Speaker 1 (00:00):
Creativity is an addiction, unplugged because we will always say
yes to creativity, totally uncut because we all make mistakes.
So let's turn it into a tool. This is arrow unplugged.
Oh they're doing it again. They're showing pictures of the
President of the United States stumbling. Gerald Ford did it too,
and the press they mocked him. In fact, it even

(00:22):
inspired the people of Saturday Night Live Chevy Chase to
do the same exact thing on a Saturday Night program.
We're stumbling. We all stumble in life, and man, don't
you hate it when somebody captures it in a photograph? Hey,
at Caerol, this is the choice. This is what I
was writing while the sun was waking up on a
brilliant new day. I've always heard that when you trip

(00:43):
on a clean floor, it's a ghost trying to reach
out to you. Have you ever heard of that? My
wife never heard of it. But boy, did we ever
dig in and start doing some research. Yet I can't
tell you where I picked up on such a belief.
I can tell you that at my essential job, there
are a few flat areas on that floor that tend
to trip a lot of people up, And you go

(01:04):
What the hell are they trip it over? How is
this even possible? So there is some research and it
does say your body is trying to rise up by
using the toes of the opposite foot. Do you believe that?
Medical experts say it could be medically connected by way
of an inner ear disorder, which I do wonder about

(01:26):
because in every place we go there's always too much
noise pollution. I'm extremely guilty of tapping into whatever's available,
and in doing so well, a lot of people think
that I miss their conversation, and I do because there's
so much noise pollution. It appears that I'm listening to

(01:47):
this and that, and your balance can get knocked off.
Talk about tripping up, which could also be a reason
why tripping on a perfectly flat floor is a stumble maker.
The body is reacting to what it's listening to. The
inner ear is throwing us off balance. So many people

(02:07):
have earbuds in these days. What is their balance like?
Are they perfectly in tune with the mind, body, and soul?
What about those people that feel like that they have
got to listen to every single conversation, eavesdropping, spying on
other people's drama? Do you think their body is perfectly
under control. What about your own personal balance? We all stumble,

(02:29):
but do you ever ask the question why am I stumbling?
I had some physical therapy during my achilles tendon injury,
and the one thing they wanted to put focus on
was my balance, and they explained it to me this way.
Your feet have several different muscles. If those muscles are
not communicating with everything that leads up to your hip,

(02:52):
you're going to be out of balance. Is that why
we're tripping? Because there's no communication from the butt to
the toes. So how do you do that? It's exercises,
It's different exercises that seem kind of eh, and you
feel kind of stupid. But yet when you start strengthening
those muscles and they start communicating to each other because

(03:13):
they know they need each other, your balance is going
to pick up. Is that the shoes that you're wearing
big possibility because a lot of us like to drag
our feet and sometimes those hot looking tennis shoes hit
the brakes and you're still going forward, locating your balance,
becoming aware of why you're stumbling. I still believe it's

(03:38):
a ghost reaching out to you. What are your feelings.
I'm Errow, and that's what I was writing while the
sun was waking up on a brilliant new day.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
