Filling in for Steve Stebbing, Shane, Ryam and takes over the weekend watchlist with three recommendations that promise drama, comedy, and action-packed storytelling.
First up is Wayward, a dark mystery where two teens escape a strange therapy school and, with the help of a local cop, uncover secrets in their small town. For laughs, Shoresy delivers — the Letterkenny spinoff where Sudbury’s most notorious chirper refuses to let his senior AAA hockey team lose. And finally, Power brings high-stakes drama, following nightclub owner James “Ghost” St. Patrick as he juggles family, loyalty, and life as a drug kingpin desperate to escape.
Ryan’s Picks: Alien: Earth takes the legendary franchise in a bold new direction, set two years before the original film. It follows human consciousness transplanted into synthetic bodies as hybrids face a terrifying alien threat — this time, on Earth. Overcompensating delivers a grounded, emotional story about Benny, a former high-school football star navigating identity, acceptance, and the struggle of hiding who he is during his first year of college. For fans of action and the DCU, Peacemaker returns in season two, throwing Chris Smith into an alternate dimension where his family is still alive — forcing him to face past choices while battling cosmic stakes.

Cardiac Cowboys
The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
