(00:23):
My podcast platform features thousands of guests. What you don't
have access to are my missed opportunities. The show prep
was one hundred percent completed. The conversation mm mmm didn't happen.
I keep all of my notes because I believe that
paths will cross one more day. Let me explain missed opportunity.
It's my questions and statements without their answers. I'm leaving

(00:46):
open enough space at the end of every question, hoping
they'll download the talk and insert their answers. It's happened
four different times. Missed opportunity is a lost piece of history,
Like a message in a bottle. It's been tossed out
to see now it's time to locate that destination. This week,
we're putting focus on my missed opportunity with singer songwriter

(01:07):
Miss Crystal. Miss Crystal was cent to release a brand
new EP called Inevitable, six tracks all written by Miss
Crystal and The Orca. The first single to come from
the EP was titled Relevant. It embodies the message of
the entire EP now. According to Miss Crystal, it's about
the struggle to find meaning and purpose in your own

(01:29):
personal story. Miss Crystal explains it's about curing your own fear,
taking massive action, and being brave. The invitation to share
a conversation with Miss Crystal arrived on October twenty fifth,
twoenty seventeen. The goal was to set something up as
quickly as possible because Miss Crystal had a very rare opening.

(01:50):
By October twenty seventh, we were still trying to nail
down the day for the conversation. Later that day we
sent a request to video our conversation. This was long
before Zoom. Everyone was doing Skype at the time, not
as easy as zoom. Miss Crystal's promotion team accepted the
video invitation to requests what cameras would be used and

for Miss Crystal. Hey, thanks for coming back to Missed
Opportunity this week. It's my missed opportunity with singer songwriter
Miss Crystal. You didn't just put out a new EP.
You surrounded yourself with top names inside that studio. The
productivity of a songwriter? How do you stay so loyal

(03:02):
to the site and the sound when in reality, it's
just a thought moving through your process. So many artists
want to quickly leap onto the voice to be seen,
and others they've kind of kept away. Where do you
stand on this? Your new EP is described as being agropop.
It's an EP that's really really ready for public display.

(03:24):
What is that like as the singer songwriter? Because once
again it was so personal to put it on paper.
Then it becomes music. Now it becomes a part of
our chapters growing forward relevant You know me, I want
to know the story and how this song came into
being the final question. You say, the EP is about

(03:45):
curing your own fear. When you step into that zone
of curing your fear, what do you do with the
remnants missed opportunity, a lost piece of history. You now
know the question, so let's locate the reactions. The door
is always going to be open. If you are or

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
