Speaker 1 (00:02):
I'm glad more and more people are starting to talk
about this. I talked about this on my on my
organizing show, The Show of James Jr.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
A while back. This whole thaked till you make it.
Speaker 1 (00:16):
Situation online, especially online, it's starting to get on my nerves.
It's a lot of help with James Jr. We're here
every Tuesday talking about kinds of subjects I do with
mental and physical and all that kind of health stuff,
and they related to that. I'll be on I'll be
on Facebook or Insta scrolling. I'll do it very often.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
I do scroll.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
I have friends and that I try to see what
they're doing so I can kind of help them get stuff.
And I run across because of the algorithm. Now I
across a lot of coaches.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
And quotes of all kinds. And I'm big about credentials.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
I'm sorry, I'm like, anybody call himself a coach and
they just can and maybe you're good.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
I don't know, but I just believe it. I believe
in credentials. I just do. I just for me.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
That's much more. I don't care if you have two followers,
at least if you have actually at the school study trades,
call whatever, and you've got these credentials, I applaud you.
That means that means you have real dedication and you're
being truthful about your service. I won't waiver on that.
I don't I don't think. I think if you don't
have any kind of credential in the in the coaching
(01:28):
field of whatever it is you just coaching, I don't
take you seriously.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
Just don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
It's a very bold statement, but I just that's just
I believe that. I think it adds and it adds
value to your your clients. Now saying also with that,
of course, I don't care what it is. I mean
that don't be like you have to have a doctorate.
I'm not, which I do have one, but you don't
have a doctorate all kind of stuf. I don't care
about that stuff. It just be some kind of credential.
(01:53):
I mean, it could be a certification, anything that's in
the field.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
That you're that you I mean, I mean that that
means you value education.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
Now that you read some books by everybody everybody's reading,
you know, the Daily Stoic or who moved my cheese
or all those books. That's good too. Read books so
by one of my one of those guys that I follow,
who actually I really do.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
Like a lot.
Speaker 1 (02:17):
He talks about people just reading and reading and reading,
gathering a fiaceship and not doing anything with it. I
don't folks who will quote every single person's book word
for word. I'm like, but what do you think you
have any wisdom yourself? Do you have any quotes from yourself?
I didn't ifew once with somebody and then literally had
no quotes for themselves. All the sound bites were favorite
(02:39):
sound bites from other people. So I'm like, yeah, that's
not gonna work for me. I just I just think
there is that mentality of take it till you make it,
(03:03):
and what it is is for some people, if you
don't know what that is, I'm sure you might know
what that is. But for those who don't know what
that is, it is this you put on a facade
of where you like to be, but you don't treat
it that way. You treat like you're there already. And
there's so many different ways you can do this, talking fast,
(03:25):
talking loud, flashy video. Anybody can do a flashy video
probably considered flimsy and and and I can probably to
some people. But I'm telling you the truth. And also
I'm got credential, and I also got I got experience.
I actually have clients. There are a lot of folks
out there who don't have clients who will tell you
(03:46):
they have clients because they.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
Can say that.
Speaker 1 (03:47):
You say, what do you want I have? I have
a lot of clients. My clients think this blah blah blah.
You're sitting at home with no clients, not making any
money from this. You could have a job somewhere that
nobody knows about, some little small job somewhere, so you
make your basic money and whatever you get, flashy videos,
flashy You have all these platitudes you tell online and
(04:09):
you can buy followers. That's not that's not a surprise.
You can buy followers and make it seem like you're
a very successful coach. It's it's the art of illusion.
It happens all the time. And then Hollywood, we know
the whole studes. They make it a fake till you
make it where you know, yes, the situations.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
Yeah you want to.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
You may embellish here and there, you may pump up
a resume and say certain key words where it's not
really a lot, maybe, but it's like it's just kind
of like you know, to me, that's all acceptable. I
have no problem. I have no problem with stuff like that.
You know, marketing is marketing, but I want something to
back it up. And I've seen some coaches who done
(04:52):
a lot of followers, but they do have credentials and
they do have a small following of people who really
engage with them, and what they're saying to me actually
sounds great, and I resonate with it, and I follow them.
I try to support them. I try to comment by forth.
(05:13):
So the best people that I talk to you acknowledge
you like I do. I might have my loddies. I
know my loddies. They engage with you, and I think
that's that's the And I know it's a lot of
companies that are start looking at engagement. That's more important
because I'm looking, we have ten you have ten thousand followers,
only four likes and no comments. Now, so I just
(05:41):
no comments because also now we get that good old eight.
I AI want ai where I have a friend who
the coach and she's to the ball I'm beginning and
works about how using she's trying to embrace in her
in the company by I know, trying to embrace AI
to help them out in terms of aline content. And
(06:01):
I have a problem with that either actually because they
actually can back up their services that they are I've
seen them in person or I know that they're good.
So I'm like whereever they can do to get themselves
out and those people, I'm like, wherever you can do
get yourself out there. So one of them, she has
a person who the stuff sounds like her, so it's
kind of AI. They use some AI stuff to generate stuff,
(06:23):
but it sounds it sounds like what you know. It's
it sounds like if she said it herself, they'll get
more sophisticated with that stuff.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
But it's nothing bad. It's all.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
It's all great information and I love it. I'm seeing
her presence. I kept saying, she needs to increase your
presence online. It's hard to want you by.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
Yourself just but if you're working and she's working.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
So it's like if if you're working running a company
and then trying to try to get all the social
media stuff socialdia, it does work, it needs a little
bit of help, and I so for her, I have
no issue with that whatsoever. To me, it's like she's
not faking it is that just as it's just using
tools to get her message out there. I mean, I
(07:06):
don't think nothing. I don't have the biggest followings. I
have some on some pages on my don't I don't
biggest followings, but I don't. But I have tons of credentials.
I went to school several times and got my stuff,
and I completely.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
Don't oversell myself. Soself enough.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
I I have clients that I'm working with and they
are and I'm seeing the improve there.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
It's working for.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
Them, both organizing and professional organizing and or life touching.
I have clients out my ears and and uh and organizing.
I'm waiting lists were when to come on. I'm just
too either too busy or I can't do it right
now working at my house. So once I get back,
I get back into it again. But I'm very grateful
(07:51):
to you one because they know they can, they can testify,
yet they don't have to lie say James came here
and did this and it worked, or when James said
this works, like I don't you know, and I said,
I love education. I redo everything ideary I can. But
I'm tired of these folks who seemingly have all these
followers and they're doing all this stuff and I'm sitting
(08:11):
there struggling trying to get five thousand followers on Instagram
and they have like thirty kind I did sigh on that,
but you scroll through you see and you're like and some,
but you can tell which ones are real. Some of
them that are really real. I've met some and they
(08:31):
are in the big leagues. They with the Tony Robbins
and my Lets, and I know I've met at my
let everything I've that they're they're they're up there. There's
some people that are actually up there. Marshall Silver's all stuff.
They're up there, and again their stuff is proven. You
can see what they've done. But now with social media,
anybody can be a superstar. Right, there's that whole thing.
(08:52):
I'm gonna start and almost to start Almos, to start
an aumous superstar, and it's like, okay, but it just bugs
me when I see it, and I go, I just
I don't know if you are all that.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
I hate them to question and I don't want to.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
My whole point, it's not about jealousy or being trying
to bring anybody else's game down. I feel bad for
you out there because I don't want you to get scammed.
I don't want you to get taken in by somebody
who's good looking, has a great video and you see
it as he has fifty thousand followers. Harry got them.
(09:28):
You see he has them, and then you go to him.
You're like, I'm spending all this money and I don't
feel any better. They're charging coach can.
Speaker 2 (09:37):
Charge a lot of money.
Speaker 1 (09:39):
They charge it, and you're like, I've had friends who've
gotten fresshon organizers who are not good. They're not good,
but they just I'm a fresh organizer. I know it's right,
follow my way, and I've always says I it's a
different show, but I've already goes for coaching. There's no
one way to do it. There are ways to do it.
(10:01):
And it's also I think for me, each person is different,
so I can cater it to each person. I do
a lot of listening, that's very key listening. So I
just I just yeah, I'm just like, there's just I
(10:24):
just it just Bud's bugging crap out of me, and
I'm seeing out there you have to be careful you're
looking the following body. If the message works for you,
then great, even if they're scammarks whatever. If if the
message works for you, it's motivating you to do stuff.
I say, do your vetting, do you due diligence. There
are many times some of these folks have been proven
nothing as big as they think they are. I get
(10:46):
here jail JB and we get all kinds of requests stuff,
and I looked at me and there and their email
is dazzled by brilliance. I mean, they write, oh my god,
the press kid is great. And I looked them up
and it's like having there's one. OK, recently, I hadn't
updated their Instagram page is twenty twenty how their Facebook
page was updated?
Speaker 2 (11:07):
So I whytn't you to dang you can actually lead
them together? So what is that? I mean?
Speaker 1 (11:12):
And X not since twenty twenty three that all their
numbers are very low, like well, no ones, It's fine,
but I'm like, but you're not you obviously you know
on a social media person you know, So it's like.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
And in some cases people just don't know.
Speaker 1 (11:29):
They're busy in the trenches, they don't know, and then
someone comes along and says, Hi, let me help you
do this. I have, We do so many podcasters for
places that didn't realize a podcast actually can help them
help their.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
Business, and it has. But I just want everybody look out
for yoursel I'm doing this for you.
Speaker 1 (11:46):
Want you guys to look out for yourselves, not getting
scammed or broad into things.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
