(00:01):
This is one time where I reallywish that we were at a TV studio
because what we are about to experienceis so cool. It's not on TV,
but we are on six ten wtvn'sFacebook page. Hello everybody, wait
till you see what is now instudio mckilla. This is like a formal
tea you were invited to. Itreally is a lot of times on Sundays,

(00:22):
Mindy and I will do something wecall Sunday Dinner, and we'll bring
in a restaurant, a bakery,a something to really enjoy that you guys
can consider patronizing if you will. And I'm going to use the word patronize
because I feel very fancy based onwhat we're doing today. There's no doubt
you look fancy. I'm kind ofhalf fancy because I was at a graduation
party dress. But way do yousee our guests? And the whole reason

(00:46):
this came to be was because afew weeks ago, I was one of
three judges for the Taste of Westerville, where they introduce all these different restaurants
and businesses to come in and givesamples of what they make, and then
we had the job of tasting itand judging it. While as I was
leaving, I reached over to thisyoung lady who you're seeing on Facebook live

(01:07):
on six ten wtvn's page, andI said, Uh, if you don't
win something, it's rigged, becauseit was so darn good. MICHAELA and
I'm telling Michael about it, andshe's like, that's Ella, that's my
friend. I know her. Well. Yes, so Ella, I had
a chance to interview Ella for youknow I do that podcast UM with um
a Chamber. Yes, and soElla and I met. It's been several

(01:30):
months ago. And I love whenColumbus becomes a small world, and that's
what it did. And so Ellapulling up to the mic, we are
so happy to have you in withus. And it's it's posh Tea Time
Company. Yes, yes, poshTea Time Co. That we call it
our little nickname for her, butyes, I let it's for her for
her. I love it. Itmultiplies. Yes, look how fancy you

(01:55):
are. Explain the whole get upand what you brought. I didn't think
you were going to bring the wholehouse. I was like, well,
if you're gonna ask me to comeon, we need to bring all the
luxury and fabulousness and really like Ladyof the Afternoon leisured nous, So I
really wanted to bring that experience foryou ladies. And yeah, Posh Tea
Time Co. We're a social enterprisein mobile tea room, so we specialize

(02:19):
in bringing vintage china, crystal cutlery, our handcrafted food and tease to people's
home or their venue and you getto have a luxury afternoon tea. And
then then social enterprises that we partnerwith local nonprofits and we teach home economics,
etiquette and life skill classes to atriscue. Don't you think that when
you talk about etiquette it's kind ofan art form that's become a thing of
the past. I'm so glad thatyou're able to bring this back and kind

(02:44):
of reintroduce it because it's gone bythe wayside. Aren't you supposed to like
drink tea like this with one pinkieout? Absolutely not. That was a
way to kind of snub the uppercrossthat all the lower crusts no reality would
actually make and mock the elite. So yeah, so yeah, so will

(03:05):
you tell us a little of yourtea story and why this really happened?
In the first place. I thinkit's important for folks to know your background.
I think, so my tea storyis really long, so I'm gonna
try not to be well and gointo it. M But I've always loved
tea. I think for me asa little girl I'm growing up in and
out of the foster care and mymother having severe schizophrenia, I always loved

(03:30):
to kind of live in a fantasyworld. Like one of my favorite films
or musicals was My Fair Lady, and like I loved how you know,
you took this raw like kind ofyou know, no class, having not
having any really etiquette, but atthe core she had like an intense or
amazing moral. So she was suchan amazing person. And I loved watching

(03:50):
that and seeing, you know, the transformation that could occur that no matter
where you come from the background thatyou come from, that you could really
have a soft girl or elevation alife. Um and so UM. As
I got older, I was actuallythe first team t Salon employee for let
me back up for Zencha Tison.I was their very first employee UM in

(04:11):
the short North and so there Igot to really build my tea acumen and
really build my tea knowledge and UMunderstand the steeping process, the the acquiring
um, how teas are actually umoxidized and how you get the different green
teas and the olongs and black teas. And that was like really eye opening
for me. Um. And thenlike fifteen years later, I like went

(04:34):
into corporate been working as IT systemsanalysts for about fifteen years. UM met
my husband who's from Morocco, andwe practice Moroccan tea ceremony at home a
lot extensively and ceremony So Moroccan teaceremony. It's almost like in North Africa.
You bring tea out for any occasion, whether it's welcoming in a stranger

(04:57):
that you see that's lost into yourhome, you bust out the tea,
okay, and you literally will pullthe poor the tea, give them any
type of desserts or food that youhave and it would be like a light
afternoon treat hopefully UM. But oreven like you know, if someone's not
feeling well or there's a death oranything any reason or occasion, literally you
will have Moroccan tea, which isgreen tea that's extremely sweet. Well,

(05:19):
they say to green tea can helpheal things. It's supposed to be good
for you. Yes, so,Michaela, as you were talking, MICHAELA
has kind of brought the spread tothe death. I have not brought the
tea itself. We want to wantme to pour the tea while you talk
over I mean, and Ella willcome over there and help you. And
there is a microphone over there too, Hannah, if you want to bring

(05:42):
it up, because they can talkfrom over there. So so with it,
tell me a little bit about theseThese are truly sandwiches. And I
brought the one that I think isvegetarian from Mandy, the cucumber sandwich.
And there's another sandwich along the lineswith that that you're serving. What is
that, Ella, So today Ihave actually brought in three tea sandwiches.

(06:04):
I've brought in our cranberry chicken salad, I've brought in our hummus and roast.
The peppers was actually blister peppers umthat I've done on the hummus sandwich,
and then also our cucumber and herb. So all of this is handmade
on our brioche bread that we makefrom scratch. So if you are have

(06:24):
any type of gluten I'm sorry.I make gluten free bread, but not
today. No, bring on thefat. Yes, it's this is a
full fat affair. Today. Wehave a cream stone, the cream stone,
and then what did you enter Mysterville. Our award winning stones that you'll

(06:46):
see are the plane stones, andthey have Claudet cream in them as well.
And next to that you have asmall bowl which has Cloutet cream.
That's etiquette is is that you breakthe scone apart with your fingers, okay,
and you'll use your accouterment. Unt. Yes, I don't have it
accouterment, but if yes, Ican't even say it, let alone have

(07:06):
it. Yeah, well you knowwhat, I have knives, but I
think I left them in the hall. So we're we're just gonna take a
Oh yeah, I'm just gonna golike this and I won't double this perfectly
fun cucumber. Outstanding, thank you, I mean outstanding. I could see
people ordering this or graduation parties orfor little events like that. Oh my
gosh, wow, oh my god. It's very light. It's not too

(07:26):
heavy except for the bread because Iuse it's brio, so I use a
ton of eggs and butter. Butit's very rich. Because so many people
are going in the other direction.Yeah, and you kind of lose the
goodness of fat, fun food.I'm not it's not well. I mean,
when you're doing tea, we're gonnayou gotta that tea and that kind
of butter and the eggs. That'swhat goes together. So keep pouring because

(07:49):
I definitely want to try that too. We're limited, but that cucumber sandwich
was so cucumber and what so that'scucumber and herbs, cucumber. And then
I had the hummus I believe withthe pepper, which was delicious, Yes,
amazing. And then this little thislittle stone that you had a taste
of Westerville that has the clotted creamwith it. I mean, Mandy,

(08:11):
that it was I don't even knowwhat to say. It's still you know,
And I hadn't tried your food wheninternet you and interviewed you. I
hadn't had a Do you do allthis yourself? I do I myself.
Um, it is quite insane, but I absolutely love it. Um.
And so I'm really excited because we'reactually um, we're going to right now.

(08:33):
We have the Duchess tea cart, which you saw at the Taste of
Westerville, which she's like seven feettall, three hundred pounds, and we
use her for our different pop ups. But we actually um our contractor is
almost done with our tea trailer whichwill be done probably by early June,
and we'll have a fifteen foot mobiletea trailer um which is called the Charlotte
Queen Charlotte and I'm so excited abouther um. But yeah, we can

(09:00):
literally pop up and have a fullafternoon tea. Would be stro tables set
up outside for people's events, ordo some farmer's markets and things. You
never had anything like these stones I'mtelling you about. I think there's some
tea houses too. I'm the same. You need to try this. Mark
our words. You'll be so gladyou did so. One of the questions
that came in on the Facebook liveon the six ten WTVM page, and

(09:22):
I mean there is an answer,Yes, Barbara, I see your question.
How about wedding or baby shower? To talk to us about that.

lot of birth teas, so wedo a lot of those. All ages
that I've done everything from six yearolds, all the way up to like
sixties. We just did um acouple of events for the Delta Sorority a

(09:46):
couple weeks ago. So yes,we do all of those types of events.
We can actually accommodate. We didColumbus Fashion a week about a year
and a half ago, and wecan actually accommodate up to two hundred people.
Well, let's take a break andthen we come back. We'll pour
the two while we're in break andthen finish this segment. Ups. It's
just fantastic. And yeah, I'mso glad that you're on Facebook Live.
