(00:01):
Tim Casey with Mosquito Authority is nowin studio like he is every single month.
Tim, I don't know how muchyou were listening to the show before
you got into the studio. Butdid you know that Michaela gave me a
tinkle? And just to show everybodybecause we are now on Facebook live on
my personality page on Facebook, thisis what MICHAELA was talking about. This

(00:21):
is the tinkle she gave me.It's for your face, yes, and
it's a razor, folks, andit's supposed to be great for female skin.
I don't know if I could doanything for bugs, but who knows.
If anybody knows it's Tim's Tim Casey. What do you think, Tim,
I'm showing you this tinkle here?Could it do anything with bugs?

(00:42):
We have to we have to tryit and see to try it and see.
I don't think so, but everything'sworth a shot. We are going
to introduce a new segment and thisis all Tim Casey's idea with Mosquito Authority.
Before we get to that, though, we have to ask you some
questions. Mikaela has a question aboutIrish and we have to talk about ticks

(01:02):
because they're already so bad this year. Yeah, let's let's start with ticks,
because that's a that is a talkabout a topic that is on everyone's
mind. I mean, have youfound a bunchment on everyone's mind? In
on the dogs, I have foundtoo. This is before you guys started
to come into our yard, becausewe take the dogs kind of to a
wooded area and let them run allleash and did our little dog, Whopper,

(01:25):
has already had several Yes, tickskeep increasing in population every year.
For the longest time, you'd findthem in the woods and brush areas,
but they are moving into you know, where we live, where our dogs
are, where our kids are.The Mosquito Authority, we take our tick
control protocol a little differently than alot of our competition. Um so that

(01:49):
so, our our normal mosquito controlwill kill ticks. Okay, so a
lot of our competition will say,you know, it's a mosquito tick flee
control. Um so, yes,our normal product does. But our protocol,
we don't want to just minimize theticks. We want to eliminate the
ticks from your yard. So it'sa multi step process. I brought in

(02:10):
you know what we call our tickstube So what this tube is, it's
a cardboard tube that is treated withcotton inside. So you'll have rodents in
your yard. They take this cotton, they take it down into their burrow
and that's what they build their nestout of young ticks. The nymphle ticks

(02:30):
live off of small mice rats. That's where the nymphile ticks start. They
roll around in this treated cotton. It kills them when they're the nymphletics.
So they're not the adult ticks thatshow up on your dogs, that show
up on your kids. They're likenymphs. When you say that, are
you talking about nymph nymphl like littleones? Yes, baby nips, baby

(02:53):
ticks, baby tis. So wefollow this up. We do a granular
process. So it's a it's amulti step process because we don't want to
just minimize a text in your yard. We want to eliminate the text in
your yard. I love the soundof that. So you're saying that little
tick tube. Can people purchase those? Then? Um, there are providers

(03:15):
at Yes, you can purchase those. Um, it's a it's a permethrin
that's inside of it. A lotof people who will treat their clothes with
permethrin when they go out hunting, when they go out walking, and the
kind of like moth balls I'm sorry, you know, mothballs something like that
to keep mozways that kind of workthe same. Yeah, I mean,
permethrin is a insecticide. I meanit is a legit product, um.

(03:39):
But it's it's great for that. There's a lot of clothing that's treated with
permethrin, for for hikers or forhunters, um. So it's a great
product as one of our multi stepprocess. See you leave it, you
leave a couple of these arounds andwhen you guys do this in the yard.
Yes, so depending on the yard, you know, different yards are

(03:59):
are going to be treated differently. We don't do a one size fits all
treatment. So we'll put these outtypically twice a year. So it's not
an immediate notice notice. You know, it's a long game process. It's
it's we're going to stop them now, so that way in July you don't
have those adult ticks. We're talkingwith Tim Casey of Mosquito Authority also of

(04:20):
Pest Authority, but right now itis getting into Mosquito season two. So
I imagine you guys and your crewsare pretty busy right now. This is
the time to treat, Is thatright? One hundred percent? You know,
you get out, We've treat nowyou're going to have a more enjoyable
summer, more enjoyable fall. Andagain, just like the ticks, our

(04:42):
mosquito treatment is a multi step process. You know, there's a protocol that
our crews follow and they're excellent atit. It's something that we've honed over
the last twenty years too, youknow it is it is a science that
we have on our treatments and whywe can say we guarantee no mosquitoes,
no ticks, so speak, andI know that first we use you.

(05:06):
I mean I was. I wasjust talking to Mindy about being out in
the patio. Were talking about thatearlier in the show. It's so important
to have your yard treated if youwant to spend this summer and enjoy it
outside and not be batting and hittingyour skin and getting bugs out of the
way. I mean, it's mosquitoauthority has been clutched at our house.
And speaking of science versus not science, Tim, there's a viral video right

(05:28):
now on TikTok and it's a guywho works in your industry, and he's
talking about Irish spring soap which smellsamazing and I have remember it from when
I was a kid, like Ithink we had a lot of coast where
I always the coast. Oh,the eye opener, the eye opener.
I loved it. Well, they'resaying, or this guy is saying on
TikTok, and you never know whatyou can believe on TikTok. Sometimes you

(05:50):
can learn some stuff and sometimes it'squestionable. He's saying if people put the
bar, if they rub it aroundthe entrances to their house, it'll stop
bugs from coming in because bugs cansense it, and if it gets on
their exoskeleton, it'll kill them. That was basically what he's telling everybody in
a minute long video. Is thattrue? This this uh TikTok thing has

(06:12):
been around for a couple of years. One of the news stations did an
expose, I guess you would say, on it back in twenty one.
UM. They talked with an entomologistswith the Higher Department of Public Health and
he basically said, no, it'snot true. There are anecdotal evidence of
it helping it repell dear rabbits, but for ants, for mice, for

(06:35):
that type of stuff, no bugs, all that stuff there. There are
many houses we show up to foran initial visit that there are bars of
Irish spring soap everywhere, um,which we're all for, you know,
trying out different things, but ourexperience says, no, it does not
work. Okay, you heard ithere. Guess now onto starting a new

(06:59):
segment. This was your idea onehundred percent, and I think it's very
very generous of you. Tim Caseycomes in studio every single month, but
you're willing to share your time tohelp other people. You're a business owner
and you know how hard it isto run your own business, let alone
to get it started in the firstplace. But your idea is to do
what Tim. We want to beable to invite new business owners to come

(07:24):
on to What Matters Show, youknow, to get their name out there
too, maybe learn different things aboutbusiness. You know, starting a business
is a very exciting time, butit can be a scary time for people
too. So if you know,if we can help them with you know,
getting the word out about their business, you know, maybe help them
out in different ways. You know, everything's not about just what's in it

(07:47):
for you, but hoping out otherpeople is a very enjoyable aspect of life.
That's how you build a business isby supporting and caring for other businesses.
So Tim, no wonder you've beenso success. So I have a
feeling this is just him, Mindy, Like this is who he is.
It is who he is. Iknow so many times in the past he'll
hear us talking about something on theradio and he's like, Mindy, I

(08:09):
don't want to give my name, but I'm going to give so much money
just to donate to the cause thatwe're talking about. And he's done that
on raw You do that here. You give away treatments to people to our
listeners all the time. So thequestion is how will you and Mikaela and
myself pick the businesses who get tocome on. Do they just reach out
to us, reach out to youguys, reach out to myself, Tim

(08:31):
dot Casey at bugsbyite dot com.Yeah, we are opening up to everybody.
We can figure out, you know, how we pick the people.
But you know, we want tohelp the local community, help local business
owners, help them when they're inthat phase of hey, I'm taking a
jump off this cliff. Yeah, you know, ask them anything correct,

(08:54):
won't cost you anything as a businessowner. This is Tim Casey, a
Mosquito Authority's gift to all of you. If you're starting a business, or
even if your business has been aroundfor a while. Yes, and you
just want to share the experience, share the love. Why you do what
you do? I mean, whydid you get Mosquito Authority. I got
Mosquito Authority because I was a customerMosquito Authority and I and it worked,

(09:16):
and opportunity came up to purchase thebusiness, and being a customer of it,
I knew how well it worked,so I knew I could believe in
it and I can sell it well. And sometimes that's what it takes,
Mindy, You have to you haveto have a confidence in the product or
the service. And sometimes it doesn'thappen automatically. Customers do not come to
you automatically. That's true. Sothis could this is a great way for

(09:39):
him to be able to elevate thosefolks who might need it, who've been
at it for a while. We'vealready had a couple of people on Facebook
Live actually say I join you.Yeah, they've already said it on the
feed, and we were on Mendy'sFacebook page, her work, her personality,
work page. So I think thisis a great opportunity, and so
