Speaker 1 (00:01):
From Johnson Field Ows here in Menominee, Wisconsin. We welcome
you in to first round coverage of the NCAA Division
three Women's basketball Tournament. It's Game two of the night
of this uw Stown Monominee pod, pinning the UWS down
Blue Doubles, a twenty second team ranked team in the
country at nineteen and seven overall, taking on the winners

(00:22):
of the Midwest Conference, the Ripping College RedHawks.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
And twenty three and four on the season.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
Hello, everybody, peeknouncer with you here live courtside Frum Johnson Fieldhouse.
We are excited to bring you a game two of
our double dip today as the NCAA Tournament Division three
and both men's and women's basketball is well underway. And
as we note, there's a number of storylines coming into
this game. Stout playing against Rippin for the first time

(00:48):
in a couple of seasons. In fact, the first time
these two teams ever met was in the NCAA Tournament
all the way back in two thousand and five here
in Menominee. It's a great history between these two teams,
and another was Johnson School in Rippin taking onto Wisconsin
School in UW Stout game one of our day, Whitman
winning in a convincing fashion in their opening round game

(01:10):
against the UW Superior Yellowjackets seventy seven to fifty four.
Whitman is the fifth ranked team in the bracket overall,
so basically a two seed if you are following the
Division one kind of a seating system, they'd be a
two seed in this so they will take on the
winner of this game. They looked really good winning seventy
seven to fifty four over Superior, so we get set

(01:31):
for tonight's game between Stout and Rippin. Stout lost in
the semi final of the YAK Tournament. However, five different
teams got into the tournament in women's basketball from the
WIAC and right now they are one in one is
UW Stevens Point just lost a heartbreaker at Wartburg, but
UW Lacrosse beat a pretty good Colorado college team by over.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
Twenty points in their opening round matchup.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
Stout, Whitewater, and Oshkosh are all late night affairs, including
this one here from Johnson Field. Howse, Stout has led
by their All American guard in Reagan Sorenson, a senior
from Unity High School. She's twenty second in the NCAA
and field goals shooting percentage at fifteen four percent, use
first in the YAK in that category, and got named
to the WAYAK First Team for the third straight season

(02:16):
after being an honorable mention in her freshman campaign. Anna
Much and Amanda Geeson are also first team All WYAK
Members team members. Lexie Wagner, the transfer from Division one
Youngstown State, is an honorable mention this year, and Sam
Schaeffer is on the All Defensive team out of the WIAC.
So the starting lineup has all yak accolades all over it,

(02:38):
certainly coming into this game. On the other side, for Rippin,
what do we got? While we have the Midwest Conference
College Basketball Player of the Year the last two.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
Seasons in La ten Pass.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
La ten Pass is thirty six in the nation in
rebounding with ten point four points the game. She averages
a double double, fourteen point one score and ten point
four rebounds basketball game. Now, there's a number of other
really good pieces to this team as well, including Laney
have Loowitz, who is an All Team All MWC first teamer,

(03:10):
as well a second teamer in Haley van Horn, who
adds to that particular pedigree for this Ripping team that
won the Midwest Conference. But unlike the wyak ITTs, a
one bid league, their closest next team in the NPI
the NCAA Power Index in that conference you have to
go down to the one and thirty eighth spot to
final Lawrence College and then Grinnell at one forty nine.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
So they come from a leaguer conference, no doubt about that.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
But the Blue Devils have been challenged by teams of
their pedigree. The Lacrosse the River Falls is those kind
of teams. So this is going to be a battle
here tonight. This gym is packed, it is ready to go.
Whitman fans have hung around. Number of superior fans have left,
so the stands behind us have emptied out a bit.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
But it should be a lot of fun here tonight.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
All right, We will had a chance to talk to
Hannah Iverson before the game to talk about what this means.
After getting to the sweet sixteen last year's NCAA Tournament,
they want a chance to get back there again. Gonna
be a tough road to start here against Ripping. So
let's hear what coach Hannah Iverson had to say, Kenna
Iverson now joins us as we get set for Round
one of the NCAA Tournament here against Ripping and coach,

(04:14):
we appreciate taking some time with us here and all right,
you have eight days off since your last game as.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
You get ready for today.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
You know, I know no one ever wants to lose
right their YAC tournament or NCAA tournament game.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
But having those eight days is that given your team
a little bit.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
Of a sense of one rest, but also a chance
to kind of refocus and kind of you know, focus
in on the big prize, which was you know, getting
this bid into the NCAA tournament.

Speaker 4 (04:39):
Yeah, I think, I mean, you hate to find the
silver lin and things, but I think you're right. It
did give us a lot of time to get back
and get healthy, plenty of time to get mentally refocused.
I think we feel like we've got a good picture
looking at Ripping of what they do just with having
more prep than you know you ever have in the
middle of the year. But I think a ton more
than that. I think a lot of it isn't physical
from here on now, like you're going to have phenomenal athletes,

(05:02):
You're gonna have great coach teams. You're going to have
people who are used to winning, and a ton of
it comes down to the mental piece of it and
just the ability to give more, do more for longer.
And I think that piece for us was really a
part we were kind of focusing on over this break
of just like there's not a ton of time left here,
like let's give everything we got.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
Obviously, I know you guys are focused on tonight, but
I'll ask just one question is to come from a
prep standpoint, because I think it's really interesting how you
guys do it. But obviously got coach Olston, Coach Fanning,
what do you do to prep knowing that you might
have to play in twenty four hours and you might
have to get ready for a Whitman or you might
have to get ready for Superior. To split that up,
how exactly does that kind of kind of work?

Speaker 4 (05:38):
Yeah, I mean the nice thing having already faced Superior
this year that scout is we had that scout on hand,
and that can be a much quicker get through here
for us. But Coach Olson's got the next game here,
so she's got Whitmen and Superior, And like I said,
we had the superior scout pretty done, so her and
I kind of worked on that on Monday pretty hard,
and we practiced against the Whitman things and this perior

(06:01):
things on Monday, and then from there on out we're
focused on the game right in front of us. So
that's kind of all we've done with that. Obviously from
a coaching staff perspective, we've done plenty more, but for
our player's perspective, that was the only piece of our
next step that they've seen is that Monday. And for us,
the nice thing about what we do in a situation
like an NCAA tournament is we're not a heavy scout

(06:22):
team are We're not a jack of all trades.

Speaker 5 (06:25):
We're a master of what we do.

Speaker 4 (06:27):
So we don't change a ton of our defensive system,
we don't change our offense.

Speaker 5 (06:30):
We don't scheme a ton.

Speaker 4 (06:32):
We do what we do, and so it's nice from
the prep standpoint, and we don't have a ton of
time for a team like us.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
Last year it was down to Carol Right for the
opening round and Whitewater for the Sweet six team. But
being that you're the host this here and you're at home,
what's what's been the difference in prep for you all,
And do you like that in comparison with going on
the road and being in a hotel and being on
the bus and that kind of thing.

Speaker 4 (06:55):
Yeah, I mean anytime we get to play in front
of our fans on our home court, we like it.
I think it definitely does change a little bit of
just the awe of at all of you know, going
to a place and staying in a hotel and seeing
all the signs everywhere and checking out the facilities and
all of that. So the nice thing is these guys,
a lot of these guys on the squad right now,
they did that.

Speaker 5 (07:15):
So we got a chance to do that.

Speaker 4 (07:16):
And now we get a chance to do this and
play some really big, fun march games in front of
our people on our home court.

Speaker 5 (07:22):
And so we love it. We're we're just find seeing that.

Speaker 4 (07:25):
NC double at logo in our gym, and I think
it's a thing that we're really proud of.

Speaker 5 (07:28):
We're honored.

Speaker 4 (07:29):
I mean, I think it's hard at Division three to
decide who gets to host these things because so much
of it is just dollar base and I think everybody
you know finds a reason to be frustrated about it.
In some capacity, and you know, yeah, we're glad it's here,
but we understand, I mean, women have a phenomenal team.
They put together a great season, and should they have
had an opportunity to do maybe, but we don't decide that.

(07:50):
So we are just glad to show up on our
home court and put together a product we're really proud of.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
You get to control the things that you can control,
and that team tonight is rip and so tell us
a little bit about them. They've obviously got a lot
of success in their conference. They've got the conference player
of the year, which you're probably gonna if you keep
going going to face the conference player of the year
whoever you're planning as we move on. But what do
they do well and what do you got to do
to shut them down tonight?

Speaker 4 (08:15):
Yeah, they're a phenomenal team. I think they're they're a
team that's used to winning. They're a team that plays
really hard, they're super scrappy. I mean, they've got some
big time players. Obviously you kind of mentioned them, but
they've they've got some nice pieces around them too, and
I think maybe more importantly, they're really well coached. I mean,
they've got great x's and O's they've got a good plan.
They've got a really nice system that they run and

(08:37):
how they carry it out.

Speaker 5 (08:38):
And for us.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
I mean, we need to control the tempo of the game,
which is I think always on our radar of how
we're successful. We got to keep them off the O boards.
They get a ton of second chance points, chance points,
and we need to take care of the basketball. And
the nice thing too, is you talk about it with anything,
is control the things you can control. The nice thing
about taking care of the O boards is you get
a body in front of them, you got a pretty
good chance to keep that rebound. And taking care of

(09:01):
the basketball. I think that's the thing that when we've
done well, we're hard to play against, and especially we
don't have as many shots as we've had before. We
had to retool this team with so many people hurt,
and so our ability to take care of the basketball
now becomes more apparent than it has.

Speaker 5 (09:17):
In the past.

Speaker 4 (09:18):
When we've got seventy five plus possession games and now
we lower that a little bit. And it's just just
being sound, but it also plays into just the energy
of these games. You know's a ton of it is
just not making the moment bigger than it is and
just kind of shrinking the size of those things. And again,
I think that's one of the purpose of having a
team that's been there, done that is now it's just

(09:38):
another game. It's not this huge whatever. It's just another game.
And I think that's how we have to approach every game. Possession, time, out, play,
whatever it is. It's just another step. And I think
and if we're able to do that, I think we
can put together a great product and Rippins a phenomenal team.

Speaker 5 (09:55):
I think it'll be a fun game, all.

Speaker 3 (09:57):
Right, looking forward to it. We appreciate you taking the
time as always, and.

Speaker 6 (10:00):
Good luck tonight.

Speaker 3 (10:01):
Thanks pet that's Anna Iverson. We'll have more when we
come back, and welcome.

Speaker 1 (11:01):
Back in here to Johnson Field now says, we get
set for basketball between Ripman College and UW Stout South,
the twenty second ranked team in the country. They finished
in the NBI twenty third and they get to host
because if you wonder why they got to the host,
if you've not been with us for the first game
of our doubleheader tonight with Whitman defeating UW Superior. Whitman

(11:24):
the fifth overall seed in the tournament this year. How
does Stout get to host if they're the twenty third
basically overall seed in this tournament. Well Whitman of course
in Wallahwalla, Washington has to have three teams fly to it,
and Division III there's only a certain number of flights
allocated with the budgets and everything like that. So instead
of fly three teams to Whitman, it was fly Whitman

(11:46):
to one place where everybody could drive to and that
includes Rippman and Superior. They can get here via the
bus and that ends up benefiting Stout quite a bit to.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
Get to host here this weekend.

Speaker 1 (11:56):
And so that's why we are here in Menominee and
happy to have you along with us here on the
NCAA Sports Network. A special thanks to Ben Tierman, Nard
director up top, making you giving you all the sights
and sounds here today from Johnson Field House. All right,
let's get you to the starting lineups for both teams again.
UW Stout nineteen and seven overall finished second in the
regular season in the YAX, behind the uw Osh Gosh Titan.

(12:19):
Sam Shaffer is a senior from DeForest. You will start
five foot nine, averaging four point two points a game.
Amanda Geeson starts, a senior from New Proug, Minnesota, five
eleven there and twelve point two points a game for
her on the season. Reagan Storings and the All American,
his third in the league in scoring sixteen point seven
a game, was injured earlier this year for five games.
She starts as well. Anna Much, a five eight senior
from Apple Valley, will start. Thirteen points a game for

(12:41):
her and Lexi Wagner, the record holder for most threes
in the game she got earlier this year against UW
player twelve point nine points a game for her. She
starts as well for Hannah Iverson at our seventh season
oneh eight and sixty one in her time at the
Helm of the Blue Devils. Ripping College RedHawks are led
by Lauren who's a lockey in her twelfth season at

(13:01):
the Helm of the RedHawks one eighty two and one five.
Lenny hew have Lovitz will start. She is a five
to three software from wild Rose, Wisconsin. Carson Nelson also starts,
a five foot eight freshman from Cottage Grove, Wisconsin, six
point four points a game for her. Natalie rau Wolt
will start as well. Five foot eight junior from Madison

(13:21):
Memorial averaging seven point four points per game. Ella ten
Pass is the player to watch here for the RedHawks.
Five eleven ford and senior from Lusburg, Wisconsin. A Wisconsin
Lutheran transfer, she was fourth in the Midwest Conference in
scoring with fourteen point one points per game. She's also
twenty third in the NCAAA with thirteen double doubles on

(13:42):
the season. She gets to the line a lot. That's
going to be part of the strategy for the RedHawks today.
Haley van Horn is the final starter five to eleven
freshmen for Fredonia, Wisconsin as well, and an All MWC
second teamer this season. Ripping with no common opponent's toe
UW is stout this season, so hard to compare from that.

(14:03):
We know the WYAK overall has been a stronger conference,
but nonetheless it is gonna be a fun one here
this evening. We will probably talk through the starting lineup
series things happen. You can take in the sights and
sounds as you hear them. They'll shut the lights off
and introduce both teams one out of time, or.

Speaker 2 (14:21):
I should say, back and forth is how they work
it in the NCAA Tournament.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
No national anthem that was played during the first game,
So we're gonna jump right into things here from the
NCAA Tournament. A quick look across the NCAA tournament in
this bracket the bottom right quadrant here in the NCAA Tournament. Again,
Whitman advancing here plays a winner of this game. Lacrosse
will play the winner of Whitewater in Principia, and Whitewater

(14:46):
is already up twenty two to six in the first
quarter of that game, so it looks like you might
have an all YAK matchup there. In the round of
thirty two, Carnegie Mellon is gonna advance. They're gonna play
the winner of Johns Hopkins and Saint Joseph out of Connecticut,
and Bates has already advanced. They're going to play Scranton
in the second round because Scranton's up ninety to thirty
five right now with a minute twenty eight left to
go in their game, so it's gonna be a fun one.

(15:08):
Has come the starting lineups announced and as you can hear,
that's Sam Shafer getting announced and it is a very,
very packed crowd.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
It was a white out here for the students.

Speaker 1 (15:18):
Two hundred student vouchers given away to the first two
hundred students who could pick them up free tickets basically,
if you will, for those students fought for by the
athletic department here for UW. Stoutz to make sure that
they could fill the seats and get everybody out. And
we've got a full student section and a pretty full

(15:39):
crowd where the superior fans were sitting. It's a little
bit sparse behind our table here, but nonetheless it is
going to be a fun one here from Johnson field
House tonight, and the winner of this game takes on.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
Whitmen, the five overall seed in the conference for in
the tournament.

Speaker 1 (15:55):
Rather as we get ready for basketball here today, Cossuming
announced the starting lineups here as we said, it'll be
shafferd Geson, Sowrens and much wagnered p stout have Lovitz, Nelson, Raw,
wulf ten Pass and Van Horne for a ripe. See

(16:16):
A lot of folks out for monominated in high school
as well are rooting on Mary Berg and not on
the starting lineup. But the freshman form nominee is Seanna
Much introduced Ana Much. How about this. She is in
her fifth season playing for Stout and she played the
COVID season, has an extra year of eligibility, so finishing
that up here, Anna much interestingly enough, had never been

(16:39):
named to the first team in the YAX. She'd been
honorable mention for four straight years, including the Newcomer of
the Year back in the COVID season, and finally made
the first team this year.

Speaker 2 (16:51):
How about that?

Speaker 1 (16:53):
Surprised when I looked atys that she's made the first
team before? Nope, she had wild, absolutely wild all right?
Ready for basketball? Have to have you along with us
here on the NC double A Sports Network in the
NC DOUBLEA Hub. If you are having friends, make sure
they know where to get us, where to find us
there at NCAA dot Com relatively easy to get to.
So if you're with us, you found us, make sure

(17:14):
your friends found us too. Give him a call, give
it text, let him know it's gonna be great. It
can be a lot of fun here tonight. Your officials
for this second game of the pod is Matt Andrews
in the middle. Jody Duppy along with Nicholas Peck are
the officials here from tonight's game. Media on hand folks
from D three hoops dot Com had a chance to
catch up with Riley Zais talking about the bracket. I

(17:37):
think he likes stouts chances in this game as a much.
Lets us know it's game time and he likes stouts chances. However,
this Ripping team is no joke and this is gonna
be a tough one here, and I expect this to
be a close one throughout most of it. Students are
on their feet. Here we go from Johnson Fieldhouse as

(17:59):
Regan Sorens get set to take the tip with the
five to eleven, Haley van Horn giving up four inches,
ball in the air and we are underway and it's
one by Ripping. Oh what a nice catch there out
of the tip there looking for rigging'storns and then they
she tipped it right to him Van Horn in the
short corner, cross courts near side to ten pass up top,
good ball movem in here to start. Have Lobis out

(18:20):
on the left wing. Look at Anna much right up
in her business. Now they go in the corner to
ten pass, ten pass loses it, so on aworry buy
Sam Schaffer and here come the blue Devils the other way.
Shafer a gonna hand it off to Anam Much who's
going to kind of run the point here. Now hands
off to Sam Shaffer on the left wing, and that
cross court pass goes right block to Soarings and catches
down there. But wasn't square it up. It's Lexi Wagner

(18:41):
for three from the right wing, and the Blue Devils
have a great start. Three nothing Wagner shooting forty eight
percent from beyond the arc. That is first in the
WIAC and she is, for my money, easily the best
three point shooter in the yact is this is deflected
out of bounds on the baseline and ripping. We'll get
the ball back here. Three zips out, nine, twelve to

(19:02):
go here in the first quarter, imbounds coming for van Horn, still.

Speaker 2 (19:09):
Looking nobody getting open.

Speaker 1 (19:10):
They'll have to move it out to ten pass ten
pass around to have Lovitz in the right corner of
van Horn. Van Horn looking to drive instead to have Lovitz.
They're trying to post up ten pass inside, great denial
inside by Lexi Wagner. It's have Lovitz out on the
right wing. Six to shoot step back three on the way.
That is too strong right down an Anna Geson Geson
up to Anna much in transition out to the right wing.

Speaker 2 (19:31):
Little hesitation step offer Sam Schaeffer on the wing.

Speaker 1 (19:33):
Schaefer kicks it across the Geeson on the left wing,
she'll be guarded by ten passer and mana man defense
Wagner at the top. Wagner steps into a three. How
about it.

Speaker 2 (19:41):
No, it's off the side.

Speaker 1 (19:42):
Maybe not quite as square it up as she wanted
to be. There was a little further away from the
bucket than she'd like. Rebound ripping three nothing though, but
there's a steal. Bad pass through the hands of Nelson
and Anna. Munch has the basketball into the right wing,
enters it into Reagan's sorens, and then the block goes
up off the window. Yes too, contact have Lovitz five
nothing stout eight twenty to go here in the first

(20:05):
good start for the blue doubles.

Speaker 2 (20:06):
Here tonight off on the right for ripping.

Speaker 1 (20:11):
It's have Lovitz now up the top of the key
here between the circles, calling out, wants van Horn to
move up high right. She'll hand off on a weave
on the right to rau Wolf off on the left side.
They isolate here. Now kick it on the right a
short two pointer for van Horn too strong, but it's
a rebound for ten pass. Ten pass on the left
block double team puts it on the deck, spins as
she travel. Yes, she did, and it's a turnover. And

(20:37):
there go the students doing their nice little Irish jig
over there in the students section seven forty five to
go first quarter five nothing south pad pass from Amanda
Geeseon immediately stolen away by ten pass. Can be hard
to outlet the attack. I'll move it up with have
Loovitz find ten pass into the lane. Anna munch was there,
steps around her, misses the layoff and a rebound for

(20:59):
Lexi Wagner anamuch to just enough to put off that
layup and the Blue Devils have it back.

Speaker 2 (21:03):
Here's Sam Shaffer.

Speaker 1 (21:04):
Shaper enters it into sore Ands Sorens some pressure from
van Horn from behind out to Wagner. Ball fake from
three drives right side of the lane, kicks it to
Shaffer in the corner. Shafer weaves it out to the
wing out to Anna much good job putting her body
in front of Nelson, spins at the free throw line,
back off to Wagner. She catches, shoots threes. She's fouling
one a four point play opportunity. Poorla Blue Devils. They

(21:25):
late hate nothing. With seven fourteen to go in the
first Lexee Wagner man if her confidence is up, watch
out at Lista. Lodermeyer, Mary Byrd checking in. Pardon, it'll
be Rosella. It's a little confusion here, Rosella.

Speaker 2 (21:44):
Willie and Mary Berg are in.

Speaker 1 (21:46):
Lodermeyer is waiting for Lexie Wagner, and there's a time
out taken by ripping time out, ripping seven fourteen to
go here in the first quarter.

Speaker 2 (21:56):
They gave us an extra horn.

Speaker 1 (21:58):
I don't think we're taking immediate I'm out, just a
thirty second timeout, so it lets us discuss what's happened
so far. Some people are sitting down, other people are
standing up. But I don't think they've turned this into
immedia timeout of folks. So we're going to keep it
here for the time being. Seven fourteen to go here

(22:19):
in the first and now they are sitting down, so
it does look like the media timeout. All right, Well,
now we finally figured things out. I guess we're gonna
keep it here. We'll blow through this break, guys and
keep it here. Ben Determan is fighting through it up
there as I give him weird directions on the air,
but nonetheless, an eight nothing lead here, fir stout to start,

(22:40):
as it has been impressive so far, three of four
from beyond the arc. They've given Wagner the free throw
in the system already, but it is just an eight
nothing lead, nonetheless, so I want to make sure I
wasn't seeing things, but that is the case. And take
a look around again the NCAA tournament that's going on

(23:01):
with the wayak Whitewater leading thirty three to ted over
Principia and uw oshkosh is in a battle. They've got
a really, really tough pod there. Bethel won over to
Pass seventy one to sixty five earlier tonight, and oshkosh
Is up just sixteen to fifteen on Calvin. Calvin's a
team that Stout beat the first game of the season
by over thirty points. They had thirty four in the

(23:23):
first quarter. Did Stout in that game, and it was
pretty impressive. And then of course that was when the
injury bud kind of jumped up and bit the Blue
Devils for the most of the non conference season. As
we are backed and ready for free throws so off
we go. Stout up eight to nothing. Here on Rippin
in the first round of the NCAA tournament about with

(23:44):
Whitman tomorrow on the line.

Speaker 2 (23:48):
You hear the band in the background.

Speaker 1 (23:49):
Rippin's band has made the trip from southern Wisconsin as
LuxI Wagner is at the line. Wagner, we'll make the
first the only free throw and eighty free throw shooter
is not a player that you can follow off and
Lit's a loader myral check. In course, you got three
subs in the game right now for Stout, and I
believe all the starters have stayed out there for ripping.

(24:09):
So it's the first five against just two of the
first five for Stout. Mary Berg, the ME nominee Mustang,
is in the game. Here there's a deflection from Sorenson
reading that pass into van Horn right under the bucket
and she deflects it out of bounds. Twenty to shoot
seven on three left to go, first quarter, Stout up
nine to nothing and bounds out Roseulla Willie almost getting

(24:30):
a tip and a steel there ten pass up at
the top of the key.

Speaker 2 (24:32):
Ten pass puts it on the deck and it's Loder.

Speaker 1 (24:34):
Mayren ties it up not a reaching bould to tie
up and the arrow gives it to Stout. How about that.
Look at this reach in there by Loder Myrons. She
did right on top of them. I don't think she
ever really touched her arm. That is wow. No argument
either from ripping. Wow. That is a heck of a
defensive play. And Sorenson had it deflected away. Nelson just
bodied up and got the steal. The layup goes the

(24:56):
other way nine to two Stout. Really nice play from
person Nelson. Six point forty two left to play here
in the first quarter. Freshman ball handling the here for
Stout and mary Berg hands off to Anna Much on
the left wing and she goes to Riggingsorrenson spins off
the window. No, mary Berg fights for the rebound. Sorenson
then gets it on the baseline. She hangs and pops
misses off the heel, still batting around. I think they're
gonna get Sorenson for a foul here too aggressive. It

(25:19):
was physical before that foul, and this is where you're
gonna get the foul on her area. I definitely got
the arm, but boy, it was getting physical before that
as well. And this has the feeling of that ripping. Again,
come from the Midwest Conference. They play a physical brand.
But when you play a Yak team, I mean the
physicality and the yact might not be matched. Yeah, They're

(25:41):
gonna feel it, and I'm sure Stout's gonna feel it
here today as well.

Speaker 2 (25:45):
Nine to two.

Speaker 1 (25:45):
Stout with the lead six twenty to go. First quarter
off on the right side, Nelson and the Geese and guards.
They go inside a ten pass. Ten pass, guarded by
Willie kicks it across in the left corner. Have Lobit's
catches thought about the three Animuch picks her up defensively
inside they go almost own away. Ten pass collects it
out it comes for a three from the left corner.
No Amana geese with the rebound is Farney and a

(26:06):
Farney into the game. Senior from winn A. Connie misses.
Here's geeseon all the way to the hoop. Stops in
the lane, has to go up top shot No good,
no foll either in.

Speaker 2 (26:13):
Ten pass gets the rebound outlets to have Lovitz.

Speaker 1 (26:17):
Have Lovitz into the lane guarded by Mary Bird stops
he's trying to spin. Instead goes out to Nelson. Nelson
puts it on the deck almost traveled with it. Kick
it around now left wing Farney Farney to the lane
up top, it's have Lovitz. Havelovitz gets the screen fourteen
to shoot Sto a lot of time. She moves into
the short corner, back off her ten pass at the
elbow ten pass with the Jays in and out rebound,
Willie and the Blue Devils have it back nine to

(26:39):
two Stout five twenty six to go. First quarter. Hanna
much out on the right wing, nobody getting open yet.
It's Amanda Geese up top a round olyssa Lonermyer loder
Meyer reached in on there by havev Loovitz and now
Anna Mutch with the shoulder fake dribbles to the left
side of lane, spins lost her defender off the window. Yes,
Barney goes down there on that spin. Move from much

(27:01):
eleven to two. Blue Devils five o four to go
first quarter. Have a little bits across the timeline slowing
it down here for ripping. They do not want to
play this up and down pace. It looks like Willie
trying to stop a post up past to ten pass.
They go off top instead for a three that's off
the mark much then had it poked out of bounds.
It's either a foul, it's too ball, and it is

(27:23):
stell basketball. As Barney came in to deflect that one.
It's a good job denying inside thereby Mosella Willie into
ten pass. She's gonna be important for Stole if they
want to make a run and get out of this
first weekend.

Speaker 2 (27:35):
She's got to be good.

Speaker 1 (27:39):
Or forty two to go here in the first quarter
Blue Doubles with an eleven to two lead, and Sam
Schaeffer brings across the timeline. How about that flash with
the hoop from Lexi Wagner from the right wing got
behind her defender. The pass was open, the layup was easy.
It's thirteen to two Blue Doubles. We're twenty five to
go here in the first and it's it's been all

(28:00):
stout so far. Ripping looking for the answer around left
side to Farney, Farney guarded by Geeson to the elbow
to ten past ten fast hands it off to Farney
in a reach in foul called I think on Geeson
here or Willy Yeah, it's geesee, you know, the out
of bounds to Ripping before thirteen to go in the
first quarter. The time out again was taken early in

(28:20):
this quarter turned into a media timeout. So it's gonna
be a little bit of a ways here until you
get that end of the first quarter break for these teams.

Speaker 2 (28:28):
So the condition is going to have to be up
there now.

Speaker 1 (28:30):
Stout's had eight days off after losing on that Thursday
night last week to Whitewater at home.

Speaker 2 (28:36):
Is a two seed and Whitewater is a three seat.

Speaker 1 (28:37):
Whitewater went on to win the Wyatt Conference Championship get
the auto bid. They were in. Anyway, nice pass off
on the right side from Nelson and it's finished office
time by van Horn for the layup thirteen to four.
Stout leads, how about another Wagner three, no way, that's
off on an air ball and Willie will be able
to get there out of bounds. Thirteen to four. Stout
three point fifty eight to go here in the first

(29:00):
That one felt like Wagner took it a little bit
too far out there and just wasn't ranged upright. Wagner
two of four from beyond the arc to start the game,
and a left corner here for ripping. That's raw Wolf
for crassper pass is deflected by Alissa Lodermeyer. Out of bounds,
stays with Ripping with eighteen to shoot in three forty
five left. In the first thirteen to four Stout, you're

(29:22):
in Menominee Stout getting to a host kind of through circumstance,
but they're taking it. You can't control that kind of stuff.
Which you can control is winning at home. And there's
a lost dribble and Mary Berg gets a steal. Berg
up to Wagner. Wagner gets some pressure here from Farney
Nice moved from Wagner. There's a reach and gotta be
a foul. They didn't call it there. It's off to
berg Berg. Now off for Willy on the left wing.

(29:44):
Willie had it stolen away, and a jump ball's gonna
get called here. Look, we get to the NCAA tournament,
officials are going to be a little bit less willing
to call those ticky tack fouls. You gotta play through
some contacts, You get to play through the aggression that
a team has. And Rippin's kind of turned it up
a little bit of a notch here, and so Stout's
got a match that thirteen to four Stout with the

(30:04):
lead three twenty five left, to play in the first
ripping with the ball on the alternate possession, Mackenzie Best store.

Speaker 2 (30:11):
Over on the right wing.

Speaker 1 (30:12):
Now into the game from Lavelle, Wisconsin. Here's a drive
right side from Van Horn on the baseline. Threw it
out of mound stout basketball three thirteen to go here
in the first stout up thirteen to four on ripping.
There's sub Vanessa Solano, a senior from Milwaukee and Martin
Luther High School. We'll check into the game four ripping.

(30:33):
Let's see Solano best story Farney and you got van
Horn and Nelson in there. At the moment here for
the RedHawks, Anna Much at the top of the key,
Adam Much got bumped. This is before a shot. Hope
whoa Hopefully our everybody okay is Anna Much went flying in.
You see the initial two hands there. They didn't call

(30:55):
it initially, and then best Or reached again, and then
they call it and then you see a mess of
bodies going down there and luckily everybody okay, so stout
out of bounds three h two to go here in
the first quarter on the baseline, trying to get it
in here to Ana Macho. They got together Willy and
much both got open and they were both open on
the block and it was kind of between the two
of them and they went off their legs out of bounds.

(31:15):
It's back to Ripping and his turnover number four from Stout.
Six turnovers already by Ripping two doubles.

Speaker 2 (31:25):
Have nine from Lexi. Wagner up thirteen to four off
on the right side. This is Solano.

Speaker 1 (31:31):
Her passing the post is deflected by Willie and stolen
by Wagner.

Speaker 2 (31:34):
Man she carried it, called it carry.

Speaker 1 (31:37):
Wagner kind of picked it up, wanting to outlet the
pass and then realized nobody was there and tried to
make tried to see if no one saw it, and
unfortunately for her, Pickolas Pack did and it's a turnover
to the blue doubles.

Speaker 2 (31:49):
Her turnover to Ripping. Excuse me, two forty five to
go here in the first stop thirteen ripping four.

Speaker 1 (31:56):
Ripping comes into this game on a fourteen game winning streak,
lost since January.

Speaker 2 (32:02):
Eighth, twenty twenty five.

Speaker 1 (32:04):
Here back against Grennell as a road game as well.
Between the wheels. This is have Loovitz. Nice job by
Sam Shafer, got a reflection and then a back cord violation.
I believe yes, it was that cord violation and Stout
will get the turnover back. There's a little sloppy here
last couple of minutes. You'd like to see somebody kind
of settle in and run their offense as Alison Letcher

(32:26):
is gonna check in for Mary Byrd. Didn't see Alison Letcher.
Last couple games for Stout Senior from Wynda, Minnesota. Sam
Shaefer gets the inbound have Loovitz is all over here
across the timeline. She go to Willy out on the
right wing. Willie shows the ball, now goes to Wagner
up top. They are really face guarding everybody here, ripping
right up in the business. Letcher on the left wing,

(32:47):
good three point shooter. Willy skips it across right side
here to Anna Much Anna much left elbow.

Speaker 2 (32:52):
Ana Much hesitates to the.

Speaker 1 (32:53):
Hoop with the left hand.

Speaker 2 (32:54):
What a move.

Speaker 1 (32:58):
Fifteen to four Stout two ten to go here in
the first quarter, have Lovitz poked away by shaper not
a steel though she stays with it and grabs it
off on the right wing to Selano. Solano is thirty
nine three point shooter on the season. Didn't take it
though Willie gets a deflection and ten pass, loses it
out of bounds, but last touched by Willy on the baseline.

(33:20):
Fifteen to four Stout and stays with Rippin, but only
twelve to shoot and one fifty six left to play
here in the first quarter, Stout by eleven trying to
get something out of the inbounds here Much almost gets
to that ball to steal at Solano receives the inbounds
pass hand out to have Lovitz eight to shoot at
the top of the key. Crosses over on Letcher with
the right hand. That's short and will He with the

(33:41):
rebound for Stout. Stell wants to outlet it, but they're
not going to have numbers. Sam Shaffer into the front court,
finds Much out on the left wing up top to Wagner.
Wagner on the deck back too Much on the left
wing again gets a screen from Wagner. Much takes a
bump there from van Horn Much to the right block
out of poked away out. It goes to Shafer Shaeffer
ball bake from three in the lane back on the
left side Letcher, she was open now She takes the three,

(34:03):
followed that one oh by a four point play chance
again for the Blue Devils, and it was called the
three on the court.

Speaker 2 (34:16):
I don't think they're gonna look at it.

Speaker 1 (34:17):
They mind if the next dead ball, but that's an
eighteen to four lead per Stout and Alison Letcher, who
is not played the last three games for the Blue Devils,
back into the lineup a great three point shooter for
Stout and she hits and gets fouled. Eighteen to four
Blue Doubles with one twenty three left to go in

(34:38):
the first and it is Letcher at the line and
that is good sixty six percent on the season. And
my favorite thing about a Letcher shot, it's a knuckleball.
It has no spin on it and it just falls
right through the net beautifully. Six or nineteen to four
Blue Doubles lead one sixteen to go. Here in the
first quarter, mary Berg pressures have Loab, it's out high
wind and the left have Lovitz crosses over into the

(34:59):
lane right hand and runner off the last two strong
offensive rebound van Horn and van Horn has pushed over
I think by Letcher. See who they get the call
on yet Letcher is the foul. Third foul on Stout
in the quarter, third on three on ripping as well
out of bounds of the RedHawks on the baseline in
the front court. One O six to go here in
the first inbounds comes in the right short corner, Solano

(35:22):
has it, skips it across her right to Letcher. What
a catch interception from Letcher up to Shaeffer. Shaffer trying
to outlet the Much keeps it in bounds over on
that sideline. Much gets Selano all up in her business,
loses or takes the two. Oh they called her for
a charge. Oh my, she got a smile on her face.
She says, it's a flop. You don't see the contact there.

(35:44):
It was a late call from Nicholas Pack, but it
was right before that. On the replay as we take
a look back on it be where the contact happened,
and they say that not only should did she ditch
her defend her, but she also.

Speaker 2 (35:59):
Did it offensive foul away.

Speaker 1 (36:01):
And so now we're gonna get our first chance to
see Madison Mallica, the freshman from Savage, Minnesota Burnsville High
School the end of the game for the Blue Levels.
She was big early in the season when Stout was
riddled with injuries. Hasn't played a ton in the conference season.
Here's a crossover from Havelovitz and a hand check foul
called on Stout. That's a fifth on the blue levels,
so it's gonna be two shots coming up here for

(36:21):
ripping nineteen to four Blue Devils, forty point nine to
go here in the first and what you see right
now is Hannah Iverson rotating some players in.

Speaker 2 (36:30):
One of the things to think about tonight is.

Speaker 1 (36:32):
You've got the late game and you've got Whitman who's
gonna have a couple hours of rest. Extra is that
free throw is good from havev Loovitz, and with that,
you've got to kind of manage your bench a little
bit and try to get some of your starters out
so that they're fresh tomorrow again.

Speaker 2 (36:52):
But y' also had balance.

Speaker 1 (36:53):
The idea of you need to get there is hev
Loovitz makes a second, So nineteen to six. Now Stout
leads forty point nine left to play here in the core,
probably not enough time to get a two for one,
so South's just gotta have a good possession here. The
Sam Shaffer takes some pressure from have Lobitz into the
front court. Have Lowitz already as a foul, but she
is still being aggressive up top. Sam Schaeffer goes to

(37:14):
Malik at the top of the key. Malik out of
the hoop, takes contact, no call off the window. Not there. Well,
that's last touch by a ripping. Oh no, that was
last off of ripping off the leg. I don't know
if they can go back to a to a screen
to review that. That was clearly last touch by ripping.
I mean, that's not even close. I'm not sure if
they can review that or not. Ma Seut could take

(37:34):
a time out to review it. If it was a
good review, they'd get it back. But I'm not sure
you want to burn that this early in the game.
But that was one that was pretty clearly off of ripping.
Twenty four point four to go here in the first
and they will not look at it. So nineteen to
six stunt with the lead ripping with the basketball, have
Lobitz into the forecourt regarded by Mary Bird screen given

(37:56):
there by Van Horn throws it away. Oh no, it
was tip by Slodermeyer and then a foul called on
loner Myer. Foul on loner Meyer. Raou Wulf was the
one who got her body in the way. As we
take a look at the replay here, not a lot.
I mean there is a push there. Loner Meyer though
just going for a loose ball ended up. Rowolf just
got to it first and got in the way of it.

(38:17):
Raouolfull shoot here at sixty eight percent fren throw shooter,
and that first one will fall through sixty eight point
five as a team that's one hundred and ninety first
in the NCAA, fourth in the Midwest Conference, and they've
had to get the points there. Second one goes as well,
and for Ripping. Four of their eight points in this

(38:38):
fourth quarter have come up to the pre throw line.
Stout really not in foul trouble. Everybody who's committed a
foul only has one, but a lot of players have
a Sam Schaefer gets a deflected pass, Lexie Wagner gets
it back.

Speaker 2 (38:48):
Nine seconds left here in the quarter, Stout.

Speaker 1 (38:50):
Up nineteen to eight, and there's some pressure and they
had a foul to give, and so Van Horn will
give the foul five point two to go. So Stout
not in the bonus yet, but now they will be
if they commit another foul. Rippan commits another foul in
the next five point two seconds. Stout nineteen, ripping eight,
five point two left to go in the first Sam
shafferd to mbound, gets it into the Lodermer gives it

(39:10):
to Wagner with three, with two back to Lodermar. You
gotta shoot back to Wagner, catch a shoot blocked out
of bounds, no foul either out of bounds off of
Van Horn, and that will end the first quarter. So
Stout a dominant quarter. Ripping starting to feel a little bit.
We'll see if they can translate that into a run
to start the second. We'll have that for you with
Stout up nineteen to eight on Ripping the first round
of the NCAA Tournament right here on the nc double

(39:32):
A Sports Network, And welcome back here to UW. Stout

(40:39):
and Johnson Field House. We are through one quarter in
game two of our double header of the day in
the first round of the NCAA Tournament, and it's Stout
nineteen and Ripping eight. At the end of the first quarter.
Ripping is just two of ten from the field in
that first quarter. Ozho of three from beyond the arc.
They have made four of their eight points at the
free throw line in this game. For Scout, there's seven

(40:59):
up team from the field, three of six from beyond
the art, including a two of five Mark Berlexi Wagner,
who leads the scorers with nine. You have Anna Mutch
and Alison Letcher with four beasts, Reagan Sorenson only two.

Speaker 2 (41:10):
She did take three shots in that first.

Speaker 1 (41:13):
Quarter, but has been limited here is They've done a
nice job shutting her down early as ripping and again,
I think Hannah Everson trying to be a little careful
with Reagan Sorenson to make sure that she doesn't play
a ton to night if they do win, so that
she's really fresh for tomorrow against Whitman. If they're fortunate
enough to get there, they try to enter it into her.
She catches in the lane out to Shafer in the
left corner. Bald Bake there gives it back to Sorenson.

(41:35):
Now Wagner steps into a three. It's in and out.
Sorenson Sky for the rebound, gets it, throws it out.
Can somebody get there? Yes, Wagner on the high right
and a new twenty per Stout nineteen to eight Stout.
They've got a new possession. It's geeseen all the way
to the hoop with the left hand, drives right around
l a ten pass and the Blue Levels lead twenty
one to eight, near over the RedHawks nine twenty three

(41:57):
to go.

Speaker 2 (41:57):
Second quarter off on the right.

Speaker 1 (42:01):
It's Nelson starters out there for both teams. Nelson almost
traveled there. Now a high low goes inside and Geeson
gets called for a block. Not a lot of contact.
I felt like an anticipation there. Ten pass caught it
and you saw look at the replayer. You see her
kind of shuffle the feet as you came down. I
think they're saying that a left boot came down on Geeseon.
If that's the case, you gotta call that because you

(42:21):
have to let even if you're not a shooter, when
you're airborne like that, you gotta let them. Land can't
screw it under him. And that's Animana Geeson's second. So
Geson's been pretty quiet. Now she's got two fouls. Catch
made by hav loobits out at the top of the
key on the baseline inbound. Well, then she loses the ball,
just threw it away, but it rolls into the hands
of Nelson in the corner. Nelson holds onto it, Ana
much ripping at it.

Speaker 2 (42:40):
Nice pass right side.

Speaker 1 (42:41):
Layup goes per Rauol It's twenty one to ten stoun
eight fifty seven to go.

Speaker 2 (42:46):
Second quarter.

Speaker 1 (42:47):
Anna Much catches in the front court, takes a bump
from Nelson. Nelson, It's a little late getting to the
spot as Anamuch draws a foul on her Nelson's first
and foul on Geeson her second. First player to pick
up two eight fifty three to go. Here in the
second that Nice inbound to Rosella. Willie on the left

(43:09):
block goes up, had it blocked inside by ten pass.
Ten pass takes it away as well. Here's havev Lovitz
into the front court. Havelovitz bounce his right side. Lanta
Much almost got the steel insted. It's a put up
for van Horn and a bucket. Twenty one to twelve
stout eight thirty eight to go.

Speaker 2 (43:24):
Second quarter.

Speaker 1 (43:24):
Anna Much on the left wing catches, drives into the lane,
crosses over, loses the dribbles trying to find Sorens, and
instead goes out to Wagner at the top.

Speaker 2 (43:32):
Now moves it right wing for Willy.

Speaker 1 (43:34):
There's a defense champ from the ripping fans who are
in the stands behind our broadcast spot. Reagan Sorens into
the hoop, hangs in the lane, takes the two no
tips out of their ten pass, has it up, it
comes here comes ripping, have Lovitz dribbles in on Willie
throws it up while we know not there and Willie's
got the rebound as well. Shafer oh had him poked
in the face. If I have Lovitz and that is

(43:56):
her third. She has been super aggressive and just kind
of daring the just to call a foul about ninety
to eighty five feet away from the bucket, and that's
what they finally did. And that is her second. And
now the question is when do you want to take
her out? And they do take it home. They haven't
taken her out yet. And I'm much gonna check out
here for Stout. And now it is McKenzie Vester to

(44:17):
the table and have Lovitz, will check out. We'll see
if she comes back in at some point in this
first half eight o seven to go, second quarter, twenty
one to twelve Stout Stout with a basketball, Mary Berg
into the game, will bring it up Berg, Willie, Lodermeyer, Sorenson,
and Wagner the five on the floor for Stout, hand
off here to Wagner at the left wing. She'll drive in,
kicks it to Berg in the corner. She'll take it

(44:38):
three off the market, airball Sorenson with the rebound. It
climbs over the rim and through twenty three to twelve.
Stout Reagan Sorenson with four seven forty five to go.
Second quarter, rip it into the front court. Catch your
right side for Bester tries to drive baseline cut off
by Wagoner. Madam Man defense here from Stout. Rau Wolf
moves around left side. Goodball, move into Nelson Nelson's past
moves it into the corner to van Horne. Van Horn

(45:00):
dribbles out good cut in mary Burg great defense. A
misshot ten pass gets the rebound out. It comes to Bester.
Her shot missus. It tips about. It's Reagan Sorenson who
rips it away. Lodermeyer the other way. Lodermeyer, what a
fine Oh, what a nice pass from Willie to find
Sorenson at balls. Unselfish basketball from the lou Devils twenty
five to twelve. Stout leads seven twelve to go here

(45:22):
in the second nice shoulder fake there right on the
drive by Nelson. She kicks at corner to rau Wolf.
Now back up top to Bester, Bester in the corner
to raw Wolf. Rawulf trying to drive, goes to the
elbow now up and under the scoop shot misses. She
gets her own rebound and Lodermeyer crashes in and gets
called for the foul as she was going for the
rebound as well. It's Lodermeyer's second and that won't bring

(45:45):
Schaefer and Geeson back in. Now Geeson's got two, so
she see how careful she is when she gets back
in there. But nonetheless, Lodermeyer picks up found number two,
six fifty six to go.

Speaker 2 (45:57):
Second quarter, gonna keep Lodermeyer in. They're gonna take will
Wagner out.

Speaker 1 (46:01):
She got two players with two fouls out there for
Stout right now six fifty six left here in the
second quarter, ripping him bounds from the baseline in the
front court with a new twenty on the foul. Nelson
has it on the left wing, crosses over beautifully up
with the left hand, goes through really nice jobs. She
saw some space and took advantage of it. Twenty five
to fourteen. Stout leads. Here's Sam Schaffer on the high

(46:22):
wide and left side loves it to Mary Berg on
the right. It's Amanda geeseon inside Sorens and catches. Wasn't
a clean catch. Show has to go in the corner
of Lodermeyer. Why up the three passed it up up
top to geeseon Geese and his foul little hand check.
That's again Nelson putting two hands on, two hands on
that drive from the top of the key is always
going to be a foul on here. You look at
the rebound and she had the right hand and then
put the left hand on right after it that They're

(46:44):
not gonna let you do as Anna Much gonna check
back into the game here for Stout, Reagan's soorrens.

Speaker 2 (46:49):
I'm gonna check out.

Speaker 1 (46:51):
Again.

Speaker 2 (46:51):
I think they're gonna try.

Speaker 1 (46:52):
To limit Reagan's storms and they want her real fresh
tomorrow and back to back knights of playing. That's never
easyly when you have played the kind of season they
have and you want your All American as fresh as possible.
Here's Lodermar getting a little extra with the business there
from rau Wolf because she gets the inbounds pass on
the sideline. Now Anna Much on the right wing, fourteen
to shoot, Stout up twenty five to fourteen six twenty

(47:14):
two to go, second quarter, Sam Shaefer inside Annimate's bad pass.
It's deflected away by ten passes stolen away by raw Wolf,
Ripping Hazard up in the front court, have Lobitz up
for raw Wolf at the elbow, back to have Lovitz
Hablobtz back in with two fouls as well. Hilo inside
catch for ten pass almost stolen away. Then she missed
the layup much, almost had to steal, and then had
a bad shot.

Speaker 2 (47:34):
Geeson gets the rebound.

Speaker 1 (47:35):
Geeson all the way to the hoop, coast to coast,
She's foul.

Speaker 2 (47:38):
He on what a play.

Speaker 1 (47:43):
Amanda Geeson saw it from eighty five feet away, said
I'm going and you're not gonna stop me.

Speaker 2 (47:49):
And wow, Amanda.

Speaker 1 (47:55):
Geeson would not be the nine there. Twenty seven to
fourteen Stout free throw pending. Ripping shot four and made
all four. Stout shot two and made two. Tonight at
the line first from Geeson is too strong and it's
a rebound for van Horn. First missed of the night
for either team. Twenty seven to fourteen Stout, five point

(48:15):
fifty two left to go. Second quarter, says Havelovitz. With
the crossover into the lane. Schaefer was there, just stood
in there made her go around or miss the shot. Farney, though,
gets the offensive rebound back into the post of van
Horn up on much she misses the shot offensive board.
It's still tipping about and it will be a jump
ball and the arrow will give it to Ripping with
a new twenty five thirty seven to go here in

(48:36):
the second quarter, Maddison melic are gonna check in for
the Blue Devils and in four Ripping nubs Green Miller
out of Fondelac. The buke transfer is Miller. She'll check
into the game when she gets the inbound out on
the left wing as a man de Geese and gives

(48:56):
her the pressure.

Speaker 2 (48:57):
Van Horn in the corner.

Speaker 1 (48:58):
Van Horn looking for an entry pass into can't find
a van Horn into the lane on mary Burg.

Speaker 2 (49:02):
Tough play.

Speaker 1 (49:03):
It rolls off, still tipping around. Mary Berg comes away
with it. Mary Berg, the Menominee girl gets it off
to Geese and the shot no and the rebound rippin.
They tied it up for a foul. I got a
file here on mary Berg five eighteen to go second
stout twenty seven Ripping fourteen Deeson out, Willie in and

(49:26):
Wagner also gonna check back in for the Blue Devils.
For alyssa loner Myers, you got Much, Willy, Malika and
Berg the five on the floor Firs style. They are
running through the rotation right now, and so here comes
have Lovitz with those two fouls bringing it in the
front court. Twenty seven to fourteen Stout five eleven left
to play here in the second quarter, in the left corner,

(49:46):
it's van Horn a post up inside. They'll get a
give and go here. Mary Berg was defending. It's a
two point jumper and that will go from the newcomer
brim Miller. Twenty seven to sixteen Stout under five to
go in the second quarter. Hary Berg across the timeline,
gets it to Wagner on the left wing, has a
hand in her face from Barney, finds Willie at the
top around to Berg on the right wing. Who's going

(50:09):
to be the player to step up offensively? Here they
get it to Much on the left. Much looking to
drive and said, it's Berg a lot of perimeter passing.
Here's Malika with a hand in her face. Anna Much
puts it on the deck. She drives right side of
the lane, goes up tough shot, rolls off Malica tipped
out of mounds. It's Ripping basketball. Four thirty one to
go here in the second quarter. Ripping is a tough,

(50:29):
tough team. They're hanging around twenty seven to sixteen. The
lead for Stout will come back right after this here
on the NCAA Sports Network Field House. Welcome back to

(51:42):
Johnson Fieldhouse. Four thirty one left to play here in
the second quarter, Stout twenty seven and Ripping sixteen as
you watch here on the NCAA Sports Network special Thanks
to all of those making the broadcast happen here this evening.
So far is Stout shooting for the field, not on
their season numbers, eleven of twenty four from the field,

(52:03):
three of eight from beyond the arc. Rippin has not
had nearly as much success, six and twenty two from
the field and three from beyond the arc, four of
four at the line. They have out rebounded South sixteen
to fourteen. That is a little bit of the difference
here tonight. Stout is winning the points in the paint
battle sixteen to eight. That part of the difference here
tonight thus far, so Ripping with the basketball here out

(52:28):
of the time out, they go in the corner to
Raw wolf rau Wulf, guarded closely by Anna Mutch, and
she'll enter it into the elbow again to find Miller.
Miller with a tough shot off the window that's gonna
roll off, and the rebound will go to Anna much
and I'm not one of the top rebounders in Stout
history coming into tonight's play, six point thirty four in
her career, eighth on the all time list.

Speaker 2 (52:47):
With the Blue Devils, Sam Schaffer has it on the
left wing. A lot of pressure there.

Speaker 1 (52:52):
Wagner moves it around to Willie, It keeps it in
on the sideline, Willie.

Speaker 2 (52:56):
Out of the top of the key to Shaffer. A
lot of high pressure here.

Speaker 1 (53:00):
I'm ripping. It's Sorensen all the way to the hoop
with the stutter steps. She's fouled, got undercut there by Farney,
and she'll head the line for free throws with the
Euro there like that long stride from the All American.
Couldn't quite get the bucket to fall, but she will
have two free throws coming up as Wagner checks out
and Lodermeyer checks in, and a part of me it

(53:23):
was not wagon. Wragner stays in, but it's a much
checking out Lodermeyer in for the blue doubles. Wagoner was
just coming over the bench to chat with Hannah Iverson.
As you look at Reagan Sorenson. Yeah, a heck of
a game tomorrow. She could get to play against a
Baker for my crin Baker for Whitman two all Americans
going at it and is that first free throw is good?

Speaker 2 (53:45):
But she got a lot of work to do to
get there.

Speaker 1 (53:47):
Second we'll rattle out, Oh, Sam Shaper almost got the rebound,
but the taller ten passes able to get to it first.
The shape or Sorenson with a rare miss. Twenty eight
to sixteen stout three thirty eight left to play here.
In the second quarter, a drive in from the elbow
from raw Wolf. Rawulf bounces it off and the layup
is too strong. Rebound Waggoner another miss, Bunny from ten
pass and Wagner's got it. Wagner up just Lodermyer, Lodermeyer,

(54:10):
what a staff post. She had a layup. She goes
to Sorenson instead in the corner. Sorenson up top to Wagner.
She'll ball fake from three drives with the left hand.
Dick goes, what a move took some contact inside and
finished through it from thirty to sixteen Blue Devils three
ten to go. In the second, here's Nelson high wide
and right in the corner to raw Wolf. Wagner drives

(54:33):
stops there as raw Wolf. Bad pass deflected and out
of bounds. Last touched by Sorenson as they're trying to
find van Horn, and both Wagner and Sorenson had their
paws on it first.

Speaker 2 (54:45):
Two fifty nine to go.

Speaker 1 (54:48):
Here in this second quarter, Stout up thirty to sixteen
and Bouncer ripping on the baseline twelve to shoot. They
go inside to raw Wolf. Rawulf then rolls it back
out to have Logitz, have Lobitz trying to move in
on Sore and send to the elbow. Bad pass deflected
by Wagner and it's grabbed by Lodermar' gonna have to
slow it down here now, Shaefer wants to out let it.

Speaker 2 (55:06):
Shaffer already calling out a pass to get it to Sorenson.

Speaker 1 (55:08):
High lows it catches off the windows. She missed the bunny,
but can she get her own rebound? No, but it's
last touch by Ripping, so dead ball rebound goes Stout's
way Sorenson missing the bunny lay up there. She loves
that little jump shot in the lane and she's got
her timing off there. It looked like Geeson checks in
Willie checks out two thirty seven to go here in

(55:31):
the second stout thirty ripping sixteen Shaffer inbounds afflected away
by Ripping nice hand there from Nelson. Boo Devil's twelve
of twenty six from the field in this game three
of eight from beyond the arc, whereas ripping now is
down to six out of twenty four from the field. Schaeffer,
what a nice inbound there the geese and Geeson took

(55:53):
contact from Nelson on the catch, and she'll head to
the line for two free throws on the misshot catch
it on the left block. She was wide open late
to the spot was Nelson and just kind of moved
into her space and it gets called.

Speaker 2 (56:05):
For the foul. That is her third as well.

Speaker 1 (56:06):
So now Nelson has three ten pass and have Logans
each have two and there is foul trouble about for
ripping right now, they're starting to run out of fouls
out of their top scores. Geson has two free throws.
First is good, Manda Geeson on the season eleventh in

(56:27):
the WYAK and free throw shooting at seventy one percent.
She's scored enough points now to move into solo sixth
place on the all time Stout scoring list. She makes
both there, so Geson now has six You can give
man a geseon On two hundred and seventy eight points
in her career, wore the Blue doubles thirty two to
sixteen Stout two twenty five left to go. Second quarter.

(56:49):
Here's have Lovat stuff in the high left wing here
for Solano. They chop it back across that a LoVa.
She steps into a three that's way too strong, loder
Myers getting hooked. She tips it then into the hands
of Shaper, who gets the rebound. Schaeffer across the timeline.
Solano provided pressure and Schaffer almost threw it away. Here's
Geeson on the right wing, Mary Berg the freshman who's
it left side over to Lodermeyers. She's getting hacked out

(57:11):
over there by Van horn Berg on the right wing
around a Shaffer Sorenston kind of waiting in the wings
on display. They finally get it to her with tend
to shoot on the right wing ball fake there to
the free throw line, drives in, kicks it out to
geeseon ball fake from three to the hoop. She goes
take contact and it will roll out. But one second
to shoot, she takes a bump and she's going to

(57:31):
the line for two free throws and the fowl will
be called on ravulf her first oh Man did a
three sixthy almost a seven to twenty there and then
rimmed out Rosello Willie to the table and I went
wildly off from Geeson. Willy to check in for Geeson

(57:52):
if she can make the screen thrown.

Speaker 2 (57:59):
On the way and that is good.

Speaker 1 (58:00):
So she makes one out of two on that trip
to Gieson and she is three for six now in
the game at the free throw line, Blue Devils sitting
at seven out of PREMI six out of ten thirty
three sixteen Stout after the one made free throw, one
thirty eight left to play here in the second quarter.
N stay tuned at halftime. We will have the athletic

(58:21):
director for Stout doing that on the program. As there's
a nice job by Sorenson to get the steal. And
there is a foul and it's on half love it's
and it's her third and two of the starters now
for ripping with three fouls, just a bad dribble, and
then Reagan Sorenson was there to scoop it up on
the sideline and have a little it's gotten the way
and off we go. And now Sorenson's going to line

(58:41):
as that was a fifth foul on ripping and in
the quarter, and that will send Stout to the line
for the next minute in twenty nine seconds and they
can try to make up some points here as well.
Thirty three sixteen lead for Stout and it's Sorenson at
the line and her first free throw didn't touch a
thing except the bottom of the net, and it's thirty
four sixteen on the make. Sorenson now up to eight points.

(59:05):
In her last game against Whitewater, she passed Julie Mackie
for the second leading score in Stout history up to
sixteen twenty seven and with that she's now up to
sixteen thirty five in her career. Off on the left
wing here for Solano. Solano guarded by Mary Berg van
Horn at the top. Van Horn moves it off on
the right wing. Now bounces for rope Rau Wolf Rawolf
into ten pass ten pass spun didn't want to.

Speaker 2 (59:27):
Take the shot out.

Speaker 1 (59:27):
It goes to Bester. She takes a three that's off
the mark. Lodermeyer with the rebound for stout. Thirty five
sixteen Blue Devils, one oh five left to play. Here
in the quarter, Berg in the corner on the right side,
it's Willy. Willy hands it off in a weave at
the top of the key for Schaeffer back to Berg
on the right wing, Berg looking into the post. Instead,
it's Schaeffer. Schaeffer around a Lodermeyer right now. Stout doing
it with the players off the bench at the moment.

(59:49):
Sowrenson the only starter in the game. Inside they go.
Loder Mayer catches the laft two strong tips out on
air and it's grabbed by ten pass about a thirteen
second differentch We're doing game in shot lock quickly, and
the front court comes back, bounces off on the right
a drive in stop jump the right wing. Rud right
hand runner from Farney goes and she makes a thirty
five eighteen stout, about a three second difference between game

(01:00:12):
and shot clock. Here at the end of the second quarter.
In the first half, Schaeffer up near the timeline Solano
all over. Schaeffer moves it left to the wing, a
Sorens with the back cut through it right in the
hands of ten pass stolen away nine seconds left here
in the half, ripping for a little bit of a run.

Speaker 2 (01:00:32):
At the end of the half, Bester kicks it in.

Speaker 1 (01:00:34):
The left corner, big three on the way that is
in and out rebound Stout. Willie's got it, and Willie
will hear the clock buzz and that is the end
of the first half. A good defensive half for Stout,
the limited ripping. It's a seven of twenty eight shooting
in that first half, an zero of six from beyond

(01:00:57):
the arc, and there in the student section making some noise.
Double team that ends up taking a seventeen point lead
into the halftime locker room. A good start for the
Blue Doubles. We'll talk about the stats and more, but
first we are gonna have a meeting and an interview
with Doing Nats, the athletic director for the Blue Devils.
He is ready to chat with us about hosting and

(01:01:18):
kind of what all goes into that and just kind
of how big this is for the out A Blue.

Speaker 2 (01:01:22):
Doubles athletic program.

Speaker 1 (01:01:24):
Here at halftime, So we will take a minute long break, folks,
minute long break.

Speaker 2 (01:01:27):
We'll come back with doing Nats on the broadcast.

Speaker 1 (01:01:30):
I see him shaking hands, so I'm going to talk
for a little bit to give him some time to
get over here. But we'll take a minute and we
will come back with doing Nats here on a halftime
program right after this here on the NCAA Sports Network.

Speaker 7 (01:01:46):
These are the moments that live on then we'll talk
about for years to come.

Speaker 3 (01:01:50):
We come here to see history made.

Speaker 6 (01:01:53):
Sharing in the wings and the upsets.

Speaker 8 (01:01:55):
Together because whether we're players or fans, we're all on
the same and to us, this is more than just
a game.

Speaker 9 (01:02:03):
It's an important moment in our lives.

Speaker 1 (01:02:06):
Well that's worth protecting.

Speaker 3 (01:02:08):
So if you see something, say something, report suspicious activity
to your local authorities.

Speaker 8 (01:02:14):
If I lose, I'll respond with respect.

Speaker 3 (01:02:19):
If I win, I'll back it up with community.

Speaker 5 (01:02:23):
If I fail, I'll rise up with honor. It's tough
for us to put it all on the line.

Speaker 3 (01:02:34):
Don't undo my hard work with poor sportsmanship.

Speaker 5 (01:02:40):
Respect it's the name of the game.

Speaker 1 (01:02:45):
Hey, welcome back to UW Stout Johnson Field House, the
site of this first round matchup. In the NCAA Tournament
between Stout and Ripping College out of the Midwest Conference
Stout up thirty five to eighteen at halftime. We will
be joined by doing as I believe in just a
mo But he was I don't know, doing some court
maintenance or something like that before we started, so hopefully

(01:03:05):
we can get him over here to chat with him,
but he has not quite made his way over. That
gives us a chance again with Stunt up thirty five
to eighteen here at halftime to chat a little bit
about the other scores, the other games going on in
the tournament. And let's take a quick look at the
bottom right bracket. There are two matchups for tomorrow night
already set up as John Hopkins is going to take

(01:03:27):
on Carnegie Mellon tomorrow night in the Carnegie Mellon Region
there in their pod. Scranton got to win and they
will take on Baits in the pod as well, and
they will come away with a ninety three to thirty
five win there. Lacrosse beating Colorado College earlier, Whitewater looks
like they're well on the way to a victory there.

Speaker 2 (01:03:47):
So the WYAK is going to be well represented in
that pod there as well.

Speaker 1 (01:03:53):
Oshkosh is up but only by four at halftime over
Calvin thirty eight to thirty six. And doing that, the
athletic director for the Blue Devils joins us here on
the broadcast, appreciate you taking a little.

Speaker 2 (01:04:04):
Bit of time with us here.

Speaker 1 (01:04:06):
I should call you coach, right, yeah, coach, Yeah, absolutely,
coach Nats here on the air with us. Appreciate you
taking some time back coaching flag football. So I'm a
coach again? Are you coaching the play? So that was
a pretty cool thing.

Speaker 9 (01:04:18):
I guess it's awesome. Yeah, Well, girls are so excited.
It's fun to be a part of it.

Speaker 2 (01:04:22):
So, yeah, it's a new thing.

Speaker 1 (01:04:23):
That just got to announce that there's gonna be a
flag football and it's one of what six teams in
the in the region that's gonna have women's flag football.

Speaker 2 (01:04:29):
Yes, pretty awesome.

Speaker 1 (01:04:30):
Yep.

Speaker 9 (01:04:30):
The NFL and the Vikings have been a big supporter
of it, and we're here providing more opportunities for women
to do new and cool things. So the women that
are on this team are I mean a bunch of
them are in throwing all the time. They're very excited
to get that opportunity, So it's kind of cool.

Speaker 1 (01:04:46):
And you talk about women's sports here at Stall. You
had the lacrosse team start a couple of years ago
as well, and soccer, volleyball, all those things. But you know,
not say the men's sports are bad or anything like that,
but the women's sports have really been a big piece
of this letic department for a long time, but certainly recently,
especially with what the women's basketball team is doing.

Speaker 2 (01:05:04):
It it's kind of fun to watch, isn't it.

Speaker 9 (01:05:06):
It's a very strong history and community support and universus
support for our women's athletics and it's awesome to be
a part of.

Speaker 1 (01:05:13):
Certainly is tell us a little bit about hosting right
and what kind of goes into that because obviously, you
know what a few weeks ago, I think, hey, a
lot of wins, and we kind of felt like Stout
would be a host for sure in the situation you
apply to host, And of course the last couple of
weeks a little up and down for the women's team,
and we didn't think it would happen, but the stars aligned,
and it did tell us about what that process is

(01:05:35):
like and what it's been like to kind of put
this all together to have it all come together today well.

Speaker 9 (01:05:40):
And it really helps that both Aaron and I have
served on national committee, so we understand what it's, what
it's like, and what it needs to be as an
experience for all four teams here. So I take my
hat off to Aaron and EJ and Delo and our
staff that have done all this and all the help
we've got from our staff.

Speaker 1 (01:05:58):
But the idea of it is that we are the hosts.

Speaker 9 (01:06:01):
This is obviously we're very excited to be able to host,
but we need to make this a neutral environment and
no favoritism that kind of thing. So that's a key
piece of it. But we want this to be a
great experience. And you know the video things that we're doing,
you know some of the signage, that's extra stuff that
we've done to make these kids, all these kids, all

(01:06:23):
four teams feel special and they've earned it. They've earned
this opportunity, and I hope they go away heap feeling, hey,
win or lose, this has been a great experience.

Speaker 1 (01:06:33):
That's really what this is about and what we're.

Speaker 9 (01:06:35):
Trying to do. Like I said, serving on those national
committees that Aaron and I have done really helps because
you see it at the highest level and that's not
really what we're trying to do here.

Speaker 1 (01:06:45):
Well, Aaron Sullivan and you both know kind of what
it was like back in two thousand and seven, two
thousand and five when you guys hosted for those women's
teams that made it as well, and so to kind
of go back to that or even like you said,
making a special experience, whether it's the curtains at the
one end, whether it's uh, you know, like you said,
all the signage, it does.

Speaker 2 (01:07:03):
It feels different than a normal YAK game, doesn't it.

Speaker 1 (01:07:05):
And that's what we want.

Speaker 9 (01:07:07):
And I think that that the teams that are here
see that and see we're trying to make it as
big of a deal as we can and in this
community and this university has really embraced that. So you
look at the crowd tonight for both, you know, all
four teams here. It's been remarkable evening.

Speaker 1 (01:07:24):
So you mentioned the NCAA, but I guess we'll give
a little plug to the YAK and the fact that
five teams making the tournament pretty amazing. I mean, this
this conference has been tough for a long time, but
to see all those five teams. I gotta imagine this
athletic director getting the YAX got to make you feel
pretty great.

Speaker 9 (01:07:37):
Yeah it is. You know, as a W A C
school in this conference, we talked and have talked for
a long time about how good this this league is
in all sports. And this year just so happened to
NPI and the things that came out with that being
new this year, the subjectivity of the committee is out,
so it's all power index in formulas and the dials

(01:08:00):
and things. So this league, as you know, you call
it a long time, there's a lot of good teams here.
So the fact that all five made I think the
fifth team in won tonight. I don't know how they
ended up doing it. Yeah, I know lacrosse won by
a lot. I haven't really looked at any of the
other scores, so.

Speaker 1 (01:08:17):
It looks like at least four are gonna three are
going to advance and we'll see what ends up happening.

Speaker 2 (01:08:21):
But yeah, it's been pretty amazing.

Speaker 1 (01:08:23):
And again women advancing tomorrow night should be a lot
of fun for whoever they end up playing. But come
all the way from Washington here to Wisconsin, I'm sure
that was kind of part of it. Too, like, hey, yep,
make sure it's special because they're coming a long way
for this.

Speaker 9 (01:08:35):
Yeah, and that's a good basketball team. And you know,
the the young women and the coach that were at
the press conference, you know, held after the game, the
little the media show, they're just taking it all in.
You know, they've been to the Big Dance before, so
they're they're enjoying the experience. They're not worried about the
fact they're not playing at home and just taking it

(01:08:59):
in and enjoying being in Wisconsin and going from there.

Speaker 1 (01:09:02):
All right, Well, we enjoy you taking a little bit
of time with us, coach, and we'll let you get
back to your hosting duties because you've been have you
been moving around a lot?

Speaker 9 (01:09:09):
I know we've had, you know, diaper bags on the floor.
We've had a pop bottle. You know, it's all good.
But everybody's having a good time because this is a
good basketball game with two good teams.

Speaker 1 (01:09:20):
It certainly is. We appreciate taking the time, you bet
anytime doing that's joining us here on the broadcast again.
The Blue Devils up thirty five to eighteen. Here at
halftime on a ripping We're gonna take a two minute break.
Can we do that two minute break? And uh, maybe
we're gonna try to take a two minute break. All right,
We're gonna take a too minute break for sure, and
then we will come back. It's Stout thirty five Ripping

(01:09:41):
eighteen and you're watching right here on the nc DOUBLEA
Sports Network.

Speaker 8 (01:09:50):
NCAA athletes don't just compete. They make history, representing our
nation with pride and excellence. They bring home hardware. Our
college campuses serve as training rounds for the next generation
of stars. Catch tomorrow's Olympians and Paralympians on the NCAA

(01:10:12):
championship stage.

Speaker 5 (01:10:13):
Today, the road to.

Speaker 6 (01:10:20):
National championships runs through NCAA dot Com, and whether you
follow one college team or all of them, it's never
been easier to get the content you want all in
one place, with live broadcasts of multiple championships across all divisions,
with exclusive access and highlights for every single championship, stand

(01:10:43):
the game all season long with NCAA dot Com, the
home of college sport.

Speaker 1 (01:11:48):
Welcome back here to Johnson Field House. It is halftime
of Stout Versus Ripping in the first round of the
Division three NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament. It's a thirty five
to eighteen lead for Stout over Ripping at halftime.

Speaker 2 (01:12:01):
Pekoduts and with you.

Speaker 1 (01:12:01):
Ben Turman is our video director and producer. Special things
as always to Dan Price as well, and we appreciate
all those who are tuning in to tonight's game as
here on the NCAA Sports Network. We take a quick
look around. You're seeing the halftime stats here as well. Again,
well in favor of the Blue Devils, A seven and
twenty eight shooting is a tough one for Ripping only

(01:12:22):
seven main field goals in.

Speaker 2 (01:12:24):
That first half and there are four or fourth of
free throw line.

Speaker 1 (01:12:27):
South's defense was turned up. I think that's how the
kids said something like that. Anyway, here tonight. So far,
we are almost through the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
All the games are at least underway, and a number
of pods have already determined who will be playing tomorrow
or tomorrow night. Most of the games are in the
evening to give the teams as much time to recover

(01:12:48):
from tonight's game as possible, But unfortunately, unlike the Division
one tournament, you don't get that day of rest in
between the first round and the second round. You gotta
go bang bang right after to get out.

Speaker 2 (01:12:58):
A dodge, if you will. So it's kind of sets
up to.

Speaker 1 (01:13:01):
Tomorrow night's game seven to fifteen pregame pardon me a
tip rather and a seven and voc pre game here
on the NCAA Sports Network around the pod or the
I should say the quadrant the bottom right quadrant. Again,
there's no regions like ourn division once, we just say
the bottom right quadmen quadrant rather Whipman. With the win
earlier against Superior, they take on the winner of Stout

(01:13:21):
and Ripping against out thirty five rip in eighteen. Here
at halftime, lacrossebeat Colorado College seventy nine to fifty two,
and they move on to take on likely Whitewater, who
is up sixty two to thirty five on Principia with
let's see nine to fifty one left to play in
the fourth quarter.

Speaker 2 (01:13:37):
There at the.

Speaker 1 (01:13:38):
Bottom of this bracket, Johns Hopkins will take on Carnegie
Mellon and Scranton will take on Baits and Scranton if they.

Speaker 2 (01:13:44):
Win, will in all likely. I don't think there's any doubt.

Speaker 1 (01:13:47):
If they win, they will be hosting the Sweet sixteen
matchups between whoever else comes out of these sections other
local kind of scores, if you will. Ochkosh is up,
but not by much. Forty five thirty nine over Calvin
with nine to fourteen left to go in the fourth.

Speaker 2 (01:14:03):
That is a tight one there.

Speaker 1 (01:14:04):
Stevens Point lost earlier today on a heartbreaker against Warpburg
fifty seven to fifty six of Warpburk moves on to
take on either gasave Us at Office or Wisconsin Lutheran.
That's only a twenty to seventeen to stave Us lead
in halftime of that particular game as well, as the
Blue Devils are back out on the court to get
their shoot around.

Speaker 2 (01:14:21):
Going with two minutes left here at halftime.

Speaker 1 (01:14:25):
A quick update as well on the men's side of
the bracket, I just give you the Yax score since
I'm looking at him here. Lacrosse looks like they're gonna
there's still a lot of time left. Seventy nine to
sixty two. They lead Greenville. I forgot they were playing Greenville,
who plays at Grenell up and down style offense. Thirteen
oh three to go. It's Lacrosse by seventeen, but there's
still three to zero three.

Speaker 2 (01:14:46):
To play in that contest.

Speaker 1 (01:14:48):
Plattville is up seventy one to thirty four and halftime
over Grendel, So it looks like they're gonna have a
chance to play Wisconsin Lutheran tomorrow night down at bo
Ryan Court. So that's what the men's scores as well
at halftime. Here you saw the halftime stats earlier. Let's
take it through the individuals. Let's see Wagner leading the

(01:15:09):
scoring for Stout with eleven points, Reagan Sorenson with nine
and four rebounds for her as well.

Speaker 2 (01:15:15):
Wagner is two of six from beyond the arc.

Speaker 1 (01:15:17):
Allison Letcher has added a three as well, and oh
of one for Mary Bird from beyond the arc. Stout
is out rebounder Rippin twenty to eighteen, and Rippin has
turned it over eleven times to Stouts eight. Stouts is
leading points in the paid eighteen to ten here at
halftime as well. Leading score for Ripping is Raulf. She

(01:15:37):
has six to n I two of four shooting and
have low bits as two van Horn and Nelson each
with four and Miller off the bench with two as well.
Miller has not had real like substantial minutes in their
last since about three games ago. When you look at
her stat line had ten minutes three games ago, but.

Speaker 2 (01:15:56):
Has not played a whole heck of a lot lately
here for Ripping, So that.

Speaker 1 (01:16:00):
Is how things line up again, Ripping seven of twenty
eight from the field in that first half and oh
of six from beyond the R four to fourth the line,
So something's got to change for them. The other thing
you got to mention too with Rippin is they have
fowel trouble. They have their starting point guard and Lenny
have Lovitz with three fouls and three as well for

(01:16:23):
their starting two guard.

Speaker 2 (01:16:24):
And Carson Nelson. So again it's a young team.

Speaker 1 (01:16:27):
It's got sophomore freshman, junior, senior freshman in terms of
the starting lineup. I think a little bit of that
playing out in the first half, but that doesn't mean
that they can't make a comeback here in the second.
And it's gonna be a fun one, that.

Speaker 2 (01:16:38):
Is for sure.

Speaker 1 (01:16:39):
Here from Johnson Fieldhouse and the Blue Devils made the
Sweet sixteen last year with a win over wash You
in the first round, then got a bit of a
reprieving that they didn't have to play Carol in the
second round, the host last year that they went to
in their pod as they played Puget Sound in the
second round. Is will be stout with basketball to start
off the second half as they have.

Speaker 2 (01:17:00):
The earrow thirty five eighteen.

Speaker 1 (01:17:01):
They elite and we've lost a few of the Whitman
fans who probably went out for a late dinner.

Speaker 2 (01:17:07):
But the student section is loud and you will hear
him here tonight.

Speaker 1 (01:17:13):
Sam Schaffer with the basketball guarded, might have Loavitz and
we'll see how aggressive she is out there. Schaff Her
on the right wing shop it back to Wagner ball
fake from three dribble to the hoop right hand in
thirty seven eighteen and a set beautifully executed there by
the Blue Devils. To start this second half, here's Nelson.
Nelson from the left elbow moves it off on the
right to Rawulf. Rawolf drives in the lane up on Much.

(01:17:35):
Oh she missed it. I think Much got a piece
of it. Sorenson has it in reach in foul call.
Have Lovitz called for the foul her second see Sorens
and grab it and then have Loovitz grabbing the backs
that right hand on the back because I think would
include the official in to make the whistle or to
blow the whistle and make the call. Sorenson in the
front court stout by nineteen top of the key, dribbling

(01:17:58):
in on Nelson hesitates, now goes right block, goes up
off the window through contact thirty nine eighteen stout as
Sorenson makes the second bucket and as many tries for Stout.
Here in the second half, have Lovitz through a screen
to the hoop with the left hand tough shot, rolls
it in high off the glass there from half lovits

(01:18:18):
they had a bad pass, but nice job by Much
to spin out of it in the corner. Sorenson wanted
to drive baseline and say goes back out to Much.
Wagoner from the left wing dribbles out to the top
of the key the shaper on the right thirty nine
to twenty stout eight fifty two to go. Third quarter,
Sorensen at the left wing takes a screen from Much,
kicks it in the corner to Shaper. Shaper back to
Sorenson at the right block fadeaway jumper yes forty one

(01:18:44):
twenty stout with the lead on Rippin eight thirty seven
to go.

Speaker 2 (01:18:47):
Here in the third have Loavitz.

Speaker 1 (01:18:49):
To the right looking acrossover on Shafer. Shafer stand back
and staying in front of her. Raw Wolf, I'm a
high right in a defensive position, tries to drive in. Oh,
she lost Wagner Hopefully she's okay. Takes a jump or
no into the hands of ten pass on the offensive
real put back. No, but a foul and she and

(01:19:11):
Wagner is in some pain. Wagner went down awkwardly as
she's hopping. Oh boy, that is something that Blue Devils
cannot have. Wagner is maybe one of the toughest players
I've seen here at Stout. She is trying to figure
out how to put some weight on that right leg,
and she has been dealing with knee issues this whole season.

Speaker 2 (01:19:34):
I'm gonna get Mary Berg. I think it's gonna come
in for her.

Speaker 1 (01:19:36):
Here.

Speaker 2 (01:19:38):
Ten pass hits the free throw. The foul was called
on Schaeffer. Let's see.

Speaker 1 (01:19:42):
Wagner just looked over at Mana L. Everson. She was
kind of flinching in pain, and she says.

Speaker 2 (01:19:48):
I'm okay, what are you talking about?

Speaker 1 (01:19:49):
Free throw? Good from ten pass forty one two Stout.
Wagner is gonna get probably some treatment here. We'll see.

Speaker 2 (01:19:58):
See if she needs any.

Speaker 1 (01:19:59):
I don't know if there's a whole lot of treatment
they can give her.

Speaker 2 (01:20:03):
Just kind of fell awkwardly, and that's just something Stout
can't have.

Speaker 1 (01:20:05):
Here's berg Berg into the lane to Anna Much spins
try to get it out to Sorenson. She does at
the wing, go back to Much given go with Sorensen
into the lane, hangs and fires man hits a get
over top bum Nelson forty three twenty two Stout seven
fifty five to go third have Loovitz trying to cross
over on Berg picks up and dribble up by her
ear out on the right wing of three from van Horn,

(01:20:26):
No and much with the rebound, beautiful box out on
rawulf inside. Much takes some pressure from behind, now bounces
into Sorenson, intercepted, stepped in front of and stolen away
hereby ripping and now it blocks out and it's grabbed
here by berg Berg pushes out to Schaeffer. They got
numbers if they hurry Schaeffer in the front court right
side Much for a three A big shot. Oh no,

(01:20:48):
it's off the front and it bounces out fan Horn
with the rebound.

Speaker 2 (01:20:51):
That would have been a dagger, but an early dagger,
but it would have.

Speaker 1 (01:20:54):
Been forty three twenty two Stout seven nineteen to go.
A third quarter, have Lovit's hands off to van horn In.
She goes up, she goes miss the shot. She was
out of bounds. What pressure, Sam Shaffer with the defense
all defensive? Whyack player? And she deflects it and it
will stay with Stout and Will Shaffer with a big
smile as she comes off. Lexie Wagner is getting treatment

(01:21:19):
back at the treatment table hopefully. Okay, they've got her
shoe off and she's getting I think her ankle wrapped
up here to provide more support for her hand up
to Lodermeyer inside the much with the left hand. No,
and it's wrapped by ten pass. More pressure than she
thought and ten passed with that long wing span of
five point eleven was able to get the deflection in
the seal Forty three twenty two Stout six fifty three

(01:21:41):
to go. Here in the third quarter, Enfrey pass goes
into ten pass with the right hand, yes, right around
a man of Geeson. She got that in a beautiful
position and Geeson just didn't have a chance to make it.
Defensive play with where that ball was caught and where
Geeson was her Sorenson on the right side, Sorenson up
top to Geeson given go with Much Much said she
was being hell by Bester inside and she will not

(01:22:02):
get the call. Forty three twenty four Stout as Blue
Levils throw it out of mounds. Jody Duffy the referee
to giving her some business back and kind of staring
at her as she heads to the bench. I'm not
happy with whatever Anna Much said to her on that
play where she thought she was being held Forty three
twenty four Stout six twenty eight to go here in

(01:22:22):
the third, this is ten pass at the elbow, great
pass inside van Horn. Perversely it misses it and it's
grabbed by geeseon she had her back kind of turned
funny and not stolen away by van Horn. Van Horn
has it for ripping, poked away by Geese. I think
it went off the leg. No it didn't. It's gonna
stay with ripping on the near sideline, I should say,
the far sideline as you watch it home right in
front of the ripping bench.

Speaker 2 (01:22:44):
Six fifteen to go.

Speaker 1 (01:22:45):
Here in the third Stout forty three ripping twenty four
It's been a physical game much more physical than what
we saw in the Whipman Superior game because Whitpmen just
kind of was able to do whatever they wanted, and
Superior did not hold up a lot of a physicality
to them. Good in by Nelson, who knocks it in
off the window. Berg, what a past the swords that
she catches. I'm what a block by van Horn out

(01:23:07):
of bounds forty three twenty six Stout Blue Devils will
keep it, but want a block from van Horn and
the ripping fans make some noise on that one, and
they should. That was a heck of the block. In transition,
loder Meyer out Shaper in much in and it is
Geeson taking arrest here for Stout six to one to go.

(01:23:27):
In the third, Sam Shaper to inbound from the baseline.
Oh nice past to Willie. Willy had a hard time
catching it, has to kick it out to Berg. She'll
step into a three. Mary Berg is feeling it tonight.
She wanted to take some three. She finally gets some
space and she hits forty six twenty six Stout five

(01:23:50):
forty five left to play third quarter off on the left.
This has had Lovitz have Lobitz with a two point
j from the short corner and it's forty six twenty
eight stout thirty five to go. Third up into the
front court quickly to hand them. Much on the right
wing pounces into sorens and catches at the block, hangs
she's foul.

Speaker 2 (01:24:06):
He one.

Speaker 1 (01:24:08):
Cragan Sorensen just with a serious look on her face
and she says, let's go. I'm done messing around. Sorensen
to the lines. It's grind to complete the three point play.
Sorensen with seventeen here tonight, seven of twelve from the field,

(01:24:36):
three of four at the line, and five rebounds to
Ring and Sorensen, and she does it, being just five seven,
but she misses the free throw. It pops out of
there and it's grabbed by ten pass ten pass out
for have Lovitz. Not a lot of fouls in the
second half as of yet, five twenty to go in
the third stout by twenty and nice drive by have Lovitz.

Speaker 2 (01:24:54):
Left handed runner goes got past Mary Berg and.

Speaker 1 (01:24:56):
Got the easy layup shaper up to Bergen transition Kerk
moving across the top of the key. They switch it
up top to Much Much to Berg on the left
wing Berg Schaeffer much on the right, much driving two
hands from Bester out of bounds to stout third foul

(01:25:17):
on ripping in the quarter, and that should send us
to an immedia timeout.

Speaker 2 (01:25:22):
Four fifty eight left to.

Speaker 1 (01:25:23):
Play here in the third forty eight stout thirty ripping.
It will be a good end of the third quarter
coming up, which we'll have for you right after this.
You're on the nc double A sports network.

Speaker 10 (01:25:37):
That's a time out on Betty. It completely changed the
game and you didn't even notice. Let me break it
down for you. Maybe ads are applying full court pressure
and getting you to play the game.

Speaker 1 (01:25:49):
Many of you are falling forward and losing big money.

Speaker 10 (01:25:52):
Addiction is happening in some more than oh now. Players
are getting harassed by better and we all know that's
not how the game is won. So it's on us
to be good teammates and draw the line to stay
ahead of Benny consequences.

Speaker 1 (01:26:38):
Welcome back to Johnson Field House here in Menomonie, Wisconsin,
Game two of our opening round the NCAA Tournament here
on the NCAA Sports Network peekadus to with you.

Speaker 2 (01:26:47):
Ben Tournament is our video director.

Speaker 1 (01:26:49):
Specially thanks to Dan Bryce as well as It's a
forty eight to thirty lead here for the Blue Devils
over Ribbon, the four fifty eight remaining in the third quarter,
eighteen of thirty six from the field fifty percent seventeen
per Sorenson, thirteen.

Speaker 2 (01:27:05):
For Lexi Wagner.

Speaker 1 (01:27:06):
Now, a Lexi Wagner was getting some treatment and she's
still getting treatment on that right leg, which has bothered
her all season long, and she's gonna try to fight
through it. And part of this might be sort of
a game management type of thing, and you say, hey,
if you're in a good position with five minutes left

(01:27:26):
to play in the fourth quarter, maybe you just don't
bring her back. But you only bring her back if
you need her, because you're gonna need her tomorrow against
a really good Whipmen team. Here's Madison Mallik into the game,
the freshman poked away here by Van Horn. She gets
to steal, hands it off to have Lovitz, have Lobitz
in transition, Shaper stops her. Have Lovitz loses the basketball
a steal from much and Much once outlet the attack,

(01:27:46):
but she's gonna slow it down a bit.

Speaker 2 (01:27:48):
Rippin's been aggressive and officials.

Speaker 1 (01:27:50):
Have let that go. Much hesitates drive to the hoof
the layup goes, I want to play. Had a much
big smile on our way back down the court. Have
they come out far? Ernie here on the right wing,
gets cut off by much Much getting back nicely as
Malica pushes Van Horne, who was moving across the lane.
Four twenty five to go third quarter, stout fifty and

(01:28:13):
ripping thirty. As you see the foul, pretty clear call
that the officials have there might be the easiest one
they have all game. And as van Horn m bounced
from the baseline in the front court, ten pass had
a tough catch poked away by Geeson. Look at the
aggression up to much much has Malica with her up
for Melica, she'll stop poping ahead, tough freshman, and how

(01:28:34):
about that score your first points in an NCAA tournament
fifty two to thirty Blue doubles Boroh seven ago in
this third quarter, Bester Hilo inside with ten pass blocked
by Shaper, but a foul Shaffer on the help side
got there, but she got armed two on her way
through ten passing a nice job bodying up in front
of the freshman Mary Berg, and then on the help

(01:28:56):
Shaper wanted the block but realized you probably wasn't gonna
get it and decided to.

Speaker 2 (01:29:00):
Make her earn it the hard way to send pass.

Speaker 1 (01:29:02):
A head of the line sixty six percent free throw
shooter on the season, which was ninth in the MWC
and Midwest Conference Player of the Year last two years,
and she'll miss that free throw with four minutes left
to go here in the third The game we're kind
of paying attention to outside of this one isn't in
the the bottom right quadrant. It's uw Oshkosh, who is

(01:29:25):
only up fifty four to fifty on Calvin with two
forty five left in the fourth quarter.

Speaker 2 (01:29:30):
Make the second one.

Speaker 1 (01:29:31):
Anna much has it in the front court stout fifty two,
ripping thirty one the three fifty two to go. Here's
a Mary Bird two point jumper that's too strong off
the gal long rebound all the way out to Vester
near the free throw line. Nice passing transition up to
have Lovitz. The layup is no good from Parney and
it's crabbed by Geeson on the rebound. What a grab
strong rebound from Amanda Geeson and she'll take pressure from

(01:29:52):
Parney all the way and a charge is called. I
think the problem there that Stout's gonna argue is that
she was being fouled the whole way up the Yeah,
you see that bump there right at the end. She
also might have traveled as well. There's probably about two
or three things they could have called before the charge
and ends up being just a charge on Geson and
that is her third foul. They're gonna roll with her though,

(01:30:14):
three thirty four left in the third. I think it's
all right. No, they are gonna bring her out. So
a number of subs here for Stout. Rozella Willie is
and they don't know who's coming out. Madison Malik is
coming out? Did she just come in? Everybody's all right, Okay, Berg, Sorenson, Willie,

(01:30:35):
Mutch and Lodermyer the five on the floor for Stout.
Now that that's all sorted out, three twenty seven left
to play here in the third stop fifty two rip
them thirty one ten pass at the left elbow, looking
for a cutter in raw Wulf, She gets a screen,
goes to the hoop her self right hand no it
rolls off Willie with the rebound Berg Sorenson. Sorenson in

(01:30:58):
transition into the lane, takes contact, spins hangs fires head
hits fifty four thirty one Stout, Reagan Sorenshi with nineteen.

Speaker 2 (01:31:09):
Now between the leg dribble to raw Wolf.

Speaker 1 (01:31:11):
Raw Wolf between the circles, moves right now to Farney
Barney in the corner to Bester. Bester drives Baseline, has
to kick it across, moves it right for Nelson.

Speaker 2 (01:31:18):
Nelson into the lane with the left.

Speaker 1 (01:31:20):
Handed, goes over top of Sorens and as it floats
in fifty four thirty three Stout two forty.

Speaker 2 (01:31:26):
Four to go. Third quarter bird off for Lodermeyer on
the right wing.

Speaker 1 (01:31:29):
It's Willy up top. Willie too much on the left
much wants to drive from the wing well cut off
there by raw Wolf. She'll take a two instead off
the heel, no rebound ten pass. She likes that mid
range shop but unfortunately that one probably an ill advised
once a lot of time left on the shock. Look,
here's Bester in the front court for ripping. Fifty four
to thirty three Stout. Bester gets a handoff at the

(01:31:50):
elbow top scoop lay up no ten pass with the
rebound her foot back. No, but a foul. See they
get much or willy here? Willy is the foul? There
is the yeah, I definitely will it good? Call you
you'll see that replay. Fifty four to thirty three Stout
two seventeen to go in the third, two doubles shooting

(01:32:12):
a little over fifty one and forty one.

Speaker 2 (01:32:15):
In this game.

Speaker 1 (01:32:16):
As you take a look at l ten passes, heck
of a career for RGAN Wisconsin Lutheran transfer. She's a
n ACC First team player there for Wisconsin Lutheran back
in twenty two to twenty three, and then Midwest Conference
Player of the Year the last two seasons, including this year.

(01:32:37):
Makes the first has one more coming man the second
will go as well. On the rainbow free throws. She'll
check out your little rests. Van Horn checks back in
for two seventeen to go in the third stout fifty.

Speaker 2 (01:32:52):
Four ripping thirty five.

Speaker 1 (01:32:55):
Scout out rebounding, ripping twenty seven to twenty five, outscoring,
ripping in the paint thirty to twenty at the moment.
Here's a drive by Sorenson on a weave around the
right elbow, and get it to Lodermeyer.

Speaker 2 (01:33:06):
In the corner. Now for Willy, back to Sorenson on
the right short corner.

Speaker 1 (01:33:09):
Sorenson with the big eyes there looking for a pass.
You'll go back to Willy the corner. Three maybe, oh
bye rosella. Willie a thirty five percent three point shooter,
and she steps back in heads fifty seven thirty five
stout one forty seven to go. Third quarter. Here's raw

(01:33:33):
Witz on the high right. She'll post up to the
elbows of Van Horn. They give a nice give and
go inside with Bester, who knocks it in off the
window in the layoff fifty seven thirty seven stout leads
Willy in the front court, so Sorenson Sorenson into the lane,
takes contact back to Willie right at the free throw line,
looking for the giving go with Sorenson catches lay up yes,
pen on pooping the harm for Reagan. Sorenson and the

(01:33:57):
two man game with Willie gets her of the line
trying to make it a twenty three point lead. Look
at that beautiful give and go, beautiful catch and the
reach in there from the signed by Rawulf. Bester is
gonna check out here for ripping. See who came in
for but none? I think it's had Lovitz. Mary Berg

(01:34:18):
checks out Shaper in for sout Sorenson at the line
one twenty one to go. Third quarter, third foul on
raou Wulf and the free throw rattles in. Sorenson has
twenty two nine of fourteen shooting and the Blue Devils
have a twenty three point lead with one fifteen to
go in the third quarter.

Speaker 2 (01:34:39):
Blue Devils when they hit over.

Speaker 1 (01:34:40):
About the sixty six sixty seven point mark, they are
almost flawless on the season. A wild shot there from
ripping and Sorenson gets the rebound. Think gets double team
in the back or Willy gonna have to bring it
up herself. Take us a pressure from behind. Willy hands
off the Shaper in the left corner. Shafer skips it
across the Letcher on the right wing. Letcher puts it
on the deck. Letcher gets left alone for a moment
in the lane, goes back to Sorenson on the wing.

(01:35:02):
Sorenson to the hoop. She was hell on too. Didn't matter.
She fought through it and scored at sixty two to
thirty seven Stout. Forty two seconds remain in the third quarter,
twenty five point Blue Devil lead. Here's have Lovitz and
a moving screen called as she was trying to get
open to the hoop. The foul goes against Van Horn.

(01:35:23):
Van Horn's second. All right, now, Carson Nelson with four
for ripping, and you've got ron Wolf and have Lovits
each with three. Thirty four seconds remain here in the
third quarter. Stout by twenty five, but a five second
differential between game and shocklocker at the end of the
third no fouls to give for either team, so don't

(01:35:44):
need to be terribly aggressive here. Nelson has four, and
she's all up in her business. Shape her out high
wine and left eleven to shoot. Poked away and they'll
go out of bound. Stay with Stout. So again, about
a five second differential here between game and shot clock
at the end of the third, fourteen point five to
play in the third and nine to shoot catch by

(01:36:05):
Shaffer the back course, Nelson all over Shaffer across the timeline.
Shaper given, go get great, catch my swords and underneath,
and the layup goes sixty four to thirty seven stout
four seconds, three seconds, two seconds right side of three
at the buzzer, God good from Anna forty and the
senior gives Ripping something to cheer about going into the fourth.

(01:36:27):
But it's been all blue devils through three. Sixty four
to forty grew three. We come back with the fourth
quarter right after this on the nc DOUBLEA Sports Network.

Speaker 7 (01:36:41):
The NCAA sponsors ninety national championships each year, none of

Speaker 1 (01:37:40):
Welcome back you in here to w Stout Johnson Field House,
the site of the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
Whitman with a big win earlier tonight against UW Superior
and the Blue Devils up by twenty four at the
end of three, You're on Ripping Stout outscores Ripping twenty
nine to twenty two. In that third quarter, they shot
thirteen of eighteen from the field, two of three from

(01:38:01):
beyond the arc. That was an offensive explosion from the
Blue Doubles. And again, I believe the only other quarter
they scored more in this season was at thirty four
point first quarter of the first game of the season.
Ans Calvin. Absolutely wild offensive third quarter for both teams.
I mean, Ripping put up twenty two, but that is
a heck of a heck of a third quarter for

(01:38:22):
the Blue Doubles and now Ripping has got to put
the pressure on. They got to do something to get
back into this game. Down twenty four. All right, here
we go ripping with the ball, and to start things off,
they move right to left in the red uniforms as
you watch them at home, raw wolf into the short
side of ten pass, ten pass, trying to drive on
Willie with the spin move with the left hand. It
rattles in. I hit sixty four forty two stout and

(01:38:43):
ten pass trying to pull her team back up and
just give him a fighting chance here because that is
now up to nine points per ten passes. Shafer has
it on the right wing, Lodermeyer flashing into the bucket.
They left her alone. What a block by ten pass
on the help boy. Lodermyer looked wide hope, but in
ten pass came out of nowhere, flying in and deflected it.

(01:39:04):
There's a drive baseline for hav Lovitz given go and
it's loder Meyer steps in front of it. Last touch
by ripping, it'll be south basketball sixty four forty two
stout with six.

Speaker 2 (01:39:13):
Fifteen to play.

Speaker 1 (01:39:14):
Now, interestingly, to start this quarter, you got Schaefer, loder Meyer, Letcher, Willie,
and I think that's everybody. I get everybody, Sorens and Shaper,
I think I got everybody there. But nonetheless it's Noah
Anna much, Noah Man, the Geeson and Lexi Wagner is
kind of the question mark right now. She felt kind

(01:39:35):
of awkwardly in that third quarter. They've been given her treatment.
She's on the end of the bench right now. You
see her with her leg up. She's got.

Speaker 2 (01:39:42):
Some ice on the ankle. So my guess is she probably.

Speaker 1 (01:39:45):
Rolled the akle. And again I'm not that kind of
doctor of hopefully nothing terribly bad. She was walking around,
she wanted to keep playing, So I think right now,
I gotta imagine this is going to be a caution thing.
As loder Meyer has it in the left corner, she
wants a three and she is too strong on the three.
Let's grab my ten pass here for ripping sixty four
forty two stout and so I mean, you got a
big lead. So I'm sure Hannah Iverson is trying to

(01:40:06):
play the managing time and trying to keep everybody fresh for.

Speaker 2 (01:40:09):
Tomorrow night game as well. Just have Lovitz has it
on the right side, high low with ten pass catches.

Speaker 1 (01:40:15):
What a block by Alison Letter inside gets it back.
Another block oh by Alyssa loader, Myer with the second block,
Letter with the first, and Stout gets it back. Here's
Willie right side out of Shaper back up top to
Willie left wing, Letcher inside the Sorenson on the block.
She's double team gets through, it goes up with the
right hand, it rolls off, gets run rebounds. She's fouled
on the foot back by Nelson and she's out of

(01:40:36):
the game with.

Speaker 2 (01:40:36):
Their fifth five.

Speaker 1 (01:40:46):
So there is a foul car a fifth poul called.
And so they also saw Nicholas pat coming over and
tell him or In who's a lockey, to get back
to her bench. She's a on a tee here, but
the officials are not putting up with a whole lot
more from her, and Nelson will come out and you

(01:41:07):
can tell just a freshman but not happy with how
her game is gonna end. Nelson is that first free
throw rolls in from Reagan Sorens and Nelson go to
end the game with eight points. I'm four four shooting
from the field in twenty two minutes. Reagan Sorenson hits the.

Speaker 2 (01:41:26):
Second one sixty six forty two stout. They get our first.

Speaker 1 (01:41:32):
Mareo Wiltrout siding here the sophomore, and she gets a
big ovation from the fans, and you get the six
foot two sophomore from Cambridge, Minnesota. End of the game.
Have Madison Mallika in there as well, and right now
the only starter is Anna much is Reagan Sorenson comes out,
ten passes fouled. She hits it.

Speaker 2 (01:41:52):
They'd tell she's frustrated. That was a frustration bucket.

Speaker 1 (01:41:55):
And and one opportunity she gets fouled, I believe by
Lodermyrie up her third.

Speaker 2 (01:42:02):
Will Trout tapping her chest saying, hey, that was on me.

Speaker 1 (01:42:05):
I didn't get over and rotate quick enough. Ten pass
at the line, that bucket got her into double figures.
She will make the free throw on a kind roll
sixty six forty five Stout eight to fifteen to go
here in the fourth, you got two freshmen out there
for the blue doubles right now and a sophomore. As
mary Berg drives right sideline ball, fake goes up with

(01:42:26):
a right hand too strong, Malika grabs it and a
jump ball.

Speaker 2 (01:42:30):
I think was call and it's gonna keep it with Stout,
I'm telling you.

Speaker 1 (01:42:35):
Lauren Booze Lockey is not happy at all. I think
they want to see if that one hit the rim
or not. Yeah, so they're gonna go back to nineteen
on the shot clock. Man de Geeson is gonna check
back in here for Stout and loder Meyer comes out,
so two of the starters out there for the blue doubles.
I think right now it's load management time here for

(01:42:58):
Hannah Iverson. Unless this game gets real close, you're going
to see a lot of these freshmen and sophomores in
the game for so bad entry pass from Berg a
little too high for Mario, will trout and it's grabbed
away on a sealed ripping and.

Speaker 2 (01:43:10):
They go the other way with have Lovin's with the
layup or under eight to go.

Speaker 1 (01:43:13):
Stout sixty six ripping forty seven, Malica in the left corner.
Malica pressure from Bester, Geeson will trout on the right wing,
will trout up to Melica, they seal off. Geeson gets
to it, hands off to Berg. She'll step into a three.
It's good Mary Burg. The X factor sixty nine forty

(01:43:38):
seven so out seven twenty nine to go is spin
move from hand Logan's on the left side of the lane.
Back out it goes to best Er loses a dribble,
Keeson dives for it. Now everybody on the floor in
a whistle and a time out taken by RiPP it,
and that will bring us to a media time out
as well.

Speaker 2 (01:43:53):
Seven twenty one to go.

Speaker 1 (01:43:54):
Here in the floor, stout sixty nine, ripping forty seven,
and you're watching a r here on the n C
double A Sports network.

Speaker 12 (01:44:06):
Whoa we tear on the night.

Speaker 1 (01:44:09):
Don't wear entire day, don't bury it kind of thing.
Don't bother me that holiday.

Speaker 6 (01:44:15):
You know if you don't like, don't wear it tid thing,
don't bury it kind of thing.

Speaker 1 (01:44:20):
Don't barby bday. Take it to this future, forget about
the past.

Speaker 3 (01:44:26):
You can keep following your secrets.

Speaker 1 (01:44:28):
Swearing that one pass the go by trouble, don't get
where you've been the only thing that's mad man.

Speaker 13 (01:44:36):
Swear the next one the right thick like stop shining
on you that be so tight, Take you on up,
get up down like there's no smile, bo like, there's
no smile, no no like, there's no taboo.

Speaker 2 (01:44:54):
Be tearing on the night.

Speaker 1 (01:44:55):
Don't wear in tida day, don't bury it, tid of thing.
No welcome back once again here to Johnson Field House
and to dewey Men's Court. Here in Phnominee, Wisconsin, Western Wisconsin,

(01:45:18):
on the banks of Lake Monoma and not too far
away from the Twin cities of Minneapolis St. Paul. It's
a sixty nine forty seven lead for Stout over Ripping
seven twenty one left to play here the Blue levels
losing using a lot of players off the bench tonight
to try to limit minutes and try to be fresh
for tomorrow night against Whitmen.

Speaker 2 (01:45:39):
A lot of women fans left at halftime who would.

Speaker 1 (01:45:42):
Hung around after their big win against Superior earlier today.
But I'm sure if they know about Lexi Wagner and
what's happened to her again, She's got ice on the ankle,
shoe off. She's not coming back tonight. Hopefully she's able
to go tomorrow. And if she is, you like Stout
to give Whitmen all they can handle if they can
get the I gotta travel, gotta be a travel it
is out of the time out, time out or a travel.

(01:46:06):
Rather here on Raoul Wolf on her way in is
now Stout has it in the front court. It's Madison Malika,
the freshman from the left wing, guarded by Van Horn,
wants to drive. Hands it off here too, anam Much
at the top top of the key, right side, now
to Amanda Geese and Mary Berg and Shaper in there
as well and away from the ball. A foul called

(01:46:28):
on ripping It's raul Wolf gets called for a hold.
Believe on Anna Much away from the play as we
will see Regan Sorenson check in along with the transfer
mid season for Stout and Gray Shizzle.

Speaker 2 (01:46:45):
Shizzle will transfer from Grand View University.

Speaker 1 (01:46:48):
Is there's a nice inbound two Shizzle in the lane
hands it off to geeseon Oh what a pass. The
Sorenson on the block, gotta get out of the lane.
They do. Here's Geeson now up top, mary Berg and
other three No way, Oh that's off the side. No.
The rebound goes to Ripping Solano who rips it down
here for the RedHawks up quickly in transition comes to
have Low but sav Low is a tough shot there
right side of the lane. No good, and now they're

(01:47:10):
starting to throw up some four shots as Anna Much
gets the rebound. This team in ripping the forty fourth
ranked team in the NPI. Stout twenty third, nice catch
by Anna Much right block, gets a round a defender.
What to play? She is so tough inside for the
blue doubles up. It comes to Rawulf Rawulf stops left
side of the lane, finds van Horn trailing to play.

(01:47:31):
Sorenson got a block and Anna Much got to it
and we got a foul call on ripping. Tough play,
physical play. The thing, if you're Whitman that you like
is just how physical this game is. Because women game,
Whitman's game was not. It was a lack of physicality
for sure in that game, and this one has been

(01:47:52):
much more physical. Probably not as physical as a Wyatt game,
but it's approaching that for sure, much as it poked
away a stout has its seventy one forty seven blue
doubles five fifty eight to go. Here in the fourth,
Gray Shizzle too much. Now over to Sorenson in the
right short corner. She wants to drive baseline. She does,
gets around her defender. She's up, head off the glass
and Ragan Sorenson Hassen thirty tonight here in the first

(01:48:12):
round of the NCAA tournament, Sorenson's career high thirty six.
She said it a couple of seasons ago against Aurora,
there's a three from the corner, no good. Shizzle tracks
it down and jump ball called with her and Van Horne.
The arrow is gonna give it to Ripping as Willie
checks in. Here for the Blue Devils.

Speaker 2 (01:48:29):
And as much as you're gonna want to see Reagan
Sorenson get.

Speaker 1 (01:48:33):
A record tonight and get her career high, I think
they're gonna take her out to to uh preserve her leg.
Now they're gonna keep her in as Anna Mutch checks out.
So we're gonna see our first look at Julia Rye
Backie into the game as well, and right Backie trying
to get out for a steal on that pass when
the baseline in to have lobits on the inbound little

(01:48:54):
given go inside, deflicted by Willie and stolen away by
Gray Shizzle Shizzle off per shape her shaper into the
front court. Shaper stops in the left corner. Right Backie
go off top to Shizzle. Shizzle moves it right now
on the wing to Willie. Five eighteen to go fourth quarter.
Shafer hands out the right Backie. Here is her patented
move to the hoof the layupos.

Speaker 2 (01:49:14):
You missed it.

Speaker 1 (01:49:15):
Boy, she made a great move. She's got that long
stride like Amanda Geese and does just didn't finish it.
There have low bits now guarded by Shizzle, given go
inside ten pass catches left hand layup good seventy three
forty nine stout five minutes left to play here from
Johnson field House two Devils in good shape here as
Shaffer brings across the timeline to Sorenson. Sorenson on the

(01:49:36):
left wing, up top to Willy Willy across the Shizzle
on the right side, guarded closely by Solano. Here's Willy
with it at the top of the key. Willie looking
goes right. Ken Sorenson with the catch, hangs pops, pits
it again. Thirty two for Regan Sorenson, She's still got
a few more minutes here to set her career record.

(01:49:57):
Twelve for Solano rather the right wing top to raoulf
four twenty three to go stout seventy five ripping forty
nine forced nineteen left to play. Solano nice catching side
by ten pass tries to go up, She's blocked, but
a foul call on right backy r Backie stands at

(01:50:18):
five foot nine she's got a long wingsman again, it's
kind of like Aman of geeseon in that way. Freshman
from Somerset, and she is an impresent player and she's
gonna be a good player for a long time. Here
for the Blue Devils final media time out, taking four
thirteen to play, stout seventy five, ripping forty nine. You're
watching it right here on the nd seed Double A
Sports Network.

Speaker 12 (01:50:42):
I believe sportsman ship is a it's a mutual admiration
and respect for your fellow competitors. We all go through
a lot to reach the point where we competing against
one another. It's important to realize that so once we're
finally on the field, they're on the court or on
the starting block, we look at each other as fellow
human beings and not just competitors. Being able to recognize

(01:51:04):
the hard work that other athletes are putting in create
a more positive and inclusive environment.

Speaker 14 (01:51:12):
Proportion to me is the lived experience of our division
free student athletes. They balance life from an academic perspective
and the rigors of competing at a high level, bonding
with teammates and building lifelong friendships, but they also are
involved in their communities. They work jobs and internships and volunteer.
They've learned to be resilient. Diverse experiences are setting them

(01:51:37):
up for the future.

Speaker 1 (01:51:42):
Welcome back to Johnson field House. It is the NCAA
Tournament Here on the NCAA Sports Network, Peaking notes and
with you. We've been with you all day. It seems
like we've been with you all night. Determined, doing a
great job on the production as always, special thanks to
Dan Price as well. Four thirteen to play here in
course stout seventy five and ripping forty nine. Sound as

(01:52:03):
shooting fifty two point seven percent from the field, including
six of fourteen from beyond the arc, eleven of fifteen
at the free throw line for ripping just thirty five
percent from the field, one of nine from beyond the
arc in this game, ten and eleven from the free
throw line. Stout out rebounding, ripping thirty three to thirty one.
Rippin has committed eighteen turnover stout fourteen blue doubles, outscoring

(01:52:25):
ripping in the paint thirty eight to thirty. There's a
free throw made by La ten past she has been standout,
I mean just been so good. Double double for her,
so That is her fourteenth double double of the season.
As she makes that one, fifteen points, eighteen rebounds. Now
without her, there's like no rebounds on this ripping team.
As she makes a second as well, give her sixteen
points on the night, seventy five to fifty one. Stout

(01:52:47):
Blue doubles have one starter and there Shaper is the
only starter in there at the moment. Here's right Backy
with it over to Shaper on the left wing, back
to Rye Backie up top. They switch it right to Letcher.
Fifteen to shoot, under four left to play here in
the first round to the NCAA tournament. Eleven to shoot.
Here's Malik out of the hoop. She had it poked away,
rolls out to right backie. Somebody's got to get a
shot off here. Five seconds, nice pass inside of Shafer,

(01:53:09):
got a ball fake. She goes up.

Speaker 2 (01:53:11):
It misses, but she is fouled by ten packs the
ball fake.

Speaker 1 (01:53:17):
Boy, take a ball fake on that shot. You can't
see how much time was left on the shock block,
but it was only had to only be two or
three seconds left to have the confidence to make a
ball fake. There is really impressive. Shafer's free throw will
rattle in Shaper seventy six percent on the season. At
the free throw line, it's a little over her career

(01:53:42):
mark is seventy two percent. Well Shaper got rolled up
on there on that free throw. Seems to be fined
Mary Berg back into the game and another chance to
see a new blue devil out there on the court
tonight as the least doll sophomore from Osio Fairchild here
in Wisconsin checks in Ossio fair Chiwl though about forty

(01:54:02):
five minutes away or so, not too far here from
a nominee due east. Nice catch inside as they top
it up top to have love it, she pops and
hits a three. They marked at a two on the
board seventy seven to fifty three, seventy seven to fifty

(01:54:23):
three stout, they did mark it a two, and they.

Speaker 2 (01:54:25):
Did call it a two, Amaleka.

Speaker 1 (01:54:27):
They're driving left side, left handed layup, no just misses
and ten passed with.

Speaker 2 (01:54:31):
The rebound and a foul call here on the reach
in by Doll.

Speaker 1 (01:54:36):
Three o eight to go. Yeah, they are confirmed officials.
They'd say that was a two. Said stepped on.

Speaker 2 (01:54:52):
The line there.

Speaker 1 (01:54:54):
On that last bucket three four to go here in
the fourth right now up top here for Miller for ripping.
She gave some good minutes in that first half. And
now a two hands on the back file on Malika.
That is the fourth on stouts, and now both teams
be shooting free throws for the remainder of the contest.

(01:55:17):
Sot out last year with a couple of wins to
get to the sweet sixteen and then go back to
two thousand and seven, the last time they'd made the
tournament before that is, here's a corner three and a
foul call on a last dahl Anna Farney is the
one who took the three. She's gonna head the line
for three shots, Hannah Iverson. Hannah Iverson pulled the line

(01:55:40):
out of the peknots and playbook there and said, what
are we doing? Not quite as weird as I say it,
more demonstrative than I say. Seventy seven to fifty three
stouts to forty nine to go here in the fourth
and Varney get ahead of the line of seventy three
percent free throw shooter and her first one will rattle
off again. If you want to tune into the postgame

(01:56:02):
press conference, which will be streamed live on the SOUT website.
Go to Steublue Devils dot com and just click on
the tournament link tournament page basically that we have set
up there.

Speaker 2 (01:56:12):
Pretty easy to find it.

Speaker 1 (01:56:12):
Right on the one of the first if not the
first story that you click on in stell Blue Devils
dot com. You can stream the live press conference after
the conclusion of this game. We'll try to get a
quick word from Hannah Iverson and from likely Regan Sowrenson.

Speaker 2 (01:56:25):
At the end of this game.

Speaker 1 (01:56:26):
If a Stout does hold on here seventy seven to
fifty five after two out of three made pre throws,
there there's Mary Berg across the timeline at Madison Melica
on the right wing back to Berg. She wants another three.
She's got another three.

Speaker 10 (01:56:38):
Man.

Speaker 1 (01:56:39):
She is good, isn't she? Marry Berg with three of
five shooting from beyond the arc. Tonight, eighty to fifty
five Stout left corner three from rau Wulf. That is
way too strong and it's last touch by rip Oh no,
they say Burg touch. It last looked like it went
off the foot of Miller. Nonetheless, it stays with the RedHawks.
Two twenty six ago, the RedHawks traveled really, really well

(01:56:59):
here tonight, and you can see all that red behind
the benches and behind our spot even moves a little
further as well as we get a foul call man
that will send the RedHawks to the line. Quick look
around the WYAC and women's basketball Oshkosh wins sixty one
to fifty two. But they had all they could handle

(01:57:20):
with Calvin tonight. Calvin was I say underseeded it they
were with some of the losses they took. They ended
up being a really dangerous team. P how low they
were in the NPI. But they do beat them. So
they'll take on Bethel tomorrow. So if Stout can finish
it off here tonight, the wayak will go four of
five and more out of five, basically four to one

(01:57:41):
in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

Speaker 2 (01:57:43):
On the women's side and on the men's side.

Speaker 1 (01:57:46):
Blatville looks like they're on the way to a win
against Grenell and lacrosse with they won twenty to ninety
three win against Greenville, So Lacrosse Saint Norbert tomorrow night
from the Lacrosse Center. They're not playing that one off
campus there as well. Here comes Julia, ride Backie, you
run back, you out to Letcher, Letcher to ride Backie.

(01:58:09):
Your pass to Letcher is intercepted, deflected there by the
sophomore Soaphie Shleeviy and just checked into the game here
for ripping. Good screen set up from her on the
other end as well, and an extra step. They're not
gonna call it. Mary Bergs just gonna get the ball.
I'm sure if that'll be a rebound or a steal,
but nonetheless, she's got to bounce it to Letcher left block.
Letcher is to kick it back out top to Rye

(01:58:30):
Backie right back you to the hoop. They're at times
she'll finish it eighty two fifty five style to go
here in the court.

Speaker 2 (01:58:38):
It's a heck of a day for the Wayaki combine
women and men.

Speaker 1 (01:58:42):
And we got a time out taken or a technical
foul given on timeout there's no signal given.

Speaker 2 (01:58:50):
Is this a substitution timeout?

Speaker 1 (01:58:52):
As the letchers checks out and has some hugs here,
and this is where the seniors will have to depart.
Miller are gonna check out along with Farney. Farney a
senior from Winna Connie. And that's a nice, good sportsman
like move there from the Blue Devils, faithful giving a
nice round of applause to the Ripping players who are

(01:59:13):
playing their last games here tonight. Bring Miller a senior
as well from Fond de Laca, the transfer from debute.

Speaker 2 (01:59:21):
Ripping had a heck of a season.

Speaker 1 (01:59:22):
It's gonna come up short here though, in the first round,
and we are going to be set up for one
heck of a battle tomorrow night between Whitman and Stout.
Stout eighty two Ripping fifty five drive in at low.
It's out on the left wing around it's three that
one is missed. Malka with the rebound for Stout. Alico
will bring it in the front court. Man get it
off here to alast Dall. It's all trying to enter

(01:59:45):
it into Will Trout and Will Trout get a bucket,
Yes you can, there's a step through and the left
hand eighty four fifty five Maria Wiltrout on the board
here for the Blue doubles eighty four fifty five Blue Devils.
Forty eight seconds remain here in the fourth. Take a

(02:00:05):
quick break at the end of regulation here will take
a minute break, come back with a quick postgame show.
Hopefully have both Reagan Sorens and a coach iverson on
as well. Layup goes for ripping eighty four to fifty seven.
Stout leads a twelve second differential between game and shocklock. Here.
Here's Elise Dall salth may just take the shotlock violation.
Julia right backy on the high right side. Doll.

Speaker 2 (02:00:28):
They're gonna let doll shoot.

Speaker 1 (02:00:29):
She'll let Dall shoot. Get it back to doll. They
want her to shoot right Backie instead is gonna move
in left side of lane. Got three to shoot back
out the doll. She pops it. Oh, oh, she hit it.
That's the biggest smile you see the night. She will
not be able to wipe that smile off until weeks later.

(02:00:51):
Eighty seven fifty seven Blue Devils Ripping. Just gonna let
the clock run. Listen to this crowd like an earthquake
down there. Holy cow. Eighty seven fifty seven win for

(02:01:20):
the Blue Devils here tonight over ripping, and it should
be a lot of fun as well.

Speaker 2 (02:01:26):
So it's gonna be a fun on special.

Speaker 1 (02:01:27):
Thanks to Ben for his great job today here on
the NCAA Sports Network. We will be back tomorrow night
again at seven fifteen with a seven o'clock pre game show.

Speaker 2 (02:01:35):
Ready for you there as well. A great job by
everybody again.

Speaker 1 (02:01:38):
In final score here in the opening round it's UW
Stout eighty seven, ripping fifty seven Stout Whipman tomorrow night again.

Speaker 2 (02:01:45):
