Caroline McCardell and Court Johnson and Court. This being Teacher Appreciation Week, there
is a list that came out fromour friends at Cafe Mom who are talking
about the best ways that we canthank our teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week.

(00:22):
And I think there are some surpriseson this list. Yeah, it's really
interesting because you know, I reallythink teachers are underappreciated. I think a
lot of people would agree with that, and so little simple things that can
be done, not just this week, which again is Teacher Appreciations Week,
but man, it can be donethroughout the year. It's probably a good
thing to do. It's sort oflike my Valentine's Day theory, where I

(00:43):
feel like Valentine's Day shouldn't be celebratedon one day, it should be every
day. Sure, so when itcomes to your teachers, and this is
according to this list, what teachersare saying they would like food is at
the top of the list. Shesaid. She this teacher in particular always
loves it when parents offered to buyher lunch and enjoys being surprised with treats

(01:03):
like coffee or tea or a cookieor a cupcake. There we go.
I'm thinking about the lunch thing though. Are they showing up at the school
cafeteria is like, hey, letme buy you something there? No,
they want milk. Yeah, theywant pizza, a slice of pizza and
a milk or chess zombie and acoke. H No, they want lunch.
Lunch. Also school supplies, soyou come in, you offer a
gift card or some school supplies. That's super helpful, as we know a

(01:26):
lot of teachers end up buying theirown supplies. Oh yeah, so that's
on the list. And then therewas something from the heart, which I
love this. A handwritten note froma student goes a long way, or
even a parent, you know, just write a note and say thank you.
It totally does. Now I doknow, Carolyn, my school district
that my daughters go to actually hasa no gift policy in place. I'm

(01:48):
not exactly sure. I think theywant just that if there's going to be
gift giving, that it's done evenly, so they coordinate it through the PTA,
the parent association, so gift giftgiving can happen. But it's done
the organization so that you know,it's you know a little more. Even
we kind of ignored it, youknow, and there's a great teacher that
you want to appreciate. We alwaysdid it. But volunteering has always been

(02:09):
one of those things where I thinklike anybody can do. It doesn't cost
you anything but your time, andyou're there in the classroom, and I
think that's important. I saw thaton this list and they're talking about volunteering
where you come in and you staplepaper packets, or you make copies or
you cut out things for projects likethat helps teachers. So there are so
many different ways. It doesn't haveto be a financial contribution. It could

(02:30):
just be your time and that makesa difference. So great list. We're
going to share it on our Facebookpage at ninety eight one the Breeze.
If you're a teacher, thank youand happy National Teacher Appreciation Week. And
if there's something that you want toshare with the Breeze audience that you think,
you know would open some eyes likehey, actually we really need this
or we would like this or appreciatethis. Let us know again. Eight
