Speaker 1 (00:01):
It's one thing for you guys to be listening to
us live on six to NWTVN, but we also love
it when you tune into our Facebook live posts that
are going on right now. In fact, hy Annette, we
miss you too.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Yeah, we miss you, and at we saw you. We're
on there.

Speaker 3 (00:15):
Well, we'll comment and interact with you guys there throughout
the show. You know, there is a really exciting exhibit
at Cosai right now that we are dying to go
see at my house and.

Speaker 4 (00:26):
It is truly out of this world.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
It is Josh Starver with Cosai is in with us
their chief experience officer. Welcome to the show, Josh, and
been a minute since we've seen you. Glad to have
you in for Doctor b.

Speaker 4 (00:39):
Well, hello there everybody.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
Yeah, So what's going on at Cosai right now?

Speaker 5 (00:43):
We have an exciting exhibition called Unofficial Galaxies. It's a
Star Wars exhibition. It's the largest collection in the world
of Star Wars memorabilia toys. We've got some props as
part of the exhibition, some scripts and some full size StarCraft.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
Some scripts that's cool for which movie which so many
of them actually have all three of the original scripts
on display. Wow.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
And then some I don't want to say life size,
but you know what I mean, like full size ships
or like what's going on or start whatever you call.

Speaker 4 (01:15):
The starships starships.

Speaker 5 (01:17):
So we've got the snow Speeder from Empire strikes Back
where you can actually simulate and do the scene and
take your photo there where the atat foot is getting
ready to smash it and Luke Skywalker jumps out of
the way, so you can be a part of that photography.
In there, you can also go see the advanced tie
Fighter which Darth Vader flew in New Hope. And then
also we have an x Wing, full size x Wing

(01:38):
for everyone to take a look at.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
Amazing. How can you fit all that?

Speaker 3 (01:44):
Actually?

Speaker 1 (01:44):
How can you?

Speaker 5 (01:45):
It is pretty impressive. When we were talking about this
exhibition about a year ago, we knew what props that
we had coming in from the exhibition itself, but we
wanted to augment it a little bit, and so we
worked together with a company out of Dayton, Ohio to
build these starships. They with them in a warehouse, we
had to disassemble them, take them up our freight elevator
and reassemble them at Kosai. Some of the pieces over

(02:07):
seven thousand pounds, so it's quite impressive.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
Oh, I was going to say you looked a little
buff to me those pieces to get them together.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
You know, the last time I've really had a full
immersive Star Wars experience and it was amazing, was back
in twenty nineteen when we took the kids to Disney World.
And I mean I like Star Wars. I grew up
in a house with three girls. We were not like
totally into it, but I was so impressed, like a
goosebump situation when I was at Disney World. So I'm

(02:38):
really excited to see some of this full size stuff
and to learn more. To have so much spread out there.

Speaker 5 (02:44):
Yeah, we hope that we're creating similar experience at Kosai.
You know, we like to be immersive experience. Whether it's
our progress exhibition or ocean, we would like to immerse
you in that environment. We do the same thing with
unofficial Galaxies. We take you to the desert, we take
you to the ice world of Hath, We take you
to the dark side inside of the space station itself,
and then through the Jedi temple and then eventually to

(03:04):
a rebel outpost and we'll finish it off with a
little bit of a drink at the Cantena.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
Oh so good.

Speaker 5 (03:11):
That ye.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
Because Star Wars has been for so many years, this
can't be the first time that something like this has
been to our Kosai.

Speaker 4 (03:20):
That's right.

Speaker 5 (03:20):
In two thousand and six we had the exhibition Science
Meets Imagination and that was a Star Wars exhibition, so
it's been quite some time since we've had this theme.
So we're excited to bring it back. It was a
super huge hit at that time, and we've seen the
results so far. We've been only opened for two weeks
and we're opened through Labor Day with this exhibition, so
we hope individuals will come on down because we do

(03:41):
anticipate the tickets to sell out.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
Well, we are going to get some individuals there because
we have a giveaway today we do.

Speaker 5 (03:48):
What are we giving away, Jos, We've got some VIP
tickets to Kosai which include unofficial Galaxies as well as
the Shark exhibition at Kosai.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
Shark exhibition's pretty cool too. Yeah, it's good for going
into summer. It really is to stay away from the water, right,
So if we do this, you guys, let people call
up give us just tell us their favorite character from
any Star Wars movie is that?

Speaker 4 (04:10):
Okay, I love it.

Speaker 5 (04:11):
That's fantastic.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
Four pack of VIP tickets giving them away six one
four eight two one nine eight eighty six six one
four eight two one WTVN call now for your chance
to win. And while we're getting the callers coming in,
you just wrapped up Kosai Science Festival.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
That's right.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
I feel like I heard a lot about it, but
it was during what ended up being a really rainy season.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
That's right.

Speaker 5 (04:32):
We did have some really fantastic community events throughout the
first three days at the festival, so over one hundred
events all throughout our community, and that's what it's really
all about. We're showcasing that science is everywhere for everyone,
and the community rallied to that. So we had wonderful events.
And then on that Saturday, we had the big Science
Celebration and in Clo Kosai classic style, we like toe

(04:52):
set some records. It was the rainiest day in Columbus
history for that particular day.

Speaker 4 (04:58):
It was crazy, but.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
We still a terrain fell do you know, over.

Speaker 5 (05:01):
An inch and a half. I believe that day, like
during that.

Speaker 4 (05:04):
Time when it rains at poors, it was pouring throughout
the day.

Speaker 5 (05:07):
But it's okay because we saw over fifteen thousand individuals
come down and enjoy their experience with us that day
at all the booths all around, COSI.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
Fifteen thousands still with an inch and a half of runt.

Speaker 4 (05:19):
That's right.

Speaker 5 (05:20):
And one of my favorite quotes that day. I was
walking around getting soaked in the rain. But there was
a young kid inside one of the booths doing some
hands on activities, and he was in there for about
twenty minutes, and he turns around and he said, I
was having so much fun. I forgot it was raining
out here. And then he moved on to the next experience.
It's just amazing to see how our community really rallies.
Our partners were amazing that day, Our sponsors were fantastic,

(05:43):
So I really appreciate everyone showing up.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
Did you see anybody sing in the rain?

Speaker 4 (05:49):
It might have been doing that myself.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
And more was like science in the rain?

Speaker 1 (05:54):
Right, that actually sounded pretty good. Maybe maybe she's onto.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
Something, maybe science science in the rain.

Speaker 6 (06:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
I actually weather is a part of science. I mean
it really is.

Speaker 4 (06:03):
That's right.

Speaker 5 (06:03):
We did have our meteorologists down there for the day,
you're just showcasing the science behind it. And what I
really love that day is we actually did have an
orchestra that day. It was a Tesla coil orchestra.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
What is a Tesla coil orchestra?

Speaker 5 (06:17):
So that's where they actually take the energy around you
and force it in through this coil and then it
explodes out of the top and if you mix it
up with music, you have this really cool sound effect.
And so we had some Star Wars music, we had
some John Williams music just playing with it. It was amazing.

Speaker 3 (06:32):
I feel like I saw you all in different communities.
I know that's part of it, but you weren't Hilliard.
I didn't know if you were with the schools or
something else. Do you partner with the schools for the
science festival?

Speaker 5 (06:43):
We do, in fact, and we want to make sure
that the schools understand that this is a great opportunity
to extend the learning beyond the school itself and get
it out into whether it's the parks itself, or the
colleges or the corporations.

Speaker 4 (06:55):
And so I believe.

Speaker 5 (06:55):
In Hilliard we had what was called an egg drop experience,
and so the firefighters came out with their ladder truck
and we had the kids come over and the adults
as well, put together these egg drop kits and then
take it up to the top of the ladder and
drop it down. It was amazing to see the reaction
of individuals as they're surprised by, you know, shockingly that
their egg survived the drop, and it was from a
three story drop, so it's quite impressive.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
Very impressive. We've got the phone lines lighting up. Let's
go to Gary.

Speaker 4 (07:20):
First.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
Gary, you get to tell us your favorite character of
any of the Star Wars movies.

Speaker 7 (07:26):
That's a tough one, but I'd probably say Hans Solo.
Just a rugged, rough character who's no nonsense that likes
to fight back.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
Yeah, and I think he's pretty cute and pretty funny
in real life too, Harrison.

Speaker 3 (07:43):
For all right, Gary, make sure you give your information
to our producer will make.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
A decision on who wins at the end.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (07:51):
Ok, thank thanks.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
You go to Ann.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
You want to go to Ann and you're on what matters?
What's your favorite character out of Star Wars?

Speaker 6 (08:00):
Yoda?

Speaker 1 (08:02):
Yoda?

Speaker 2 (08:03):
Why Yoda?

Speaker 6 (08:07):
I guess because I'm an English major and the fact
that he's talking backwards is kind of intriguing. That's that's
a technical, right, And then I went back and go
to zoology degree, so of course you know other plants
and all that. So yeah, it's oh.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
You got the combo going there science.

Speaker 6 (08:22):
And absolutely when's the last time? And then then the
other thing is Kosaiah is important to us because last
time we were there was with my husband and he
passed away in December, So it's just it'd be nice
to go again.

Speaker 1 (08:35):
Guess something kind of tells me you'll be going again
and stick around.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
Give our producer your information.

Speaker 3 (08:40):
Thank you for sharing with us, and Tony, you're with
us on what matters? Who is your favorite Star Wars character?

Speaker 6 (08:48):
Hello, it's Darth Vader.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
Dun Dun dunk. You struck a nerve, Josh? Can they
all three win?

Speaker 2 (08:58):
You know?

Speaker 4 (08:59):
I think I think they all should win. These are
really great characters, characters.

Speaker 5 (09:04):
Stories, great memories, and I think that's what's beautiful about
Star Wars in this particular exhibition. It's an exhibition for everybody,
no matter what the age, because we've all sort of
grown up with this and so we all have memories.

Speaker 1 (09:15):
Tony wins. The last time you've been to Kosai?

Speaker 6 (09:20):
Oh, it's been like a year and a half, two years,
it's been a while.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
I love Yeah, they all deserve it.

Speaker 3 (09:27):
Yes, all right, so Tony stand the line, give your
information to our producer Ashley.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
Thank you so much for calling in. I mean, ah,
all of them.

Speaker 3 (09:36):
Yes, and I love the zoologist English gal, Like, h.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
Can I tell you something honest with both you guys
and everyone listening. I didn't know you had to talk backwards.
That's the whole thing.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
Give us a line, Josh, because I don't know well enough.

Speaker 4 (09:50):
Like it's like, break break that sentence up into different parts?

Speaker 5 (09:54):
Do I?

Speaker 2 (09:55):
That's how he does it?

Speaker 3 (09:56):
Break the sentence up into different parts, do I?

Speaker 2 (10:00):
I do?

Speaker 1 (10:00):
Yes? Great, just near enough to realize.

Speaker 3 (10:02):
I think Baby Yoda's like the cutest I know, that's
like new wave Star Wars, but I.

Speaker 5 (10:07):
Mean, Grogan's fantastic, very cute character. And it's got a
movie coming out soon.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
I probably will be seeing it.

Speaker 1 (10:14):
Yeah, I would have probably gone old school C three
PO or R two D two.

Speaker 5 (10:17):
I like this.

Speaker 4 (10:18):
Those are the droids that you're looking for. So I
love it.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
Margarita. I'll be emailing her, thank you so much for that.

Speaker 3 (10:24):
Margarita is our fantastic gal Atksai who works with us
after we do giveaway.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
So so glad about that.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
And we do have one more giveaway because you do
have a Kosai after Dark coming up in the next
few weeks.

Speaker 5 (10:35):
That's right, we do have a Cosa after Dark. I
think that's June twelfth. Prom is the theme.

Speaker 4 (10:40):
So if you want to give it up second shot,
we're third or fourth.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
I ad dress back up in prom days and go absolutely.
How fun is that?

Speaker 2 (10:48):
I love it?

Speaker 3 (10:49):
Okay, So we're gonna give away a four pack of
tickets to Kosai after Dark. It's June twelfth, just so
you know to check your calendar.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
Let's give those away the second hour.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
Okay, you want to wait to do it, well, we'll.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
Get a graduation story, something that they've experienced that would
you be really great to pair with graduation. I love that, Okay,
so we'll hold off on that because of Prom.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
Yeah, Prom, graduation, Josh, is there anything else going on
that you want to let us know about while you're
in studio?

Speaker 5 (11:14):
You know, we've got a lot of great things going
on this summer, whether it's Shark's unofficial galaxies. We've also
got June twelfth we've got the kickoff of big Machines
where you can come and jump into the cab with
some of those big construction equipment. Or in August we

great demonstration in booth there for everybody.

Speaker 2 (11:33):
Ooh, that's a really good teaser.

Speaker 3 (11:34):
We'll want to talk about that in July because well
actually before July, because it's the end of July.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
The pair will be going to end of June. We'll
definitely want to talk about it.

Speaker 1 (11:43):
It's just a great time when kids are out of
school looking for things to do and still keep that
mind stimulated.

Speaker 4 (11:49):
That's right.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
Size is the perfect place to go.

Speaker 5 (11:51):
Yeah, don't want to see that summer slip, So come
on down to Koside or look for opportunities in your community.
