(00:00):
It's the bow in the after showdecompression session. Oh they are old there,
I said, I hear ale,but I don't see them nowhere.
I'll be sneaky. You being stealthyis what you're healthy. That's not playing
too much call of duty. Itwas so exciting to meet Ali Sadig.
I know you Bo and Jim andRandy were great friends with him over the

(00:23):
years. But I've been a fanfor such a long time. He's an
incredible story. But he spent likesix years in prison. Yeah, for
cocaine, got a little bit oftrouble. I should have got him to
tell that Mexicans wearing steel toad boots. Story was that in prison? Yes,
it was. Is that how theylike defended themselves in prison? That
means they were fixing to start someshows. Oh yeah, when they're wearing

(00:46):
steel toad boots. So Ali knewto stay away. You would think that
after spending six years in prison, that he would not want to live in
a gated community in Justn area.Yeah. Last time he was here,
said I don't want another gate shutand behind me, well it's Houston.
So you know he was so downto earth, wasn't he? Ao Oh

(01:06):
yeah, he was really great. And he walked in and the first thing
he did was just put his handright out and shook my hand. They
didn't need nothing. I was like, coffee, water bottle, you want
to hang out in my office? No, we're all good. We even
had hot dogs for him. Theydidn't even want those. Yeah, they
didn't want no food. I spelleda letter in his name wrong, and
they didn't care. They were reallynice and very funny. Yeah, I

(01:30):
think I'm gonna go see him.You want to tag along, I think
I'll tag along with you both.Look at you, two wild animals.
I'm happy for you. We'll figureout which show we're going to go to
because we don't have forget I'm onMonday. You'll let me know, Just
text me and let me know which. I'll tag along because, yeah,
you're right, we don't have towake up early on Monday. So and

(01:51):
in morning show language, that meanswe sleep until like seven am. Yeah,
it's a big wheel all the waytill seven am. The dog will
wake me up at three or twoforty. Yeah, it never fails.
So your dog doesn't wake you up? Boat, No, I'm I'm gone.
Are you not in charge of takingthe dogs out when you wake up.
Is that something that Deborah. Idon't have time, Deborah does that?

(02:13):
Yeah? Really, I mean Iget up way too early that nobody
wants to get The dogs are stillasleep, Yeah they are. And with
as early as you get up,you walk those dogs first thing in the
morning, don't you. I justhave one. Yeah, yeah, I
don't have to walk, but Jasper, Yeah, let him do his business.
Oh he don't do it on you, rug. Yeah, yeah,
mine have to wait until I gethome in the afternoon, like twelve twelve

(02:36):
thirty. We're out walking and it'sbeen really, really nice. The weather
has been super nice. Yeah. And we live right on the shore of
Lake Lewisville up in the Oak Pointarea, and the water levels have been
going up from this rain, soit's just absolutely beautiful out there right now.
It's really nice. Oak Point.Where is that? Oak Point is
just on the other side of LittleElm on the way to Denton, So

(03:00):
across the bridge. Yeah, okay, yeah, just across that bridge in
downtown Little Elmore. I think SteveHarvey used to have a house, right
he did. I think he stilldoes. Yeah, I think you could
see it from the overpass. Soone person told me that he actually has
donated it to a kid's charity orsomething. Always Home. Yeah, that's
the rumor I heard, kind oflike Matthew Perry, he donated his house

(03:21):
in Malibu and turned it into asober living home. So and then he
moved and the house that he wentto is the one where he passed away
Malibu real estate, not changing asober living place. Yeah, how about
that. Wonder what that's like,Malibu. Yeah, a biography. You

(03:44):
know, I've had conversations over theyears because of my job as the public
affairs director and dealing with you know, nonprofits, and when you're talking to
people that are in the recovery industry, they'll tell you, you know,
some people can drink and it's nota problem. Some people can smoke pot,
do drugs, not a problem thatyou know, if they want to
give it up, no problem. And other people it's the brain chemistry.

(04:08):
And they're doing so much more researchand finding out that the brain chemistry that
there is a genetic link between peoplethat are alcoholics or drug addicts. Addiction.
Yeah, it's, you know,an addictive personality, but it's more
than your personality. It is brainchemistry. I knew a guy whose dad,

(04:30):
when he woke up, would startdrinking whiskey. Oh yeah, and
he would totally function throughout. Iguess I wouldn't with him the whole time.
He had a coworker like to startdrinking as soon as you get up.
I can't see you get your toleranceup. And if you don't drink,
when your tolerance is way high withaddiction, you feel sick, and
you take a few drinks and youjust feel normal. You don't feel drunk.

(04:53):
That's what I am. I'll evensay that that detox from alcohol is
worse than drugs. Wow. Insome cases, you know, or you
must really have you must really haveto pickle your brain to have that happen.
Oh yeah. It's just so sad, and it impacts so many families.
And I don't think I've met anybodythat hasn't been impacted by alcohol or

(05:14):
drug abuse. My father functioning alcoholicpretty much all of his life. I
think when he went into the Navyin World War Two is when he got
introduced to it pretty young age.And in the end it was him ruining
his esophagus that took his life. And took his life very slowly, like
he was bedridden for almost three years. Oh man, Yeah, because his

(05:35):
esophagus stopped working. You know, that's a really rough way to go for
sure. Let's see who's on thephone here, all right? Yeah,
nobody dial tone. That's a goodsign for me as your producer. That
means there's no audio problems and everything'sgoing good. I don't know. I'm
not checking a Facebook. I'm watchinghim. I'm wearing my broken glasses so

(05:59):
I can see the comments when Ifilm. You guys, now, are
those prescription or did you just know? I have a whole handful of glasses
that are busted the same way asthe CAAs thirty three dollars over the counter
one point fives from uh from CBStelling you go to home depot. I'm
going. I'm going this weekend.I think they haven like five six,
seven dollars. Yeah, yeah, especially if you lose them or you break

(06:21):
them all the time, it's bestto get find them cheap. I'm gonna
pay again. I'm gonna pay again. Man. This is gonna be like
the fourth or fifth pair in thelast couple of months, and I got
to Unless you look closely. Youcan't tell. You can't tell that your
glasses are broken. Oh good,Okay, well here's what happens. I'm
gonna demonstrate too. Flipped the cameraaround with one arm missing. It's real

(06:46):
easy to not know that your glassesare actually sitting on your head like this.
Yeah, so you know, peopleare like, what a quack that
new guy is? But have youhave you taken your glasses and going like
that and see how the vision goes? Whoa, oh yeah and get headaches?
Hello, boing them show. Iwas gonna call yous up and wish

(07:08):
is all a happy Thanksgiving and hopeeverybody has fun with their families and their
friends. And I'm listening to thisaddiction you doing, and I'm like,
can I find a raisablade to cutmy wrists? Oh? Stop it now
we're talking about what we want,I guess, so knock yourselves out.

(07:30):
It's the after show decomplex. However, you yeah, reventing getting it out.
You know. I just wanted tosay, have a great holiday,
have a great vacation, and we'llsee you's on the other side. You
got it, Matt, you too. We'll be touching base with you over
the over the holidays, though,Matt, just to check and make sure
you're doing okay. Well, Ithank you for that, Ada. I

(07:54):
just now left my surgeon's office andI got my release to work, no
restriction. Oh hey, guys, see, it just takes a little while.
You got to heal up, letyour body go through its motions.
I still feel like hammade shit, but at least as fuck you'll feel better
later. I mean, what,it hadn't even really been a month?
Has it exactly a month to theday. Well, give it two more

(08:18):
months and then you'll feel a lotbetter than you thought you would. Alrighty,
doc, I appreciate that. Sure, let me put my medical licensett.
Where are you spending Thanksgiving? Areyou staying at home, staying close
to home? Or you had thatover to friend's house. I have got
the best friends in the world atand they know I don't have any family

(08:41):
down here, and they know.So I've got four women that work in
the office with me at City Hallup here in Lavon that every Thanksgiving they
bring me a pleat Oh cool, and yeah, so so I'm I'm And
these are all good old country southerngirls that know how to cook. Oh

(09:01):
yeah. So I'm just I'm justgonna sit back and wait for them to
come to the with my plate andwatch football. Bring the groceries, all
right, man, you got it. We'll talk to you next time.
Guys, have a wonderful holiday ortalculator. Alright, man, there he
goes, There goes Matt. Thatwas good news. Recovering Yeah, slowly,

(09:22):
but surely, And I guess that'sthe only way to go. You've
got to just be patient and letit micro. You can't hurry love,
and you can't hurry healing. Wisdomwith God mind was fourteen years ago.
Wow, look at you now.Would you say that you're in the best
shape now then prior to your hearts? Because I mean you still like ride

(09:46):
your bike? What two times threetimes a week? No? Just usually
just once or twice. In fact, I was thinking about going today or
tomorrow because no wind, no tempertureis going to be in the mid sixties.
Yeah. Perfect. I like todrive to other places and then ride,
and then ride because I just thoughtit in the back of my trunk.

(10:07):
I don't know where I'm gonna go, but I'll figure something out.
A lot of times you go overto deep Elm Fair Park area. But
yeah, I do that a coupleof times. You've been out to Fort
Worth. I was thinking about FortWorth? Actually, yeah, I was
thinking about going to Fort Worth becauseyou can start at Trinity Park and ride
the trails and you can get allthe way down to the stockyards and then
just get out, have a mealat the stockyards and ride back. You

(10:30):
should go over to the shops atclear Fork and do that trail that they
have there. What is clear ForkShops at clear Fork? It's kind of
like on the west side of FortWorth off the Chisholm Trail parkway, really
really nice area, but they've gotit's paved. That's where we did the
walk to end to Alzheimer's. Oh, okay, so you wouldn't know,

(10:50):
Well, no, I didn't.I didn't do the trail because it was
pouring rain and I'm a bus Youall try and ride your bike and have
the dog run along with you.No, I just go by myself.
Okay, I've always wanted to trythat, but I picture dog leashes getting
tangled up in the wheels of mybike. Well that who was it that
had a bad bike? Wrect wastalking to us. He said the dog

(11:11):
ran. Oh, it was PaulRodgers. Really Paul Roger. When we
were talking about how Paul Rodgers armwas in the sling one time, and
he said he was riding his bikeand the dog was running beside him,
and the dog ran in front ofhim and knocked him over and broke his
collar. Ball out. Hey,that's a good question there to answer.
A lot of people since I cameon the show have been jumping in and

(11:35):
going, hey, O, doyou ride a motorcycle? Yeah? Because
of Randy, all the the charityrides that Randy did, and the more
that I read more I see inthe comments from our fans, I think
it's more concern are we going tokeep doing bike nights. It's not so
much as is hey, your motorcyclerider? But you know we don't want
to lose bike Nights. So yeah, I reply to everybody. I let
him know I'm interested in continuing tohost those and actually co hosted a few

(12:01):
of them last year with Randy behindthe scenes. Well, it's pretty events,
so that's gonna happen. But yeah, I did ride bikes and horses
when I was very young and haven'treally had much of a chance to do
it yet. But if somebody wereto come forward, like Stephanie and Harley
or something like that and go,hey, o let's put you through a
rider course, man, I jumpall over that. Cool? I would,

(12:22):
man. You could you know, conventionally host bike night whenever it comes
up? Yeah, yeah, andwe have we have no desire to see
bike night stop. Those are thingsthat are very very successful for Lone Star
and Mascules that go to those bikenights. They're amazing, sweetest people.
Yeah. Whenever we've been out toAmerican Eagle Harley there in Corinth they just

(12:45):
treat us, right, don't theyboth? Oh yeah, I mean they
just roll out the red carpet.Yes, there's always free beer at their
events. Oh you know what, next year, you'll get to do your
first blood drive actually behind the scenes. Oh that's right. Yeah last year
I was. But as fair asas far being on the air with you
guys, yeah, I'm looking forwardto that. Speaking of blood drive,
right now, they have a desperateneed Carter Blood Care and the American Red

(13:07):
Cross for oh negative, so thoseuniversal blood types. So if you are
so willing to give blood, pleasedo so during the holiday series. Yeah,
that's a nice thing. To dofor the holiday season, for sure.
Yeah. I rode bikes when Iwas thirteen fourteen years old. I
was riding dirt bikes in southern Arizonawhere I lived, and I got out
of control on one and I slammedmy right foot peg into the corner of

(13:31):
a basketball fence out and my rightbaby toe hides underneath all my other toes.
No, damn, but I ain'tscared to climb back on a horse,
even though it's been thirty years,And I ain't scared to climb back
on a motorcycle. Now. Ilove horse riding. I just hadn't done
it in a while. It's justlike fishing. I just hadn't gone fishing
in a while. You come outmy way if you want to catch some
fish. Like I said, I'mright on the shore. You don't have

(13:52):
to worry about a thing. Igot the gear, I got the fishing
kayaks. We got the dogs tobark at you if you don't catch anything,
dogs to attack you if you comein empty hand. Dad, he's
got a bad cast. You gottabed show him how to cast. Dad.
We can do that. Well.If I'm just thinking to everything is
just kind of whatever. Because wegot a whole week off. Yeah,

(14:13):
and believe me, we need it. And this time I don't have to
have some stupid fucking medical procedures,so you can enjoy I can enjoy.
No a fips. I'll be around. I'm helping JEFFK cover afternoons again today
while he's out of town, andthen next week I'm going to cover middays
for Miss deb so she can takea break. But it's a really light
workload for me too next week andI'm looking forward to the rest. I'm

(14:35):
sure. Well, everybody happy Thanksgivingpiece. Yeah, I love you guys,
and we'll see you on the twentyseven Cyber Monday burb Coday. All
right, we'll see you. Havea good one bye,
