that's my opinion.Whatever. I just think it's right.
He operates on a budget. Ijust am not convinced that those two guys
who appear to be smart and baseballjust sit there and go, no,

(22:14):
we don't want to spend any moremoney. What GM? Just just answer
me this? What GM in anysport would ever say, Now, that's
too much money for me, especiallyin a sport where there is no salary
cap. Why wouldn't your job securitydepends on it? If you're thinking about
yourself instead of the greater good? But who who really in their in their

(22:37):
heart of hearts? We want tosee the core, you know, Oh,
the core? You know, weneed the core of the guys that
are here. We need them toturn it the round in your heart of
hearts. You really think that's goingto happen? I mean, come on,
that's not going to happen. Imean it will for a couple of
players, but a few a fewof the players are going to continue to
struggle or not get you to apoint. I mean, I was looking
at today, Tampa Bay has wonfive in a row. Their record is
you know, through the roofs arelike thirteen games behind them. I know

(23:02):
they're not in the same division, but at the pace they're at right now,
they'd be like, what twenty fivethirty games behind Tampa Bay at the
end of it. So you cantalk about trying to track down the Rangers
the Astros, which is a pipedream anyway, but the bigger pipe dream
is thinking that you have a shotat the World Series this year. And
I was there's so many teams thata better than that, and I want
to stop hearing and I heard thisto get it. While we're young,

(23:22):
you are well. JP's twenty eight, Kalaawi will turn twenty seven, Suarez
is thirty one, Tai Frances twentyit will be twenty nine. That's right
in the prime. You're not young, and you're not like this kind of
getting towards the twilight issue, notyoung like they like to think they are.
Julio's young, and Jared's young, and your pitchers are you? Yeah,
Suarez is thirty, so stops itwhile we're just young. Built for

(23:47):
the future. I just it's just, you know, and then I hear,
what do you want to be like? The Padres spend all this money?
Do people like research? And lookwhat the Padres do, And sometimes
I just don't think they do.They built that team on trades. Now
are they working out? Well? Not right now? They isn't. They
traded for Hater, they traded forBlakes. Now they trade it for you

(24:08):
dollars. They trade it for Fernandoti Tatt's, they trade it for Juan
Soto and jeez, what did theydo? They supplemented it by going out
and signing Xander Bogart's. They trade, they draft, they supplement. I
mean that that's the model that theyclaim over here to subscribe to. Then

(24:30):
they don't do one third of it. Soto five for five yesterday, that's
pretty good. It had more hitsin the Mariners. That's pretty good.
That's it. I just I justI had to get that one off.
I just was that game just justirritated me last night. Yeah, you
finally had a gamerre. You're going, okay, those are the Mariners.
I remember from last year. There'sa good pitching, they had some power,

(24:52):
they had enough runs, they gotto four runs. Everybody talked about
four runs being the magic number. And then I go out and I was
doing some stuff around the house andGary Hill actually I was like, okay,
it's Padres, eight Mariners. Nothing. I was like, what what
can I look Kurt with Kirby?Yeah, with Kirby and I love I
love Gary, and I love Aaronand I love Riz and you know all
that. I'll be honest with youthis season, I'm getting a little tired
of hearing all the stories because that'swhat it's turned into. Because the games

(25:17):
are over, so they've got astorytell yeah. Yeah, No, it
was more of the same yesterday. But all right, voicemails next, christ
Very, how many of voicemails dowe have today? Five voicemails? We
can do them with the iHeartRadio.I've got to download the app. There's

(25:37):
a mic icon there. You hitit record and you can record a thirty
second message. You rant along, have another Maria have a Mariner's rant like
myself, whatever are you're gonna beanything, impressions, make fun of people,
make fun of us. Please. Also, Ian Lark did not call
back, So again, first andlast name four nine, first and last

(26:00):
name, city where you're from?Four nine four five one. It's an
Emerald Queen Casino EQC note Thursday. So that will roll over to the noon
hour and we will hand out twohundred dollars. But you have what twenty
three more minutes to get your textin first and last name, city where
you're from four four five one,and we'll pull out another name, our
final name for the day for twohundred bucks. We gave away four hundred

(26:22):
tim holes out of Carnation in ourfirst hour. Five voicemails. Again,
any complaintstick fan of iHeartMedia dot com. Good afternoon, guys. I'm speaking
for myself and mainly a lot ofSeattle sports fans that we need more Jason
Pucket rants must come right in,well said, sir, Have a good

(26:45):
day, Jim, have a safetrip, have fun. Create those memories.
That's right, thanks guys, createthose memories, Jimbo. Yeah,
well, thank you for that call. That was really nice. London,
London is your oyster, London ismy oyster, and we need more Rams
from you. Yeah, she's yellingin the well. You didn't really yell,
but you kind of guys. Ithink it was the heat yesterday too.

(27:10):
It was a buggy and just sticking. I'm outside sitting in there,
you know, like you're eight nothingken, nothing. Please didn't sit well
with you. I did not,did not. Every time you speak to
a player in the preseason or spring, their goal is to win it all,
the World Series, super Bowl?So why should fans have lower expectations

(27:33):
than players themselves? And regarding Jerrywanting to be a good nine years down
the line, do you think Ramsfans are pissed at their organization? Isn't
the toilet? No, they wonit all, that's the goal. I
don't know. It's a great point. But the expectations from the players is
to win it all. The expectationfrom the front office was to win it

(27:56):
all. Yet we have I justsometimes with fans who were just like I
think, there's just sometimes there's somefans in here are like rotisserie baseball more
than and they like the building ofthe the prospects, and it's about to
win. It's winning. It's it'swinning games and winning a World Series like
now, and then you take allthe prospects and how many truly pan out

(28:22):
Chimball black community, my man goingto London. Hell, you might as
well stopping bricks, get my friend, get some of that pure Caribbean food.
Where you're listening to everybody talking likethis, even though we in London
and everyone talking, oh get up, you're like, oh, let me
get somebody that check by. Youwant to go Brixton? Okay, look

(28:48):
right down Brixton. I want youto go to Brixton and I want you
to walk into one of these placesand do that. What would they get?
Do that? Yeah? Do that? All right, I'll do Brixton,
I'll do it. How about that'sa neighborhod London better for food now
because in eighty eight it was notgood. What has never been? You'll
find out, Jim, don't.I just remember England being England and Ireland

(29:11):
were not food capitals. A reputationof not being a foodie city. I
would maybe it's such change. Maybemaybe it's change fish and chips. Though
I live off that Ireland is awful. Back in eighty eight, people are
great, the beer was great, but the food, oh not good.
Not good Hey guys, ge HughJerry here with a quick update. Third
Dana Row on the Mariners. ScottService continues to bounce around Jared Kilnick like

(29:34):
a ping pong ball, but theanalytics and metrics say keep him at the
six. No, wait, leadoff, let's try clean up. Back to
five, then third, now backto six. Great managing Scottie. Also
everybody's favorite second baseman, Shone Figgins. Excuse me, Colton Wong, We'll
could be continue to get in shovingthe lineup full of crap for no apparent

(29:55):
reason. Thanks, guys, havea great day. I do enjoy myself.
G Q Jerry, he doesn't forme. I don't know about you.
Over two yesterday? Who was thewater? Yeah? What do you
want? I mean, Kelnick's apparentlymore productive at number six than he is
any other spot. Okay, thenI'd leave him there. Just whatever.

(30:21):
Hello boys, Ross flat your half. I'm down at Jano's pounding wine a
bit early, waiting for Felip growBauer and the boys that talk crack kind
of hawking. It should be usin the Cup finals instead of the nights.
We want to perform better than thePanthers. For goodness, thanks go

(30:44):
Corock on pocket job. Where wasPiper? What did he get an Emmy
too? I kept looking for RossFletcher. I don't know if he did,
but where's his? Alison got one? Alison got one? Did Piper
get one? I mean I sawAlison got one, but I don't know
I did everybody else get one?Maybe Allison's won. It's kind of a

(31:04):
for everyone. We're good? Thatwas it? All right? Good voice?
But was gonna hear from old Ross? Yeah? I've missed Ross.
One of the better parts of acracking season was watching Ross Fletcher with what
Eddie old check? Yeah. Tweeton the Day. I always forget to

USC UCLA going to the Big Houseto take on Michigan. The Cornhuskers coming
to the Rose Bowl to face UCLA. The Badgers coming to La Call see
him to face the USC. Uscwill have to travel to Penn State,

(32:14):

anyone like it? I think anybodydoes? I don't. No one does.
It's just odd and it looks terribleand it's not insane. All right.
We have an update on tweeter today. You can send us a
tweet throughout Twitter just anywhere. Wescrambled for stories. We look for an
interesting thing. Jason Pucket twenty atkoons go sekid two zero six Ey,

(32:37):
we did this see a few weeksago the Tory telling you the story of
the Hornell High School. They losta playoff game or championship game in New
York because the catcher dropped the ballon a third strike. He thinks that
maybe he tagged the runner, butthe umpstead didn't call him out and anyways
he didn't throw down. They lostagain. Guy, they come around this
court and we told you about thatthat story. Well, I would do

(33:00):
of an update from the Yes Networkas they sat down with Joe Flint,
who was the head coach at HornellHigh School. They're in Upper New York.
Look on VPTV and you may haveseen this viral clip. Recently,
Hornell High School with up Stay,New York, losing a championship game May
twenty seventh, after its team begancelebrating what seemed to be a game ending

(33:23):
strikeout. The catcher Jake Ponticello appearedto tag the batter after a drop third
strike and then put the ball inhis pocket, but the whole plate umpire
never signaled four an out to theplay continued. Two runners on base scored
to give the win to Palmyra MassidenHigh School. Jose Trevino saw the clip
reached out to the Hornell squad. Here's head coach Jill Flint on what that

(33:45):
conversation was like, called and talkedto the senior boys. He called them
today to arrange the phone call andhe talked for them. He talked to
them for thirty five minutes and thenhe said at the end he gave his
number and said call me if youyou want to talk. And then after

(34:07):
he did that, he said andanother thing. He said, I'm inviting
all you guys in the room todayand a few more or whatever. He
said, I'm inviting you to aYankee game and a VIP section and he
said, you're gonna meet the restof the guy. There's a Jose Trevino
Marinsketcher Yankees. Catcher saw that cliplike a lot of people did, and

(34:28):
reached out to that young man andthat team. And now I was just
what a great gesture on his part, because I mean, you just we
imagine what that young man is goingthrough and having to deal with, you
know, what that play and thisclimate and how people can be cruel and
mean and just ast whether or notthey're people being mean and cruel to him.
I mean, it's he's devastated whathappened. And good on Jose Trevino,

(34:53):
Good on the Yankees and all ofthat. Such a great thing that
athletes and people and those positions. Can you know, two kids, because
they have such a you know, they're heroes to them. Got d you
gotta do whatever you can to supportthat kid. And in his heart of
hearts, he probably thought, okay, I did tag the runner, but
the umpire didn't see it. Andso I just hope that he's going to

(35:15):
be able to realize that the teamwouldn't have been there without what he had
done to that point, either thatday or in the season that preceded it.
But good on Jose Trevino. It'sawesome. Oh yeah, awesome that
he did that. Awesome that hereached down. Awesome that he gave his
phone number. Call me anytime ifif you need anything here to talk because
he probably doesn't need somebody to talkto you. It'd be great to hear
from a professional, you know, baseball player and catcher, oh without questions.

(35:38):
So there, there's an update thereon our tweet of the day.
Coming up next, Mike Garafoe,All Things NFL. It's brought to you
