Speaker 1 (00:20):
Okay, so who is this and where are you listening
to us?

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Brittany from Freemont.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
And the most important question, Brittany is what's on the
menu this year?

Speaker 3 (00:28):
So I'm going to make peak on pie.

Speaker 4 (00:30):
Oh nice, I make little mini peak on pies.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
Yeah, and now you can make it extra special. Yes,
we are so happy for you. This is so great. Well,
congratulations Brittany, you have officially won a complete Thanksgiving dinner.

Speaker 4 (00:41):
Thank you.

Speaker 5 (00:41):
Yes, it's an annual tradition of ours here on the Breeze,
giving away complete Thanksgiving dinners every hour on the hour,
from six in the morning until six at night is
our goal to try and take the stress out of
your holidays. Thank you Premiere One Credit Union for making
this happen. And you're going to have another chance coming
up seven o'clock here on the Morning Breeze.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
And coming up next we've got the Morning Breeze brain Teas.
Here's today's question, Carolyn, Okay, orders for this spiked nearly
three thousand percent on Thanksgiving Day last year.

Speaker 5 (01:13):
Yes, okay, eight seven seven nine eight one oh nine
eight one. If you think you have the answer, you
can also send us a talk back with our iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
We're going to play the brain tease next birthrees roverta
flack at six point twenty here on ninety eight point one.
The Breeze. It's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Cord
and jumping right into it. It's the Morning Breeze brain
Teas sponsored by Mike Counsel Plumbing. You're in clean hands
with Mike Counsel Plumbing. Visit them at mc plumbing dot com.
All right, what's the question? One more time? Court Orders

(01:43):
for this spiked nearly three thousand percent on Thanksgiving Day
last year. If you want to get specific, twenty nine
and sixty percent. That does make a difference in my thinking. Okay, No,
it doesn't. All right?

Speaker 5 (01:56):
Eight seven seven nine eight one nine eight one. Benjamin
in San Francisco, Good morning. We're going to start with you.
What do you think the answer is to the brain
tease today?

Speaker 1 (02:06):
Turky turkey. If Turkey's want a twenty nine percent on
the actual Thanksgiving day, somebody's in trouble. Not the right answer,
but it is kind of turkey adjacent.

Speaker 5 (02:21):
You'll have to keep listening to find the answer out, Benjamin,
Thank you for calling, Thanks for listening.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
All right, thank you.

Speaker 5 (02:27):
Good morning. Gino in American Canyon. You've got a guess.
What do you think of the answers to today's brain tease? Stuffy, stuffy,
last minute you forget the stuffing? You're like, side, Yes,
there's a lot of that. I every Thanksgiving, every household
has something that they forgot. Yeah, where you could do
that last minute dash to the store. I'm going to

(02:49):
say something controversial right now. What if you were too
if you invited me over to your house and you
forgot the stuffing, I would say thank you.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
Not a fan that is.

Speaker 4 (03:00):
Is no, that's okay. Not everybody likes stuffing because of
the way of it's prepared, right, But if you've prepared
it stuffing separate ont of the turkey, it can be delicious,
court it can.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
Be love it or not.

Speaker 5 (03:13):
Boys, My stuffing is stovetop in the box and it's
simply water.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
Butter. So nothing wrong with that.

Speaker 4 (03:23):
Great.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
I was going to ask you for a special recipe,
but it sounds like there is no special recipes. Call
it what you want, right, love the easy, peasy? Yeah?
All right, so stuffing as delicious as some people on
this conversation believe it to be. Yep, is that's not
the correct answer?

Speaker 4 (03:40):
All right?

Speaker 1 (03:41):
What's the answer? Orders for meat thermometers spiked three thousand
percent on Thanksgiving Day last year.

Speaker 4 (03:48):
Wow, that never even crossed my mind.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
Me thermometers. I've got two of them in my house.

Speaker 4 (03:55):
Because I have two of them at home. Yeah, it's
important to have me to cook and its poetry.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
Oh yeah, agree, what's that say? What's that safe number? Yeah?
He just got GENO one sixty five.

Speaker 5 (04:06):
Oh good to know. I mean again, I am making
stuffing out of the box.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
So I'm making a note here to not eat meat
at Carolyn's place. That's a good note to me.

Speaker 5 (04:19):
Good advice, all right, Joe. Well, we appreciate you calling,
call any time.

Speaker 4 (04:24):
All right, Love you guys.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
We love you too.

Speaker 5 (04:28):

weekday morning here at six twenty and coming up this morning,
at seven o'clock, another chance for you to win one
of those complete Thanksgiving dinners, part of our annual tradition
here on the Breeze.

Speaker 1 (04:41):

Eight seven seven nine, eight one oh nine eight want
er send us a talk back with our iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
Good morning, Michelle and Antioch. All right, ask us anything.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
My question is for Cork.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
Okay, you know, huh.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
Sometimes when I call in, he asked me, okay. Sixty
percent of us do this and we give you our answers.

Speaker 4 (05:27):
Song.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
I want to let where Cork gets his information or.

Speaker 5 (05:32):
His Okay, So you're talking about our Morning Breeze brain
teas that we do every weekday morning at six twenty
again at eight forty. So you're asking, like, where does
he come up with the questions for the brain teas Selle,
excellent question.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
I have a variety of websites that I go to
that I source this information from.

Speaker 5 (05:52):
And Michelle, he basically steals them. It sounds like, Oh,
I was going.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
To say, you have you have your own little Almax.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
That's sure, I do. I've got I've got four or
five websites that I go to on the regular that
help me formulate these questions, and that's where I get them.
So they're all they're all based. In fact, I help
construct the questions in a certain way to make them
brain teasy. Think that's a word? Yes is now? And yeah,

(06:21):
like I I just kind of scour the web looking
for interesting facts. There you go.

Speaker 5 (06:25):
Now, you know, I feel like playing that the more
you know, did we actually learn anything?

Speaker 1 (06:29):
Though? We learn that you steal the questions from other websites.
I don't steal them. Would you think I have enough
time in my day to, like I do, do studies
call people on the phone.

Speaker 5 (06:43):
Okay, that's great, Michelle, all right, anyday, have a good
day and a good weekend.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
Thank you maybe we should call this segment bus courts chops.

Speaker 5 (06:55):
Apparently, I thought you're gonna say we should call it
court steals.

Speaker 1 (06:58):
Yeah, rag on court.

Speaker 5 (07:00):

You're good, mom.

Speaker 5 (09:23):
So are you? Are you leaving in five days? Like
when you retire, you're going right to No.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
No, I think we're leaving in December.

Speaker 1 (09:30):
Okay, what do you teach?

Speaker 4 (09:33):
A history and math?

Speaker 1 (09:34):
So what grades are we talking about here?

Speaker 2 (09:36):
Sixth grade? It's the best history. If you ever wonder
the future is the kids are really bad, almost gonna
happen in the future. Please know these kids are thoughtful,
they are kind, they are funny, they are they're wonderful.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
So and that's coming from a teacher.

Speaker 5 (09:57):
You know, you spend a lot of time with them,
so that means a lot coming from you.

Speaker 2 (10:01):
Yeah, their best class I've ever This grade this year
is the best class I've ever had, So they're amazing.

Speaker 5 (10:10):

a brighter side like Tony, we would love to hear
from you. You can call us eight seven seven nine
eight one nine eight one, or use the talkback feature
on our free iHeart Radio app. I like to say it,
but you will never get a busy signal if you
use that talkback feature on our free iHeart radio app.
That you will not.

Speaker 5 (10:39):
And just a reminder, we've got more of those complete
Thanksgiving dinners on the way. Your chance to win is
we try to take the stress out of your holidays.
Next one coming up eight o'clock. Here on the Breeze,
the Righteous Brothers on the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and
Court every weekday morning at seven twenty five, we do
The More You Know, sponsored by our friends at the
San Francisco Symphony. I especially like this The More you Know, Court,

(11:05):
because you mentioned a minute ago that this has to
do with figuring out whether men are marriage material or not.

Speaker 1 (11:10):
Yeah, there is a meme gaining traction on social media
which says, according to psychologists, men who break traffic rules
make better husbands. That's a meme that's on social media. Yeah,
it's on social media. Now, I went and looked through
all of my scientific journals and I found nothing on this.

(11:31):
How many scientific journals do you have a couple? Do you? Okay?
I have none. I have none. I did some research
on this, but I kept like last week, this was
fed to me multiple times from multiple sources. So oftentimes
what I like to do is I go to the
internet again and I type in what the headline is. Sure,
so in this case, it says men who break traffic

(11:53):
rules make better husbands or partners.

Speaker 5 (11:55):
I wonder what the reasoning in that is. Seriously, it
was like, you're breaking the law basically, and that makes
you a better it makes you better husband material? Like, okay,
if it does, but that's really random.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
Yeah, my research came back and basically said there is
no actual scientific study claiming this or saying that's true.
But here's what I did find. Okay, so why I
bring it up. This is the more you know. After all.
According to some psychologists, men who can bend the rules
even behind the wheel, may have an advantage when it
comes to relationships because it shows they have the real

(12:30):
ability to adapt, improvise find solutions when things get complicated.
And so again, you look at the driving techniques of
somebody that you're interested in. Sure they're breaking those rules there,
They might be perfect for you. They're a keeper. Yeah,
good to know. I'll keep my eyes extra peeled on
the roads this morning. When it sounds so skeptical, I

(12:52):
don't know.

Speaker 5 (12:52):
I mean I got to see it to believe it
on this sure, Yeah, all right, it's the more you know.
We do it every weekday morning at seven twenty five.
Callus with any questions that you may have, or if
you just want to call and say hi. Eight seven
seven nine eight one oh nine eight one. You know,
you can always use the talkback microphone on our iHeartRadio
app to send us a message as well.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
Also, don't forget coming up this morning at eight o'clock.
It's another chance to win a complete Thanksgiving dinner. So
let me look at the time, Hary, It's seven twenty
nine now, which means we're about thirty one minutes away.

Speaker 5 (13:24):
We are, and we have been having such a good
time doing this this week. It's our way of trying
to take the stress out of your holidays, one less
thing you have to worry about. So make sure you're
here at eight o'clock for your next chance to win
on the Breeze.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
It's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court and we're
still doing it, giving away complete Thanksgiving dinners every hour
on the hour. And congratulations to you you've just won.

Speaker 3 (13:48):
Thank you so much much.

Speaker 2 (13:50):
Oh my gosh, I'm totally not expecting it.

Speaker 4 (13:52):
I looked down and I'm like, what could it be.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
It's happening.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
Oh my god.

Speaker 4 (13:58):
Thank you guys so much.

Speaker 1 (14:00):
So what is your name and where you listening to us?

Speaker 4 (14:03):
I work in Sally Andro.

Speaker 1 (14:04):
My name is Marina.

Speaker 2 (14:06):
Have family coming down from Texas, so our family just
got bigger. So it's going to help me plan out
better to accommodate for my family.

Speaker 4 (14:13):
So looking forward to that now.

Speaker 1 (14:15):
This is awesome.

Speaker 5 (14:15):
It's an annual tradition of ours here on the Breeze,
giving away complete Thanksgiving dinners every hour on the hour
from six in the morning until six at night is
our goal to try and take the stress out of
your holidays. Thank you Premiere One Credit Union for making
this happen.

Speaker 1 (14:31):
Yeah, big thank you to them, and don't forget your
next chance to win is coming up at nine am
here on the morning Breeze.

Speaker 5 (14:37):
So I had something happen the other day kind of
embarrassing court, but I want to know if this has
happened to you or anybody else that's listening. I was
on a Zoom call and I don't do a lot
of Zoom calls, right. Have you noticed that Zoom has
like improved their filters. You shuld do more filters than use.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
It used to be just you could change out your background.
Then you can make your background like fuzzy so you
can see that you're for it out of your kit
and there's dirty dishes in the sink, which is exactly
what I've been doing. So but now they're like putting
like on other filters, they're putting on makeup filters.

Speaker 5 (15:08):
So I can essentially jump on a Zoom call with
no makeup, but hit that filter and it puts makeup
on me. Okay, But the problem is if you need
your peepers. The zoom preview window before you jump onto
the call is a very small window for you to
see your own appearance.

Speaker 1 (15:26):
Right, It's not as big as the actual window end
up to be, right.

Speaker 5 (15:29):
So I was looking at this preview appearance and I thought,
with the filter that I chose for lipstick and eyebrows,
I looked great.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
And then it launched me into the call with two
men and my makeup.

Speaker 5 (15:44):
I looked like an old, pasty lady with a rouge
lipstick that was like way too bright. And the problem was,
once I was in the call, I couldn't make a change.

Speaker 1 (15:57):
Right, you were kind of stuck. I was stuck.

Speaker 5 (15:59):
So this entire call, one of the guys on the
call I had just met like that day, so there
was no way out of it. And I thought, this
man's impression is that I'm an old lady with a
very pale face and way too much rouge slipstock.

Speaker 1 (16:13):
Do you think he couldn't tell that it was a filter,
because I'm here to tell you most of the time
I can tell when people have put a filter onto
a video or a picture.

Speaker 5 (16:22):
After the few you can, But I don't know if
this guy. This guy could I don't know, and I
can't ask him, and I almost don't even want to know.

Speaker 1 (16:30):
You didn't. It was that bad. You didn't. You didn't
feel obligated because this is what I would have done.
It's just like, oh, guys, I'm sorry. I was messing
around with the filter, just goofing on the filter, and
I forgot to turn it off.

Speaker 5 (16:41):
It was like a financial call, like I just it
was very embarrassing. So anyway, if anybody else has had
this happen with these filters, please call and make me
feel better. Eight seven seven nine eight nine eight one
is how you reach us, or send us a message
with our free iHeartRadio.

Speaker 1 (16:57):
App, and be sure to join us later this hour
fifty as you begin your workday, We're going to give

And that all kicks off at eight point fifty here

and Court.

the hour. Nine o'clock is no different. You are collar twenty.
You just won that nine o'clock complete Thanksgiving dinner.

Speaker 3 (17:23):

so happy.

Speaker 1 (17:28):

Speaker 4 (17:30):
Oh I'm so glad.

Speaker 2 (17:32):
It's gonna save me a trip to the story, that's
for sure.

Speaker 1 (17:36):

Speaker 3 (17:38):

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
