Speaker 1 (00:09):
We're back.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
We're back for good News, which is sponsored by Cattletale
Portable alarm system SOLO coming to you soon. Solow that
you heard about it first on the What Matters Show.
But Brian has truly believes, obviously in Tuttletale, but also
in good news about being the light, being the positive
light in people's lives. And that's why Tattletale also sponsors

(00:30):
our good News segment.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
So what do you have, Mikaylas.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
So, I have two pieces of good news.

Speaker 4 (00:35):
First of all, we all know and love Rush's Bakery, correct,
I mean it's been around forever.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
It's on the east side of town.

Speaker 4 (00:42):
Well, one of their former employees is opening a new
bakery in central Ohio, so you don't have to always
drive all the way over to Rush's. It's on livincin
An Avenue, the current location, and it's going to stay there.
But Chris Kokowski, a former employee for twenty years or more,
is opening KKP Bakery and Grove City. It's at thirty
six twenty one Southwest Boulevard in the Beulah Park neighborhood.

(01:05):
It's not open yet, but cannot wait. Rashus is so delicious.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
I don't know if there's any human being in central
Ohio who hasn't heard of or at least been to Rush.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
It's been such a staple.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
But that's funny that you bring up a bakery because
one of my good news stories has to do with
a bakery that I've never been to. And I saw
this on social media. It's in Cambridge, Ohio. Oh yeah,
it's called Kennedy's Bakery. It's celebrating one hundred years.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
One hundred years a bakery.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
I was looking at all different things that they've made
through the years and what they have created from the
very beginning of time than to a century later, and
to still be around for one hundred years as a bakery,
it's pretty incredible.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
It is pretty incredible.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
So my other good news and you're gonna love this.
It sound and I want you to hear this. I
sent this to our producer Chris. We all know how
important caretakers are, whether they are a family member looking
after a mom, a dad, or a grandparent, or if
it's someone that you have to hire and bring into
someone's home. Well, there was I'm gonna say this girl's

(02:12):
probably in her mid to upper twenties and she was
taking care of a man and is still taking care
of this man.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
But she was always so touched because he's a widow.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
His wife died I don't know how many years ago,
but every night when she would help this man into bed,
he would take the wife, the ex y, the past wife,
her picture and sleep with her picture by his side.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
In bed with him.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
So she went and took that picture and got a
really nice pillow a man for this man, totally out
of the blue, just a caretaker of this man, not
family at all. I want you to hear the reaction
when she gave it to him. So go ahead and play.

Speaker 3 (02:56):
This, Chris, you didn't send me this sound. Hold on,
she has a lot of sound stowed up.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
You know why I didn't send this one to you
because this one I actually got off of X. And
I know if I send you things off of X,
you can't always play it. So there's certain things that
I have to keep to myself and then play it
on the air. So I'm going to find my own
thing that I sent to me. Here it is all
right now Again, this is this man's reaction to when

(03:28):
he sees this pillow, a picture of his bride who
had died and I don't even know how many years ago.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
It's not loading. Do you have another good news story?
I do, Okay, go ahead, this loads.

Speaker 4 (03:41):
So there's been a lot of talk about DEI this week,
what it is, what it isn't. And I have a
good story that comes from women. So I wanted to
share this. I think it's pretty amazing. The first ever
women's owned bank opened in Ohio on Thursday, a women's
women owned bank, women owned bank for Tuna Bank, which

(04:03):
is in Grand View, is the first in Ohio, and
Mindy it is one of only thirteen women owned banks
across the United States.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
There's only thirteen of them.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
Oh my gosh.

Speaker 4 (04:13):
And you know, here's here's what I will say about this,
because I want to get to Mindy sound because she's
getting it pulled up.

Speaker 3 (04:18):
You know, we think about Mindy.

Speaker 4 (04:20):
You know, I believe in hard work, and I think
hard work gets us anywhere. But sometimes, you know, in
history there are folks who haven't been able to do
the things that look like me or look like you,
And so I think in this case, it's just giving
an opportunity for women to do something great.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
And actually there's no like discount.

Speaker 4 (04:39):
There's no situation where you know they they have to
be just as regulated as any other community bank. But
these Denovo banks, people are starting banks to be able
to lend more to people who look like me if
I had a business, and I think it's awesome. So
for Tuna Bank, and yeah, look at Ohio, Ohio, this
is also crazy.

Speaker 3 (04:59):
We to the La San Diego Corridor. We have the
most Denovo banks in Ohio over the last few years.

Speaker 4 (05:07):
We're second in the nation when it comes to the
establishment of these community banks.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
And I think it's great. Different ways for people to
figure out how to raise capital and help other people
grow businesses. I think it's fantastic.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
I think it's great too if they are up to
it and they can make it work and be a success,
and all the power to them.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
They raise twenty million dollars, people.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
To succeed no matter who they are, no matter what
they are. I'm a huge believer of though you hire people.
You bring people on because they are the best person
for the job. I never ever would ever expect a
company to hire me just because I'm a woman.

Speaker 4 (05:41):
And I think I'm all about married as well. But
I think you got to recognize when.

Speaker 3 (05:45):
Women are frost kids.

Speaker 4 (05:47):
Absolutely.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
So that's why so.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
Many friends who run businesses and they're very successful women
and they don't want handouts. They don't want to be
successful just because they're a woman.

Speaker 4 (05:57):
But it's nice because they That is diversity too. It's
diversity when women are do that. So I believe in merit,
but I like a diverse business set. So yeah, I
thought I would bring up fortune.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
Now, okay, here is the sound. I found the sound
of this man receiving the pillow of his wife's picture,
so instead of sleeping with the picture the frame picture
every night, his caregiver gave him this picture of a
pillow with the wife on it.

Speaker 1 (06:21):
I got you a present.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
I got you a present.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
He's ninety four years old.

Speaker 5 (06:28):
Oh he's covering his face with a pillow right now.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
That's so sweet, What a great idea should run up?

Speaker 2 (06:55):
And then Ken is showing it to one of his
family who is there visiting. And I know what, it's
those little things in life. A simple pillow with his
wife who had passed away her picture on it, so
he can sleep with that every night.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
I loved that.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
I love when I see things like that, when people
go out of the way for others. I wanted to
share that.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
With all of you caregivers.

Speaker 4 (07:17):
Bake good, strong women. That's a good news segment. That's
a really good news segment.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
Right, That's exactly why Tattletale sponsors it, so we can
share more stories like that, because, you know what, we
hear way too much of the doom and the gloom
and the negativity. Oh my goshhould you watch any of
the hearings today trying to get the cabinet members confirmed.
You see these senators just I don't know if they're
trying to make spectacles of themselves, but you almost have

(07:44):
to turn it off.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
You're like, okay, enough, it's enough, all real.

Speaker 4 (07:48):
I have tuned out this week because it was so
hard last week, so now I did not watch it exactly.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
What wasn't today. I'm just talking about last week?

Speaker 2 (07:58):
What is what I'm talking about. This is why we
do this good news segment because we all could use
a little good news.

Speaker 3 (08:04):
When Josevic goes a long way, right, this is what matters.
You know, We got so much coming up. In the
next hour.

Speaker 4 (08:10):
We have Sam's Club in with the reasons you should
go plus guys.

Speaker 3 (08:15):
There are many reasons.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
And they have an event coming up that they are
going to be proud of and part of, so we
want to tell you about that as well.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
Yeah, you can be part of it too.

Speaker 4 (08:23):
That and romantic places to visit in Ohio with the
Ohio Chamber. Its all coming up at five. This is
