Yeah, no one's listening. Howmany times do you feel that way,
moms, that you can preach it, you can teach it, but nobody
listens. Yeah, I love it. You can preach it, you can
teach it, but nobody listens.I'm keeping one thought of that out of
the top of my head. Itwas good. Can a good song selection
right there. You're doing a goodjob on as a DJ today. Thank
you. We're talking mom stories, favorite memories that you have with your mom
(00:27):
again, Mom's of all kind sixone four eight two one nine eight eight
six six one eight two one WTVAnd if you want to give your mom
a shout out, and we havea little something for miss carm Do you
want to start there, mindy,or do you want to start with became
story sister to make sure that mom'slistening right now? Okay, well with
her a little message. So weasked what is your favorite Mother's Day memory?
(00:47):
And Jericha Marie said she had twoum when she was little, they
all went to dinner with her mom, great grandma, and great aunt for
Mother's Day. Can you imagine.I don't know if I ever went with
my great grandmother and my great auntand my grandma to Mother's Day with my
mom. I know, but that'spretty darn cool, isn't it. I
mean, you're not going to beable to do that, not only people
(01:10):
going to do in their lives. And her second is one year. Her
dad taught her and her sisters howto plant flowers for her mom, and
so that became a thing for thefamily. Her and her sister are planning
flowers. Meredith said, my girlsbringing me breakfast in bed. Her girls
are older now and out of thehouse, but that's one of her favorites
from when she had Mother's Days. And then Nicki Lynne, who I think
(01:32):
has been around since we've been inTV and has kind of followed what we've
done here would be this year, she said, seeing my baby that made
me a mom become one herself.Oh gosh, so rewarding. Hopefully it
doesn't happen in my family for manyyears to come. But when you look
at and motherhood and what it meansand how it changes you, and you
(01:53):
think to yourself, because I havea twenty one year old son and a
twenty year old daughter and they aremy life. I didn't ever want to
become an empty nester. Thank goodness, Michaela, that I have such a
good marriage to Randy and that he'ssuch a wonderful human. It makes being
an empty nester a lot easier. But you remember when they used to put
(02:15):
something together. I am happiest windot dot dot. If someone were to
ask me that, mindy, youare happiest win dot dot dot. Quite
honestly, I am happiest when mykids are around. They are my life.
And I think the minute you givebirth to these little, breathing,
living souls, it changes everything aboutwhat you know of life. And that
(02:39):
is what I live for, thatis what I love for. And you
know, as you know, Iwrote Dear Mom, kind of a tribute
to my mom, and MICHAELA wasin it, along with Jane Grody,
Abel See Grant, Katie Smith,Elanda Harris, Maria Durrant, Mark Blazer.
There were so many people who wroteabout their own mom and moms who
(03:00):
wrote about what it was like tobe a mom. I still if I
could give away so many different copiesbecause I want everybody to read these words,
because it's a timeless book. Andso if you are the third caller
today, Michaela, I want togive one away to somebody listening, that'd
be great. So six one foureight two one nine eight eight six It
(03:21):
is so near and dear to myheart. I wrote it actually a couple
of Mother's Days ago, Michael,if you remember, I wanted it out
for Spender's Day. It's been afew it's been a couple of years,
yeah, but I still have somecopies. So I want to give one
away to anyone listening right now.If you're our third caller, I'm going
to sign one for you. Youdon't even have to be a mom to
read dear Mom, but I willsign one for you and give it to
(03:42):
you. It's just what do youcherish the most about being a mom?
I think it's those It's funny, you know, Christian was saying, Oh,
my mom gives the best rubs. That's his favorite thing, you know,
kind of give him a little shoulderrub, BackRub at night before he
goes to bed. I think thosequiet moments in a world that is too
busy and any time of the day, just to not have anything on no
(04:04):
TV, no phone, no Alexa, whatever, to have quiet moments to
sit and talk or to just sitand be with them, because I think,
you know, we spend our livesrunning around, going to sports,
doing things at home, like justto have time to sit and be.
I love those moments as a mombecause I think they're rare gifts anymore in
(04:25):
a busy life. And so that'ssome of my favorite part. Just like
that time where you can just spendsome time or here they're laughter right in
the midst of like that quiet becauseyou're laughing about some secret or some joke
that you have. Like, thoseare the things that those are the things
that make a difference in a busylife. I will say this too.
You know, we hate as moms, We hate to see our kids go
(04:46):
through any adverse situation, any difficulty, But I've also come to the realization
that it affects us as parents tentimes worse than them. You know,
whatever they go through in life,if a friend gets mad at them,
or if they go through a difficultsituation in school or on their sports team
(05:09):
or on their dance team, wejust, oh, we want to make
it so much better, but alwayskeep in mind that we're feeling it ten
times worse than what they are.Don't you feel that way, Yeah,
most definitely. And just going throughsome of the hurts even then once you
know as they're little. Um,it's hard. It's hard, and it
(05:30):
can only imagine it gets harder.Mandy. You've been through some of the
teenage stuff and the college stuff, and it's not easy easy. It's hard.
And I think today's world, it'seven harder to raise kids. For
sure, it's not easy out there. But I thought, you know,
I obviously Mom's health has been justan up and hill, up, up
and down hill. It's been aroller coach hal past a year. Yeah,
(05:54):
but she's getting better and stronger.I am so thankful that I still
have Mom with us today. Andso last I was over there and I'm
like, Mom, I want youto say a message. What would be
your message? Because she's lived ninetytwo years. You know, I am
the baby of the family and I'mfifty five years old and my brother is
ten years older than me, andthere were four of us all together,
(06:15):
right, So if anyone knows aboutmotherhood and being a grandmother as well,
what's your message to everybody listening today? And Hannah, I think I gave
you that. Can you play thatfor everybody? What is your message on
this Mother's Day? I say thatyou don't know anything about life until you
have your family. Nothing nicer thanthe kids to take care of you.
(06:39):
You take care of them and youlove everything they do. It's wonderful.
You never want to be without kids, never, never, never never.
We have so much fun together.Nope, I love it. And now
that I'm older, they take greatcare of me, great care. They're
keeping me out of the nursing home, so they come over and see me
(07:02):
every day. No, it's fun, it's it's says. I just say,
it's so much fun to have afamily. That's my message. I'd
be a mother, that's your message, you know. And as we've said
today, I mean, and weexperience with Janice, who is a biological
mom but also a foster mom. There's so many ways you can be a
(07:24):
mother to people who need it,and so carm nailed it. I mean,
until you experience that in some way, shape or form, life looks
different, right and Donnie, itlooks a lot different. My sister has
three girls and none of them wantto be moms. And we're like,
you know what, I bet tochange your mind. And even those out
there listening that think that they're tothink of themselves. I don't. I
(07:46):
don't want to become pregnant. Idon't want to be a mom. The
minute that you do, you're soglad that you did. Yeah, because
everything changes. Yeah. I can'timagine life for the Beast without Kylan Cameron.
Yeah, I mean you look atwhat would I do with all my
time? What would I do?Who would I be if I didn't have
Kay and Cammy. It's my love, it's my life, it's my heart.
(08:11):
Being a mom. There is nothingbetter. It's not always easy,
it's very difficult, but there's nothingmore rewarding. And I can personally say
that I've learned from the best mom. You are the best mom you could
have ever hoped to be. AndI'm I am who I am because of
you, no doubt. Pat onthe line with us. Pat, We've
got one minute. Go ahead,Welcome to what matters. Yes, I
just want to send out a messagefor all those moms for whom things went
(08:35):
all wrong. The kids are inprison, the kids have died. Guess
what, You can continue the lifeif you can remember to enjoy whatever good
there was and let the bad go. Boy, that's so strong. I
want you to hang on the linebecause you are going to I'm going to
(08:56):
give you a copy of my DearMom book. I would love for you
to read it. Are our producerwill get your address and I will send
it out to you. Pat,And you're right. And my mom was
one who lost a son. Ilost a brother, and that difficulty and
we talk about it through my bookDear Mom. But I have known some
mothers who cannot let that go.The loss becomes the big thing, and
(09:16):
you have to let the bad goand just remember the good. Pat,
really powerful words on this Mother's Day. Thank you so much for calling in.
Hang on the line and I'll getto you. This is what Matters
