Speaker 1 (00:00):
We were.
Speaker 2 (00:01):
We were in depth in the break about personality types
and tests that we both have taken. Coming out of
the segment with Ann, you're saying she's so good.
Speaker 3 (00:10):
Yeah, she is very very warm.
Speaker 1 (00:11):
I mean just counselors have that skill set, the good
counselors at that right of just making people feel comfortable
and not challenging and just being willing to work through something.
Speaker 3 (00:23):
Yes, it's a hard skill to have.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
As we were talking, it is a hard skill. Did
you did you have a date for Valentine's Day? Did
you not?
Speaker 3 (00:30):
No date for Valentine's Day?
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Okay, because no one on is fitting your list right now?
Speaker 1 (00:37):
You got a I've got a strict criteria there, so
but yeah, there's a there's a lot there.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
Well, and then you get to be like an old
merry gal like me or Mindy and we had Valentine's
Day on Thursday nights.
Speaker 1 (00:49):
Well, I'll tell you I don't. I'm not a big
believer in Valentine's Day regardless.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
You think it's just like the card holiday, it's a.
Speaker 1 (00:54):
Made up holiday to make some money. Yeah, you know,
I think you should have Valentine's Day every day, right.
Speaker 2 (00:59):
That's some girls are really gonna like that. I can
tell you about.
Speaker 3 (01:02):
That romantic let's not go that far, but you get
the idea.
Speaker 2 (01:05):
I do, you know, I enjoy it for my kids.
I think my mom was really good about like getting
us a card and some candy when we were kids,
so I try to do that for the boys. I
got them some really fun socks, some Ago socks and
some Doritos socks that are super We like funny socks
at my house. And Marcus and I went downtown to
(01:25):
Butcher and Rows.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
Great spot.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
Have you been there a lot? This is our first
time there.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
I just opened in July. Yeah, and an awesome ambiance.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
You feel like you're sitting in New York City.
Speaker 3 (01:38):
That's a great way to put it. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
I'm a big fan of just Chine steakhouses around town,
especially there's not a lot of them. Yeah, and Columbus
that are really nice like that, and just this service
is great. It's very expensive, but it is very tasty
and you just get a good experience every time you go.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
We love a good steakhouse too, and we try to
go to one when we have something we're celebrating.
Speaker 3 (01:58):
Right special occasions.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
Do you have a favorite right now?
Speaker 3 (02:02):
Jeff Rubys is the best.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
That is your favorite best.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
And it's it's kind of by far.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
Really, he feel strongly about it.
Speaker 1 (02:10):
I don't say that to put any of the rest down.
That's just how highly I think of Jeffrey. Like Butcher
and Rose, I think that is extremely good.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
I mean, you can't beat I haven't been to del
Mar at Easton yet. I've heard that that is very beautiful,
but you cannot beat the opulence of Butcher and Rose
anywhere else in Columbus right now. I do know that
we are Hyde Park people hide Park, and you know
why we are. I mean we go to Jeff Rube's
(02:39):
at least one time a year after the kids go
to camp, after we drop them off. We go Sunday
after the show because usually he's dropping them off and
I'm here. We go sit at the bar and just
enjoy cocktails and again, beautiful place and it's really good.
But he's not a big fan of the char that's
on the stake.
Speaker 3 (02:58):
That makes sense and so real particular things.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
And Hyde Park doesn't have the char. Put your and
Rose had a little char on my steak. It does,
it does, but yeah, I enjoyed it. The cocktails were beautiful.
I had one great wine list and the girl the
girls were out for on the Thursday before, I was like, holy,
(03:21):
some of these skirts are a little short. They were
out on Thursday. I was like, whoa, So, yes we did.
We did Valentine's Day on Thursday. And you were talking
about handwritten notes earlier. My husband is always good with
a card and so nothing crazy for Valentine's Day, but
always good with a card, which I think is so important.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
Your heart done.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
It it does. It just makes you feel good. I'm
a person who saves those notes too, you know, because
they mean so much if you look back at them
over time. So yeah, but steak has okay, you're you're
rubies guy.
Speaker 3 (03:56):
Yeah, I'm a big foodie too.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
Like I just love China restaurants and go on to
a bunch of different spots.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
Well where else should we be trying right now? Is
there any new like spot that you think people should
dig non steakhouse.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
Non steakhouse, So like, I don't know, there's just so
many different levels you can go with this, Like, you know,
for breakfast, I love a DK diner. I don't know
if you've been there, But like people that's hole in
the wall. People don't really know about it. It's an
awesome spot. Cap City Diner is a big one for me.
I think Cap City Diner. That's another camera Mitchell and
it's just like you know, Butcher and Rose. But there's
some of the go toos. I love north Star too.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
Oh, north Star is so good. I love north Star
for breakfast, lunch, whatever. Yeah, I went to you know,
we have a James Beard semi finalist here in town. Yeah,
so Joya's.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
Oh yeah, have you been to Worthington.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
Worthington, I went yesterday with my friends.
Speaker 3 (04:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
My friend just told me about that the other day
of how great it was. So one of my friends,
so his wife has like an Instagram account, okay, where
she basically goes out to all these restaurants and does reviews. Yeah,
and so they give her a bunch of like free
food and like all Yeah, so they go to all
these different He gave me like a list of like
five new ones to Tchie that I'm like, I've never
heard I've heard in four whels before, but there's like
a list of four others that I've never heard of
(05:07):
that before.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
Do you know off the top of your head. The
name of her account.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
I know what I can find.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
You can look at it. Yeah, so we went to
Joya's yesterday and it's you can't make a reservation and
you walk in and there's a line coming out the
door and it's a small area. I'll tell you what
I mean. We didn't know. Oh so darn good. I
got some kind of like sticky fried rice situation.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
Did you get butcher and rose? Did you get the
honey thing for a dessert?
Speaker 2 (05:37):
What is it called honey butter cake?
Speaker 3 (05:39):
And that thing amazing?
Speaker 2 (05:41):
It's sitting in my refrigerator at home. You're gonna be
like Mikayla. Why, Yeah, buttercake is a big Saint Louis thing,
and so at Miszoo we were talking about me going
to Missouri earlier. I've been familiar with buttercake for a while.
It was quite good with the berries, but I did
not you know, I was so full.
Speaker 3 (06:00):
Yeah this stuff you're.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
There, Okay, you'll have to tell us too. We got it.
We're up against the break. We'll have to find this
Instagram account because I'm curious. But yeah, guys, Joya's, it's
James Beard is the real deal. This like based out
of New York City award that's given every year. But
we're going to talk about your retirement. Maybe you shouldn't
be going out to eat all that much. I think
that's what Joe's gonna tell us. Coming back. We'll talk
(06:22):
Peek retirement, his company that he's been building and really
done incredible things over the last four years after being
in the industry for about what.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
Did you say about I'm about ten years?
Speaker 2 (06:32):
About ten years, okay, so pretty cool. We'll have some
good thoughts for you on your money and
