Speaker 2 (00:54):
It's an annual tradition of ours here on the Breeze.
We do it every hour on the hour, from six
in the morn morning till six at night. It is
our goal to try and take the stress out of
your holiday. So the next chance to win coming up
at seven here on the Breeze, and coming up next
here on the Morning Breeze.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
It's the Morning Breeze. Brain tease. Carolyn, all Right, what
do we have the average age of a person who
buys one of these is forty seven to fifty years old.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
All right, we're at eight seven, seven, nine, eight, one
oh ninety eight one. Call us with your guesses. The
Morning Breeze brain Tees coming up next at birth therez
they are no doubt it is don't speak six twenty two.
Good morning, Happy Monday to you, and thank you for
being here. It's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court.
Every weekday morning at this time we play the Morning

(01:39):
Breeze Brain Teas with you, and today is no different.
It's sponsored by Mike Counsel Plumbing. You're in clean hands
with my Counsel Plumbing. You can see them online at
mc plumbing dot com.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
Today's question, the average age of a person who buys
one of these is forty seven to fifty years old.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
All right, now, Cork gave me the answer just before
we came on the air because let it slip, well,
it was, you're being very nice. It's because I was
hounding you, like what is this one? Normally I will
not let you know. I know I kept guessing and
kept guessing, and I was getting it wrong. So let's
see if you can get it right. We're at eight
seven seven nine eight one oh nine eight one. It's
Hailey and Crocket. What do you think? The answer is car?

(02:20):
A car so close, Hailey to be like a sports car. Yeah,
you're having a life crisis. Man, I know you are.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
You're super close, as Carolyn mentioned, but it's not the
correct answer.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
All right, thanks for playing, Haley.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
All right, Thank you guys.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
You got it all right. Patty and Vale, Oh good morning.
What is your guest for the brain tease?

Speaker 1 (02:44):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (02:44):
Bicycle? I feel like that average age is about fourteen,
but they don't buy it. Their parents buy it. Their
parents buy it.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
Hey, but if you're like getting into like if you're
getting spiking and cyclic, Yeah, that's true. You can get
in those really expensive bikes thousands and thousands of dollars.
Great guess, and you are super close.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
How close?

Speaker 3 (03:07):
The average age of a person who buys a motorcycle
is forty seven to fifty years old.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
You were close, Patty, Oh.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
I get half of it.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
For a minute.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
You got it, Patty, I know I was so close.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
Well, fun, it was fun talking to you. Thank you
for calling and playing. That was great.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
Thank you so much. I listened to you guys every
day twenty four seven. You guys are great. Thank you
so much for what to do.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
That's so nice. Thank you. We really appreciate it. Make
it a good day, did so?

Speaker 3 (03:42):
Thank you?

Speaker 2 (03:43):
Okay, bye, Beatty. It's hard for me to fathom that
at forty seven somebody would want to buy it, Like, well,
I feel like you're over it by then.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
I know mine was I wanted to It wasn't really
a motorcycle. I really actually wanted like a Vespa scooter.
You did, yeah, went, But I was in my late twenties,
early thirties.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
Well and that was.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
But I think this does kind of correlate with the
midlife crisis quite a bit, as I alluded to, like yeah,
you know, yeah, you want you want to spice up
your life. You want that hair, cool person, you want
to be. Yeah, you want the wind to blow through
your hair. If you've got any at forty seven.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
If you have any keyword right there? All right, morning
breeze brain teas. We do it every weekday morning at
this time. And you probably heard a couple of minutes ago,
Karen and San Francisco picked up that first complete Thanksgiving
dinner as part of her annual tradition here on the
Breeze of trying to take the stress out of your holidays.
She's so excited. She's taken it to you know, go

(04:40):
to her family's house. So it's perfect. You can do
many things.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
Yeah, we're doing this every hour on the hour, so
we kicked it off at six am. It'll go through
six pm. So at the beginning of every hour, you're
just gonna want to listen for the queue to call yeah,
and then be color twenty.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
Yeah, that's all you have to do. So your next
chance to win obviously coming up seven o'clock here on
the Morning Breeze.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
Taylored in at six point forty here on ninety eight
point one the Breeze. You've got the Morning Breeze with
Carolyn and Corden. We've reached that special time of the
morning where we basically turn the show over to you.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
I love this time of morning. This is so fun.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
Yeah, to ask us anything. You call us with your
questions eight seven seven nine eight one nine eight one.
You can also DM them. You hop into whatever social
media you love the most. You can reach us that way.
You can also email us through the website ninety eight
one Thebreeze dot com.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
Well also take your questions through our iHeartRadio app. That
talkback microphone is a great way to reach out to us.
It was Dana over the weekend that slid into my DMS.
I love it. Dana listens in Redwood City. Thank you
so much. And this may have something to do with
the fact that today we've started, you know, our annual
tradition of giving away those complete Thanksgiving dinners. Day to ask,
what is something that's always part of your Thanksgiving menu?

Speaker 3 (05:51):
Great question.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
It's like, the one thing I'm assuming that you have
to have, is what Dana means.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
And so I would assume something like a turkey. Is
that's just a get given. Yeah, So aside from that,
in my family, it's got to be these buttered chiveed
carrots that my mother in law does.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
That sounds so good.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
Both of my daughters are upset if that doesn't show
up on the Thanksgiving table.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
Is it basically like butter with a side of carrot
and chives?

Speaker 3 (06:18):
Pretty much?

Speaker 2 (06:18):
Oh, it sounds so good.

Speaker 3 (06:20):
The amount of butter that goes into these carrots is
probably any doctor would be like, what are you doing.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
Yeah, what it's wrong with you guys? Yeah? So good?
Oh that sounds so what is it for you? Mine
is random. Mine's baked brown sugar and olive oil Brussels sprouts.
So you take breat It's super simple. You just take
Brussels sprouts, you throw them in a bowl, olive oil,
brown sugar, shake it or you could put it in
a bag, shake it up and you bake it for

(06:47):
twenty minutes at four hundred. They are even if you
don't like Brussels sprouts because so many people.

Speaker 3 (06:53):
Eh, well you know what, I have become a Brussels
sprout evangelist the last couple of years because go back
twenty years ago, like who liked Brussels sprouts? Yeah, nobody,
but they actually are different. But Brussels sprouts are different
Brussels sprouts now than they were twenty years ago.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
You mean how they grow them or they do.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
They were able to go in and like genetically modify
a couple of things and take some of the I
think they were oftentimes bitter. Yeah, that's that's gone. They
are not the same Brussels sprouts that they used to be.
And don't be scared of that. Genetically modified because.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
Yeah, that freaks me out a little bit.

Speaker 3 (07:26):
Everything's genetically modified a little bit. Cross breeding. Apples are different,
that's all. Bananas are different.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
Let's be honest, though, when you douse them in olive
oil and brown sugar, you're gonna like them.

Speaker 3 (07:38):
Like them.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
But I love this question. We put it on our
page this morning, our Facebook page at ninety eight one
of the Breeze, something that's always part of your Thanksgiving menu.
We've got everything on here from green bean casserole, cranberries
with spice, zen fandel sauce. And my favorite answer on
here is Cindy who put the wine emoji. She said
wine so I can deal with my family. Yeah, and

(08:00):
then put lol so she was kind of making fun.
But that is a great answer.

Speaker 3 (08:03):
Speaking of the green bean cast role, Ed wrote, green
bean cast role and black olives, and I would like
some clarification. Is this are these two separate things or
is there green olives with black olives with it?

Speaker 2 (08:16):
Yes, yeah, that's a good question, because boy, those are
that's a real role of the dice.

Speaker 3 (08:22):
So Ed please return to the Facebook page and clarify
you much appreciated.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
All right, great question though, Thank you so much. Data.
It is ask us anything, and that's how it goes.
Any question goes eight seven seven nine eight one nine
eight one, or send us a message through social media.
Also use our iHeartRadio app In that talk back, Mike
would love to hear from you.

Speaker 3 (08:42):
And as we talk about these complete Thanksgiving dinners that
we're giving away, it's exactly that you get to keep
your Thanksgiving dinner the way you want to keep it.
It's completely customizable to what you normally like to do.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
Yeah, we're not trying to get in the way of
your dinner. We actually just want to take the stress out,
so you do what you do. We'll make it happen
for you every hour on the hour, six in the
morning until six at night, which means your next chance
it's coming up just a few minutes, seven o'clock. Here
on the Breeze.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
It's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court and our
annual tradition continues taking the stress out of your holidays
with complete Thanksgiving dinners every hour on the hour. And
congratulations to you your Color twenty. You've just won.

Speaker 4 (09:23):
Oh no, I can't believe that.

Speaker 3 (09:26):
You got to believe it.

Speaker 4 (09:28):
You won?

Speaker 1 (09:29):
Oh wow?

Speaker 2 (09:30):
What is your name and where are you listening to us?

Speaker 4 (09:34):
My name is Nancy and I'm from Alameda. We just
remodel our kitchen and we're going to actually have my
family over for a Thanksgiving dinner, so this would be perfect.

Speaker 3 (09:44):
All right, Nancy, what's on the menu.

Speaker 4 (09:46):
I'm sure of course turkey, and we might have some ham,
a small ham, and just a traditional turkey dinner.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
Wow, that's like a restaurant. My family needs to take
a note from Nancy's family.

Speaker 3 (09:59):
You don't have secondary protein, Carolyn. Oh, yeah, we don't
have to.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
We're not a two meat Thanksgiving household. That sounds great, Nancy,
sounds delicious.

Speaker 4 (10:08):
Yes, I can't wait a couple of weeks away.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
I know, it's crazy how quickly this is snuck up
on us. Well, congratulations to you. You know this is
an annual tradition of ours here on the Breeze. Thank
you to Premiere One Credit Union helping us take the
stress out of your holidays. And we do this every
hour on the hour, from six in the morning until
six at night. So that means, Nancy, our next chance
is when at God, I got it so good.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
Really put her on the spot.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
I know she's so cute.

Speaker 3 (10:41):
So obviously, Nancy picking up that Thanksgiving dinner, that complete
Thanksgiving dinner is the bright side of her morning. Yeah,
which brings us to the brighter side is something we
do every weekday morning at this time a chance for
you to call into the show and tell us about
the good and positive things happening in your life. Eight
seven seven nine eight one nine eight one. The Bright
Side of sponsored by Shreven Company, Luxury time Pieces, Fine Designers,

(11:03):
and Flawless Diamond.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
Speaking of brighter sides, my mom's eighty second birthday was yesterday.
I saw on that happy Birthday Mom, Thank you. She
had the best day. I shared some pictures on my
social media, But when I showed up to Carlton Senior
Living yesterday for her birthday, she was wearing a ribbon
that said it's my birthday. Yeah. Cute. Right out of
the gate we went, We called her two brothers, we

(11:27):
called her best friend in Missouri and she got to
talk on the phone to them. And like when we
walked the hallways court at Carlton, every single staff member
stopped to say Happy birthday Mary, and my mom just
to throw her arms out to the side and be
like thank you, it's my day. Very cute. And by
the way, for those of you that don't know, my
mom has dementia and so that's you know, we have

(11:48):
some dark days. Yesterday was such a bright day, and
a couple of weeks ago, I had forgotten that this happened. TJ,
who is the activities director Memory Carrot at Carlton Downtown
Pleasant Hill, had asked me like, what's your mom's favorite dessert.
And I didn't realize at the time why she was asking,
and I said, well, it's Cheesecake Factory, Dulce delay Cha cheesecake.

(12:11):
Never talked about it again, but yesterday I said, hey,
when you guys are serving ice cream for dessert today,
you know, because they always get ice cream at lunch
for dessert, will you please do me a favor since
we're not having a traditional birthday for my mom, just
tell her that this is for her birthday birthday ice cream.
And TJ said, oh no, we went to Cheesecake Factory

(12:31):
and we got her a piece of Dulce delay Cha.
She's great, like, oh my gosh. So it was so
sweet and my mom was like ecstatic. She was so
overwhelmed by all this attention. On her, but she loved it.
She ate it up. So here's the whole point of
this story is I took her on a little walk
through the hallways, you know, later in the day, and

(12:53):
she stopped me and she said, I don't want to
I don't want to cry. And I thought something bad
was about to happen. And I said, Mom, that's okay, No,
it's your birthday, and she goes, no, I'm just having
the best day. And it was so sweet that she
just had the best days. So to everybody at Carlton
Senior Living, like, thank you for making my mom's day
so special.

Speaker 3 (13:12):
It's awesome.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
They are incredible. So I wanted to share that with
you as our brighter side this morning since it just
happened yesterday. But we're at eight seven seven nine eight
one oh nine eight one. Reach us with your brighter sides.
You can always send us a message with our iHeartRadio
app in that talkback mic as well.

Speaker 3 (13:27):
And one more quick reminder, you just heard Nancy win
that complete Thanksgiving dinner. We are doing this every hour
on the hour. We started at six am. It'll go
until six pm tonight, yep, which means your next chance
to win a complete Thanksgiving dinner as we take the
stress out of your holidays. Happens at eight am here
on the Morning Breeze. It's George Michael at seven twenty
seven here on ninety eight point one The Breeze, The

(13:48):
Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Cord And it's that time
of the show where we bring you a knowledge nugget.
I prefer chicken nuggets. Our Arby's has steak nuggets right now?
Oh do they That sounds really good with.

Speaker 2 (14:02):
A dipping maybe the Horsey sauce that they offer, just
change it up, go nuts.

Speaker 3 (14:06):
Yeah, all right, let's get back to it. Let's get
back to the knowledge nuggets.

Speaker 2 (14:09):
Whay I really left my mind for a Minute's the.

Speaker 3 (14:11):
It's the More You Know, sponsored by the San Francisco Symphony.

Speaker 2 (14:17):
So when you are packing for a flight, you know,
most of us think of essentials like our passports and
chargers and headphones. But travel experts are saying there is
a very small item that can make or break your
travel day. It's light, it's inexpensive, it fits easily into
your carry on. Yet a lot of us don't remember
to bring it until it's too late, and they are

(14:38):
saying it is the most important thing you should pack.

Speaker 3 (14:43):
I have no idea what this is.

Speaker 2 (14:45):
It's a pen. Oh, and they say it's a pen
because if you get into a situation where your phone dies, Ye,
you need something to write with for any reason. Good
luck finding a pen these days. Sure. And also if
you do find and do you want an airport pen
or a plane pen?

Speaker 3 (15:03):
No, that everybody else's touched.

Speaker 2 (15:05):
You don't want that, no.

Speaker 3 (15:06):
Ten.

Speaker 2 (15:06):
A pen also allows you to jot down addresses or
directions or notes when you land. Yeah, and if your
phone does die or the Wi Fi heaven forbid, goes
down on the plane, and a pen, then you can
play like crossroad puzzles or whatever puzzles you can journal.
So a pen, it's so important for so many reasons.
Bring it, packet.

Speaker 3 (15:27):
I'm proud to say that I have my backpack here.
I think my backpack goes with me wherever I go,
and it's got a pocket dedicated just to pins sharpies.
I might even have a mechanical pencil in there.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (15:39):
Wow, I'm ready to go.

Speaker 2 (15:41):
Fact that you'll own a mechanical pencil. I think I
left mine in high school.

Speaker 3 (15:44):
Eagles scout right here, as prepared.

Speaker 2 (15:48):
I always carry a pen in my backpack or my
purse as well, just because, like I rarely use it,
but there's once in a while I'm like, I need
a pen?

Speaker 3 (15:56):
What about?

Speaker 2 (15:57):
Ay? What about a sharpie when you need to sign
some autographs? No, but clearly that's why you're carrying one.
I don't have that problem. But anyway, that's what they're saying,
carry a pen with you when you travel, especially with
the holidays coming up. Good information. It is the most
mor thing you could pack.

Speaker 3 (16:14):
Very nice.

Speaker 2 (16:15):
Yeah, and it is the.

Speaker 3 (16:16):
More you know.

Speaker 2 (16:16):
And we do it every weekday morning at this time.
Always love for you to join us. We're at eight
seven seven nine eight one nine eight one. The clock
just hits seven thirty, which means carry the two time sit.

Speaker 3 (16:28):
It isn't that hard, Carolyn.

Speaker 2 (16:29):
Thirty minutes thirty minutes from now is your next chance
to win a complete Thanksgiving dinner as we try to
take the stress out of your holidays.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
Yeah, we're doing this every hour on the hour. We
kicked it off this morning at six am. We'll do
it until six pm. It's all brought to you by
our good friends at Premiere One Credit Union. So be

Speaker 2 (16:47):
Eight am as part of our annual tradition here on
the Breeze.

Speaker 3 (16:51):
Right way, Yeah, so be here at eight am.

Speaker 2 (16:53):

Speaker 3 (17:08):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 1 (17:10):
Oh, it's gonna help so much.

Speaker 2 (17:12):
It's been tough.

Speaker 1 (17:14):
My husband has been unemployed for a while, so it's gonna.

Speaker 2 (17:19):
Help quite a bit. Well, this is our goal is
to help take the stress out of your holidays. And
we're obviously sorry to hear that about your husband, but
hopefully this will aviate things for you just a tiny
bit so you can enjoy your Thanksgiving that perfectly. Yeah,
I would just help a lot, just to get the dinner.

Speaker 3 (17:37):
Sure, tell us who you are and where you're coming from.

Speaker 1 (17:40):
My name is Hazon from Tamato.

Speaker 2 (17:42):
All right, Hazel, so we've got a complete Thanksgiving dinner
for you. As I mentioned, it's an annual tradition of
ours here on the Breeze. We're trying to take the
stress out of your holidays. We thank Premiere One Credit
Union for making this possible. Thank you so much. Yeah.
We do it every hour on the hour, six in
the morning until six at nights. So your next chance

Speaker 3 (18:03):
I love giving the way these complete Thanksgiving dinners, me too.

Speaker 2 (18:07):
And our listeners. You guys are always so appreciative and
it just makes us so happy to be able to
do this for you. So I can't wait to give
away the next one. This is great.

Speaker 3 (18:17):
Yeah, So again, that's coming up at nine o'clock. And
an important reminder here as we look at the clocks
and whatnot, Carolyn, are you having issues since we fell
back a couple of weeks ago with getting your internal
clock set?

Speaker 2 (18:30):
You know what's funny. It's funny that you bring that up,
because I thought I would be fine with this because
we're falling back and we're you gain an hour that
first night, yes, and so I thought I'll be more rested.
But I've been so off, and I've been hearing from
other people that they are so off.

Speaker 3 (18:47):
Yeah. I don't know what it is about this year,
because obviously this is something that happens every year. Yeah,
but for the past. I guess we're what two weeks
into this, I think so.

Speaker 2 (18:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (18:56):
I have been like I'll hit like seven, even like
six thirty in my brain at night in our new time,
and which used to be an hour later, right, and
my body's just like it's time for bedman nine nine,
Just go to bed. And so I had I started
going to bed at seven fifteen instead of the regular

(19:16):
eight fifteen because my body was just like, you just
got to go to bed.

Speaker 2 (19:20):
That's so funny.

Speaker 3 (19:21):
And I thought this would be And when it first happened,
I thought this will only be a couple of days.

Speaker 2 (19:25):
Sure, it has been every single day since. Yeah, no,
don't fight it when you're tired, you're tired. I'm still
trying to adjust perk. Yeah, my dog to you know,
dogs don't know that there was a time change. She
usually eats her dinner at two and now at won
she's staring me in the face and I'm trying to
get her to at least wait till one thirty. We're
still working through that. Two weeks in.

Speaker 3 (19:45):
You always hear about people with pets or with young
children that have this big struggle, and I guess apparently
when you reach forty eight years old, you also struggle with.

Speaker 2 (19:54):
It that old seven to fifteen bedtime. I'm just I
thought I I would get used to this, but to
give yourself time to adjust. Man, you should see my
sleep scores right now. But they're pretty great.

Speaker 3 (20:06):
They're pretty great, pretty great. All right.

Speaker 2 (20:07):
We're at eight seven seven nine eight one nine eight one.
Send us a message anytime using our iHeartRadio app. We've
got that talkback microphone on there, and it makes it
really easy for you to send us a message when
it's convenient for you.

Speaker 3 (20:19):

the only part that we're going to stress because we're
trying to take the stress out of your holidays with
complete Thanksgiving dinners and annual tradition of giving away complete
Thanksgiving dinners every hour on the hour.

Speaker 1 (20:33):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (20:34):
We do it from six to six, six in the
morning till six at night. So be here at nine

On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
