doing the dating game in a couple of weeks. Here
we're gearing up for the big day. Mindy, what are
you and Randy planning.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
On doing for Valentine's Day? Do you have any plans yet?
Speaker 3 (00:16):
We sure do, There's no doubt about it. We'll be
on the ball field, We'll be in Clearwater.
Speaker 1 (00:22):
You will be celebrating the big day with your youngest
who will be on the ball field, are you guys?
Speaker 3 (00:28):
Yeah, And she's doing what she loves. So we get
to see her doing what she loves and that makes
us happy.
Speaker 4 (00:34):
So it's all good.
Speaker 3 (00:36):
Yeah, I just yeah, that's our heart typically Yeah, like
Randy said, Plus it's Florida, and the forecast for Clearwater
looks out standing, and thank goodness. So I've got a
really good friend, Lisa Condis. They have a house down there,
like a family house, which is like ten minutes from
the field where we're going to be playing with the
Buck guys will be playing, so we get to stay
(00:56):
at their house. And so Randy's brother, my so sir,
my cousin, Randy's sister, We're all going to be in
this house together. So what a wonderful way that that
worked out.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
I love that. Will you get a walk on the
beach for your Valentine's Day weekend?
Speaker 3 (01:10):
Maybe we will the day before because we're going down
Thursday and they don't play till well, we get in
late Wednesday night, so we'll have.
Speaker 4 (01:18):
All day Thursday.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
They don't play till Friday. So you know me, I'm
gonna be finding a beach. I'm gonna tell you what.
We're driving home right now, and I have a little
sunburn on my face because anytime their sun anywhere, I
am full face forward into it. It's so funny because
some moms around me that don't know me all that
real well yet, like, Manny, do you have any sunblock?
(01:39):
I'm like, I'm look, what's that? No, but my friend
Amy does.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
Not the right mom to come to to get your
sunblock fixed.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
Nope, not gonna happen.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
Right next to me, Amy had like a bag full
of whatever number you want, and like, keep that thing
far away from me.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
Yeah, she doesn't need it. This is the start of
the season. She's working on ten already.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
All right, Marc, about you guys, and Marcus and I
are going to we have not been to Butcher and
Rose yet. The new Cameron Mitchell concept downtown and it's
opened up, you know, like months and months ago, so
I was able. It's hard to get a reservation, but
I was able to get one on Thursday night because
they leave for a hockey tournament on Friday into Saturday
(02:23):
for the whole weekend in Pittsburgh. So we're celebrating like
a day early since Valentine's Day is on Friday night,
So we're going to go for like at five thirty
on Friday or Thursday to Butcher and Rose.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
I'm excited.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
I have not been, and I've heard a lot of
great things, so we'll see how it goes.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
You're smart. I think you're smart doing that, and I
think a lot of people will do that. I just
read a story that you have to make a reservation
for Valentine's Day at least three weeks, so a month
to six weeks. Like, if you haven't made a reservation
by now and you want to get in for Valentine's Day,
you can do it for val Times Day twenty twenty six.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
That's right. I did. I booked Butcher and Rose six
weeks out.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
That is such such the case, especially for a popular place,
and I couldn't get reservations for Friday night. I don't
think I had to get them early, and even Thursday
was a little taken up. When Randy is not Randy
is not a vegetarian or vegan.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
Correct, you are correct.
Speaker 4 (03:24):
I'm a big steak.
Speaker 1 (03:25):
Either, So okay, Randy, how do you guys make a
decision on where to go if you're going out to
eat in Columbus?
Speaker 2 (03:34):
It goes to our next story that we're going to
talk about. But how do you guys make that decision?
Speaker 4 (03:40):
Well, basically, you knows I like me, and so I
always say, do they have a menu that any items
you can get on there as well? And we kind
of kind of find a place where there's a little
bit of both for both of us.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
Well, you guys are going to love these.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
I sent this link to Mindy, but the best restaurants
for both vegetarians and carnivores in Columbus.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
We're going to go through it real quick. Mindy, did
you have any surprises that were on this list?
Speaker 3 (04:07):
I actually didn't get a chance to look at it,
to tell you the truth. So when you're telling our
listeners you're going to be telling us for the first
time too, So I'm so curious.
Speaker 1 (04:16):
Okay, So I think that the most surprising one on
the list, and this is from Columbus Navigator, is Dirty
Frank's hot Dog Palace.
Speaker 3 (04:26):
Well, what's the vegetarian lever gat there?
Speaker 2 (04:29):
Right?
Speaker 1 (04:29):
So they apparently there are veggie sausage versions and many
dishes can be made either vegetarian or vegan, and so
they also help with like gluten free folks.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
But yeah, they these have these you.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
Know, really great hot dogs, but these veggie sausage versions
as well on these other sides that can be made
vegetarian or vegan.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
So that was like one of the first ones on
the list.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
Oh that's surprising, but yeah, keep going.
Speaker 4 (04:56):
What's up?
Speaker 3 (04:57):
Okay on the list?
Speaker 1 (04:58):
So Perrogi Mountain, which is on Grant Avenue, which you
know you can put potatoes in a perogi and a
lot other stuff including meat. So I think that's why
people like it, because you can get the veggies and
do the parogis that way or do meat with it.
Have do you guys ever do perogis whether you know
you've had him at home or you know, go out for.
Speaker 3 (05:19):
Him when I lived and worked in Youngstown at the
ABC affiliate in Youngstown. Was the first time I ever
had Perogi's and I loved it. I loved Parogi's there.
I've never had them the same since I left Youngstown.
But honestly, mikaylab Youngstown is so it's so diverse up there,
and you get the best food that you can imagine
(05:41):
from all walks of life.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
I could see that given some of the immigrants who
came in from like I want to say, the Pittsburgh area,
and yeah, it's that where they're in the cookie tables
and I can't remember what ethnicity that like. There's just
a lot of cultural influence there. So that makes total
sense to have good stuff. Now, where do you and
Randy agree on for well, I know the answer to
this question, but where do you and Randy agree on
(06:05):
for pizza? When it comes to he wants to have
some meat, you want to have some veggies.
Speaker 3 (06:10):
You know, he actually really likes cheese on his pizza,
but he likes to put a sausage, mushroom stuff like that.
So it's so easy because we'll just get a whole pizza.
Half of it will be double cheese and half will
be whatever he wants, so pizzas are easy.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
Yeah, there's a couple on this list, some great pizzas
polygs both meat eaters and vegetarians and vegans, there's options.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
And then Yellow Brick Pizza, which I've had before. It's delicious.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
They definitely have all different kinds of toppings and pizza
can be pretty easy to do. This is when I
hadn't heard of Everest Cuisine in Worthington and it's in
a small plaza in Old Worthington and they offer different
types like Indian food and polyfood to Betan food, but
apparently they're also known for both meat eaters and vegetarians alike.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
People enjoy it.
Speaker 3 (07:02):
Oh. I just think there's so many things on this list,
all these places that I haven't even heard of. But
I have to say though, going back to pizzas, I
will always go to Brends too. They're by far my
favorite pizza in town by far.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
Yeah, it's so good. I mean, it is worth it
to get to one that is close to you. We've
enjoyed partnering with them and they delicious stuff.
Speaker 1 (07:23):
One other one that I'll mention before we go to
break that we all know of, but might not necessarily
think of as great for both carnivores and vegetarians.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
Is Martini Modern Italian? Downtown? That Cameron Mitchell spot?
Speaker 3 (07:38):
Okay, that's nice. It's hard to hear you and the
music's playing because the music is overpowering you. It's funny
you say something Martini.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
Yeah, Italian. What was it called?
Speaker 1 (07:50):
It was Martini Modern Italian. It's been downtown forever. The
funny thing is on the music.
Speaker 2 (07:55):
I can barely hear the music.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
That's all I can get here.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
Well, we'll fade the music down. We've got our bachelorette
coming up.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
Speaking of going out to dinner in Valentine's Day, I'm
so excited to meet Chrisa Mindy.
Speaker 3 (08:12):
You will love her. And it's just it's gonna it's
not just about her. We want to talk in general
and if anyone wants to call in and join this
conversation about why it's so hard to date these days?
And do you trust those dating apps? Have you ever
tried them? And we're going to find out why. Chrisa,
(08:32):
she's so cute, got a great personality. Why is she
so Why is she so single? Mickayla, I know so join.
Speaker 1 (08:37):
The conversation six one four eight two one nine eight
eight six six one four eight two one WTVN. Let's
talk apps, dating in twenty twenty five and meet CHRISA
when we
