The Morning Breeze. Morning Breeze onDemand six zero nine on the Bays,
Number one for relaxing favorites for yourmorning, ninety eight point one The Breeze
A Morning Breeze, Carolin McCardell,Court Johnson, Good morning, Court Johnson,
Good morning Carolyn. So this morningI woke up to this whole situation
with Bart. Did you see thison the news? Yes, I saw
(00:23):
a little bit about it the ScaryTimes it sounds like. Yeah. So
last night, I guess there wasa BART train at the Lake Merritt station,
or near the Lake Merritt station. It was headed to Daily City.
A truck on East eighth Street inOakland somehow made its way up onto the
tracks. BART train, which washeaded for Daily City, hit the truck.
Forty five people on board. Theconductor or the operator of the BART
(00:46):
train obviously taken to the hospital. That's who was impacted first, and then
I guess one other passenger. Everybodyelse appears to be okay. But obviously
this knock BART service out overnight lastnight and into the early morning. But
the train tracks have been repaired, the train has been hauled away, and
(01:07):
so in the fence that the truckcrashed through was repaired, So I guess
we're back up and running on Bart. But that is crazy. The odds
of that happening are just so rare. Yeah, it sounds like this would
be something that would be hard.It wouldn't be hard to have happen.
Oh yeah, it's like a oneYeah, it would be hard. It
would be almost impossible for this tohappen. I know what you're saying,
(01:29):
better way, Yeah, it's likea one off. Yeah, but I
can't imagine. I was watching thenews this morning and listening to the passengers
talk about what that experience was likefor them on the train, right,
and how you know they saw sparksand then they felt a jolt on the
train. Well, if you're inthe tenth car, you're barely going to
feel it, But if you're inthat first car, sure it's going to
rock your world. So I thinkof all the times I've been writing on
(01:51):
Bart and just oblivious to everything goingon, and then suddenly slowing down,
probably the way this train had to. Can't even imagine. Yeah, I
can't imagine. I mean he couldn'the couldn't even stop the train. It
ended up hitting the truck, sowe're glad. For the most part,
it sounds like everyone's okay. Wehope the train operator is okay, and
if anything new happens with the story, we'll bring it to you this morning.
(02:13):
But so far, it looks likeBarta's back up and running. And
I just check before we came onthe air and it said all the trains
are on time, so that's agood thing. We are at eight seven
seven nine eight one h nine eightone and coming up this morning eight twenty
five. We're going to do itagain today and for the rest of the
week. Air supply tickets, Yeah, they're gonna be in town next week
May twenty fifth at the Mountain Wineryin Saratoga, So at eight twenty five
(02:35):
and other chance to win those ticketshere on the Breeze, And now we'll
look at today's local forecast. Thatis Blondie on the Bays number one for
relaxing favorites for your morning ninety eightpoint one The Breeze and Morning Breeze Carolyn
McCardell Court Johnson, six twenty eight. There is a scam that we want
to warn you about this morning that'shappening based out of San Francisco, and
(02:58):
this is one of those scams thatlike hurts my heart, So I really
want to get this out to themasses. This involves San Francisco Animal Control.
They were sort of the victims,as are the people that are falling
for the scam. So for peoplethat in San Francisco that have lost their
pets, like physically lost them, they're not out or they're missing. Yeah,
there is the scam going around wheresomeone is preying upon these people where
(03:23):
when they find out that you've losta pet, they have found a way
to call the people that have losttheir pets from a number that is the
San Francisco Animal Care and Control number, right, So what will happen is
they will call and say, wehave your pet where with San Francisco Animal
Care and Control. You see thenumber on your phone. We need payment
and then you can come on downand get your pet. The red flag
(03:45):
in this is they're also saying usea cash app or send us a gift
card, right, which is thebig red flag. That's the big red
flag. So San Francisco Animal Careand Control is really trying to get this
out there to let you know thescam is happening. You're already in a
vote ulnerable place when you lose yourpet and your peto's missing, so don't
fall for it. And they're saying, of course, we would never ask
for a payment over the phone, and certainly never ask you for gift cards
(04:09):
gift cards. Yeah, the spoofingthe number thing, obviously, that's what
makes it seem legit. Yeah, and probably on your color idea, it
comes up as them as well.I know, when you get emails,
they can spoof emails. You canhover over those, typically with don't click
on them, but you can hoverover them, and typically that's where you
see the real URL and it's somethingreally funky. Yeah, but a phone
number, that's that's harder to tell. So they're just these scammers are so
(04:32):
crafty these days, and something likethis when you're already in such a weak
spot because your pet is missing.I mean, I could see how anybody
sure would fall I might yeah aswell. Yeah, No, they're they're
preying on our emotions, on ourhearts. Yeah. So we're gonna put
more on this on the Morning Breezepage ninety eight one, the Breeze dot
com. You can get to thatthrough our Facebook page at ninety eight one

(08:28):
favorites for your morning, Carolin mccartell, Court Johnson. So, Carolyn,
I got a question for you.Have you ever heard of something called in
everything shower and everything shower? No, I immediately think of everything but the
bagel or everything bagel or everything. No, what's in everything? We're not
We're not talking about little bits ofsesame seed and garlic, no seasonings.
(08:48):
Apparently gen Z has this thing calledand everything shower. It's an extremely warm
or hot shower Okay, steamy, they do, but they do it for
hours, like two to four hoursat a time in the shower for the
shower hours. Yeah, this can'tbe California. Well, I know,
I know a lot of people likedon't take showers for that long, but
(09:11):
it's it's kind of you know,it's a worldwide phenomenon. In fact,
on TikTok. The hashtag everything showerhas racked up more than one hundred and
sixty eight million views. What areyou doing in there for two to four
hours besides wasting a tremendous amount ofamount of water, said the old grumpy
lady. Right, so that's thepart where the everything comes from. You're
you're basically you're soaping up every nookand cranny, wow, washing your hair,
(09:35):
sure, just taking your time. And the other part is you're blasting
music as you do it. Thisseems like such a bad idea. Yeah.
Here's the thing though, I heardabout this and I'm like, oh,
wait a minute. Sloan, myfifteen year old teas she doesn't take
hours long showers, but she doestake really long showers. And I actually
realized this over the weekend my familywas down visiting. We went from like
(09:58):
having multiple bathrooms in the house tojust one in the apartment. Yeah,
and so she would go in forthe shower and all of us were like,
oh, okay, when Sloan's cloggingit up. Yeah, she's in
there hugging up the line, soapingup everything and blasting Taylor Swift. Oh
gee. That's the other part isyou blast music while you do it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, everythingshower. I am so irritated by this
(10:18):
on so many levels. Yeah, this is why I don't have kids.
I would I don't know how Iwould handle this. Yeah, I would
probably guess that parents out there areprobably seeing a little bit of this.
And again, I don't know ifI don't think Sloan isn't necessarily following a
trend. I don't think she sawthis, and it's just she's just being
Sloan, right, She's got aroutine. How do you handle this as
a parent, Like, what doyou do? Do you just let it
(10:39):
happen or do you just you know? Or do you say, Sloan,
you got to take shorter showers. You can't be in there for hours on
end. I'm always saying that, just because you know, we've got their
dad. Yeah, the thermostat takeshorter showers. I will wonder if any
of our listeners do you have kidsthat are doing this, that are taking
these longer showers. I mean thirtyminutes tops. That seems too long.
(11:01):
So two to four hours seems justout of the question. Way too long,
Yeah, way too long. Butif you have this happening in your
house. How are you handling it? We'd love to hear from you at
eight seven to seven nine eight oneh nine eight one and coming up at
eight twenty five this morning on theMorning Breeze. Another chance at those air
supply concert tickets there in town nextThursday, May twenty fifth, Mountain Winery
(11:22):
in Saratoga, eight twenty five yearchance to win in here on the Breeze
seven thirty eight on the Morning Breezethe Bays Number one for relaxing favorites for
your morning. It's the Morning Breezewith Carolyne McCardell and Court Johnson. A
few minutes ago we were talking aboutwell, Court brought this to our attention,
this new everything shower trend, yes, called the everything shower, where
(11:46):
essentially kids are getting in the showerfor two to four hours, spending so
much time. This just doesn't Ican't even process. This never would have
flown in my house right as akid. Yeah, but this is what
kids are doing and it's trending onsocial media. Eight seven seven nine eight
one h nine eight one. Victoriain Pleasant Hill, you have actually the
opposite of the everything shower happening. What's going on. I'm good. I'm
(12:09):
listening to you guys, life.Man, I love you guys. Go
back to the buckets era. That'swhat I do with my seventeen year old
that does that. You go backto the bucket era. Do you mean
the bucket in the shower situation?Yep. I give him a bucket,
we'll put it in the shower. You fill it up, and that's it,
and I time it. You arelocked in. You're locked in.
(12:33):
I have to because when you seethat bill coming two hundred dollars three hundred,
but just water bill, that's alost ye. Yeah, so I
have to go to bucket. That'swhy I don't understand how people are getting
away with two or four hour showers. Look at you with a bucket and
your timing it. Parents need totake charge at this point because we are
the one thing in the building.Yeah, that's a good point, Mama.
(12:56):
