Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Morning Breeze Morning on Demand. Let us get right
to it. We are so looking forward to revealing this
week's Morning Breeze Person of the Week. As I mentioned
a minute ago, we have received so many great nominations.
It was a hard choice, but I am so happy
with this week's choice.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (00:18):
So, Paula is our nominator and she nominated somebody very
special in her life, Gaetana, who is a special ed
teacher in Benetia.

Speaker 1 (00:26):
She goes by miss g So. Paula, what is your
relationship with Mss g So?

Speaker 2 (00:31):
She was the teacher for my daughter one year in
middle school, then she got transferred to the high school.
My daughter now is finally the high school and back
with her.

Speaker 4 (00:41):
Oh gosh.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
So, my daughter, you know, has special needs and she
has been amazing throughout deal. Was dealt with many teachers before,
and they're amazing because to me, a special needs teacher,
you have to be special, right sure, but she is
extra special because she really believes in them and she
helps us believe in their potation.

Speaker 4 (01:04):
Because we try to baby our kids, especially if she.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Has special needs. But she really shows parents that there
is a way and there is another future. And she
is so positive all the time, and she really believes
in us and the kids.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
You must have been so happy when your daughter moved
into high school and you found out, as you call her,
mss G, that she was going to be kind of
reunited with your daughter. I mean that must have been
such a weight off your shoulders.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
Oh definitely, there was the plan all along. When she
got moved, I said, Okay, one more year of middle
school and then we're back with Miss.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
D So cute.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
What I love about this is just you, you pointed
out Paula is not only is she teaching the kids
and helping them learn, but the parents are learning as
well how to better be better parents for their kids.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Oh yeah, and even once she moved to the high school,
she said, no matter what happens when Gabby gets out
of high school, I will help you guys find a way,
even if I'm not her teacher.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
Wow, that's special. We always talk about how special teachers
are on our show, but this is a great example
of how they do. They always go above and beyond.
We need to try and call her and get her
on with us.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Just give us a second.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
Hello, Hi, miss g. Yes, Hey, this is Carolyn and
Court from ninety eight point one The Breeze.

Speaker 4 (02:28):
Oh my gosh, Hi, good morning, Good morning.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
We also have Paula on the phone with us.

Speaker 5 (02:35):
Yes, hello, Paula.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Hi. So I nominated you to be the person of
the week. It's supposed to be about a person who
we think is making a difference in our community. And
I really believe that you do make a difference, and
I wanted you to have that honor.

Speaker 4 (02:56):
Keep callowing.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
You were so sweet.

Speaker 4 (03:00):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
She was telling about us about all that you do
for your students and beyond that, you just sound incredible.

Speaker 5 (03:09):
Okay, thank you.

Speaker 4 (03:10):
I don't know what to say.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
Paula talked about how not only are you encouraging your
students and the children to become their best selves, but
you're also pushing the parents to also see that possibility
in their own children.

Speaker 5 (03:24):
Yeah. Paula is one of the parents that has really
been there every step of the way since I came
to this new district, because she's just a battle force
for her daughter. And it was easy to just jump
right in and say, yep, and we can do so
much more.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
And I would imagine it makes such a difference when
the parents are involved.

Speaker 5 (03:43):
It does, but you can't look at parents as you know,
either a downfall. You know they do the best they can.
We are not given children with disabilities, so you know
those that are, I just believe they're saints and they
do the best that they can, and I just want
to help them no matter what their walk in life is,

(04:04):
no matter where they come from. You know they've been
given something way more challenging than.

Speaker 4 (04:08):
Most of us.

Speaker 5 (04:09):
So I just say if I can help them any way,
to support them, whether they are fully involved in their
children's lives or whether they're just doing the best they
can to put food on the table, whatever it is
for them and their family, I just want to be
there to support them from the parents' side.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
Not a lot of the times people see our kids
with their deciciencies, and Miss G sees those of their
possibilities and she tries to really talk to the parents
of all the possibilities that are out there for all
of our kids. Let mess the zach for special because
you know she also sees all the possibilities and try
to help us see them.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
That's incredible.

Speaker 4 (04:46):
Thank you so much. I love my job.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
So miss G, what we want to do for you
is we are going to award you brunch for two
courtesy of City Cruises. You're going to go out on
the bay. You're going to be on one of their
beautiful boats, and you're gonna eat some good breakfast, drink
some mimosas if you want, and just sail around the
bay and take a little time off.

Speaker 4 (05:05):
Oh my god, I don't think I've ever won anything.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
Well, it's time that you do.

Speaker 4 (05:13):
This is so exciting, pol thank you, Thank you very much.
Ninety eight point one.

Speaker 5 (05:19):

Speaker 5 (05:27):
I can sing all the words to all the songs.

Speaker 4 (05:29):
Oh oh, thank you so much. You much, so much.

Speaker 5 (05:33):
And Paul, is you so sweet to think of me.

Speaker 4 (05:37):
I'm just doing my job, you know. I'm just doing
what I love to do.

Speaker 5 (05:41):
I wanted to be a special ed teacher sinceeven is great,
so I'm just living my dream basically.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
That is so awesome. You are the best and so
deserving of this. So congratulations again.

Speaker 4 (05:52):
Thank you so much. Oh my gosh, I'm just sun.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
Well, we're happy to do it. Have a great day,
you guys.

Speaker 3 (05:58):

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
