Speaker 1 (00:00):
Oh, if they're getting ready to leave their house.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Oh, that's a great idea. And it's portable, so you
can go take it with you if you go to
a hotel. By the way, we just left North Carolina
and we're in West Virginia now, but I'm not kidding you.
We were in the sixties Bundy at Sunshine. We're now
getting up to the first toll road here in West
Virginia and it's already colder and cloudy. But that's not
good news. Now. This news story, Michayla, happened to be with.

(00:26):
It happened Wednesday when President Trump signed the executive order
not allowing boys to play in girls sports anymore. And
you know, that was kind of going through my mind
as I'm watching these college softball players compete, and I
think that if you look at the numbers across the board,
eighty percent of Americans, whether you're a Republican, Democrat, Independent,

(00:47):
are really right in line with this. Most of the
people believe it's common sense. And I'm glad to see
that girl athletes are protected again when it comes to sports.
And I know you and I have talked about that.
We both agree with that issue.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
Right there's not a lot in the high school and
lower level right now. I want to say there's about
fifty across the country, but it's fifty and that shouldn't
be doing it at this point. And then in the
collegiate levels definitely more so. Does the NCAA have to
do anything on top of this order minded that's the
only thing I didn't know.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
Now a statement. They sent out a statement basically saying
thank you. At least now the guidelines have been made
so we don't have to have that gray area anymore.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
So they follow they'll put it in their own guidelines
for struts.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Got it, okay? Yes?

Speaker 2 (01:37):
Right? And it was really, you know, whether you're a
Trump fan or not, it was a neat moment to
see all these young girl athletes around him and they
were kind of back behind him, and he looked over
at all of them. He said, if you guys want
to come up here, you can. I don't think Secret
Service is going to have a problem with you guys.
And he kind of looked at the camera said, if
these guys are rest thread, we're in big trouble. But

(01:58):
it was just a really good for young girl athletes
in general. I mean, like nine hundred, over nine hundred
trophies and titles have been taken away from girls because
they were beaten out by the biological boys. So I'm
just you know what, It's just it is a common
sense thing. And the other thing is, how about President
Trump McKayla going to be the first sitting president to

(02:20):
go to the super Bowl this year. That's kind of
cool too.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
Yeah. I was watching the interview before I left the
house that he did with Was it Britt Keaton not
Brit Hume. I can't think of the guy's name. You
know who I'm talking about him? And Britt look a
little yes, thank you, Yes, that's who it was. And I,
you know, they had done the interview. They put it
together pretty quickly. It wasn't live. But what I will
say is I had no clue that a sitting president

(02:45):
had not been to the super Bowl, and I was
surprised by that.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
I said the exact same thing. I can't believe there's
not been another sitting president to go to the super Bowl.
Maybe for security reasons. It's the only thing I could
think of. But I thought that exact same thing as
I just found that out like a day or two ago.
I had no idea that no other sitting president had
been to a Super Bowl. Blew my mind.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
Yeah, And I know the NFL made some adjustments on
the field. I don't know if you saw some of
those headlines in advance of him being there.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
That was kind of interesting too.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
I think they took the end racism bits out of
the end zones.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
Yeah, to try to wonder if he'll see Taylor Swift.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
Well, I mean that would be the ultimate moment, right,
an ultimate of it in terms of bipartisan moment, if
that were the case they actually acknowledge each other, it
absolutely would be. You know, you were talking about how
lovely it was at the tournament and now you're in
West Virginia where, yes, it's coming down a few degrees.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
I have some good news for you today.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
The sun will set after six pm until November of
this year. What so, the sun will set after six
pm from here on out, and it will only go
before six pm and only set before six pm after November.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
Of this year. So we're on the way.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
Towards sunnier evenings. So that's that's that's the good thing.
And then to capitalize a little bit still on the ice,
my true piece of good news is from Medina.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
Have you have you ever spent any time in Medina?

Speaker 2 (04:25):
I have not.

Speaker 3 (04:26):
Okay, I haven't either, but definitely familiar with it. Have
worked with some media folks there for the work that
I do currently, and I did not know they are
hosting a huge ice festival next weekend, on this long
weekend that all these families have for President's Day weekends?

Speaker 2 (04:45):
Are they? That's something cool and different. There's a reason
to go to Madona.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
I know where's Matt McLaren when we need them? This
has been this has been taking place annually. It's called
the Medina Ice Festival, and it transforms the town into
a winter wonder land with all of these ice carvings
and completed sculptures.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
You should see the pictures.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
And beyond that, they offer a bunch of great treats.
It's a really family friendly destination. There is competitions where
people are cutting the ice.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
You know, you've probably seen those in action before. I
know I have.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
Anyway, small town camaraderie at its finest, truly, So if
you guys need something to do for that long weekend,
if you don't have sports taking it up like Middy
or maybe my family does with hockey. Head on to
Medina with your family, check out something while we still
have this cold weather.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
That would be really cool for your family to see.
So that was my good news. I thought it was
a pretty cool thing.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
No, I like it. I can hear the music. It
was a little loud. I can hardly hear you there
at the end. But I was going to ask you
real fast, you're talking about ice. Are we going to
be driving into any snow or ice as we get
into Ohio.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
Not that I'm familiar with.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
I'm gonna look at my I'm looking at my iPhone
app real quickly.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
And then Ashley. I didn't hear Ashley's weather earlier.

Speaker 3 (06:03):
But no, it actually looks like we don't get any
rain or precipitation until Wednesday, and then there's a pretty
good chance that most of the area will get some.
So you're smooth sailing, my friend, all the way back
into Ohio.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
From what I can tell, Oh my gosh, there's like
a little young family of deer on the side of
the road in this well. You know what, You never
know what you're gonna see when you're in West Virginia.
When it comes to wildlife. They were a little deer
worth they ran.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
Oh wild, wild, wonderful West Virginia.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
You're seeing it in person, yes I know.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
And Randy's flying. If we get a ticket, you'll know why.

Speaker 3 (06:38):
Okay, can't have that happen. We're gonna got to break up.
At the top of the hour, we will talk with
a great restaurant here in central Ohio, who's our sponsor
for the dating game. You'll learn more about Flower Modern
Pasta Bar. This is What Matters on six to ten
