home from a well deserved cruise vacation. This is the story of Emily Rains

and her boyfriend Daniel Shifflet, whowere flying Southwest from Lauderdale back to BWI
when their medical experience was suddenly inhigh demand. So over the intercom they
hear one of the Southwest flight attendantssay, does anybody here have medical experience?

is an acute care nurse at theGreater Baltimore Medical Center. Shifflet was a
nurse for five years but now movedon into finance. But once you learned
something like you know, healthcare,take yeah, you don't forget it.
And so they encountered flight attendant attemptingcompressions on a man who was sitting in
his seat and that's when a Shifletwas like, you got to be on

a flat surface. Yeah, wegot this. Yeah. So they put
him on the floor and you knowthose aisles are super narrow, and they
started compressions. They used some ofthe metal equipment that was already on the
plane, and remarkably, after aboutfifteen minutes of this, they brought him
back. Heartbeat was sense. Theydeclared an emergency landed in Raleigh, where

the man was taken into medical careand has recovered from what we are told.
