Speaker 1 (00:24):
We are having a spirited conversation about death by lightning
during the news. We should have been listening, O good.
Federal authorities are targeting illegal immigrants with a history of
crime in the streets of North Carolina's capital city in
an operation nickname Operation Charlotte's Web. Here is DHS Secretary
(00:46):
Christy No.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
We're using the investigative cases that we've built on these
individuals in that area to go out and after the
worst of the worst. We're going after people who've committed robberies, assaults. DUIs.
Speaker 1 (00:59):
That is on protates taking place Saturday against it Jesse

Speaker 4 (01:21):
I know that food is going to kill them, and
it's killing poor people at a much higher rate because
they live in food deserts. We know that we don't
need to study to show that.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
More about how that could change. During the bottom of
the hour, news and Houses planning to vote on the
bill to have the Justice Department release the Jeffrey Epstein files.
Kentucky Congressman James Comer.
Speaker 5 (01:43):
They've released what they can legally release. There's grand jury testimony,
and the Trump administration asked the judge to release that
grand jury testimony, and the judge, who was an Obama appointee,
rejected the Trump Department of Justice request to release. That's
the great jury touchway, so judge has to issue that.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
We'll get the latest. Ryan Schmells on the story in Washington,
DC at seven thirty seven.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
Also trending this morning, Boy, we are going to have
not just a packed Thanksgiving a football but halftime performances.
The NFL has now released the full schedule. Of course,
it includes Jack White of the White Stripes. We will
see that during the Lions Packers game on Thanksgiving eminem
executive producing that show. During the Cowboys Chiefs game, we're
(02:29):
going to see post Malone doing the halftime show, and
then during Baltimore taking on Cincinnati, it's going to be
low John, no boy. By the way, post Malone's performance
is going to serve as the Salvation Army's Red Kettle
kickoff moments. Okay, yep, so the charity will be starting
on that one.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
Steve's a big fan of the White Stripes.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
Fresh off of his Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, Right, yeah, cool?
Is that really good?
Speaker 6 (02:56):
How about this for interesting? We've talked about this the
last couple of weeks, but now it's heating up. A
private capital plan that would have infused two point four
billion that's with a B into Big Ten athletic departments
has been paused in the face of opposition from league members.
Michigan and USC. You See Investments, which is tied to
the pension fund of the University of California, announced yesterday
(03:18):
they would wait for a unity among conference schools before proceeding.
The plan calls for the league to spin off a
new entity, Big Ten Enterprises, which would house all league
wide media rights and sponsorship deals. In exchange for the
two point four billion you see investments, will receive a
ten percent stake in Big ten enterprises. Now, the problem
(03:38):
is they're in the middle of a seven year, seven
billion media rights package that runs through twenty thirty. So
some of the schools like Michigan and USCERCA and wait
a minute, is this kind of a band aid thing
because the schools want money. They need it because of
their debt for stadium expansions or whatever might be going
on in their particular university's athletic department. So Michigan and
(03:59):
USCOSA and let's hold the phone on this. Yesterday, Michigan
Region Jordan Acker told Serious XM radio that the school
remained opposed and found it nearly impossible to sign a
grant of rights extension for twenty one years. So now
people are saying, well, if this goes through, will Michigan
break away from the Big ten and kind of do
their own thing, maybe like a Notre Dame because of
their brand, so Westernate, Yeah, we'll have to wait and see,
(04:21):
because now we just got all these schools to come
in to the Big ten, which is now they don't
do the math right, eighteen.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
Sorry, but I am not sympathetic with university's death. They're
making a hundred million dollars a year on football alone.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
I hear it.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
If you got a kid that's ever gone there, it's
not cheap. I'm mad it's only six eleven. Those are
just some of the stories we are following for you.
