Time to talk Santa. As the time of year is here.
Even though it's you know, relatively mild and there isn't
any snow on the ground, the United States Post Office
does something called Operation Santa, and Tanya Jay Powers our
little Christmas Elf joins us on the liveline from New
York City with Fox News Radio. Good morning, Tanya, Thank
(00:29):
good morning.
Speaker 3 (00:30):
Hey.
Speaker 1 (00:30):
You got kids they dig this time of year. What
does the Post Office do and how can we help?
Speaker 2 (00:35):
Well, the Post Office does Operation Santa and has for
more than one hundred years now. It is letters to
Santa that gets set to Santa at the at the
North Pole. Of course, Santa's address by the way, one,
it's Santa just you know, just Santa one two three
(00:55):
Elf Road, North Pole eight eight eight eight eight. I'm
going to give you that again in just a minute,
so if you need it, to grab a pen. Today
is the day that people can start adopting letters to
Santa in Operation Santa. Santa is a busy guy. I
mean you think about all the kids and all the
people writing letters to Santa that get into the post office,
(01:19):
the postal service, and you know that's he's just one
guy and he needs some help. So we have a
chance to be you know, come to some elves and
help out Santa here by adopting these letters, whether you
get sent to the post office, and you can go
online and learn more about this how to either send
a letter or how to adopt one of the letters
that's been sent. USPS operationsanta dot com is the website
(01:44):
USPS operationsanta dot com that is where you go to
get all the information about either sending a letter in
you can write to Santa, or you can adopt one
of the letters. This is of course one of the
big days because a letter adoption starts today. In about
an hour and twenty minutes, people will be able to
(02:08):
adopt the letters. You can actually read them online. Now,
you do have to register and create an account and
be verified before you can adopt a letter, because you know,
Santa I've got to make sure you're not on the
Nauti list, you know what I mean. He needs to
make sure all the folks adopting letters are on the
Knife list and checked out and verified ahead of time,
so you can go ahead and actually do that. And
(02:30):
then once you're verified and your account is creating everything,
you can adopt a letter. They will be taking. Letters
to Santa can be written up until December sixth. This
for Operation Santa, So if you know somebody who would
like to send one in, they have until December sixth
to get that done. They also have said that Santa
(02:52):
has said, look if you can, if you can send
gifts from these letters back, if you can ship those
packages by December thirteen, that is the date that you
need to have them sent by, So they're you know,
there for the holiday. But it's it's kind of a
cool thing. And I mean, how often do we get
to play help or Asanta.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
Well, Tanya, I got to tell you my kids saw
the first kind of decked out Santa post office box
the other day and they were just overwhelmed. They were
so excited about this. And I have to assume that
the people helping out Santa get such as m Mutt
as much joy. Is there any kind of age limit
on this or if you're verified, you're good to go.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
I think it's if you're verified, you're good to go.
There are Yeah, like I said, there's a verification process
and registration at that website that I gave you, USPS
Operation Santa dot com. That is where you can find
out all the information when you when letter and don't
worry about the the safety aspects of this because they

how do you you know, keep the same safety of
the person who is sending the letter. The personal identification
stuff like that is kept safe and secure. It's not
just you know, handed out to everybody. So you can
actually read about how they how they do that and
how they protect the letter writers as well. So if
(04:17):

website out and it will it will explain all of
that and how that's done. They've got a lot of
other answers to questions as well that you might have
if you're interested in either sending a letter or adopting one.
