Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Morning Breeze, The Morning Breeze on.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
Demand The Righteous Brother six twenty Good Morning, the Morning
Breeze with Carolyn and Cord. You know, every weekday morning
we do the Morning Breeze brain teas at this time,
and I always feel like it's such a great way
to start your day because it gets you thinking.
Speaker 3 (00:19):
You know.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
It's it's very easy in the morning to just zone out, yeah,
when you're at home or you're in your car, but
this gets you kind of thinking. It warms up your
brain a little bit. I've heard you say that before.
I have always likened it to mental calisthenics. You some
people wake up and do some stretches and do some
jumping jacks. We just want you to think a little bit.
You know, I don't know anybody that does that, does
(00:42):
some jumping jacks. You know, anybody you know one person
that gets up and does some jumping jacks. Isn't still
stuck in nineteen eighty four. I'm off the top of
my head, no, but I'm sure somebody out there does this.
Please call us if you're that person.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
I have this little like this chess exer, so in
the morning when I am doing my mouth wash, I
put my mouth wash in. Yeah, I grab my little
my little chest exerciser and I do thirty reps.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
That is quite a visual I'm getting here in the studio.
You can imagine with you know, so as you're listening
to this, what you're thinking is exactly what I'm looking
at right now.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
Yeah, it's quite a vision.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Butterfly in my mouth is full of the A'm swishing. Yep, ladies,
he's taken, all right. Eight seven seven nine eight one
nine eight one. That's how you reach us. It's the
Morning Breeze Brain Teas's sponsored by my Council Plumbing. You're
in clean hands with my Council Plumbing. See them online
mc plumbing dot com.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
All right, A recent study showed the average person stops
doing this at age thirty three.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
Okay, So I received an email from Elena who listens
in Santa Cruz and or a DM and to your
point just now of your chest exercises and your mouth washing.
Elena suggested that the answer to this question might be
exercising exercising.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
The average person stops doing this at age thirty three.
I hope not. Well, I definitely did not.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
No, but you know how it goes as you get older. Oh,
it's tougher to work out. I like her guess a lot,
and I've had periods where I don't regularly do anything.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
Oh I've been in that period for two months. Great
guess what what was her name again? Elena? Great guess,
But it's not the answer. We're looking forward today, all right.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
We've got people call it in Karen in windsor good morning?
What are you thinking? The answer is.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
Erring, Cary, I what am I thirty three? There is
something to this answer, and I really I think, Karen,
you're wrong but right, because here's the thing, and younger
people listen to this. The older you get, the more
perspective you have on things. And I think the less
(02:54):
you care or worry about the small stuff, you right?
One percent?
Speaker 4 (02:58):
Right?
Speaker 1 (02:58):
Karen? Do you agree with that? Agree me too? It's
a it's a pretty amazing change in one's life when
you reach that point where it's not that you don't care,
it's just that you don't care about the things that
don't matter, and you're just tired. Well, and that we're
all just tired. That is tired.
Speaker 3 (03:17):
What other people think of being in my thirties, that
I did in my money.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
Exactly. That is exactly it, Karen. I therefore you're not right.
Before I'm gonna put an asterisk by Karen being not right,
because that is a great answer.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
Here's the correct answer. According to the study, which by
the way, came out of Harvard, the average person stops
having birthday parties at age thirty three. At thirty three,
they're like, I'm not I don't need a birthday party.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
You know, I still have birthday party, So I don't
know about that one every year. Yeah, I usually I
have to plan it myself now, Yeah, I know.
Speaker 1 (03:49):
I know.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
It's what's a typical birthday party? What did you do
for your last birthday? I mean, I guess it's not
technically a party. If I have a few friends over
to a gay.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
Night or maybe just go on a trip or something
that's a party. Count that's a celebration. Sure, and that
also sounds fun.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
Yeah, you've got our number for your next party, Karen,
just reach out.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
I'm here. Somebody in this studio is expecting an invite.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
Oh, good year is a wine?
Speaker 1 (04:16):
Yep, same statement, Karen, you know where to find me.
We'll have a good day. Thank you for listening to
the show, Thank you too, all right bye. It's interesting
that the thirty that thirty three becomes that end of birthdays.
I know, I haven't had a birthday party, like you know,
birthday party. I haven't either since in a long time,
(04:36):
like high school maybe, But my family's actually pretty good
at still making kind of it's not a party, but
it's kind of a it's a celebration.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
I like going to like gatherings with girlfriends, sort of
like she was talking about, like that's fine, but throwing
a party. I have a friend who throws parties for
her dogs.
Speaker 1 (04:52):
Oh that's pretty cool.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
She's married, yeah, saying are you saying that?
Speaker 1 (04:57):
And believe it or not, she's married.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
No, no, no, I'm used to it now, But at
first I was like, whoa.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
She puts them on.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
The chair at the dining table with cake and hats on,
and these dogs sit there.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
Pretty cute. It's the pictures are pretty cute.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
So anyway, it's the Morning Breeze brain tease. We do
it every weekday morning here at six twenty on the
Morning Breeze. We also want to let you know, you know,
we talk about San Francisco Bay Coffee, a lot on
our radio station.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
Yeah, it's the official coffee of the Morning Breeze. We
love this coffee.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
I am drinking a cup of it right now, and
we want to bring this up because we have an
opportunity for you to win a supply of your favorite
San Francisco Bay coffee yeah plus more.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
Yeah, we're actually going to give you a San Francisco
Bay Coffee T shirt and apron a water bottle and
a tote. I know all this stuff is going to
fit down inside of that tote. We don't even have
the totey. I'm so jealous of this.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
So all you have to do is go to our
contest page, go to ninety eight one The Breeze dot Com,
click on it there and it is your chance to win.
Speaker 1 (05:59):

Speaker 2 (06:01):

anything that might be on your mind. Yes, sir eight
seven seven nine eight one nine eight one. That's how
you riches. You can also don't call me sir. That's
(06:27):
my favorite. I just like my contribution. Yes, sir eight
seven seven nine eight oneh nine eight one. Or as
I was saying, you can use the talkback feature on
our free iHeartRadio WEP and send us your questions that way. Yes,
it is a talkback Tuesday. After all, it's Wendy and
San ramon Good Morning. Ask us anything.
Speaker 4 (06:45):
How long you guys been working in that kind of industry?
Speaker 3 (06:48):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (06:48):
How long have we been in the industry?
Speaker 2 (06:50):
Oh my gosh, Well since I am barely in my
forties and I've been working since I was five. No, no, no,
I've been in this industry for several decades.
Speaker 1 (07:03):
Yeah, I've officially hit that mark. Okay, do I get
to count when I did a radio show in high
school because my high school had a radio station. I
don't know. I guess I got an FCC license. Okay,
So if that's the case that I'm over thirty years as.
Speaker 2 (07:18):
Well, Oh good, welcome to the over thirty years. Oh yes, yeah,
great question. Wendy and we hope to do it.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
For thirty who love. That's exactly right.
Speaker 2 (07:26):
We like the Breeze a lot, so we'd like to
just keep this train going.
Speaker 3 (07:30):
I listen to you guys every day.
Speaker 1 (07:32):
Yes, that's so nice. Thank you, thank you.
Speaker 2 (07:36):
That was my first time that I call and this
I have a you.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
Know, lack to getting to the talking to you guys.
Just very nice.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
Talking to you guys, very nice. We so appreciate you
calling in. Thank you for listening. That was a great
question and we love having you on our audience. So
we hope you have a good rest of your day.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
You too, Thank you so much. Take care of you too.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
Okay, so I did the math on that. It's pretty easy.
You add thirty and thirty right combined? We have sixty
years court is that?
Speaker 1 (08:07):
Is that our new tagline on the Morning Breeze, sixty
years radio experience.
Speaker 2 (08:12):
That is a crazy thought. Holy cow, Yeah, it makes
me feel so young. Sure, all right, it's ask us
anything as you can see, any question goes whatever is
on your mind. Let us know eight seven seven nine
eight one nine eight one, or do send us those talkbacks.
We're getting a lot of talkbacks. You guys are doing
a great job. Keep them coming. We love your talkbacks.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
And a reminder coming up this morning at seven forty,
it's another chance to win tickets to the twenty twenty
six Alameda County Fair in Pleasanton.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
It will be sunny again here in the Bay Area
at some point and it will be warm and you
are going to be there. So nice to have those
tickets like in your possession locked in you know you're
going to the fair. So seven forty this morning, as
Court said, Alameda County Fair tickets here on the Breeze,
Savage Gardens, seven oh nine Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court.
Let's get right to it. It is the Brighter Side.
(09:01):
We do it every weekday morning, just after seven o'clock,
and it's a chance for you to call us and
tell us about the good stuff that's happening in your life.
It's sponsored by streaming company Luxury time Pieces, Find Designers,
Flawless Diamonds. We mentioned this a minute ago. It is
a Tuesday. It is a talkback Tuesday here on the Breeze.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
Yeah, and then today our brighter set actually comes by
way of a talkback. Yes it does.
Speaker 3 (09:23):
I hope you can hear me I'm at work right now,
but my news that I have is that my last
baby is going to be graduating in May. So I'm
really excited about it. It's my last baby, and I'm
just proud to see her walk across the stage.
Speaker 1 (09:39):
So that's my news for today. That is so cute
that it's cute you're going through that right, Jok's in
a factory though. First of all, I was just noticing
all that like construction work or factory sounds something like that.
Speaker 2 (09:51):
Yeah, well, and she said, I hope you can hear me,
so it was definitely a factory or something.
Speaker 1 (09:55):
To your point. My baby is also graduating this year.
She'll be walking across the stage in that diploma and
I think she graduates in June. But yeah, no, it's
it's it's got to be so weird. It's so weird
every time for her. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
The woman that just left the talk back, I'm sorry,
we don't know your name, but I don't know if
this is her first, yeah, or she's had several.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
But for you, this is your last, Yeah, I would assume.
I think that's kind of a general term when you
refer to somebody as your baby, that means there are
multiple babies, so Sloane in our family as our baby. Okay,
we've had multiple babies, but Sloan is the baby.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
She's the youngest, the youngest, that's what sheferr.
Speaker 1 (10:39):
Yeah, Yeah, it's weird. My wife and I are are
constantly realizing that we are just months away from being
technically empty nesters, that she's going to go off to college,
and yeah, we're gonna be like, hey, what do you
want to do Now.
Speaker 2 (10:53):
You look at each other and just go yeah.
Speaker 1 (10:57):
So that was twenty years of our life. Yeah, it's
got to be.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
I can't imagine, and I'm sure a lot of our
listeners have been through this such a weird time in
your life. Because it's a new chapter for Sloan. In
this case, Quinn has already gone through it. It's a
new chapter for you and for Randy for many different reasons.
It's got to be very emotional for a lot of
different reasons.
Speaker 1 (11:22):
It is. It's again because she is our baby, and
we did go through as you mentioned with Quinn, like
we kind of have we kind of know what to
expect what we're walking into, but there is just this
big unknown of like after her that this is it. Yeah,
to be us and the dogs.
Speaker 2 (11:40):
Which that's great, it's pretty gat it's great for the
dogs are great, it's great for them.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
It's great for them. But it's kind of sad.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
You guys will figure it out though, you'll figure it out.
And your girls are so good that they're not those
aren't Your girls are not the girls to be like
bye and you never hear from them.
Speaker 1 (11:55):
No, you're you're gonna be over. We've alway already been
informed that when graduates, which she's two years, a year
and a half away from that. Wow, she's moving back
in with us.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
Oh, perfect, So it all works out all right. Well,
that is the brighter side. Feel free to send us
your brighter side again. Use that talkback feature. It's just
the microphone on our iHeartRadio AP. It's very easy to use.
Never get a busy signal right, comes to us right away,
you could say whatever you want. You can also call us,
of course eight seven seven nine eight one nine one.
Speaker 1 (12:25):
And remember that number because coming up this morning at
seven point forty, you'll need it. We've got more tickets
to the twenty twenty six Alameda County Fair in Pleasanton.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
Yes, their black Friday Cyber Monday sale is starting soon.
But you're going to have a chance to win four
tickets before you can even buy them for that on
that sale. So be here at seven forty your chance
to win on the Breeze.
Speaker 1 (12:46):
It's Blondie at seven twenty nine. Here on ninety eight
point one the Breeze. You've got the Morning Breeze with
Carolyn and Court and it's time now for the Halloween
Candy edition of the More you Know, sponsored by the
San Francisco Symphony.
Speaker 2 (13:01):
That is correct, Court, we are now over two weeks
past Halloween. If you are still hanging on to some
of your Halloween candy, we now know how long it lasts. Okay,
let me just say before I begin to the people
in our office that come in right before Halloween and
you dump a bunch of candy on the table, right
(13:23):
and I open it because I am that person that
will take it. Sure, and it's a white film on
your chocolate. Oh yeah, I know what you're doing. You're
clearing out last year candy. And I will also say
it's quite delicious, all right. So candy, corn, caramels, some
say caramels, peanut butter cups, gum, others soft and chewy candy.
(13:46):
You've got six to nine months to eat that and
then it goes bad.
Speaker 1 (13:49):
All right, Okay, Okay? Should I be writing this down?
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (13:52):
Okay, maybe just keeping your head. White chocolate and milk chocolate,
those are the main offenders. Tho are the ones I
see in the kettles. Eat those quick eight to ten
months longer. That means that that candy that I've been
eating in the kitchen probably two years. Jelly beans, lollipops,
Jolly Ranchers, they last up to one year. Do you
(14:12):
ever get a Jolly rancher where? I know you don't
carry a purse, But for me, I'll find it in
the bottom of my purse and I'll eat it. But
I'm pretty much eating more rapper than Jolly rancher at
that point. How the wrappers sticks.
Speaker 1 (14:24):
Stuck to it? Yeah? Yeah, I'm not a big Jelly
Rancher fan.
Speaker 2 (14:27):
I feel like it's too much work for a candy.
It's a waste of a candy. It's a lollipop without
a stick. You know, Let's put it on a stick
at least. Yeah, we want to stick? Yeah, all right.
Dark chocolate lasts up to two years. So if you
get dark chocolate, hang on to that.
Speaker 1 (14:42):
It lasts for a while. All right, So there you go. Wow,
I think we've all learned something.
Speaker 2 (14:48):
I had no idea. I thought they were going to
say when I first saw this it would be like
five years.
Speaker 1 (14:53):
That's good for it. I was shocked to see, like
pretty much corn everything's within that year. Yeah, you've got
a year to eat it. That Halloween candy is not
surviving that long in my house at all. No, it
won't even come close.
Speaker 4 (15:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
We actually asked this question on our Facebook page at
ninety at one of the breeze, like do you still
have Halloween candy at home? Like did it make it
through the storm or is it gone? My answer was,
I ate it all. It's gone.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
It's long gone. What about you. We've just got a
little bit, but it's it's probably got.
Speaker 2 (15:21):
Days day go days. Your Halloween candy is not going
to see Thanksgiving.
Speaker 1 (15:26):
No, it's out. Heaven's no.
Speaker 2 (15:27):
Well, and we've got a lot of people that are like, nope,
I ate it all. Everybody's saying I ate A couple
people said yes, But we have that question on our
page ninety eight one of the Breeze of course, that's
on Facebook. Call us for anything anytime eight seven seven
nine eight one oh nine eight one. And just know
that in a matter of minutes we're going to have
another chance for you to win tickets to the Alameda
County Fair.
Speaker 1 (15:47):
That's right, we're doing that at seven forty year chance
to win a four pack of tickets to the twenty
twenty six Alameda County Fair. Here on the morning Breeze. Hi,
Good morning the Breeze. Who is this five?
Speaker 2 (15:57):
Good morning Michael, Michael.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
How are you doing this morning?
Speaker 2 (16:00):
I'm doing it.
Speaker 1 (16:01):
How about you, guys, We're doing all right? Thanks for asking. Yeah, Michael,
you feel like going to the fair?
Speaker 4 (16:06):
I do? I do feel good.
Speaker 1 (16:09):
There should be no hesitation there. Michael. You are the winner,
your collar ten the winner. Yep, all right, Michael.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
We've got a fun of four pack of tickets for
the twenty twenty six Alameda County Fair and pleasant and
don't miss their Black Friday Cyber Monday sale. You can
get the biggest deal on emission tickets, carnival rides and
more Alameda Countyfair dot com.
Speaker 1 (16:31):
The sale ends December second at midnight. Oh thank you, guys,
You're so welcome and we'll have another chance to win tomorrow,
same time. Seven forty Here on the Morning Breeze. That
is a song you will hear only on the Breeze.
That one courtesy of Sergio Mendez. Eight oh eight, Good morning,
It is the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and cor So. Carolyn,
as you know, this past weekend, I took a trip
(16:53):
up to Eugene, Oregon, to the University of Oregon. Yeah,
for Dad's weekend. So cute to be with my daughter
and go to a football game. That was yes and
my wife. Even though it was dad's weekend. My wife
came along with me. That's very generous of you, because
it's very smart. We kind of just realized that we
were going to this game and my daughter was going
to head into the student section. I can't go into
(17:16):
the student section. Why I'm not. You can't go in
the student section. It's for students only. Really, that's the
way they do it at the University of Work. Oh
and I think most colleges are that way. I don't
know what cal I always see parents in the students.
They shouldn't be there. Oh okay, anyway, Well, like I'm
one for following rules because what I'm about to tell
you might shock you. You are a rule I follow. I
(17:39):
follow the rules I follow. I love following the rules.
It makes me feel good. However, I went to meet
up with my daughter Quinn with my wife, and she
told us we needed to meet up with her and
some of her friends from her sorority, and then we
were going to walk to the stadium, which is about
a twenty thirty minute walk, okay, And it was a long,
long story short. It was just better to away from
(18:00):
the stadium because it's just a mess after as Yeah,
So I said, well, where should I park. She's like, well,
there's this church kind of in the area. You can
park there. We parked there all the time. I'm like okay.
And so I get there and I look around and
I see a sign that says don't park here unless
you have a permit. And I'm like, I can't park here,
and she's like, no, that's fine, you can park there.
(18:20):
They allow you to perk park here.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
So this is a church that you're cheating in. So
I parked there, of all places.
Speaker 1 (18:31):
I know, and and then and we we walked to
the game and a good time was had by all
except for me, because you're freaking out because I'm tinking
about this rental car that is sitting in Jesus's parking lot. Yeah,
(18:54):
I'm just I'm That's all I can think about the
entire night. So, by the way, if you if you
follow the Breeze on Facebook or Instagram, you can actually
go see pictures of me and my wife, yeah, my
daughter Quinn. You look like you're having a great time. Yeah,
it's all appearances because you see me smiling. And the
only thing that's in the back of my head is
is that Carr going to be there when I get
back here? We're going to be a boot on it.
Speaker 2 (19:15):
And how funny is it that you sent me that
picture over the weekend And did I not comment? That
is the cutest picture of you guys. You have the
best smile on your face. Now that I know the backstory,
if you leave being your car in a church.
Speaker 1 (19:28):
Park, learn how to fake it.
Speaker 2 (19:30):
But I mean good calling Quen's part that she sniffed
out the sign. That doesn't really mean me because when
we did walk back, the car was there.
Speaker 1 (19:38):
There was no issues with it.
Speaker 2 (19:39):
Wow, they got lucky. I would not mess with the
church parking lot. It says, don't park here.
Speaker 1 (19:44):
I can't believe you. I thought I felt peer pressure
from not only my daughter, but my wife. They were
just like, it's fine, it's fine.
Speaker 2 (19:52):
I asked Court for some more backstory on Court Johnson.
I asked Court one time, one time to tell a
small fib for me. I came in the next day
and said, how did it go? And He's like, I
said everything. I told all the details. I couldn't keep
it in. I'm a bad liar.
Speaker 1 (20:11):
I'm horrible on never again. There there is a reason
why this guy has no police record. Well, I'm not
even a blip on the radar when it comes to
the authorities. I can't believe what I am hearing. I
need a minute.
Speaker 2 (20:24):
All right, we're at eight seven seven. I didn't get
caught Court eight seven seven nine eight one nine eight one.
Send us a talk back with our iHeartRadio app. That
is always an option for you because you will never
get a busy signal. It's just that microphone in the
top right corner of our app. You just push it,
speak into it and that message comes to us right away,
and be sure to join us.
Speaker 1 (20:44):
Later in the hour eight fifty. As you kick off
your workday, We're kicking off ninety eight minutes of NonStop, commercial, free,
relaxing favorites. That's an eight fifty here on the Morning Breeze.
Speaker 2 (20:53):
It's the Morning Breeze. It's Carolyn and Court. If you
were listening a few minutes ago, you heard Court talk
about his weekend where he left a rental car in
a church parking lot with a sign that said no parking.
Speaker 1 (21:07):
It was a permitted parking lot, by permit only. And
my my daughter Quinn, who's at the University of Oregon,
said just park there, Dad, It's okay. My friend doesn't
make it okay. It is a church park. It's a
church park. I wasn't comfortable with it, but then when
my wife was like, yeah, you'll be fine, it was
two against one. I can't.
Speaker 2 (21:25):
I don't even know the person I'm talking to right now.
We have a talkback on this off of our iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 4 (21:31):
You didn't get away with it in the parking at
the church parking because Jesus will always know that you
did that and eventually you'll have to confess that right him.
But you did good Court by confessing to all of us.
No one's perfect court. And Carolyn, you got a crazy
guy there.
Speaker 1 (21:51):
You are right about that.
Speaker 2 (21:52):
See Jesus was watching and he saw you park in
his parking lot.
Speaker 1 (21:56):
As I mentioned earlier, I did not feel good about it.
I didn't have as much fun that football game is.
I probably could have. Maybe that was the punishment. But
I feel better about it now because that I've confessed.
Speaker 2 (22:07):
Well, it's like he just said on that talkback, you
have confessed to the entire Bay area.
Speaker 1 (22:12):
I'll never do it again. Ever, I honestly don't think
you will.
Speaker 2 (22:15):
