Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Morning Breeze, The Morning Breeze on Demand.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
It's Kim Carnes and it is six oh seven. Good morning,
Welcome to the Morning Breeze. It's Carolyn and Court. It's
May sixth, twenty twenty five. And Carolyn, because it is
a Tuesday of the first full week in May. Yes,
everybody knows what this means. It is National Teacher Appreciation Day.
Oh I love this when it happens. I have had

(00:28):
so many great teachers. Yeah, haven't you? Oh so many.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
You just think back to all of your teachers.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
Oh see, I refer to mine as my mount Rushmore
are great teachers. That's sweet, because there's four that really
stand out. Okay, mister Salmon, fifth grade teacher. Uh, Missus Allen,
my sixth grade teacher.

Speaker 4 (00:49):
Ye.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
Missus Harper, my fourth grade teacher. She could split an
apple with her hands.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
WHOA, I'll bet her class was in line. Nobody messed
with her. No, not at all, Harper. The teacher that
really you made people fall in line was Missus Craner,
who was my eleventh and twelfth grade French teacher in
high school.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
Oh, and you did not. She was short, small, teeny,
but you did not mess with Missus Crainer.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
She's a stick of dynamite.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
Oh yeah, ooh, she was great.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
Good ones too.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
I think my the one that stands out for me
is Missus Styles do I think it's now miss Styles Oka,
But she was my typing teacher in high school and
she was that cool teacher because we learned a lot
from her.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
Oh oh you should see me type core.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
You probably if you think of everything you learned, it
was those those typing teachers that probably were the most impactful.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
So good right, she was great, but she was also
so like down to earth. You felt like she was
your friend, but you still respected her as an adult
and as your teacher. Does that make sense.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
It's a balancing act that I think teachers have to watch.
They have to you know, get the job done, yes,
but also be somebody that kids can relate to and
a pre and want to go to class and see.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
That's how it was, you know, at the end of
the school year when you take a picture like your
yearbook signing, and then you go and you go to
your teachers and you're like, well, you've sign my yearbook.
My friend Holly and I got a picture with Missus
Styles and I still have that picture to this day
because we loved her so much. Fun fact, she listens
to our show. So good morning Becky Styles, good morning missus.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
But to all of our teachers and our Breeze audience,
because we know there are a lot of you, thank
you for what you do. Yeah, for sure, the impact
that you have you already know this, but it lasts
a lifetime. So to all of our teachers, cheers this morning,
and we're at eight seven seven nine, eight one oh.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
Nine eight one.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
Coming up this morning at eight twenty, we've got more
tickets to see Starship featuring Mickey Thomas. Now, this show
is happening this Friday. Yeah, so if you win, you
need to be available to go on Friday. Yep, make
sure your calendar is clear. It's happening Friday night at
the Rinda Theater in Orinda.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
Now where that're welcome.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
Okay, you're welcome, So be here at eight twenty for
your chance to win those tickets on the Breeze.

Speaker 3 (03:02):
And on the way, it's six twenty five. We've got
the Morning Breeze brain teas. Okay, sixty percent of people
say this is something that has never happened to them.
But twenty five percent of people say, this has happened
to me multiple times.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Oh, never happened to them.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
Yeah, sixty percent again, sixty percent, never happened. Twenty five percent,
this has happened, and it has happened a few times.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
Oh my gosh. Okay, let's see what people think. Eight
seven seven nine, eight one oh nine eight one. We've
got the Morning Breeze brain Teas. We're gonna play with
you coming up, six twenty five.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
Louise Pleawood Mack at six twenty four. Here on ninety
eight point one the Breeze. You've got the Morning Breeze
with Carolyn and Court and time now for the Morning
Breeze brain Teas. Your chance to show off a little bit. Yes,
please show off.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
And be okay with it. This is definitely your time
to shine, exactly right. It's sponsored by Mike Council Plumbing.
You're in clean hands with Mike Council Plumbing. Visit them
at mc plumbing dot com. So sixty percent of people
say this is something that has never happened to them,
but twenty five percent of people say this has happened
to me. In fact, it has happened multiple times. All
right eight seven, seven, nine, eight one oh nine to eight.

(04:12):
One is how you reach us with your guesses. Candace
in Livermore, you are up first this morning.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
What do you think, Peter pants? Did you just say
Peter pants?

Speaker 5 (04:24):
That's my nurse brain working.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
My nurse brain working.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
Is that how nurses think?

Speaker 1 (04:29):
I think they might? Is that the answer?

Speaker 3 (04:32):
That is not the correct answer.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
Okay, Candace, Well, thank you for playing. That was entertaining
this morning.

Speaker 6 (04:39):
All right, then, thank you so much day.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
Thank you too, by Candace. I'm still stuck on that
happening multiple times. All Right, we're going to Jay and
El Sirito. What's your guess?

Speaker 4 (04:50):
How about divorce?

Speaker 3 (04:51):
Divorce?

Speaker 1 (04:52):
Ooh ooh, okay, this is hitting close to home.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
Jay. I'm on my second marriage, so sometimes divorce is
a good thing.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
Yes it is, Jay, Yes it is. This has been
very I has been. But that's not the right answer, Jay, Okay,
I like the answer, but.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
It's not the fact one. Here's the answer. Sixty percent
of people say they have never had packages stolen from
their porches from porch pirates, but twenty five percent of
people say it happens to me all the time.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
Well, that's a lot different than divorce. Wow, which would
you wrapt corse or a porch pirate?

Speaker 4 (05:25):
It depends how much time your wife spends on Amazon.

Speaker 3 (05:29):
One might lead to the other.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
Because I guarantee fifteen percent of the times of a
husband steal in a package.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
I don't know what happened to this stuff. It so good, guys.

Speaker 4 (05:43):
You guys have a good day.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
You too.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
By Jay.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
It's the Morning Breeze Brain Teas, and we do it
every weekday morning at six twenty five Here on the
Morning Breeze.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
Coming up this morning at six forty something happened to
me over the weekend, Court that I was actually speechless.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
When this happened.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
Yeah, and I handled it in a certain way. But
I'm wondering how you would have handled this situation. Are
you actually asking for my advice? I just want to
know how you would have handed Okay, yes, of course,
so we'll talk about it. I'll tell you what happened
and see what you think. At six forty here on
the Breeze.

Speaker 3 (06:19):
This music from Lionel Richie. At six forty one ninety
eight point one the Breeze, You've got the Morning Breeze
with Carolyn and.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
Court and a reminder if you did not hear us
yesterday mention this ask us anything, which we usually do
at six forty every morning, we moved that to seven
twenty five here on the morning Breeze. So Court, a
couple of minutes ago, I said to you that I
wanted to know your advice.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
Well, I kind of inserted myself into the advice column.
But you've got a story to tell, and we're wondering
if I would have handled it differently.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
Yes, okay, okay.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
So over the weekend, I was at the Giants game
and I saw some friends of mine that I literally
have not seen in probably thirty years, and I was
so excited to meet them. So we meet up and
I said to them at one point, you guys look
exactly the same.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
You have not changed a bit. You look great. And
then that was it. They were silence.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
You weren't expecting them to say you too, Carolyn, exactly
happy one of them too.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
I mean, it's the right thing to do.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
And then I instantly started critiquing myself in like it
was an awkward silence, and I thought, did they see me?
And they both at the same time thought wow, wow.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
Wow, No, what is it? What is it?

Speaker 3 (07:45):
Of course, I was actually thinking about this just the
the other day as well, Like when I think of
my friends in high school and then I see them today,
in my mind, they look just the same to me.
Me too, even though if you think about it, they're like, Okay,
it's now thirty thirty plus years later, yeah, well aged,
they definitely have aged. Yeah, but in your mind, for

(08:06):
some reason, you don't see that aging.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (08:09):
So for you, you were just kind of acknowledging kind
of where your brain has been. It's like, you guys
look exactly the same.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
No, I think they These two actually do look the
same to me, although I think maybe if you took
a side by side photo thirty years ago and now,
like I do with my high school friends, like you
were just saying with your high school friends, it would
be obvious. Then I kind of see it. But when
I see people that I haven't seen a while, whoa.
But the fact of the matter is they didn't say
a darn thing back to me. And that's that's where

(08:37):
I'm a little bit hung up.

Speaker 3 (08:39):
I would don't get hung up about that. I don't
think there was any disrespect made.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
It was so odd.

Speaker 3 (08:46):
This should we should call them?

Speaker 1 (08:48):
No, Oh my gosh, should we Oh no, I can't
do it and just.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
Can't imagine we call them and then you say, hey,
So you remember end of the.

Speaker 3 (08:58):
Day when Carolyn said that you guys look exactly like
you used to. What do you think about Carolyn?

Speaker 2 (09:04):
Yeah, you didn't say anything back, and we're calling to
find out what you thought. Yeah, that'll make me feel better. Sure, anyway,
what would you I mean, would you have done anything
in that situation?

Speaker 1 (09:12):
You just would have rolled with it?

Speaker 3 (09:12):
Right now? You just go with it and don't think
anything of it. I don't think there was any flight
meant maybe all right.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
We're at eight seven seven nine, eight, one oh nine
eight when you can always catch us on social media
at ninety at one of the Breeze or send us a.

Speaker 1 (09:29):

Speaker 2 (09:42):

done that is so fantastic.

Speaker 5 (10:29):
I got my luctures baby, very.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
Nice way to go, Sue. That's awesome.

Speaker 5 (10:34):
So it's an NX three fifty f sport and it's
some kind of an orange metallic and the.

Speaker 4 (10:40):
Metallic it's so metallity, and it's sunlight. This thing just
collisions like startup.

Speaker 1 (10:46):
Wow, that's so cool.

Speaker 4 (10:49):
I bought one that was slightly used. Yeah, it only
has like twenty thousand original miles on it.

Speaker 6 (10:54):
It was a leak.

Speaker 5 (10:56):
I'm so excited.

Speaker 4 (10:57):
Congratulations it has a well town manual.

Speaker 3 (11:01):
Oo. Wow, why does they even print those anymore?

Speaker 2 (11:05):
Because you can just google it, Sue, how much of
that are you going to read that manual?

Speaker 5 (11:11):
I don't know. I gave it to my husband told
him to read it.

Speaker 1 (11:13):
There you go, so none, there you go. Answer is none.

Speaker 5 (11:19):
So here's the funny.

Speaker 4 (11:20):
Story about it.

Speaker 5 (11:20):
There's a car place across the street.

Speaker 4 (11:22):
From where I work, and they had pulled this out
on the street and I thought it was coming off
the car carrier, but it was actually leaving. This is
a car that was turned in for another, a newer
car right when I went over to take a look
at it, because the color just popped in my eyes
and I went and looked at it, and if you know,
the guy grabs the keys and puts it on the carrier.

Speaker 5 (11:42):
And go wait, wait, wait, where are you going with
that car? And he goes, it's going to conquered. I
called the guy two days later. I says, I know,
you guys just got a.

Speaker 4 (11:49):
New car on the lot.

Speaker 5 (11:50):
It's a really pretty orange.

Speaker 4 (11:52):
Metallice and he goes, how did you even know we
have that car?

Speaker 5 (11:55):
It's not even on the lot yet.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
So then you obviously drove over conquered and got that car.
That is so neat. Yeah, I was gonna that's exactly
what I was gonna say. New cars are so much fun.

Speaker 4 (12:07):
Yeah, I'm trying to figure out all the buttons and things.

Speaker 2 (12:10):
Yeah, what's your favorite what's your favorite thing about getting
a new car?

Speaker 1 (12:14):
Like, what do you love the most?

Speaker 5 (12:15):
Gets all the new gadgets, because you know, there's so
many new things that come out every time there's a
new car, and I only get one about every three
to four years, so you know, just the new upgrades
and all the fancy stuff.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
Yeah, no, I love that too.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
Well, congrats on the car, it's awesome, huge and have
a good.

Speaker 1 (12:32):
Day, all right, have a great day, And if you've.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
Got a brighter side for us eight seven seven nine
eight one, nine eight one.

Speaker 3 (12:40):
Coming up this morning at eight twenty, we've got your
chance to see Starship featuring Mickey Thomas this Friday night
in Arnda.

Speaker 2 (12:47):
Yes, it's the beautiful Arenda Theater, So be here at
a twenty for your chance to win those tickets on
the Breeze.

Speaker 3 (12:53):
Seven twenty six. John Lennon here on ninety eight point

and right now it is time for you to ask
us anything. This is a chance for you to literally
call the Morning Breeze and ask us anything.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
Yes, we have had so much fun with us. We've
been doing this for a while. We recently moved it
to seven twenty five. We used to do it at
six forty. And the questions that we get are so
much fun from you guys, so keep them coming.

Speaker 3 (13:19):
Yeah. They can be about anything you hear us talking
about already, or if just something pops in your mind
and say, I wonder what Carolyn and Court think about. Yes,
that's what you can call us with. Eight seven seven nine,
eight one, nine eight one.

Good morning, Good morning.

Speaker 6 (13:37):
So what iconic buildings do you see that are other
businesses but you know that they were something else before.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
Oh yeah, My two favorites.

Speaker 6 (13:47):
Are Taco Bell and Kimmy Shoe Stores because all of
the buildings look to the safe. So you drive by
something and you go Oh, that used to be a
taco bell or that used to be a kimmy.

Speaker 1 (13:59):
So what is your talk about? What are your kinny shoes?

Speaker 4 (14:01):
Now?

Speaker 6 (14:01):
Kenny shoes are like auto parts stores or that kind
of thing. You know, the buildings all look they all
looked the same back then, right, Every taco bell had
the same look, and every store had the same look.
And there's a lot of others.

Speaker 3 (14:15):
Yeah, for me, it's dairy Queen's. I can always tell
when something used to be a dairy queen.

Speaker 2 (14:19):
Our A and W Roupier on Clayton Road and Conquered
still has like the roof adjacent to the building where
you used to like drive for the drive in is
now a Hounan cuisine. And then our old roller world
in Conquered is now a gym.

Speaker 1 (14:36):
Ah.

Speaker 2 (14:37):
So yeah, you're so right. That is such a trip. Yeah,
that's a great question, Gail.

Speaker 4 (14:42):
All right, have a good day by Yale.

Speaker 3 (14:45):
Another one, Carolyn, is the old Circuit City buildings. Oh
my gosh, remember that they had that weird they in
their logo is like a plug. Yeah, so they kind
of built that as the entryway into the old Circuit cities,
and those buildings still kind of have those little weird entryways.

Speaker 2 (15:00):
I missed Circuit City. When you go get your car
stereo installed. You thought you were the jam in high
school with all that base. Yes, whatever it's called now
exactly how I felt. It's these days. We're at eight
seven seven nine, eight one oh nine eight one. Ask
us anything. We do it every weekday morning here at

(15:21):
seven twenty five. You can always send us a message,
by the way, with our iHeartRadio app. We've had plenty
of people do that. That's a great way to get
us a message.

Speaker 3 (15:28):
Yes, please do that. Also stick around because coming up
this morning at eight twenty more tickets to see Starship
featuring Mickey Thomas this Friday night in Arinda.

Speaker 2 (15:37):
Yes, you do not want to miss this show. A
great venue and certainly a great group. So be here
at eight twenty for your chance to win those tickets
on the Breeze.

Speaker 3 (15:46):
It's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court and congratulations
you've just got tickets to see Starship featuring Mickey Thomas.
Oh man, that's fantastic, Thank you, super fantastic.

Speaker 5 (15:58):
I saw star Ship and Mickey Mick Thomas at Marin
Sayer years ago.

Speaker 4 (16:05):
It was really good and I'm looking forward to seeing
them again.

Speaker 1 (16:08):
Okay in a different venue. This is fun. Who are
