Everybody out there. Welcome in, baby. We'll do crumbing a week.
(00:53):
At the end of the show, Sixers start two and
oher are we back. We'll talk about six Ers later
as well. The Eagles easier concerns. Sakwon Barkley finally breaks out.
We've got a lot to go over. Oh yeah, we're
gonna talk about it all. But the beast of the NFC. Okay,
the b C of the NFC six and two. Okay,
(01:15):
Detroit plays tomorrow, so I mean they can get the
six and two as well.
Speaker 3 (01:18):
But right now, you know number number one over in
the NFC. So that's what we're shooting for, right You're
shooting for.
Speaker 4 (01:26):
That, that number one seed, and everything comes through the
link and financial especially with a schedule like you've had
this year where it's it's at home on the road,
at home on the road, you would love some consistency,
just being at home for a little while.
Speaker 3 (01:40):
We'll talk about it all, but right now our poll question.
Speaker 4 (01:43):
The eagles last two dominant victories have eased all major
doubts about this team's ability to compete for the Super
Bowl this year.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
Do you agree or disagree? Let us not Facebook, YouTube, Twitter,
that's where we're live.
Speaker 4 (01:56):
Everywhere you get your podcasts with their as well, hit
the like subscribe file. Most importantly, we say it every
time joined the conversation, Baby six and two. Are you
calm down now right because it wasn't well, it's funny
to last, because it wasn't that long ago two weeks
where where it was two straight losses. Okay, going to
(02:17):
Minnesota and what we called what I called, I mean,
not everybody agreed with this, and you don't have to,
but I called a must win, right, you can't lose
three in a row.
Speaker 3 (02:25):
The city would crumble.
Speaker 4 (02:27):
We would start running guys out of town by accident
because this is what we do.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
We needed, we needed, we needed that win and we got.
Speaker 4 (02:34):
It and now you get another win, and talked about it,
talked about this throughout the week. This was about the
ass game. This was a statement game. Hard to beat
a team twice in three weeks period in this league
unless you're that much better than them. And you know,
we came out today and took care of business, so
you know, yeah, I think it does ease any doubt
you had, because there was, I think, and you know
(02:56):
I didn't have many, but they would start starting to creep.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
They started to creep going into Minnesota.
Speaker 4 (03:02):
And if if doubts weren't starting to creep in a
little bit, then then you weren't paying attention enough, right right,
absolutely for everybody out there, when we weren't paying attention
enough of what the Eagles were at four and two
after a four and oh start, but they were starting
the starting to be a little bit of doubt but
these last two wins is easy. Go to Minnesota not
an easy place to play. I mean, Carson Wentz isn't good,
(03:23):
but still you gotta go there against a good defense.
Speaker 5 (03:26):
And that's exactly Yeah.
Speaker 3 (03:28):
Listen, you took care of business, right, took care of business.
You lit it up. It was an air show.
Speaker 4 (03:33):
And you come back and home against the Giants team
that you know, even though they epic collapse last week
in Denver. It's feeling better about themselves overall as a
football team coming into Philly, a team that just whoop
your new you know what at MetLife and they made
you quit, look like in the fourth quarter. That team
(03:54):
feeling good about themselves coming in here and to be
able to just go nope, not today. You're not ready.
You're not at the level to come beat us twice
in a year. You're just not there yet. And that's okay,
Well we are and that's what great teams do. Great
teams after they lose to in a row, it can
go south, right, it could go the other way, or
(04:15):
you could you could rally figure it out. And there
was a lot of positives today that ease those doubts.
Won the defensive line five sacks, easy downs right, our
covers say, really good, easiest doubts, the running game right
right from Jump Street. We talked about it on Wednesday,
this is gonna be the week Greg, it was. I
told everybody it's gonna be the week he breaks a couple,
(04:36):
and he did, and here we are. But yeah, you
get blind squirrel finds nuts there once in a while.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
But you felt like it was coming. I think we
all felt like we knew it was coming.
Speaker 4 (04:46):
Breakout game for Saquon, But does a breakout game for
the run, the running game.
Speaker 5 (04:50):
As a whole, the whole attack. Absolutely.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (04:52):
And when you go today and rush for what two
hundred and seventy six yards something.
Speaker 5 (04:56):
Like two guys over over a hundred yeah.
Speaker 4 (04:58):
Two over a hundred piece, I mean, it's just he's
a lot of your concerns and your quarterback's been phenomenal. Okay,
he's been absolutely tremendous. So when you look at a
guy who had fifteen touchdowns and one interception throughout this
year right now, I mean, I don't know, I don't
know how you have any concerns right now about this
football team.
Speaker 3 (05:16):
Okay. So that's where I stand. So I agree.
Speaker 4 (05:21):
That has he's all major doubts if if you did
have some, But either way, I agree that this this
seems good enough to compete for a super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (05:29):
That's where there are and play call and felt better.
Speaker 5 (05:32):
You know, continuous right or you know a complimentary is
was what was the word I was looking for.
Speaker 3 (05:41):
We saw a screen, we saw something.
Speaker 5 (05:43):
That they listened to us, Tommy, everything that we asked
on Wednesday and last Sunday they listened to us.
Speaker 3 (05:49):
It's amazing. It's like we're.
Speaker 5 (05:50):
Multiple guys running the football wired three passes were at
a quarterback.
Speaker 3 (05:56):
Wire tap like Chauncey billups over here, you know that,
like the NBA guys. Unbelievable.
Speaker 5 (06:03):
What's wild?
Speaker 4 (06:04):
Yeah, a lot of a lot of the stuff we's, uh,
can we get after the quarterback?
Speaker 3 (06:08):
Yep? Here we got to you guys know.
Speaker 5 (06:11):
More PG go retired. We're good.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
I mean, it's just funny.
Speaker 4 (06:15):
He you know, he's warming up pre game and all
this and we have a pulse right the front has
a pulse and I think that it says a lot.
Speaker 3 (06:23):
I thought the covers guys were good today, right man.
Speaker 4 (06:28):
It's a lot of positives, a lot of positives over
the last two weeks for things you can build off of.
And now it's getting in, getting into this bye week,
get a breather, get guys healthy, and get ready.
Speaker 3 (06:39):
For the stretch run.
Speaker 4 (06:40):
So that's where we're at, and we'll see how long
Saquon really message in. The average length on this type
of injury is about ten to fifteen days.
Speaker 5 (06:49):
What did they I've been running around? What did they
officially diagnose?
Speaker 3 (06:53):
It's a growing of some sort.
Speaker 5 (06:56):
Yeah, So I mean I buy couldn't come in a
perfect time, right.
Speaker 4 (06:59):
You know, no, because even if he misses the game
coming out of the by which you don't want to happen, Okay,
but I mean the worst case, you know, three weeks off,
you only miss you only miss one game, yeah, which
I think is the whole the whole point there. But
I'm not the miss green Bay at Green Bay all
Monday night football.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
But it's actually an extra day.
Speaker 5 (07:20):
Yeah, we get an extra day, we get to buy and.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
An extra day. So yeah, a little extra time off.
Speaker 4 (07:26):
But again that's a situation where I would have just
loved the not see him in the game there.
Speaker 3 (07:32):
But either way, either way monster games.
Speaker 5 (07:34):
Yeah, absolutely, uh no, I mean I absolutely agree to
poll I was one of those that not really concerns.
But like you said, Tommy, they were starting to creep,
right because it was the US. It was things that
were starting to creep because you knew that this team
was better than what they were showing. Right. But like
(07:54):
the championship caliber team that they are, they answered the bell, right,
they answered the bell. They got off the matt and
they answered the bell. And they did it in two
different ways, right, he said, Dommy against Minnesota was the
air attack. It was the air attack Jay when had
probably his best game of his career or one off
the best game is a career passing the football. And
then today we just absolutely dominated dominated them up front
(08:18):
on both lines like we've asked, like we've done in
the past, and we just ran right through. It ran
right through.
Speaker 3 (08:24):
It was funny.
Speaker 5 (08:25):
The first play the game I missed because my, my,
my stream down here glitched and so like they're they're
under center and it comes back he's in the end zone.
I'm like, what the hell I miss the first run
of the year, like first monster run of the year,
and I ad miss it, of course, Uh but no,
it was it was awesome to see and and and
me tom you hit all a lot of it, right,
it was. It was all the things that we asked
(08:46):
for them though, right, multiple guys running the football right
work some of these guys in ship we got in there,
uh Ted Bisbee was, Bigsby was really affective today. Will
Shipley was great in the return game well, which helps
set up some of those drives and some of those
easy And then what do we always say, Tommy, keep
Jahuen under twenty five pass attebs he was twenty, he
(09:09):
was what eighteen for twenty fifteen for twenty for one
hundred and eighty yards and four toddies fifteen for that.
That's the recipe of how to win football games. So yeah,
I mean absolutely agree. You know, we fed off of
what happened last week. We followed our leader in Jalen Hurts,
(09:30):
and we'd cruised to victory today.
Speaker 4 (09:35):
Yeah, I mean, like again, it didn't matter how he
won this week, but but whooping there? You know what
makes it a lot better, Absolutely makes you feel a
lot more, a lot more comfortable about the direction of
this football team and how good are that?
Speaker 3 (09:50):
Right when you start to try to figure out, like
how good are we? You know what I mean?
Speaker 4 (09:53):
Always as trying to figure it out. You know, you're
really good, but just how good are we?
Speaker 3 (09:56):
Well?
Speaker 4 (09:57):
You know, I think this is like a revenge game,
and we have revenge game and you go, really, you
really take it to somebody. You know, this is two
weeks in a row, right, you know, I feel good
about the caliber wins we had and how we looked
and how when we needed something we got it. When
we need to drive, we had it. When we need
an explosive play, we had it. And I think when
(10:17):
you saw from you know, you see that the aerial
tack of explosive plays against Minnesota, you followed up with
the run game exposed to plays this week that leads
into some explosive plays in the air, you know, like
the one that dots it.
Speaker 3 (10:30):
It just shows you that this this team can get
you from so many different ways. It makes him so dangerous. Uh.
And man, it's exciting to have excited. Right. I have
this quarterback too.
Speaker 5 (10:43):
Oh, it's so good. It's so good. Really.
Speaker 4 (10:45):
So he's so efficient, Like he doesn't doesn't turn the
football over, man, he just it's done in the football over.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
He makes makes the right, the right decisions.
Speaker 4 (10:53):
Ninety percent of the time doesn't mean he doesn't mean
he doesn't get shit wrong, right, It doesn't mean it
doesn't have bad games, but we you need to play well, right,
He played, He plays well.
Speaker 5 (11:03):
Absolutely, and right before, right before our eyes, he's putting
himself right back into that MVP conversation. You know, you
would have looked at four weeks, even after six weeks,
you'd be like, no way, he's not even close. But
your team sixtion two, you've got one turnover on the year, yep,
and your team just continues to win football games. So
(11:24):
he's got to be in the conversation. Not saying he's
leading it, right, but he's got to be in that conversation.
Speaker 4 (11:29):
Now, sixteen hundred yards, got a passer rating on one
one fourteen, right, I mean I mean right there, I
mean he's rushed for two or seven, but he's got
he's got total twenty touchdowns. Yeah, thos pits are not
one one interception, I mean right there, twenty total touchdowns
and one and one interception I think two total turnovers.
Speaker 3 (11:50):
That alone puts you in the MVP.
Speaker 4 (11:52):
Come, I mean, this guy's gonna throw for over twenty
five hundred yards this year, easily. You know, Yeah, he'll
throw for over twenty five. He might throw for three thousand.
You know, he's close. He's gonna go close to it,
you know, unless he gets hurt or something like that
or misses a week or two. But at sixteen hundred
through eight games, right, he's got another he's got another
(12:14):
nine eight, No, he got nine to play. Yeah, I
mean to say, nine games to play is that extra game?
And he's gonna come close. He's gonna come close to
three thousand at this rate. I mean, you put these
you double these numbers up. It's it's it's over three
thousand yards, okay, and it's thirty tds and two interceptions.
(12:35):
I mean, that's that's absurd. It's absurd.
Speaker 3 (12:38):
Really, it's absurd. He finishes like that as he's the
MVP of the league.
Speaker 1 (12:42):
And if they only and they only lose four games
the whole year, yeah, he's there. They're probably they're probably
the number one seed like they are right now in
the NFC, and he's the MVP the league.
Speaker 5 (12:56):
And you look at it too, Tommy, like you looked
through these first few games. We obviously weren't clicking on
all cylinders, right, So offensively, right, So there were some
down games in there, and yet we continue to win.
And you talked about it, right, how good are we?
How good are we through through eight weeks? You know, yeah,
record says sixtion two, But what type of teams are
we beating? Well, let's let's rewind, right, you beat a
(13:17):
Dallas team, you know, without your best defensive player. You
beat a Chiefs team, You beat a Rams team, you know,
you beat a Vikis team you just beat obviously, you
beat the Giants, you know what I mean. You're not
beating the Browns every week. You're not beating the Panthers
every week. You're not beating the Dolphins every week, the Jets. No,
you played a top not schedule so far, and you're
(13:40):
coming out to to buy sixtion two. I think every
single one of us when we look at that schedule
early in the year, we're salivating at sixtion two, salivating
at six and two going into the bye. So it's
we are we are that good? We are really good.
And you said it best. We are the beast of
(14:02):
the East and the and the NFC. You know, every
team's got a bad loss, right, you can look at that.
Every team's got a bad loss, you know. Uh, and
we answered ours, We answered ours, ours was in division,
ours wasn't against Oh we also beat the Bucks, right,
you know who are who are pretty good? So uh yeah,
(14:23):
it's there's a lot to be excited about, as you
opened up with. And there's a lot of Keith coming
over most proud I would assume most Eagles stands Anthony
his last two weeks.
Speaker 3 (14:38):
Oh yeah at that point, and you know, some tough,
tough games coming up to Green Baggy.
Speaker 5 (14:43):
Oh yeah, they're all top yeh.
Speaker 4 (14:45):
Home versus Detroit, and then you get maybe a little
bit easier at Dallas home Verst Chicago, and then you.
Speaker 3 (14:50):
Go to you go to the Chargers after that, So
what's not like?
Speaker 4 (14:56):
Not that not the craziest schedule, but still it's still
a tough one.
Speaker 3 (15:02):
Yes, still a tough one. And then I forget where
they I forget where they go after that. But it
doesn't matter, doesn't matter.
Speaker 5 (15:11):
A good thing about One of the good things about
that Dallas game is they put digs on I R.
So he's gonna miss that game. Things will be out
for that game, and as we saw today, they can't
they can't cover anybody with that secondary with that secondary,
but no digs is huge. So yeah, out of the
(15:32):
buy at Green Bay Home Detroit at Dallas Home Bears.
That's all black Friday, So we get an extra couple
of days before we go out to l A for
this Face and Chargers, and then it's Home Raiders at
Washington at Buffalo Home Washington, and there's Washington games. As
(15:53):
we've see with with the with the Commanders, they might
not be they might not even be in it anymore,
you know, depending on how long Jane and Jayden Daniels
is out.
Speaker 3 (16:05):
Yeah, it's all they're already.
Speaker 5 (16:06):
There are already three and four, so he's figured he's
out at least two weeks.
Speaker 4 (16:10):
I would say, big, wait and see there where on
where they're at. You know, Stafford might be the front
runner right now, but I don't know how anybody's a
front runner when a guy's only got one turnover, you know,
or two turnovers total one interception.
Speaker 3 (16:26):
It's hard.
Speaker 4 (16:27):
It's hard to not be the front runner when your
team has the best record in in the conference.
Speaker 3 (16:33):
So it's hard.
Speaker 4 (16:34):
It's hard for anybody else to beat that out in
my opinion, until somebody has a better record than him,
or until somebody's running away with the conference, and I
think body of work, and I say this, I know
guys are probably averaging three hundred yards a.
Speaker 3 (16:46):
Game and have thrown for a lot more yards. I
get that. I get that, but I don't know. I
think when you win a.
Speaker 4 (16:54):
Super Bowl m VP that next year, it makes it
makes you a lot easier to win those types of
awards because the name recognition.
Speaker 3 (17:01):
Right, So, like I.
Speaker 4 (17:02):
Said, if he throws, I guessually I'm talking about four
thousand yards or four thousand yards.
Speaker 3 (17:07):
Right, you know he throws for that? If he if
he throws for that, I mean, that's that's crazy.
Speaker 4 (17:14):
That then then that means you know, we throws for
We talked about thirty two touchdowns, you know, two interceptions.
Speaker 3 (17:22):
Hard not to win it.
Speaker 5 (17:24):
Yeah, and your team's one of the best teams there.
Speaker 3 (17:27):
Teams thirteen and four say it all works the same way,
you know what I mean? Yeah? Yeah, divisions pretty.
Speaker 4 (17:34):
Much got and unless something drastic happens, right, I mean
something majors happened for that. So I don't want to
automatically like crowned the division yet, but you know, we
got a two game, two game in the lost columns
separates us in the Cowboys. But that being said, we
(17:56):
hold an extra game in the win column, you know,
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (18:02):
Yeah, yeah, it's a way.
Speaker 5 (18:03):
Right now, we're up one nothing on the head to head, So.
Speaker 4 (18:06):
It depended over if you go to Dallas and you
just beat them up right and say, Washington losers tomorrow night,
the division is.
Speaker 3 (18:13):
Like close to being over. But again, you gotta stay
healthy for all that for sure, for that conversation.
Speaker 4 (18:19):
But yeah, I mean, yeah, Javan Daris Mons and he's
on pay for MVP too, So yeah.
Speaker 5 (18:26):
I just said he's in the run. I'm not saying
he's the least.
Speaker 3 (18:29):
Yeah, I'm not gonna yeah, I'm gonna tell you he's
gonna win and guaranteed.
Speaker 5 (18:33):
But you look up, like like we were talking right
two weeks ago, this guy was falling in Philadelphia, right,
loser to a row, Philly sucked, Flyers started off. Just
start to hear the phillis.
Speaker 4 (18:44):
Yeah, yeah, like, let's not act like something changed that, but.
Speaker 5 (18:48):
At least at least the Eagles got back on track, right,
And then, like you said, you look up and oh, hey,
who's at least in the conversation, Hey, who's knocking Hey,
hey guys.
Speaker 4 (19:00):
Yeah, uh, Now I THOWT thirteen and four belt where
I had him. He says he has them A twelve
and five should be at least a two seeds.
Speaker 5 (19:09):
Now he's back, right, Billy was the oh we should
be wanted food too, wooded sick. Bill.
Speaker 3 (19:15):
He's back.
Speaker 4 (19:21):
Uh yeah, so yeah, I thought so too, Greg, I thought, Brett, yeah,
pretty good today.
Speaker 5 (19:29):
What it helps when you know, right, like you could
go through a whole week of practice, you can go through,
you know, all the meetings and all the training throughout
the week in the last two weeks knowing that you know,
Jurggens is out right. There's no if fans or boughts
about it. So yeah, he did look really good. Greg,
You're absolutely right. But I think a lot of that
most obvious and it's obvious, but that's what happens when
(19:52):
you know and you have a whole week of.
Speaker 3 (19:54):
Practice about being prepared.
Speaker 5 (19:57):
Yeah, uh, Philly, Finn, the trade deadline is going to
be interesting. You almost well, it's the trade deadline is
going to happen before you play your next game, because
it happens next Tuesday and you're on the bye week.
(20:18):
So in that sense, yes, it's going to be interesting
to see what they do with anything now after this week.
Speaker 3 (20:31):
Yeah, I don't know you.
Speaker 4 (20:32):
I don't know how you don't call Cleveland. I don't
know how you don't call somebody. These teams are like
way out of it. If you need if you need
another corner, like we talked about Wednesday, whatever you think
you need. I don't think you need another pass rusher.
I think we've talked about that. I definitely think you
could use another corner at this rate. So I don't
(20:53):
know why you know you want to be on the phone. No,
even I agree, even if it's just to get deeper
at the position.
Speaker 3 (20:59):
Even and it's not like a star.
Speaker 5 (21:05):
And the way Miles Garrett played today, and then of
course the way he reacted, Hey he might be available.
That's what you get for taking the money to stay
in Cleveland, you moron.
Speaker 3 (21:16):
Well, I mean.
Speaker 4 (21:19):
Again, they're just they're just playing the wrong quarterback. So
they're not there they are. I mean, he's great, Again,
that's the wrong quarterback.
Speaker 3 (21:30):
They're playing the wrong one.
Speaker 5 (21:33):
Doesn't mean obviously knows a lot more than we do,
and he.
Speaker 4 (21:35):
Doesn't mean it doesn't mean it's the right one. It
just means it's the wrong one. They're just starting the
wrong one out of these two. That's all I'm telling you.
They'll be more competitive. I guarantee it. They'll be more competitive.
Speaker 5 (21:46):
Well, they won a game last week.
Speaker 4 (21:48):
That's great. He's throwing five yards, he's throw he can't
throw the ball. They're tough to watch. It's tough to
watch that guy throw.
Speaker 5 (21:58):
So door banged the ship out him else.
Speaker 4 (22:06):
Tell you what I like to thanking basbe a lot
when he's not. Fum won't kick for talking returns. Yeah,
Joey had a great had a great game. It was
fun to see.
Speaker 5 (22:14):
Yeah, it wasn't like to see him finally get involved
in the in the offensive play calling.
Speaker 4 (22:22):
You would think, say, and that's what he has to do.
I mean it's one week. I mean you're gonna see it,
and you know it's a it's a tailed two tapes
Jordan Addison and then whatever the Giants have, right are
going to be two different different things.
Speaker 3 (22:39):
But you know, you definitely need Union.
Speaker 4 (22:41):
An upgrade there, right, I mean that can't change just
because of this week. I still think you need something
that's better. And I would think how he knows that too.
But I'm curious to see what he does. I think
Greg said it like, it's gonna be an interesting, interesting
week here to see if some stuff is done to
make this football team better. I think when you're six
(23:02):
and two, right, you're you're you're automatically all in.
Speaker 3 (23:06):
Now right, you lose this week, it's it's different. You're
still in. But I mean, how like you know you're
so all in. But I think even when you win,
it's even more all in.
Speaker 4 (23:15):
Yeah, but I would say a cornerback. There's tons of
teams that are bad. You know, you go through their
their depth charts and and you know, you try to
see if somebody's available. That's all we can do.
Speaker 5 (23:28):
Yeah, and we as we went over on Wednesday, We've
got going over the last couple weeks. There's gonna be
there's plenty of guys available, you know what I mean,
There's there's plenty of guys available, just a matter of
what the what the price is.
Speaker 4 (23:41):
I mean, I would like I said, I would love
a Denzel Ward. I'll go spend the money and the picks.
Speaker 3 (23:46):
But that's just me.
Speaker 4 (23:47):
I mean, I'm I'm an all in type of cat.
Like I know I got this guy under team control, right,
So I'm not worried about that, and I'm getting myself
an all Pro caliber player to go along with what
my two other young corners, and it becomes a position
of strength more than it already is.
Speaker 5 (24:06):
Again, right, we were there before.
Speaker 3 (24:08):
We were there last year.
Speaker 4 (24:10):
We were there last year, so it's time to go
back there. And there was a big reason why our
front got pressure. But it takes too the tangier there obviously,
for sure, No, no, ron I would not trade AJ
Brown for a modified corner because of the cap hit.
Speaker 3 (24:24):
He can't do it. So the AJ Brown like.
Speaker 4 (24:27):
Trade rumors, why they're so stupid is they can't do
it because they can't take the dead cap hit to
do it. It can't be done though after the year
if they really wanted to trade them, and that's a
question we can talk about after the year.
Speaker 3 (24:42):
It does nothing for us right now because we can't.
Speaker 4 (24:45):
That's why I think the report he's that good, I know,
exactly good, and you're not trying to trade him, But.
Speaker 5 (24:52):
I'm saying that nothing happens in season.
Speaker 3 (24:56):
Yeah, you can't do it right now, so it just
doesn't make sense.
Speaker 5 (24:59):
Yeah, percent.
Speaker 4 (25:02):
To a fight at the game, yeahs are falling over.
Speaker 5 (25:13):
Pet's heads are falling off. Ress had a banner day
to day.
Speaker 3 (25:25):
Yeah, they were bad all over all over, they're bad. Yeah,
yeah all the time.
Speaker 4 (25:31):
Philly Fance had props the Fangio too, changing it up
and locking them down.
Speaker 3 (25:34):
Yeah, he did change it up, as expected.
Speaker 5 (25:40):
It not hard to I mean absolutely props. I think
I think having to Kobe d back for a full
game though, too, it helps that as well, you know,
because you can move to hot cambell around and and
allow them to Kobe just to kind of roam room
there in the middle and do what he does best,
and that's just tackle.
Speaker 4 (25:59):
Oh and I think he showed it again today and
you're you're now that. I think our run defense gets
better when the Kobe has not a shot at ja hide. No,
I think jaehikh should be used like as a Swiss
army knife like they're using them. Yeah, he's just the
guy who probably just needs to put on a little
bit more more weight. He's probably five ten pounds more
(26:19):
from being able to stop the run a little bit better.
Not that he doesn't stop the run well, but again
he's a rookie. He's a rookie he's a rookie in
this like, you need to give him time. So again,
I think this makes our defense better. It's nice to
get that.
Speaker 3 (26:33):
Like at the trade deadline air quote that the Kobe Dean.
Speaker 5 (26:36):
Back, that's a huge deal. Absolutely, tom so.
Speaker 4 (26:38):
Her run defense been been better when he's been on
the field. Yes, definitely makes a difference. And now another
two weeks off for him. Yeah, right, so he gets
a little revved up, gets the field up, and now
he gets to breathe a little bit too, which I
think is so important when you're when you're like rev
(27:00):
a guy.
Speaker 3 (27:00):
Up and he's coming off a major injury.
Speaker 4 (27:03):
I think I think the buy sort of comes at
a good a good time for him for sure. Two
games back, he sort of gets some some nix and bruises,
there's probably some stiffness with it, different things like that.
Speaker 3 (27:14):
I think these two weeks just helped that process too.
So or at least a week.
Speaker 4 (27:18):
Off, right, they come back and practice obviously, right, but
a week off Yeah and don don Yeah, this gotabo
was discotts thing.
Speaker 3 (27:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (27:27):
I was shocked. Sorry, I was shocked. That didn't make
the rounds on Twitter like they normally do. You know,
like the replay like that you almost have to go
searching for it in order to find it.
Speaker 3 (27:36):
It was.
Speaker 5 (27:37):
It was pretty pretty interesting to see that. Like even
Twitter was kind of like, you know, hey, maybe we
don't want to show this over and over again.
Speaker 4 (27:44):
Yeah, yeah, disgusting. I think everybody agreed on that one.
Speaker 5 (27:48):
Yeah, that was brutal and you hate you hate to
see it kid like that. You know, I know we're
obviously we hate the giants, but you don't ever want
to see No, see that happened to a kid like that?
Speaker 4 (28:01):
Now you pull growing or shit happens right like you
should haven't, but you don't ever want to see that stuff.
Speaker 3 (28:07):
One of mine. You're coming up limp right, and you.
Speaker 4 (28:11):
Know, twist, twist and ankle, you know, you come up
twisting an ankle or something like.
Speaker 3 (28:16):
That and high ankle spraying.
Speaker 4 (28:18):
Yeah, I'm all good with that that kind of stuff.
Speaker 5 (28:21):
Absolutely not yeah or not scum bag's like Brad Ryer,
but that's not shocking.
Speaker 4 (28:32):
Nope, But yeah, I thought again, I thought there were
so many positives that he can continue to build off of.
And you know, a line that was said did not
be any good anymore, And you know, all this stuff
I just thought they they came out and definitely imposed
their will right from jump. I mean it was you know,
(28:52):
it was five five yards of carry clips, you know,
and you had one running back rush for eleven point
six yards of carry. I think it was big. That's absurd. Yeah,
oh yeah, one hundred yards. Had one hundred yards and
average eleven points six yards to carry.
Speaker 5 (29:06):
So yeah, yeah, it felt like every time he touched
the boy dashed him and he did. And it's like
it's one of those where like your eyes are telling you, yeah,
those are real, like that's real.
Speaker 3 (29:20):
Definitely was real.
Speaker 5 (29:21):
Yeah, but it was good to see him, you know,
he did because he didn't he hasn't done in the
return game, like like we anticipated when the trade happened,
right you you didn't get that in the return game,
and and he was. He was awesome time and it
was great because you needed it there in the second
half when it obviously it looked like, uh, you know,
(29:42):
even before Sequin got banged up, it looked like he
was a little a little slow just to Tad, but
he uh, he came in and spelled him perfectly. And outside.
So Saquon had fourteen Tank had nine carries, jailing four
and will ship we with three, So that's sixteen to
fourteenth between three other guys. And if you just want
(30:06):
to go tank and Shipley, that's eleven to fourteen. If
you just look at running backs, no living in Markley's carries,
he had fourteen carries and four catches.
Speaker 3 (30:19):
Yeah, we talked about it on Wednesday.
Speaker 4 (30:21):
I would like to keep him around that fifteen touch Mark,
so he's right around there and you know, tank tank
again one hundred yards and along the twenty nine. So
oh yeah, it just shows you with nine attempts, it's
just gashes, gashes, gashes, gashes, and he had a you
know again as signing that looks already started to pay
(30:42):
off for us or trade, I should say trade.
Speaker 3 (30:45):
Yeah, yeah, goodnovation from the fans today too, Eddie. I
mean that doesn't get talked about ever.
Speaker 4 (30:57):
When it comes to Philly fans, but I think they
all realize, you know, down there, even with some cocktails
and them, that at that level of concern for an
injury like that. H I mean, Bay's backs opens the
lineman down. Oh it was down Tom. That's the name,
(31:26):
that's his name, Tom, Tom.
Speaker 3 (31:30):
Yeah, it was.
Speaker 5 (31:35):
It was nice to see the offense, Tommy build off
of what they did last week with the with the
jumbo package, with the under center, you started to see
different wrinkles out of it, right, so the you know,
Saquon's first run was essentially the same the same lineup
in the same formation that we got Davonte's bomb on
last week, so you know, whin up that way. And
(31:58):
then oh ship, there's Tekwon breaking for sixty yards too.
So now it's it's another wrinkle in the offense, and
it's nice to see whether it's patool driven. I mean,
he's the offensive coordinator, so we'll give him credit. Right.
We ripped his ass for the whole first four weeks,
six weeks, right, so we're gonna turn around and give
credit where credits due. You talked about it earlier. The
(32:19):
play coin was better, and it's nice to see the
same formations and you're building off of that now, you know,
I like really like when they're going under center. We
begged for it for years to go under center, and
now you're starting to do different things out of it,
and it's starting to become super effective and it's starting
to be really good for this offense.
Speaker 4 (32:41):
M oh, it is it is, and I love the
jumbo SATs, and they've been they've been running out of
it and been thrown out of it. You're right, it's
been completely unpredictable across the board. Yeah, especially more over
these last two weeks. So this week, even more so,
this week, even more so. You saw a little bit,
a little bit deeper of it. Yeah, for sure, And
(33:06):
Sweep says the Eagles finally had four quarters for once.
Speaker 3 (33:08):
Yeah they did.
Speaker 4 (33:09):
I mean, yes, you got it, Sweep. I know you've
been asking for it. You've been asking for my guy,
and he finally got it.
Speaker 3 (33:16):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (33:16):
Social media is already starting a narrative how great we
can be without a j even though it was a
giant's minds they hurt running back, that's all. Well, listen
to the next two weeks. It's the Philly way.
Speaker 5 (33:27):
I mean, I don't know, it's disgusting.
Speaker 4 (33:30):
Yeah, I mean we listen, know we can we could
we be? Could we be really good without him?
Speaker 3 (33:36):
Sure? I mean are we are we better with him? Yes?
Speaker 5 (33:41):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (33:42):
Like I don't know what we get back for him,
so you're not getting I'm just saying, like, until I
know what that is, I can't say we're better or
or worse without him. But I know how good we
are with them, So knowing how good we are with them,
I don't even want to have that conversation, nor do
I even think it needs to be hat we won
(34:02):
a super Bowl, Like this is stupid, it's stupids.
Speaker 3 (34:07):
We're six and two.
Speaker 5 (34:09):
But I did I did see that Bill Fritz Fritz
is already out there. Oh maybe we're better without Age,
And I'm like, are you shitting me right now? Like,
are you really shitting me?
Speaker 4 (34:18):
You know, these idiots will start we'll start doing this
kind of stuck Greg, No.
Speaker 5 (34:22):
I know, yeah, I mean, like the the game's not
even over yet, and we're already we're already having this
conversation and we all know that we're gonna be really
good with or without him. We're obviously a lot better
with him, though, because Davonte's that dude, right, So the
Vonte's that dude that you're gonna be good. But you're
not deeper. You're definitely not deeper. If we weren't playing
(34:45):
the Giants, I don't think the game is as easy
that this week, because you look at it. In went
the passing game again, we only threw twenty times, so
there's only so much ball to go around. But Davonte
had six catches on nine targets. John one obviously that
monster catch, but on two targets got it only had
three targets five and Gibson had won. And that's in
(35:09):
the twenty that's in the twenty.
Speaker 3 (35:10):
So but like.
Speaker 5 (35:12):
Outside of that, you're you're two guys, you're Davonte and Dallas.
Offenses can stop two guys. Offenses can't stop four guys.
When you add AJ back to that mix and you
add sakuon in there, but we're so much better with AJ.
It's not even it's not even a conversation. It shouldn't
(35:33):
be a conversation. It's not happening. Let's just move on.
But of course we gotta draw clicks, we gotta we
gotta talk about this, we gotta talk about that because
we're a dying media market and we're a dying media
just in general. That can't that can't generate conversation like
legit regular conversation.
Speaker 3 (35:52):
Well, i'm sure that, yeah, I'm sure.
Speaker 4 (35:54):
The the the final nay on the cloth and was
when you know, Jo the dots and comes down with
a forty Yarder. Yeah, and it's like, oh, we're better,
you know, we're better, And I like, listen, maybe we're
still really good. Maybe you get two picks back for
a guy and and you got to you know, two
first round wide receivers still and you're you're still really good, right,
(36:16):
I'm not. I'm not gonna say like they're not really
good or they would and still be really good. But
to lose a weapon like that, I don't think that's
good for anybody. That's all. That's where I stand on
for sure. I just don't know that's good for anybody.
Like you said, you're way more dangerous when you got
to put on the tape and you got to try
to figure out a way stop A. J. Brown, Devonte Smith,
(36:39):
Saquon Barkley, Jalen hurts his legs, and Dallas Godd who
who leads the league, leads the NFC.
Speaker 3 (36:46):
Or the league.
Speaker 4 (36:46):
I believe in touchdowns with Seth Ty waituh Amon Saint
Brown who plays tomorrow night, who most likely will catch
another one and have.
Speaker 3 (36:54):
Eight because that's all stars, ambasses. Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 4 (37:04):
Yeah, I mean, it would have should have been whatever
it was, but it was one seventy nine and so
you just.
Speaker 5 (37:11):
Said we had four quarters of great football. Never would have,
could have, should have.
Speaker 4 (37:15):
Yeah, it was efficient. Man, I don't know. I don't
have a problem here. And Jay, you're right. We called
the screen. We called the screen. Got a big first down,
and how about us too, on like a second and
thirty one, right, we get yeah, we get it, we
get it, we get we get actually get that first
(37:36):
down for once.
Speaker 3 (37:38):
Never happens, never happens.
Speaker 5 (37:42):
Yeah, that was Bigsy's big run. Comes out of the tent.
Celebrate the run.
Speaker 4 (37:48):
It was great, Luke says, six and two and it's
just starting to click. Six of their back vibes are
so high right now.
Speaker 3 (37:55):
So high. And the young Flyers are.
Speaker 4 (37:59):
Playing tough to play well, yeah, young Flyers are playing top.
Speaker 5 (38:02):
He got Trevor's eagers on the on the score sheet
this weekend with some nasty goals.
Speaker 3 (38:09):
Yep, yeah.
Speaker 5 (38:13):
Times.
Speaker 3 (38:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (38:18):
I mean Joe always does get touchdowns, always does that
big catches for this football team. You know a guy
that I said we need it back this year. There
wasn't a lot of tight ends on the market. You know,
they could have went that way in a draft.
Speaker 3 (38:31):
They didn't.
Speaker 4 (38:33):
It's a guy I think they're going to continue to
work out deals with UH and you know, hopefully they
can get him for well, since he's in the building,
they maybe ink them for you know, a two or
three year deal and just call it. Call at the
end to him, you know, trying to play somewhere else.
Speaker 5 (38:51):
Yeah, I mean he's obviously Yeah. I mean, it's all
he does catch touchdowns anymore. I feel like it's Chris Carter.
It's like Chris Carter.
Speaker 3 (38:59):
Yeah, does that town? That's that guy.
Speaker 4 (39:07):
Oh yeah, Donnie, you gotta get I gotta get cast
a DJ jersey.
Speaker 3 (39:11):
He loves it too. He loves it. So, I mean,
it's all.
Speaker 4 (39:15):
Last night he was up, said put him to bed
and they were still playing. It wasn't it wasn't happy
with me, And I was like, dude, they're you know,
it's all good. They played Monday two before bed and
I'm like, yeah, yeah, they played for a bed.
Speaker 3 (39:30):
Yeah, he's locked in. Definitely, gotta give me a VJ jersey.
Speaker 4 (39:34):
You know, he's got ten years ahead, So I mean
VJ would take him through high school at this rate,
you know what I mean.
Speaker 5 (39:39):
Yeah, it's a shame he's got such a ship number though, yeah,
not a number I'm really looking to buy.
Speaker 3 (39:45):
What's if they keep that, right, I would assume.
Speaker 5 (39:49):
I mean, there's always a chance, but I would think
I would think with the backlash that the that the
uniform companies would take it. You know, if they sold
a whole bunch of uniforms and then a year later changes
his number, they probably refund him in and or give
you a deal or something. But I see when he
get sucks because that number is terrible.
Speaker 3 (40:10):
Yeah, it is. Yeah, he isn't all round tyle.
Speaker 5 (40:17):
Yeah, I mean we definitely miss him when he's not available.
That's one fact. When he's not on the field, we
definitely miss him.
Speaker 3 (40:32):
Yeah, our assistant taking taking his real number. I'm right there,
I'm right here, going on one second.
Speaker 5 (40:38):
Yeah, Coach Kyle, coach codel fucking coach Kyle. Jesus Eddie
likes the seventy seven, Oh Eddie, Oh Eddie. He likes
to seventy seven Greg Miller six ers in a whole
(41:00):
And his game was fired the other night. Level football
quit flopping for the lover God. Yeah, and that step
back three he tried to take too, It was like
the most inopportune time to take that type of shot.
But we shouldn't be shocked. It's LaMelo, it's the NBA.
They're just gonna take whatever they want. Like I think
(41:21):
it was. The game was tied at that point. You're
taking a step back three from the hash mark like, no,
wonder you lost the game you lost on that shot.
Dollar Morey might be the king of drafting. Yeah, he
guys drafted well, and he might need to be the
king of of everything else with the UH, with what
(41:43):
Bobby Mark's coming on board as well, a dude from ESPN.
He jumped on board when they're under the Harris Uh,
under the Harris organization. So I feel I bet you
it feels like that is uh. His job might be
on the on the line, and it should. If you
don't get past the second round again, it absolutely should. Uh.
(42:12):
Jay says Ringo was a decent today. Gotta give them problems. Yeah,
I thought our COVID to Tommy, you mentioned it earlier.
I thought our coverage was really good today and granted
it is just the Giants, but you still gotta go
out and do it right. We talked about that. I
think I brought it up on Wednesday that the Giants
have nobody. So this should be a lockdown game. This
(42:32):
should be you don't get anything. This should be like
the remember the Titans type of they don't get another yard. Right,
that's the way this game should have gone because of
what they have or lack thereof, uh there on the outside.
And they did that for the most part. And Jay,
you're abolutely right. Ringo was really good today. Uh gotta
gotta give them the problems and when we're sitting here,
(42:54):
gonna destroy them at any chance we get. Uh yeah, yeah.
It is a football number. It's not a basketball number.
None in the numbers in basketball or basketball numbers anymore.
Speaker 3 (43:09):
It's at um.
Speaker 5 (43:11):
You know, the guys feel like Quinon is beginning to
get his weaknesses shown. He's gotten away with long receptions
giving up lately. But the penalties under a team, well
then they don't count. I will say. The one thing
with Quentlan that you do see though, he is very handsy.
Yeah right, so he is very handsy. So at some
(43:31):
point that's going to catch up with him, whether you know,
he gets called for holding, he gets called for pis ah.
But you know they don't count though, right, So I
mean we can we can say it's concerning, but it
doesn't count when at the end of the day.
Speaker 4 (43:48):
Yeah, I mean that's what I would say too. I mean,
but he is a little bit too handsy, and at
times we say it, I mean corners and it's leg
get beat.
Speaker 3 (43:58):
They all do.
Speaker 4 (44:02):
But I also think he's really good, so you know,
and I also believe if Howie makes a move in
the next nine days for that other corner spot, I
think it just makes him better too.
Speaker 5 (44:14):
And you see we saw on that on that deep
ball to Slaton that got called back though uh Brady
mentioned and the defense and Vicar is leaving him out
to dry. Not about the dry, but he's leaving him
one on one right that they Brady showed out on
that on that coverage, it looks to the to the
quarterback like it's double, but then Reid comes over, plays
(44:36):
more in the middle and leaves the sideline to Quinn on.
So they absolutely have have all confidence and faith in him,
as they should. But he's he's turned in to be
a beast. He just got I just think he's a
little too handsy.
Speaker 4 (44:50):
Yeah, And also, like you said, I think he is
probably left on an island a lot more this year
than he was last year, for sure, so you'll you'll
get beat a little bit more when that's the case. Absolutely, No,
Davonte is awesome. I mean Davonte to me, Eddie is
the guy who was a gold gold, gold jacket on
(45:13):
Draft night. I don't think much change is getting in
the leg. He catch, You're right, he catches everything and
catches everything.
Speaker 3 (45:21):
You're so good. I feel like he's always open to.
Speaker 5 (45:25):
Yeah, he is. He absolutely is. He's awesome. He's awesome,
and everybody, everybody in the locker room says he's the toughest.
So he's pound for pound, the toughest guy on the team.
You know, they don't worry about him taking hits, They
don't worry about this, that and the other, just because
of how you know, how much he works and how
(45:46):
much he works at his craft and and just how
tough he is in that moment in the moments. And
that's that's what we knew coming out of a bambit
we were getting. We knew that, we knew we were the.
Speaker 3 (46:00):
Stud Yeah, we definitely did.
Speaker 4 (46:08):
Yeah, I think there was those types of comparisons, don
for sure. Marvin Yeah, Philly Pants says, I'm excited I'm
excited seeing Q travel this year and he's up for it.
Speaker 3 (46:23):
Yeah for sure, but we're sure absolutely, Stevens says war
much greetings from Chicago.
Speaker 5 (46:30):
Bro Oh what up Steven? Thank you brother?
Speaker 3 (46:35):
Where the heck is Ty?
Speaker 4 (46:36):
Robinson asked swoop.
Speaker 3 (46:39):
He's a rookie.
Speaker 4 (46:40):
Yeah, that's probably why you don't see a lot of them.
Speaker 5 (46:46):
You got some mop up duty today?
Speaker 4 (46:49):
Yeah, I mean, I'm sure. I'm just sure growing pains. Yeah,
I think a lot of a lot of times. He's
reason he's laid around peck. You know, it's hard to
say where is the guy when he's a late round pick,
you know, like, why isn't a game run?
Speaker 3 (47:06):
Well, he's a he's a fourth round pick.
Speaker 4 (47:08):
Right, Yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean it's it's hardier one,
you know.
Speaker 3 (47:14):
For now, you want to tell me a year two
you don't.
Speaker 4 (47:16):
See a guy a lot, and it tells you everything
you need to know about about you know, a player's
growth from year one to year two. But ye're one,
I don't put a lot into it unless you're you know,
first or second round pick with you know where the
depth chart's open for you to play. Yeah, that's that's
when you know the depth chart isn't open and you're
(47:40):
not making an impact and your first second round pick
then okay.
Speaker 5 (47:47):
Yeah, yeah, I assume you you to solomore. But the
way we've played the last few weeks, who's you playing over?
Speaker 3 (47:57):
Yeah? Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 4 (48:05):
He did drop that that ball last year Jay in Washington,
But yeah, he doesn't doesn't drop many does not drop many.
Speaker 5 (48:17):
Probably won't see a ball like that from him dropped.
Speaker 3 (48:20):
Again, No, I think it was a different quarterback too, right,
Yeah it was Kenny. Well it was Kenny. So it's
just like a different ball, a different ball.
Speaker 4 (48:33):
Not making an excuse, but that that makes the most
sense on why he possibly drops it.
Speaker 3 (48:39):
Just comes out the hand different than Jalen for sure.
Speaker 4 (48:46):
Underrated corner is a Lante Taylor from from the Saints.
Speaker 3 (48:55):
Yeah again, I'm not sure the Saints.
Speaker 4 (48:57):
It depends, like what if if it's a younger guy
team control, you know all those things matter here, so
it's got you know, it's gotta be a younger guy
that maybe isn't under team control, so you can see
it all something like that, because a lot of bad teams,
if you got don't want to team control, they're not
(49:18):
gonna probably not gonna want to trade him.
Speaker 5 (49:22):
And I also don't know that this team right now
is looking for one of those young guys that are
under the radar. This team's ready to win another super Bowl.
This team wants a guy like a Denzel Ward right,
like you know, wants an established guy to come in
and fill that void in the offseason. Yeah, that's it.
That's the type of offseason move where you bring a
(49:42):
guy in and you want to see what you can do,
how how well you can mold him into something. They
did that with They did that with uh with Akilley,
they tried to that. I mean they didn't bring him in,
but that's what they tried to go with Wikiley, Right,
You tried to go with the young guy, give him
his shot and see where he went. Obviously that didn't
work out or it hasn't worked out to plant. So yeah,
(50:06):
I don't know that that type of player, don don
is who you target at a trade deadline for a
team that's got, you know, back to back Super Bowl aspirations.
Speaker 4 (50:17):
Yeah, I've got a third in the year, Greg who
says then the warder Darius Snead, Yeah, Tyreek Wallen and that.
Speaker 5 (50:25):
I agree with her.
Speaker 4 (50:26):
From Seattle who's been linked here a little bit, so,
you know, but yeah, I agree that too.
Speaker 3 (50:34):
Sneed is that it hasn't been good either.
Speaker 5 (50:37):
No, that's why let him go.
Speaker 3 (50:38):
Yeah, I got paid pay amount of money and wasn't
really that good. So but who knows.
Speaker 6 (50:47):
We'll say, yeah, yeah, it'll be interesting because it's coming and.
Speaker 3 (51:00):
We'll see what they do.
Speaker 5 (51:01):
Yeah. Robert also agree as Keilly wasn't near his bead today. No,
it wasn't. Yeah, like we said, who knows what happens?
You know, maybe they do they do they take? Do
they take the bye week? And getting Brandon Grand back,
and like we talked about Tommy, how you know, maybe
(51:22):
adding a pass rusher allows those guys to not have
to cover as long and and their ability to to
get beat isn't there, right, I mean everyone's obviously gonna
get beat. Uh, we just talked about that. But what's
made our team so good in the past is our
defensive line has always got enough pressure to where you
(51:42):
didn't have to cover for five six, seven eight seconds, right,
it was three four five seconds and then you were
the ball was out. So do they believe that with
the with the with Brandon Grant coming back that that
was enough. Who knows that's gonna be. It's gonna be
wild to think about and talk about over the next
(52:03):
over in the next week, because it's going to it's
going to be interesting to see what they do.
Speaker 3 (52:09):
Now. It really is.
Speaker 4 (52:10):
I mean, like I said, I think they believe they
have enough there with getting Olan Smith back as well. Yeah,
that they have enough upfront.
Speaker 3 (52:21):
I really do believe that they got to that.
Speaker 4 (52:23):
They gotta believe that the guy they need is in
the secondary. You know, if they're really looking to upgrade
a place, maybe they're not too you know, it might
be a position where they're not looking really looking around.
Speaker 3 (52:37):
Maybe they feel good where they're at.
Speaker 4 (52:39):
I don't know how that would be the case at
the second corner position, but you know, internally they got
you know, they can think of a Poyer differently than
we do, right for sure, Right, especially a younger player
like a Ringo. Right, they might like some things he
does you know, did over his last two weeks.
Speaker 5 (53:00):
Yeah, for sure. No, you're right. I mean our secondary's coach,
I'm blanking. His name is Christian something. But over the
last few years he's been great at developing these young
guys so what now all of a sudden, like is
he not like is he not continuing to develop? You know,
(53:21):
we see mccooba come in day one, and yeah, sure
there's there's plays that he probably gets beat, but he's
taking a ball away so far at a really high clip.
Uh So they they probably do have a lot different
of an idea of a player in house than than
we do.
Speaker 4 (53:42):
Yeah, I mean, and I also think, like, guys, guy,
we're guys drafted matters too, right, you talk about Coop
and mccouba and and Q. I mean, these guys are
drafted higher than Killey Ringo for sure, So you know,
develop it's easier when you have talent, like a more
(54:04):
talented player. You know, it's just common sense. This isn't
this isn't rocket science. Here, probably probably easier to develop
those first second round picks. Now you got to hit
the picks too. There's there's a lot of other factors
that play into this. Killey Ringo on draft night, the
(54:25):
biggest question mark was the playing playing any corner position
in this way because of his hicks. That was the
comp That was the compo is going to translate more
towards the safety role, right, so you know, here we are,
and I think he's I think he got I think
he's gotten better. But again, is that good enough for
(54:47):
us to to be some of these high powered offenses
that we could see, you know, down even down the
stretch here? Yeh better yet yeah, in the postseason. So
I mean that's what that's what I would say. If
you got the you gotta play the Rams, and you
got to play Adams and and Puka. You know, I
(55:08):
probably want to have two lockdown corners for sure going
you know, or lockdown as possible going into that game.
Speaker 5 (55:16):
Even you look at coming out of the By, going
up against Green Bay. Yeah, I mean green Bay's got
some weapons that yeah, they you know, they generally underachieved,
but they can spread the ball around. They got four
or five guys that you that you know, you've got
to worry about at any given time. So and then
we go. Then we played Detroit right right and near
after that, and same thing. Obviously we know Detroit between
(55:38):
the two the double headed Monster running back and then
Saint Brown on the outside. You know, so we're you know,
coming out of the By, we're gonna be tested right away.
Speaker 4 (55:48):
Yeah, we'll find out, Well, I mean, I think we
know a little bit and we'll find out more too.
Speaker 3 (55:56):
We'll find out more.
Speaker 5 (56:00):
On if yeah, oh yeah, what's the point what do
we doing? Well?
Speaker 4 (56:06):
Well, no too, if we got somebody yes, yeah, yeah,
that's the other part. So it's not like, oh, it's
a wait and see. But today definitely did some numbers
in terms of rankings. You know, thirteenth and rush yards
now that's big. You know past yards were fourteenth, so
(56:26):
the last you know, a week before helped us there
a lot past average or seventh, so that that's good, right,
getting up there yet and points were fit so and
we're still run first team essentially rush the time seventh.
Speaker 3 (56:45):
Yeah, so you.
Speaker 5 (56:46):
Know, so good, so good?
Speaker 3 (56:50):
Oh yeah, he one could add could Ado fifty that.
Speaker 5 (56:56):
He could have some he could have yep, he could
have got back his uh start finish season for sure.
Speaker 4 (57:04):
Yeah, James, I'm interested to see if he trades for anybody,
James said, the interested to see what position group he
trades for.
Speaker 3 (57:11):
Yeah, that's what I think we are. We are right.
Speaker 4 (57:16):
You know, we got some time off from Eagles, which
is going to give us a little bit of time
here to hear not only on this show, right, now,
but next week and on Wednesday night, they really talks
some shop when it comes to the Sixers, and you
know what we're seeing on the court right now, and
you know, realizing that we got two guards or one
(57:38):
guard and a small forward that's not even playing right
now either and for what we have that isn't here.
So and that's the phill up the seventy six Ers.
They've been they've been fun to watch for the first
two the first two games. And the team that was
down the fourth quarter in both games by seven and
they come back and win both of them. I think
(58:00):
that's a sign of something new here.
Speaker 3 (58:02):
Huge.
Speaker 4 (58:02):
You know, we're usually the team that does the opposite there.
We're usually up seven and we're going to squander a lead.
But we've been find you know, finding ways to win early.
You know, Tyras Maxi's is a is a star in
this league.
Speaker 3 (58:17):
All right.
Speaker 4 (58:19):
Joe gave us a point a minute the other night,
Like we talked about twenty minutes, twenty points.
Speaker 3 (58:24):
It's a good time.
Speaker 4 (58:25):
I thought Andrew Drummond was awesome last night for the
Sixers when he got some run.
Speaker 3 (58:31):
And you know VJ VJ was was good last night too.
Speaker 4 (58:35):
I mean, he had he had eight assists and everyone
say nine boards or one way or the other.
Speaker 3 (58:40):
So it just really filling up.
Speaker 4 (58:41):
A statu sheet. It's really filling up a statu sheet.
And that's what and that's what I'm talking about. I mean,
what a feels like, just what a home run pick
that is. And then his backward quin. Grimes awesome last night,
so you know, starting.
Speaker 5 (58:56):
It's like they put flopped right. Tommy VJ was awesome
Opening night, came back earth a little bit. Grimes wasn't
very good opening night. He stole the show and he
needed to go. But again, I'm glad the sports teams
are at least listening to us that over the dial,
because what did we talk about on Wednesday, Tommy, Well,
we talk about the depth of this team. And that's
(59:17):
even without Jared McCain and Paul George right now, and
the depth of this team came out yesterday in that way,
in that victory, you had five guys fifteen or more,
three guys twenty or more, and you talk about your two,
your two best guys in Joel and Maxie had had
had twenty or more. Grimes twenty and then Uber eighton
(59:37):
nineteen and VJ at fifteen. So I mean that's your
core right there. Those are your guys that we talked
about at any given night to give you fifteen to
twenty a night at any given time. And they did
that the other night, and that's why they come They
come back in that game and win. You know, you
don't have those big shots made by Grimes or you know,
the big shots made by VJ or any of those guys,
(59:59):
you don't obvious to win that game.
Speaker 4 (01:00:01):
Yeah, five guys in double figures, you know, through the
first two games in terms of average.
Speaker 5 (01:00:09):
Right.
Speaker 4 (01:00:10):
So, and that's again this is with al Chad McCain,
who we think is going to be a double digit
guy as well here, and obviously Paul George, who we
expect when he's on the court, would be a double
digit guy here for sure. So you know, you're talking
about possibly seven guys on a nightly basis who can
give you in double digits. I think it's just such
(01:00:31):
a lethal combination for this coaching they have to get
their hands on when they actually are all healthy and
playing at the same time. But to be two and
oh you know started season off like this I think
is great.
Speaker 3 (01:00:45):
You know, you got another home game tomorrow against Orlando.
Speaker 4 (01:00:47):
Would love to get all you know, you would love
to get off to a little three and oh piece.
Speaker 3 (01:00:54):
Piece and you got washing up, he got.
Speaker 4 (01:00:56):
Washington Tuesday and that on back to back, you know
potential like can we get a little four and oh right?
Could you get to a little feign oh start and
you'll really be feeling yourselves without some without two guys,
two key guys. And I think you probably get Paul
George back any one of these nights, is my guess.
Speaker 3 (01:01:18):
You could probably.
Speaker 4 (01:01:19):
I was just look, could probably seeing tomorrow. If not,
you might see him in Washington on a night where
you know Joelle is not going to play.
Speaker 5 (01:01:30):
That would be ideal, right, that would be ideal.
Speaker 3 (01:01:33):
Don I mean I think in the East, you could
easily make the case.
Speaker 4 (01:01:36):
That you know, they have an opportunity to to make
it to the Eastern Conference finals when it's really you
know it's Boston Orlando obviously, you know it's gonna be
you think it's gonna be good, the Knicks, Orlando. Uh
in Cleveland, it's the next Orlando and Cleveland. I mean
they're really the teams. And you know Detroit is a
(01:01:57):
good team. Too, Don obviously, but I don't know if
they're ready for that yet either.
Speaker 5 (01:02:06):
Yeah, Joel's out tomorrow. Bag move? What a scumbag move?
Speaker 3 (01:02:13):
Why why is he out?
Speaker 5 (01:02:17):
He says left knee injury management, But like, why would
you shit him the home game is Washington on the road,
so why would you sit him the home game and
then play him the road game. That's why I think
it's the scumbag move, right, like.
Speaker 4 (01:02:32):
You maybe your fans maybe because it's a distance in
between games, it's.
Speaker 3 (01:02:38):
The extra day.
Speaker 4 (01:02:39):
Like, yeah, he came out with a brace on an
ice around it, right comes he comes out with a
brace on ice around it.
Speaker 3 (01:02:47):
So I came in like, I can't even like scumbag
him right now.
Speaker 5 (01:02:51):
I'm not coming backing Joel. I'm coming back into six ers. Yeah, uh,
but out for tomorrow. Embiid, Barlow, George, Watford, and McKean
or all out for tomorrow. And Barlow's got that right
elbow laceration, Paul George is still this uh surgery recovery,
Watford's the left hamstring tightness, and then we know mckein's
(01:03:14):
with the with the knee. I'm trying to see if
they if they show just for tomorrow, so they haven't
shown any idea on when Paul George might play. It
would have been like you were saying, Tommy, it would
have been nice if you know, Joelle plays tomorrow bors
and then George plays on Tuesday, right.
Speaker 3 (01:03:34):
Not liking, not liking? Yeah with three and o now.
Speaker 5 (01:03:38):
Right now three or four and oh might be a.
Speaker 4 (01:03:41):
Yeah three and now without that, that twenty possible points
Tomorrow night is top. But this is where you really
need it, you know, it's where you really need a
Grimes b Jay Tyree.
Speaker 5 (01:03:53):
Yeah, the guards to handle.
Speaker 3 (01:03:54):
Guard's gotta go, gotta go off tomorrow night.
Speaker 4 (01:03:58):
So we'll say, I mean, listen, either way, it's nice
to be it's nice to have three guards or four
guards under the age of twenty five and really feel,
like we said before the season started that you can
have the best of those worlds where you feel like
you have an opportunity to try to win games and
see where that takes you. But you're also you know,
rebuilding at the same time with younger players.
Speaker 3 (01:04:20):
So it's good.
Speaker 5 (01:04:27):
Yeah, they're they're fun, they're exciting, and we'll see what happens.
We're gonna go through this, yo, yo, with Joel all year.
It's just a matter of as again, as we talked Wednesday,
what happens or when do you get Paul George and
Jay McCain back, and what does a team look like
at that point, because we know this is gonna be
Joel all year right to yo yo, the up and
(01:04:49):
down and and that's fine.
Speaker 3 (01:04:51):
Yeah, I don't know it's gonna be all year, Greg.
Speaker 4 (01:04:52):
I think it's gonna be that point through the first uh,
you know, two months of the season. I think when
you get at when you get past Christmas and you
start to get in the January, I think you'll you'll
see the restrictions a lot, a lot less.
Speaker 5 (01:05:09):
The restrictions, yes, but the but the back to backs
are now he's never gonna play back to backs from
here on out.
Speaker 3 (01:05:16):
Yeah, probably not. Yeah, but that's what that's right.
Speaker 5 (01:05:18):
That's what I mean when the up and down, not
necessarily the minutes restrictions, because yeah, you're one hundred percent right,
that's going to be through the first portion of the year.
I'm more I'm more saying the the up and down
of the back to backs.
Speaker 4 (01:05:30):
Yeah, and again there's not too many of them, right
when you really break down schedules. There's enough of them,
I feel like, right, but there's not like a million
of them.
Speaker 5 (01:05:39):
Yeah, I mean the season goes so long. I don't
know why we have any back to backs. Just fucking
run it into just run it into continuous season. They
don't need an off an off season. They don't even
have one anyway. They go right to summer league. So
not not everybody gives a summer league. But like the end,
(01:06:00):
media just never stops.
Speaker 3 (01:06:03):
No, it doesn't. God thinks.
Speaker 4 (01:06:08):
Paul George want to prove himself he's not washed. Yeah,
it'd be nice if you approve that.
Speaker 5 (01:06:14):
Yeah, we like to see it.
Speaker 4 (01:06:18):
And yeah, Maxie is James says, so crazy see good tires,
Maxie got so quickly.
Speaker 3 (01:06:23):
Really speaks to his work ethic.
Speaker 4 (01:06:24):
Yeah, he's awesome, absolutely, James, he's awesome obviously. Stud Yeah,
through two games averaging thirty four points a game. You know, guy,
I feel like an average twenty eight plus in this
lake as he continues to grow. But just a fun
guy to have and I think his work ethic then
you know, ends up working its way down to a
(01:06:46):
guy like VJ, who already has a work ethic. And
you know, you're sort of creating that culture of that,
and I think when you're when you're changing the culture
a little bit, you're starting to see it. You're starting
to see a little bit. It's just Irish MAXI team
right now, you know, because there's to your other two
highest pay guys are either one still out and the
(01:07:08):
other is on a minute restriction.
Speaker 3 (01:07:09):
So it's his team.
Speaker 4 (01:07:11):
And I think you know you're seeing that, you're seeing that,
but I think you're also seeing a guy like Joel
who who is okay with it, you know. Yeah, in
a way, it's about winning, man, That's what it's about
right now. But I can't I can't say enough great
things about the stuff I watched.
Speaker 5 (01:07:34):
There's fun again, right, yeah, fun again. That's that I
think the biggest thing because I've been out on them, right, Tommy,
I mean that's no, that's no secret, right, I've been
out on them. But they're fun to watch again because
they got the guards and because they're I don't want
to say it's like watching I don't want to say
it's like watching a processed team, right, because I enjoyed
watching those process teams a lot more than I've watched
(01:07:55):
that I enjoyed watching the last few years. But I
think that hope, like you say the half in half
out write that hope of watching these young this young
backcourt quad right hand them quad, whatever we want to
call them, uh, MAXI VJ. Grimes and McCain. Seeing what
they potentially can do together as a group makes it
(01:08:19):
fun to watch. And then you then you factor in,
oh we've still got Joe. Hell, he's pretty good. It's
he's I think he's gonna make it all right. Uh
and then uh and then obviously Paul George so uh yeah,
they're funny, they're fun to watch again. That that's that's
my biggest takeaway over the first couple of games is
is is the the enjoyments back?
Speaker 3 (01:08:40):
Yeah? And I think Eddie nails it. Why it is?
Speaker 4 (01:08:42):
You know, I like the direction the Sixers are going,
not relying on old dudes is so far And.
Speaker 3 (01:08:50):
That's exactly it.
Speaker 4 (01:08:52):
Sure that a good call, younger group of guys, uh,
sprinkled in with you know your your you know your
few order guys that are playing like well Andre and
not not really much more than that until you get
Paul George back, and then that's really you're like your
veterans and everything else is it is sort of younger
(01:09:12):
for the most part, at least under like you know,
twenty eight. No, Kelly's Kelly's not young, but he's not old,
right right. You have a few of that, but yeah, overall,
a younger, a younger, younger roster, younger lineups.
Speaker 3 (01:09:28):
Getting tossed out there.
Speaker 4 (01:09:29):
So it's fun winning, and it's fun when it's a
different vibe. Yeah, yeah, and you know that he's definitely
a different vibe.
Speaker 3 (01:09:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:09:39):
I think we could stop with the aceh Bailey talks
Don on Draft night, and we could have stopped with
it in the summer leg too. When you watch DJ
play and you're like, Okay, I can see it, Like
I could see the athleticism. I could see the jumper.
I could see the smoothness, the ability to hang in
the air and make that little eight footer a little
(01:10:00):
mid range eight footer down there, you know, you know
inside the free throw line there that he's been able
to hit, and that's that's you started to see it, like, Okay,
this guy can play and he's you know, he's dunking
on guys. So just a great athlete. And you always
say when you get great athletes. You can turn, you
(01:10:21):
can turn do so much with it if you're a
damn good coach. And I think they got damn good
coaches here, So I think this is where we're at. Yep, completely, Yeah, Wemby.
Wemby is ridiculous. It's absurd. It's the cheap, it's the
goddamn cheat code.
Speaker 3 (01:10:39):
Be the cheat code. It's not it's not even fair. Yeah. Yeah,
I don't know how you even draft to beat that.
Speaker 5 (01:10:48):
I don't think you can.
Speaker 3 (01:10:50):
No, you gotta find another one.
Speaker 5 (01:10:52):
You You just got to hope that you can find
one yourself. Yeah, dude, it's it's it's stupid. It it's stupid.
He does things that you shouldn't be able to do
with that size should be able to do it.
Speaker 3 (01:11:08):
He blocked the ball, yeah yeah, and.
Speaker 5 (01:11:11):
The other night he cussed the ship out of it.
Speaker 3 (01:11:12):
Yeah, he just cupped it.
Speaker 4 (01:11:14):
Like, Okay, here's the six eleven guys trying to you know,
six eleven guy down the paint and the seven eleven.
Speaker 3 (01:11:23):
Guy just just fucking cup it. Cut that. We're gonna
go the other way.
Speaker 4 (01:11:27):
I'm gonna bury three in your face or go the
other way, and I'll reverse dunk on your on your face.
Speaker 3 (01:11:32):
It's just it's absurd, it's wild. He's so good.
Speaker 5 (01:11:43):
Yeah, he is a dog. He is a dog, and yeah,
is no problem mixing it up and anywhere on the court,
no problem mixing it up, which is nice. You know,
he'll go, he'll go into the hole. He'll do whatever
you need to do.
Speaker 4 (01:12:00):
The only thing he's gonna have to do over his
year one year two is just I'll do That's just
by getting older, is just put on some sides right,
which will make the game, you know, in a physical game,
will make it, you know, make his body with stand
more and he will too, and you'll see that and
then you know the going from a you know, a
(01:12:21):
thirty point game to a fifteen point game won't happen
as much for him. You know, you'll see the legs
come underneath them a lot more in year two because
I don't know, I mean, I mean, I guess you
could really get after it in your training knowing you're
coming into an eighty two game season after draft night,
and you can really get after it for about three
months four months of just grinding right and preparing your
(01:12:48):
body for it. So you know, I'm sure Cardio you
can get yourself, you know, as repped up for it
as possible. But I still think as a rookie coming
in this like you're gonna have nice, but you just
don't have your legs.
Speaker 3 (01:12:59):
Yep.
Speaker 5 (01:13:01):
Yeah, yeah, you're absolutely right. You can feel like that
you have it cardio wise, but there's gonna be edge
and flows to a season with with with a rookie
like this.
Speaker 4 (01:13:16):
Yeah, I think I think when you when you face Wenby,
it's just about you know, even though he'll shoot the
free throw as well, it's just about how many fouls
you have to give, you know, so you know, if
you have enough guys just to.
Speaker 3 (01:13:27):
Roll out there. But I want to be worried about.
Speaker 4 (01:13:28):
Him bed facing them as much as some other teams are.
I mean, and is probably you know, better.
Speaker 3 (01:13:36):
Just because of.
Speaker 4 (01:13:37):
Its size, where like like Wemby, you know he played
a D the other night, and you know a D
you think would be a good matchup. But he's not
like physical enough, right, nothing embiid is either, but he's
just thicker, so you think a little a little harder
just to they they do what you want with doing
in the paint, Yeah, a lot of but until his
(01:13:59):
legs are back and he's jumping right then. Yeah, it
is a It is a bad match up for Joel. Yeah,
it's a bad matchup for anybody right now.
Speaker 5 (01:14:08):
But a lot of what what I mean, let's again,
Web's a freak, but a lot of what he does,
he's just more athletic than the guy's guarding him. That's
not necessarily the case with Joel went Healthy. I don't
know that we know Joel went Healthy is ever going to.
Speaker 3 (01:14:23):
Be but yeah, we'll ever see it again.
Speaker 4 (01:14:27):
Yeah, you know, I think he stood out when you
talk about Vjay in this game, Uh had it assists,
six rebounds, three steals, So I mean that was just
that on a block plus nine that was his That
(01:14:52):
was his extracurricular numbers the other night. So you look
at those numbers and fifteen points, right, James, you know,
athletics isn't still pop and the numbers still pop.
Speaker 3 (01:15:03):
Yep, Oh done.
Speaker 4 (01:15:06):
Yeah, j would definitely try to dunk on Wemby.
Speaker 3 (01:15:12):
Good luck, it's gonna go.
Speaker 4 (01:15:15):
It could be good or man, I don't know when
we played and we played, don't play him for a while,
but either way, we have you know, next two, we
have Orlando and then at Washington and then Friday Boston
and then Sunday, No, no Eagles, Uh, you're at We're
(01:15:35):
at Brooklyn six o'clock.
Speaker 3 (01:15:38):
So you always got something, always got something.
Speaker 4 (01:15:39):
Sunday are six ers wise, and then they don't play
again until Tuesday at Chicago.
Speaker 3 (01:15:48):
So it looks like a little road trip there.
Speaker 5 (01:15:52):
But not starting off against Juggernauts though starting out very favorably.
Speaker 4 (01:15:57):
Right, No, I mean you got Boston obviously, you know,
twice twice in a week essentially, right, Uh, a little
more than a week. But you know what I mean,
that's that's the only only really Juggernaut in there. Orlando's
obviously solid so too.
Speaker 3 (01:16:18):
But oh yeah, I mean.
Speaker 5 (01:16:19):
Yeah, obviously Boston and yeah, Orlando's really good. But you're
not like you're going up against like it's you know,
the Juggernauts. You know, you haven't facing Nicks yet, which
is good, not saying they're Juggernaut, right, but they own
us right now.
Speaker 3 (01:16:30):
Yeah, you don't have any Juggernauts and you're not.
Speaker 5 (01:16:32):
Facing any any high powered Western Conference teams yet.
Speaker 3 (01:16:35):
Yeah, I think they're the Juggernauts. I don't think you really.
Speaker 4 (01:16:39):
Got any Juggernauts in the East outside of like like
New York. Maybe that's it. That's it, really, Juggernaut. You
got some good teams, Like the Warrants are good. Warrants
are a good team. Seriously, Orlando is a good team.
Speaker 3 (01:16:51):
You know, Boston is a good team.
Speaker 4 (01:16:53):
And so you're still gonna you still got good teams
in the East, but you don't have those, you don't
have those like like we're talking about you know others
Juggernauts scheduled laws, right, Yeah, the ones out the ones
out west are just different. It's like, yeah, it's going
to get Boston o the way. Oh yeah, I mean
it's good. You know, you try to get another you
(01:17:14):
try to get another wind Friday night against Boston, will
be will be delicious.
Speaker 3 (01:17:18):
Yeah, probably probably another reason.
Speaker 4 (01:17:24):
You know, who knows why they're Like I said, who knows.
Speaker 5 (01:17:26):
That sense where you were going with that? Yeah, it
could be thinking ahead.
Speaker 4 (01:17:36):
Yeah, of course it's a big difference with TAM's everybody's
not there. So you know that's why we're saying we
have a chan advantage. Yeah, you have a chance this
year to really really make something happen.
Speaker 3 (01:17:48):
And BJ and he said BJ is perfect for the city.
I agree, Yeah, for sure, good quality.
Speaker 4 (01:17:59):
Yeah, Yeah, Tatum's back there obviously could be the best
team in the Eastern Conference when they have Tatum and
Brown together, you know, but New York's New York's could
And I think we're I think we're awesome, like I
said when we talked about when we when we're healthy,
if that ever comes to fruition, right, But there's seven
guys that are double figure guys, So I mean that
(01:18:20):
puts a lot of a lot of pressure on defenses
when you.
Speaker 3 (01:18:25):
Get that many guys who can who can score.
Speaker 5 (01:18:29):
We talked about with the Eagles, right, like with throw
it out a J. Brown? Would you rather have a J.
Brown there? Or would you rather the defense not have
to worry about a VJ. Brown or a J. Brown
VJ Cheus. I can try to call it VJ. Brown,
But it's the same thing, right, We're talking about the
same thing. And we're doing like like we said, we're
doing all this without two guys that we think and
(01:18:50):
we feel like they're gonna be really high contributors to
this team in McCain and George.
Speaker 4 (01:18:56):
Yeah, and if you don't believe George will be because you
don't believe it'll be healthy, then that's fine. But McCain showed, now, grant,
this guy's gotta stay healthy man, right at the end
of the day, because he's another one who showed not
the ability to be healthy so far in his young
NBA career. So, you know, not a great not a
great start, but again, not going to hold too much
against him if he can get on the court and
(01:19:16):
stay on the court. But when he is on the
court again, a guy who's who showed the ability to
be productive. But we know Paul George is gonna be
productive at least a regular season Paul George.
Speaker 3 (01:19:28):
And you know, again.
Speaker 4 (01:19:29):
He's he was figured to come back quicker than McCain.
Uh again, but we'll see.
Speaker 5 (01:19:37):
Yeah, I'm actually kind of shocked. I felt like going
into that final preseason game where Joell played, it was
I was under the understanding that Paul George was also
cleared for that game, uh and just but just didn't play.
So it's it's, you know, weird to continue to see
him being out. Obviously he must have had maybe had
(01:19:57):
a setback or or whatnot, but uh, I.
Speaker 4 (01:20:02):
Don't yet, I haven't heard of him having any step
backs or anything like what was his It was it
like a scope of the knee or something like in
the off season.
Speaker 5 (01:20:17):
Yeah, I mean they're yeah, they're calling it a left
knee surgery, but.
Speaker 4 (01:20:22):
There was a left knee surgery, but they like figured
out like late in Yeah, I feel like late in
the off season sort of.
Speaker 2 (01:20:34):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (01:20:34):
Yeah, Arthur scottpick on his left knee July fourteenth. Yeah,
it was performing to address an injury. You stayed during
an off season workout. You can begin rehab and will
(01:20:55):
be re evaluated before I was before it start training camp.
But they're they're this up, didn't give any necessarily, you know,
sixty eight weeks or anything.
Speaker 3 (01:21:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:21:12):
Well most of the articles are a couple of days
old on that, so maybe we'll get an update tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (01:21:17):
Yeah, I mean it sounds about right.
Speaker 5 (01:21:18):
I mean four games.
Speaker 3 (01:21:20):
He's always hurt, so I don't know.
Speaker 4 (01:21:22):
I don't want to put too much stock into him,
but we'd love to get McCain.
Speaker 3 (01:21:28):
Rocking and rolling and healthy and what like.
Speaker 4 (01:21:31):
Like Nick Nurse said last night, we'll love to get
embiid's minute restrictions uh lifted up a little bit and
you'll get to that twenty five thirty minute mark. And
I think you get that's when I think it's really
going to be beneficial for us, Yes, for sure, But
it would be nice getting some of these guards back
so you don't have to run BJA forty two minutes
(01:21:54):
and you know, have the run that reached forty two minutes.
Speaker 5 (01:21:57):
Yeah, they're they're they're like a lot of minutes, right,
We need to need a couple of reinforcements here.
Speaker 3 (01:22:03):
Yeah, it would be nice.
Speaker 4 (01:22:04):
It would be nice with a lot of guys, a
lot of guys banged up, would be nice, all right,
But sure crumbs, Greg, and let's and let's wrap her
up for a night.
Speaker 5 (01:22:13):
Yeah that one.
Speaker 4 (01:22:21):
Uh No, I think where don don took the biggest
crumb in a week is is really I mean, just
just everything right, let me just put this all into
a big all in the one big bubble here and
just talk like gambling the way it's advertised, the way
it's advertising in sports and around sports professionally and the
(01:22:43):
college game, and then you know stuff that we know
has happened through years where you know, the mob is
really involved in bookmaking, but really involved in in getting
guys to either throw games or or do things for
(01:23:04):
X amount of money.
Speaker 3 (01:23:05):
So we know they get the players.
Speaker 4 (01:23:07):
We've known this throughout the years in the NBA to
get the players, well, other are sports to get the
players in you know, I don't know, but I would
be I would be hard pressed. They don't get to
a lot of players and a lot of other sports too,
and find ways to those players and offer them lots
of money to to throw games. Uh, because a lot
(01:23:29):
of easier throw game to win a game. Right, So
it just makes you not trust any of it and
anything professionally you watch, even though we watch for entertainment.
We are invested into our entertainment. People spend money on this.
People spend harder money to buy season tickets, to take
(01:23:51):
people to games, takes families to games, They get the games,
they spend time watching games.
Speaker 3 (01:23:58):
I think, I think it's really tough off when you
know stuff has been.
Speaker 4 (01:24:02):
Raked throughout the the course of it, and.
Speaker 3 (01:24:06):
You know, like I said, the whole thing's nuts whlding nuts.
Like ESPN.
Speaker 4 (01:24:12):
You know, the NFL earns ten percent of ESPN. Uh,
ESPN has ESPN bat Like, I just don't there's so
many like there's so much like guys, you know, you
guys don't see that double standard like we don't, we
don't see that, like that shouldn't be allowed, like they
own a piece of the betting.
Speaker 3 (01:24:30):
Then if they own a piece of ESPN.
Speaker 4 (01:24:33):
I just think when you when you look through it
at all, I think we're on a really slippery slope.
Not only with collegies athletics, I think we're on a
slippery slope with with the way gambling is advertised the youth,
to the youth who are watching these games.
Speaker 3 (01:24:49):
I think it's a slippery slope.
Speaker 4 (01:24:51):
I think the whole thing's bat I mean, being a
gambler was looked like froudened upon uh in years past.
Now now it's like, oh please please gamble, We'll match
your deposit, you know, Like so.
Speaker 5 (01:25:06):
Yeah, it's now everyone's throwing around parlay, you know what
I mean, Like you used to have to keep that
stuff quiet.
Speaker 4 (01:25:12):
Yep, used to have to keep it quiet. And not
that I'm against, you know, throwing a little money around.
I'm not saying I am. I'm just saying that this
this is what when you when you put it out
there like this, and then you you start to be like,
oh well, I can't believe that guy did that, or
I can't believe that guy was you know, a class
that I can't believe he was strowing first pitch balls
(01:25:34):
on purpose and making money off of it, right, Like
I can't believe it, Like you can't you know, do
you mean he can't believe it? Like you can't believe
he wasn't gotten to You can't believe that people aren't
gotten to for for these types of things, right, all
all around sports, especially with these prop bets. So yeah,
and then I think, like, you know, I forget what
(01:25:56):
player said. I'll leave it at this, but you know,
you got you know, sports gotta tack the players better
from them getting heat from from gambling be more prevalent,
you know, and player props being more prevalent, and everythings
like that. I'm not saying, oh poor player, That's not
what I'm saying, but but I also get it.
Speaker 3 (01:26:17):
Also get it. When you put more and more out
there and you are more.
Speaker 4 (01:26:20):
And more people to openly gamble, you're gonna get more
and more heat for sure, right naturally.
Speaker 3 (01:26:26):
So yeah, that's where I'm that way that I think
it's all bullshit.
Speaker 4 (01:26:31):
I think the league, you know, everybody makes money off
of this, So I'll just leave it at that.
Speaker 3 (01:26:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:26:38):
I mean, Tommy, you hit it on the head for
this one. It's it makes you rethink everything that's going on, right,
just makes you rethink everything. It makes you you know, Yeah,
it's just it's it's so it's so easy. And and
like when that that video out there on the when
they first announced it and Mike Greenberg is going on
(01:26:59):
and on his holier than now little rant and you
had the bottom of the screen, Yeah, brought to you
by ESPN back and they quickly pulled that down. Uh Ty.
We talked about, you know, ESPN owning or NFL now
buying in the ESPN. We talked about just from a
journalistic standpoint back when it first happened. We didn't even
(01:27:20):
really go into what the what these potential uh happenings
could be. We just talked about it that you're never
gonna get a real story out ESPN because the NFL
owns them now. Yeah, and how nothing's going to be
talked about from a from a you know, an outside
of a bias, you know, from a biased standpoint. Uh
(01:27:42):
And then this breaks and now you're absolutely never even
getting anything unbiased and nothing that the NFL doesn't want
you or the NBA doesn't want you to be a
part of Uh. Yeah, it's completely wild. I just I
can't wait to see who goes down. That's what I
want to know. I want to see who goes down
for this. And it seems like Chauncey's already screaming and
(01:28:03):
already and already uh singing, singing to the singing to
the birds. Uh, you just love to see it. I mean,
you just threw away your Hall of Fame career. He
threw away your whole playing career. I mean Pete rose
Wood wasn't in the Hall of Fame yet when he
did it. Chaunty, you're in, you were in. You gotta
give up that jacket. Now, you gotta give up that jacket.
(01:28:26):
It's crazy, it's absolutely wild, and we're just a different
part of a crumb.
Speaker 3 (01:28:34):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (01:28:35):
It's just gonna be like you know we during the
season we go here often. It's the NFL officiating. It's
it's an absolute just crack of ship. How they can
throw a whistle in there at anytime, how they and
it benefited us at first, right, but you know that
was a fumble on Jalen, right, but then you flip
side during the end of the game. That was a
(01:28:55):
fumble on Jackson dart right, you had you had the
SEC suspend the one of official from that that officiated
the Auburn George Georgia game. They suspended him, they pulled
him him aside, and then you look at you know
what transpired today. I mean in the in the Bucks
Saints game, the Saints fumbled, the Bucks picked it up,
(01:29:16):
ran it back, watching it live, there was no whistle.
They go to replay, they come back, Oh there's there
was a whistle.
Speaker 3 (01:29:22):
Yeah, huh, where's.
Speaker 5 (01:29:24):
The whistle at? And so it's just yeah, I mean,
it's it's such a Again, we go there often because
they're easy, but they're just egregious anymore. How like you
just can make ship up, like we don't even know
what half the rules are anywhere, because they go to
replay and then they come out and it's something different.
It's it's completely wild. Yeah, Like I love, I love
(01:29:48):
when they go to either whoever they go to, they're
they're they're on their referee on on staff right and
you know Dean Blandino, Yeah that's a fumble, go back
play stands standard. Oh you're like, huh, now we're measure.
Now we're measuring millimeters. I mean, I know what a
millimeter is, so like, I mean, you know, but yeah,
(01:30:08):
it's just wild, right, It's just completely wild on both sides, right,
college and pro. And then it's it's it's.
Speaker 3 (01:30:15):
Yeah, it's bad, brother.
Speaker 5 (01:30:18):
Yeah, there're going berto. Yeah, the whistle on the field
goal and we're gonna get to retry it. We all
heard it, like, that's wild. How can you say that, Oh,
it didn't happen. Huh it didn't happen.
Speaker 3 (01:30:31):
Yeah, yeah, it happened. We all heard it.
Speaker 5 (01:30:33):
It's sure, it's all happened. Don don don't you start
this ship right now. We're trying to get out of here, Don,
and you're trying to rile me up.
Speaker 3 (01:30:46):
Yeah, they're not gonna they're not gonna do that.
Speaker 5 (01:30:48):
Keep that son of up far far away from Happy
Valley or it will be unhappy value real quick.
Speaker 3 (01:30:57):
It already is unhappy. But we're happy. So we're gonna
go Sixers tomorrow night.
Speaker 4 (01:31:05):
All right, birds, get healthy, and it's been a great
to disagree.
Speaker 3 (01:31:12):
We love you.
Speaker 4 (01:31:12):
All, Like I said, Big week for the Sixers, Big
week for the flyers, right, big week to get our
eyeballs even deeper on those two teams. So you know,
we'll circle back when we see you guys Wednesday on
uh where Philly Sports stands in the moment, But right
now we're we feel like we're on the top of
the mountain.
Speaker 3 (01:31:34):
Yeah, it can very well change when we see you Wednesday,
So we love you. We're out go birds,
