Speaker 1 (00:03):
People always ask me how do I handle everything? Those
guys who know me know that I have a couple
of businesses and I do various projects within those businesses,
and I'm also helping caregif for my mother, and I
run several households, and I have a staff kind of underneathing.
(00:25):
We're doing stuff together. I have collaborators. I have my
own life, driving, and I got kids and grandkids and
got everything going on. And I've talked kind of a little
bit about some of this stuff in my organizing show,
The Best for Show James on Junior. But I'm gonna
talk to you about the mental side of stuff a
little bit on this one. Just skip because I know
(00:45):
people out there out there who who are going through
what I'm going through. I have these zooms mental health zooms,
having one this Friday. If you want to join, it's
fifteen dollars. We go on Zoom. We support each other
some all kinds of stuff. It's at five pm, six
a time this Friday, Friday thirteenth. We There are a
(01:12):
lot of folks who are taking care of famuly members,
a lot of folks out there trying to support friends,
try to support themselves, uh, trying to run their businesses,
trying to grow their businesses. A lot of people are
doing a lot, and I just know for me, I
(01:34):
have to stay calm, cool and collected. Right. It's not
always easy. I want to scream sometimes you do. You
want to scream, You just want to put your hair out.
I look around, you can't see it. Here is my
office area and I have I'm trying. I'm half organized.
I'm trying these I'm trying get everything organized, and I'm
almost I'm getting there, almost there, but I'm not completely yet.
(01:57):
And I'm looking at these piles. I just have stuff
you gotta work on. And I tell you all the time,
there are things that slip through the cracks. Oh are
I'm not perfect And I had to learn to stop
feeling bad about that. That's a major thing I hate.
I would tell you. I hate not fulfilling something. I
(02:19):
hate not being on top of stuff. I hate not
calling someonem back, made to call them back. I hate it.
I'm not like I'm not proud of that person, Like, yeah,
I'm trying to you know, you know, I say what
I say, do I do mean what I mean. At
one point I was on top of everything. I was
like in November December last year, I was like, oh
my god, I'm on top of everything. If I'm finally starting,
(02:43):
I was like, I just start doing this and that
then the other. Then life happens and stuff gets put
on your plate that you expect. So my major, if
any takeaway for you is you you can't feel guilty.
You're one person. You got to do so much that's
humanly possible. I refuse to work twenty privesday, seventys a week.
(03:05):
It's not gonna. I'm not gonna. It's not gonna make
me do anything better. I'm tired, so I'm trying to
So trying to work while you're tired, you make mistakes,
you put out subpar work. I'd rather be wide awake
to work, you know, and and doing stuff. So I don't.
So I'm just like, get out the computer. I get
(03:27):
out the computer, Go outside the garden, go run a
couple of air like, get out the house, like whatever
I do that, I'm like, no, I'm not gonna. I'm
gonna sit here and and where can it is? There
is so much going on, and you guys don't relate
to On any given day, there's so much going on that.
(03:52):
I try to organize it. I have a little I
have a little post its and and and lists and
things that write down, and I just try to, Okay,
what's the most important thing today. That's how I work
on it. What's the next important thing? Got it? But again,
some things will stip through the cracks. Something. Hopefully it
won't be anything major, and hopefully it's stuff that you
(04:15):
can and it's fine, you won't. It won't really hurt
you that much. I don't, right, it's it's just it's oh,
it's just so much, so much, so much much almost almost.
I've learned in major chaos, whether it's work related, home today, whatever,
(04:39):
I have found myself to become more calm because folks
are screaming and hollering and bringing my chickens off their necks. Sorry,
here's a here's a brooking news. As I'm recording this,
slidestone passed away a h A two so from Slider
(05:00):
family stone. I just watched the documentary on him. That's that. Ah.
So I'm trying to feel that you know just so much,
you can't feel guilty. We don't get something done. Hopefully,
when we get some of the cracks is a super major,
(05:21):
we're still rectifiable or amenable whatever. If it is the major,
then you deal with it too. I've learned to take
more stock and what I can cannot do, I know,
I just it's it's something. I have so many dreams,
(05:44):
I have so many aspirations or so many things I
want to do, and I'm getting stuff done. I mean
I'm talking about have determination. I'm getting some stuff done.
But there are things that I'm not yet. And it's
taken a little longer, but I will, I told myself,
and get to them, go work it out. I've said
before We're gonna do it again and how, And that's
(06:05):
what I'm saying off this to you guys. That's what
the battle is. It's mind of a matter. It's mostly
saying I'm gonna change the narrative. Whether I get you
or not, I'm gonna think positive. I will get to it.
I'm going to handle it. I mean, that's that's half
the battle, just like I'm gonna I'm gonna figure it out.
Me saying I'm gonna figure it out really does help, yees.
(06:32):
You know. So it's it's not easy. In the days
are depressed, upset, mainly becomes tired, and it's but it's
I'm realizing I'm leasing more and more than i am human.
(06:54):
That's all that is, all that will be, and that
life does go on whether you get everything done or not.
And sometimes things are meant to come out that soon.
Maybe they're meant to come out a little later, right,
I don't know. Somebody be said about that of things
coming out not the time you wanted to come out,
(07:15):
but they come out at a certain time. They do really great.
I know, I've had a fuel situations. I'm like, oh, like,
now now that that's that's amazing. That's amazing. When I
did that now I didn't do before, and I'm doing
it now. I guess interously about that, Yeah, especially at home.
(07:37):
Just and those are my basics of what how I
just kind of I mean, how I handle things just
most up at a time. And and I know it
sounds so trite and simple and all these things, but
it's the truth. It's the truth. You have to just
(07:58):
kind of barrel through, hunger down, barrow through, try be
organized and just handle what's in front of you. That's
all you can do. Take a lot of deep breaths
walking around the corner, go outside, whatever you gotta do.
Turn away from people from all times, to quiet the noise.
That will all help you. It was all this a
(08:19):
little trick that will help you. I mean, I don't care.
You want that bookshake hat, the book shake ship out here,
you want some ice creamuts mice? I mean, I just
think it. Sometimes sometimes I do give in to what
my little my little little fun vices. M hmm. A
